00:00:38.520 God, what he ordains, then the order would go like this. God determined to utterly destroy

00:00:46.260 the Canaanite tribes. And because God determined that they should be utterly destroyed, he therefore

00:01:41.980 the parting of the Jordan River when Israel first entered into the land of Canaan. They have seen

00:01:47.720 the ruins, the ash heap of Jericho, where the earth opened up and swallowed up the walls and

00:01:55.940 defense of that tribe. They've heard of the conquering of Ai. They know about the five kings

00:02:02.960 who gathered together in unity against Joshua and Israel, and how Joshua had all of his chiefs of

00:02:10.500 war in Israel bring out those five kings, lay them on their backs, and put their feet on their necks

00:04:41.080 because they're not ignorant but they are in fact rebellious is that they take the truth which they

00:04:46.640 are aware of and they suppress it by their deeds of unrighteousness so it is not that they are

00:06:05.200 in a practical sense, in a national and tribal sense with Israel and these pagan tribes in the

00:06:14.180 land of Canaan. For it was the will of the Lord, it was of the Lord to harden their hearts, that

00:06:21.300 they should come against Israel in battle, so that he might utterly destroy them, and that they might

00:06:28.140 have no favor, no quarter, no peace treaties, no terms of covenant, that they would have no favor,

00:06:39.160 no option of surrender, but that he might destroy them as the Lord commanded Moses.

00:06:48.260 So the Lord, in terms of logical order, in the mind of God, what he ordained,

00:06:53.680 what he chose sovereignly to do, is that the Lord determined to wipe out the inhabitants of the land of Canaan.

00:07:02.020 And he determined this in a technical sense before the foundations of the world were laid.
