00:00:30.000 Adam and Eve broke all of God's law, all 11 commandments, 10 natural laws, and one positive

00:00:37.400 law. And the result was catastrophic. Verse 17. Before we proceed, notice that in verse 14 of our

00:00:45.640 text, death is actually represented, it's personified by Paul as a king. Death reigned

00:00:53.080 from Adam to Moses. So how is it that death exercises his dominion over all the inhabitants

00:01:00.260 of the earth? Death reigns by sin, and Satan reigns by both death and sin. These empires rise

00:01:08.340 and fall together. Notice that in Job chapter 18 verse 14, Bildad actually refers to death as the

00:01:24.420 death is terrible especially among those who are separate from Christ the dread of death the fear

00:01:35.960 Hebrews chapter 2 verse 14 through 15 illustrates this point it says since therefore the children

00:01:48.720 destroy the one who has power over death, that is the devil, and deliver all those who through fear

00:02:51.140 Brothers and sisters, there are only two kings in this universe, and they are not co-equals.

00:02:58.520 One, namely God, is infinitely more powerful and glorious than the other, but there are two kings,

00:03:04.580 a greater and a lesser those two kings are God and Satan God is the king of the kingdom of life

00:03:47.260 And this death, this rod of death, it is fueled and powered by sin. And sin extends its dominion

00:04:02.380 sin has extended its dominion throughout all of mankind.

00:04:06.600 There are two kings, God and Satan,

00:04:09.820 two kingdoms, life and death.

00:04:14.800 Two sources of power, if you will,

00:04:17.740 righteousness and sin,

00:04:19.680 and two federal heads,

00:04:21.800 two covenant fathers,

00:04:23.760 two representatives, in Adam or in Christ.
