00:03:50.980 five capital Philistine cities. And David taking five stones in some sense may be a metaphor,

00:03:58.660 symbolic that I'm coming for you first, Goliath, then I'll take care of your four brothers. Not

00:04:03.920 only are we pushing back the Philistines, but we're also going to wipe out the rest of the 1.00

00:04:08.400 giants. The last thing, the fifth, so it's Noah, then it's Abraham, then it's Joshua and Moses, 1.00

00:04:14.000 then it's David. The last one is Christ. And Christ does what was done before in the physical

00:04:19.240 sense. He now does in the ultimate spiritual sense. Have you ever wondered why are there so

00:04:24.940 many demons in Israel? Jesus, so much of his ministry is casting out demonic spirits. And

00:04:33.500 notice how these spirits and what's ultimately that they're spoken of is not really demon,

00:04:39.420 but disembodied spirits or demonic spirits. They're evil, make no mistake, but what's

00:04:48.140 probably going on is these are not fallen angels, demons in that sense, but these are probably the

00:04:54.480 disembodied spirits of the Nephilim, hybrid fallen angels and part man that were wiped out in the

00:05:01.600 flood and then further pushed back by Joshua and Moses and David. But the disembodied spirits are

00:05:09.360 now inhabiting people in Israel. And why are they so successful in inhabiting people in Israel?

00:05:15.780 because Israel at the time of Christ and his incarnation is 400 years removed since Malachi

00:05:22.580 and the last word of the Lord. The Bible said that the word of the Lord was exceedingly rare

00:05:28.020 in those days. Malachi even speaks of that the skies were turned to bronze. There was no more

00:05:34.900 prophetic revelation. And Israel, by the time Jesus burst on the scene, their hearts are so

00:05:41.140 hardened towards the Messiah, he came to his own, but they received him not. Israel had so hardened

00:05:47.780 their heart against God, against the things of God, that they were far more susceptible for this 0.86

00:05:55.140 disembodied spirit to inhabit them. And so Jesus comes, and all this giant killing has already been

00:06:49.040 And these are the kinds of things that are going on. And this is the kind of warfare that's

00:06:54.740 happening, I believe, in the book of Joshua. That you don't just have good guys and bad guys.

00:08:06.140 did with Herod. And that's why we have Mary and Joseph fleeing back to Egypt. Ironically, the very

00:08:14.200 place where the line was attempted to be snuffed out earlier in the days of Moses. Now you find them 0.88

00:08:19.800 finding refuge in Egypt because Herod in Rome is trying to snuff out all the Hebrew boys. 0.81

00:08:26.300 Once again, so you see this great battle throughout the Old Testament where it's not 0.62

00:08:33.320 just that God announces his victory. He actually, and this just speaks to the superiority and the

00:08:38.600 infinite wisdom of God. God is so confident, not arrogant, but confident because he is God.

00:09:02.420 and everyone's like, whoa! That's what God's doing. That's what God does with Satan. I'm going to do

00:09:08.000 this. Try and stop me. You think he can snuff out the line? You think he can do this? You think he

00:09:19.180 the christ and the christ jesus is the final giant slayer and he doesn't just slay giants like flesh

00:09:27.160 and blood and the physical level but he goes and drives out all the demons in israel now these

00:09:34.680 disembodied spirits last thing i'll say these disembodied spirits they're driven out but they're

00:09:42.500 not necessarily, we know that Satan has not yet been cast into the lake of fire, his ultimate

00:09:48.360 destruction. There's a sense in which he still prowls around like a roaring lion. I believe that

00:09:54.220 Satan has been bound by the finished work of Christ in his life, death, and resurrection. But even

00:10:00.220 though he's bound on a leash, a tighter leash, there's still a little bit of walking around room.

00:10:07.020 And even though certain watchers, fallen angels who took the daughters of men, they've actually

00:10:12.280 been locked up in gloomy dungeons, perjured, there still could be influence. And the Nephilim

00:10:18.820 spirits, not the fallen watchers, the angels themselves, but their hybrid offspring,

00:10:25.180 their disembodied spirits, what Jesus says is that when a spirit is cast out, if the house,

00:10:30.940 the person, is swept clean and put in order, but it's not filled, the implication being by the

00:10:37.580 presence of God, the Holy Spirit, our body is a temple, the Holy Spirit, that they're not filled

00:10:42.260 with faith and repentance and belief in the ministry and dwelling ministry of the Spirit,

00:10:47.460 then what happens is that this demon goes to arid or waterless places, disembodied, but eventually

00:10:54.760 will come back, finding the house, swept clean and put in order and bring back with it seven other

00:11:00.400 demonic presences worse than itself. And the final state of the person will be far worse.

00:11:06.200 and from what we can tell these disembodied nephilim spirits still have not been cast

00:11:14.260 biblically into the lake of fire for final judgment they are not among the fallen watchers

00:11:20.260 that were locked up in gloomy dungeons under the earth which would be my interpretation

00:11:25.120 instead they go through arid places and what we see historically over the last 2 000 years of

00:11:34.000 church history, is wherever the gospel goes, wherever a place is Christianized, you begin to

00:11:43.100 see progressively, generation by generation, over time, far and far less demonic activity.

00:11:50.820 But wherever a place rejects Christ and holds to pagan idols, you see the people there eventually

00:11:59.260 getting to a point where they're more susceptible to spiritual demonic possession and you actually

00:12:07.140 have demonic cases. Just like you had in Israel because of their hardness of heart when Jesus 0.87

00:13:11.200 cast out. It's been swept clean by Christianizing and put in order, but then a rejection of Christ 0.89
