00:00:00.420 Satan's little season. This is a part of eschatology or apocalyptic literature from the Bible that many people are not aware of.

00:00:08.860 Many Christians are not aware of. Now, we're going to be discussing this theology.

00:00:13.800 Are we currently in the West, and really that would mean the globe as an entirety,

00:00:19.060 but especially feeling the implications of this particular theology,

00:00:23.380 are we in Satan's little season here in the West, here in the world as an entirety right now?

00:00:29.820 This is where you get this doctrine fleshed out in Scripture.

00:00:34.060 It's not all over, you know, from Genesis to Revelation, all the contents of the Bible,

00:00:39.320 but there is one particular chapter.

00:00:41.280 This is Revelation chapter 20, verses 1 through 3, and then also looking at verses 7 through 11.

00:00:50.020 Okay, so I'm going to read right here, Revelation chapter 20, starting in verse 1.

00:00:53.520 The Bible says,

00:00:54.340 And I saw an angel coming down out of heaven, having the key to the abyss, and holding in his hand a great chain.

00:01:03.020 He seized the dragon, that ancient serpent, who is the devil or Satan, and bound him for a thousand years.

00:01:11.300 He threw him into the abyss and locked and sealed it over him to keep him from deceiving the nations anymore until the thousand years were ended.

00:01:22.260 After that, he must be set free for a short time.

00:01:26.680 So Satan locked in the abyss and then set free for a short time.

00:01:31.840 Satan's little season.

00:01:33.080 Picking up now with verse 7 of Revelation chapter 20 says this,

00:01:36.700 When the thousand years are over, Satan will be released from his prison

00:01:40.780 and will go out to deceive the nations in the four corners of the earth, 0.68

00:01:46.040 Gog and Magog, and to gather them for battle. 1.00

00:01:49.480 In number, they are like the sand on the seashore. 0.92

00:01:53.720 They marched across the breadth of the earth and surrounded the camp of God's people,

00:01:58.920 the city that he loves.

00:02:00.920 But fire came down from heaven and devoured them.

00:02:04.980 And the devil who was deceived or who deceived them was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur,

00:02:11.960 where the beast and the false prophet had been thrown.

00:02:14.840 They will be tormented day and night forever and ever.

00:02:19.480 This, again, is Revelation chapter 20, primarily looking at verses 1 through 3 and also 7 through 10.

00:02:26.840 What we're going to be talking about today is eschatology, which means study of the end times.

00:02:31.600 What does the Bible actually teach about that?

00:02:34.220 This one particular eschatological doctrine, Satan's little season, is something that a few people have talked about, but not many.

00:02:43.840 It's not really, it doesn't merit for itself the lion's share of church history when it comes to

00:02:49.940 eschological views, but we're going to be fleshing it out today in our episode, and we're also going

00:02:54.680 to be referencing a book that has not been, you know, there was moments where it was circulating,

00:03:02.000 but for the most part has been heavily suppressed, and even portions of history where it was not even

00:03:07.640 able to be printed. I believe it was the 1970s. So this isn't a book that's centuries, years old,

00:03:15.760 but rather something rather recent, about 50 years old, give or take, that was written called

00:03:22.040 Camp of the Saints. And think of, you know, if you think of A Brave New World, or you think of

00:03:28.160 1984, think of a dystopian fictional novel, right? So it's fiction, but it's painting a picture

00:03:35.300 of our future and a dystopian outcome of the future where all of western civilization collapses

00:03:43.020 and when you think of you know george orwell or different authors the way that they would paint

00:03:48.080 dystopian futuristic apocalyptic you know fictional descriptions is usually uh through

00:03:55.840 technology technology comes and ruins the world or uh simply just uh progressivism liberalism

00:04:02.580 gone amok. Communism, you know, communism destroying the world where two plus two equals

00:04:07.780 five now. You're not allowed to think logically or any of these things. Well, Camp of the Saints

00:04:12.400 is similar to that, except I think a lot more likely, a lot more realistic, because what Camp

00:04:20.020 of the Saints depicts is a dystopian, futuristic reality where it's not just AI taking over the

00:04:29.280 world or communism taking over the world. It is the third world taking over the civilized world.

00:04:36.220 It is limitless infinity immigration and the West losing its resolve to live. The West saying, 1.00

00:04:45.360 well, we don't want to be mean. We've got to be nice. And we're going to be empathetic,

00:04:50.380 embracing toxic empathy. And the West basically just rolling over on its sword. The West committing

00:04:56.780 uh, social suicide as its shores are flooded with wave after wave after wave of millions and 1.00

00:05:04.660 millions of third world immigrants who come into the West with zero appreciation. And we're going 1.00

00:05:09.900 to read some of the quotes from camp of the saints. Again, this is a, uh, for the most part,

00:05:14.340 a banned book and primarily banned for, I'm sure you can guess the reasons. Oh, because it's racist

00:05:19.800 because it's a bunch of Western predominantly white people who are ultimately destroyed 0.98

00:05:24.760 and civilization. The world is destroyed by third world countries, which are mostly predominantly 1.00

00:05:30.340 brown people. And so it's taken sharp criticism for, you know, the last 50 years. But there have 1.00

00:05:37.120 been moments where this book got a little bit of motion, as the kids say, and circulated and was

00:05:45.140 read. And for those who are willing to give it a fair shake and not just, you know, give some kind

00:05:50.000 of review in order to adhere to political correctness, but actually read the book on

00:05:55.100 its own merits. It has been widely appreciated and spoken of very highly. It's a book that I

00:06:04.800 personally read about a year ago, and many other individuals in the right-wing space within

00:06:10.180 Christian nationalism have read this book as well. Again, it's not well known, but I would encourage

00:06:17.120 you to check out Camp of the Saints if you have the opportunity to do so. We're actually working

00:06:22.300 on a publication of Camp of the Saints, revised and in English, because I believe the author was

00:06:30.140 actually French. And so the book has to be translated, but you can find certain copies

00:06:34.680 in certain places. And again, it's incredibly insightful. Think George Orwell, but more

00:06:42.820 more accurate, more likely. Not just, oh, it's AI, oh, it's the communists, oh, the Bolsheviks. 0.86

00:06:49.600 You know, you always see the MAGA guys, the Bolsheviks. Well, this actually kind of names

00:06:54.560 who the Bolsheviks are and the pawns that they use, which is infinity immigration from the third 0.86

00:07:00.180 world and the Western world losing its resolve to fight back because they want to be viewed 0.82

00:07:05.820 as nice. So Camp of the Saints gives a picture of the biblical picture, right? Camp of the Saints

00:07:13.520 is fiction. It's not infallible, but the biblical picture that we find in Revelation chapter 20,

00:07:18.560 verses 1 through 3, as well as verses 7 through 10, that all the world, the armies of Satan,

00:07:25.620 surround God's people, the camp of the saints, right? That Satan was locked away in the abyss,

00:07:32.820 no longer able to deceive the nations. The Christian gospel spreads out and goes forth

00:07:39.500 and Christianizes the known world at the time. Every nation becoming Christian, not just

00:07:46.240 private, personal faith, individual people being converted religiously, but whole societies,

00:07:54.320 civilizations being Christianized, their law, their customs, art, philosophy, everything. 0.54

00:07:59.140 The known world being Christianized for this metaphorical thousand years of Christendom,

00:08:05.660 where the gospel goes forth, the nations are discipled, and then there's this short season, 0.93

00:08:12.920 it's short, where the abyss is unlocked, Satan resurfaces, and he's able to deceive nations

00:08:20.020 again, he's not able to deceive the people of God, so there's this metaphorical city,

00:08:26.000 this place and some would say you know well oh it's the antichrist and it's uh jerusalem you

00:08:32.480 know they're surrounding um israel no i it's it's god's people it doesn't say satan's people the

00:08:38.660 devil's people sons of the devil that's what jesus says in john chapter 8 you know sons of the devil

00:08:44.460 no they're surrounding god's people god's sons so christians not people who hate christ right not

00:08:50.120 Israel, but actual Christians surrounded by the rest of the world that now has reverted back into

00:08:56.400 deception, being deceived by Satan, has turned against the Christian world, whatever that is, 0.52

00:09:02.760 wherever that is, viewed by God as a city that he loves, and they're surrounded on all sides,

00:09:09.260 but like a remnant, they persevere during this short season of intense fury from Satan, and then

00:09:15.800 God comes and rescues them.

00:09:17.940 That's Revelation chapter 20, and that's the same kind of fictional picture that's played

00:09:22.120 out in the novel Camp of the Saints.

00:10:30.760 work, alienation, revolution, mere sport, leisure, a privilege of class, marijuana, a harmless weed,

00:10:37.900 family, a stifling hothouse, affluence, oppression, success, a social disease, sex, an innocent

00:10:45.240 pastime, youth, a permanent tribunal, maturity, the new senility, discipline, and attack on

00:10:51.460 personality. He's describing the decay of the West, and he says Christianity and the West. 0.96

00:10:58.960 He continues, on this Easter Sunday evening, 800,000 living beings describing this mass 0.94

00:11:03.520 flotilla that departs from india very prescient 800 000 living beings and thousands of dead ones

00:11:08.880 were making their peaceful assault on the western world tomorrow would all be over and now rising up

00:11:14.140 from the coast to the hills to the villages to the house and its terrace a gentle chanting

00:11:18.120 yet so very strong for all its gentleness like a kind of sing-song droned by a chorus of 800 000

00:11:23.920 voices long long ago the crusaders had sung as they circled jerusalem on the eve of their last

00:11:29.580 attack. And finally, this quote, it's not directly related to Christianity, but it's so good. And we

00:11:33.540 see examples of this happening even now. There was a video that circulated last week in Britain of

00:11:38.520 a migrant, a Muslim-looking Middle Eastern man. He was taking down a wall because he didn't want to

00:11:43.380 go through the work of going around it. And so there's this beautiful stone wall that likely

00:11:48.340 stood for over a thousand years, but to him it was nothing more than just in the way. And so he took

00:11:52.600 to taking the stones off of them so that he could ascend without having to be inconvenienced to go

00:11:57.220 around. And this quote circulated and it's so prescient. Your universe has no meaning to them.

00:12:02.220 The Western world, no meaning to them. The third world, they will not try to understand. They will 0.99

00:12:06.660 be tired. They will be cold. They will make a fire with your beautiful oak door. And again,

00:12:12.480 we're using this book, this fictional book as an example to point to the larger image,

00:12:16.500 the larger idea, which is an idea that none of us are necessarily signing on right now and saying,

00:12:20.760 we think this is absolutely how it is. We've got the interpretation for the end times. We know how

00:12:25.660 it ends, and this is it. But what we are saying is, it's worth considering. It's worth considering

00:12:30.720 the exegesis. It's worth framing and saying, this is possible. And so all the way back to the book,

00:12:36.980 it's an attack on the West. It's an attack on Christendom. And specifically, it's the apathy

00:12:41.400 of the state. It's the apathy of government. And it's also apathy of the church. The church

00:12:46.200 in the book is the tool, are the individuals that are advocating for welcoming these groups in,

00:12:51.820 that are saying, lay down your arms, be welcoming, don't put up resistance. We have humanitarian

00:12:56.600 concerns. Instead of the church and the state saying, no, you have a duty to protect the people

00:13:01.100 of France. We have a duty to protect our culture. We have a duty to keep others safe. It's the church

00:13:05.800 and state together that both lay back and say, we're not going to do anything. We're not going

00:13:09.700 to put up a fight. Yep. Yep. Well said. I'm seen in the chat right now, and I don't necessarily

00:13:18.040 disagree. I think there's some good insightful comments in the chat. Became Numa is saying

00:13:23.900 Satan's little season happened already in the first century during the great tribulation before

00:13:29.340 his Christ's second coming. So if you're not familiar with that theology, I'll break it down

00:13:34.100 briefly. The idea is that Christ in his second coming has already occurred. So this is a

00:13:41.260 preterist view of the scripture, and particularly the New Testament. The technical label would be

00:13:48.660 partial preterist. So this position doesn't say that every single jot and tittle, every verse of

00:13:54.220 the New Testament has already been fulfilled. Preterist is just from the Latin. It means

00:13:57.740 past or fulfilled. But the partial preterist view is that there are many New Testament texts

00:14:03.560 that traditionally evangelicals and Protestants and Catholics, for that matter, think are still

00:14:10.120 in our future, and yet these New Testament texts, inspired by the Holy Spirit, the apostles, when

00:14:15.380 they wrote them, it was in their future, but long in our past. So this view would insist that Jesus'

00:14:22.520 second coming, his parousia, his second coming, has already taken place. It happened in AD 70,

00:14:29.520 and it was not a final physical return of Christ for which we are still waiting. That's the final

00:14:34.980 physical return of Christ, but that there was a second coming of Christ that was spiritual,

00:14:41.000 that Christ in his glorified body after his resurrection and ascension to the right hand

00:14:45.340 of God the Father, he is seated in his glorified physical body at the right hand of God the Father,

00:14:49.880 but spiritually, the spirit of the risen Christ did return to Israel, Jerusalem, and through

00:14:56.780 providence, through his sovereignty, used Titus to sack the temple, to sack Jerusalem, and to bring

00:15:02.960 judgment on the very people who 40 years, give or take before, crucified the Lord of glory. The

00:15:10.620 Jewish people at that time who yelled, crucify him, crucify him. This is now 40 years later in

00:15:16.320 AD 70. Jesus says this in the Olivet Discourse in Matthew chapter 24. He says, this generation will

00:15:22.560 not pass away. And people try to make that a metaphor or something symbolic. But what if

00:15:28.940 Jesus was being literal? What if he actually meant there are people in the crowd, as I'm preaching

00:15:33.960 in Matthew chapter 24, next to the temple mount, he says, I tell you the truth, this temple, not one

00:15:39.660 stone will be left on top of another. This is actually one of the most profound and precise,

00:15:45.840 specific prophecies that Jesus ever gives. And he says, this generation will not pass away until 0.99

00:15:50.780 these things come to pass. And then 40 years later, when many of those individuals still

00:15:55.900 would have been alive, that generation had not yet passed away, they actually saw the fulfillment

00:16:00.600 to the very words of Christ that he made 40 years prior, before his crucifixion, in Matthew chapter

00:16:07.220 24. The temple was sacked, Titus and the Romans, they sacked the temple, and it was inladen with

00:16:13.140 gold, and so they actually took every single stone that was on top of another and removed them and

00:16:19.480 scraped off the gold so that they could collect it and bring it into their treasuries. And so this

00:16:24.840 perfect fulfillment to the words of Christ and this great calamity, this great tribulation. 0.65

00:16:31.540 Many people who stayed in Jerusalem, the Jewish people who stayed there, that did not heed the 0.86

00:16:36.480 words of Christ and flee to the hillsides and run, those who tried to stay, saying, well, God will,

00:16:42.980 he's our protector, God will save us, God will protect us. No, the God that they were claiming

00:16:47.680 would protect them is God the Father, the Lord Jesus Christ, and is providentially actually the

00:16:53.840 one who is causing the Romans to come and sack the city as a direct judgment because they rejected

00:17:00.800 Christ and crucified the Lord of glory. And so some would say that Satan's little season was

00:17:07.800 those few months or a year or so of that tribulation, that great tribulation where

00:17:14.000 Jerusalem, the city, literally fell into the hands of the Romans and was decimated, that that was the 0.96

00:17:19.780 time of Satan's release, and I understand that position, and I'm inclined towards it. So for me, 0.97

00:17:25.980 in terms of my eschatology, I am post-millennial. In other words, I believe that Christ will return

00:17:33.560 after, not before, and I don't think rapture is not biblical. That's a dispensational Zionist 0.96

00:17:41.020 theology, and so I don't believe in a literal rapture, and I don't believe that Christ is going 0.63

00:17:47.080 to return before he sets up his millennial kingdom, right? That thousand years, whether

00:17:53.460 it's exact, literal, or metaphorical, the season of Christ ruling and reigning tangibly on earth,

00:17:59.280 the millennial kingdom. Pre-millennialism is the idea that Christ is going to return pre, before

00:18:05.200 the millennial kingdom, before he sets up his earthly, tangible reign for a thousand years,

00:18:11.780 whether that thousand years be literal or metaphorical. He's going to return before that,

00:18:15.820 pre-millennial. I am post-millennial. I believe that the final physical return of Christ will come

00:18:20.800 after his millennial kingdom, his rule here on earth, and I believe that we are in that millennial

00:18:26.480 kingdom that we have seen throughout 1,500 years of Christendom, tracking all the way back. You

00:18:32.280 could go back to, you know, a thousand years ago, King Alfred, but you could go 1,500 years, give or

00:18:36.900 take, all the way to Constantine, that the known world, and particularly the Western world, has been

00:18:42.740 thoroughly Christianized by the gospel, by the writing of the New Testament, the Old Testament,

00:18:48.740 the Christian faith, you have biblical case law in every Western country. You have

00:18:53.780 elongated lifespans. You have diseases eradicated. You have Christianized arts and philosophy and

00:19:01.700 mass conversions. And so the Christian church, which is Christ's body, so Christ in his glorified

00:19:08.920 body, seated at the right hand of God, the Father Almighty, but Christ is the head of the church,

00:19:12.800 so his body is his hands and feet. The church is the body of Christ, his hands and feet on earth.

00:19:18.840 So Christ has been reigning on earth in a tangible way through the church, not aside from the church,

00:19:25.800 separate from the church, or despite the church, but through the church for these last 1,500 years,

00:19:31.520 and this has been his millennial kingdom. Now the question is, before his return, final physical

00:19:38.080 return, is the millennial kingdom going to strengthen or was that it? Did we experience

00:19:44.680 Christendom and now it's simply going to wane until the end? This little season, did this

00:19:50.500 Satan's little season occur in AD 70 and then we've been in this millennial kingdom afterwards

00:19:56.920 or could you make an argument that Satan's little kingdom comes after, or Satan's little season

00:20:03.580 comes after the millennial kingdom, that we experience Christendom, and now Satan has been

00:20:08.180 released from the abyss and permitted to deceive the nations once more. And that's why all these

00:20:14.600 Christian nations have become liberal and progressive and abandoned, apostatized from the 0.89

00:20:20.280 Christian faith. And we have all these third world countries that are not Christian, that are invading 1.00

00:20:25.100 and overwhelming these Western countries. There is an argument to be made, and some guys have

00:20:32.200 made that argument, and it is compelling. Every generation, for a while at least, has thought that

00:20:37.820 they're in the end times. Martin Luther, he thought for sure this was the final season, that the Pope

00:20:41.960 was the Antichrist. It's pretty common to think this is the end. Nuclear war, I mean, nuclear

00:20:46.320 weapons, we can't be anything more than days away from the end. But what's compelling about this is

00:20:51.120 if you read the passage, Satan goes out to deceive the nations in the four corners of the earth.

00:20:55.600 Nations is the idea of birth, of lineage, of races. He goes out to deceive the races of the earth and

00:21:01.100 to gather them for battle, and a number there like the sand on the seashore. That actually 0.99

00:21:05.280 wouldn't be descriptive of Luther's time. That wouldn't be descriptive of the 30 years

00:21:09.160 war that happened in Europe. That wouldn't be descriptive even of necessarily the Cold

00:21:13.400 War. But if you think of the camp of the saints as the third world, and you think of Christendom

00:21:18.300 primarily as centered in Europe, then all of a sudden you're numerous as the sands of

00:21:23.140 the seashore. That actually kind of begins to make sense, surrounding God's people, God's

00:21:27.840 people banding together, saying, no, we are, you know, we're not the same racially, but we're also

00:21:32.920 Christian. And that's what sets us apart. And so we're not going to lay down and take this

00:21:36.380 banding together, gathered up into the city, the city of God's people, and surrounded in this case,

00:21:42.080 literally, not just figuratively, but literally by the nations of the earth, marshaled against them,

00:21:47.620 hating them, and seeking to destroy them. Yeah, that's well said. I think that's exactly why I 0.96

00:21:51.680 think this is so interesting. Like, if I read verse 7, I think the plain reading of the text,

00:21:55.380 and when the thousand years are ended, Satan will be released from his prison

00:21:58.200 and will come out to deceive the nations, to your point, Wes.

00:22:00.700 I would say it strikes me, plain reading strikes me as temporally we see Christ reign

00:22:05.320 and then we see Satan's little season and the mass deception.

00:22:09.140 And I think it comports, I mean, there are certainly analogs,

00:22:11.360 and I'm not going to say this is the only time that there have been analogs to passages like this.

00:22:15.040 Obviously, you can look back in history and you could have pointed to the French Revolution

00:22:18.700 and secularization of Europe in the 18th century and said,

00:22:22.240 oh, man, this is the decline of Christendom.

00:22:25.480 And that's the thing, is you can go a little bit later with the start time and a little bit earlier with the decline.

00:22:30.340 You can do 1,500 years for sure from King Alfred.

00:22:32.880 You can also kind of fit 1,000 in there.

00:22:34.800 And so this does have the advantage.

00:22:36.580 One of the ways, if you don't read it as this, is you're going to have to say, well, the 1,000 years is speaking typologically, right?

00:22:41.760 God owns the cattle on 1,000 hills, not a literal 1,000 hills that could be counted one by one.

00:22:46.040 But the idea, he owns it all.

00:22:48.620 You have to do the same thing with this passage.

00:22:50.240 Christ's rule and reign, if it is 50,000 years, then you would say this is symbolic.

00:22:54.380 it's a thousand years, the fullness of time is how long he reigns. One of the advantages of this,

00:22:59.240 not the only advantage, and there are disadvantages, but one of the advantages of this is to say

00:23:03.080 he had a thousand years. It did happen. He promised that Christ would rule and reign and subdue the

00:23:07.920 world, and he did. He subdued the known world, as you were saying, elevated everything from art and

00:23:13.200 music and theology and philosophy and medicine. He elevated all of them and then let Satan out

00:23:18.280 one final time to surround the saints, and there God will display his salvation, raining down fire

00:23:23.580 on the wicked and bringing about the final judgment yeah and globalization is i think the

00:23:27.580 interesting element here when you hear like language that alludes to the four corners of

00:23:31.440 the earth i think it it works in both ways so we think of christendom predominantly in europe but

00:23:36.200 there were colonies literally in all four corners of the earth i mean there was expeditions to

00:23:40.500 our antarctica for goodness sake and under the british empire and so uh you actually do see

00:23:45.360 christendom spread to india places like indian colonization and southwest asia or southeast

00:23:50.260 Asia, I should say. And so you do see Christendom spread. And then likewise, in this globalized

00:23:55.680 world, we also see this massive connectivity in a way of nations engaging with other nations,

00:24:01.240 hundreds of nations now having relations with one another and fighting and proxy battles and

00:24:05.640 all of these things. And so it really does be, the language itself, it becomes more relevant,

00:24:11.420 I suppose, as time goes on, technological advancement. And why did colonization in

00:24:15.220 Christendom fail in places like India and Africa? Because they came weak and they didn't want to 0.99

00:24:19.780 preserve it right satan goes out to deceive the nation so christianity spreads across the earth

00:24:25.700 they have a foothold they're christianizing their teaching they didn't just go to say we're going

00:24:29.560 to take all the lumber and the resources from india they taught them christianity they taught

00:24:33.300 them the scriptures they educated them in reading but then there came a point it was after world war

00:24:41.680 we're going to give it all up and as they give it all up they revert back to their paganism they

00:24:51.760 marshalling it eventually migrate in mass right and the marshalling is important too because a

00:24:56.840 lot of these colonies they're they're now defined in their anti-colonialism against christendom so

00:25:03.560 it's not like it's not necessarily like oh christians have left and like we were left to

00:25:07.420 our own devices and we've kind of we just like regressed right it's actually no we we reject
