Summary

In the wake of the attempted assassination of Donald Trump, the American people seem to have come together to celebrate their victorious hero. But if we look over to their old foes, what do we see in the Democratic Party? Are they united in their hatred of Trump? Or are they cold, mechanical, unwelcoming, rigid, and ruthless?

00:00:00.560 As an Englishman, I look into American politics from the outside and I really can't believe
00:00:05.640 what I'm seeing. Things look to me so starkly like a contest, between good and bad, that
00:00:12.860 I might as well be watching Lord of the Rings play out in real life.
00:00:17.420 The Trump insurrection within the Republican Party seems to be essentially complete, having
00:00:21.840 completely sidelined the Rhinos and turned it into the party of MAGA. In the wake of
00:00:27.440 the attempted assassination of Trump and the stout-heartedness he displayed on that day,
00:00:32.420 the RNC took on the aspect of a triumphal parade in which the American people seemed to come
00:00:37.880 together to celebrate their victorious hero.
00:00:40.920 As I was watching the events, all I could see was warmth, compassion, humour, and humanity
00:00:45.960 coming from the MAGA crowd. They all looked like they were having fun being together and
00:00:51.120 they looked profoundly happy to be where they are and proud to be doing what they were doing.
00:00:56.040 It was delightful to see the delegates beaming faces as they announced their votes for Trump.
00:01:01.480 It was wholesome and clearly the expression of an organic spirit of unity.
00:01:06.540 Sure, it was a bit corny at times, and there was a certain amount of American exuberance
00:01:13.560 which might overwhelm the senses of the more reserved types, particularly when Hulk Hogan
00:01:18.220 ripped off his shirt and declared that Trump-mania was running wild.
00:01:22.660 But I thought it was amazing, and above all, authentic. It was like watching the world's
00:01:28.100 largest family barbecue.
00:01:30.100 It's clear that they all view themselves as a part of a great patriotic movement that
00:01:35.660 will save and restore the United States to the nation that it used to be, and each person
00:01:41.540 is evidently honoured to be playing their part in it. They obviously aren't doing this
00:01:46.220 for themselves alone. They're doing it for others. For future generations. For people
00:01:51.860 who can't yet speak for themselves. And there's no doubt as to the legitimacy of the movement.
00:01:58.700 Trump has been through the fire, and come out on the other side, bloodied but unbowed.
00:02:04.280 The mandate of heaven is upon him, and he is the unchallenged leader of the patriots.
00:02:09.800 He has walked his hero's journey, and has the scars to prove it. Nobody doubts that they're
00:02:15.860 united, and that their hearts are in the trim. There is no discord in this, because there
00:02:22.140 are no contradictions. Everyone knows that they are doing the right thing for the right
00:02:26.700 reason, and they know the right result all of this will bring about. They are going to
00:02:31.960 fight, and they intend to win.
00:02:33.860 But if we look over to their old foes, what do we see in the Democrat Party? By contrast,
00:02:41.220 the Democrats look cold, mechanical, unwelcoming, rigid, and ruthless. Joe Biden himself is an
00:02:47.920 absentee figurehead president, the formal representation of an obscure bureaucracy populated by conniving
00:02:55.060 worm tongues, whose entire political power base is constructed through appeals to the darkest
00:03:00.580 and most grasping depths of the human soul. Everything about them seems self-interested,
00:03:06.880 self-serving. They are conceited, mistrustful, devious, callous, and moreover, all of this
00:03:12.520 is just out in the open. Every single one of them insisted for years now that Biden was
00:03:18.540 in perfect health and a model candidate, and when it became evident that Biden's cognitive
00:03:23.580 decline was beyond the point of denial, the apparatus of the party effortlessly removed
00:03:28.940 him and replaced him in a bloodless coup before our very eyes, just for everyone to see.
00:03:36.240 The ambitious party apparatchiks, who had previously pledged their undying fealty to Biden only a
00:03:42.280 few days before, without a moment's hesitation or a tear shed, pledged their new allegiance to
00:03:49.020 his apparent successor Kamala Harris, who was chosen by some arcane and inexplicably anti-democratic
00:03:55.700 process to become the new figurehead of the machine.
00:04:00.000 The adherents of the ideology that controls the democrat party cloak themselves in the language
00:04:06.000 of good and right, but the more the mask slips, the more that we can see the gunmetal gleam
00:04:11.600 of the hard power underneath the soft rhetoric, the moving sharp-toothed gears of something distinctly
00:04:18.880 inhuman. It reveals itself in the insincere platitudes that they are all forced to utter
00:04:25.180 in a vain attempt to weave together some convincing tale of how Kamala Harris is apparently the best
00:04:32.100 person they have for the job, despite it being so patently and obviously untrue.
00:04:37.180 Until yesterday, nobody had great affection for Harris, but now we are supposed to believe
00:04:43.180 that she is some kind of beloved motherly figure for their movement, and they've always thought
00:04:48.100 well of her. It's total nonsense, but the machine would have us believe it for its own ends.
00:04:55.480 However, anyone can see that there is no real love surrounding Harris, and everyone knows it.
00:05:02.480 She is just the next tooth of the cog as it grinds into place. It's her time because of a predetermined
00:05:10.340 set of power structures within the party, which is why they won't have a primary election.
00:05:15.280 They will simply install her and expect the rest of the party to fall into line, even though
00:05:20.760 internally there is far from consensus on the issue.
00:05:24.500 The fundamental problem the Democrats have is that the pleasant fictions of their own story
00:05:29.780 have grown too far apart from the brute facts of reality. And where this narrative has torn,
00:05:36.040 we can see the greasy political engine beneath the surface, a construct of lies and machinations
00:05:42.700 designed to accomplish… what exactly? What are the Democrats even selling at this point?
00:05:50.900 What is their vision of a decent future? How can they help realise the human goods that we
00:05:55.220 expect politics to facilitate? It seems that underlying whatever they do is a self-interested
00:06:02.100 drive towards a set of abstract liberal principles which have been adopted only out of resentment,
00:06:09.540 to be wielded as a sword against the American majority, and to be used as a shield against any
00:06:15.020 just critique of their evil acts.
00:06:18.220 It's no coincidence that the Democrats use this ideology to favour everything that is
00:06:24.780 foreign and strange over that which is homely and normal. It's no surprise that their coalition
00:06:31.820 is constructed from competing special interest groups, all vying for power within the machine,
00:06:38.060 and expecting to have their vices served by it.
00:06:42.660 So the question on every American's lips ought to be, who does this machine work for? And who does it work against?
00:06:49.780 What kind of world are they trying to bring about? And do you want that world for your children and grandchildren?
00:06:56.660 There is no doubt that evil can bring into alignment many avaricious and fearful factions,
00:07:02.740 but only good can bring into league all those of noble heart and courage, and I can't help but see this dichotomy
00:07:09.860 in the current American political cycle.
00:07:12.980 The issue is not about policy. It is about basic questions of right and wrong, the correct structuring of the moral universe,
00:07:21.220 and how society should be against how society should not be. And it seems evident to me that the party of secrecy,
00:07:29.460 betrayal, autocracy and outlanders must lose against the party of hearth and home, family and tradition.
00:07:37.460 So I say good luck to the American Fellowship. We believe in you. Your enemies will pull out every dirty trick in the book to lay traps for you wherever they can.
00:07:48.340 And you must be forever vigilant and on guard against their designs, and be ready to thwart them every chance you get.
00:07:55.940 They will do everything in their power to make you doubt, to make you stumble, to make you forget your way or give up.
00:08:04.020 But Mount Doom is in sight, and you are nearly there. Keep going.
00:08:08.820 You only have a few more battles to fight, and you already have everything you need to win.
00:08:18.340 You have been there. Keep going.
00:08:21.380 Je l den.
00:08:22.100 Je me en,
00:08:27.640 You are nearly there.
00:08:35.640 Bye bye.
00:08:37.000 Bye bye.
00:08:37.940 Bye bye.
00:08:38.880 Bye bye.
00:08:39.380 Bye bye.
00:08:39.800 Bye bye.
00:08:41.900 Bye bye by bye bye to you.
00:08:44.060 Bye bye bye.
00:08:45.600 Bye bye.
