00:08:51.880 I'm just doing it because people kept asking me to,
00:08:54.480 and I wanted to get them off my back.
00:08:57.560 The Shadow at Night livestream, as always,
00:08:59.660 is brought to you by CanadaNanoSilver.com.
00:09:03.920 Several natural health benefits,
00:09:05.840 and it's been used for hundreds of years for health and healing.
00:09:08.960 That's the main reason they made silverware from silver.
00:09:11.940 But seriously, this NanoSilver from SilverCeuticals
00:09:14.300 is the best and safest silver you can find.
00:09:16.860 There are hundreds of studies and reports on it.
00:09:18.500 I've read some of the studies myself and it's mind-blowing.
00:09:22.180 One of the things that sets silverseuticals apart is that it washes out of your body in
00:09:25.640 24 hours.
00:09:26.920 No silver buildup and no turning blue.
00:09:29.520 And it won't even harm the good bacteria your body needs.
00:09:32.780 It's so effective they can use very small concentrations of silver, like 10 and 32 parts
00:09:37.440 per million, and still outperform other silvers that have up to 3,000 parts per million.
00:09:42.780 It's safer and more effective at the same time.
00:09:46.040 It is an incredibly small particle that is small enough to work through your body, but
00:09:49.780 big enough not to fall out of suspension.
00:09:51.860 They infuse it into almost all of their products.
00:09:54.080 It works in facial serums, toothpaste, gels, and even gummies that work to help your immune
00:09:58.340 system.
00:09:59.340 So I had a brief chat with Kev from Kevin and Anna, Canada Nano Silver.
00:10:04.360 By the way, call them 204-808-9292 if you're interested in any of these awesome products.
00:10:10.000 Check out the website as well, CanadaNanoSilver.com.
00:10:13.640 He said, what a great day they had.
00:10:16.280 First day at the Yorkton Spring Expo at Gallagher Center in Yorkton.
00:10:19.920 It closed down at 7 o'clock tomorrow, 10 a.m. till 7 p.m.,
00:10:23.600 and then Sunday from 10 till 4.
00:10:25.900 And they're giving away a basket of their items with every purchase.
00:10:31.840 So if you made a purchase today,
00:10:33.780 you're planning to make a purchase tomorrow at the Yorkton Spring Expo,
00:10:36.600 or on Sunday, you'll be eligible to win this huge basket of goodies
00:10:41.140 from CanadaNanoSilver.com.
00:10:44.260 Again, that is CanadaNanoSilver.com.
00:10:46.960 All right, remember a couple of weeks ago,
00:10:48.820 I think the first time I brought it up,
00:10:50.760 I was saying that these rallies are big,
00:10:53.900 but they're not as big as the Conservatives
00:10:56.700 or the Liberals, for that matter,
00:10:58.420 are making them out to be.
00:10:59.760 For example, in Winnipeg,
00:11:01.160 and this is the only one I can speak on with authority
00:11:03.320 because I was there, not inside,
00:11:05.500 but I was outside,
00:11:06.960 and I saw a lot of people lined up.
00:11:08.860 They were saying it was 3,500 people.
00:11:11.140 I say more like maybe 1,500, 2,000 tops, all political parties pad their numbers.
00:11:20.200 They all do.
00:11:21.680 And so the CBC thought, you know what?
00:11:23.580 We're going to go and count because of that interaction, I'm sure, that Polly have had
00:11:28.580 with a reporter regarding the size, the size matter, the crowds that they were getting
00:11:33.620 at these rallies.
00:11:34.600 So here's what they had to say.
00:11:36.380 Liberals and conservatives said their rallies drew thousands.
00:11:38.920 We decided to count.
00:11:39.820 You know, come on, Mark Carney. Give me a break. Hand-counted images of rallies yield significantly smaller numbers, the CBC says. And again, this is no surprise, but the size of the crowds for political rallies, at least on the conservative side, does seem to be well above average.
00:11:58.700 I mean, when was a political rally ever a thing that you went to?
00:12:04.500 I don't recall ever going to a political rally except for a couple of weeks ago.
00:12:09.580 Political campaigns may be significantly off base when it comes to the number of people they say are present at campaign rallies across the country.
00:12:17.540 A CBC News investigation shows.
00:12:22.600 Investigation.
00:12:23.700 Like they sent somebody to a rally.
00:12:25.960 One, two, three, four.
00:12:27.780 that is hard-hitting journalism baby how is the media trying to suppress public opinion
00:12:35.660 public sentiment how are they doing that we're gonna explore that a little bit later on in the
00:12:41.340 show both conservatives and liberals have held major rallies since the beginning of the federal
00:12:46.940 election with the conservatives in particular emphasizing the size of their events cbc news's
00:12:53.240 visual investigations team good lord hand-counted people in images taken at four rallies across the
00:13:01.140 country conservative rallies in surrey bc near edmonton liberal events in toronto and richmond
00:13:06.080 the investigation including expert analysis by crowd scientists
00:13:10.960 shows the actual number of people attending those rallies was likely far fewer than the counts the
00:13:19.340 campaigns published on social media or reported to journalists at the events. The conservatives
00:13:24.840 claimed the Edmonton rally was attended by 15,000 people. For example, CBC News counted roughly 1,558
00:13:31.900 in one panorama photo shared by the campaign. Again, you cannot tell from photos. You have to
00:13:39.940 be there in person to see it. Great investigation, CBC News. Even assuming that a large number of
00:13:47.260 attendees were missed due to perspective or obstruction 15 000 is not possible according to
00:13:52.780 g keith still an expert in crowd dynamics and safety who is a visiting academic professor of
00:14:00.040 crowd science at the university of suffolk cbc news asked still to analyze the events
00:14:04.980 his hand counts were similar to our team's for all four events still noted that hand counts carry a
00:14:10.520 margin of error of five percent what 15 000 looks like well yeah right i mean it's a hockey game
00:14:15.940 that's the arena in winnipeg where the jets play it's called canada life center maximum capacity
00:14:21.720 is 15 321 and similarly the liberals said their rally in richmond had 2 000 people in the main
00:14:30.240 room cbc news's count corroborated by still puts the number closer to 800 the manual count as with
00:14:37.140 the other rallies was done by dividing images into grids and tallying the heads possible look
00:14:41.840 you can't tell from photos i don't care what anybody says you simply can't because one foot
00:14:50.760 one photo does not cannot capture the entire facility it just can't you're going to miss the
00:14:58.960 people behind you you're going to miss the people in the corners you're going to miss the people in
00:15:02.500 the back the hallway the ones outside who couldn't get in i mean i totally understand what they're
00:15:09.160 trying to do there but you got to be there and see it with your own eyeballs or else you cannot
00:15:16.320 you simply cannot guesstimate and it's scientific it's scientific no it's not you're not seeing the
00:15:23.000 whole thing uh the pleb or maybe right blend was at the pierre poly of rally in windsor earlier
00:15:29.140 today and here's what that looked like a couple of hours before the doors open all right we're
00:15:33.400 two hours here before the event look at this lineup of people waiting to get in and the and
00:15:40.220 the cars are just rolling in off the street this rally here in windsor is going to be absolutely
00:15:49.000 huge hello what's up what's up yeah i'm here i'm here look at this lineup crazy yeah
00:15:58.180 All right, again, you know, I mean, people are excited to be there.
00:16:03.720 It didn't look like it was that huge.
00:16:05.540 Windsor is a city of roughly 300,000,
00:16:08.460 and it's largely voted NDP for the last 100 years or so,
00:16:13.640 or since the NDP has been a party.
00:16:16.040 That's where Windsor goes when they place their votes.
00:16:18.680 So you wouldn't expect a conservative rally in Windsor to be that big.
00:16:22.500 But nonetheless, there are hundreds of people there, it looks like.
00:16:26.920 Would you consider that story by the CBC to be an attempt at suppressing public sentiment?
00:16:37.860 Yeah, I think so.
00:16:39.300 They're trying to dampen the enthusiasm of the electorate.
00:16:45.060 And again, we'll give you better examples of that as we continue with the show here.
00:16:50.120 Let's throw this up on the screen.
00:16:51.240 And Ryan Alford says in the National Post that, Pierre, you know how you've been hearing for the past year,
00:16:58.300 Polyev won't get a security clearance.
00:17:00.620 How could he be the prime minister if he won't get a security clearance?
00:17:04.420 How does he know who's infiltrated?
00:17:07.520 Well, he's already got security clearance of a certain level through CSIS
00:17:12.280 because he's a member of the King's Privy Council, and also he was a former minister in the government.
00:17:18.760 You have to have a certain clearance level to attain that position, or vice versa.
00:17:25.280 So, Alford here says,
00:17:27.600 Polyev has been vindicated for refusing the security clearance.
00:17:30.960 Had the conservative leader gone through with it,
00:17:32.920 he could have faced legal consequences for his comments on Chinese interference in this election.
00:17:37.480 Oh, yes.
00:17:38.980 Very, very, very interesting thought.
00:17:41.360 In an incident last month that may soon be considered ominous foreshadowing,
00:17:45.760 foreshadowing, Mark Carney was pressed by the media about his financial holdings and
00:17:49.920 the ethical conundrums that they present. To change the subject, Carney boasted about his
00:17:55.100 recently acquired security clearance and claimed it was irresponsible for the leader of the
00:18:00.540 opposition not to obtain one himself. This criticism flirted with the conspiracy theory
00:18:06.580 that Pierre Polyev would fail a background check, which ignores the fact that Polyev received
00:18:11.640 security clearance after becoming a cabinet minister in 2013, demonstrating that there
00:18:17.440 had been no concerns by security and intelligence officials about his loyalty to Canada or
00:18:22.100 compromising foreign connections. Unlike other party leaders, Polyev declined the offer to be
00:18:28.120 cleared in order to view an unredacted national security and intelligence committee of parliamentarians
00:18:33.080 and Sikop report on foreign electoral interference, which contained the names of parliamentarians
00:18:38.600 alleged to be witting or semi-witting accomplices.
00:18:42.220 And just as a quick aside here,
00:18:43.980 how on earth can you be a semi or unwitting accomplice
00:18:48.440 of a hostile foreign entity? 1.00
00:18:52.000 You gotta be dumb. 1.00
00:18:55.040 Hey, what's with all these Chinese people 1.00
00:18:57.820 following me around everywhere, 1.00
00:18:59.800 asking for things, telling me I'm great?
00:19:02.460 I don't know them. 0.97
00:19:03.900 how do you not know that you're that you're being used somehow that's an absolutely ridiculous
00:19:12.880 idea so oh where was they i guess maybe the the thing scrolled down on its own here
00:19:21.200 oh said it yeah right he noted that doing so would only lead to some breadcrumbs of intel
00:19:26.800 and then being told you can't talk about any of this stuff anymore that's what paulieff said
00:19:30.860 later his office reiterated any of this stuff anymore you can't talk about it sorry what the
00:19:38.880 heck i haven't been drinking or anything this is water i assure you in my shadow at night mug
00:19:43.860 later his office reiterated that unlike those party leaders who were willing to limit their
00:19:49.000 ability to hold the government to account on important issues of national security mr paliev
00:19:53.800 will not not be gagged after it came to light that liberal mp paul chang had suggested that
00:20:00.160 one of the Chinese Communist Party's most repressive laws should be enforced on Canadian
00:20:11.800 soil, urging his constituents to turn another candidate over to the Chinese consulate in 0.80
00:20:17.420 exchange for a bounty. Poliev's refusal to be briefed and therefore retain his ability to speak
00:20:22.760 freely would seem to be the correct choice. Owing to his lack of access to classified information,
00:20:30.160 Polyev was free to observe the Liberal Party had been reticent to stand up to a foreign hostile regime.
00:20:37.160 The ENSA COP foreign interference report had been redacted to obscure privileged information
00:20:42.140 that in its unclassified summary assessed that the PRC believes that its relationship with some members of parliament
00:20:49.860 rests on a quid pro quo that any member's engagement with the PRC will result in the PRC mobilizing its network in the members' favor.
00:20:58.640 Polyev had been cleared to read the unredacted report, which would have entailed him promising
00:21:04.560 not to reveal special operational information, and what he had read had included the actions
00:21:09.900 of PRC proxies.
00:21:11.920 Polyev's criticisms about the unwillingness of the liberal government to take these networks
00:21:15.760 seriously could lead to allegations that he had committed an offense under Section 13 of
00:21:21.340 the Security of Information Act, which carries with it a threat of up to 14 years in prison.
00:21:26.540 in other words he might have learned the details of lax responses to the ccp's influence operations
00:21:33.800 earlier but he would have been prevented from speaking to canadians on the topic when
00:21:38.260 it mattered the most and we're going to talk about that in just a little bit sam cooper has
00:21:44.340 unveiled some more stuff about the liberal party being compromised by high level chinese officials
00:21:49.060 also the highest levels of the bc government and a trudeau appointed senator remember i told you
00:21:56.000 yesterday that Mark Carney was taking today off from the campaign trail. He was going to have a
00:22:00.600 cabinet meeting to discuss the Trump problem. So all of the reporters gathered outside the
00:22:06.480 cabinet meeting room in the House of Commons in Ottawa earlier today, expecting to hear something
00:22:11.520 from Mark Carney. And instead, this is what they got what? Well, that's all for now. Thank you.
00:22:16.480 Okay. Reporters trying to get more questions in and hoping answers will come, but very few did.
00:22:28.400 I am struck by his not taking questions because he may have taken himself off the campaign trail, but there is still an election going on.
00:22:38.200 I'm not talking to you about anything we talked about that has to do with Canada. I'm unelected and don't have to.
00:22:46.480 i haven't got the time for you that's how it came off mark carney it appears would also
00:22:56.320 continue on or try to somehow reconstitute bill c63 this is the uh the end of the trifecta of
00:23:04.060 censorship bills the previous trudeau liberal government had implemented c11 c18 c63 would
00:23:10.700 have been and still may be the bill that could put you in jail for insulting somebody online
00:23:18.480 for 10 years or pay a $20,000 fine. Yeah. And the people who complain about it, the people who
00:23:24.740 report this stuff can remain anonymous forever. You're not allowed to face your accuser in this
00:23:30.920 situation. Here is Mark Carney talking about online hate, about Islamophobia and anti-Semitism
00:23:38.560 and blaming the Internet.
00:23:42.140 Unfortunately, the rising tide of hatred online is overflowing onto our streets.
00:23:50.940 Violence and intimidation have no place in Canada.
00:23:56.740 Anti-Semitism and Islamophobia must be denounced in the strongest possible terms.
00:24:02.420 And I am appalled by the horrific incidents and numerous incidents in our country in recent years.
00:24:12.720 Far too many violent Islamophobic attacks on mosques and other places of worship and community centers across the city and across this country.
00:24:24.500 Now, in that particular speech, he doesn't go as far as saying we will make sure to ban the Internet or...
00:24:32.420 seriously limit the internet so that islamophobia and anti-semitism and anti-racial hate can never
00:24:41.960 appear but you can imagine that's the direction he's going considering that's what they do in
00:24:46.520 europe where his best buddies are so we're going to stay on top of that one mark carney also now
00:24:52.980 this is uh i found this to be incredibly egotistical remember the other day when he said
00:25:01.100 and president trump and i have agreed to meet after the election to do to decide exactly how
00:25:06.180 our trade relations are going to work out just assuming that he was going to win the election
00:25:11.300 and then the next day he backpedaled and said whoever wins the election will sit down with
00:25:15.500 president trump and try to work out some arrangement well now carney according to the
00:25:20.800 national post is leaving instructions to help the next government prepare for trump
00:25:26.140 what i'm sure if the conservatives win they're going to want to do it on their own
00:25:33.020 but maybe these instructions are for somebody else carney and donald trump have agreed to
00:25:38.460 start negotiations on a new deal after the canadian election mark carney says his cabinet
00:25:44.460 has left instructions for officials to help prepare the next government
00:25:48.960 for upcoming negotiations with donald trump's administration hang on let me let me shut this
00:25:55.100 down here before it starts playing on its own okay
00:25:57.900 done so today carney put his election campaign on hold as i was saying for the third time in
00:26:07.480 three weeks to convene and try to look important that's all this is i'm trying to look prime
00:26:11.860 ministerial i'm trying to i'm take i'm taking valuable time uh off the campaign trail because
00:26:19.140 Canada needs me. That's how it comes off to me. I can't believe there's people out there
00:26:25.900 voting liberal thinking this guy is the be-all and end-all. How did they not see the arrogance?
00:26:30.800 This is just an older, smarter, maybe, version of Justin Trudeau. That's all this is.
00:26:38.900 So he puts his campaign on hold for the third time in three weeks to convene a federal Canada-U.S.
00:26:44.320 relations cabinet meeting in ottawa after the meeting i'm not calling him the prime minister
00:26:49.260 there's people you know these reporters the prime minister no to me he's just some dude called mark
00:26:55.760 carney who's a banker i'm not calling him the prime minister he's he has no mandate carney told
00:27:02.600 reporters the meeting was to discuss the whirlwind of tariff announcements by the united states over
00:27:06.980 the past week he said the federal government has also begun preparing negotiations for a new trade
00:27:12.200 and security agreement with the U.S. after the election on April 28th, we left instructions for
00:27:18.620 officials to ensure that the next government, whichever government Canadians choose, is very,
00:27:24.160 very, very important to include that, will be in the best possible position for negotiations with
00:27:30.880 the United States, which, as the president and I have agreed, will begin from the start of May.
00:27:38.260 he did not take questions as i showed you earlier in french he bumbled that the instructions
00:27:46.520 included preparing regulations statistics and ways to respond to the u.s administration in
00:27:52.140 order to ensure effective negotiations you're so the conservatives are going to come in and go
00:27:58.060 okay uh thanks mark that's great thanks thanks very much for that like how is this
00:28:07.920 even a freaking story the media what they're trying to do is fill space here during his first
00:28:15.600 and then they fill in with something that happened two weeks ago the media is just deplorable in this
00:28:20.160 country garney said the president and he agreed that both countries should begin ah whatever i
00:28:27.160 mean we don't even need to see the rest of that this is an interesting story we're going to get
00:28:33.140 to in just a second but i want to play this for you this came out a couple of days ago this is that
00:28:37.520 Globe and Mail reporter talking to Mark Carney about him meeting with that Chinese lobby group
00:28:44.160 during the Liberal leadership race, and then talking about the replacement candidate he chose
00:28:50.960 in Markham Unionville in Toronto. Let's watch this again. Hi, I'm Judith Amelise, Globe and Mail.
00:28:57.960 My colleagues have a story today about a Liberal candidate's relations with
00:29:04.020 China-friendly groups in a meeting that you also held with a pro-Beijing group.
00:29:08.420 So my question is, why did you meet with this pro-Beijing group, Jiangsu Commerce Council
00:29:13.480 of Canada, and is the party okay with the fact that Liberal candidate Peter Yan has
00:29:18.020 been so close with the Chinese consulate and China-friendly groups, given the public inquiry
00:29:22.460 into foreign interference, says that this is a tactic China uses to exert influence?
00:29:27.280 Okay.
00:29:27.580 Well, I'm sorry, but you can't believe everything you read in the Globe and Mail.
00:29:30.920 Fake news!
00:29:31.440 So in your question, I guess in the article in question, you said I had a meeting with whatever your term was, a Beijing group.
00:29:39.920 I've never heard of this group.
00:29:41.640 OK, never heard of this group.
00:29:43.420 Certainly didn't have a set up meeting with this group.
00:29:46.520 Full stop.
00:29:47.620 OK, full stop.
00:29:48.760 Even though there's photos of you meeting with not one member of this group, but seven of them.
00:29:54.360 And it was right on their Web site.
00:29:55.640 By the way, the Liberal Party called that group, that Chinese lobby group, which is very closely tied to Beijing and the PRC, and told them to take down the photos of Carney on their website and to take down the story that they'd had a meeting with him.
00:30:13.380 The Liberal Party actually did that.
00:30:16.920 Let's continue.
00:30:18.020 Check your sources before you write things like that, okay?
00:30:21.040 Or your colleagues do.
00:30:22.860 I'm a politician.
00:30:24.940 I go to events where there are hundreds and thousands over the course of a day of different people there.
00:30:32.900 That is not a meeting.
00:30:33.960 If somebody happens to be in the room, takes a picture with me, that's not a meeting, okay?
00:30:37.980 First point.
00:30:38.860 Secondly, with respect to Mr. Yun, this is a person who has served his community for decades.
00:30:45.200 This is a person who is deputy commissioner of the police, okay?
00:30:50.060 A person in discharge of those responsibilities meets with a variety of community groups in the community because that's his job.
00:30:59.300 That's his responsibility.
00:31:01.380 We're proud to have him as a candidate, and I honor his service, including on today.
00:31:07.920 Thank you.
00:31:10.660 All right.
00:31:12.360 You honor his service.
00:31:13.660 Peter Yoon is the candidate's name, by the way.
00:31:17.460 Peter Youn, former high-level police officer in Toronto. So let's throw this up. No, wait,
00:31:23.260 let's not throw that up just yet. This is Bob Fyfe, who is a veteran reporter, been with the
00:31:30.080 Globe and Mail for years and years and years and years and years. He was on a CBC panel today.
00:31:35.700 What's your reaction to what Carney said today in the statement from the party?
00:31:38.800 Well, first of all, we never said that there was a meeting. We said that this organization
00:31:42.960 met him and according to their website they had an in-depth discussion that's the story and which
00:31:50.440 by the way that wasn't the focus of the story the focus of the story is on the liberal candidate in
00:31:57.700 the writing that was replaced by another liberal I know it's a union market market yeah sorry my
00:32:06.660 apologies. And this man named Peter Yan is a former deputy police chief. We've checked him
00:32:13.300 out, and he is being connected to Beijing-friendly organizations, including this organization who
00:32:20.920 met with Mr. Carney. They echo and repeat the lines of the Chinese Communist Party.
00:32:29.220 The other groups that Mr. Yan met with were the Chinese Freemations, which talks about
00:32:35.940 annexation of Taiwan. He's been celebrated and had many meetings with the Chinese consulate,
00:32:42.820 which we now know from the public inquiry into foreign interference that the Chinese consulate
00:32:47.760 is the key organizing body for all of these proxy groups that try to influence politicians.
00:32:53.700 So that was the point of our story. But here's the thing I want to talk about,
00:32:57.760 and I'm glad Mr. Carney raised this, because here's the reason why. This same group,
00:33:02.340 If you go to the website, after they met him, they wrote a laudatory thing about how great Mark Carney is, how great he is in going to improve Chinese-Canadian relations.
00:33:11.320 What did we find out on Monday?
00:33:13.260 The site committee, which looks into federal election interference, said that WeChat and China have been trying to mold public opinion involving Mr. Carney.
00:33:24.240 What are they molding?
00:33:25.600 Nice things about him.
00:33:26.780 What a tough guy he is, how he can take on the Americans.
00:33:29.240 So I guess the point here is, has anybody learned anything from the Foreign Interference Inquiry or not?
00:33:36.400 This is the strategy of China to try to influence no matter which political party you are. 0.54
00:33:43.080 And rather than trying to attack the media, why doesn't he just say, look, we have to do a better job of dealing with these kind of organizations that are trying to influence politicians?
00:33:55.100 Why doesn't he say that?
00:33:56.720 Because then he'd be admitting that his party is influenced by Chinese officials.
00:34:04.340 Heaven forbid they should ever admit that, especially during an election campaign.
00:34:09.040 Come on, Bob. 0.99
00:34:10.080 What are you, crazy? 0.99
00:34:13.280 They haven't admitted it yet. 0.96
00:34:15.920 As a matter of fact, that whole commission whitewashed everything, every single thing.
00:34:21.300 And we knew they would, just like every Trudeau-appointed commission has in the past 10 years.
00:34:28.400 So here's another one from the National Post.
00:34:30.480 They've been doing a good job, I've got to say, the last couple of days.
00:34:33.260 There's a couple of wonky ones, but this is not bad.
00:34:37.380 Liberal candidate who replaced Paul Chang, and again his name is Peter Jung,
00:34:42.000 attended Chinese military parade in 2015.
00:34:45.680 such trips are a classic tactic of beijing to woo ethnic chinese leaders and other key foreigners
00:34:57.700 experts say so let's read a little bit of this one there he is there more evidence has surfaced
00:35:04.220 of friendly ties between the chinese government and the liberal candidate who replaced an incumbent
00:35:09.180 criticized for his own approach to China. So let's replace one Chinese spy with another Chinese spy.
00:35:18.780 And then, of course, we're not going to admit it. And we're going to whitewash it. I'm glad the 0.94
00:35:24.240 left-wing corporate media has been at least trying to stay on top of this. And they need to get to
00:35:28.880 the bottom of it. Never mind the news cycle ending. Never mind looking for some fresh story.
00:35:34.340 This is what they have to dig into. What baffles me is why don't they talk to Sam Cooper?
00:35:38.960 This is the authority on Chinese interference in Canada.
00:35:44.180 They never mention Sam.
00:35:46.980 Peter Yun, the party's newly minted nominee in a Toronto area riding,
00:35:52.080 attended a massive military parade and show of martial strength in Beijing a decade ago
00:35:57.540 at the invitation of a Chinese agency dedicated to influencing ethnic Chinese in other countries.
00:36:04.840 the former toronto deputy police chief how he got that high in the organization is mind-boggling
00:36:15.100 and about 75 other overseas chinese from canada were put up in a beijing hotel principally to
00:36:24.260 watch a parade marking the 70th anniversary of the defeat of japan in the second world war stories
00:36:29.260 from chinese language media indicate another canadian invited to the event who asked not to
00:36:34.120 be named because of the sensitivity of the issue, confirmed in an interview that Yun was among the
00:36:39.920 attendees who stayed at the Doubletree Hilton and sat on bleachers in Tiananmen Square
00:36:45.320 to watch the parade pass by. The Canadians' accommodation and food were covered by the
00:36:52.340 Chinese, said the person who paid for his own airfare to Beijing and said others may have too.
00:36:58.160 Canadian delegates also attended other events during the trip, including the awarding of medals
00:37:02.880 to elderly veterans of the war, according to news stories.
00:37:06.820 Such trips are a classic tactic of Beijing
00:37:10.580 to woo ethnic Chinese leaders and other key foreigners,
00:37:15.220 said Chick Kwan of the Toronto Association for Democracy in China. 0.92
00:37:20.260 That tells you all you need to know about Chinese interference in our society,
00:37:24.400 he said.
00:37:25.240 Make them feel important, make them feel honored,
00:37:28.020 then they'll go home and do your bidding for you. 1.00
00:37:30.340 that's human nature 101 speaking of chinese interference we're going to get to this in just
00:37:39.380 a second with a story from sam cooper in the bureau on substack this one comes from global news
00:37:45.080 david eby directs the bc government to scrap he's still on the elbows up parade david eby i guess
00:37:53.280 didn't get the memo he has directed the bc government to scrap u.s contracts where viable
00:38:00.340 amid trump trade war whoop what the heck happened there never mind we don't need that story because
00:38:09.080 we've got this one keeping in mind what david evey just decided to do we're not going to go
00:38:15.920 into detail about that he's going to try and cancel u.s contracts whenever viable all right
00:38:20.420 he's instructed his government the bureaucracy of bc to do that so the headline on this story
00:38:27.360 from the bureau against sam cooper written yesterday diaspora researchers that's the
00:38:33.420 chinese diaspora link china's intelligence and elite influence arms to the bc government
00:38:40.860 so is it really china behind this because remember the only two countries who have
00:38:49.820 retaliated against donald trump's tariffs are china and canada did china instruct canada to
00:38:57.140 retaliate or did it just work out well for the liberals to try and take a hold of that
00:39:03.260 as the way to campaign campaign against donald trump and not polyev because you can't win that
00:39:08.920 one maybe it's a little from column a and a little from column b and there's also a trudeau
00:39:15.480 appointed senator in there so let's dig into this story here let's look at the connections
00:39:19.220 the guy makes that's incredible i'm not sure if you guys follow sam on the bureau.news but if you
00:39:29.180 don't then you probably should a powerful new investigative map released by diaspora researchers
00:39:36.300 traces political ties reaching from the communist chinese communist party controlled intelligence
00:39:41.260 networks to the highest levels of british columbia's government the visual expose centers
00:39:48.660 on Senator Yun Pao Wu and his pivotal role in welcoming Chinese state-linked entities into
00:39:54.800 Canadian institutions, an effort that resonates in a secretly recorded 2020 meeting obtained by
00:40:00.720 the Bureau in which Wu assured United Front figures he would help shield them from critical
00:40:06.340 scrutiny. Oh my God. These same United Front entities have been credited by Beijing for
00:40:14.640 their role in promoting Chinese-Canadian candidates during federal election campaigns.
00:40:20.280 Wu was appointed to the Senate by Justin Trudeau in 2016 with an official announcement citing his
00:40:25.940 work with the same entities now identified by diaspora researchers as Chinese-influenced
00:40:31.760 trade lobbies. And once again, do you think Donald Trump doesn't know how much China controls
00:40:39.680 Canadian bureaucracy politicians institutions of course he does the map titled from Ottawa to
00:40:48.120 Victoria is part of the ongoing dotting the map series from Canadian friends of Hong Kong
00:40:52.820 and found in translation two diaspora-led civil society groups built from open source records
00:40:58.720 the map draws direct lines between united front aligned business political and media organizations
00:41:04.820 and prominent Canadian leaders, including Senator Wu,
00:41:08.440 former B.C. Liberal Premier Christy Clark,
00:41:11.860 ex-Minister Teresa Watt, Premier David Eby's advisor Ding Gu,
00:41:17.300 or Gao, and Rise Media journalists.
00:41:21.420 Wow!
00:41:25.660 Whoa.
00:41:28.340 That's insane.
00:41:31.240 The researchers caution that no individual named in their report
00:41:34.100 is alleged to be, again, knowingly involved in Chinese influence activities. Again, how can you
00:41:39.680 not be knowingly involved? You got to suspect something. You know that feeling you get when
00:41:46.920 there's somebody behind you and you turn your head and there's somebody behind you? It's a
00:41:51.980 feeling. You know it. Your gut tells you this stuff. Rather, the mapping effort is designed
00:41:59.600 to educate voters by highlighting verified affiliations to Chinese state or military-linked
00:42:04.720 organizations. Rise Media, as reported by the Bureau, played a key role in supporting Mark
00:42:11.000 Carney's current liberal candidate Parm Baines in the 2021 contest, in which Baines upset
00:42:17.320 conservative incumbent Kenny Chu. That Richmond writing is one of the top three examples of
00:42:22.820 Chinese election interference overturning conservative candidates, according to
00:42:26.820 former conservative leader erin o'toole at the center of the new dotting the map diagram is
00:42:32.300 senator wu shown helping open pathways for china poly group a state conglomerate tied to the
00:42:38.280 people's liberation army and poly culture its cultural diplomacy arm the map shows that under
00:42:44.140 the liberal christy clark government with wu's active involvement british columbia approved
00:42:50.080 multi-million dollar partnerships with numerous shadow shadowy chinese entities via hq vancouver
00:42:56.380 a Canadian public-private entity created to draw foreign investment into Canada. 0.97
00:43:02.420 Holy crap.
00:43:04.140 Wu's name is also linked through board roles and event partnerships 0.81
00:43:07.400 to the Asia-Pacific Foundation of Canada and various CCP-aligned think tanks,
00:43:12.420 including those tied through joint programming to the International Liaison Department,
00:43:17.280 a CCP foreign intelligence arm.
00:43:20.380 This is sick.
00:43:21.820 According to the map, Wu co-organized a 2010 event in Canada with Henry Hu Wang, founder of the Center for China and Globalization, a think tank under the ILD that directly advises the Chinese State Council.
00:43:40.400 Wang and Wu...
00:43:42.880 I'm sorry, I shouldn't laugh.
00:43:48.840 Ever see that movie Murder by Death?
00:43:51.820 It's an oldie. It goes back to the 70s, Peter Sellers.
00:43:57.180 It's just what this reminded me of.
00:43:59.000 Anyway, Wang and Wu co-wrote articles and maintained overt links through the Asia-Pacific Foundation during Wu's tenure as president and CEO.
00:44:08.860 According to political scientist Anne-Marie Brady, the ILD is tasked with gathering intelligence on foreign politicians and political parties and developing asset relations with them.
00:44:20.920 In Justin Trudeau's October 2016 appointment notice,
00:44:24.100 Wu is credited for works including as president and CEO
00:44:27.280 of the Asia-Pacific Foundation of Canada from 2005 to 2014.
00:44:31.820 He led a major expansion of the organization
00:44:34.400 and spearheaded the National Conversation on Asia,
00:44:38.020 a three-year cross-Canada campaign
00:44:40.200 to highlight the growing importance of Asia in the world and for Canada.
00:44:45.060 Currently, he serves as president of HQ Vancouver,
00:44:47.660 a public-private partnership established to promote British Columbia
00:44:51.580 as a head office location for global firms.
00:44:56.640 Don't forget, China is very closely tied with Klaus Schwab
00:45:01.540 and the World Economic Forum.
00:45:04.160 Very, and Mark Carney for that matter.
00:45:06.440 Very closely tied.
00:45:09.340 This is that new geopolitical structure that we've been talking about.
00:45:12.940 Europe aligning with China.
00:45:17.660 I think that's what's going on right now. 0.64
00:45:19.780 And they're going to paint everybody else, the United States, Russia, and anybody who opposes them, as the axis of evil.
00:45:26.760 According to this map, Teresa Watt, while serving as a minister in Christy Clark's liberal government,
00:45:32.360 extended belt and road cooperation to B.C., joined Huawei and a local telecom firm and 5G research initiatives,
00:45:40.080 participated in multiple PRC-affiliated delegations, and came from a background in Chinese state-linked media.
00:45:46.540 she is also listed as having facilitated the involvement of chinese real estate tycoons in
00:45:51.680 provincial level discussions on infrastructure and housing remember for years reporters were
00:45:58.380 hounding justin trudeau hey you're gonna ban huawei you're gonna ban 5g huawei 5g when the united
00:46:04.020 states did it years before yeah we'll look into that we'll look into that i'm not sure if they
00:46:08.380 ever did. I don't think so. The map identifies Ding Gao, founder of the Canada Committee 100
00:46:18.200 Society, CCS 100. As a critical node, Gao is shown as a journalist from Shanghai who transitioned
00:46:25.800 into a leadership role in B.C. Chinese language media and political mobilization. As previously
00:46:31.820 reported by the Bureau in December of 2021, then-Attorney General David Eby approved a
00:46:38.140 $20,000 provincial grant to CCS 100, citing its anti-racism and Chinese diaspora engagement goals.
00:46:46.780 The grant was awarded while Gao served as a Chinese community advisor to Eby. A February
00:46:52.880 2021 report from a Chinese Communist Party organ cited CCS 100 among several Canadian groups praised
00:46:59.940 for voter education, mobilization, and fundraising efforts during the 2019 election cycle.
00:47:06.240 Premier Eby also awarded Ding Gao the King Charles III Coronation Medal, the researchers found.
00:47:15.220 Kenny Zhang, also named in the map, is shown occupying a dual role as a former executive of
00:47:21.040 HQ Vancouver and head researcher with Ding Gao's CCS-100. He was affiliated with Rise Media,
00:47:28.420 which promoted liberal candidate Parm Baines over MP Kenny Chu during the 2021 federal election campaign.
00:47:34.740 And Zhang was also awarded this King Charles III coronation medal by Senator Yun Pao Wu.
00:47:44.160 Wow.
00:47:46.580 The Bureau's publication of the Wu tape forms part of the evidentiary spine of the researcher's latest map.
00:47:53.400 all three, Ding Gao, Kenny Zhang, and Senator Yun Pao Wu, were present in this groundbreaking
00:47:59.860 piece of evidence. In the May 2020 recording, Senator Wu tells CCS 100 leaders, including
00:48:06.440 Ding Gao, that he will help protect their organizations from scrutiny and Canadian
00:48:11.060 public discourse, including inside Parliament. The remote online meeting captured on audio and
00:48:18.440 visual files held by the bureau included figures tied to the united front linked institutions
00:48:25.060 and media outlets aligned with prc narratives in the meeting wu states whether you belong to
00:48:32.340 an organization that happens to be listed as a united front organization should not be a litmus
00:48:37.860 test he continues i am fighting very hard against this type of criticism
00:48:43.060 the statements closely mirror the prc's own foreign messaging which frequently defends
00:48:50.180 its overseas political networks as benign civic or cultural organizations when the bureau sent
00:48:56.340 detailed questions to senator wu regarding the recording wu advised that questions should be
00:49:00.800 directed to the hoag commission who will cover it up the bureau also provided the tape recorded
00:49:07.260 evidence to cesis and asked the service to comment on whether the statements are relevant
00:49:11.980 to Wu's intervener status in the Hogue Commission.
00:49:15.060 Individuals purposefully aligning themselves
00:49:17.580 with the United Front Work Department-designated organizations
00:49:21.240 should understand its ongoing actions targeting members
00:49:24.560 of Canadian communities with harassment, manipulation,
00:49:27.060 or intimidation, spokesman Eric Balsam wrote
00:49:30.360 in a statement that didn't name Senator Wu.
00:49:34.900 The PRC uses its UFWD in Canada and around the world
00:49:38.560 to stifle criticism and manipulate Canadian communities.
00:49:42.680 These activities constitute a threat to Canada's sovereignty and to the safety of Canadians.
00:49:47.840 The researchers' findings, meant to educate voters during a Canadian election in which Mark Carney has already been boosted by disinformation from elite Chinese Communist Party intelligence entities,
00:50:01.320 take on added significance in light of sections of the map that link Senator Wu, the Asia-Pacific Foundation of Canada,
00:50:08.100 and affiliated organizations to the International Liaison Department.
00:50:13.640 The ILD is a powerful arm of the Chinese Communist Party
00:50:17.760 that experts identify as a covert influence in foreign intelligence agency
00:50:22.540 operating globally on behalf of Beijing's political interests.
00:50:30.260 Wow.
00:50:32.320 This is insane.
00:50:38.100 it goes deep, right? In his 2022 book, Spies and Lies, How China's Greatest Covert Operations
00:50:44.920 Fooled the World Author and Analyst Alex Joski, details how the ILD has historically conducted
00:50:51.060 clandestine activities aimed at shaping foreign perceptions and policymaking in favor of the
00:50:56.700 Chinese Communist Party. His research shows the department plays a central role in executing
00:51:03.180 covert influence operations targeting political, business, and academic elites abroad.
00:51:09.360 Meanwhile, as previously reported by the Bureau, a report that praised Premier David Eby's
00:51:16.300 advisor, Ding Gao, for helping mobilize Chinese-Canadian voters in 2019, also highlighted the importance
00:51:23.320 of the Liberal Party leader's outreach to the Chinese community in that contest. It noted that
00:51:29.300 Trudeau Jr. personally went to seek votes at a Chinese supermarket in Markham,
00:51:34.740 an area of Toronto where Chinese people live,
00:51:38.000 demonstrating that Chinese votes play an important role in the general election.
00:51:43.580 The report published by a united front-linked organization, ACF Rock, ROC,
00:51:51.740 also emphasized the key role of WeChat, that's the Chinese version of Facebook, in rallying voters.
00:51:59.300 It said 41 federal election candidates seen as of special interest to Beijing were nominated by different parties in the 2019 race, an increase from only 27 and 23 in 2015 and 2011.
00:52:17.980 Charles Burton, a respected China expert and Mandarin language analyst, reviewed the report for the Bureau.
00:52:23.060 He said the document identifies 41 distinguished Chinese candidates nominated in 2019,
00:52:29.960 so I judge the use of distinguished implies identification of candidates potentially useful to China's aims.
00:52:41.880 That's not all.
00:52:44.580 Look, here's Garnett Genis.
00:52:46.120 He is a conservative candidate in Alberta.
00:52:48.980 He's been an MP for years.
00:52:50.220 Now he's a candidate.
00:52:51.100 You can't call him an MP.
00:52:51.920 Listen to what he says here about the Eurasia Group.
00:53:21.920 right after the election, when they no longer need your vote.
00:53:27.840 Now, the Eurasia Group is a political risk consultancy.
00:53:32.960 Their whole business is projecting future events,
00:53:38.540 and, of course, they cultivate a network of contacts
00:53:42.000 and monitor information in order to be able to do that.
00:53:45.780 The Eurasia Group is very closely connected with senior liberals.
00:53:49.780 Mark Kearney's wife works there.
00:53:51.920 Our star candidate for the Liberals, Evan Solomon, worked there until very recently.
00:53:58.180 Gerald Butz works there, who is a big supporter of Carney's and was a senior advisor to Justin Trudeau.
00:54:06.860 So very close connection between the Eurasia Group and the Liberals.
00:54:10.560 The Eurasia Group's core business is projecting future events.
00:54:13.160 And the head of the Eurasia Group wrote publicly that he's expecting capitulation right after the election.
00:54:21.920 So this is the effective admission of what would likely come if Liberals were re-elected.
00:54:29.400 Liberals don't deserve a fourth term.
00:54:31.140 You have seen enough of Liberals saying one thing during an election and doing the opposite afterwards.
00:54:39.160 And this just completely undermines so many of the claims they've been making.
00:54:43.280 A strong, conservative, common-sense government will stand up for Canada against any threats, any pressures from outside or inside.
00:54:55.040 Interesting. We don't know if Genis is saying this as a campaign tactic or if he's actually hearing rumblings that, and maybe he is,
00:55:05.400 because there was, like I said, that cabinet meeting earlier today, well, let's just knuckle under.
00:55:09.780 Maybe they said that. Maybe he heard that. Maybe that's why he decided to put that video out.
00:55:15.280 They're going to capitulate to whatever Trump wants, but they're going to wait until after
00:55:19.980 the election is over because that's what they're riding on. Wow. That's insane.
00:55:31.900 Oh, did you know that the government spent over 40 billion of our dollars? We reported this a
00:55:38.900 couple of weeks ago without any kind of parliamentary oversight whatsoever. The
00:55:43.380 governor general just rubber stamped it and it's out there. We don't know exactly where it went.
00:55:49.140 Here's the blender guy with more info. Just crossed a line no democracy should ever even
00:55:54.280 approach and almost nobody noticed. On April 1st, 2025, the governor general of Canada quietly
00:56:00.720 authorized a staggering $40,343,209,650 in government spending under a special warrant.
00:56:12.280 The justification? That the sums were urgently required for the public good. No vote, no debate,
00:56:18.300 no breakdown of where the money is going, just a vague schedule listing departments and totals.
00:56:23.280 Canadians weren't consulted, Parliament wasn't consulted. The money simply vanished from the
00:56:28.040 Consolidated Revenue Fund, rubber stamped by an unelected Governor-General, at the request of a
00:56:33.160 Liberal government that's been ducking accountability for months. Let's rewind. Parliament has been
00:56:38.520 shut down since October. Why? Because Justin Trudeau was facing a scandal over the so-called
00:56:43.200 Green Slush Fund. A massive pile of taxpayer money, amounting to over $300 million, was looted
00:56:49.440 by Liberal insiders. When questions began circling, Trudeau froze Parliament to avoid
00:56:54.640 investigation. Then they conveniently broke for Christmas, giving themselves another month break
00:57:00.040 from facing the consequences of their corruption. When Parliament was finally set to return,
00:57:04.900 Trudeau prorogued it, this time to dodge a looming confidence vote that would have toppled his
00:57:09.520 government under the weight of scandal. The official excuse? A leadership transition. In reality,
00:57:15.860 the Liberals were in disarray and needed to install Mark Carney as Prime Minister without
00:57:19.640 facing the democratic consequences. Carney wasn't elected by the public. He was appointed through a
00:57:25.000 manipulated party leadership race with just 150,000 Liberal members, 0.4% of the Canadian
00:57:31.500 population. Independent candidates like Ruby Dalla were barred from running. The race was a sham,
00:57:37.200 designed to preserve power, not serve Canadians. Now, under Carney, it's the same cabinet, the
00:57:42.600 same corruption, and the same incompetence. Marco Mendicino, who not only boshed the Bernardo prison
00:57:47.620 scandal, but also knew about the Chinese Communist Party manipulating our elections and chose
00:57:51.920 to do nothing, is now serving as Carney's chief of staff. 0.54
00:57:55.720 Meanwhile, this incomprehensibly corrupt regime just handed itself over $40 billion in new
00:58:02.440 spending behind closed doors.
00:58:04.700 With Parliament still prorogued, there was no democratic process, just a signature from
00:58:09.140 an unelected Liberal-appointed Governor-General acting on the advice of a government that's
00:58:13.800 been ruling without oversight for half a year.
00:58:17.620 i just how is that even possible when they're supposed to be in caretaker mode and they have
00:58:28.640 they've been in caretaker mode allegedly since parliament was prorogued on january 6th and
00:58:34.540 they're still spending billions of our dollars remember that our budget blew past
00:58:41.460 uh its limits when they came out with that financial statement in in december i think
00:58:49.960 by 20 billion dollars but they can still find 40 billion dollars to spend somehow
00:58:55.520 that's incredible to me and yet the media crickets absolute crickets okay let's talk about
00:59:05.080 media suppression here media actually trying to suppress public sentiment yesterday and the day
00:59:12.820 before cbc and ctv released stories about western separation this is obviously the cbc story and the
00:59:20.820 headline says it all one in four albertans would vote to separate in a referendum angus reed poll
00:59:25.760 suggests now this comes on the heels i suppose of preston manning's editorial in the national
00:59:32.860 post about a week ago now that says if eastern canada ontario quebec maritimes all decide they
00:59:39.280 want to vote for mark carney and put another liberal government in you are playing with fire
00:59:43.840 you're talking about a huge national unity crisis that's what he said and i believe there are
00:59:49.660 millions of people who absolutely agree with him absolutely agree with him so the media is trying
00:59:57.460 to tamp that down by saying one in four albertans would vote to separate in a referendum no
01:00:02.840 big deal. They need two and four. They need 50.1%. So no big deal. Don't worry about it. We're not
01:00:10.980 even going to bother reading this article. We're just going to go to the next one. Came out the
01:00:15.220 very same day. Interesting that CBC and CTV would choose to publish articles of the same kind of
01:00:23.980 information on the same day, considering that it's a puff piece. It's a filler piece. It's not
01:00:29.120 news per se but yet the cbc and ctv the two leading allegedly news organizations in canada
01:00:39.140 are reporting this on the very same day western separation is unlikely alberta political scientist
01:00:46.420 says here's what might happen instead so let's go through this one here not long ago the 2025
01:00:54.460 election seemed like Pierre Polyev's
01:00:56.600 to lose. That
01:00:58.240 that's made the rapid ascension of
01:01:00.400 Mark Carney's liberals in public approval
01:01:02.360 polling, a source of some frustration
01:01:04.600 across the conservative-leaning prairies.
01:01:06.900 And for the first time in years, the notion
01:01:08.620 of Western separation appears to be
01:01:10.440 gaining significant traction in both Alberta
01:01:12.380 and Saskatchewan. Appears to be,
01:01:14.880 they say. But how
01:01:16.380 likely is Canada
01:01:18.360 to see an actual secession movement should
01:01:20.480 the liberals form another government?
01:01:22.700 In a recent op-ed for the
01:01:24.380 Globe and Mail, Preston Manning, former opposition leader under the Reform Party,
01:01:28.880 argued a vote for Carney is a vote for the breakup of Canada as we know it. And I would
01:01:33.200 tend to agree with that. But political science professor John Sarosky of Edmonton's McEwen
01:01:39.520 University, make sure he's a Western academic for this story. Make sure you get somebody from the
01:01:44.880 West. He disagrees, this John Sarosky, suggesting would-be separatists should not hold their breath.
01:01:51.580 well that's kind of an imaginary utopian optimistic vision
01:01:58.040 Swarovski said Wednesday in an interview with CTV's Your Morning
01:02:01.980 I don't think the numbers are there now that may be
01:02:06.440 but why would CTV publish a story like this when he says I don't think the
01:02:12.320 numbers are there 33 percent of Saskatchewan residents
01:02:16.760 and 30% of Alberta residents would vote in favor of separation right now,
01:02:22.400 whether to form their own country or join the United States.
01:02:25.520 The vast majority of respondents said they would rather remain Canadian, however.
01:02:29.000 A major hurdle for separatists under the secession roadmap set out in the Clarity Act.
01:02:36.020 So what they're saying to you with these stories
01:02:39.300 is that there's no chance of Alberta or Saskatchewan ever seceding from Confederation.
01:02:49.480 So if you think for a second there's a chance, I wouldn't bother with it.
01:02:54.180 It'll be a complete waste of your time.
01:02:56.120 And they get some old academic to come in and say,
01:02:59.100 yeah, there's not much of a chance of that happening.
01:03:02.300 And this is all designed to quell any kind of sovereignist ideas
01:03:09.040 that regular normie people might get when they hear people coming around their doors like Chris
01:03:15.620 Scott or Jeff Rath saying, you know what? Alberta would be way better off without the rest of
01:03:20.660 Canada. Way better off. And here's why. And they've got a long list of reasons. But what they're
01:03:26.900 trying to do is make sure the normies out there don't want to hear them. That's exactly what that
01:03:35.320 story is for and it's the same with this story here from CTV when they say from James Moore
01:03:41.380 leaders debates have come to mean less and less are you freaking kidding me right now
01:03:48.520 in my personal opinion everything rides on the debates that are coming up in the next week and
01:03:56.260 a half everything for the first time Canadians and they don't know Mark Carney they don't know
01:04:05.240 who he is. They know he's a banker. They know he worked for the Bank of Canada as the governor.
01:04:09.400 They know he was the governor of the Bank of England. They know he's worked for the UN,
01:04:12.600 but they don't know anything about him. Not really. He's been away from the country for 20 years.
01:04:22.540 Leaders' debates have come to mean less and less. In other words, don't even bother watching it.
01:04:28.600 It doesn't matter. I mean, all they're going to do is be bickering and arguing up there. It's not
01:04:33.500 really anything that you need to watch in order to decide who to vote for?
01:04:40.040 James Moore is a former federal cabinet minister under Stephen Harper and a columnist for CTV.
01:04:46.600 Do leaders' debates matter? Will these coming debates matter? Yes, but no. But the article
01:04:52.940 doesn't matter in and of itself. Anything this guy wrote underneath this headline doesn't matter
01:04:59.820 because people are going to, and they're already not politically inclined in Canada. How many times
01:05:04.600 have you heard the media come out and say, oh, we don't want to have to drag you to the polls again.
01:05:10.400 Canadians don't want another election. Man, what's the matter with them? We have been screaming for
01:05:19.600 this election now for the past three years or more. Oh, we want another election. We have to vote
01:05:26.740 again oh my god what a hassle leaders debates have come to mean less and less and less don't worry
01:05:34.960 don't bother watching the the debate you're not going to learn anything new you're not going to
01:05:41.640 see who presents himself as the better leader to take canada into the next decade or the last part
01:05:49.720 of this decade whatever it's crazy meanwhile in the united states they love voting down there in
01:05:57.640 the united states they vote every couple of years for the house of representatives they're voting
01:06:01.380 for their dog catcher down there for goodness sakes and the u.s director of national intelligence
01:06:07.260 tulsi gabbard came out with something absolutely jaw-dropping yesterday on the list of things that
01:06:14.040 we're investigating. We have the best of the best going after this, election integrity being one of
01:06:19.800 them. We have evidence of how these electronic voting systems have been vulnerable to hackers
01:06:27.880 for a very long time and vulnerable to exploitation to manipulate the results of the votes being cast,
01:06:34.660 which further drives forward your mandate to bring about paper ballots across the country
01:06:39.640 so that voters can have faith in the integrity of our elections.
01:06:45.400 Okay, so you see, this is the difference between the United States and Canada
01:06:49.620 when it comes to elections, federal ones anyway.
01:06:52.740 In provincial elections, I believe they use voting machines,
01:06:55.360 and the same with municipal elections.
01:06:56.900 And even with party elections, they use voting tabulators.
01:07:00.500 But when it comes to federal elections in Canada, we use pen, paper,
01:07:05.100 and we write our X down in the box, and then we stuff it in the box.
01:07:09.200 you guys have all done that you've all voted before right so they're all counted by hand
01:07:13.720 they're scrutineers watching these people counting the votes they're scrutineers watching the
01:07:18.440 scrutineers you cannot cheat in a canadian federal election not with the voting process
01:07:24.800 so this is how they're doing it they're using suppression polls there is no way i'm sorry but
01:07:32.360 there is no way on god's green earth that the liberals jump 25 points in a month it just doesn't
01:07:39.160 happen like that, especially when you're bringing in somebody like Mark Carney with all those
01:07:43.880 scandals hanging off him already. Canadians are tired of the liberal scandals. They've been
01:07:50.760 plagued by them for 10 years. They don't want any more scandals. Or maybe they're just immune to
01:07:57.040 them by now. I don't know. There's people out there, obviously, who will vote liberal, but 45%
01:08:02.920 of Canadians? Not a chance. So the polls are suppressive. The news stories are suppressive.
01:08:10.560 They don't want you engaged in any kind of Western separation talk at all. Come to think of it,
01:08:17.980 they don't want you engaged in the election. Don't watch the debate. They don't mean anything
01:08:25.100 anyway. That's what the media is doing. And I think that's probably because the media knows
01:08:34.220 that everything that they're doing out is fake, fake, fake. What they don't know is that we know.
01:08:46.180 Do not listen to the polls. That's CBC's story about the size of the crowds at these rallies.
01:08:52.360 same thing suppression suppression suppression stay home these crowds aren't that big
01:08:57.320 don't worry about it stay home one more american story before we wrap up for the night and we go to
01:09:05.160 the uh the extension on shadow davis.com it's part seven of europa the last battle tonight
01:09:11.380 pete hegseth let me bring this up here pete hegseth he is the uh secretary of defense in
01:09:19.420 the united states says the u.s partnering with panama to secure the canal and deter china so
01:09:25.900 well canada partners with china well canada allows infiltration with time china well canada's prime
01:09:32.760 minister denies that there's any kind of chinese manipulation the united states are actually saying
01:09:39.860 no to china remember the tariffs they've slapped on them china slapped tariffs back on the united
01:09:47.640 States, but so what? Trump doesn't care about that. He's targeted China. Defense Secretary
01:09:56.620 Pete Hegseth today, well, this is a couple of days ago, announced an expanded partnership
01:10:01.280 between the U.S. and Panama to secure the Panama Canal in order to counter China's maligned
01:10:06.280 influence in the region. The era of capitulating to coercion by the communist Chinese is over, 0.74
01:10:14.440 Hegseth said while delivering prepared remarks earlier in the day.
01:10:18.540 China's growing and adversarial control of strategic land and critical infrastructure
01:10:22.680 in this hemisphere cannot and will not stand, he added.
01:10:26.320 Hegseth, who has been in Panama City for a three-day security conference
01:10:29.660 with the host nation, later made the expanded partnership announcement
01:10:35.660 during a joint press conference with Panamanian Public Security Minister Frank Abrego.
01:10:41.140 The Panama Canal is key terrain that must be secured by Panama with America, not with China.
01:10:53.260 The extension is coming up in just a couple of minutes.
