00:10:38.540 pushing MAID and if they do that, they'll be rewarded by the government through some kind
00:10:43.400 of grant and if they don't, it's going to shut them down. So I'm not sure if that's the exact

00:29:16.160 favorite blender guy telling you what Nova Scotia is spending their money on rather than forest fire
00:29:23.240 prevention. Nova Scotia's government says wildfires are such a serious threat that they've taken the
00:29:27.920 extreme measure of imposing climate lockdowns. They've banned hiking, camping, fishing, and in
00:29:33.360 some cases, even walking on your own private land with friends, all in the name of public safety,
00:29:38.800 of course. But when you look at the budget, it's hard not to see the hypocrisy. For the 2025-2026
00:29:45.020 year, the province has allocated just $1.1 million for direct wildfire suppression. That's equipment
00:29:51.780 and training in partnership with Natural Resources Canada. At the same time, they've poured 37 times
00:29:57.640 more, over $40 million, into broad climate change and net zero initiatives. Things like net zero
00:30:04.000 So housing projects, community solar programs, and advancing clean technologies, whatever
00:30:09.000 that means, these projects do nothing to get more firefighters in the field or more water
00:30:14.600 on flames.
00:30:15.600 And it doesn't stop there.
00:30:17.460 The same budget hands out $1.3 million for a Mi'kmaq language revitalization strategy
00:30:24.080 and $39 million to support the film industry, including $14 million to complete a Hulu TV
00:30:30.880 series called Washington Black.
00:30:33.380 To put that into perspective, the TV show alone costs over 12 times more than the wildfire
00:30:39.060 suppression budget.
00:30:40.620 The full film industry allocation is more than 35 times greater.
00:30:45.140 So we have a government that claims the fire risk is so severe it must override basic property
00:30:49.980 rights and personal freedoms, yet when it comes to funding the very resources that could
00:30:54.100 stop these fires, they choose vanity projects, cultural initiatives, and DEI entertainment
00:30:59.760 instead.
00:31:00.920 If they truly believed wildfires were the existential threat they say they are, the
00:31:05.360 budget would show it.
00:31:06.680 Instead it shows a political class more interested in symbolic climate branding and media productions
