00:56:36.980 territories, have responded to the pandemic. Whether it was never-ending lockdowns, the

00:56:42.500 curtailing of constitutionally protected rights, the extreme measures taken against Canadian small

00:56:47.540 businesses, or basic concerns about informed consent and vaccination, mental health and

00:56:53.420 deferred medical procedures that have caused a cascading effect on our health

00:56:57.080 system. I've consistently stood up for Canadians when no other federal party

00:57:01.440 would. Those of you watching this today may not be aware that several weeks ago

00:57:05.540 I issued a call for whistleblowers to our medical and scientific communities

00:57:09.280 across this country. Doctors, nurses, medical scientists, and other experts

00:57:14.340 have indeed reached out to me through various channels to tell me their

00:57:18.900 stories. At times, the information they've provided has been shocking. However, the single

00:57:24.300 uniting factor was that none of their stories were being told either here in Parliament or

00:57:29.740 in our national media. In fact, these individuals are being blocked at many levels from telling

00:57:34.780 their stories. And since Parliament is about speaking the truth and the needs of the people,

00:57:41.660 what more fitting location and fitting time than here on Parliament Hill to do this today.

00:57:51.620 All right, this comes in five parts, posted by a guy called Vesper on Exit. That was part one,

00:57:58.400 that's part five, part two, right here, another two minutes. One of the first whistleblowers to

00:58:03.640 reach out to me was a concerned nurse who has spent over 20 years working in a hospital in my

00:58:09.100 riding of Hastings, Lennox and Addington. For her own protection, I will not name her today.

00:58:14.620 When she reached out to my office, it was to inform me that the local hospital

00:58:18.060 she worked in was experiencing very low numbers of COVID patients. That is, until they took in

00:58:23.880 many patients from Toronto hotspots, which artificially raised the number of COVID patients

00:58:29.480 in our community in a way that was not accurately reflected in the local media reports to the public.

00:58:34.620 It made it look like locally we had a lot more active cases than we truly had.

00:58:40.340 This type of fear-mongering in media reports has been a major issue of concern throughout this pandemic.

00:58:46.500 Even worse, this nurse informed me that many of the sick patients had in fact already been vaccinated.

00:58:52.940 This was not something we were hearing from our local health officials in local media reports.

00:58:57.440 Even worse, this honest and diligent nurse was afraid to say anything publicly

00:59:01.320 because the College of Nurses of Ontario was threatening nurses who spoke out with what they

00:59:05.920 were personally witnessing in their hospitals. Anecdotal stories such as this came in with several

00:59:11.520 frontline medical professionals reaching out to me with each passing day. It gets worse.

00:59:18.240 On the whistleblower file, things drastically changed on April 30th, 2021. The College of

00:59:24.080 Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario, known as CPSO, issued a dire statement threatening any doctor

00:59:29.980 who spoke out about what they were witnessing on the front lines of our hospitals, in their own

00:59:34.540 clinics, and in our communities. The purpose of governing bodies like the CPSO is to protect the

00:59:40.560 public, not to stifle legitimate scientific inquiry or dissent by professional doctors.

00:59:47.620 But this attempt to intimidate doctors into silence had the opposite effect. My office was

00:59:53.740 inundated with calls of concern. At the time, we began working very closely with multiple groups

00:59:59.620 of doctors and other concerned medical professionals.

01:00:03.360 These honest and hardworking doctors are fully galvanized against the regressive authoritarian

01:00:08.540 overreach of the CPSO and other similar governing bodies.

01:09:27.500 than 200 scientific papers. For 30 years, I taught at MIT, during which time the climate

01:09:34.440 has changed remarkably little. But the cry of global warming has grown ever more shrill.

01:09:40.360 In fact, it seems that the less the climate changes, the louder the voices of the climate

01:09:46.440 alarmists get.

01:09:47.840 So let's clear the air and create a more accurate picture of where we really stand

01:09:53.480 on the issue of global warming, or as it is now called, climate change.

01:09:59.260 There are basically three groups of people dealing with this issue.

01:10:03.940 Groups one and two are scientists.

01:10:06.040 Group 3 consists mostly, at its core, of politicians, environmentalists, and media.

01:10:13.720 Group 1 is associated with the scientific part of the United Nations International Panel on Climate Change, or IPCC Working Group 1.

01:10:24.240 These are scientists who mostly believe that recent climate change is primarily due to man's burning of fossil fuels, oil, coal, and natural gas.

01:10:37.200 This releases CO2, carbon dioxide, into the atmosphere, and they believe this might eventually dangerously heat the planet.

01:10:46.700 Group 2 is made up of scientists who don't see this as an especially serious problem.

01:10:52.580 It's the group I belong to.

01:10:54.240 We're usually referred to as skeptics.

01:10:56.720 We note that there are many reasons why the climate changes,

01:10:59.940 the sun, clouds, oceans, the orbital variations of the Earth,

01:11:04.260 as well as a myriad of other inputs.

01:11:07.220 None of these is fully understood,

01:11:09.120 and there is no evidence that CO2 emissions are the dominant factor.

01:11:15.000 But actually, there is much agreement between both groups of scientists.

01:11:20.060 The following are such points of agreement.

01:11:23.320 One, the climate is always changing.

01:11:27.180 Two, CO2 is a greenhouse gas without which life on Earth is not possible,

01:11:32.980 but adding it to the atmosphere should lead to some warming.

01:11:36.940 Three, atmospheric levels of CO2 have been increasing since the end of the Little Ice Age, in the 19th century.

01:11:44.480 4. Over this period, past two centuries, the global mean temperature has increased slightly and erratically by about 1.8 degrees Fahrenheit or 1 degree Celsius.

01:11:59.060 But only since the 1960s have man's greenhouse emissions been sufficient to play a role.

01:12:06.260 5. Given the complexity of climate, no confident prediction about future global mean temperature or its impact can be made.

01:12:16.440 The IPCC acknowledged in its own 2007 report that, quote,

01:12:23.240 the long-term prediction of future climate states is not possible, end quote.

01:12:28.840 Most importantly, the scenario that the burning of fossil fuels leads to catastrophe isn't part of what either group asserts.

01:12:40.660 So why are so many people worried, indeed panic-stricken, about this issue?

01:12:46.500 Here's where Group 3 comes in, the politicians, environmentalists, and media.

01:12:52.780 Global warming alarmism provides them, more than any other issue, with the things they most want.

01:13:00.000 For politicians, it's money and power.

01:13:03.200 For environmentalists, it's money for their organizations.

01:13:06.840 And confirmation of their near-religious devotion to the idea that man is a destructive force acting upon nature.

01:13:15.780 And for the media, it's ideology, money, and headlines.

01:13:20.720 Doomsday scenarios sell.

01:13:23.320 Meanwhile, over the last decade, scientists outside of climate physics

01:13:27.860 have jumped on the bandwagon, publishing papers blaming global warming

01:13:32.480 for everything from acne to the Syrian civil war.

01:13:37.820 And crony capitalists have eagerly grabbed for the subsidies

01:13:41.360 that governments have so lavishly provided.

01:13:45.580 Unfortunately, Group 3 is winning the argument

01:13:48.580 because they have drowned out the serious debate that should be going on.

01:13:53.060 But while politicians, environmentalists, and media types

01:13:57.260 can waste a lot of money and scare a lot of people,

01:14:01.720 they won't be able to bury the truth.

01:15:43.040 civilization. But the whole idea is control energy. And if, in fact, the combustion of fossil fuels

01:15:50.500 is having a dangerous impact on climate, you have a recipe for controlling all use of fossil fuels.
