00:07:54.400 background let me just see if i can fix this here that's a little bit better i don't forget to like
00:08:00.000 and share very important information we're getting out to people here and there are people right now
00:08:04.240 out there we consider normies who were just waking up from a very long slumber and they're not liking
00:08:10.080 what they see but they don't know exactly what the reason is and we can provide them with that
00:08:15.380 here every single night that's why i ask you guys to like and share the shadow at night live stream
00:08:22.320 every weeknight at eight o'clock central here is our friend carrie simpson from save our ostriches
00:08:28.860 dot com hello carrie it's been a heck of a week i'm sure it has been like the longest week i think
00:08:35.280 of my life. And I've had a few long weeks, Shadow, but it's ending well. You were on with Katie on
00:08:43.440 Sunday night, both very concerned about what was going to happen. You went through the order and
00:08:49.580 then the rescindment of the order and then the reestablishment of the order that came, I think,
00:08:54.340 six days apart at the beginning of this month. And then it was a matter of getting the word out
00:09:00.380 to as many people as you possibly could about what the heck is going on at universal ostrich farms
00:09:06.040 have you been surprised at the incredible surge of support that you guys have received
00:09:12.140 it has been overwhelming shadow i mean canadians are good and they rally but i think ironically
00:09:20.920 one of the things that the covid times has taught canadians and that's how to pull together and get
00:09:26.860 the job done. And in this case, there was, you know, this wall that the federal government was
00:09:34.500 facing of people and it was getting bigger and bigger and bigger. And, you know, that didn't
00:09:40.500 faze them. That didn't do anything. But I do think that the fact that when we were on in court today
00:09:48.380 and that Zoom call was full of concerned Canadians, that sent a very clear message to the court
00:09:53.720 anyway and clearly the the publicity and clearly you know we talked about this last time on your
00:10:00.060 show you know the people powered grapevine where your viewers and and followers are concerned right
00:10:07.580 and i think this has been this is a great story from a whole bunch of different angles it's
00:10:13.240 what people can do when they come together and are focused and you know i have to say
00:10:18.020 this team of people that pulled together crackerjack extraordinaries you know night and day
00:10:25.960 these people were i mean you know four o'clock in the morning two o'clock in the morning getting
00:10:30.780 social media pulling clips apart creating graphics you know writing letters putting together
00:10:38.400 technology so people could just do one cook and click and blast every mp with just one letter you
00:10:44.080 You know, there was some there's some hot shots involved in this.
00:10:49.500 And, you know, like I say, for all of this to come together in a week.
00:10:53.540 And then, of course, the amazing and wonderful support of people like yourself, Wayne Peters.
00:10:59.700 I mean, the list goes on, you know, getting the information out and to audiences that actually do something, you know, quite often, you know, I say, well, the world is watching.
00:11:09.560 In this case, the world was not only watching, they were doing something.
00:11:12.960 and that was the difference right and so it's been just a privilege to watch this unfold and
00:11:21.380 thankfully things went well today you have been involved in in a lot of this kind of thing
00:11:29.640 rallying people that's what you do that's what you've been doing for 25 years in British Columbia
00:11:36.000 and I'm not sure if you've ever done it in such a short period of time when did you
00:11:42.660 first become involved with this we covered this briefly on sunday night but we didn't go into
00:11:47.680 detail about it i mean you heard about this at the beginning of january right not not even that
00:11:52.480 don't i wish that would have given me a little bit of lead time i shadow note you know i i get
00:11:59.620 called upon often to help various um endeavors and issues and concerns and problems and such
00:12:07.220 and uh when this one came i i was getting a lot of people saying carrie you have to help the
00:12:13.800 ostriches the ostriches right and you know as i've said before i'm i'm very cautious let me
00:12:19.860 stop you for a second i just when you first heard that when you very first heard that you got to
00:12:24.160 help the ostriches you said what the hell are you even talking about my eyes did roll well you know
00:12:30.000 what no i i knew i knew a little bit about uh the canadian food inspection agency because of the
00:12:36.660 work I did to warn people about Trudeau hunting down every animal on every piece of property in
00:12:42.880 Canada right so I had talked to the farmers I knew about the cullings and you know the the abuse of
00:12:50.260 of the bureaucrats in this matter but you know I never in my wildest dreams believed it would be
00:12:56.180 the ostriches that they would actually want to cull 400 ostriches and maybe that goes to how
00:13:04.580 little intelligence there is because anyone would know that this is going to be a public relations
00:13:10.640 nightmare for me it's going you know hallelujah it doesn't get better than this right but yeah
00:13:16.960 um no i i did you know and of course you have to be careful you have to you know the the when i do
00:13:23.420 help these people i put them through their paces because i'm not going to jeopardize the credibility
00:13:27.820 that i have well you got to make sure that they're on the level right i mean that's that's the first
00:13:33.040 thing so i got wind of this probably nine days ago when i first started it and then i literally
00:13:40.580 spent a day and a half reviewing paperwork because the paperwork just started coming in because you
00:13:44.980 need to see all the orders you need to see everything you're dealing with right um and
00:13:49.220 then it was you know get in the gate and uh and you know that starter gun went off and we went fast
00:13:55.820 because there isn't a whole bunch of time everything is stacked and rigged against the
00:14:01.240 farmer or the person facing having to execute or slaughter their animals and you know time you
00:14:08.440 don't have time you can't give proper notice because you don't even have that much notice
00:14:12.540 sometimes like courts always want two weeks notice you have to serve the other side then
00:14:16.180 they have to have time to respond all of that just you can't you can't you know do it that way right
00:14:24.520 so how do you go about getting an emergency injunction like this in such a short period
00:14:30.360 time i mean we you know what we've seen over the past four or five years now is these courts move
00:14:36.360 so slow and for you guys to be able to get in there today the federal court you got in there
00:14:42.640 today i mean like i think that is absolutely amazing what kind of pressure did you have to
00:14:46.580 put on well starting the beginning of this week we notified the department of justice we said look
00:14:51.400 we're we're doing battle here we're gonna fight this um and then we started you know trying to
00:14:58.620 get in contact with the federal court. But I, you know, I'm not going to go into that now. But I
00:15:03.540 think we have a lot of problems on the staffing front of our judiciary at this point, Chato, 1.00
00:15:09.380 because they didn't get back to us. They didn't tell us whether they had a judge. We did not
00:15:14.700 know until this morning that we were rocking and rolling today, right? So you have to have your
00:15:20.160 documents filed. So that, you know, that means people have to swear affidavits, then you have
00:15:26.900 to have them scanned then you need copies to the other party you know this is no small
00:15:32.160 endeavor when you launch a legal action let alone one this quickly um so it was it you know a judge
00:15:40.780 made themselves available i think in this case we don't know all the background on it but clearly
00:15:46.720 there was some special accommodation made for this by the federal court so um i have to say to you
00:15:53.480 Because I've been hounding you all week, too, right?
00:15:55.920 Like, Gary, any word?
00:15:56.880 Any word?
00:15:57.340 I gave you a couple days, though.
00:15:58.540 I gave you Monday, Tuesday, because I thought nothing's going to happen Monday, Tuesday.
00:16:01.980 And finally, on Wednesday, it was like, and so?
00:16:04.540 You did get back to me, to your credit, even as busy as you were.
00:16:08.380 And yesterday, you said, we're going to be in court tomorrow, maybe the federal court,
00:16:13.560 maybe the Supreme Court, depending on availability of judges.
00:16:16.920 I mean, and this was about 2.30 or 3 o'clock yesterday afternoon, central time.
00:16:20.620 And I thought, kind of cutting it close, not through any fault of yours.
00:16:25.040 But, you know, that's that's, you know, the time frame that we had to work with.
00:16:30.020 Right. I mean, you know, I had to find lawyers once the family came to me.
00:16:34.640 I thought, you know, there's and then you don't have lawyers that have expertise in this shuttle, because as most people who've even tried to do anything on this front will tell you, it's there's there's no win.
00:16:47.780 So right now we're sitting with this win, you know, high up representatives and some very large organizations affiliated with livestock, poultry and such is going, how the hell did you guys do this?
00:17:02.740 Right. So this is not only a life saving win for those ostriches, it's a huge win for the farmers and the livestock producers across Canada.
00:17:14.000 So, well, there were two reasons for the win in the in the court document that you sent me.
00:17:19.000 And one of them was the uniqueness of the farm and the animals on it. Correct.
00:17:23.200 Correct. And we also raised the jurisdictional question, a constitutional question as well.
00:17:27.620 Right. And you think about it, you know, is who you know, we have the British Columbia Public Health Authority and then you have the Canadian Health Authority.
00:17:37.560 You know, who's who who really rules this roost? Excuse the pun.
00:17:41.440 um i know it just never ends when when all this is we're just gonna all sit down one night have
00:17:47.400 this zoom when we probably have a little bit too much champagne i hope um and just let it all fly
00:17:54.660 fly you can't help it right rib shot
00:17:58.340 um so yeah so the judge was intrigued i mean this this is a novel case and we knew that that was
00:18:07.920 going to be extremely helpful for us maybe that's why the judge made himself available
00:18:13.340 he looks at it and goes ostriches i gotta hear this i would if i was if i was one of those
00:18:20.820 people i would have said in a heartbeat right so so when this news came out uh i'm gonna say
00:18:27.740 mid-afternoon today uh it was leaked slowly there were some people posting about it on social media
00:18:33.300 you told me i got it out to as many people as i could and then i i said you were going to be on
00:18:37.620 the show tonight so there's uh there's several people watching right now but what happens next
00:18:43.920 I mean there's people saying that this is a win it's a small win so you've got 30 days what what
00:18:50.240 needs to be done still well I first want to go back to to when I got the call so I I was the
00:18:56.860 first one to know from the lawyers right and you know these lawyers Michael Carter you know he is
00:19:03.320 just put heart and soul his legal team um the the researchers you know this is not just a small
00:19:11.540 effort this was the coming together not only of legal minds but scientific mind shadow you know
00:19:18.700 we had scientists just reach out to us and say what do you need i was on a zoom call with you
00:19:25.460 know these just top canadian scientists from all fields and what can we do to help what do you need
00:19:32.500 you know do you need expert reports and we we ended up using two of them for expert reports
00:19:38.140 and they just worked all night on these things I mean I know because I know I got it for editing
00:19:43.580 at four o'clock in the morning right just to have a look at what's going on here right
00:19:47.540 um just this this amazing things that when the lawyer called me you know you just steal yourself
00:19:57.140 right because you just you're ready for that really bad news we all knew going into this no
00:20:03.340 matter who i talked to carrie this is you know a long shot this is uphill this is you know the cfa
00:20:11.060 has power statutory power and so when michael called me you know and and i don't think at that
00:20:20.740 moment he even had fully registered he just knew he had to call me right away right because that
00:20:26.260 you know that's what happens right and and I think we it just took a minute before it actually
00:20:32.460 sunk in that we won right when he then he started reading some of the language which is very helpful
00:20:39.160 for other matters involving science and and situations and so then we brought Katie and
00:20:45.960 her mom on the phone I said okay I'll merge the calls right and you know they were just I mean
00:20:51.460 they were ready to have to just start saying goodbye to their birds i mean you know for michael
00:20:57.900 and legal team and myself you know we're we're used to doing wars but for them they just knew
00:21:04.620 this call would probably mean that they had to say goodbye to their birds right and so it was a pre
00:21:11.460 was one of those calls that will forever be you know just right there in my mind and when i need
00:21:17.360 to think of something really neat, I'll just go to that moment. So what it means now, so this is
00:21:22.900 just round one. So all the people that have been rallying behind this, this is just a stay of
00:21:28.680 execution, if we can use that term. So we have 30 days now to do what's called judicial review,
00:21:35.900 and that's to review the decisions that CFIA, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency, has based this
00:21:44.420 on right where did they really look at what was going on do they have enough to make sure that
00:21:50.620 this conduct or this order was justifiable those kinds of things so you know are you uh going to
00:21:58.360 be allowed or katie and her mom going to be allowed to do their own testing now because they
00:22:02.720 weren't before according to that order yeah no at this point we're we're just waiting for some
00:22:08.200 clarification on things shadow you know what what would be helpful at this point would be um for
00:22:16.040 you know and i put the i put another letter out i haven't said it to you this morning i
00:22:20.720 i told paul mckinnon he is the president of the canadian food inspection agency so this is a weird
00:22:27.220 creature this this cfia it's not a ministry it you know it falls under the minister of health
00:22:33.900 and the Minister of Agriculture and Agro Foods, but it's its own entity and it's powerful. It,
00:22:40.980 you know, it doesn't have any accountability. It can do whatever it wants to. And, you know,
00:22:47.160 when I started doing the backgrounds on the people governing this, you know, there's not
00:22:51.800 many scientifically inclined minds at the top of that, right? Put it this way, if Donald Trump
00:22:58.580 saw what we had here i think he would send some of his uh his people to clean up the mess right
00:23:05.480 um you know and then i've uncovered a few other things that we should we'll do a show on it
00:23:12.240 because it'll just yeah for instance um did you know that ducks since 2023 have not been allowed
00:23:19.620 into canada since 2023 because of fear of avian flu and i have wait a minute hold on hold on how
00:23:28.080 do you stop ducks from slaughter ducks this is food duck so avian flu if you cook meat and stuff
00:23:34.600 there's no possible contagion to a person so i i i find this transcript from the committee of
00:23:44.300 agriculture meeting with the vice president of policy and programs for canadian food inspection
00:23:51.020 agency. And he actually has a better background in science. And these MPs are going after him.
00:23:59.840 What's taken so long? Why can't you make decisions? The industry is suffering. You're costing them
00:24:04.800 money. Oh, yeah. Well, we're making a report. We're going to have a report soon. It's been since
00:24:10.660 2023. Then he says one of the MPs challenges him on the science. And he says, you know,
00:24:19.300 here we're always open to researching a new science and i'm thinking oh this is just nonsense
00:24:26.780 not not not from my viewpoint buddy i don't like when science is used as a political tool like
00:24:33.060 it's either settled or oh no we're always open to hearing more of what you have to say i mean 0.92
00:24:36.820 whatever is convenient for them right unless unless you're the ostriches then we don't want
00:24:41.520 to know hey uh did you you you've seen that health bureaucrats leaked the zoom call right
00:24:47.760 The one with Teresa Tam and Bonnie Henry, is that going to be useful at all?
00:24:51.300 It is very useful.
00:24:52.420 As a matter of fact, I'm going to transcribe it because I think what it shows, I mean,
00:24:56.920 Teresa Tam, you know, it shows them setting up and how they bring this crisis about.
00:25:04.820 There's really no crisis, but we're going to prepare for it.
00:25:07.980 And then we're going to start looking at things like, oh, barn cats, barn cats could spread
00:25:14.960 this, right?
00:25:15.700 We have to be very afraid of that.
00:25:17.760 um people who pasteurize milk those dairies aren't going to be a problem but those
00:25:23.080 raw milkers you know they're going to be really problematic and of course Teresa Tam then declares
00:25:29.540 that she doesn't even eat cheese so she's so afraid I mean these are the people leading our
00:25:35.900 health organizations well at the end of it too there's something very damning that Bonnie Henry
00:25:40.460 says right and then chuckles well so we had a very disturbing case here she decided that 0.89
00:25:47.020 mink, the mink farmers were super spreaders of the COVID virus. So she ordered all the mink to be 0.91
00:25:53.660 culled. Then there were two mink cases. And actually after re-watching that, Wayne Peters
00:25:59.420 reminded me of it. I actually pulled those cases, Shadow, because she's laughing when the court did
00:26:06.960 not hear them, right? And again, when I look at the decisions, and it's only been just glance,
00:26:12.020 I haven't studied them yet. Clearly, they're still doing the, you know, judicial notice,
00:26:18.240 rubber stamp, anything related to COVID will just defer or acquiesce to whatever the health
00:26:23.460 authorities say. And that has to stop. And, you know, regrettably, lawyers can't spank these
00:26:30.340 judges, but I sure can. And I think maybe it's time that we started watching, you know, having
00:26:36.420 a judicial watch and really exposing the problematic ones that don't, you know, apply
00:26:43.020 the rule of law or the, you know, the merits of the case that are presented to them.
00:26:47.380 So is there still a convoy heading to the farm tomorrow or has that been canceled now?
00:26:52.360 No, I think that they're all heading still.
00:26:55.020 It sounds like it's going to be one heck of a party.
00:26:57.840 So that's what I was.
00:26:59.560 That's what I was thinking, right?
00:27:00.860 Here's the website.
00:27:02.020 it's bcrising.ca saveourostridges.com and uh the convoy to edgewood it's still on there tomorrow
00:27:08.340 morning bright and early they're leaving at 6 45 from colonna and then
00:27:19.220 i lost you so i don't know where shadow went but i can't i don't know somebody's gonna have to tell
00:27:26.180 me in chat can you still hear me because we're just happy did i just leave the screen okay i
00:27:33.380 just vanished i just took over for you shadow thank you i thought you were jumping on the
00:27:41.540 convoy and heading like the heck with the show right no i don't know what the heck i think i
00:27:48.900 got the fat fingers today and i pushed the wrong button and completely nuked myself out of the
00:27:53.620 screen i'm asking the audience can you guys hear me because he's gone
00:27:59.160 the carrie simpson show convoy to edgewood here we are so it's tomorrow morning uh there's two
00:28:09.440 of them from colonna and from vernon and they're leaving at 6 45 from colonna and then at 7 40
00:28:17.780 from vernon so you can get this information at bcrising.ca slash save our ostriches that's great
00:28:24.860 to see how are katie and her mom doing are they relieved are they going to get some sleep finally
00:28:30.280 or sleep sleep will be nice for all of us that's uh yeah i help anyone who wakes me up too early
00:28:37.240 tomorrow um you know i've heard from them probably four or five times and i think it's just
00:28:44.260 you know initial shock and and then relief and then it's oh my gosh real relief and then it's
00:28:52.180 you know it's a huge emotional roller coaster shadow because you're so happy yet you still
00:29:01.220 know that there's a war ahead of us right so we can't let down our guard the fight is not over
00:29:07.600 we just have a bit of a breather here you know two days maybe um but you know we're going to be
00:29:13.440 back at it hard. And we're going to take full advantage of this opportunity to make sure what
00:29:20.160 we can do, you know, what really needs to be done is changes to the policies with regard to the CFIA.
00:29:27.500 And, you know, I'm happy to report. And I think this is the other maybe unique aspect out of this
00:29:34.640 is people took initiative here. They didn't just wait. People just jumped in and took initiative
00:29:41.880 on things even you know people like our former attorney general for british columbia susan anton 0.60
00:29:48.660 i get carrie you know what do you have can you give me the documents and she's just been out on
00:29:55.120 the social media platforms given her um now what's happened is a number of high-ranking
00:30:02.560 advisors to a certain political parties some politicians have now asked to meet with scientists
00:30:11.200 that will actually give them sort of the insight on what's going on here,
00:30:15.140 what needs to be done.
00:30:16.660 I've invited the stakeholders, whether it's, you know, the beef ranchers,
00:30:21.240 the poultry people, they've been seeing these problems for years.
00:30:24.940 I mean, I look at them from a, you know, just an overview.
00:30:28.220 They've been living and breathing the problems.
00:30:30.760 So tell me what needs to be changed.
00:30:32.560 We have a window to do something really good here.
00:30:36.760 Do you think there's a chance at setting a precedent, Carrie?
00:30:39.440 i think they're gonna back out shadow before we get to court again that's my i don't think they're
00:30:47.440 gonna give us that opportunity but you know some somebody has to be accountable for what's going on
00:30:53.240 here and these politicians so i wrote a very pointed letter to to the president of the canadian
00:31:00.260 food inspection agency so my second letter i i'm always fair you get one shot i read it on the show
00:31:06.200 the other night i know i know how pointed it was yeah so you should see the one that went out this
00:31:10.240 morning it's like you know dude you know i've kept your name out of the fray so far but now
00:31:16.780 it's a very different thing you know people can go after elected politicians but rarely do we go
00:31:23.180 after the top bureaucrats who are really responsible for what's going on here you know i've done this
00:31:28.200 enough to know that you know bureaucrats in some cases i'm not saying this is the case but i've
00:31:34.260 seen it often, you know, they actually lie to the ministers, you know, ministers come and go,
00:31:39.780 bureaucrats are there forever. And, you know, there seems to be quite a few that rep time
00:31:46.540 being from the Privy Council as well, you know, so these are not people that are in the science
00:31:51.800 field. These are people that are in the business of being in, in, you know, government, government,
00:31:58.640 yeah deep state man that's what they are and as you say you know lying to ministers i mean this
00:32:04.660 is something that needs to be weeded out trump is doing it in the states i don't see why we can't do
00:32:09.040 it here we don't have a choice it has to be done if we want to move forward and you know in this
00:32:16.080 you know and you brought you know i i was kind of laughing that uh first of all the products you
00:32:21.980 know that help support this show the recover i'm going do they have something for my brain
00:32:26.200 they're working on it and then you bring on the show because we've got ostriches and tariffs
00:32:31.660 i was at the point where and i could get access i was going to call donald trump and say
00:32:37.360 you know president trump we need 55 tariffs on canadian goods until they free the ostrich
00:32:44.780 i think he would have liked that i'm sure he would have liked hearing the story anyway carrie
00:32:52.960 thank you for all the work that you've been doing and thank you for taking the time to talk to us
00:32:57.880 and update us on everything that's been happening is there anything more that people can do to help
00:33:02.740 stay in tune i mean we have legal fees you guys as i say this is not over yet right this is
00:33:08.980 you know we we will wait and see and you'll be among the first to know if they withdraw or what
00:33:14.780 what you know as we chase change course on this if we change course i think um at this point
00:33:20.940 There's going to be a lot of pivots. We'll see. I've invited the top brass within CFIA and government to meet with us and talk about what can can be done to bring about a better response to people, farmers and livestock holders.
00:33:38.780 You know, when situations like this happen, they lose credibility, Shadow, right?
00:33:44.240 And that's not a good thing for an agency that's in charge of, you know, taking supposedly
00:33:50.200 care of us.
00:33:51.280 So do you think they care anymore about, I mean, like every agency, federally speaking,
00:33:56.540 and this is a federal agency, has lost credibility so bad over the past five years.
00:34:00.700 I don't think they care anymore, truly.
00:34:02.780 Well, I don't think they ever cared.
00:34:04.540 I think, you know, but until they're made to care, right?
00:34:07.100 And, you know, I, I've often said that lots of times I get my way with government, not because their hearts are in it, but because I become the bigger problem. And if, if that motivates them to do what's right, I'm okay with that. They don't have to be motivated by the right thing. They just have to do the right thing.
00:34:25.260 and if cia if cia does back out and they don't want to go back to court that's a good news for
00:34:32.320 the ostrich farm right i mean they're just going to capitulate and say all right we're going to
00:34:36.980 leave you guys alone and then the first thing you have to ask yourself is well why were you so
00:34:41.440 adamant about it in the first place so good news for the ostrich farm but not so great for you know
00:34:47.480 as you were saying all of the the other chicken farmers and beef farmers in bc because no precedent
00:34:52.840 get set. Well, you know what, though? There's this wonderful decision that this wonderful
00:34:57.840 Justice Bastille did that says, you know, we have some constitutional questions that come here. So
00:35:03.940 he actually expanded the issues that are before the court by acknowledging that these issues are
00:35:12.180 valuable and we need to sort them out. So even if the ostriches become safe and CFIA decides to make
00:35:19.700 them a living laboratory and all the things it should do um there are still issues before the
00:35:25.420 court here that i think we can keep it you know as live issues um moving forward as long as you
00:35:31.960 know we can fight those battles on behalf of all the farmers and such right it sounds like this
00:35:37.460 justice bastille may have been on your side a little bit here i'm saying you know not saying
00:35:42.500 that he's not impartial or anything and by the way i love that name bastille it's bastille day
00:35:47.440 in Canada. Well, you know, though, I think the more clever independent thinking justices are
00:35:56.140 looking at the state of things on all that science front. I mean, they can't help it after looking at
00:36:02.800 the total absurdity is how the courts handled and continue to handle the COVID issues, right?
00:36:10.600 And I think for those people who see, you know, one of the things that this argument brought in
00:36:16.500 to full light is that there may be a better way of doing public health, right? We know now vaccines
00:36:25.620 wane, they, you know, they lose their efficacy. We know that antibiotics, superbugs get built up.
00:36:33.940 And so anybody who has been in the past engaged in any kind of, you know, issues involving,
00:36:41.820 you know a lot of science or a lot of medical procedures and drugs and those kinds of things
00:36:47.780 is looking at this and going why wouldn't we take advantage of this maybe these ostriches can help
00:36:53.820 us learn about natural immunity about how the mutations work and how their bodies adapt it is
00:37:01.460 such a brilliant opportunity that we have and I hope I hope that those people in power have
00:37:08.360 the ability to see that you know getting back to the judges as you say i mean you know we think of
00:37:14.540 these judges a lot of times as these guys they sit on this bench way above us and they judge us
00:37:20.020 they're judges right but they don't live in a vacuum they are human beings like everybody else
00:37:25.060 they put their pants on the same way we do hopefully and they must have seen some of these
00:37:32.240 confirmation hearings that have been going on in the united states in the last couple of days with
00:37:37.020 people like cash patel and rfk jr uh who both have been called conspiracy theorists by the
00:37:43.100 democrats but i mean you've got other side republican senators who are standing up and
00:37:48.140 saying no we just want to ask questions why are you so against listening to the other side and
00:37:55.180 hearing the questions they have and then trying to formulate some kind of an answer and and i would
00:38:01.100 admit that if they haven't seen this stuff what what are they doing in their spare time i mean
00:38:07.200 this is kind of top of the list here when it comes to news stuff yeah well one would think
00:38:12.760 shadow but you know willful blindness and not knowing i mean it's a pretty comfortable gig
00:38:18.440 being a judge in canada right and as as you know and and maybe it's time that i probably expose a
00:38:25.200 little bit more of the information i have now there's growing concerns that i have for instance
00:38:30.520 with the national judicial institute so all judges in canada have to pay into this national judicial
00:38:36.580 institute where it used to be about um learning how to administer your court so good ways to write
00:38:43.240 decisions technology that kind of thing but now they've gone over to the culture side so they 1.00
00:38:50.440 bring in people like princess darnell to indoctrinate judges about how many genders there
00:38:56.820 are right they are they are hiring their own climate scientists in anticipation of climate 0.98
00:39:04.560 more climate cases so the so the judiciary is going to have their own team of climate says
00:39:10.040 that's completely inappropriate you please um i have a quote from justice chief uh wagner
00:39:19.340 on the 2030 agenda and how it's up to judges to to usher this in because governments can be slow
00:39:26.320 and judges have the ability to end poverty like no that is the chief justice of the supreme court
00:39:32.900 of canada right that guy yeah and so this is they're very misguided in what they're i mean
00:39:40.520 but so who's going to bring them back on track it's going to be the use and eyes of this world
00:39:45.560 because you know anyone that's in law practicing law you know the minute you challenge a judge
00:39:53.360 in that capacity you're going to be hauled up before the law society you're going to be shut
00:39:57.340 down and silenced right so it's going to take you know outside agencies like what you and i do
00:40:04.840 and to hold them up to public scrutiny i think if you were to ask and i think there that has been
00:40:11.240 asked you know confidence in in canadian judges is not very high so public trust is essential to
00:40:19.440 our civil society. It's time we started dealing with that now. Carrie, thank you for all your good
00:40:25.520 and difficult work this past weekend. Fast, too. I mean, you managed to do it in record time. And
00:40:31.680 good luck with everything going forward. Please keep in touch with us and let us know what the
00:40:36.280 heck's going on with all this. As always. And deeply, deeply appreciate you and your great
00:40:41.760 group of people that landed us a hand in this. Thank you. Thank you, everybody.
00:40:46.840 that's our pleasure thank you carrie we'll talk to you again soon night okay bye-bye there is
00:40:52.180 carrie simpson save our ostriches.com oh we we referenced the video uh of these medical
00:41:00.780 bureaucrats including bonnie henry and theresa tam which was leaked zoom call was leaked uh last
00:41:05.920 summer i believe it was would you guys like to see that okay here um we don't have a protocol
00:41:13.600 to be honest to be um escalating in the time of prevention as i said but things can be done you
00:41:20.800 know it can be done um and test some of these structures out and we need to have a communication
00:41:27.840 strategy the first positive milk there there may not be a lot of outrage in quebec but there's
00:41:33.120 certainly a lot of interest in the bc because of the high path ai and in poultry that we've been
00:41:38.480 through in the last two years so it's it's on people's minds if we have a positive milk
00:41:44.800 um people will want to know that we know what it's about and that we're on it and that we're
00:41:50.240 watching and that we're working together so i to me that's the most important thing we need
00:41:55.360 in the short term i think in in some ways people are thinking oh wow it's only
00:42:02.240 passed by samples and we expect it to be negative well there will be the odd thing you know the
00:42:11.320 unexpected um so we'll sort of press on with that um with our colleagues and i keep telling people
00:42:21.740 i feel i'm more worried than they are i'm not sure maybe it's all hidden underneath but i've
00:42:28.940 They are discussing preventative measures, you guys.
00:42:32.860 And we need to have a community.
00:42:34.660 That video won't stop.
00:42:37.420 They're discussing preventative measures for this Avian H5N1 flu.
00:42:44.020 And once we get closer to the end, this is about three minutes long, this video.
00:42:47.560 Once we get closer to the end, watch Bonnie Henry.
00:42:49.880 She's in the top row, second from the right-hand side. 0.96
00:42:53.940 the odd thing you know the unexpected um so we'll sort of press on with that um with our
00:43:03.020 colleagues and i keep telling people i feel i'm more worried than they are i'm not sure maybe
00:43:10.660 it's all hidden underneath but i prefer to be much more forward-leaning and maybe anticipate
00:43:16.080 that something is positive in canada and we can manage it you know as long as we
00:43:21.060 you know set it out with a degree of thoughtfulness um yes and then we should sort of
00:43:29.280 again have a bit of a focus on the on the raw milk people because that's probably you know
00:43:37.400 dealing with the pasteurized bit is fine I think this might actually go very smoothly
00:43:43.000 but then the you know we probably need a discussion on how to address all the people who
00:43:49.680 you know counter anti-pasteurization and then there's goat I know nothing about cheese I don't
00:43:56.720 eat cheese but apparently goat milk products are you know frequently more frequently unpasteurized
00:44:05.520 slightly scary as well and then there's all the other layers of surveillance that we thought might
00:44:10.760 be useful for the other mammals that's swine etc right but the animal health people are not quite
00:44:19.180 as interested as we are and it may be in the research domain that we're going to be examining
00:44:24.940 the swine and other relevant farm and farm animals in particular yes the cats don't do well
00:44:35.340 do not feed your cats with raw milk products I don't know who messages on that but I also know
00:44:42.700 that there's a gap you know we always seem somehow left with holding the bag as it were on the pets
00:44:48.540 so I'm assuming farm cats are pets so we do have to think about as well in terms
00:44:55.320 of messaging yes there's a whole other yes on a positive note the we shut down
00:45:04.560 mink farms in BC as you may know Ontario be aware you still have them but and 0.71
00:45:11.460 they launched a lawsuit against us that was just thrown out yesterday so
00:45:18.540 They launched a lawsuit against us that was just thrown out yesterday.
00:45:23.600 Yeah, so Kerry is well aware of that, and they will be using that going forward.
00:45:31.400 I don't know what to wish for here when it comes to this situation with Universal Ostrich Farm.
00:45:39.120 Because if the CFIA does decide they want to go to court and fight this,
00:45:43.640 they're going to bring everything they've got.
00:45:46.640 And Kerry mentioned earlier how powerful this agency is
00:45:49.440 with no accountability whatsoever.
00:45:53.900 But it doesn't look like they're going to win this thing.
00:45:58.640 But they could.
00:46:00.940 And if they do, that will give them free reign,
00:46:06.020 if you'll pardon the expression,
00:46:07.100 to go around killing whatever animals they want to kill.
00:46:10.260 They're talking about minks.
00:46:11.780 They're talking about cattle.
00:46:13.180 And it's all based on this H5N1 nonsense that the birds are going to infect the cows or the minks or whatever animal that they decide is going to be infected.
00:46:25.420 And then, of course, it's going to come over to us.
00:46:28.360 But that hasn't happened.
00:46:31.460 At least not yet.
00:46:33.160 Not in any great extent.
00:46:34.680 We've heard, what, one case of H5N1 in Canada?
00:46:38.860 Maybe one, two in the United States.
00:46:40.900 It's not a thing.
00:46:44.140 These people do need to be held accountable.
00:46:47.460 All right, so what happened today on the tariff front?
00:46:51.120 Here is a highlight package, my friends.
00:46:54.380 Mr. President, is there anything China, Canada, and Mexico can do tonight
00:46:59.400 to forestall your implementation of tariffs tomorrow?
00:47:03.640 No, not right now, no.
00:47:06.320 Not a negotiating tool?
00:47:07.760 No, it's not.
00:47:08.420 No, it's pure economic.
00:47:09.920 We have big deficits with, as you know, with all three of them.
00:47:14.420 And in one case, they're sending massive amounts of fentanyl, killing hundreds of thousands of people a year with the fentanyl.
00:47:21.180 And in the other two cases, they're making it possible for this poison to get in, number one.
00:47:26.940 And number two, we have big deficits, and it's something we're doing.
00:47:32.060 And we'll possibly very substantially increase it or not.
00:47:37.020 We'll see how it is.
00:47:37.860 But it's a lot of money coming to the United States.
00:47:42.380 As you know, we have about a $200 billion deficit with Canada, getting close to $200 billion.
00:47:50.680 They've treated us very unfairly.
00:47:53.220 And I say, why should we be subsidizing Canada?
00:47:55.900 You know, it's wonderful.
00:47:57.460 I have so many friends in Canada.
00:47:58.880 It's a great place.
00:47:59.660 Is there a concession you're looking for, sir?
00:48:01.620 No, we're not looking for a concession.
00:48:03.840 We'll just see what happens.
00:48:06.160 We'll see what happens. 0.87
00:48:07.040 And so with Mexico, it's the same thing. 1.00
00:48:08.600 We have a $250 billion deficit and we have a lot of people coming into the border. 0.94
00:48:15.540 And now we've largely stopped that, but we've stopped that ourselves. 0.85
00:48:19.080 And I think they've done a fantastic job.
00:48:21.400 You've seen the numbers.
00:48:22.300 They've dropped to almost zero.
00:48:24.320 But we've suffered under the past administration for years and years.
00:48:28.120 We've suffered with millions of criminals coming into our country.
00:48:31.400 Criminals, people from jails from all over the world.
00:48:33.760 They come through Mexico and they come through Canada too.
00:48:36.420 A lot of them come through Canada, and a lot of fentanyl comes through Canada.
00:48:40.920 And China makes the fentanyl.
00:48:42.440 China makes the fentanyl, gives it to Mexico, puts it through Canada,
00:48:46.240 puts it through different places, mostly Mexico, but also a lot through Canada.
00:48:52.660 And so all three haven't treated us very well.
00:48:55.120 We're at a critical moment.
00:48:56.600 As President Trump stated yesterday, he is still committed to placing tariffs on Canada
00:49:01.740 starting as early as tomorrow, possibly.
00:49:04.340 Now, we don't know precisely what that could look like, but I do know two things.
00:49:09.200 First, if the president does choose to implement any tariffs against Canada, we're ready with
00:49:15.040 a response, a purposeful, forceful, but reasonable, immediate response.
00:49:22.000 It's not what we want, but if he moves forward, we will also act.
00:49:26.380 Justin Trudeau, the Canadian prime minister said today that if the U.S. imposes tariffs,
00:49:30.580 he will respond and he will not relent until the tariffs are removed.
00:49:34.840 Are we seeing the start of the trade war with Canada?
00:49:37.000 I don't think so.
00:49:37.820 I think the president is going to implement those tariffs tomorrow
00:49:40.660 and he will respond to Mr. Trudeau's comments in due time, I am sure.
00:49:45.260 What kind of things have to happen?
00:49:47.020 What does the administration need to see in order to avoid those tariffs?
00:49:50.180 Well, the tariffs are incoming tomorrow on Canada.
00:49:53.000 And the reason for that is because both Canada and Mexico
00:49:56.420 have allowed an unprecedented invasion of illegal fentanyl that is killing American citizens
00:50:02.340 and also illegal immigrants into our country. In fact, I have more language for you right here.
00:50:08.380 Canada, Mexico and China, which, as I mentioned, President Trump will implement a 10 percent
00:50:12.740 tariff on China, have all enabled illegal drugs to pour into America. The amount of fentanyl that
00:50:18.300 has been seized at the southern border in the last two years alone has the potential to kill
00:50:23.000 tens of millions of Americans.
00:50:25.240 And so the president is intent on doing this.
00:50:27.480 And I think Justin Trudeau would be wise
00:50:29.340 to talk to President Trump directly
00:50:30.660 before pushing outlandish comments like that to the media.
00:50:37.080 All right, you may have been hearing
00:50:39.800 from the left-wing corporate media here at home
00:50:42.140 and from the federal liberal government
00:50:44.700 that we don't have a fentanyl problem in Canada.
00:50:47.100 You're not getting any...
00:50:47.900 There's no fentanyl going from Canada to the United States.
00:50:50.720 What are you, crazy?
00:50:53.000 Well, we're going to investigate that in just a second.
00:50:57.740 In the meantime, a candidate for the leadership of the Liberal Party, who has never been elected
00:51:05.100 to any political office in this country, spoke to the country today about these tariffs.
00:51:13.440 I found this odd, ballsy, and not in a good way.
00:51:20.780 President Trump thinks Canada will cave in.
00:51:27.200 We will never, ever bow down to a bully.
00:51:35.280 Canadians will always stick together.
00:51:42.160 And we won't stand by as tariffs hurt our workers and their families.
00:51:47.760 need to remain united now let me be clear this situation unfortunately could not be more serious
00:51:57.740 and at times like these we need serious leadership and a serious plan
00:52:04.380 i'm ready to stand up for canada who's with me
00:52:10.300 i'm sorry bud but you don't speak for anybody you don't and i found that
00:52:24.000 very presumptuous for him to to say that if polyev had said something like that
00:52:31.740 it would still be presumptuous but not nearly as bad as this considering all the polling that
00:52:39.180 we've seen in the past 18 to 24 months that show the Conservative Party ahead by anywhere from 20
00:52:45.740 to 30 points. Even though that lead does seem to be eroding in the past couple of weeks,
00:52:51.500 ECOS polling notwithstanding. Here is Pierre Polyev today, today, not talking about tariffs.
00:53:01.800 Just as I predicted, today, Mark Carney announced that he will pause Trudeau's carbon tax,
00:53:09.180 until after the election, and then bring in a much bigger tax that has no rebate.
00:53:16.960 Mr. Carney has been Justin Trudeau's economic growth advisor,
00:53:21.080 who's been saying for years that not only does he support a consumer carbon tax,
00:53:25.820 but that he thinks the tax must be much higher.
00:53:28.340 Now, before I get into the details, let me address a little tax trick that he has planned.
00:53:34.120 It's kind of clever.
00:53:34.620 he's announced that he will pause the carbon tax for a few months right before
00:53:39.380 the election to trick people into re-electing the Liberals. After the
00:53:43.320 election he will bring in a much bigger carbon tax when he no longer needs your
00:53:47.940 vote but still needs your money. He has said that this bigger carbon tax will
00:53:53.700 only apply to businesses. Well that's how it is now when you fill up your tank
00:53:58.440 today there's no CRA tax collector standing there waiting to collect it
00:54:02.340 from you. It applies on the wholesale industry, which passes it on to the retail vendor who pass
00:54:08.300 it on to you. And that is what he will do again. Only this time it will be a much bigger tax. And
00:54:14.880 he has admitted there will be no rebate to pay you back the cost. He has called it a shadow
00:54:22.340 carbon tax. Listen in. We need to use effectively a shadow carbon price. You know who will love this
00:54:28.420 idea? President Donald Trump. Mr. Carney's new and bigger tax on Canadian lumber mills, steel mills,
00:54:36.780 factories and aluminum plants will force them to leave for the United States. Here we have
00:54:42.480 the threat of U.S. sanctions on our industry and Mark Carney thinks now is the time to hit our
00:54:51.500 businesses with higher taxes. You can picture President Trump calling our businesses and
00:54:57.040 telling them to move south of the border where there is no carbon tax and where other taxes are dropping.
00:55:03.020 Carbon Tax Carney will give you a pause in the Liberal tax for a few months just to get through the election.
00:55:10.820 And then he'll bring in the mother of all carbon taxes, a job-killing, inflationary carbon tax
00:55:16.580 that will drive jobs into the hands of President Trump.
00:55:20.380 My common sense plan will axe the tax for everyone forever.
00:55:25.060 I'll also axe the sales tax on home building to save you up to 50 grand on a new home.
00:55:31.060 Finally, we'll cut income taxes so hard work pays off.
00:55:35.060 We'll cut bureaucracy, consultants, corporate welfare, foreign aid, and other ways to save the money
00:55:41.060 that can bring down your taxes and our country's debt.
00:55:45.060 We must immediately pass a massive bring-it-home tax cut on work, investment, energy, home building,
00:55:52.060 home building and making stuff in canada canada first canada last canada always let's bring it
00:56:00.460 home didn't say anything about tariffs he needs to say something about tariffs and not what he
00:56:09.140 said earlier this week yeah yeah we got to go dollar for dollar with the united states we will
00:56:12.900 get crushed if that's the case okay so let's go through this and this is a bad story from left-wing
00:56:21.460 corporate global. I'm sorry, guys. It's the only one that I could find. Trump's tariffs on Canada
00:56:26.140 coming. How soon could prices rise? By the way, the oil tariff is going to be 10%. Now, we're hearing
00:56:36.860 it's not going to come in tomorrow. It's going to come in in a couple of weeks' time. But there will
00:56:41.040 be a tariff on oil exports or imports to the United States, exports from Canada. There will
00:56:48.320 be a tariff on oil at 10 percent not 25 percent but i've heard it might not be coming in for a
00:56:54.900 couple of weeks and then again it could be coming in as early as tomorrow at showtime tonight that
00:56:59.620 was still unclear anyway with ottawa expected to respond with retaliatory tariffs how long will it
00:57:07.800 take before we feel the impact on the foods and items we purchase the impact could be immediate
00:57:14.600 depending on the sector said david dinesh the ceo of alliance trade in canada a company that
00:57:20.220 specializes in supply trade insurance he added there are concerns that any oil and gas tariffs
00:57:25.680 will result in potential increases in gas prices in the united states by 75 cents a gallon therefore
00:57:32.300 any transportation costs for goods coming into canada from the usa would be impacted companies
00:57:37.140 need to pass on the increases especially for lower margin products on thursday trump said
00:57:42.980 said Canadian oil and gas may or may not be included in the tariffs,
00:57:46.500 but it will be.
00:57:50.880 Tom Nagayan, economist at RSM Canada,
00:57:54.740 said Canada's retaliatory tariffs could also have an impact on prices.
00:57:58.700 The impact will vary widely based on several factors,
00:58:01.560 including which goods are included,
00:58:03.800 whether there are Canadian substitutes
00:58:06.020 and how much of the tariffs are passed on to consumers
00:58:08.980 if Canada retaliates.
00:58:10.540 and, well, it looks like, prices of many U.S. imports would jump Sylvanas Afesokbar.
00:58:21.280 Try and say that name three times fast.
00:58:25.040 A professor of agri-food trade and policy at the University of Guelph said Canadians will feel the impact of tariffs on grocery store shelves fairly quickly.
00:58:35.300 And it's going to be mostly on non-perishables.
00:58:37.640 We import about 60% of our food from the U.S.
00:58:40.300 If we impose reiterated tariff, it means the price of food is going up, going to go up by the amount of the tariff, 25%.
00:58:48.460 He said it's going to get costlier on some grocery stuffs a lot faster.
00:58:55.060 He says goods that have no close Canadian substitutes and are perishable would see the increases first.
00:59:01.180 Fruits and vegetables, which Canada imports quite a bit in the winter months, businesses cannot stock up on perishables the way they do with non-perishables.
00:59:07.720 therefore the impact would be felt almost right away i wonder if maybe you should brush out to
00:59:15.940 the grocery store well you still have time before it closes tonight because these tariffs and i i'm
00:59:23.760 not sure if the grocery stores are going to respond right away too they're going to have
00:59:28.960 to reprice everything but then again they're working on product that they've already got
00:59:33.240 tariff free, at least for now. But what they did say during COVID, as I recall, if there was ever
00:59:40.320 a rush on food, toilet paper, that kind of thing at a grocery store, any one grocery store is
00:59:47.920 stocked enough if they receive no shipments of anything to last, depending on traffic,
00:59:53.660 moderate traffic three to five days and then that'd be it so in three to five days from the
01:00:04.160 time these tariffs go into effect tomorrow we're going to start seeing some increases now the
01:00:12.340 canadian government has been saying that we don't have any fentanyl here it's not getting across the
01:00:17.260 u.s border how dare trump say that it's all coming from mexico they got like thousands and thousands
01:00:22.720 of pounds from mexico this is only what's been found from mexico in the last five years but
01:00:28.840 canada 40 pounds what's that nothing it's nothing well maybe it's because these fentanyl labs are
01:00:36.980 allowed to operate with impunity and maybe they're not getting checked at the borders and what's the
01:00:43.040 reason for that and this is why trump has had a bee in his bonnet about our border situation
01:00:48.080 because the fentanyl comes from China
01:00:51.440 and Canada's border,
01:00:54.000 at least the equipment used at Canada's border,
01:00:57.040 comes from China.
01:01:02.740 We covered this a little bit in the show last night
01:01:05.380 with Wayne Peters from What's Up Canada.
01:01:07.440 So here's a story that's back from December 22nd.
01:01:11.520 CBC story.
01:01:13.100 Drug superlabs leave a toxic mess.
01:01:15.260 Some say B.C.'s cleanup rules are a mess, too.
01:01:19.020 What? Drug super labs?
01:01:22.320 We don't have those here.
01:01:25.480 RCMP in B.C. have spent around $2 million to remove chemicals from drug labs in the last five years.
01:01:32.820 Okay, let's hang on to that for just a second.
01:01:35.900 This story from left-wing corporate Global News goes back to 2020, from July of 2020.
01:01:41.880 Canadian minister promises review after security contracts awarded to Chinese state tech company.
01:01:50.240 Okay?
01:01:51.300 So, Trump knows who controls our border, and it's not Canada.
01:02:04.000 Canada's minister of foreign affairs, and again, this goes back almost five years now,
01:02:08.240 has promised to review Ottawa's purchasing of security equipment
01:02:12.000 as details emerge of five contracts awarded to a controversial high-tech company
01:02:17.200 that's connected to the highest levels of the Chinese Communist Party.
01:02:23.040 You guys get that?
01:02:26.260 This week, which is five years ago,
01:02:29.380 Ottawa posted details of the latest winning bid for Beijing-based NewTek
01:02:33.700 in a deal to install X-ray scanning equipment and software
01:02:37.280 to provide security for 170 Canadian embassies, consulates, and high commissions worldwide.
01:02:43.400 Nuke Tech was reportedly founded in 1997 by the son of former Chinese President Hu Jintu,
01:02:49.540 and the security company has rapidly accumulated contracts worldwide
01:02:53.060 for sensitive airport and border security infrastructure,
01:02:57.020 while attracting criticism for alleged unfair business practices
01:03:00.440 and allegations of corruption in Africa.
01:03:03.040 according to the national post which first reported last five years ago on new tech's new
01:03:10.260 deal with global affairs canada the july 2020 contract has an estimated value of 6.8 million
01:03:16.460 dollars documents do not confirm that figure but confirm a contract award date of july the 15th
01:03:22.560 so listen to this global news has found that already since 2017
01:03:29.700 New Tech has been awarded four border security and customs warehouse contracts
01:03:35.480 valued at $6.5 million to provide scanners and lab equipment
01:03:39.180 to Canada Border Services Agency, according to procurement documents.
01:03:43.840 The Minister of Foreign Affairs said he would review Ottawa's purchasing
01:03:48.380 of security equipment.
01:03:50.580 That review never happened.
01:03:52.460 How do I know that?
01:03:53.580 Because I scoured the Internet for an hour looking for something
01:03:57.380 that resembled any kind of review
01:04:00.620 on the purchase of border equipment from China,
01:04:04.720 ReCanada could not find a thing.
01:04:09.960 Now, here's something that, what's his name?
01:04:13.000 The Bureau, Sam Cooper, used to be with Global News.
01:04:15.360 Now he's got his own thing called the Bureau.
01:04:17.280 He put this up on his substack yesterday or early today.
01:04:22.180 Exclusive briefings to liberal government
01:04:24.040 on Chinese infiltration of Vancouver Port
01:04:26.240 and Canada's opioid scourge ignored.
01:04:30.140 We don't have any opioids here.
01:04:33.600 Trump tariffs loom as critics decry Ottawa's Fox
01:04:36.740 in the Hen House approach to border security.
01:04:39.440 Now, this is a very old document, so let's go ahead and read this.
01:04:42.920 As Donald Trump readies sweeping tariffs against Canada tomorrow,
01:04:47.420 citing Ottawa's failure to secure its shared North American borders
01:04:50.640 from fentanyl originating in China,
01:04:52.420 the Bureau has obtained a remarkable December 1999 document from a senior law enforcement official
01:05:00.060 revealing Ottawa's long-standing negligence in securing Vancouver's port against drug trafficking linked to Chinese shipping entities.
01:05:10.840 The letter, drafted by former Crown Prosecutor Scott Newark and addressed to Ottawa's Security Intelligence Review Committee,
01:05:18.880 urged the body to reconsider explosive findings
01:05:22.680 from a leaked RCMP and CSIS report
01:05:25.580 detailing infiltration of Canada's porous borders
01:05:29.060 by Chinese criminal networks.
01:05:33.520 Titled Cirque Review in relation to Project Sidewinder,
01:05:38.420 Newark's letter alleges systemic failures
01:05:40.680 that enabled Chinese State Council-owned shipping giant Costco,
01:05:44.000 not Costco, Costco, and Triads, that's the Chinese gangs,
01:05:48.880 with suspected Chinese military ties to penetrate Vancouver's port system.
01:05:54.740 He further asserts that federal authorities ignored repeated briefings and warnings
01:05:58.820 from Canadian law enforcement, warnings based on intelligence gathered by Canadian officials in Hong Kong
01:06:04.360 who initiated the Sidewinder review.
01:06:07.600 Newark also warned that at this time, 1999, right,
01:06:11.640 Liberal Prime Minister Jean Chrétien's decision to dismantle Canada's specialized ports police
01:06:16.180 and privatized national port control had left the country dangerously exposed to foreign criminal networks,
01:06:23.420 noting he had personally briefed the Canadian government on these concerns as early as 1996.
01:06:28.800 Addressing his letter to Cirque's chair, Quebec lawyer Paul Gauthier, Newark wrote,
01:06:33.980 as the former executive officer through 94-98 of the Canadian Police Association,
01:06:40.180 I was assigned responsibility for dealing with the issue
01:06:43.280 of the federal government's changes to control
01:06:46.080 of the national ports and policing therein.
01:06:49.140 This involved close examination on matters
01:06:51.460 like drugs, weapons, and people smuggling.
01:06:55.040 People smuggling through the national ports,
01:06:58.280 and in particular, both the growing presence
01:07:00.740 of organized criminal groups at ports
01:07:02.680 and the ominous hazard control of those ports
01:07:05.180 by such groups represented. 1.00
01:07:06.820 Are we infested with Chinese gangs in Canada? 1.00
01:07:12.540 Sure sounds like it.
01:07:15.000 Newark's letter goes on to allege widespread failures in Ottawa
01:07:18.300 that facilitated Chinese triad infiltration of Vancouver's port,
01:07:23.480 revealing federal authorities' reluctance to act on warnings from RCMP officer Gary Clement
01:07:28.440 and immigration control officer Brian McAdam,
01:07:31.680 former Canadian officials based in Hong Kong,
01:07:34.240 who had sounded the alarm prompting the sidewinder review.
01:07:37.360 You don't think Donald Trump knows this?
01:07:41.080 Of course he knows this.
01:07:45.600 Newark explained to Sirk's chair that during his tenure as executive officer
01:07:50.560 of the Canadian Police Association,
01:07:52.440 he prepared approximately 50 detailed policy briefs for the government
01:07:57.220 and regularly appeared before parliamentary committees
01:08:00.040 and in private ministerial briefings.
01:08:02.020 I can assure you that in all of that time, no clearer warning was ever given by Canada's rank-and-file police officers to the national government than what was done in our unsuccessful attempt to prevent the disbandment of the specialized Canada Ports Police in combination with the privatization of the ports themselves, Newark's letter to Cirque states.
01:08:23.500 The letter continues, noting that in October of 1996, Newark met with Khrushchev's transport minister, David Anderson, later addressing the transport committee to highlight the imminent threat posed by Asian organized crimes infiltration of port operations.
01:08:40.220 Newark's written briefing to the minister underscored the gravity of the situation with a blunt question.
01:08:45.760 Who exactly are the commercial port operators?
01:08:48.420 citing the anderson briefing document newark's letter to cirque states that anderson had been
01:08:55.040 warned we are for example aware of serious concerns amongst the international law enforcement
01:09:01.140 community surrounding the ownership of ports and container industries in asia and in particular
01:09:06.220 hong kong taiwan and the people's republic of china there is simply no longer any doubt that
01:09:11.380 drugs like heroin and again this is 1999 so now it's fentanyl are coming from these destinations
01:09:17.620 through the port of Vancouver,
01:09:19.520 moved by organized criminal gangs
01:09:21.680 whose assets include legitimate properties.
01:09:27.780 Nothing has changed.
01:09:33.080 Harper, now Trudeau, Paul Martin,
01:09:38.540 none of them did anything to fix that port.
01:09:42.980 I'm not sure if you guys have seen this video,
01:09:45.120 shocking video.
01:09:46.020 It's only about 14 minutes long.
01:09:47.420 i can play it twice for you of a young girl in vancouver screaming at the top of her lungs
01:09:55.260 that there's people in those containers watch that
01:09:59.760 there's people screaming in there every night i've heard it for myself
01:10:07.140 the city's trying to cover it up trying to get everybody out of here because 0.93
01:10:11.300 they know there's people in those fucking beings 0.93
01:10:14.120 let's go back to the beginning of that 0.99
01:10:19.420 screaming at the top of her lungs she's heard it for herself she says i'd like to track her down
01:10:27.500 i'd like to talk to her 0.65
01:10:28.500 fuck that port there's people screaming there every night i've heard it for myself 1.00
01:10:38.160 the city's trying to cover it up trying to get everybody out of here because
01:10:42.300 i know it's tough to believe right this is canada man we're nice we don't have this stuff
01:10:54.900 for anybody who lives in a small town watching this show right now this is like
01:10:59.900 beyond grasp of reality you know i'll tell you this i live in winnipeg you guys know this it's
01:11:09.060 a city of 900,000 people. It's not huge. It's not tiny. It's downtown is degraded so badly
01:11:16.600 that I now feel concerned. I'm not going to say scared, but I feel concerned walking down there
01:11:23.480 because you don't know who's just going to jump out from some dark corner and jab you with a
01:11:28.980 needle or stab you with a knife and take whatever you happen to have on you. Nobody wants to go
01:11:34.340 downtown the jets play downtown that's where their home arena is and uh i can tell you this
01:11:42.320 people don't like going down there even for jets games
01:11:45.860 i can't imagine what downtown vancouver is like
01:11:52.120 i don't know about edmonton i don't know calgary seems cleaner but i don't know i mean i haven't
01:12:00.600 lived there in 25 years toronto it's got some seedy areas montreal's got some seedy areas the
01:12:07.540 bigger the city the bigger the seedy area we don't know what happens in these seedy areas
01:12:14.560 but we know that fentanyl deaths are through the roof
01:12:19.760 and now people smuggling there's people in those freaking bins 1.00
01:12:27.200 she's screaming at the top of her lungs who is that girl find her we need to 0.99
01:12:32.880 find her and the guy taking that video chuckling just living in the matrix man
01:12:41.100 not understanding reality but anyway the reason I got into that tonight is
01:12:46.960 simply because Donald Trump knows all of this he knows this is all going on in
01:12:51.420 Canada and that's why he was asking for stricter border controls not just on
01:12:56.500 ports of entry. You know, that's how we think of it, right? Well, a port of entry, I go through
01:13:01.580 Pemita and Emerson, and I go through Buffalo and Niagara Falls, and I go through Detroit, Windsor.
01:13:09.760 No. Ports, man. Shipping ports, airports, how this stuff gets here. That's what he wants
01:13:18.980 tightened up. Cargo. And what do they do? They put a bunch of game wardens at the border.
01:13:26.500 there was a press conference the other day premier wab canoe of manitoba standing you know how they
01:13:35.640 politicians stand at a podium they got the microphone in front of them they got people
01:13:39.380 behind them all the time well there were five game wardens standing behind wab canoe and i
01:13:43.540 thought what each one of them gets 200 miles drive back and forth looking for some illegals
01:13:54.400 or maybe a bag of white powder?
01:13:57.300 Come on, man.
01:13:58.820 One more thing before I go tonight.
01:14:00.600 By the way, I'm sorry, you guys, All Access members,
01:14:03.880 I don't have an extension for you tonight.
01:14:06.680 I do have to be someplace.
01:14:09.140 A friend of mine is coming in from out of town,
01:14:11.960 landing at the airport at 9.30,
01:14:13.760 so I promised I would go meet him at 10 o'clock.
01:14:17.360 He's got to leave tomorrow morning,
01:14:18.640 so I haven't got a lot of time here.
01:14:20.520 One last thing from the government of Canada. They have announced that they're deferring the implementation of the change to the capital gains inclusion rate. Obviously, this is because of the upcoming election. Oh, we can't be seen to raise taxes right now. Absolutely not. So we're going to defer this.
01:14:45.200 When we're not in power, we're going to defer this to next year,
01:14:47.580 and let the conservatives worry about it.
01:14:49.700 So the thing is that Revenue Canada, I believe,
01:14:54.240 had already started trying to collect this, or were preparing to.
01:14:57.820 So what the hell's going on?
01:15:01.700 This is not a serious country that we live in.
01:15:04.420 I love you all.
01:15:05.420 I appreciate you all, and I will catch you guys.
01:15:07.760 Oh, Monday night, Monday night.
01:15:09.640 This is actually going to be kind of a fun show
01:15:11.420 because we've got a politician coming on Monday night
01:15:14.080 who's not really a politician at all he's a business owner he's a regular guy like us i had
01:15:20.000 lunch with him last week his name is wally doddrich and wally is running for the leadership of the
01:15:26.260 progressive conservative party of manitoba and his only competitor is a guy called obby con for those
01:15:31.840 of you who live outside of manitoba i think wally's gonna win he's just a regular guy
01:15:38.120 and i i played a clip of him the other night just talking he's not polished
01:15:45.240 you know he doesn't speak in sound bites he's just a dude i think it would be one of the coolest
01:15:53.120 things and he believes as we believe just so you're aware it would be one of the coolest things
01:15:58.360 if a guy like this won the leadership of one of the two major parties in manitoba and then went
01:16:04.740 on to win somehow and become premier now that's a long shot and that's still a few years away but
01:16:12.200 wally joins the show on monday night you guys have a great weekend and i will catch you then
01:16:18.100 i love you all i appreciate you all and i will talk to you soon bye for now
01:16:34.740 Thank you.
