00:12:12.420 of independent MLAs today. And here's

00:12:16.380 what they had to say.

00:12:17.200 ...to report credible evidence indicating that

00:12:21.260 John Rustad and his senior staff may have committed election

00:12:25.380 fraud during the Conservative Party of BC's AGM

00:12:29.160 this last March.

00:12:32.480 I believe that John Rustad and his senior staff

00:12:36.480 rigged the party's own election. It was this belief and his unprincipled

00:12:43.800 expulsion of my colleague, Dallas Brody, that compelled me to leave the party. The

00:12:53.000 purpose of this press conference is to share some of this evidence with the

00:12:57.780 public and call upon the Conservative Party of BC to do the right thing and

00:13:04.740 undertake an independent third-party audit of the party's AGM election

00:13:10.980 processes. Shortly after the party's AGM on March 1st, a senior member of John

00:13:19.080 Rustad's executive team made the following confessions to me. This

00:13:24.980 individual stated that over 100 South Asian men were sent by bus and ferry by

00:13:32.860 party for the specific purpose of voting for John's slate of directors and a new

00:13:38.920 Constitution. I was advised that the Conservative Party of BC paid

00:13:45.820 approximately $100,000 to get these individuals to and from the AGM and on

00:13:54.160 other measures to rig this election. The assertions include that John Rustad and

00:14:01.240 all other senior staff were aware and complicit of this. Heavy coercion was

00:14:08.680 used by John's senior staff to the point that this individual's career was

00:14:14.080 thought to be at stake without cooperation. Furthermore, the ferry

00:14:19.720 tickets for over these over 100 people were paid on a credit card in the staff

00:14:25.360 member's name. So it is this person's belief that John Rustad will attempt to

00:14:31.660 single him out and scapegoat once the truth about the AGM is revealed to the

00:14:36.880 public. What we want by speaking out about this is for the truth to finally be

00:14:46.000 told. These confessions are supplemented by credible evidence and many other

00:14:52.060 witnesses. My fellow independent MLAs and other witnesses here will be sharing

00:14:58.960 some of that information shortly. I'll close by saying I had no choice

00:15:04.820 ethically, morally, from an integrity perspective to leave the Conservative

00:15:11.500 Party of BC. With what I know I could never ask you, my constituents, or any

00:15:20.320 other British Columbian to donate your valuable time and money to a party that

00:15:25.780 appears to have been corrupted. We still don't know the full extent of this

00:15:32.060 corruption, but we hope it will be revealed in time. Several sitting

00:15:38.880 conservative MLAs are aware of the situation I speak of, and yet it is only

00:15:44.980 the three of us independents that stand here today, along with a couple of

00:15:49.700 wonderful, brave witnesses. I want to speak to those MLAs now with conviction. Will you

00:15:58.800 finally do the right thing and tell the truth? Thank you.

00:16:33.220 neglected provincially. Initially, I thought the Conservative Party of BC and John Rustad

00:16:54.880 I believe that John Rostad and his senior staff rate the party's election for their AGM.
