00:00:00.000 to the shadow at night live stream it's friday february the 18th 2022 i know a lot of people are
00:00:08.320 not feeling too great about today after watching some of the video from independent journalists
00:00:13.600 streaming out of ottawa all day long we woke up this morning didn't know what to expect we knew
00:00:20.240 that at some point there was going to be some sort of police action if you've been watching pat king
00:00:25.520 at all for the past few days they've been following different school buses around different
00:00:30.780 transit buses around uh monitoring the situation their their possible training facilities and they
00:00:41.680 were trying to discern what the cops were going to do and how they were going to do it but
00:00:45.600 nobody seemed to be able to figure out that it was going to happen today and how could they
00:00:50.780 but hundreds of cops poured into the downtown nevada with today and we're going to show you
00:00:58.460 some video in just a second let's just wait for the stream to fill up a little bit and say hello
00:01:02.200 to some people because i think we could all use a little bit of camaraderie and companionship right
00:01:07.600 about now, so hello Cheryl, hello Bella, and Tessa, hello Janet, hello Freedom Bear, how 0.57
00:01:21.900 you doing tonight buddy, there's our buddy Stevie, hi Barb, oops that's Amanda, this
00:01:32.600 is barb here hey barb how you doing here's uh sandy i'm not sure if you guys have had a chance
00:01:41.200 to even see this video today let me give you the uh let me give you the bigger screen here so you'll
00:01:47.140 get a chance to get some eyes on it of course the show is brought to you by tacit investigations
00:01:51.200 and security and by canada nanosilver.ca where the 25 immune pack bundle is still on sale and
00:01:58.540 tacit investigations and security will have another t-shirt to give away later on tonight
00:02:03.120 let's start with this one here this guy this handsome fellow here is a reporter for true north
00:02:08.340 tnc.news true north the online i guess you can call it an online news station online media source
00:02:17.640 so andrew who has a bi-weekly show not bi-weekly a couple of times a week he's on tnc great
00:02:25.240 commenter i like his stuff he was on the ground in ottawa today and he got pepper sprayed so here
00:02:30.780 he is telling us all about it hey guys this is andrew lawton with true north i've had a bunch
00:02:40.600 of questions uh just kind of asking me to explain what's been happening here so i'm going to give
00:02:45.260 you a little bit of an update if you didn't see a little while ago i tweeted that i had been
00:02:50.760 pepper sprayed by police and i don't i mean i don't know pepper spray is the correct terminology
00:02:56.140 but i think by all in by all accounts it is and you can still see kind of my left eye is still
00:03:00.420 a bit red and droopy i'm feeling fine i've got my vision back um face is still burning a little bit
00:03:06.220 and there's like kind of a little taste in my mouth but i want to explain what happened because
00:03:10.320 i'm still kind of replaying it and i'm quite confused by it quite frankly so all morning long
00:03:16.240 whenever police have been moving forward it's been very deliberate it's been very steady
00:03:21.120 and you can kind of walk back with them um no i've never been you know face to face with with
00:03:27.240 the police and i wasn't earlier i was about three people back uh just near i'll show you
00:03:32.060 just kind of the line has moved forward but i was at the the front of those columns in front
00:03:38.220 of the shadow laureate and what had happened was um that was typically the area where people were
00:03:45.900 thinned out and you could kind of linger back so there were a lot of like journalists and camera
00:03:50.360 people and photographers there and um and so it was kind of like a safe place to be and get a look
00:03:56.380 at it so the police had made a couple of very aggressive moves forward advancing very quickly
00:04:03.780 a lot more quickly than earlier not like stepping methodically but actually pushing forward um so
00:04:08.960 the distance between me and them had shrunk but I was still about six seven eight feet back and I
00:04:14.040 know specifically because there were at least two people between me and the police so I was a few
00:04:19.300 people deep and there was at one point the horses the mounted horseback police had just done a
00:04:25.680 really swift move into the crowd and the riot police at the front line with the batons pushed
00:04:31.960 forward hugely and quickly but they were going so quickly that I almost had to like run back like I
00:04:38.280 couldn't just take a few steps back and I didn't want to run backwards because there were people
00:04:41.220 behind me uh and i did i happened to be looking forward and i saw a police officer and again i
00:04:46.760 don't know if it was ottawa police but they're the ones in charge and i saw the canister the the
00:04:51.520 canister lift up and with liquid coming out of it and it all it wasn't slow motion or anything
00:04:56.640 dramatic like that but but i saw it come and then just instantly i just felt my my face get wet and
00:05:02.440 then um my eye just like i had to close because it was just burning so much and like i started to
00:05:07.240 taste into my mouth um and again i'm not like i'm not one of the like it's not debilitating like i'm
00:05:13.460 still i hope i hope my eye opens uh i hope my eye opens uh again to the full to the full level um
00:05:20.420 but i'm still baffled because in all honesty i have been obeying every single command to move
00:05:26.840 back uh there were other journalists around i wasn't in an area where journalists weren't i was
00:05:31.540 actually doing what a lot of other media were but for whatever reason that stream came to me like
00:05:37.920 I don't I didn't see anyone else that went down like I did like I kind of hutched over but
00:05:42.060 no I'm still kind of quite surprised because it didn't align with the peaceable nature of
00:05:50.680 certainly me but everyone else at this particular point so I had a lot of questions so I wanted to
00:05:54.920 give you a little bit of an update I am I like I think I'm fine I haven't looked up if there are
00:05:59.340 any long-term effects or anything like i guess that someone told me i should rinse it out with
00:06:03.540 milk but i i don't have any milk available to me but uh that's what happens uh right in front of
00:06:08.920 the shadow laurier we'll talk to you soon andrew lawton reporter for tnc.news pepper spray today in
00:06:16.820 ottawa as he was covering the police kettling the uh the protesters interesting now guys i want to
00:06:27.340 tell you that some of the video you're going to see in the next few minutes if you haven't seen
00:06:31.600 it already can be very disturbing um this one in particular is pretty bad as the police rolled out
00:06:42.340 their cavalry unit have a look
00:06:57.340 Thank you. 0.99
00:07:27.340 now that's that's only one of the cavalry there is a video available of an older lady
00:07:41.140 being run down by a horse now i haven't got that one for you here tonight it is
00:07:47.700 on the page if you go down a couple of posts you'll see it there
00:07:50.460 we're going to have todd mcdougall from winnipeg alternative media join us in just a couple of
00:07:57.140 minutes todd is there on the ground he captured a lot of this stuff himself and and was streaming
00:08:01.640 live today on wham wham.live here's another one cops taking a guy down and then kneeing him while
00:08:09.380 he's on the ground
00:08:27.140 okay there's that one and now we have this one just a couple of people sitting in their truck
00:08:43.780 minding their own business watch what happens here
00:08:57.140 You got a chance to get out now, or just drag you out?
00:09:07.140 Get out of the car! Turn the car arrest!
00:09:09.140 Do not touch that! Turn your vehicle off! Do it now!
00:09:12.140 Turn your vehicle off! Do it now!
00:09:15.140 Unlock the door! Do it now!
00:09:19.140 I'm not sure if you guys caught that, so we're going to give it to you again here.
00:09:31.640 Cops actually broke the windows of the truck.
00:09:40.880 Right there.
00:09:41.600 Do you guys have a chance to get out now or just drag you out?
00:09:45.940 And again.
00:09:49.140 Turn your vehicle off.
00:09:52.860 Do it now.
00:09:53.880 Turn your vehicle off.
00:09:55.200 Do it now.
00:09:58.480 Unlock the door.
00:09:59.800 Do it now.
00:10:01.800 Too late.
00:10:02.720 Too late.
00:10:04.040 Too late.
00:10:06.760 I would say that's third world kind of stuff, you guys.
00:10:16.780 I mean, these cops were brutal today.
00:10:19.680 They were like, Todd, it seems like they were like stormtroopers from a Star Wars movie or something.
00:10:30.860 I mean, to have watched this for the past almost month and see what was brought against people today.
00:10:42.320 I mean, of course, yeah, it's sad.
00:10:44.640 It's emotional.
00:10:45.340 but also it just looks downright silly it looks downright silly uh i mean the the the rcmp tactical
00:10:54.560 units the fact that they're loaded with uh with all kinds of different riot control weapons and
00:11:00.500 even beyond that as well too i might add um the armored vehicles uh the horses are kind of one
00:11:08.880 thing and you know i will add this you know when they were first standing awfully well behind the
00:11:12.220 lines they're beautiful horses they're wonderful Clydesdales but but to watch them go ahead and
00:11:19.420 use them against the crowd I mean there's so many different versions of what happened today which is
00:11:23.900 just it's yeah it's the the tears that I saw in people today um you know it's something of course
00:11:32.680 that uh I'll never I'll never forget but there is a a really great sense of pride and positivity
00:11:41.400 still here in this crowd and here in downtown ottawa um i've just once again walked wellington
00:11:48.180 um just before coming on here with you and thanks again for having me on shadow it's a pleasure to
00:11:53.300 be here again for everybody um uh and again the the night is quiet right now i just watched a
00:12:01.660 police line leave for the night from the area that they have spent their time taking and this is this
00:12:09.820 is very awkward um i mean what i stumbled upon today which happened to just be right place at
00:12:17.040 the right time or wrong place at the right time or wrong place at the wrong time however you want
00:12:20.620 to go look at it i guess i mean it's it's it's it's horribly awkward uh but i came down here
00:12:26.180 to wellington today expecting what we had always thought for the last several days which is that
00:12:31.700 the outlying groups on sort of the outside from the downtown area you know at the first blocks
00:12:37.580 where convoy starts would be where they you know where they where they try to move in and punish
00:12:42.640 people and that ended up being somewhat correct early today we're off of nicholas just a short
00:12:48.040 away just a short ways from where i am right now it's actually it's kind of just down here actually
00:12:51.740 um is where they they did that that that's where that clip comes from where they smashed the
00:12:57.140 windows and dragged truckers out of their trucks but then again maybe because it was filmed and
00:13:02.840 then already started to hit social media and go kind of worldwide i don't know maybe that changed
00:13:08.000 something but regardless of that and there's no way for me to you know really properly understand
00:13:12.680 that right now for anybody that that those clips yeah they took place at the kind of area where we
00:13:17.740 would have thought that's where aggression might begin but for whatever other reason today it was
00:13:25.820 very well planned, organized, and decided. And interestingly enough, it was just a few short
00:13:32.740 days ago. I'm sure a lot of people might have seen some of these clips where very early Thursday
00:13:38.380 morning, I was standing there with a lot of, that's a lot of people down that area that
00:13:44.400 everything started today at Sussex and Rideau, just in front of the Chateau Laurier, just off
00:13:50.500 of Wellington. So just off of Parliament Hill. I was standing with them a couple days ago as the
00:13:55.520 police presence around that area started to build up and as we could clearly tell that they were
00:14:00.040 staging out of the Chateau Laurier and I filmed that and at that same time that I filmed that I
00:14:05.640 also filmed the gates and everything else going up at Parliament Hill and all that and you know
00:14:09.960 that was notable at the time but we still thought that those aggressive pushes would come from more
00:14:15.080 of the the outside several blocks away from kind of the main area but instead today they built up
00:14:22.880 their police lines and built up all the riot gear and built up all the armed guards and built up all
00:14:27.560 the armored vehicles down by rideau and sussex and decided that they were going to by absolute force
00:14:35.060 absolute force take that area and um i just happened to wander upon that right when they
00:14:41.420 were staging and then everything well i'm sure if anybody's seen my clips i filmed for about
00:14:47.280 almost two hours solid watching that whole thing take place and it was well the most
00:14:55.520 tragic it's a real situation uh let me ask you this are these all ottawa police or are these
00:15:03.420 no from everywhere uh we filmed uh different badge numbers which i even reported live on stream you
00:15:09.920 know the badge numbers and where they were coming from uh mostly a lot of toronto police here's the
00:15:15.260 here was the deal and this was interesting as well too and there's conversations about this as well
00:15:18.740 too having to do with um the certain jurisdictions around here because there's so many federal and
00:15:24.220 provincial different jurisdictions right here in the downtown area when you're around parliament
00:15:28.240 hill and so there's conversations about just different jurisdictions and how that plays into
00:15:32.480 the situation i can't really speak to that i'm just saying those are conversations um but uh
00:15:39.860 The Ottawa police took the line first in very just sort of normal gear, not tactical gear, not riot police gear, just police officers holding a line.
00:15:52.260 Shortly after that had been done for, I don't know, maybe half an hour-ish, then it quickly turned into the Toronto police moved in.
00:16:00.560 They had the larger gear.
00:16:02.220 They had the guns with the tear gas canisters on them.
00:16:06.520 They had the riot police gear ready around them already.
00:16:09.860 And then they were following up with the RCMP, with the horses, and, of course, also with tactical units that had armored vehicles and all kinds of other things.
00:16:21.320 And then that line, a line that was South Sussex started first and moved in on the crowd first, then all of a sudden the warnings came out.
00:16:32.900 what if they move in from the other areas and almost as if the few people who said that
00:16:37.100 were predicting the worst uh they were proven correct without too much time uh taking place
00:16:44.240 and then we were quartered and and then the obvious situation that we've seen time and time
00:16:49.280 again of crowd control which is called kettling uh ended up taking place where then they moved
00:16:56.480 in from all sides and then as they as they then decide it was then noticeable that they were moving
00:17:03.700 from all sides and completely take that area completely take that intersection then they
00:17:08.980 started breaking out the the loudspeakers you must leave uh via this direction or you will all be
00:17:14.660 arrested uh then that started playing very loudly to the crowd and then the larger riot control uh
00:17:21.400 sort of gear started to move in and then it became from quickly quickly quickly uh from
00:17:27.400 a peaceful line from you know officers and peaceful protesters to push 10 feet push 10 feet
00:17:37.040 push 10 feet and once that started and people started to try to hold those lines they were
00:17:41.780 taken down in all kinds of aggressive fashions i have film of people having you know knees and
00:17:47.180 elbows right on their throat uh old ladies getting taken down uh the veterans got taken down there
00:17:53.660 were veterans holding the line all badged up with like medals all across their chest
00:17:57.800 ripped right out of the line thrown to the ground handcuffed not handcuffed actually the majority of
00:18:04.040 them uh zip tied i should say that's the typical riot uh police sort of way of doing it because
00:18:09.060 they were zip tying people yes yeah zip tying yeah zip tying like basically like hog tied and
00:18:15.620 then hauled off by multiple people uh like it was never even if they wanted to get up on their own
00:18:20.840 volition i think it was like they got picked up by multiple people and just like led away um i got
00:18:27.280 so much film of that i know it's kind of in the middle we're working on editing it out so we can
00:18:32.580 go show different versions of it but that's being done behind the scenes right now so you might have
00:18:36.600 to wait a bit for that because i didn't mean to film a whole two-hour section of this but
00:18:40.560 you know it was just kind of one thing after the other and i i couldn't cut the feed it was just
00:18:45.540 there was so much happening let me ask you let's get back to the horses for just a second you said
00:18:50.220 there was a lot of different versions of what happened and it looks like the crowd is pushing
00:18:54.640 back on the cops at some point even though we keep hearing people say be peaceful be peaceful
00:19:00.280 were there any crowd members who were aggressive towards the police at least to start with or was
00:19:06.380 it always the cops being the aggressors first the most i can say for that because of course i don't
00:19:12.920 have the best eyes on every last little incident i usually when somebody all of a sudden gets taken
00:19:18.460 here's the way it goes when there's a melee like that because they're pushing forward and there's
00:19:23.060 clearly people that are just simply saying no no no hold the line which to me isn't really
00:19:27.220 necessarily aggressive it's just simply saying stand where you are right right yeah they're
00:19:31.140 joining hands they're they're already in the middle of like singing or praying or whatever
00:19:36.060 you know they're either they're joining hands and they're just simply saying hold the line i don't
00:19:39.340 i don't view that as aggressive but when those things start to happen and you see them pushing
00:19:44.640 forward regardless then all of a sudden say you know 10 feet 15 feet away from you all of a sudden
00:19:50.180 you see somebody go down and a massive circle of of uniform you know just falls on them and you
00:19:56.680 can't really tell what's happening for a second sometimes that happened closer to me and i got 0.95
00:20:00.540 better views of that and i could see the aggression and it was it was it was well it was pathetic to 0.90
00:20:05.460 say the least like it was way overbearing and completely disgusting uh but uh i i can't honestly
00:20:14.420 say that every time one of those situations happened that uh that it wasn't one of those
00:20:19.320 individuals maybe not turning around i mean i don't think any one of them would be like like
00:20:23.540 saying throwing punches but maybe actually like physically pushing back and just kind of saying
00:20:29.320 no no kind of instead of the usual which is just hold your back to them and say no no no right
00:20:34.860 and you're looking at the crowd you're looking kind of at your supporters which is the the most
00:20:41.200 common response that of course is expected in this type of protest uh and what i saw for the
00:20:47.340 most part it was there individuals that might have went about face and looked right back at
00:20:53.300 an officer and pushed him right back very possible does that mean they should go through what they
00:20:59.640 still ended up going through yeah that's certainly up for debate i would say no uh but well yeah that
00:21:05.500 did happen to the point where here's the one of the more weird things that i saw today as far as
00:21:10.180 like you know well i can't call it police brutality but it was really interesting
00:21:14.820 there was a moment after they had basically taken um radeau and sussex and we were pushed back
00:21:23.800 northbound on sussex and they kept telling us this is for trucks the trucks are going to leave
00:21:27.860 and we all saw this as well too uh where uh was the ex rcmp officer um i'm forgetting his name
00:21:34.420 right now i was right standing there with him he he gave himself up today he uh he uh he went
00:21:42.000 annual bulford bulford thank you yes bulford yes yes who has been a part of the convoy and helping
00:21:47.260 them out since the beginning sorry i forgot the name uh but i was standing with him for a good
00:21:51.940 period of time i actually uh filmed him doing a few interviews with mainstream media and others
00:21:56.400 as he was saying that they were going to try to reach an agreement so that there didn't have to
00:22:01.260 be any more breaking of windows slamming down of people and further aggression from the police
00:22:08.760 so they were saying okay basically at this point in time just to go deal with what's happened today
00:22:15.960 let's go pull off of this corner we can we can go restage our trucks and figure this out
00:22:22.400 they're still giving us wellington because we were off wellington they're still giving us
00:22:26.640 wellington so you know it kind of seemed to make sense that we can pull these trucks off take a
00:22:31.520 break restage them on wellington move on from here uh a conversation between bulford uh some
00:22:38.580 of the officers on the ground that were claiming to be go-betweens between them and their superiors
00:22:43.140 happened live time i filmed that um and uh then shortly after they continued to be so overly
00:22:50.480 aggressive that uh then bulford came back and said the deal is done you're not just letting our
00:22:56.220 trucks move you're punishing people still and then and then that was clearly evident like he made the
00:23:01.620 right call because after they got us way down north sussex plenty of room for the trucks to try
00:23:07.400 to move out of that area the trucks hadn't moved an inch and they were still punishing people and
00:23:12.540 i was concerned that they were still going to screw with the truck drivers and do something
00:23:15.960 else that might have been you know kind of nefarious and and and unnecessary i can't confirm
00:23:21.760 that now i was just asking people down in that direction just about 45 minutes ago as well too
00:23:26.800 saying like look i was concerned about those guys because i i think they were going to get thrown
00:23:31.320 under the bus regardless and i don't know i'm going to be continuing to dig into that one because i
00:23:36.680 had a bad feeling they were still going to screw with those truckers and not just let them leave
00:23:41.460 kind of situation so i don't know about that regardless once we got down that far there was
00:23:47.180 a lady that was coming up and she was saying and i don't it was kind of silly because she sees this
00:23:53.060 big little hand of police officers but she walks up to them anyways and goes i'm an ottawa resident
00:23:56.420 i need to get through here because i live down this way and they were like uh-uh uh-uh uh-uh
00:24:01.520 like they even said right to her we will arrest you we will arrest you and i'm kind of going like
00:24:08.060 well i think i think she was even wearing a mask as well too and all that and she seemed like you
00:24:13.000 know she was pretty honest seeming you know a person and uh shortly after she questioned them
00:24:22.040 and they said like not a chance not a chance then they decided to move the line and they went
00:24:27.120 they did their thing and they went 10 feet 10 feet which means they want to grab 10 feet
00:24:32.560 and and she stood there bewildered still like whoa whoa what and she didn't move for a second
00:24:38.240 and they started to throw her to the ground and she quickly yelled no no no resident thank thank
00:24:45.000 god thankfully enough one of the officers with their hands on her stopped for a second to listen
00:24:51.060 to her and stopped her from falling to the ground uh because i already had yelled briefly 0.96
00:24:56.680 you're gonna take down a resident like a random but they were about to like they pulled her past
00:25:03.060 the line and were already putting their into like they had they had her mid throw to the ground
00:25:08.040 and then stopped her and was like whoa and pulled her back up and then set her on her way
00:25:13.420 but let me ask you about the cops and their attitude i mean you were close enough you could
00:25:18.400 see their faces uh i was watching some video all the cops they had sunglasses on and they had kind
00:25:24.620 of masks that you couldn't see their faces but you probably could you were there are these guys
00:25:31.060 like are they feeling bad being there do you get the vibe that they're embarrassed at all by what
00:25:37.400 they're doing yeah there were several of them that said they had a very very very tough time
00:25:43.780 coming down to do this today that was before things got bad that was kind of one of the first
00:25:49.700 lines and again i don't know how this works because they all have you know you would notice
00:25:53.660 by watching all the clips they all have you know um uh big earmuffs on right because of noise i
00:25:59.380 guess or whatever but it's also for another reason because under that they have earpieces
00:26:03.300 where they're listening to a central command and that central command knows something and what that
00:26:09.840 central command seems to know and this is interesting because i mean i've watched a
00:26:13.160 million different bits of footage i've been around lots of protests as well too even some with you
00:26:17.620 know riot gear to some extent of course nothing like this uh but this is one instance where you
00:26:23.080 really get to understand how they actually perform wanting things to be more aggressive so
00:26:29.200 you can watch them go take a look at people and this might also mean people watching social media
00:26:34.680 somewhere else as well too some of the cops who are still doing what we've already been reporting
00:26:39.860 on for the last few weeks which is we noticed the change in police officer attitude uh from you
00:26:46.200 know wanting to fist bump an elbow bump and shake hands and grab a coffee from somebody and have a
00:26:50.820 conversation with somebody to somebody a little more cold well the same applies even more so to
00:26:56.520 a situation like that where the first line of cops especially the Ottawa police officers that
00:27:01.320 were mostly kind of more plain clothed they were getting tapped on the shoulder like nope you out
00:27:08.500 nope you out and then the same even when the second move went in as well too so the officers
00:27:14.800 who were you know i don't know clearly having an issue with what they were there to follow orders
00:27:21.940 for are given taps on the shoulder and and told to go either take a break or move to the side of
00:27:27.940 the line um and so again it's a situation where as nasty as it seems to have to wrap your head
00:27:33.220 around there's there's there's there's eyes on this i mean i i found this interesting too and
00:27:38.140 i guess this maybe points a hand to how this happens is there were full tactical officers
00:27:42.860 that were just there with like really good looking camera setups filming from behind the lines just
00:27:49.540 filming and i found that like you got drones you got eyes up on the uh on the buildings you got
00:27:55.960 helicopters but you still had guys on the ground with camcorders just filming and so there seems
00:28:05.120 to be this situation where when they need when they need the top brass to be more aggressive
00:28:12.880 there's a way of doing it uh there's a way of managing that and basically creating it making 1.00
00:28:21.320 sure that well hey we need this style of push we need this attitude we can't deal with any softies
00:28:28.760 out there so you know we'll route you out and i i i gotta tell you i think i watched that live time
00:28:34.780 And that's actually one of the most saddest things that I think I watched today, because I watched that also hurt other Canadians as well, too, that are out here, because there was good conversations happening.
00:28:46.900 There were some really, really, really beautiful discourse that I watched happening between peaceful protesters and obviously, I don't want to say agitated, but, you know, well, agitated maybe even some of the right way, you know, officers that were uncomfortable.
00:29:06.340 and because of their uncomfortability they wanted to talk and that just of course only flies for so
00:29:15.400 long and then things change and then after things change then they noticeably get more aggressive
00:29:20.640 and it's just it points out you know what what i'm what i'm saying and that's uh that's really
00:29:27.980 really that's one of the probably the most saddest things that i had seen today because that also
00:29:33.340 took an effect on the crowd watching good officers have to kind of take a back seat
00:29:38.040 to the things that they also had some fears about were there any crowd members telling the police
00:29:46.180 it's not too late you can stand down you can do the right thing of course of course oh man uh you
00:29:54.060 know people saying oh canada like time and time again uh you know didn't did you know did large
00:30:00.820 prayer circles in front of them uh large uh you know holding hand situations uh hugging circles
00:30:06.860 uh people sat just sat and kneeled in front as well too um all kinds of wonderful scenes that
00:30:13.680 i had seen that uh you know really speak to again of course the the atmosphere that's been building
00:30:20.020 out here for about a month solid right now that still exists now even after all that chaos which
00:30:26.460 is pretty incredible i might add uh really really really unbelievable actually um another great
00:30:32.160 reason to be to be you know uh a proud canadian right now i think it's a beautiful thing um but
00:30:37.600 yeah uh do you think you know i want to send a personal throw out to kristen nagel
00:30:42.720 frontline nurses what she has done and of course i've been side by side with her a lot in these
00:30:48.980 situations and again was uh today and uh her speeches to some of the officers as somebody
00:30:57.400 who's gone through hell and back as a as a mother a parent uh you know a nurse you know a career
00:31:03.820 woman and all that and then an activist is um is really second to none and she's done an amazing
00:31:11.560 job go watch her instagram lives in the past three weeks it's amazing uh but uh what she did
00:31:16.680 today was was second to nine as well too and i was uh very very very kind of proud to go stand
00:31:21.280 shoulder to shoulder with her for a while well she looked these officers right in the eye and said
00:31:26.660 i'm like i'm a parent my children are here in this city and at one point actually get this
00:31:34.660 there were children right with us right with us not because nobody was forcing them to they were
00:31:43.500 standing there with their mother watching these grown men looking
00:31:47.380 bewildered like. Like, I'm going to tell you.
00:31:51.620 I mean, I know. Yeah, they're children. But still, it was
00:31:55.480 like they could understand it, too. Like, why? Why?
00:31:59.660 Why? We just finished walking the street with barbecues,
00:32:03.440 cookouts, and hockey games. What do you, why?
00:32:07.640 And I know you told me that the media, and I caught this as well, too.
00:32:11.200 i caught this ottawa police actually ottawa police put out a tweet today saying that they're still
00:32:15.920 okay with taking children because they think the truckers and the convoy are using children as like
00:32:20.640 shields that is the most disgusting thing you can throw into this i don't care everything that
00:32:27.780 happened to adults today or whatever is one thing but that that oh i hope they don't actually make 0.98
00:32:36.100 that more than a tweet that is really really sad and extraordinarily un-canadian and ridiculous 0.76
00:32:44.580 and pathetic and um i i i hope i hope the people who put out that kind of idea are eventually found 0.95
00:32:52.200 out for being so horribly misled and wrong that is a disgusting thing to say let me ask you this 0.94
00:32:58.220 this operation is probably going to continue for a few more days because there's still a lot of
00:33:03.260 protesters down there yeah do you think that any of these cops are going to say i'm sorry man but
00:33:09.440 i can't go back and do this again tomorrow i mean this has got to be emotionally taxing not just on
00:33:14.120 the protesters but on them too and i'm not trying to throw out sympathy vibes to them believe me
00:33:19.480 because they did what they did today and it looks horrible not just to canadians but all around the
00:33:24.380 world that's right but are their numbers going to be thinner tomorrow based upon that do you
00:33:28.860 think some of these guys will be saying forget it then i can't do this the best i can say of course
00:33:36.300 is everybody out here is very very focused on trying to put forth a kind of energy that maybe
00:33:43.440 could maybe could provide that opening uh you know there is only compassion funny enough even still 0.91
00:33:52.420 Even right now, for those men and women who are performing that act right now, we're not going to be the first to just go throw them under the bus and say, to hell with you, even though it would be very easy to do so.
00:34:13.940 But there needs to be, again, as this continued movement has proven, the steadfast patience and just outright positivity that moves through the crowd in ways I've never imagined before seems to understand that.
00:34:39.300 i think the most interesting thing that it understands is that this as bad as it is
00:34:46.220 is kind of par for the course kind of an inevitability you're you're you're challenging
00:34:53.400 your entire establishment right you're challenging your government you know which has already been
00:34:59.220 known for wanting to grab as much you know machinery if i can use the term loosely you
00:35:05.420 know to to do what it wants to do right hey i want i'm gonna freeze your bank account i spoke
00:35:11.400 with sean zimmer about an hour ago as well too i should have interviewed him but yeah
00:35:15.080 he does enough interviews but yeah he's doing he's doing really good as well too he's still
00:35:21.200 out here tonight just met with him he's doing fine um and uh you know all those different
00:35:26.900 situations you know what they've what they've used the media for what they've used all kinds
00:35:31.120 other different institutes for um you know to create a authoritarian system uh that is so
00:35:39.500 easily seen out here as being funny enough one of the number one reasons to continue to stay calm
00:35:47.260 and and move forward and understand that because of the push that's coming
00:35:51.580 from that other side that yes okay what happened today is is sorry
00:35:58.520 did you get you guys all get to hear the uh hockey night in canada theme song right there
00:36:08.120 i only have that as my ringtone because i like don cherry okay okay he hasn't been on the
00:36:15.680 broadcast in a couple years that's not that's not yeah yeah that's not the sports net version
00:36:19.640 though screw that so do you think this is going to continue todd is the protest going to continue
00:36:26.500 even with the cops now making this major push are more people going to arrive in ottawa now
00:36:31.680 i get the feeling there are i think there's a lot of people who have been demoralized by all
00:36:36.060 the video they've seen today but i think there's going to be other people who are probably energized
00:36:41.120 and want to turn up truck or no truck uh in ottawa as early as well the person who was just
00:36:47.300 calling me right there sean how was on his way here right now actually if i go ahead and go
00:36:50.500 put his name out live on air because that's who was just calling me yeah yeah that's right that's
00:36:55.900 Yeah, he's coming here right now, and he's doing a very good job of letting me know how far he is.
00:37:02.920 Anyhow, we've been predicting this as well, too, and we will have eyes on this.
00:37:08.460 I mean, there's blockades all across this place right now to get into downtown.
00:37:12.920 I have to dance around like a ballerina, practically. 0.92
00:37:15.460 It's ridiculous.
00:37:16.580 I mean, there's first off finding the right exits off of the main highways that go to and through Ottawa. 0.65
00:37:22.740 And then they have all that blocked off.
00:37:25.160 you can't get anywhere near here and then you get you have to get dropped off like 15 freaking
00:37:29.800 blocks away from anywhere and then you got to squirm your way through police just hoping that
00:37:34.060 they don't arrest you because they might recognize you as a journalist as well too which has already
00:37:37.260 happened as well too especially if they know you as an independent journalist so uh so there's
00:37:43.080 there's problems uh so it's it's been fun though i mean i'm i'm no stranger to kind of snaking
00:37:48.540 around through a police barricade just to go get some footage so it's it's that's okay i got no
00:37:54.340 problem with that um but yeah i mean the people that are coming in from out of province right now
00:38:00.220 might have themselves an interesting debacle whether they have a hotel room booked or not
00:38:04.740 uh but i can't wait to go uh like listen to that start to happen as we move into
00:38:09.540 of course the weekend well we're pretty much the weekend right now and so i know a lot of those
00:38:14.920 folks coming in from western canada um i can't really speak for eastern canada but i can certainly
00:38:19.680 speak for western canada that yeah i know i know who's coming and i you know and that they want to
00:38:24.240 be right here with us as well too i'd imagine they'll be able to uh they might have problems
00:38:28.760 with certain bits of travel they might have problems with certain things coming into the
00:38:32.540 city they might have problems with the hotel oh well then i i have ways i can assist them i gotta
00:38:37.420 i gotta i got a few things that i've learned while being out here for a month as well too
00:38:40.760 but i'm not gonna say them live on air there's a hundred barricades set up around the city to
00:38:44.820 prevent traffic from coming in now let me ask you this one last question before we let you go here
00:38:48.920 are there uh are there people that you've bumped into downtown who have no idea what's going on
00:38:55.460 they go what the hell i'm just in town for a my niece's birthday party no no no no no this i mean
00:39:02.860 going on for a month like it has you know being worldwide news um this this area is very much uh
00:39:10.480 i mean it's the the biggest backyard barbecue you've ever seen it just continues to be so
00:39:17.740 it's really sad you know one of the saddest stories before today and of course today was
00:39:22.580 tragic in a million different ways and i but again though i don't want to focus on that too much yes
00:39:28.060 are they going to make a push maybe even later tonight yes maybe will i have to go live later
00:39:32.400 tonight and go film some of that sure uh what could it get bad again tomorrow in some sort of
00:39:36.780 weird way absolutely um but i don't want to harp on that too too much again there's a certain
00:39:42.760 inevitability to that i need people to also know that that is a bit of a win right you're calling
00:39:47.700 out evil you're telling an entire establishment that you know will do its best to maintain its
00:39:53.320 control that we're kicking you know not only kicking you out but we don't like you we know
00:39:58.380 we're we don't we're not living under your dictates anymore well yeah well this is what
00:40:03.000 you get sometimes it does it does often work this way it is historical in nature so there's
00:40:08.060 an understanding that kind of needs to be had here but that's a positive thing when you can
00:40:11.800 understand it kind of as it's happening and not get too carried away in you know flying off the
00:40:17.240 handle or going you know you're throwing us all in the gulag so we have to go take up arms against
00:40:22.100 you well that's not what's happening here because of course it's way better understood that what's
00:40:26.220 already made this work so so well so far has been the exact opposite of that um and i just i again
00:40:34.180 i again want everybody to know that as well too today was bad what you saw was bad but it is
00:40:41.360 in a lot of ways to be expected that's good you're calling them out now again the rest of the world
00:40:48.680 gets to see what this regime in this country is is is wanting to do uh and that's uh that's
00:40:56.720 actually a good thing and i would take that to the bank before just casting it into the fire as
00:41:01.440 you know you know evil evil evil yes it is but it has it has its wins inside of that as well too
00:41:07.080 but anyway one of the worst things that i saw more recently just before this from today was
00:41:13.060 the fact that the police actually took all the hockey sticks and everything from away from the
00:41:16.820 beloved unity cup here on a wellington is there there is current they're back do you want to come
00:41:28.820 with me why not let's go have a look this is going to be bad okay let's go all right okay
00:41:35.420 The cops are back doing a big push. Todd's heading out to check it out.
00:41:41.600 You'll have to give me a second. I'm going to take myself off camera for just a moment.
00:41:45.000 So I got to put my backpack and pick up my tripod again.
00:41:48.080 But give me give me give me two and a half minutes and I will carry you guys down the street.
00:41:52.800 And well, again, I know I just said be positive and now I just received that news.
00:41:58.580 But that doesn't mean freak out just yet. Again, this is this is inevitable.
00:42:02.360 this is what happens you push back they get angry it's a part of the process but hold on i'll take
00:42:08.480 you guys with me okay all right so um it looks like the cops just went for dinner and maybe a
00:42:16.760 half hour break after that they're coming back for another push we have no idea what it's going
00:42:21.440 to look like out there it's night time so we probably won't be able to get very good resolution
00:42:25.300 but hopefully we don't see something too traumatic there's you know what guys right
00:42:31.020 now would be a good time to uh share the show we weren't expecting anything like this right now
00:42:36.640 uh the reason that i had taught on today was simply to summarize the day and
00:42:41.620 uh try and tie everything that you saw uh via video today from all of these different sources
00:42:48.100 together and he did a great job of that so i want to thank him for coming on and you know being such
00:42:54.720 a regular contributor to the show in the past few weeks as i couldn't get out to ottawa
00:42:58.500 but i am considering going as early as next week because i don't think this is over yet
00:43:07.580 even if the cops are pushing i don't think this is over yet i think that
00:43:12.540 something else is brewing behind the scenes tamara leak was arrested yesterday in ottawa
00:43:20.680 during the show as a matter of fact i i recall last night just getting off the air and seeing
00:43:26.220 about 20 different texts from people as i'm getting right now that tamara had been arrested
00:43:32.220 there was video of it and you know what she yelled she was with uh with a couple of the other 1.00
00:43:39.740 organizers and they yelled hold the line and she yelled hold the line right back at them and she
00:43:46.220 sounded so pleasant and upbeat we have video she made a video today a brief one when she was
00:43:52.520 released this morning so we're going to play that for you in just a little bit and why not i mean
00:44:00.260 while i'm here i'll take a commercial break and say the show was brought to you by tacit

00:44:59.680 what's happening out there okay well i'm not exactly sure i'm gonna head down to the area
00:45:06.980 where i know things are usually taking place now again i'm taking it seriously right now because
00:45:12.820 the last few times that somebody yelled that something is happening they knew what they were
00:45:15.500 talking about but uh before today that had happened and it was uh you know a little bit
00:45:22.160 too much paranoia uh but now that's because of course what's happened today i i kind of i want
00:45:28.040 to take every claim to be somewhat serious knowing that they will probably restage again right up here
00:45:32.780 to where i'm heading so i'm heading there right now but there's crowd all around me and they're
00:45:37.900 I'm not really paranoid.
00:45:44.320 Nobody's really scared about anything just right now.
00:45:46.660 So I'm not exactly sure what was just yelled at me.
00:45:51.360 But nonetheless, I don't want to sit back and try to miss anything right now.
00:46:02.620 All right.
00:46:03.240 so the police line
00:46:05.500 for the last while has been up here
00:46:09.160 and of course that's
00:46:11.300 exactly where we're going to go
00:46:12.700 I also want to add
00:46:19.840 is this really exciting
00:46:21.640 every single time that
00:46:23.540 it happens you must just get your blood pumping
00:46:25.720 well
00:46:27.960 you know
00:46:29.560 for me it's
00:46:30.740 It's a very interesting kind of situation because I've been kind of involved in this fight, you know, for, you know, kind of right since it got started.
00:46:42.940 You know, I've been through enough of my own awkward situations to do with understanding Canadians' desire to stand up against, you know, COVID-19 restrictions and mandates.
00:46:56.740 And so, oh, yeah, yeah, there is something happening up here.
00:47:00.100 okay yeah we're gonna have something to show you guys for sure and a large crowd is starting to
00:47:03.700 get together yep okay uh so you know it's uh it's kind of difficult for me in some ways i i'm torn
00:47:14.420 between way too many things uh one is somebody who understands all the reasons every one of the
00:47:20.340 reasons the pure good-hearted reasons for why all these people have been out here for this long
00:47:24.020 but uh then there's the you know kind of very strong desire to want to go present things to
00:47:31.900 the world and go you know try to be i guess a citizen journalist and uh and show people stuff
00:47:39.420 uh but uh you know it's hard i have to separate kind of like the the personal from some of what's
00:47:45.940 just uh trying to do a service i guess to some extent like all the time it can be it can be
00:47:53.840 pretty difficult like today i was literally for like an hour an hour i was i was completely on
00:48:00.900 the line completely on the fence uh from going should i make sure to film this because i was
00:48:07.320 one of the first on scene or should i shut my camera off and do what i almost i don't want to
00:48:13.680 say feel like a little bit more but you know there's there's that instinct that comes in that
00:48:17.920 goes like just shut your camera off and you know you hold the line and you get arrested
00:48:22.200 i could have i could have went that direction too i i i still feel that kind of tug of war it's it's
00:48:30.400 tough um i'm getting a report that the woman who was run down by the horse today is in critical
00:48:37.640 condition in hospital have you heard anything about that no no i haven't had the time to go
00:48:44.180 research some of those little extra little tidbits since they've been happening today
00:48:47.200 um i've still been all over the map uh and yeah yeah yeah this this is the police line again
00:48:56.100 as predicted
00:48:58.280 so
00:49:01.360 i don't know how
00:49:05.740 how interesting this one's gonna get you have a lot of different protesters now showing up to
00:49:13.420 this line here right i'll show you this is right here this is uh chateau uh uh chateau laurier
00:49:25.820 chateau laurier this is where they've been staging out over for the last uh few days
00:49:30.080 in preparation for for today i might add which i predicted correctly 48 hours ago
00:49:35.740 glad i got that one right what's the temperature there it looks cold but uh oh it's gonna get
00:49:41.680 fun down here.
00:49:47.420 Oh, another one coming up, looks like.
00:49:56.260 They're not taking up
00:49:57.660 guard right in front.
00:50:02.740 They barricaded
00:50:03.720 the hotel. They take
00:50:05.460 guard right in front of the hotel. That was not there
00:50:07.520 before.
00:50:09.760 I'm going to push to the front of the lines.
00:50:11.680 i want you guys to have a good look at this crowd
00:50:19.020 this is regular everyday people just like us who want their freedoms back who want our freedoms
00:50:28.040 back what's that i was just talking everybody who's watching right now i mean like it's a
00:50:33.100 great crowd shot you just gave us and it's just people the barricades have went up uh the police
00:50:39.100 to come back out in full force.
00:50:41.100 They are now starting to line up again
00:50:43.140 in massive form right back here.
00:50:45.580 Right back here, right in front of me.
00:50:47.560 There are now lots of them.
00:50:49.720 Plenty, plenty, plenty, plenty.
00:50:53.780 Look at the crowd.
00:51:09.100 that's great you feeling proud yet canada don't be afraid you manitobans out there if you're not
00:51:22.700 at your legislative building come on come on you need to stand in solidarity what's
00:51:27.120 happening right here and the world is watching this right now
00:51:31.600 What?
00:51:41.400 Wow.
00:51:55.120 Wow.
00:52:01.600 those cops don't look they don't look happy to be there at all they do not look happy to be there
00:52:15.500 not one no no of course they don't no of course they don't actually right now right now this looks
00:52:22.580 a lot better because here's what happened before right this is interesting there's going to be a
00:52:26.780 very quick change a very quick shift in a bit of a power struggle here because earlier today
00:52:32.440 in that video that i shot that you know kind of lit fire under everybody it was because they had
00:52:37.880 kenneled us in before the crowd could leave away from main stage and come down willing to take part
00:52:43.780 right like after i had been filming that for about 15 20 odd minutes people were coming down saying
00:52:49.720 we came here because we saw your live feed and then it got cut off shortly after that not saying
00:52:54.260 just because of my live feed but because clearly it was it was being recognized right right and so
00:52:58.720 they cut it off but right now that can't be done anymore because now the whole world's aware and so
00:53:04.580 it doesn't look like that no more
00:53:06.300 now their police line is now looking thinner than ours which is very different than about seven to
00:53:18.320 hours ago so the change has occurred they kettled one area they took it over that was the big story
00:53:24.820 of today but if you think that's going to be the big story maybe moving into tonight well i guess
00:53:29.040 we can prove right here and now live for everybody and i'm glad there's you know hopefully a good
00:53:32.840 audience watching uh that well again again another wonderful moment for in the last month well free
00:53:40.480 canadians are saying uh this is awesome it's awesome
00:53:47.240 and they got them they got them on now we got them on number 10 to 1 right now
00:53:54.720 todd do you think with with such numbers on our side the cops are going to try and push forward
00:53:59.700 or are they just going to pack it in for the night uh the only thing that's going to turn this
00:54:05.840 tie, the same as it's going to do so every
00:54:07.820 single time, is if they bring out
00:54:09.800 hard tactical units in riot gear.
00:54:12.680 If they want to go
00:54:13.680 push, if they want to go
00:54:15.700 throw tear canisters into the crowd,
00:54:18.160 if they want to...
00:54:19.840 Put it this way.
00:54:21.440 It's very easy for them to understand
00:54:23.780 proper crowd dispersal if
00:54:25.800 they really want to go push that far.
00:54:27.920 There's only really
00:54:29.720 two things that hold them
00:54:31.780 back. That being being
00:54:33.620 extraordinarily peaceful
00:54:35.100 and not having anything to do with pushing back against them and um conscience
00:54:42.400 the other would be i guess almost kind of like understanding to some sense like you know where
00:54:48.840 you know if their demands are pretty simple and just kind of like uh you know like hey hey don't
00:54:54.760 push back on me don't push back on me well then it's obvious yeah no not a chance right so
00:54:58.280 it's it's always very very tough to say but i can guarantee you this right now this is going to be
00:55:05.880 a scene here for the next few hours here tonight and there is a good chance they will build back
00:55:13.820 their line with more riot gear and tactical police the rcmp might move back in to to push back from
00:55:20.700 behind and then once they do that they kind of take control of the situation because then it's
00:55:25.300 supposed to be understood that well the crowd didn't listen so now you know you know now you 0.96
00:55:29.700 know big daddy needs to come in and that's pathetic uh because of course so when you you 0.84
00:55:34.740 saw this i mean these are uh fleur-de-lis canadian flag waving canadians yell yelling freedom uh 0.95
00:55:42.720 while smoking cigarettes and laughing and talking to each other there's no problems whatsoever
00:55:47.840 at all no violence no aggression whatsoever nobody's touching the gates to the point where
00:55:53.700 If somebody knocked you over the gate by accident, in typical Canadian fashion,
00:55:56.860 somebody would probably pick it up and say, I'm sorry.
00:55:58.880 Right.
00:56:00.220 You want to do the first ever Shadow Davis Winnipeg Alternative Media handoff?
00:56:05.340 Because I'm going to have to wrap it up pretty soon, but you're going to keep going, obviously.
00:56:09.540 So take the stream right over to Wham.
00:56:11.660 Take the audience with you.
00:56:13.460 And you guys keep watching Todd over there at Winnipeg Alternative Media
00:56:16.500 because he's right in the thick of what could happen, what might happen in the next few minutes.
00:56:24.400 Again, everybody, please don't freak out just yet.
00:56:28.820 Again, this is inevitable.
00:56:31.860 This is the way this goes.
00:56:33.920 This is pointing out the evil.
00:56:35.480 This is bringing it out into the open.
00:56:37.480 This is the way it works.
00:56:39.060 Look, they're setting up fireworks out here now.
00:56:43.060 The crowd is, again, wonderfully enjoying, I think, that fact itself as well, too.
00:56:49.020 people are pretty happy out here to um to not go back to the way the last two years were like
00:56:55.500 still that overjoying of just having pushed past that limit and come over the hill just seems
00:57:01.220 undying it's a beautiful thing and i hope that even if you're not here in ottawa you know we
00:57:06.160 need you to feel that understand that be a part of that as well too uh that's that that is the way
00:57:12.880 that this that this works and we see the looks on the officers faces knowing that this is not
00:57:20.320 riot control in any way shape or form um i've heard of some awkward kind of policing holding
00:57:28.640 some people in at the manitoba legislative grounds get out there and support those people
00:57:33.320 get out there and support those truckers they're still holding the line as well too as they
00:57:37.980 absolutely should be i kind of thought i'd be back in manitoba early next week and oh boy i think i
00:57:45.680 might be you know going here over a month i might have to be out here a whole other week uh but uh
00:57:52.060 if that's the case then please everybody get out there and support all those wonderful people at
00:57:58.160 the manitoba legislative building because they haven't even got anything yet they haven't won
00:58:03.700 their battle they've got nowhere near uh you know and so that's the same for the rest of us as well
00:58:08.800 too we're still not allowed to travel freely in and out of our country and we have a federal
00:58:13.600 government that is literally embattling us in one of the most disgusting ways that north america has
00:58:20.420 seen in a long time and the world is watching that so if that's not a good enough reason to
00:58:25.360 go out to the manitoba legislative and support the guys out there then i don't know what is
00:58:29.720 and by the way if you do give rick wall a high five and tell him todd sent you because he's a
00:58:35.840 beauty and again thank you so much shadow for having me on yeah i'll be streaming live here
00:58:40.480 tonight obviously um you know it's it's it's it's it's kind of it's a sad tragic thing to experience
00:58:49.900 to some levels but when you see canadians not being afraid like this
00:58:56.260 and being here and showing up look look here we go again
00:59:02.640 it's like i want to jump through the screen and be there right now i'm sure you're feeling the
00:59:15.780 same thing wow tyrants always exist canadians be happy you're just calling them out continue to do
00:59:25.740 show. All right, Todd. Thank you. Go to Winnipeg Alternative Media right now. Todd's going to pick
00:59:32.300 up the stream over there. He is in the middle of a crowd and a possible police push, second police
00:59:38.720 push of the day in downtown Ottawa. Guys, I want to leave you tonight with something positive. And
00:59:47.080 you know what? After talking to Todd, mixed emotions, right? We're dealing with
00:59:53.000 great sadness and i think a lot of what the police did today in ottawa
01:00:00.100 because they knew that there were a lot of independent journalists filming what was going
01:00:06.160 on live streaming it back out to the rest of the country in the world they knew that
01:00:09.480 and they were trying to demoralize us i think that's one of the tactics demoralize don't let
01:00:16.860 them rise up again but i think
01:00:20.820 i think it's not going to work as you saw in that video there are still thousands and thousands of
01:00:32.520 people in downtown ottawa people just like us people who want their freedoms back
01:00:36.400 and they're not going to go down without a fight but they're not
01:00:40.380 going to fight if you know what i mean they're going to be peaceful about it
01:00:43.860 you guys know the name tamara leach or lick by now i've heard it pronounced both ways tamara is
01:00:52.620 one of the organizers of the freedom convoy 2022 and she is in ottawa she was arrested last night
01:01:00.840 and she made a video as she was released this morning and here's what she said hey guys
01:01:09.180 this has been a crazy ride really crazy ride and uh i think in one of my first videos i said
01:01:19.140 how proud i was of all of you so proud of you
01:01:24.600 you have come together in a way that i've never seen before
01:01:31.880 please keep that love in your heart don't give in there's been a lot of joy and a lot of
01:01:43.220 happiness and so the tears that i cry aren't tears of sadness you guys
01:01:51.840 i just want you to stay strong and i want you to continue to be unified
01:01:59.800 when you see the reporters in the streets be kind and show them love we don't have to agree with
01:02:10.960 what they're doing even though after all they've done I know I know it's frustrating
01:02:17.680 but we still have to have love in our hearts please show respect to them show respect to
01:02:26.420 our police officers. A lot of these men and women, although I know it's not an
01:02:33.540 excuse, are probably just trying to feed their families. I said it from the start
01:02:46.340 and I'll say it again, please pray for them and forgive them for they know not
01:02:50.480 what they do. At least I have to believe that. And I know there's a lot of anger at our government.
01:03:02.240 There's a lot of rightful anger at our government.
01:03:08.000 but I want you to know
01:03:13.060 that Justin Trudeau has three beautiful children
01:03:20.660 so remember that
01:03:23.920 we don't have to like what he does
01:03:27.480 but I'm going to ask you to pray for him too
01:03:38.000 So some of you guys are saying that video was made before her arrest.
01:03:43.000 I have heard and I know that this video was recorded this morning.
01:03:50.620 Maybe it looks a lot like the one that she released a couple of days ago.
01:03:58.500 In that video, she references going back to jail.
01:04:03.020 She is out on bail right now, conditions. 1.00
01:04:08.000 big heart on that lady.
01:04:15.480 She's been through the ringer more than any of us, I'm sure,
01:04:20.900 holding it together for thousands and thousands of people.
01:04:29.960 I've been through a lot of emotions today, too.
01:04:32.600 Guys, watching some of those videos that I played earlier in the show
01:04:35.480 was rough when I first saw them
01:04:38.620 because I couldn't believe that this was happening in my country.
01:04:42.800 We've seen videos like that from Australia.
01:04:45.880 We've seen videos like that from the UK and from the United States.
01:04:49.200 And we've seen isolated things like that
01:04:51.380 that have happened in Canada over the past couple of years.
01:04:55.100 But not like this.
01:04:59.920 Police, when it comes to dealing with large crowds,
01:05:03.900 They're usually professional protesters, Antifa types, people who throw things at them, spit at them.
01:05:14.200 And these people don't do that.
01:05:16.520 Sure, they'll defend themselves, but they don't know how to protest, right?
01:05:23.600 They're not professionals.
01:05:25.160 They would much rather be at work or at home doing something around the house.
01:05:30.500 They don't want to be there, but they're there because they know what's on the line right now. 0.97
01:05:37.960 So as Todd said, you know, if you are in southern Manitoba, I know the weather is not supposed to be great tomorrow and it was crap today.
01:05:47.200 But if you are in southern Manitoba and you can get to Winnipeg, join the truckers tomorrow at the ledge.
01:05:53.420 they yeah they've moved a little bit north from where they were to get off broadway a bit more
01:06:00.780 the police asked them to do that and who knows this might be the last weekend there's four things
01:06:06.880 that the trucker convoy in manitoba is asking the provincial government for
01:06:11.120 only one of them has been checked off that list you can see the big sign if you head down to the
01:06:17.560 ledge tomorrow i will be there and i hope i hope like hell that i see you down there
01:06:23.580 because it's a big deal
01:06:27.460 it's a big deal and i also don't think many people understand how intertwined federal and
01:06:37.860 and provincial politics are we saw it recently we saw it with brian pallister brian pallister
01:06:45.780 was a federal minister under Stephen Harper, and then he was a backbencher, but he was elected
01:06:50.820 federally and then decided he was going to run provincially and lead the PC party in Manitoba.
01:06:56.740 We almost had that same thing happen with Shelley Glover, who was a minister under Stephen Harper
01:07:00.620 as well. She lost the leadership to Heather Stephenson, but intertwined. Provincial politicians
01:07:06.920 know federal politicians. They talk to each other all the time. Premiers talk to the prime minister
01:07:13.280 or our other federal ministers all the time.
01:07:17.640 So what we're doing here will get to the feds.
01:07:22.580 But we have to be there and we have to stand next to the people
01:07:26.300 who have been holding the line here in Manitoba and in Ottawa.
01:07:29.660 It's important.
01:07:31.380 If you really believe it.
01:07:32.900 Guys, I'm telling you, I was going through so many things today
01:07:36.540 when I was watching those videos and I do remember thinking,
01:07:41.180 oh my God, it's over.
01:07:43.280 but it's not going to be over.
01:07:46.580 It's never going to be over.
01:07:49.080 Because if it's over and we lose,
01:07:51.580 that means that we're in a totalitarian tyranny.
01:07:58.700 Full social credit score.
01:08:00.700 And I can't accept that.
01:08:02.580 I can't accept that for my son or my grandson.
01:08:06.060 And I know you feel the same.
01:08:09.700 So here's some good news.
01:08:10.900 American truckers organizing convoy to D.C. to meet with lawmakers on March 6th.
01:08:17.960 This thing is going to start rolling from California.
01:08:22.140 And they got the inspiration from you-know-who.
01:08:26.080 This thing is going to start rolling from California, and it's not going to stop until they get to Washington, D.C.
01:08:30.840 Now imagine how big this American convoy is going to be.
01:08:34.680 And they're protesting the same thing that the truckers were protesting up here. 1.00
01:08:38.740 And that is, hey, man, we don't want to have to take your stupid jabs to go across the border. 0.99
01:08:45.820 So if we had 15 or 20,000 trucks, it's America. 1.00
01:08:51.800 It's 10 times bigger.
01:08:53.200 Can you imagine 100, 200,000 trucks rolling into Washington, D.C.?
01:08:57.560 The cops trying to stop them.
01:08:58.720 They'll have to pull out the National Guard for sure.
01:09:03.940 But they're certainly going to make an impact.
01:09:06.020 i want to thank todd mcdougall from winnipeg alternative media for appearing on the show
