00:08:49.100 year. Affected workers were forced on unpaid leave, terminated or dismissed due to their

00:08:54.320 personal decision to not get vaccinated. Employees were tasked with interpreting the government's

00:08:59.500 guidance, becoming the sole decision makers of whether vaccination exemptions for individual

00:09:04.820 workers would be granted. The government announced that workers failing to become vaccinated without

00:09:10.100 an exemption would not be eligible for EI. Employers were advised to report suspended,

00:09:15.420 terminated, or dismissed workers for refusing to comply with a vaccine mandate by coding ROEs

00:09:22.140 with new codes designed to inform Service Canada of non-compliant workers, E for quit, N for LOA,

00:09:29.940 and M for dismissed. Workers were obligated to pay into the EI program and were unjustly denied

00:09:37.280 access when most needed, and the government's actions were meant to be coercive by opposing

00:09:42.980 financial hardships as consequences of remaining unvaccinated. We, the undersigned citizens and

00:09:49.780 residents of canada call upon the government of canada to one remove new roe codes that identify
