00:03:29.380 While I was able to respond to many people at the time, finite resources and juggling priorities in a fast-moving parliament made it difficult to respond to everyone.

00:03:37.040 in as timely a way as I would have preferred. In order to avoid any further delay, I'm writing a

00:03:42.740 single letter that responds to several of the predominant concerns and nuances that emerged

00:03:46.960 from the correspondence on this issue. Form letter. The last two years have been hard on

00:03:54.600 all of us as individuals and in recent months. The ongoing debates around public health measures

00:04:00.020 have put us in a difficult place as a country. These debates came to a head when the convoy

00:04:05.100 movement undertook an illegal occupation of the national capital and several border crossings.

00:04:12.880 Not illegal. Not illegal. Matter of fact, they were planned and coordinated with the help of

00:04:19.440 local police in every situation. All right. That even the border crossings. But let me continue.

00:04:27.220 I recognize the convoy movement represented different things to different people.

00:04:31.140 It enjoyed support from Canadians simply fed up with mask wearing and other public health restrictions.

00:04:37.440 For others, it was specifically about scrapping vaccine mandates.

00:04:40.900 For yet others, the convoy represented an opportunity to publicly flaunt messages of hate.

00:04:52.380 significantly on their website and in public news conferences organizers of the convoy called for

00:04:59.600 the overthrow of canada's recently elected government again i i don't i don't recall ever

00:05:08.020 seeing that i mean there could have been a couple of wing nuts who were interviewed and then it was

00:05:13.120 put on the left-wing corporate media but those could have been plants but they certainly weren't

00:05:19.140 directly involved with the actual convoy movement and they were denounced immediately if there were

00:05:27.260 such things and they were found to be plants as well from the government or possibly ceases

00:05:33.520 i guess we'll never know about that anyway blakey goes on to say i know people who supported the

00:05:40.120 convoy for some of these reasons do not necessarily support all of the things the convoy represented

00:05:45.840 Disagreement about public health measures is perfectly acceptable in a free and democratic society,

00:05:50.040 but these conversations must not happen under threat of intimidation and violence.

00:05:59.460 There are many examples of peaceful protest in Canadian history,

00:06:02.840 including our recent history, for people to model their political action on.

00:06:07.940 This convoy, sorry, the convoy occupations, once again, that's the third time he's used that word.

00:07:25.020 That's why you Democrats have insisted that the state of emergency end as quickly as possible.

00:07:29.460 In the end, these powers were only in effect for 10 days, far less than the 30-day period provided for in the Act.

00:23:30.160 Items on the 2019 agenda included a stable strategic order, what's next for Europe, climate change, China, Russia, Brexit, the future of capitalism, the ethics of artificial intelligence, the weaponization of social media, the importance of space and cyber threats.

00:23:51.800 And that's just about all the public information that's known about this meeting.

00:23:55.320 And of course, the lack of information has led to plenty of rumors and speculations about the group.

00:24:03.560 Due to the secretive nature of the group, conspiracy theories have always been associated with Bilderberg since its founding.
