00:01:30.000 hello everybody welcome to shadow at night this is wednesday february the 21st 2024
00:01:51.040 tonight on the show chris dacy i don't really know how to introduce chris except to say
00:01:57.060 that he has been reporting to us from Parliament Hill for the past couple of years,
00:02:02.040 I guess ever since the Freedom Convoy happened, and he just never stopped.
00:02:06.840 He's been part of what they call, I think, the Parliament Hill regulars.
00:02:10.540 I'm sure he's got the exact phrase for it.
00:02:13.320 And he's seen a lot of things, a lot of things that have happened in the past couple of years
00:02:18.060 that we may not know about.
00:02:19.820 And he's been involved with different freedom groups around Ontario and around Quebec
00:02:23.760 and around the country.
00:02:25.820 So I'm very excited to get to know Chris tonight.
00:02:28.480 I'm very excited to hear what he thinks is going to happen next, what's happening now.
00:02:33.580 And just to bring another freedom fighter on the show always excites me.
00:02:37.920 So hang on for Chris Dacey in just one moment.
00:02:41.660 The show is brought to you by Canada Nano Silver.

00:07:08.980 All right, I want to click through here to get to this video.
00:07:12.760 This is a video taken by our friend Chris Dacey of Dacey Media from a couple of years ago.
00:07:19.360 And it's captioned simply this.
00:07:21.200 This is from the streets of Ottawa when the cops started lining up against the Freedom Convoy.
00:07:25.480 We didn't line up against you.
00:07:28.000 You lined up against us.
00:07:30.380 Let's watch this.
00:07:34.020 Don't you dare advance on the heavily armed column of police officers, sir.
00:07:38.140 don't you dare we we didn't line up against you nobody lined up against you you lined up against
00:07:46.640 us you lined up against us we love you guys nobody here has a problem with you guys
00:07:53.760 we love you we forgive you all i hope you can forgive except the one who stopped the veteran
00:07:59.880 that person's got to got some answering to do appeal regional officer if you see him
00:08:04.960 bad orders for bad people and whoever stopped the lady with the walker with the horse that one should 0.99
00:08:10.560 probably get a talking to as well and whoever gave the order to send heavy horse on the people 1.00
00:08:15.280 those people should be talking i would say yeah yeah well a lady with a lady with a walker i 1.00
00:08:22.240 believe she was an indigenous woman just for good measure for all you leftist idealon types
00:08:27.280 they stopped her she got run over by a horse a column of armed officers wasn't enough the riot
00:08:34.560 police in from certainty Quebec wasn't enough RCMP help police OPP Peel region
00:08:39.360 Durham all here that wasn't enough you had to send in horses and tranquil a
00:08:43.980 woman and now they come in line up block after block to corral us away from what
00:08:48.480 we want our government to come back and we want a return and some semblance of
00:08:53.100 normality in our country a return of our charter rights and our freedoms and we
00:08:57.740 can all go on a damn way we all have families I have a mother in the hospital 0.86
00:09:02.880 I'm not a vaccine pass. I can't see her. Is that okay with anyone here? 0.98
00:09:08.280 It's not okay with me. I'm not out here to get angry and yell. I hate all that. It sucks.
00:09:13.260 I smile all the time. It sucks. And like, if one of you guys gets out of line, it's up to, you know, 1.00
00:09:23.400 the good guys will stop it. Right? Like, that's what we need you guys for. If one, you know,
00:09:27.680 it's just like if one of us idiots gets out of line, we'll stop them. We need the same thing 1.00
00:09:31.680 from you guys we need to be we're on the same side all of us you didn't guys didn't get like
00:09:37.840 nobody gets into policing to beat the populace you get in to serve right like everybody else
00:09:42.340 but let's not ruin it let's not ruin it
00:09:49.700 just because we got a tyrannical leader doesn't mean that everybody under his boot
00:09:57.460 It's going to do what he says.
00:09:59.860 His time is over.
00:10:01.260 This is already what he played his hand.
00:10:03.260 He played it a little too hard.
00:10:08.260 We're practicing constitutional freedoms by being here.
00:10:12.080 Freedom to associate.
00:10:17.000 We paid for this city.
00:10:18.760 Yeah, like our grandparents.
00:10:20.200 My father was a sergeant.
00:10:21.540 He stormed the beaches of Normandy in the first wave.
00:10:24.080 He's a hero.
00:10:24.900 and i was blessed to spend the day at the war memorial yesterday with the vets like
00:10:29.140 just to find out that you stormed it today and took it from them 0.99
00:10:32.820 and fuck sakes guys smarten up smarten the hell up everyone 0.98
00:10:39.180 i'm firing you you know uh chris nacy of daisy media put that video up took that video from 0.98
00:10:51.700 the freedom convoy a couple of years ago here he is now chris welcome to the show and thank you for
00:10:56.480 coming on tonight can you give us a little bit more context as to exactly when that happened
00:11:02.660 was that after or before the emergencies act was declared yeah so um that was that was well after
00:11:09.000 it was declared so it would have been the uh the second day second night of police action so um the
00:11:14.280 first day they moved up uh not quite as far as the war memorial and the second day is the first day
00:11:19.540 was nasty but the second day is when they uh they pushed up down wellington um you'd see the video
00:11:24.740 of you know gas going off and people being dragged out of trucks um this was later in the night so
00:11:30.440 they pushed everyone down off wellington um this was on bank street in ottawa so they rounded the
00:11:35.020 corner and set up fences had an armored deal and this is a few blocks away from that so they had
00:11:40.660 pushed almost everyone out at this point um i was actually on my way home finally like i'd had
00:11:45.420 enough um and at the time i lived right downtown off bank street so i was maybe two or three blocks
00:11:50.260 from from where i was living and every block i went to down bank i couldn't go anywhere i was
00:11:55.900 met with lines of police at every block and uh you know there was a guy talking i just i just had
00:12:01.480 to go in and kind of say my piece before i went home i guess interesting to hear that now um and
00:12:06.520 think about think about how things have gone it's uh kind of went into a trance there i don't know
00:12:10.960 what i was saying but it came across okay i guess you know it's interesting i was just about to ask
00:12:16.380 you because i know you've done a lot of video and you've done a lot of different events since then
00:12:22.920 i mean that's two years ago you know like two years of our lives have gone by since the freedom
00:12:27.800 convoy since all that turmoil and i just watching that video now felt anxiety how did you feel
00:12:35.540 just watching that again um i'm i'm a lot better with it now than i was i mean when i get too into
00:12:42.560 this stuff i mean there there is still a little bit of anxiety there um a lot of it has dissipated
00:12:47.800 over time like it was brutal at first i couldn't even be around police at all without being you
00:12:51.940 know like like triggered is you know word that gets thrown around but i mean like triggered
00:12:55.600 full of like shaking um emotion it was really hard at first um i think the cure for that honestly
00:13:02.360 It's just been the fact I stayed in Ottawa on exposure therapy.
00:13:05.340 It didn't get easier overnight.
00:13:07.080 It took a lot of time.
00:13:08.860 You know, it's only in the last maybe year or so that I've really been able to kind of separate individuals from police as a whole.
00:13:16.180 And, you know, working with police here in Ottawa a little bit and building relationships, I've been able to rehumanize police.
00:13:22.040 And that's helped quite a bit.
00:13:23.360 But, I mean, it's still not easy to watch that.
00:13:26.100 It doesn't only bring back those memories.
00:13:27.900 You know, I was there the two days, like, basically in and out of the front that was pushing at us.
00:13:33.740 So, you know, I saw quite a few things.
00:13:36.040 And like you say, it's been two years.
00:13:38.260 In some ways, it feels like way longer.
00:13:41.320 In other ways, it's just like, you know, snaps by.
00:13:44.640 And I think maybe because I stayed, like, really into this for a while, quite a while, finding a bit of balance now.
00:13:51.300 But for a long time, I was still living it.
00:13:53.520 So it doesn't give you the time maybe that you would otherwise have to process this kind of thing.
00:13:57.900 um you mentioned that you had built some relationships with police officers over the
00:14:04.100 past couple of years uh are they personal relationships were you able to ask questions
00:14:08.880 were they on the lines yeah how do they feel these guys i mean like were they were they
00:14:14.420 embarrassed and ashamed to be there or did they say they're just doing their job or
00:14:18.260 did they want to pass some heads at the time like like at that time i mean i found that i could tell
00:14:24.680 There was a few ways you could tell, but by the eyes,
00:14:26.840 but also by the way they held their batons.
00:14:28.900 Like, there was a few types of police officers there.
00:14:31.240 There were people who just, with a blank stare off into the distance,
00:14:33.840 like, kind of just steady-handed and staring off,
00:14:36.120 like it wouldn't make eye contact.
00:14:37.660 They looked uncomfortable.
00:14:39.200 There were people that were literally shaking.
00:14:41.680 And then there was the people who were, like, tapping their baton,
00:14:44.120 and you could tell that they were just itching to beat someone, you know.
00:14:46.420 So there was probably all three types there at the time.
00:14:49.700 And I think probably that still exists to some degree in policing.
00:14:52.880 um i wouldn't say i made like friends like we hang out you know it's not like i'm going to hang out
00:14:59.480 with with the police you know active active police uh in my spare time but uh you know i've gotten to
00:15:05.180 know to know many of the police officers downtown um i've gotten to know the the uh the plt's the
00:15:11.100 liaison team some of their officers quite well and uh and we've worked together um on quite a few
00:15:16.160 things or at least tried to you know i tried to you know i'm trying to work in good faith with
00:15:20.740 these people and do things the right way if i can and i think actually the way things went over the
00:15:25.120 weekend um was an example of the work and progress we've made in that regard probably you know i want
00:15:30.960 to talk to you about this past weekend excuse me because i saw your press conference and i you know
00:15:35.460 i saw you were in the daisy media t-shirt and i was hoping hey man put a jacket on like derrick did
00:15:39.660 like derrick had a jacket on he had his you know he had his headband on still but um you guys i
00:15:46.800 thought both of you did a fantastic job with the corporate media there and what was that experience
00:15:53.040 like because you've been working yourself in alternative media and citizen media for the
00:15:57.720 past couple of years getting videos of very important videos to people that otherwise we
00:16:02.480 would never see uh but these people they're a different breed aren't they yeah it was um i mean
00:16:09.660 confession to make um i i didn't i knew i would be like attending and possibly standing or i didn't
00:16:15.980 know to what degree I would be participating really until very shortly beforehand um I think
00:16:21.020 for me that was kind of a good thing it's better not to overthink these things I may not have
00:16:24.240 may not have done it otherwise but uh it was uh it was one heck of an experience like
00:16:29.580 I don't know if you're aware but like a few weeks ago I was I was removed and banned from the house
00:16:34.860 of commons um without any reason really being given um I was going into question period and
00:16:40.300 went through security made it all the way you know through security check into the basement
00:16:44.100 and bought something at the little store there.
00:16:46.300 I went through code checks.
00:16:47.620 So you check your jackets, your hats, and everything.
00:16:49.980 And as soon as I did that,
00:16:52.380 and I was heading up to basically head up into the gallery,
00:16:54.840 I was stopped by two PPS agents,
00:16:57.240 or whatever you call it, PPS officers,
00:16:59.420 and told that I was banned,
00:17:01.540 and they would be removing me.
00:17:03.540 And I inquired, like, who banned me?
00:17:06.460 For what reason?
00:17:07.920 They couldn't really tell me anything.
00:17:09.180 They said it comes from the Sergeant-at-Arms,
00:17:11.740 and to contact your Member of Parliament
00:17:13.280 if you want to know more, which I did.
00:17:16.260 Actually, my member of parliament is Mona Fortier,
00:17:18.760 a liberal in Vanier.
00:17:20.240 So I did contact her, my lawyer did,
00:17:22.920 and they responded, but we haven't gotten anything back yet
00:17:26.280 as far as a reason for how long,
00:17:28.880 if anything can be done about it.
00:17:31.140 So that was kind of, you know,
00:17:32.660 and it was quite fresh in my mind
00:17:34.040 that I was not allowed in that house.
00:17:36.660 So going in, you know, two weeks later,
00:17:39.220 going through the same security, same place,
00:17:41.400 like some of the people that,
00:17:42.340 one of the guys that was there when I was being
00:17:44.380 escorted out was there, right? And this time I'm being
00:17:46.360 escorted into this press room
00:17:47.680 was quite the wild experience.
00:17:50.760 Did they know that you were banned?
00:17:52.900 Wait a minute, you're banned, you can't
00:17:54.460 come in here. Yeah, so like, I mean,
00:17:56.400 right away, people are unrecognizable
00:17:58.320 to most of these people, I guess, at this point.
00:18:01.140 Like, definitely to the RCMP
00:18:02.560 and to PPS, probably, particularly
00:18:04.480 true to detail, those guys know who I am.
00:18:07.720 But I, no,
00:18:08.700 I went in and I wasn't really sure
00:18:10.540 how it was going to go.
00:18:12.340 It was kind of last minute and rushed a little bit.
00:18:14.700 So, like, I was going in with my rocket equipment and I was wearing what I would normally be wearing, like, if I'm out, you know, it's mine, standing in the street.
00:18:21.940 So, luckily, I had my DC media shirt on under my sweater.
00:18:24.620 That was just gratuitous.
00:18:26.140 But, you know, I went through the security.
00:18:27.920 And once I saw that it was Lynn Brooks and Derek Noonan had gone through and they had their badges and there was a PPS agent there.
00:18:33.960 And he was trying to look to me like he was trying to hold in a smile.
00:18:36.720 And he was holding the badge for me.
00:18:38.620 I was like, okay, it's got to get through this x-ray and pat down and the whole bit, and then I'll be good to go.
00:18:45.720 So, yeah, he gave me my badge, and they fall through the bowels of the building and up into this little green room.
00:18:51.300 And I didn't even really know what the room was going to look like or anything.
00:18:54.040 I couldn't believe it when I walked in there, honestly.
00:18:57.640 Who else was supposed to be there that day?
00:18:59.720 Because there was bad weather, right?
00:19:01.120 Some people couldn't show.
00:19:02.260 There was terrible weather.
00:19:04.480 A lot of people would have been coming down from Toronto.
00:19:06.620 I don't know the list.
00:19:08.160 There was, I think, a list of seven people total that Derek had put on, me being one of them.
00:19:13.180 And they were various people from the, I guess you would call it the leaders of organizations
00:19:18.520 or leaders in the freedom movement that Derek knows and trusts.
00:19:23.440 But I don't think he gave any names, so I'm not going to speculate or try to give out the names here, maybe.
00:19:29.880 Okay, I have to make a confession here.
00:19:32.280 When I saw you guys come up to the podium, because I was watching this thing.
00:19:36.320 i went whoa there's there's stacy on a press cover i couldn't even believe it but i didn't
00:19:42.380 know who this other guy was and so i had to go look up derrick noonan okay who is he i how and
00:19:47.640 how come i don't know who he is after all this time yeah so i i've known derrick for quite a
00:19:53.720 while um he isn't you know he's not a flashy kind of out there looking for the kind of guy you know
00:19:59.520 he does a lot of a lot of work and does it well um he's i'm pretty sure he's a canadian forces
00:20:04.580 veteran um he's part of a group that that i i go by pirate patrol um so they go to uh when trudeau's
00:20:12.500 down in southern ontario or there's some type of uh you know speaking engagement any anything like
00:20:17.620 that he'll go with with his group of people and they show up these things and they make sure they
00:20:21.860 have great big signs and he's on a megaphone and uh he's been doing that with a group for quite
00:20:27.460 some time um he does a lot of a lot of that kind of protesting he also um is quite involved and
00:20:33.540 and there's the Mississauga-Brempton rally every Saturday in southern Ontario,
00:20:38.060 and he's highly involved with that.
00:20:40.800 How many times have you actually gotten a look at Justin Trudeau?
00:20:45.940 Has he come by you guys at all, or does he sneak around trying to hide?
00:20:50.260 Yeah, sometimes he's like, I mean, like, there's a couple of videos I have
00:20:54.180 where, like, just a week or two ago, I followed him for two blocks,
00:20:57.800 like, asking him actual questions, you know.
00:20:59.800 I was just him, and basically I was like,
00:21:02.120 if you pass right by his feet, I would say
00:21:03.940 three or four feet. There was
00:21:05.860 another time when the Liberals were having their
00:21:08.020 convention here in Ottawa. Hillary
00:21:10.020 Clinton was speaking. He came up.
00:21:12.000 Normally he comes out a side door. He went out the other door.
00:21:14.020 I just happened to be walking by, and out he
00:21:15.860 walks with a detail. So I follow him for like four
00:21:17.860 blocks that day. I get pretty close
00:21:19.960 to him fairly often.
00:21:21.820 But normally it's not
00:21:23.800 close enough that you could actually ask something
00:21:25.680 and have a good shot of
00:21:27.360 the answer or wave or whatever he does.
00:21:29.800 But I've been doing this a bit, so I kind of know the signs.
00:21:33.860 If I see the detail parked a certain way,
00:21:36.440 I've got to how these guys move and when.
00:21:39.100 When you talk about the detail,
00:21:40.580 I mean, we've seen video of the motorcade that he moves around in,
00:21:46.620 and I'm not sure if it's the same in every city,
00:21:48.680 but for a guy who's trying to reduce his climate footprint,
00:21:53.440 how many vehicles, how many SUVs are with his motorcade?
00:21:58.480 Yeah, so, I mean,
00:21:59.800 In the black SUVs, it's always the same.
00:22:02.240 In Ottawa, at least, it's always the same.
00:22:03.680 So there's three vehicles.
00:22:05.420 The middle one that he gets into normally, like an armored suburban of some sort.
00:22:10.180 Then there's one in the front and back.
00:22:11.920 Then there's also a pickup truck, which I would think they're probably RCMP tactical.
00:22:17.040 They wear, like, fatigues, basically.
00:22:19.600 Then there's also normally a van full of, I don't know what, like a black van.
00:22:23.680 And there's normally, like, an ambulance slash paramedic, sometimes an armored ambulance with it.
00:22:27.020 And that's like, that's generally the smallest, but it can be bigger than that.
00:22:30.420 And often, you know, there'll be Ottawa police, you know, to help out if needed.
00:22:35.160 But it's like, I'd say minimum five or six large vehicles and then plus whatever else happens to be needed.
00:22:41.140 So how many guys are around him? Like 20, 25?
00:22:43.980 You know, and I'll tell you why I ask this, because when Harper was prime minister, you would see him at a hockey game.
00:22:51.180 Like he'd be at a Leafs game or a Senators game and he'd be sitting in the stands with the people.
00:22:55.500 and maybe you'd see one or two security guys around him.
00:22:58.260 Like, he did not generate the kind of hate that Trudeau does.
00:23:02.200 And now...
00:23:02.500 That's funny you say that.
00:23:04.420 I did actually see Harper at a hockey game a number of years ago in Ottawa.
00:23:07.920 Like, I was sitting in the same section.
00:23:09.060 I saw the company, and I looked, and he's up there behind me.
00:23:11.680 I think he was with his son.
00:23:12.780 He's just there sitting in the middle.
00:23:14.000 Like, he was in the middle of the section, just sitting there like a normal person.
00:23:18.000 I think there's probably some security somewhere, but nothing noticeable.
00:23:21.300 through to when he's walking like yeah it's probably like 20 people maybe quite a few visible
00:23:27.200 like like in suits you know they have little rcmp badges they're wearing suits like um um but i'm
00:23:33.240 sure there's there's other people that you don't see as well um if he comes out of the office yeah
00:23:38.440 like i'm 100 sure they're both people um but when he comes out of the office you know there's there's
00:23:43.340 quite a few there's all the drivers the people in the vehicles there's uh there's at least four or
00:23:48.160 I just block the sidewalk, people open the door.
00:23:50.320 Like, it's pretty tight.
00:23:52.100 But, I mean, compared to what I would imagine, it's like in most places.
00:23:57.000 It's not, you know, it's not Joe Biden.
00:23:59.080 Like, when Joe Biden came here, it was insane.
00:24:01.660 Insane.
00:24:02.220 So, it's not like that.
00:24:03.380 But it's something I've never really, I don't think this has ever been the case in Canada before.
00:24:08.100 Let me ask you, speaking of security and police officers, over the weekend, I know you guys had a good time.
00:24:14.160 I'm not sure how many people were there.
00:24:15.780 uh i was talking to a couple of people who were there they said well there's a few thousand i
00:24:20.180 think you guys had fireworks and and whatnot but always with that uh what do we call her
00:24:26.140 anti-counter protester deanna sharif and something very very good happened this past weekend can you
00:24:32.020 give us some details on that you know what before you answer before you answer i just want to tell
00:24:36.820 you guys watching this right now i didn't want to play any video of her because she's so awful
00:24:42.500 I have played video of her on the show in the past, and she's just one of the worst people that you can ever imagine. 1.00
00:24:49.540 The language and the violence, the actual violence, she goes after people physically.
00:24:54.820 So what exactly happened with her this past weekend, please?
00:24:58.740 Yeah, so what happened was actually following that she was there the day of the Saturday, the main day.
00:25:06.760 She's actually around any time we try to do anything, pretty much at this point.
00:25:10.200 she comes down and she's there um she was there most of the day and there wasn't really too many
00:25:15.000 issues she tried to give people a hard time but everyone's so happy and just doing their thing
00:25:19.080 didn't really work for her on the saturday but uh on the sunday when it was you know there was
00:25:24.040 nothing planned it was more of an informal thing so you know the wellington street regulars um
00:25:29.480 we're down like the same you know the usual people this is just a loosely affiliated group
00:25:33.240 it's nothing official right this is what we call the people that that regularly hang around the hill
00:25:37.080 excuse me um they were hanging out and there was still quite a few people in town right so there
00:25:43.100 was there was some people downtown and uh she went down there basically just to just to stare
00:25:47.980 the pot um i i took that day off so i spoke to everyone there and i mean i've been through all
00:25:52.700 the video but uh she got into it like like verbally with quite a few people and then there
00:25:57.380 was some physical altercation um and eventually to me she was just basically attacking people
00:26:03.220 and uh she went to to attack someone and uh one uh one guy that that was down there basically
00:26:09.740 grabbed her and restrained her kind of like a citizen's arrest type of thing basically
00:26:12.800 and he walked her up onto parliament hill like to the closest law enforcement i guess that you
00:26:17.540 could see um and he walked her just you know like brought her up and he's saying like this
00:26:22.420 and i'm detained and then you know there's all kinds of people around and everybody ended up
00:26:25.720 going down and the two of them actually ended up getting arrested and uh she caught the one
00:26:30.300 your band from Parliament Hill.
00:26:32.340 So, I mean, that's
00:26:34.500 at least something, I guess.
00:26:36.840 Is there anybody else, I'm sorry
00:26:38.380 to interrupt you, Chris, is there anybody else
00:26:40.320 who's equally as bad as she
00:26:42.420 is, or is she the one that's the instigator 0.96
00:26:44.380 and stirs the pot?
00:26:46.280 Yeah, I mean, she's probably
00:26:47.920 the main instigator, but there's a couple others.
00:26:51.040 There's one that I send her out of there
00:26:52.240 that's quite quiet, doesn't really start
00:26:54.200 anything, but she's constantly there documenting
00:26:56.180 she's probably one of these
00:26:57.980 anonymous accounts or something online.
00:27:00.300 but uh there's another uh another instigator named personal her own name and this isn't the 1.00
00:27:05.320 name i gave her but she goes by purse nuggets um she's kind of a heavyset gal that rides a tricycle 1.00
00:27:11.160 and yells and screams at everyone chris barber told me about her yeah yeah yeah chris got uh
00:27:17.580 chris got the royal treatment from them while he was at his uh his ongoing trial i guess at this
00:27:22.500 like it's yeah i mean on the back she has a sign like like she calls her so like i'm not trying to 0.89
00:27:36.800 be this is this is deadly like 100 serious the sign on it says tricycle riding hooker on the 1.00
00:27:42.460 back of her her tricycle and she's got like a megaphone and she just screams and yells at
00:27:47.660 people it's quite uh quite the scene i'll bet so can can you uh this is your first time on the
00:27:54.600 show you've been on the show in the past uh viewers know you obviously uh you run a round
00:28:00.120 table i think around christmas time um but we didn't get a chance to get to know who you are
00:28:05.920 and why you do this and this is something i like to ask all guests when they come on the show for
00:28:11.240 the first time when there's a one-on-one conversation what your your lightning bolt
00:28:16.820 moment was but before we get to that tell us who you were before all this stuff started
00:28:21.600 yeah so um yeah before days to meet i was you know chris i just uh i i was born uh born in
00:28:28.700 ottawa lived in carlton place for for the early years of my life which is just uh just west of
00:28:33.260 ottawa but from like grade school on i've lived lived in and around ottawa my whole life um i'm
00:28:38.400 carpenter by faith so i was a carpenter before before all this um started that like when i was
00:28:43.820 about 20 so uh quite a few quite a few years under my belt doing that um yeah i mean that's
00:28:50.680 kind of the the coals notes i'm not sure uh sure what else you'd like to know but i'm happy to uh
00:28:55.120 to elaborate i guess okay well um you just you're a carpenter and you did you go out of business or
00:29:02.180 like what exactly okay so yeah i'm i'm i'm self-employed i just did about uh five six years
00:29:08.600 uh you know when i first got going with a wonderful master carpenter from uh from ireland
00:29:12.700 So I got lucky there, he taught me a ton, and I went out on my own in probably my mid-20s.
00:29:17.700 I did flooring, mainly flooring staircases for a good 10 years before I started branching out into different things.
00:29:26.700 Pre-COVID, I partnered up with another guy I know, and we were doing exterior finishing on new construction.
00:29:34.700 Pretty nice tall houses, hardy plank type stuff.
00:29:39.700 So it was, it was pretty good. We got that business was fairly new.
00:29:44.020 The hope was that it was, it was kind of scalable and growable, right?
00:29:47.680 So we were kind of getting it, hoping we'd get it established.
00:29:50.860 And then that's kind of thing like train a crew and I could manage it.
00:29:53.940 And you know what, even 10 years of flooring,
00:29:56.580 get a number on my knees and back and construction's not easy.
00:30:01.120 And actually maybe as a quick aside,
00:30:02.900 there's a few things that came into play here.
00:30:04.760 So not long before COVID also,
00:30:07.300 So I've been having really, really bad problems with my body, like aches and pain, but not
00:30:12.140 just the same usual work type related stuff.
00:30:15.000 Again, like unbelievable swelling in my ankles, my lower back, agonizing pain.
00:30:20.300 I'd get these flare-ups that were unbelievable.
00:30:22.740 So I'd had that problem for a number of years.
00:30:24.400 And probably, man, it was like a few weeks before COVID actually came, I finally got
00:30:30.980 a diagnosis for what I was dealing with.
00:30:33.200 And it's called ankylosing spondylitis.
00:30:35.820 but it did a pretty good number on me so like my ankles are almost entirely fused i have like
00:30:41.700 little to no i have no side lateral motion and just very little forward and back motion
00:30:46.140 it's also affecting it normally affects the spine mine started lower but uh it's doing a number on
00:30:52.220 my spine so i mean there's uh there's some some things i have to think about as far as i can't
00:30:57.100 carry a business on my back the way i did so that was kind of the thinking with the business we had
00:31:00.860 going um and we were doing uh doing pretty good we we you know we've done it was under our belt
00:31:07.580 and uh we were heading into winter like it was getting close to christmas and uh and things just
00:31:12.860 started starting to be more and more more of an issue um in new construction like the rules were
00:31:18.140 weird there was times where you could pour foundations or not pour foundations people
00:31:22.440 could work inside a house if it was already poured but not if it wasn't like there's all kinds of
00:31:26.220 weird rules that were changing all the time and all these things you know with one trade it's
00:31:30.780 delayed or one process in this home building you know it's a very very you know uh it all lies on
00:31:37.040 the thing before it right so it started to be these issues where all kinds of houses were
00:31:41.100 or you go to do a thing and a trade wasn't done here because you know it was delayed from before
00:31:46.300 it just became a major major issue and uh you know it's if you're not doing it quickly enough
00:31:52.560 And the right way, I mean, you have a few employees and you start to hemorrhage money pretty quick.
00:31:57.200 So, excuse that, and a couple other things.
00:32:00.100 But we decided we had to shutter the doors.
00:32:03.160 It was about December before the, a year before the convoy arrived.
00:32:07.960 And not knowing really what to do, you know, the world was, it was a crazy time.
00:32:12.680 My body wasn't in great shape.
00:32:14.260 I didn't really know what to do about business.
00:32:16.540 I just decided that I would move.
00:32:18.040 I got a little place downtown Ottawa, like right downtown.
00:32:20.380 and uh and moved downtown kind of figuring i figured it out from there um and i ended up
00:32:26.680 down there for over a year basically stuck everything shut down around me kind of like
00:32:30.600 locked in a little room basically never expected that but that's kind of how it turned out
00:32:35.640 you know i gotta ask you this question because i talked to tasha fishman about it last night i'm
00:32:43.820 not sure if you're familiar with her uh she she is fantastic wealth of knowledge when it comes to
00:32:50.460 the global situation that we're in right now the globalists in the great reset and whatnot
00:32:55.860 and i asked her what her lightning bolt moment was her dr strange third eye moment was when it
00:33:03.580 all occurred to her that this is nothing but a big sham so i'm going to ask you that now
00:33:08.980 when did it finally hit you that this was nothing more than just a way to control people
00:33:17.200 um yeah i don't know if it hit me so much like a lightning bolt i would say i've probably been
00:33:23.480 waking up for for a long time um but once i ended up downtown like i've been working through this
00:33:29.980 and around people and and kind of continuing on as as normal and i mean it was never sick i was
00:33:35.720 fine. Everything was, the world seemed okay, except for the way, you know, certain people
00:33:39.940 were acting or telling us we need to act. So, like, I mean, that got to me more and
00:33:45.160 more every day. But once I ended up downtown, like downtown, right off Bank Street, I mean,
00:33:49.880 blocks from Parliament Hill, south of Parliament Hill, and, you know, Bank Street, which used
00:33:54.180 to be one of the busiest pedestrian-type stopping areas in the city, was devoid of people.
00:34:00.160 You know, I'd walk every part of my condition. I'm in a lot of pain in the morning, so every
00:34:04.040 day. I would try to get up and do a pretty good walk. It helps with my life. So I would
00:34:09.260 walk, you know, down these empty streets up Bank Street by Parliament Hill, look at those
00:34:13.760 flags at half map that had been there for months. And, you know, just everything was
00:34:19.400 off. Nothing aligned with what I was being told. Nothing aligned with what the world
00:34:24.260 should be. And it was hard to see. Like, you'd see, you know, shop after shop stuttering
00:34:29.580 they're stuttering their doors you know for sale for lease going up the only people in the street
00:34:34.360 were people that were suffering terribly um you know every alleyway you hear someone screaming
00:34:39.020 and you know as time progressed it's kind of crazy but like i started seeing less and less
00:34:44.200 of these people and my only thought was like like what's happening to them they're gone right like 0.95
00:34:50.000 like these whore they were already suffering badly enough and you know and are you talking 0.97
00:34:54.520 about drug addicted people homeless people yeah both homeless people drug addicted mental health 0.99
00:34:59.120 issues you name it but the only people really that were out were the odd person like me kind
00:35:03.120 of just was going for a walk and you know i would go out and film stuff or whatever i've always done
00:35:07.320 that um but you know basically it was just exposed suffering and nothing else to there's no
00:35:13.460 curtain over it was just right there in your face because that's all there was everything else was
00:35:17.680 dead like it was very very strange so that those those things really really kind of kind of got to
00:35:25.080 So it was all about the things that weren't happening and the response to it and the way people were acting.
00:35:32.700 Did that go on until the convoy arrived? Did you speak out before that?
00:35:37.640 Yeah, I mean, I didn't really speak out publicly. I didn't really have anyone to speak out to.
00:35:42.620 You know, my old friends, like the guy I was working with was obviously fine with him.
00:35:46.600 We worked together. We lived together briefly. So, I mean, that was okay.
00:35:51.040 Down in Ottawa, you know, it's not like in downtown Ottawa
00:35:55.760 it was a bastion of pre-thinkers, I would say.
00:35:59.540 Often it was just me.
00:36:01.320 Like, once a few people had started showing up,
00:36:03.480 you know, even prior to Convoy,
00:36:05.120 there were people that would show up at Parliament Hill
00:36:06.980 with flags or different things randomly,
00:36:08.780 and, you know, I kind of would see them every once in a while,
00:36:11.960 but I kind of was just not yelling into the void.
00:36:16.180 But, you know, I would get frustrated.
00:36:17.340 I'd share stuff, but, you know, I didn't really know what to do.
00:36:19.960 I had no idea what to do.
00:36:21.040 or or what what could be done you know for a guy with your medical condition
00:36:27.300 you've gotten yourself into some pretty tough physical scrapes i've seen some of the video
00:36:32.980 that you've put up there and you actually even got me a 48 hour ban on facebook once
00:36:38.620 because you put up a video and i went wow man that daisy really gets his nose in there
00:36:46.100 and somehow facebook took that as as an insult or a racist comment or something i don't know how
00:36:55.120 but they they took me down for 48 hours i went what what can you give us some of the highlights
00:37:04.200 or lowlights i guess as the case may be about some of the the tough scrapes you've gotten yourself
00:37:09.540 involved in yeah i mean i've been able to be be part of so many incredible things here i mean i
00:37:14.820 I would say as far as a highlight, being able to spend a bit of time marching outside of Ottawa with James Toff
00:37:21.380 and then coming in the whole way, that was an absolutely incredible, incredible experience.
00:37:27.920 Thousands of people.
00:37:29.760 I was kind of like right off the front of the march as it came around into downtown.
00:37:33.560 It's about literally thousands of people trailing behind James Toff.
00:37:37.260 And I was maybe 10 feet away when he saw the memorial.
00:37:40.980 I was right on the corner of the team when he put his hand on there.
00:37:44.820 And that was a pretty, you know, still to this day, you can't really put it into words properly.
00:37:52.120 It was like I was shaking from emotion.
00:37:55.500 As far as the other side, I mean, the stuff I've done with Save Canada has been pretty hairy at times.
00:38:03.040 There was a protest here with Bill Boyd, Chris, and I've known Josh for quite a long time.
00:38:09.820 I know Josh's family.
00:38:11.620 I've been helping out.
00:38:12.820 Josh Alexander, you're talking about Josh.
00:38:14.640 yeah yeah so um like there was a billboard chris uh him and billboard chris put on a
00:38:21.860 a protest here in ottawa and like it brought out man hundreds and hundreds of uh of both sides
00:38:29.060 and and it was a wild wild scene wild um i can't even really describe it like there was a time
00:38:35.660 where like we couldn't they ended up blockading the streets and we had half chris billboard chris
00:38:40.300 was like two blocks away stuck on another side you know so we ended up kind of running around
00:38:45.120 the block like we were going to sneak around the block and flank them so to speak and you know i'm
00:38:49.460 walking with the guys we're kind of like jogging and i look behind in my camera and there's like
00:38:53.340 literally 200 people running behind us trying to come around the block what kind of scene is this
00:38:58.440 you know we go in there and you get in with these these antifa types man and uh they can get pretty
00:39:03.960 nasty like the screaming and the yelling and the megaphones and the noisemakers are a lot but they
00:39:09.340 on umbrellas and they poke you and they'll break them and stab you with them um nick out into 0.98
00:39:14.680 josh's brother nick got big cut over his eye at one of them i mean i got these guys punch me hit
00:39:19.760 me poke me um you know it does get a little hairy in there you know i keep telling people about
00:39:28.040 antifa now here in winnipeg we've got antifa but they don't get like that they don't get
00:39:32.220 that lathered up right where they're gonna be punching and hitting you with umbrellas or
00:39:37.300 throwing megaphones in your face or frozen water bottles you've experienced that many people have
00:39:43.140 and what do the cops do when these people show up um yeah it's not as bad in ottawa as some places 1.00
00:39:49.600 like like i hear quebec can be pretty bad um it's when you get the black block type and because
00:39:53.860 other are the ones you really got when they're covered covered covered um those are the ones
00:39:58.240 you got to watch for um toronto was was pretty we did another uh event with josh alexander and
00:40:03.980 Save Canada and Toronto, the one where Nick got cut and a veteran, Wild Bill, they ended
00:40:09.060 up arresting them.
00:40:11.020 So often when the attacks happen, they're almost, not almost, they're entirely one-sided.
00:40:16.640 So like attacks on us.
00:40:19.060 And actually a great example would be at the NAC in Ottawa.
00:40:22.700 We had one and we ended up being surrounded completely by this mob of pro, trans, actors,
00:40:30.460 whatever you want to call them.
00:40:31.240 and we were surrounded and they were
00:40:34.200 man it was nasty they got my hat
00:40:36.160 they were throwing all kinds of things
00:40:37.940 and the police ended up coming in
00:40:39.700 dragging us all out into the street
00:40:41.900 so they grabbed the boys
00:40:43.140 I called them young men grabbed them
00:40:45.620 pulled them out dragged us all into the street
00:40:47.440 basically threw us into the street then they arrested
00:40:49.800 they threw me right up on a police car
00:40:51.960 I thought I was going down that was the closest I got
00:40:54.000 pretty much but they ended up arresting
00:40:55.840 arresting the boys
00:40:56.940 and then they take them away
00:41:00.140 and they hold them for a little bit and then you know it's always the same way pull them away
00:41:04.080 release them without charging but then it's too late right and i mean the excuse for the
00:41:09.460 explanation you'll get is it's for your own safety but i mean this should be this should
00:41:15.120 be prevented like it could be stopped you know they wanted to protect us they could have prevented
00:41:18.900 this mob from taking over the sidewalk and surrounding us and they could have escorted
00:41:22.340 us there's many ways to handle that don't involve throwing us in the street and having
00:41:25.860 getting people arrested for it have you got have you got a relationship with the with the freedom
00:41:31.320 guys the vets for freedom yeah so um yeah i know i mean not an official relationship of any sort
00:41:38.160 but i know i know a few of the guys know jeff eevely quite well which is uh used to be the
00:41:42.340 podcast i think it's it's renamed now radical candor they're doing a lot more content and
00:41:47.100 there's a few guys i've gotten to know quite well um on a personal level drew mcgillivray
00:41:51.460 um he's where the hat comes from um some of those guys have been uh been invaluable i mean as as
00:41:58.100 support as uh you know uh mentorship just just you know this is a a crazy world i'm suddenly in
00:42:04.900 and uh sometimes i'm a little out of my i'm a little out of my depth at times and uh those
00:42:10.040 guys have been really helpful to me and i've also been been able to be around like since basically
00:42:14.880 their inception did a lot of the filming because no one else was there i just put myself in there
00:42:19.180 and I got to know the guys and what are some of the best things that you've learned
00:42:24.180 Chris like overall the last couple of years
00:42:27.920 I'm learning to learning still learning but uh you know to be calm in some of these chaotic
00:42:34.980 situations it's uh I think part of that is a little bit of uh you know like uh exposure therapy
00:42:40.620 or going through it but uh you know you do enough of this I'm able to think a lot clearer in these
00:42:45.800 moments you know you have to i guess you still have to have the knowledge and the basics under
00:42:50.760 there but uh you know i've i think i've found a lot more direction i've learned to kind of
00:42:56.120 focus focus the energy and try to do this a little more more strategically um there's not
00:43:01.000 really i get excitable like i'm an excitable guy in general um and i get pretty happy and excited
00:43:05.720 but when you know when when it gets real like i i really feel like i'm in my element now that's
00:43:10.060 changed quite a bit before i i had no real focus and i was just kind of riding the wave right and
00:43:15.680 i'd get caught up with emotion and i didn't really know what the heck i was doing and
00:43:18.900 it's a pretty steep learning curve doing some of this stuff but uh would you say this is you know
00:43:24.340 a lot of people have said to me and a lot of people have mentioned this about me that now
00:43:31.720 you're finally doing what you were supposed to be doing the whole time even though this situation
00:43:36.620 didn't exist 10 years ago right were we learning lessons in our lives and i'm talking about
00:43:43.600 everybody who's watching this right now too you know trying to get the message out trying to tell
00:43:48.420 people the truth are you doing now what you're always you always were supposed to be doing
00:43:53.940 is this what it is i i think so um i mean i i love carpentry i love building stuff um
00:44:00.780 was good at that um they would i really enjoy i mean i still do but when like even on the worst
00:44:07.620 days doing doing this kind of stuff like i feel like i'm exactly where i should be and i'm supposed
00:44:12.320 to be like sometimes you get into that where everything just aligns right and you're like
00:44:16.580 you're in the right place you're at the right time you just know like time stands still you know
00:44:20.740 anxiety all the stuff just disappears and you're just there and doing it and and i mean i've felt
00:44:25.400 that and experienced that way more since i i started doing this than i ever have your life
00:44:30.700 has changed obviously more than just your occupation your friends family did you have
00:44:37.420 anybody turn against you i mean like any family there was there was i mean there's some some
00:44:43.380 infighting i would say from more my extended family but uh i'm pretty at least with my immediate
00:44:48.800 family i'm we're very close um we don't see eye to eye on everything but i didn't uh there was
00:44:54.980 never any real issues there. As far as friends, I mean, I have more friends or real friends
00:45:02.220 now. And, you know, before this, I probably really didn't have one real friend. Now I
00:45:07.900 have some actual friends and there's people that I feel like I'm closer to than people
00:45:13.060 I've known my whole life, you know, so it's kind of like a minor tribe, I guess. Yeah,
00:45:17.180 it's really strange. I didn't even really know that the depths or what this kind of
00:45:21.500 friendship and relationships how meaningful and how engaging special they could be really
00:45:26.300 you know i haven't been as lucky as you when it comes to meeting people i did not get a chance
00:45:34.700 to go to the freedom convoy in ottawa we had a mini version of it here in winnipeg and that was
00:45:39.300 great um i've met a few folks through the freedom movement but haven't had the chance to get around
00:45:45.680 through the country yet so in the next couple of weeks i'm going to be going to swift current and
00:45:49.980 And Jamie Saleh is going to be there.
00:45:51.900 And Eva Chipeuk is going to be there.
00:45:54.440 And this is a fundraiser, obviously, for Chris Barber.
00:45:57.180 Tamera is going to be there as well.
00:45:58.900 I can't tell you.
00:45:59.860 I think Tom Marazzo is coming out for that.
00:46:01.560 So I can't even tell you how happy I am to finally get a chance to meet some of these folks in person.
00:46:07.980 Just like I want to meet you guys out east in Ottawa.
00:46:10.460 You and Patriot Smoothie, Jonathan.
00:46:12.420 And by the way, I haven't mentioned this on the show yet, you guys.
00:46:17.480 uh jonathan patriot smoothie lost his dad about a month a month and a half ago uh he was talking
00:46:24.460 about a family matter and and he was not going to be able to cover certain things for a certain
00:46:28.960 period of time so i waited on that for a while to mention it tonight's the first time i'm
00:46:33.340 mentioning so uh dude if you are watching this heartfelt condolences to you and to your family
00:46:40.020 i know what that's like and uh i don't know what the relationship was like between you and your
00:46:48.020 dad jonathan but uh it's tough losing a parent in any situation so uh we are with you on that one
00:46:55.580 you and him have developed an interesting relationship haven't you yeah yeah both i
00:47:01.880 professionally or whatever you want to call what we do but uh but also a friendship and i'm quite
00:47:07.660 close with with john he's he's a good friend and uh we talk often um yeah he's uh what he was going
00:47:14.540 through with his dad that that wasn't easy but uh you know what he's he's still chugging along and
00:47:19.340 and he put i've seen a few videos come up lately we've been talking maybe about uh about how we
00:47:23.740 want to approach this going forward and how we can maybe collaborate and and do more and maybe
00:47:28.700 you know step up our uh our production quality and and maybe just do a little more to to try
00:47:33.660 to make this a little more strategic and put out a better message to more people so what's the plan
00:47:38.940 then i mean i know you probably don't want to give away anything that you might or might not do but
00:47:43.260 give us kind of an overview because i'm thinking the same yeah well like like john is so knowledgeable
00:47:50.540 i mean he's so good uh he's great on the street and wherever he goes but i mean he he really knows
00:47:55.580 his stuff when it comes when it comes to when it comes to all subjects well written um you know
00:47:59.900 Something where we could, I think he needs a show, for one, some sort of regular show, and maybe we could do it.
00:48:05.840 If we work together, we could do a thing where it's not just me throwing up a video quickly from wherever I am with little to no contact.
00:48:13.600 We could actually do maybe an on-the-street and in-person type thing or two of us together.
00:48:18.300 There's a lot of options there, but I think one of the first things we need to do is get our equipment sorted out
00:48:25.000 and a place where we have, you know, a consistent place we can work and put stuff together.
00:48:31.020 I have been thinking about trying to get folks from all across the country together
00:48:35.220 on a main hub of some kind in the future.
00:48:38.680 So you're definitely a guy, and John as well, that I've got my eye on,
00:48:43.260 me and the team working behind the scenes.
00:48:45.780 Because, you know, it takes a certain amount of fearlessness to do what you do, Chris.
00:48:49.960 I mean, I can't even believe that you stick your nose in to half the situations you do and the injuries that you've incurred.
00:48:59.700 Can you even believe that you do these things?
00:49:03.740 No, no, dude.
00:49:04.460 Like, honestly, I mean, even after the week, I'm still kind of reeling from that press conference thing, man.
00:49:09.520 I checked out, somebody sent me the CPAC went there earlier and I looked and it was like at, I think, 200,000 views on CPAC in five days.
00:49:18.920 and like out of their live videos you click popular it's like fourth on the list of live
00:49:23.460 videos they've done like tamara's at the top and then there's like a couple of and then then there's
00:49:27.020 like it just blows my mind it completely blows my mind um i'm feeling more comfortable like i've
00:49:33.380 gotten to know quite a few people in this that makes it a little easier to approach people but
00:49:37.940 i'm like i'm still not comfortable just approaching a random person to try to talk or film them like
00:49:42.520 it's a strange thing to do um at the start i was so uncomfortable man but there was there was a
00:49:48.380 vacuum here like there was tons of streamers tons of people doing all kinds of stuff and then there
00:49:53.340 was there was no one and i was here i was living right downtown i wasn't doing anything else and i
00:50:00.680 had gotten a little bit of traction there towards the end of the thing so i'm like well i felt like
00:50:05.840 i felt i needed to do like like for me personally but also to fill a vacuum and to show what was
00:50:10.540 still going on here that's what i wanted to ask you if i were to hand you and this is what i ask
00:50:16.340 everybody who's doing this you me we're getting the word out to people we're trying to and we're
00:50:22.980 doing it our in our own ways if i were to hand you five million dollars chris would you be able
00:50:29.740 to stop doing what you're doing and just go and live in mexico for the rest of your life
00:50:33.880 no not a chance not a chance this is this is like like like first of all i love a challenge
00:50:39.900 i like to go like i go whatever i do i mean it's it's a double-edged sword but like i i get into
00:50:44.940 stuff i go hard um and this honestly like like we were talking a bit about about my medical condition
00:50:50.700 and stuff like this is what keeps me going you know when when i'm out there doing doing things
00:50:54.620 and in the middle of it like i don't feel pain at all and this makes all the hardship and all
00:50:59.980 the terrible stuff and everything you read and i've gotten to know quite a few people with man
00:51:05.660 just one one tragic story after another and you know this is this makes all of it work like it
00:51:13.420 It's what drives me, right?
00:51:15.940 Like, it keeps me going.
00:51:17.820 It's self-motivating.
00:51:20.060 It's making me a much better, like already.
00:51:22.440 It's improved me dramatically.
00:51:25.020 I'm a much better person now because of what I've been doing,
00:51:28.400 because of what I'm doing than I was before.
00:51:30.420 And I hope that that would continue.
00:51:32.380 I just want to keep challenging myself.
00:51:34.920 Where do you see this going, this whole great reset?
00:51:39.560 Are we going to be in chains in a couple of years?
00:51:41.900 Are we going to be living in gulags, or are we going to win this thing?
00:51:45.520 I don't think we're there yet.
00:51:49.100 I think we've still got some hard times ahead of us, though.
00:51:52.140 Things are changing to some degree.
00:51:54.360 I mean, we probably will be able to get a change of government,
00:51:58.120 but that doesn't mean that we're out of the woods by any means.
00:52:01.900 Like, I mean, locally, nationally, or the world,
00:52:04.940 there's a lot, a lot that needs to be done.
00:52:07.720 But I think that I'm feeling a change lately, right?
00:52:11.900 There's a lot more information getting out.
00:52:13.560 There's a lot more people that just through the fact that these various problems are affecting so many people personally.
00:52:20.260 When you get stricken with something or your loved one is affected or you lose your house,
00:52:26.240 these things, they will wake you up whether you want them to or not.
00:52:30.280 And so many people are affected by the myriad of issues that we're dealing with in society
00:52:35.580 that more and more people are having to pay attention every day.
00:52:40.160 And I think that will go a long way.
00:52:44.040 There's a critical mass that maybe needs to be hit.
00:52:47.420 But once you get there, it's like a slow drip.
00:52:49.740 But once it goes, I think things do change.
00:52:54.640 But I mean, there's so much work to do, right?
00:52:57.260 There's a ton of work to do.
00:52:58.360 I don't think our systems are so terrible.
00:53:02.240 Like, they're not working right.
00:53:03.780 But our major systems and our infrastructure are important.
00:53:06.160 We're a large group of, like, large population.
00:53:07.960 You know, you can't work without some sort of system in place.
00:53:11.920 And I think a lot of people did a lot of hard work building up what we have and building our society now.
00:53:17.200 I don't think the right idea is to just try to tear it down.
00:53:20.580 I think that would lead to chaos and suffering on an unimaginable scale.
00:53:24.780 So, I mean, it's not an easy thing.
00:53:26.720 And there's a lot of people much smarter than me that know about this more that are maybe working on maybe ways that we can try to fix our systems
00:53:33.760 and put some stuff in place to prevent what's happened here
00:53:38.200 from happening again in the future. 0.84
00:53:40.560 So let's say we've got a woman watching this show by herself tonight.
00:53:46.380 She lives in Consort, Alberta, let's just say. 0.97
00:53:51.580 And she wants to do something, but she doesn't know what she can do.
00:53:56.420 Everybody wants to do something, but they just seem at loose ends.
00:54:00.460 They can't figure out what it is they should be doing.
00:54:02.900 What do you recommend?
00:54:03.760 for somebody like that yeah i mean that's a pretty tough question i think i think the answer is going
00:54:09.000 to be different for everybody but uh i think it needs to start start like personally and locally
00:54:13.560 um like so many things like like you need to start by by informing yourself and having
00:54:18.740 conversations where you can um you know and and even you know people like like for people like
00:54:24.020 me the likes the shares when people hit these like that does make a difference every one of
00:54:28.560 these things makes a difference um i think it's important to maybe not put yourself in in the
00:54:33.920 mindset where you're going to do a thing and everything will be better or you're going to
00:54:37.100 you know that's not how these problems get solved unfortunately there isn't a sudden quick fix
00:54:41.520 but i think if if people start by having conversations talking to the people that
00:54:46.080 are close to them to whoever will listen um then they'll they'll they'll know they'll know and
00:54:51.040 understand better they'll figure out you know every person that changes that that's a way
00:54:54.480 every idea that gets through to someone
00:54:56.960 and it's just like I said
00:54:58.820 drip, drip, drip, you get to a point
00:55:01.040 where these things, more and more people are doing them
00:55:03.120 there will be a big enough wave that it makes
00:55:05.240 a difference, so I think you need to
00:55:07.140 maybe not think at such a
00:55:09.080 grandiose scale
00:55:10.100 and just start where you can
00:55:12.440 doing anything instead of doing nothing
00:55:15.160 and worrying about it. I like what you said
00:55:17.220 inform yourself, alright we're going to play
00:55:19.200 good guy, bad guy here, this is something I like to do
00:55:21.220 with guests occasionally, I'm going to throw two names
00:55:23.360 out to you you tell me good guy or bad guy or somewhere in between elon musk good guy
00:55:31.060 based upon a gut feeling yeah yeah more there's a few concerns there but uh i think i think overall
00:55:40.120 good some people are gonna hate me for that one but that's like that did you hear what he said
00:55:48.100 about his Neuralink today? Oh, no, I did not. I may have spoke too soon.
00:55:52.500 No, no, no. I mean, like, well, maybe.
00:55:55.660 The first Neuralink patient has recovered successfully from implant
00:56:00.060 surgery. Okay. And this person can now move a computer
00:56:03.900 mouse with his mind.
00:56:08.280 Yeah, it's wild stuff. I mean, I think the technology, people
00:56:11.960 get wrapped up in what you're trying to do. Technology, I don't think, is inherently good or bad.
00:56:16.140 But it depends on who's using it and how and their intentions, right?
00:56:21.300 So, you know, if this can, yeah, who knows, right?
00:56:25.560 We can't stop technology.
00:56:27.400 These advancements will be made.
00:56:30.440 Hopefully it's someone that with, you know, some morals and ethics
00:56:33.160 and we get some stuff that's in place to stop, you know, Terminator from happening.
00:56:37.800 But, you know.
00:56:39.140 iRobot is what I always go to when I hear this because I saw some of these robots the other day.
00:56:44.460 like a reaction from an artificial intelligence robot when it looks in the
00:56:49.960 mirror for the first time it's like yeah like wild all right next yeah yeah
00:56:59.540 yeah go ahead Pierre Polyev that's a harder one I think somewhere in between
00:57:08.680 he's definitely to me changed um i don't think he's necessarily a bad guy but but the jury's
00:57:15.780 still out on that one for me i have some concern all right man chris you are a good man thank you
00:57:22.480 for joining the show tonight it's been a pleasure just having a chit chat with you getting to know
00:57:26.540 you a bit better and and uh finding out what you're all about so thanks for coming on i'd
00:57:30.480 love to have you come back on at some point soon and say hi to john for us yeah i will for sure
00:57:35.520 Thanks so much.
00:57:36.060 Oh,
00:57:36.200 one more thing.
00:57:36.960 Where can we find you on social media?
00:57:38.480 Have you got a website?
00:57:39.260 Like how can people find stuff?
00:57:40.580 Yeah.
00:57:40.840 So Facebook,
00:57:42.180 Chris Dacey,
00:57:43.100 at Chris Dacey on X.
00:57:44.840 If you search Dacey Media,
00:57:46.240 you'll find pretty much anything.
00:57:47.740 I did launch a website recently,
00:57:49.440 DaceyMedia.ca,
00:57:50.660 but it's on.
00:57:52.120 Anyways,
00:57:52.540 but more will be coming to that website soon.
00:57:55.440 Okay,
00:57:55.860 man.
00:57:56.080 Thanks for coming out.
00:57:56.800 I'll talk to you again soon.
00:57:57.540 Okay.
00:57:57.700 Thanks so much.
00:57:58.360 Okay.
00:57:58.620 All right.
00:57:59.300 There is Chris Dacey,
00:58:01.200 DaceyMedia.ca.
00:58:02.780 You guys can go find him there or an X.
00:58:04.580 he's got a lot of good stuff up there and facebook also um the extension begins in just a second
00:58:11.060 on shadow davis.com so if you're not an all access member it's $9.99 a month it's not going to be a
00:58:17.440 lot of money for you all right if you want to join for just one month to stick your toe in the water
00:58:21.680 and check it out that's going to be $12.99 there is a free option as well that gets you the newsletter
00:58:27.320 which i'll once again start publishing on sundays once a week what we're going to be covering in the
00:58:33.720 new week and what we already covered in the last week. Coming up on the extension tonight,
00:58:38.840 as Chris and I were just talking about, we're going to tell you the story
00:58:41.540 of the first Neuralink patient who just recovered from successful implant surgery
00:58:49.060 and what this person can now do. Also today, Justin Trudeau announced after $175 million
00:58:56.240 for new home construction in Edmonton from Edmonton that the online harms bill is going
00:59:02.100 to be coming to the House of Commons next week. This is basically a censorship bill. For anybody
00:59:07.380 who says anything online that Justin Trudeau doesn't like, that he considers to be hate speech,
00:59:13.080 that person will be jailed and fined quite possibly. We'll tell you more about that. We'll
00:59:17.540 also tell you what Pierre Polyev said about it. We do have a couple of other things we want to
00:59:22.480 talk about. Remember that 90-year-old woman who volunteered with the Multiple Sclerosis Society
00:59:27.320 in the United States who was fired for not understanding
00:59:31.560 what pronouns were, well, MS has done a backpedal on that,
00:59:37.080 and we'll tell you more about that coming up on the extension
00:59:40.340 on shadowdavis.com for all Access members in a couple of minutes.
00:59:46.060 For those of you who will not be joining us on the website tonight,
