00:01:47.680 People love him and respect him. Roger Stone.
00:01:50.460 Now, get in the zone. It's the Stone Zone.
00:01:54.340 Here's Roger Stone.
00:01:58.260 You are now entering the Stone Zone.
00:02:01.780 Now, in my 50 years in American politics, I've seen a lot of what they call dirty tricks.
00:02:07.220 Like, for example, when Bobby Kennedy, managing the campaign of his brother Jack,
00:02:12.180 mailed virulent anti-Catholic literature to Catholic voter households in the West Virginia primary,
00:02:18.660 making it look like that came from their competitor, Hubert Humphrey.
00:02:21.740 But I've rarely seen a dirty trick like the one that's unfolding right now in Alaska.
00:02:26.940 Federal prosecutors are now investigating how Daniel J. Sullivan Jr. landed on Alaska's U.S. Senate ballot as an independent in a race in which incumbent Republican Senator Dan Sullivan is running.
00:02:39.060 There's now a grand jury, a subpoena is expected, as investigators examine whether voters' rights were violated.
00:02:45.100 And the Democrats have basically been caught red-handed in the middle of this dirty trick.
00:02:50.120 Fox News correspondent Bill Malugan relaying reporting from his colleague David Spunt on Monday that the criminal investigation has been underway for months and has gained urgency following a New York Times investigative report published earlier this week into the efforts by Democrat operatives to go out, recruit, and find somebody with the senator's name, the senator's namesake.
00:03:11.440 The U.S. Attorney's Office in Alaska is preparing to seek preservation of communications held by phone companies and expect to issue subpoenas in the hours and days ahead.
00:03:20.500 Prosecutors want to establish whether the sequence of events that brought Sullivan into the race are examining possible offenses involving the deprivation of Alaska's voting rights, the report said.
00:03:31.760 The investigation is expected to continue beyond Election Day.
00:03:34.660 The latest development follows a blockbuster New York Times report describing a months-long effort involving people working with Democrat Senate nominee Mary Peltola and her campaign, as well as the Democrat Senatorial Campaign Committee, to recruit additional candidates.
00:03:51.500 In other words, they put out a dragnet to find somebody named Dan Sullivan.
00:03:55.700 The Times based its account on interviews with 12 sources, text messages, and documents.
00:04:01.060 The report included searching for Alaska residents who shared the incumbent senator's last name in computer searches.
00:04:08.260 Elias Rios, Peltola's former campaign manager, told the Times that voters should know about the recruitment effort.
00:04:14.800 Peltola's campaign again denied any involvement after the story appears, but let's just say the New York Times has the receipts.
00:04:20.700 The Alaskans for Mary campaign has no involvement in either Sullivan campaign, the campaign of Peltola said in a statement reported by the Alaska public media.
00:04:31.580 Like Mary, our campaign is focused on lowering costs and fixing the rigged system in D.C.
00:04:37.380 That sounds to me like whistling through the graveyard, folks.
00:04:40.340 The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee has also denied participating in the recruitment.
00:04:45.540 Sullivan has previously maintained that his candidacy was independent of Peltola's campaign.
00:04:49.840 The dispute over his candidacy began well before the general election, however.
00:04:53.880 Election officials in Alaska initially sought to exclude Sullivan from the ballot,
00:04:58.500 concluding that his filing was intended purposely to mislead voters.
00:05:02.440 He challenged that decision in court, and the Alaska Supreme Court upheld his eligibility to run.
00:05:07.720 President Donald Trump also called on Peltola and the second Sullivan be taken off the ballot
00:05:11.860 and prosecuted, accusing Democrats of recruiting the challenger in order to mislead the voters of Alaska.
00:05:17.620 This is voter fraud at the highest level, said the president, and the Democrat candidate who was involved in the scheme, Mary Peltola, should be removed from the ballot and prosecuted, and so should the fake Dan Sullivan. Nothing else will do. This behavior in our elections cannot be allowed to continue, President Trump wrote online.
00:05:35.040 It's also interesting that Mark Elias, the Democrat super lawyer, the guy who was behind many of the efforts to keep Trump off the ballot in the 2024 election and was deeply involved in the Russian collusion hoax.
00:05:48.020 I'm very familiar with Mr. Elias because he showed up in the courtroom during my trial to argue with the judge that my defense attorneys should not be furnished with the so-called crowd strikes memo, which supposedly proved that the Democrat National Committee had been the target of a successful Russian intelligence hack.
00:06:09.980 The judge didn't need much convincing. She denied that document to my defense attorneys, but we later learned out why.
00:06:16.520 Testifying before the House Intelligence Committee, the head of CrowdStrikes testified that the report did not include any proof whatsoever that the Russians had hacked the DNC.
00:06:30.180 Sean Henry, the head of CrowdStrikes, just coincidentally happened to be a former deputy to Robert Mueller when he was the FBI director.
00:06:38.600 So Mark Elias, whose fingerprints are all over this Dan Sullivan hoax, is among those who are now under the microscope.
00:06:46.520 On Wednesday, however, on CNN, Senator Cory Booker said that the reporting that Democrats had attempted to recruit this spoiler Dan Evans to try to take votes away from Senator Dan Evans, Sullivan, pardon me, is much ado about nothing.
00:07:00.620 And it's an attempt for Donald Trump to cast a shadow over what might be a really bad loss for him for an Alaska election.
00:07:06.340 So in other words, Senator Cory Booker says putting a fake Dan Sullivan on the ballot to siphon votes from the real Dan Sullivan is much ado about nothing.
00:07:14.980 No, I'd say it's a dirty trick.
00:07:16.700 Co-host Boris Sanchez asked, the New York Times is reporting that aides at your party's Senate campaign committee helped recruit spoiler candidate Dan Sullivan in Alaska to try to split the Republican senator's vote there.
00:07:28.660 Both Mary Peltola's campaign and the Democrat senatorial campaign committee deny it.
00:07:33.880 Do you think that the Democratic senatorial campaign committee should open an internal review?
00:07:38.960 And if the reporting is accurate, what is an acceptable way to, is this an acceptable way to win a Senate race?
00:07:43.860 Booker answered, look, you want me to trust an objective person on this? Turn to Lisa Murkowski.
00:07:48.980 She said she's already been decided by the Alaska Supreme Court that the Trump DOJ should stay out
00:07:53.640 of this. They have no standing in terms of the law. What they've been trying to do is to cast
00:07:57.800 doubt on an election. I'm actually looking at the ballot to see if there is any other way confusing.
00:08:02.400 I think what they're doing is insulting Alaska voters. It's clear that Dan Sullivan is a
00:08:06.600 Republican candidate, so I think this is much to do about nothing, and its attempt for Donald
00:08:11.320 Trump to cast a shadow over what might be a really bad loss for him for Alaska. Actually,
00:08:15.640 that's inconsistent what I saw. I saw Lisa Murkowski, who is a moderate Republican and
00:08:20.480 the other senator. Her trajectory is interesting. Her father was governor. Then when he was elected
00:08:25.900 to the Senate, he resigned the Senate seat to become governor and appointed his daughter,
00:08:30.200 Lisa Murkowski, to the Senate. Since then, she's gotten reelected several times. But remember,
00:08:34.440 Alaska has ranked choice voting, which is this very convoluted system in which the candidate
00:08:40.040 who gets the most votes in the first round
00:08:42.260 is not necessarily the candidate who's elected to the U.S. Senate
00:08:45.940 or as the governorship.
00:08:47.540 But the fact that Cory Booker sees nothing wrong with any of this
00:08:51.360 doesn't surprise me.
00:08:52.480 Cory Booker has his own past to hide.
00:08:54.480 As the mayor of Newark, Cory Booker embezzled $600,000
00:08:57.880 from the city's Watershed Water Authority,
00:09:00.820 laundering money through his law firm.
00:09:02.700 Booker claimed to know nothing about the transfer,
00:09:05.060 but the authority minutes showed that he,
00:09:07.060 as an ex-official member of the board of the Water Authority,
00:09:10.800 voted to pay his firm the funds.
00:09:13.140 The Newark Watershed Conservation and Development Corporation scandal
00:09:16.700 involved widespread corruption at the nonprofit
00:09:19.440 managing Newark's watershed during Cory Booker's term as mayor.
00:09:24.360 The executive director, Linda Watkins Brashier,
00:09:27.540 pled guilty and was sentenced to 8.5 years in prison
00:09:30.280 for accepting nearly $1 million in bribes and kickbacks
00:09:33.880 become contractors via no-bid deals and inflated payments.
00:09:38.400 It was Watkins Brashier who approved the transfer of the money to Cory Booker's law firm.
00:09:43.860 When confronted specifically about the payment to his law firm,
00:09:47.000 well, Cory Booker couldn't keep his story straight.
00:09:48.980 First he said it was delayed compensation, then he said it was a partnership buyout,
00:09:53.620 then he said it was for legal work done for the Watershed Water Authority,
00:09:58.040 which of course would have been a conflict of interest.
00:09:59.940 How could the Water Authority retain the law firm of the mayor in order to do their legal work?
00:10:06.900 Booker's former campaign treasurer and law partner, Leonardo Webster, helped recommend board members.
00:10:12.020 The board then retained his firm for over $1 million in legal fees.
00:10:16.560 A New York State Comptroller's report criticized reckless spending and minimal oversight.
00:10:21.220 Booker was, of course, an ex-officio board chair, but attended zero meetings and was never criminally charged.
00:10:26.400 He did attend one meeting, however, the meeting in which he was there to vote for the transfer to his own lot firm.
00:10:32.700 If Cory Booker was a Republican, he would have gone to jail with the staffers who were convicted for processing the payments to Cory Booker's own firm.
00:10:39.180 Cory Booker, if I were you, I would be, if it were you or I, I would be in prison.
00:10:43.680 Maybe you'll be there one day soon.
00:10:45.180 I am going to republish my book, Spartacus.
00:10:47.880 I published a book that was a full expose on the political record of Senator Cory Booker.
00:10:54.740 But my book bombed because his candidacy bombed.
00:10:57.900 That was back in, I guess it was 2016 or 2020.
00:11:01.840 But I'm going to republish the book.
00:11:03.240 I'm going to update it some because the hypocrisy of Senator Cory Booker here is pretty astounding.

00:12:38.040 Meanwhile, China's National Bureau of Statistics published the 2026 edition of its yearbook this week,
00:12:43.700 revealing that the national population declined by 3.39 million in 2025.
00:12:48.260 This is the fourth decline in a row, and the worst since 2022.
00:12:52.280 China's population remained enormous, over 1.4 billion people,
00:12:56.500 but the cycle of births and deaths left it 7.7 million people smaller than it was in 2021,
00:13:03.220 the beginning of China's seen inexorable population decline.
00:13:07.620 Foreign Affairs magazine called it China's long twilight,
00:13:11.060 pointing out that the situation for China was graver than the total population numbers indicated
00:13:15.380 because a generation of much-needed young workers is not being born.
00:13:20.260 By 2020, by 2040, if China continues to follow East Asia's descent into ultra-low fertility rates,
00:13:28.440 it will shed around 1% of its population annually.
00:13:31.580 That's roughly 10 million people per year, more than the population of New York City.
00:13:35.860 At the same time, the proportion of China's population age 65 and older will surge,
00:13:41.620 doubling from 15% today to around 30% in 2040, and then rising to well over 40% by the late 21st century.
00:13:50.760 The size of that cohort in the United States, by contrast, is projected to rise far more gradually
00:13:55.920 from about 19% of the population today to about 23% by 2060, that is to say those over 40.
00:14:03.120 So put simply, China is entering a century of demographic decline.
00:14:06.800 This change will remake the country's economy and politics just as dramatically as the last century's demographic boom did.
00:14:13.860 AEI placed most of its blame on China's infamous one-child policy of forced abortions,
00:14:20.020 which crippled Chinese fertility rates in the 1990s and set the stage for the full-blown plunge in the 2010s.
00:14:26.880 This was part of the Great Leap Forward, in which Chairman Mao killed many of his inner-party rivals.
00:14:33.160 The post-one-child birth shock produced the kind of population decline that usually follows a devastating war or a plague.
00:14:41.400 With less than half as many babies in 2025 as in 2016, China's working-age manpower is set on a crash course in this generation ahead. 0.67
00:14:51.100 We'll see it already. There's already very little Beijing can do about it to alter this trajectory, according to the analysis that I read.
00:14:57.220 The Chinese Communist government is still trying to correct demographic decline through programs that subsidize the high cost of having children.
00:15:04.420 Last week, for example, the Chinese Communist Party and the Chinese State Council, roughly equivalent to a presidential cabinet,
00:15:11.120 recommended building a fertility-friendly society with more financial support for maternity care, preschool care, and, of course, school tuition.
00:15:20.100 The state council, the Chinese state council, also suggested equalizing services for rural Chinese to move to big cities
00:15:27.140 because the current household registration system bars them from some of the benefits that native city dwellers insist on.
00:15:34.520 It's certainly an idea, a key story to keep your eye on.
00:15:37.480 Make no mistake about it.
00:15:38.780 The great danger to our country is not Russia. 0.99
00:15:41.920 It is China. 0.64
00:15:43.520 I always thought Richard Nixon got a bum rap for this.
00:15:45.740 people say, oh, it's Nixon's fault because he identified, he, pardon me, he independently
00:15:52.140 sought to recognize China. But at the time that Nixon recognized China, China was a dirt poor,
00:15:58.340 backward agrarian society where few people had indoor toilets or plumbing and there was no
00:16:03.320 electricity in the rural areas. There was no way for Richard Nixon to look 30 years into the future
00:16:09.180 to see that President Bill Clinton and later George W. Bush
00:16:13.400 would give the Chinese most favored nation trading status,
00:16:17.280 which is what made them the economic and military superpower 0.70
00:16:21.120 and threat to the United States that they are today.
00:16:23.680 I'm Roger Stone.
00:16:24.680 We'll be right back with more of the Stone Cold Truth

00:16:51.180 political minds roger stone was persecuted people forget he's actually a brilliant brilliant
00:16:55.960 political analyst now get in the zone it's the stone zone here's roger stone welcome back into
00:17:03.920 the stone zone well president trump's bet that the united states could squeeze far more power
00:17:08.940 out of the nuclear plants the country already has, got a $5 billion boost this week, enough
00:17:13.980 to light more than 930,000 homes without breaking ground on a single new nuclear reactor.
00:17:19.980 The Energy Department is accelerating President Trump's American nuclear renaissance and unlocking
00:17:24.920 the full potential of our nation's nuclear capacity, according to Energy Secretary Chris
00:17:30.400 Wright when he said in announcing the new program.
00:17:33.100 He called uprates yet another example of the common sense energy addition policies of the
00:17:38.040 Trump administration is embracing. The conditional loan from the Energy Department's Office of Energy
00:17:42.300 Dominance Financing will fund uprates and modernization of eight Constellation energy
00:17:47.480 plants in Illinois, Maryland, and Pennsylvania, adding nearly 1.1 gigabytes, gigawatts, pardon me,
00:17:54.340 to the grid and supporting more than 10,000 project jobs. Wright made the announcement
00:17:59.580 Tuesday at Constellation's Byron Generating Station in Illinois. The deal advances President
00:18:05.420 Trump's May 2025 executive order, reinvigorating the national industrial base, the nuclear
00:18:10.900 industrial base, which set a goal of five gigawatts of new output from existing reactors.
00:18:16.900 The department said 94% of that target has now been identified through the Uprise program.
00:18:22.400 It follows a $4.2 billion commitment to Vistra and a $1 billion loan to restart Pennsylvania's
00:18:28.820 Crane Clean Energy Center, formerly known as Three Mile Island Unit 1.
00:18:33.380 In total, the administration has conditionally approved nearly $30 billion for the nuclear reactor.
00:18:40.860 The loan is not final. Constellation must still meet technical, legal, environmental, and financial conditions before money flows.
00:18:47.820 But the president is realistic about the obstacles to building new nuclear plants, although that does make the most sense.
00:18:53.700 And therefore, he is determined to squeeze more energy out of the plants we already have.
00:18:58.920 Meanwhile, my good friend, investigative journalist James O'Keefe, has been charged in Minnesota over a video he made earlier this year in which he highlighted a state law that permits one registered voter to vouch for up to eight others who lacked ID.
00:19:11.820 James O'Keefe and Cam Higbee, both investigative journalists, are accused of trying to sow doubt in the state's voting system after sharing a video that shows them in Islamic attire and using fake accents while interacting with poll workers.
00:19:25.220 Prosecutors alleged the pair misrepresented their identities by giving election judges the names of registered voters in the precinct without those voters' knowledge or permission.
00:19:32.620 The investigation was conducted to expose vulnerabilities in the Minnesota voting system, which affects all Americans, Higby said.
00:19:39.660 I never voted, I never signed an affidavit, and I never violated the law.
00:19:43.020 It's important to note that O'Keefe didn't vote either, so neither of them actually cast a false vote.
00:19:47.380 All they did was demonstrate on a video how easy it would be to do so.
00:19:50.760 They showed up in these strange outfits.
00:19:53.200 They claimed to be people they weren't.
00:19:54.460 They were prepared to vouch for others, and the election officials were ready to let both of them vote.
00:20:00.760 The video saw O'Keefe dressed in this Islamic garb alongside Cam Higby.
00:20:06.040 O'Keefe and Higby were charged in connection with the video for allegedly unlawfully voting, which, of course, they didn't do.
00:20:11.840 State bar laws do bar impersonation of registered voters and identity theft, both care of a five-year maximum prison sentence,
00:20:19.900 but since neither one of them actually voted, I don't think they're guilty of any crime
00:20:24.300 other than demonstrating how porous the system is
00:20:26.980 and how easy it would be to vote illegally in the state of Minnesota.
00:20:31.500 O'Keefe has been known for these undercover videos
00:20:33.660 from which he convinces people who he secretly films to reveal incredible political biases
00:20:37.680 and a number of illegal practices.
00:20:39.900 He previously led Project Veritas, was arrested in a board dispute,
00:20:43.860 formed O'Keefe Media, has gone on to great, great higher heights.
00:20:47.040 I'm Roger Stone. We'll be right back with more political news.
00:20:49.900 On the other side.
00:20:52.000 The Stone Zone.
00:20:53.540 Entertaining and informative.
00:20:55.660 On the Red Apple Podcast Network.
00:21:07.780 This is The Stone Zone with Roger Stone.
00:21:11.540 Roger Stone, who's a very, very, one of the smartest political minds.
00:21:15.460 Roger Stone was persecuted.
00:21:16.680 People forget he's actually a brilliant, brilliant political analyst.
00:21:19.600 Now, get in the zone. It's the Stone Zone. Here's Roger Stone.
00:21:25.580 Welcome back into the Stone Zone.
00:21:27.980 The New York Times has reported that the Obama-era Justice Department and Department of Homeland Security
00:21:33.420 actually investigated in the summer of 2016 and found some evidence that Congresswoman Ilhan Omar's 2009 marriage to Ahmed Nur Sed Elmi
00:21:43.960 was fraudulent and intended to help him obtain a green card.
00:21:47.700 The inquiry stalled allegedly because of a five-year statute of limitations on marriage-based immigration fraud.
00:21:54.680 You remember last week the outrage of CNN and others on the left
00:21:58.560 when the home of Congresswoman Ilhan Omar was raided at 6 o'clock in the morning
00:22:03.600 as part of the ongoing investigation into whether she falsified the facts regarding her own background
00:22:09.340 in order to enter the country illegally and to obtain citizenship.
00:22:13.760 Funny, those people weren't that upset when 29 heavily armed FBI agents brandishing fully automatic assault weapons and arriving in 17 armored vehicles surrounded my home at 6 o'clock in the morning to arrest me for the non-violent first-time crime of allegedly lying to Congress under oath about a Russian collusion that never actually took place.
00:22:36.400 It should come as no surprise to anyone that the Obama regime looked the other way
00:22:41.340 and let Omar flout the law, coming up with a novel excuse to do so.
00:22:46.140 Omar entered Congress, remained there while questions about the marriage
00:22:49.640 and related immigration paperwork persisted.
00:22:52.880 Even the New York Times has come forth to admit that Obama had the evidence all along.
00:22:58.080 Before President Trump, Somalis were considered the model Americans with political class of Minnesota, 0.56
00:23:02.840 but some established Republicans, genuflecting belief in them, even them. 0.88
00:23:07.620 But now they're widely known as scammers and low-IQ con artists who set up for deportation.
00:23:13.080 Omar will be the most high-profile among them.
00:23:15.220 There are a number of questions about how she went from being worth virtually nothing
00:23:18.380 to being worth millions of dollars on her federally filed income requirement,
00:23:23.220 those forms required of a member of Congress.

00:24:47.780 fight.
00:24:48.780 8 out of 10 wish kids said their wish gave them the strength to fight their critical
00:24:52.900 illness.
00:24:53.900 Wishes are medicine.
00:24:55.300 Donate today. Make-A-Wish Canada has been granting wishes for kids living with critical illnesses
00:25:00.660 for over 40 years. Eight out of ten wish kids said their wish gave them the strength to fight
00:25:07.260 their critical illness. Wishes are medicine. Donate today. Meanwhile, the Department of Homeland
00:25:12.820 Security records show large-scale surveillance of lecturing activists in Minnesota. A transparent
00:25:18.320 organization and defense attorneys have obtained Department of Homeland Security records indicating
00:25:23.280 that Homeland Security Investigations conducted extensive monitoring of left-wing activist groups
00:25:28.020 in Minnesota under operations including Project Whipple Shield and Operation Puppet Master.
00:25:33.500 The effort, authorized under National Security Presidential Memorandum 7,
00:25:38.420 signed by President Donald Trump in September 2025,
00:25:41.700 immediately after the assassination of my good friend Charlie Kirk,
00:25:44.780 involved roughly 120 agents, including 11 undercovers.
00:25:49.220 Agents infiltrated groups attended trainings and marches, monitored signal chats, used Reaper drones, and photographed vehicles and individuals.
00:25:59.000 One undercover, using the handle peanut butter jelly, attended ICE watch sessions.
00:26:04.780 Prosecutors say the targets organized to impede ICE during Operation Metro Surge.
00:26:10.080 Defense lawyers argue the charges criminalize lawful protests.
00:26:13.700 The records detail agents sitting in on meetings of the Sunrise Movement and the Party for Socialism and Liberation.
00:26:20.620 A Department of Homeland Security spokesman declined to comment on specific methods.
00:26:25.220 The scale of the operation involving undercover presence inside activist networks
00:26:29.620 and the use of advanced surveillance tools is exactly the kind of activity that is needed to get to the center of Antifa terrorism and violence.
00:26:37.320 This shows that the Trump administration is serious about rooting out left-wing terrorism.
00:26:42.080 They're no longer getting a free pass just because it's politically correct.
00:26:46.240 They have lost their institutional support.
00:26:48.100 They have the option of ceasing their subversive anti-American activity or facing the consequences.
00:26:53.740 Meanwhile, the Federal Reserve held its benchmark interest rate steady on Wednesday.
00:26:58.020 The decision keeps federal funds rated at a range between 3.75% and 4%, the range set at its previous meeting in September.
00:27:05.800 The great irony here, the great tragedy is that in Donald Trump's first year as president, when the inflation rate and the unemployment rate both merited a much deeper cut in the Fed's interest rates, Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Tulate Powell, strictly for political reasons, refused to cut interest rates.
00:27:23.600 By the way, Powell was not trained as an economist. He was an attorney.
00:27:27.160 He remains as a member of the Fed board after his chairmanship, the first chairman, other than one during the war who's ever done so.
00:27:35.120 But unfortunately, now you have a different economic picture.
00:27:38.400 Economic activity is expanding at a strong pace.
00:27:41.400 While uncertainty remains elevated, only in part to the geopolitical developments, the war,
00:27:46.580 domestic spending has been resilient.
00:27:48.860 Productivity growth is strong, and the capital investment is robust.
00:27:52.300 Job gains have kept pace with the workforce, and the unemployment rate has changed little,
00:27:56.420 the Fed said in a statement at the conclusion of its two-day meeting.
00:28:00.420 Inflation remains elevated.
00:28:01.920 Yes, but the last time I saw it was around 3.4%, nowhere near the 9% inflation rate we had under the heights of Joe Biden.
00:28:10.580 Two Federal Reserve officials, Governor Lisa Cook, who's still fighting in court whether she could be removed from the Fed based on mortgage fraud,
00:28:19.980 and Cleveland Fed President Beth Hammock, dissented from the decision,
00:28:24.520 preferring to raise the target rate for a federal funds rate by one quarter of a percentage point.
00:28:29.900 That would have had, of course, a chilling effect on the economy.
00:28:34.160 At a press conference on Wednesday, Federal Chair Kevin Warsh, a Trump appointee, announced a significant change to the Fed's meetings.
00:28:41.680 So beginning next year, one of the Federal Reserve's eight meetings would be focused on broader economic questions and monetary strategy rather than directly considering the Fed's policy rates.
00:28:52.440 After that meeting, the Fed would not issue a post-meeting statement.
00:28:55.940 Bors said at the time, added that he expects the strategy meetings will expand to twice a year in
00:29:02.080 2028. The September increase was the first increase in three years, the most marked a
00:29:07.520 reversal of the Fed's previous rounds of cuts in late 24 and 25, moves that were spurred by
00:29:13.560 concerns among Federal Reserve officials that the economy was slowing and the labor market was
00:29:17.880 weakening. The increase indicated that Fed officials are now confident in the resilience
00:29:22.380 of the economy and view stubborn inflation as a greater risk. The Fed says it targets two percent
00:29:27.860 inflation. In the pandemic era, inflation consistently undershot that target. Since March
00:29:33.300 of 2021, inflation has run above the target. The personal consumption expenditures price index,
00:29:39.780 the gauge the Fed prefers to measure inflation, was at 3.4 percent in August, the latest month
00:29:46.040 for which the index has been released. It's a number I referred to earlier. It rose by the same
00:29:50.440 amount in July, which was down from the June reading of 3.5 percent, and the May reading of
00:29:55.540 3.8 percent. September reading is due out this Thursday. Higher gasoline prices have pushed up
00:30:01.020 inflation this year. In recent months, however, inflationary pressures have begun to show up in
00:30:05.580 a broader swath of prices, raising concerns inflation might be becoming more entrenched.
00:30:10.900 Meanwhile, Senator Lisa Murkowski, a Republican, endorsed a Democrat in Alaska's governor's race,
00:30:17.000 saying that he'll be more bipartisan. Republican U.S. Senator Lisa Murkowski, while objecting to
00:30:23.120 the dirty trick in which the Democrats recruited some guy named Dan Sullivan to run against
00:30:28.480 incumbent Republican Senator Dan Sullivan, has at the same time endorsed Democrat Jonathan
00:30:34.340 Kreese-Tomkin in the Alaska governor's race. In a statement posted on Kreese-Tomkin's website,
00:30:40.360 Murkowski explained her surprising choice to endorse a Democrat over the three Republicans 0.60
00:30:45.040 running in the four-way race. Remember, they have ranked choice voting in which all candidates,
00:30:49.960 regardless of party, run in one election, saying the Democrat candidate would be hamstrung by
00:30:55.280 partisan divisions. Jonathan understands that government requires listening to people
00:30:59.940 with different perspectives and finding common ground to solve problems for all of us. Alaska
00:31:05.060 needs a serious conversation about our fiscal future as well as a focus on the cost of energy
00:31:10.080 and growing our economy.
00:31:12.120 I believe Jonathan is committed to working towards solutions
00:31:14.620 that serve all Alaskans regardless of power.
00:31:17.820 Polls show that Kreese Tompkins has a lead 0.94
00:31:20.160 over the Republican opponents in the race.
00:31:22.460 It's not the first time, by the way,
00:31:23.720 that Murkowski's endorsement crossed party lines.
00:31:26.620 She endorsed Democrat Mary Peltola in 2024 0.70
00:31:29.460 in her bid for re-election to the U.S. House,
00:31:31.680 but she endorsed Republican Dan Sullivan
00:31:33.520 in his re-election campaign this year over Peltola,
00:31:37.080 who's running against him.
00:31:38.080 She also only more recently criticized the dirty trick that was exposed by the New York Times in which another Dan Sullivan was recruited to confuse voters in the race.
00:31:48.740 Murkowski is kind of an anomaly.
00:31:51.980 She was appointed to the U.S. Senate by her father, who was the U.S. Senator.
00:31:55.960 He was elected governor.
00:31:57.000 Then he stepped down as governor, leaving a vacancy in the Senate to which he appointed his own daughter.
00:32:01.880 I think you call that nepotism. 0.97
00:32:04.020 Furthermore, she doesn't live in Alaska. 0.97
00:32:05.440 At least she has no particular residence there.
00:32:07.260 and she very rarely visits the state that she represents.
00:32:10.720 She's lived in Washington, D.C. for as long as I've been aware of her,
00:32:13.760 and that's a long time,
00:32:14.940 and she's infamous for literally never being in the state that she claims to represent. 1.00
00:32:18.520 As soon as ranked choice voting is done in Alaska, so will Lisa Murkowski be done. 0.55
00:32:22.800 Ranked choice voting is this convoluted system
00:32:24.820 in which you vote for your first and second choice voters.
00:32:27.900 So, in other words, the candidate who gets the most votes on Election Day
00:32:31.720 is not the candidate, necessarily, who's elected to the Senate.
00:32:36.100 Meanwhile, Kamala Harris, she's back again,
00:32:38.500 urges Democrats not to try impeaching President Donald Trump again
00:32:41.760 if they win Congress in the midterms.
00:32:44.220 Former Vice President Kamala Harris urged congressional Democrats this week
00:32:47.340 not to try to impeach President Donald Trump yet again.
00:32:50.120 In January, if they win back control of both chambers in next month's midterm elections.
00:32:57.820 Several Democrats have toyed with the idea in recent weeks,
00:33:00.880 though House Democrat leadership had been noncommittal on the prospect.
00:33:04.300 White House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries indicating no decision had been made.
00:33:09.740 Now, personally, I think that the Democrats' socialist wing will demand the impeachment of Donald Trump to those who want to take leadership positions.
00:33:19.340 House Republicans, including Speaker Mike Johnson, have warned that Democrats will try to impeach again and remove Trump if they win control of both chambers in November.
00:33:27.920 A member would take a two-thirds vote in the Senate to convict.
00:33:32.000 In other words, the House only passes articles of impeachment, which if they have a Democrat majority, they can do.
00:33:38.300 But then to be convicted in a Senate trial requires two-thirds vote.
00:33:42.360 That is a very, very high bar, one that the Democrats, even if they do impeach Trump in the House, are unlikely to reach.
00:33:49.680 It will, however, have the effect of paralyzing the government so that the president cannot focus on the very important questions facing the country.
00:33:57.700 Harris told an interview on Tuesday that she believes Democrats needed to focus on accountability and ending the Iran war if they return to power in the next election, instead of focusing on a third Trump impeachment.
00:34:10.900 I think that going in the direction of impeachment is not a good idea, just to be honest with you, Harris said.
00:34:15.840 Just because we have limited resources and time, I think the energy and the resources need to be put into accountability rather than be put into investigations.
00:34:24.920 That's where the time should be spent, she continued.
00:34:27.700 Remember, I was in the Senate for the last go-round, and the votes were not there, so that's how I feel.
00:34:32.240 But also, I think after the election, we all have to just agree that our attitude has to be to get stuff done.
00:34:37.780 The president was, of course, impeached by the House twice in his first term, but that's the only charge.
00:34:42.620 The impeachment is a charge. That doesn't remove you from office.
00:34:45.760 He was acquitted in two Senate trials.
00:34:48.140 It seems that Kamala Harris is starting to wise up. 0.93
00:34:50.180 She's telling Democrats openly to hide their true attentions if elected.
00:34:54.040 I've said it before, and I'll say it again.
00:34:55.700 If elected Democrats don't plan to fix health care, they have no plans for lower costs.
00:35:00.640 They have no policy plan to bring down gas prices or to build more affordable housing or grand schemes to bring down inflation.
00:35:07.800 The only thing America will get if Democrats are elected 26 are more baseless, fruitless, wasteful, and illegal investigations
00:35:14.600 designed to totally obscure the facts, attack the Democrats' chief political opposition,
00:35:19.560 and destroy the man they cannot get over their hatred for, President Donald Trump.
00:35:24.700 Meanwhile, the New York Times, among others, admitted this week that the Obama-era Department of Justice and Homeland Security
00:35:30.900 had found evidence, as I said earlier, that Ilhan Omar married her own brother in order to get a green card.
00:35:38.940 The question now was one of accountability.
00:35:42.220 So, for example, when Nancy Pelosi learned that Eric Swalwell,
00:35:46.180 Congressman of California at that time, member of the House Intelligence Committee, had engaged in a sexual affair with a communist Chinese spy, Fang Fang, he was not removed from the committee, a committee in which he still had full access to classified documents.
00:36:05.060 That's a shocking decision by the leadership, but that's Nancy Pelosi for you.
00:36:11.160 Ultimately, of course, Swalwell would be brought down not by that scandal,
00:36:15.540 but by the scandal that engulfed him when he tried to run for governor.
00:36:20.040 He was essentially first snagged in a residence schedule because under California law,
00:36:27.460 you're required to live in the state, to have a domicile in the state to run for governor.
00:36:32.420 But the home that Swalwell owned was in Washington, D.C.,
00:36:35.760 and he declared on those documents to be a D.C. resident.
00:36:39.280 Nonetheless, the California Supreme Court, dominated by Democrats,
00:36:43.560 ruled that Swalwell was still eligible to be a candidate for governor.
00:36:47.700 His candidacy crashed and burned, however, over multiple charges
00:36:52.220 by multiple women of both sexual assault and sexual harassment.
00:36:56.380 What I really didn't understand is when he left the House
00:36:58.760 and became a candidate for governor,
00:37:00.680 why he took on the style tips from Steve Bannon.
00:37:03.960 For some reason, he stopped bathing, he stopped shaving,
00:37:06.480 he stopped washing his hair, he seemed to stop washing his clothes.
00:37:09.920 I guess he thinks that the Wino degenerate look 0.84
00:37:13.880 has some constituency in the Democrat primary,
00:37:17.200 but he never got to the Democrat primary.
00:37:19.320 His candidacy crashed and burned, and he withdrew.
00:37:24.100 He also briefly ran for president.
00:37:26.120 Some people may not remember that.
00:37:27.960 His campaign was chaired by Ruben Gallego,
00:37:30.680 a fellow reprobate, a senator from Arizona,
00:37:34.500 who now has been charged with the same exact thing,
00:37:37.520 sexual harassment.
00:37:39.180 Gallego's response to that?
00:37:40.540 Well, he's thinking about running for president again.
00:37:42.760 That's it for the Democrats.
00:37:44.140 I'm Roger Stone.

00:38:29.040 a Democrat Senate nominee, Angie Nixon, won an upset victory over one of the Vindman brothers,
00:38:36.020 remember them from the Ukrainian impeachment, to become the Democrat nominee.
00:38:40.660 Nixon, who in this case is clearly not the one, 0.68
00:38:43.600 struggled to identify whether she was a capitalist or a socialist during an interview Friday,
00:38:48.440 drawing sharp criticism from her Republican opponent, Senator Ashley Moody.
00:38:52.800 Moody was the state attorney general, was appointed to the Senate seat by Governor Ron DeSantis
00:38:58.340 after the seat was vacated by Marco Rubio,
00:39:01.560 who became one of the greatest secretaries of state in American history.
00:39:05.760 Now, Moody and Nixon go into the final weeks of the Florida Senate race.
00:39:10.140 In the same week, in yet another interview,
00:39:13.640 Nixon could not determine whether the government of Cuba was a dictatorship or not,
00:39:20.600 which seemed pretty clear to me.
00:39:22.180 It was Politico's Dasha Burns who confronted the nominee
00:39:25.960 over her membership in the Democrat Socialists of America,
00:39:29.260 knowing she had previously identified herself as a capitalist
00:39:31.600 despite joining a socialist organization.
00:39:34.560 When Burns, who's a pretty good reporter,
00:39:36.300 pressed Nixon to explain how she personally identified,
00:39:38.840 the Jacksonville Democrat repeatedly expressed uncertainly,
00:39:42.160 I don't know, I don't know, like I don't know,
00:39:44.520 said Burns on the conversation.
00:39:46.440 She was later caught on a rap video 0.97
00:39:48.280 dancing with a bunch of rappers in a song
00:39:50.260 that centered around murder.
00:39:51.800 It's a very strange candidate.
00:39:53.720 I identify, she said, as Angie Nixon, as a black woman who is a former single mom who wants to make sure that no one has to struggle the way I struggled when I was a single mom.
00:40:03.360 Well, she clearly knows how to stick to message.
00:40:06.580 This race is not going to be close in the final analysis, although overall, the Democrats are putting up a spirited fight.
00:40:14.380 It's interesting that when President Donald Trump flew to Fort Myers, Florida, for a rally for Republican gubernatorial candidate Byron Donalds,
00:40:22.680 Governor Ron DeSantis went to the Fort Myers airport to greet the president, but then did not show up at the rally, which I think is a gigantic mistake.
00:40:33.960 Republicans have been dogged by a scandal, however.
00:40:36.720 This is the Hope Foundation scandal in which Governor Ron DeSantis and his wife Casey took $10 million from Medicare,
00:40:45.340 money that was earmarked for the poor, the elderly, and the handicapped,
00:40:49.660 and moved it to a dark money fund that they used to fight against a statewide constitutional amendment to legalize marijuana.
00:40:59.120 Those who defend the DeSantis' say that the money was part of a fine of a company that had been caught overcharging Medicare.
00:41:08.400 I say that it was still taxpayer funds.
00:41:10.460 The DeSantis' money was moved by their chief of staff, James Uthmeyer, later appointed attorney general.
00:41:17.880 And it was actually Moody who, as attorney general, said that this was legal.
00:41:21.840 I think she was wrong about that.
00:41:23.640 They returned the money to avoid state indictment.
00:41:28.240 But the money they returned didn't come from their dark money political fund.
00:41:31.540 It came from Florida taxpayers.
00:41:34.660 Interestingly enough, Byron Donalds, when he's asked about this, refers all questions to Ron DeSantis.
00:41:40.120 DeSantis argues when he's confronted, don't ask me, ask my wife.
00:41:43.640 It's her thing.
00:41:45.060 This is a scandal that I think ended Casey DeSantis' aspirations to be governor.
00:41:50.040 That's what this is really all about.
00:41:51.720 See, the plan was for Casey to follow Ron and then be able to extort money for a 2028.
00:41:57.280 Ron DeSantis' presidential campaign.
00:41:59.720 That won't be the case now.
00:42:01.140 I expect Byron Donald to narrowly win the governorship
00:42:04.340 and go on to be a great conservative governor.
00:42:06.800 He won the Republican primary going away,
00:42:09.300 endorsed by President Donald Trump,
00:42:11.120 and he's run, frankly, a very strong campaign.
00:42:14.260 The Democrat, David Jolly, is a former Republican congressman.
00:42:17.660 That's right.
00:42:18.180 The Democrats had to go to a former Republican to find a nominee.
00:42:23.000 And, of course, he stuck on the ticket with Angie Nixon,
00:42:25.280 which must be somewhat painful.
00:42:27.280 That's the story. Florida's Sunshine State will be very closely watched on election night, but I expect a Republican sweep, although not by huge margin, but I still believe they will hold on.
00:42:38.560 Republicans have increased their standing in the state. Their voter registration now 1.3 million more Republicans than Democrats in the Sunshine State.
00:42:48.020 I'm Roger Stone. You're listening to The Stone Zone. Until tomorrow, God bless you and Godspeed.
00:42:57.280 We'll be right back.
