00:00:30.000 Mr. President, thank you very much for doing this.
00:00:33.060 There is a pause, or seems to be a pause, in the war between the United States and Iran.
00:00:39.360 How do you think this will end? How would you like to see it end?
00:00:45.820 We did not start this war, and we do not want this war to continue in any way.
00:00:53.400 From the very beginning, it was the motto of my administration that I always adhere to, and that was fostering the national unity inside the country, and also fostering peace and tranquility and friendship with the neighboring countries and with the rest of the world.
00:01:14.220 The American President Donald Trump has said that the United States bombed your enrichment facilities because the government of Iran refused to give up its nuclear program, and that there can be no peace until Iran does give up that nuclear program.
00:01:33.000 Would you be willing to give up the nuclear program in exchange for peace?
00:01:37.060 I would like to tell you what has happened, and it was Netanyahu since 1984 has created this false mentality that Iran seeks a nuclear bomb,
00:01:56.340 and it has insinuated that Iran is trying to develop a nuclear bomb in the past, and it has put it in the minds of every U.S. president since then,
00:02:11.740 and to make them believe that we would like to have a nuclear bomb.
00:02:16.800 But the truth is that we have never been after developing a nuclear bomb, not in the past, not presently, or in the future,
00:02:26.800 because this is wrong, and this is in contrast to the religious decree or the fatwa which has been issued by his eminence,
00:02:41.140 the supreme leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and so it is religiously forbidden for us to go after a nuclear bomb.
00:02:51.740 And this was always corroborated thanks to our cooperation with IAEA, because they were always there to verify this,
00:03:05.040 and to substantiate that we have never wanted a nuclear bomb.
00:03:10.100 But unfortunately, this cooperation was disturbed by the unlawful attacks against our nuclear facilities.
00:03:19.800 So you have, according to news reports, withdrawn your cooperation from IAEA, the International Nuclear Irrigatory Agency.
00:03:29.380 And so there's, I suppose, no way for the rest of the world to know how much uranium you're enriching and to what extent, to what percentage it's being enriched.
00:03:40.100 And so is there any way to verify, and would you be willing to allow other nations to verify that you are not building nuclear weapons?
00:03:50.520 Mr. Carson, sir, I would like to draw your attention to the fact that we were right in the middle of holding talks with the United States.
00:04:02.620 And the President of the United States invited us to hold such talks in order to have peace.
00:04:11.440 And we were told during the process of these negotiations and talks that as long as we don't give the permission to Israel, they are not going to attack you.
00:04:25.520 And we were going to have the next round of talks very soon.
00:04:32.780 But in the middle of it, suddenly, Israel torpedoed the negotiating table.
00:04:40.860 We were sitting at the negotiating table when it happened.
00:04:43.820 And by doing this, they totally ruined and destroyed diplomacy.
00:04:50.700 And in order to answer your question with regards to the surveillance or the supervision over our nuclear program,
00:04:59.160 I would like to say that we are ready to hold talks over it.
00:05:03.160 We have never been the party that has run away from verification.
00:05:10.100 We stand ready to have these supervisions.
00:05:15.640 But unfortunately, as a result of the United States unlawful attacks against our nuclear centers and installations,
00:05:24.180 many of the pieces of equipment and the facilities there have been severely damaged.
00:05:30.240 Therefore, we don't have any access to them.
00:05:32.860 We cannot we cannot see and unless this access is going to be back there again,
00:05:41.620 we have to wait for it and to see what happens and how much they have been damaged so that we can go for the supervision.
00:05:48.820 There have been news reports that you believe your government believes that the IAEA was spying on the government of Iran and passing information to Israel.
00:06:00.640 Do you believe that and if so, do you have evidence that that's true, that the world could see?
00:06:08.000 I would like to tell you that we were, yes, somehow pessimistic about the activities of the IAEA
00:06:15.140 because somehow we realized that Israel could get information from the inspections which were carried out by the IAEA,
00:06:25.960 but it never prevented the IAEA from carrying out their activities inside Iran
00:06:33.000 and they had full access to supervise and to have surveillance over our nuclear facilities.
00:06:38.760 But there was this lack of trust as a result of the last report by IAEA.
00:06:50.360 The type of the report and the way they prepared the report somehow gave an excuse to the Israeli regime
00:06:58.480 and prepared the ground for their unlawful and unauthorized attack against our nuclear facilities.
00:07:08.280 And even after that, the IAEA failed to condemn these attacks or try to anyway to stop them.
00:07:18.380 And this ran counter to the international law and this resulted in a widespread lack of trust
00:07:28.840 among the Iranians, Iranian legislators and the public opinion here.
00:07:34.420 You've suggested that you were anxious to resolve your conflicts with the United States through diplomacy
00:07:40.780 and that that was derailed by war.
00:07:43.080 Would you be willing to restart diplomacy?
00:07:45.540 And could you tell us in general but precise terms the kind of deal you would be willing to accept?
00:07:51.960 You see, I am of the belief that we could very much easily resolve our differences and conflicts
00:08:03.900 with the United States through dialogue and talks.
00:08:09.380 And, you know, the international law could serve as the framework or the basis for a deal
00:08:18.300 in which the rights of all nations, Iranian nation, would be respected.
00:08:26.980 But, unfortunately, it was Netanyahu that destroyed this diplomacy and these efforts, diplomatic efforts.
00:08:40.120 We have always, we never wanted anything beyond respect for our rights, rightful rights,
00:08:49.180 enshrined in international law.
00:08:52.240 But, as I said, it was Netanyahu that wanted, that brought unrest to our region
00:08:58.780 and is fomenting unrest and tensions in the region.
00:09:05.240 As I have always said, we have always been after peace.
00:09:10.540 It has been my motto.
00:09:11.960 It has been my belief.
00:09:13.340 It has been my heartfelt opinion that we need to live in peace and harmony
00:09:21.060 during this short and limited time granted to us by God Almighty
00:09:27.340 to live in peace and tranquility with everybody.
00:09:30.740 And everybody in the world should live like that.
00:09:33.560 But I would also like, on the other hand, to reiterate that our people are capable enough
00:09:41.120 to defend themselves in self-defense during any kind of attack.
00:09:47.480 And I believe that the United States president can very well guide the region and the world
00:09:56.020 to peace and tranquility or, on the other hand, to lead it to forever wars.
00:10:05.600 Do you have plans to re-enter negotiations with the United States,
00:10:12.240 with Envoy Steve Witkoff or anyone else?
00:10:15.700 And if not, what do you think will happen?
00:10:18.560 We see no problem in re-entering the negotiations.
00:10:28.820 But before that, I have to remind you that because of the atrocities by the Zionist regime, 0.93
00:10:37.020 by Israel, not just against my country, but in the whole region,
00:10:41.160 we are now facing a crisis that the people are facing a crisis that we need to put it behind ourselves.
00:10:51.020 Our commanders were off-duty.
00:10:54.220 They were spending the night at their homes with their families, but they were killed.
00:11:00.320 And this is considered a war crime, according to the international law,
00:11:07.300 because they were off-duty, as I said.
00:11:09.920 Or our scientists were also killed and assassinated, along with their families and their wives and their children.
00:11:19.280 They were also killed.
00:11:21.540 Pregnant women, children, they were killed in the atrocities,
00:11:27.160 in the attacks of the Israeli regime.
00:11:30.260 Just because they wanted to kill one single person,
00:11:34.620 they had to demolish and destroy a whole building.
00:11:39.560 And as a result of this, a lot of innocent people were killed.
00:11:44.460 A lot of people were killed.
00:11:46.440 And as I said, there is this crisis that we have to put it behind ourselves.
00:11:53.480 And there is a condition.
00:11:56.380 There is a provision for the restarting the talks.
00:12:02.760 How are we going to trust the United States again?
00:12:07.600 We re-enter the negotiations.
00:12:10.800 Then how can we know for sure that in the middle of the talks,
00:12:18.920 the Israeli regime will not be given the permission again to attack us?
00:12:24.720 Do you believe the Israeli government tried to assassinate you?
00:12:30.500 They did try, yes.
00:12:32.940 And they acted accordingly, but they failed.
00:12:38.760 And as a true believer, I believe that it is in the hands of the God Almighty
00:12:45.200 to determine when a person will die or will not die.
00:12:51.980 If he wills, the God Almighty wills,
00:12:55.460 then you can die when you are walking freely in the streets.
00:12:58.920 But I would like to tell you that I am not afraid of sacrificing myself
00:13:06.300 in defense of my country and in safeguarding and defending the sovereignty,
00:13:15.620 the freedom and the independence of my country.
00:13:19.140 I am willing to give my life, to give blood for that.
00:13:23.600 And nobody here, I mean, none of the government officials is afraid
00:13:29.020 of losing their lives in line of defense.
00:13:34.260 But will it bring security to the region?
00:13:38.580 I mean, bloodshed, more bloodshed, assassination, killing others.
00:13:43.020 Will it bring peace and tranquility and stability to the region?
00:13:47.980 With respect, can you tell us how you know that you were an assassination target?
00:13:53.380 A week and a half ago, I don't believe I've seen that confirmed anywhere.
00:13:58.800 How are you certain they tried to kill you?
00:14:03.020 Of course, it was not the U.S. that was behind the attempt on my life.
00:14:12.680 It was Israel.
00:14:14.820 I was in a meeting.
00:14:17.020 We were discussing the ways to move forward.
00:14:22.260 But thanks to the intelligence by the spies that they had,
00:14:26.840 they tried to bombard the area that we were holding that meeting,
00:14:34.820 in which we were holding that meeting.
00:14:37.920 But as I told you before, it is God who wills when a person will die and give up his life.
00:14:46.720 And once again, I would like to emphasize that we are not afraid of martyrdom.
00:14:53.800 We are not afraid of sacrificing our lives for our people, for our independence.
00:14:59.460 And I would like to tell you that this imposed war by the Israeli regime resulted in one thing, 0.62
00:15:06.460 and that was more solidarity and unity amongst the Iranian people.
00:15:12.220 And it proved yet once again that the Iranian people, 0.99
00:15:17.420 no matter where they are in the whole wide world,
00:15:20.520 they do care about their country, about the sovereignty and the territorial integrity of their motherland.
00:15:26.520 And as I said, this brought about more solidarity and it united us further,
00:15:33.980 thanks to this act of aggression by the Israeli regime.
00:15:38.320 My proposal is that the U.S. administration should refrain from getting involved in a war that is not,
00:15:48.780 it's war, that is not America's war, it is Netanyahu's war that is having its devilish machinations for the whole region. 0.57
00:16:01.680 It has its own agenda.
00:16:03.560 He has its own agenda, Netanyahu, I mean, inhuman agenda.
00:16:07.920 And that is having forever wars.
00:16:11.080 Wars that go on and on and on.
00:16:14.600 And this is my proposal to the United States, not to be fooled by Netanyahu, 0.64
00:16:19.600 not to be dragged into this kind of war.
00:16:25.060 Many Americans are afraid of Iran.
00:16:27.980 You say you're not afraid, but Americans are afraid of Iran.
00:16:30.920 And they believe that Iran would like to strike the United States with a nuclear weapon.
00:16:35.620 They see video of Iranians saying death to America, describing our country as the great Satan.
00:16:42.200 What is your opinion of that?
00:16:46.340 Should we be afraid of Iran?
00:16:48.000 I believe that this is a very wrong impression that anybody might have of Iran or the Iranians.
00:17:01.400 I would like to remind you that Iran has never invaded another country in the last 200 years.
00:17:09.840 When they say death to the United States, it doesn't mean death to...
00:17:14.400 They don't mean death to the people of the United States or even to the officials of the United States.
00:17:23.440 They mean death to crime, death to killing and carnage, death to supporting, killing others, death to insecurity and instability.
00:17:37.280 This is...
00:17:37.920 Have you ever heard that an Iranian killing an American? 1.00
00:17:43.880 Have you ever heard that?
00:17:45.100 Or a terrorist that was Iranian and he carried out a terrorist attack against the Americans? 0.78
00:17:51.880 No, it was your president who confessed that the Americans created the ISIS in our region.
00:18:00.680 And they were responsible for this wrong image that is portrayed of religion or the Muslims in the world. 0.97
00:18:11.280 And once again, I would like to tell you and remind you that this is not death to the American people or to the officials.
00:18:19.680 Death to crimes and atrocities, to bullying, to the use of force.
00:18:26.140 And anybody who would like to become an accomplice in the crimes perpetrated by others.
00:18:34.100 Two Iranian ayatollahs have issued fatwas against Donald Trump.
00:18:39.540 What does that mean exactly and what do you think of it?
00:18:43.040 To the best of my knowledge, they have not issued decrees or fatwas against any individual or against Donald Trump.
00:18:54.920 And first off, it has nothing to do with the Iranian government or to his eminence, the supreme leader of Iran.
00:19:03.840 And what they actually meant by the fatwas was in condemnation of an insult to a religion or religious personalities.
00:19:15.600 And they were actually saying that this is deplorable, this is unacceptable.
00:19:20.620 So it was not directed towards the U.S. president or any other individual.
00:19:27.700 And there might be people with their own ideas and opinions.
00:19:33.880 But I can assure you that the meaning of this fatwa should not be construed or considered as a threat against an individual.
00:19:43.340 Has Iran ever backed an assassination attempt against Donald Trump?
00:19:48.020 This is actually what Netanyahu is trying to insinuate and to make your people or the president of your country to believe.
00:20:00.060 But this is wrong because Netanyahu, as I said, has its own agenda.
00:20:04.840 It wants to drag the U.S. into forever wars, as I said, and to bring more insecurity, instability and unrest to the whole region.
00:20:14.860 There are a number, some large number of Iranian nationals living in the United States.
00:20:22.880 Some have said they are, quote, sleeper cells.
00:20:26.200 They are terrorists who are acting at the command of your government.
00:20:31.960 Would you right now make a statement to Iranian citizens living in the United States not to commit acts of violence in the United States? 0.67
00:20:40.280 You see, these things you're telling me, this is the first time I'm hearing them from you or from anybody.
00:20:51.240 You know, Iranians are known for their knowledge, for their science, for their courtesy, for being civilized.
00:20:59.000 Have you seen otherwise from them?
00:21:02.120 Any other kind of behavior from them or any violent behavior?
00:21:06.600 Has anybody ever seen anything from them?
00:21:08.900 As I said, this is what Israel is trying to put into your minds.
00:21:16.040 You're propagating that Iranians might be capable of doing such a thing. 1.00
00:21:20.480 But this is totally untrue because by nature, Iranians are pro-peace and tranquility.
00:21:27.400 And they're trying to somehow impact the minds of the decision makers and the people of the United States and to scare them into getting involved in a war in my region
00:21:48.940 It wasn't that long ago, it was during the revolutionary period in Iran that Iran had relations with Israel and commercial relations with Israel and reputedly bought weapons from Israel.
00:22:14.120 What happened?
00:22:15.120 What happened?
00:22:15.880 How did that change?
00:22:17.480 Who changed it and why, that relationship?
00:22:19.620 You know, Israel itself is to blame because just look at what they have been doing in the last couple of years in Palestine and Gaza. 0.92
00:22:32.960 What Netanyahu has been doing, killing women and children, bombing schools and hospitals and civilian and residential areas.
00:22:46.740 This is nothing short of a full-scale genocide there.
00:22:51.960 They have blocked the entry of food and medicine, any kind of humanitarian relief to Gaza.
00:23:02.080 So this has adversely impacted the way my country and the whole region looks at Israel.
00:23:11.860 And this, I mean, their own behavior and their own actions are to blame because this is unacceptable what they have been doing in my region.
00:23:20.640 And as far as I know, we have never received any kind of weapon from Israel.
00:23:29.160 And I would like to tell you, even at that time, we did not want to have weapons.
00:23:33.580 We did not want to have wars.
00:23:35.160 We did not want to fight the Iraqis. 1.00
00:23:37.600 It was the war that was imposed on us.
00:23:41.020 And just like the way that this war was imposed on us by the Israeli regime, we did not attack Israel.
00:23:53.280 They attacked us.
00:23:54.360 Can you imagine at the end of the diplomatic exchange with the United States a world in which American companies invest again in Iran, sanctions are lifted, there is peace in the region?
00:24:10.060 Is that your goal?
00:24:11.060 And do you think it's possible?
00:24:12.400 You know, from the very beginning of my administration, I first tried to have the domestic solidarity and unity, further unity amongst Iranian people.
00:24:28.760 Then we tried to have better relations with our neighbors, neighboring countries of Iran.
00:24:36.720 And then I had this talk with his eminence, the Supreme Leader of Iran, and during which his eminence emphasized that there is no limitation.
00:24:47.140 And there is nothing preventing the U.S. investors to come to Iran and to make investments in Iran, even presently.
00:25:01.540 And there has never been any limitation, anything barring them from coming into Iran.
00:25:08.800 And this is the belief of the Supreme Leader of Iran.
00:25:11.620 But once again, I would like to tell you that it is Israel that does not want such things to happen in the region.
00:25:20.420 Israel does not want to see peace and tranquility in the region.
00:25:26.720 But I would like to once again repeat that the United States President, Mr. Trump, he is capable enough to guide the region towards the peace and a brighter future
00:25:39.440 and put Israel in its place or get into a pit, an endless pit or a swamp. 0.95
00:25:50.240 And that is a war that Netanyahu wants the United States or the U.S. President to be dragged into.
00:25:57.420 So it is up to the United States President to choose which path that I told you about.
00:26:06.140 And as I told you, there is nothing preventing the commercial or industrial or economic activities by the U.S. business people and investors.
00:26:21.180 And of course, if there was a limitation, it was caused by the U.S. sanctions, not by us.
00:26:29.680 Mr. President, my final question, if we wind up in a in a broader war, could Iran, could you expect assistance from Russia and China, military and economic assistance from your allies, Russia and China?
00:26:46.840 We have always put our trust in God, and in God we trust.
00:26:53.680 And we are capable enough to defend ourselves and to stand on our own two feet and to defend our country, our territorial integrity to the last drop of our blood.
00:27:09.660 As I have said again and again, we don't want wars, we don't want to develop a nuclear weapon.
00:27:18.820 And this false image, this wrong mentality created in the minds of the U.S. decision makers and officials is because of the devilish machinations instigated by Netanyahu and the Israeli regime 0.90
00:27:38.600 and its policies based on war-mongering and the U.S. president should know that another war will only spread more instability in the Middle East.
00:27:55.100 And it is not going to be in the interest or in favor of the U.S. president or the U.S. government to move in that or towards that direction.
00:28:09.820 They instead need to choose peace and tranquility, which is something that I am and my government and my country are after.
00:28:21.340 And I also, as I said, I believe that the U.S. president is powerful enough to put Israel to Netanyahu in their place to contain them 0.65
00:28:33.480 and replace the war-mongering, bloodshed and conflicts with peace and tranquility.
00:28:41.020 Mr. President, thank you for taking the time to explain your perspective. I appreciate it.
00:28:45.480 Thank you very much for providing me with an opportunity to tell you about what is going on in my mind and in my heart.
