00:00:00.140 If you've ever been around politicians or government bureaucrats who are about to deliver
00:00:03.580 a statement or hold a press conference or give a speech, there's a sense in the room
00:00:07.820 from the politician or bureaucrat that like, this is really important.
00:00:11.100 The world is watching.
00:00:13.060 But when you're not in that world, you realize like nobody's watching.
00:00:15.680 Nobody has any idea what the Secretary of the Interior said yesterday, what he's working
00:00:19.520 on, even what his name is.
00:00:21.120 People don't even know what the president says or sends out on his true social or social
00:00:25.140 media or whatever.
00:00:25.940 It's like most of the stuff just kind of goes out into the ether and only Politico reporters
00:00:29.920 read it. But if there's one statement from an administration official that you might have caught
00:00:34.380 because it was a little bit jarring, it was the announcement the other day from the Secretary,
00:00:39.220 well now of war, formerly of defense, Pete Hegseth, that the man responsible for the massacre of
00:00:47.000 military personnel some years ago, Nadal Hassan, is finally going to be executed. He's been under
00:00:51.800 the death penalty for quite some time, and the process is reaching the end of its course. And
00:00:56.420 not only is he going to be executed, the execution is going to be live streamed. You're going to get
00:01:01.360 to watch his killing. Boy, they don't say that kind of thing very often, but Pete Hegseth did
00:01:07.720 say it. Here's exactly what he said. Watch. Major Hassan, this news that came down regarding
00:01:13.640 firing squad, can you tell us about how that came about and what led to that decision process?
00:01:19.660 No brainer. Execution by firing squad. Army major betrays his country, radical Islamist,
00:01:25.240 kills a bunch of Americans at Fort Hood. Of course, we're going to do it at Fort Hood. 0.79
00:01:29.060 We're going to do it on a Thursday. We're going to do it at one o'clock, which is when he did it.
00:01:32.240 And it's going to be soldiers with rifles executing the firing squad. It hadn't been since
00:01:37.080 World War II since we've done that. Well, I kind of like the mentality we had in World War II,
00:01:41.000 which was when? We know what it is. It was a radical Islamist attack in uniform inside the
00:01:46.100 ranks. And so he's going to get a firing squad of soldiers, as it should be. And we'll make sure 0.99
00:01:50.600 that people are able to watch it, that it's public, because people need to understand that
00:01:55.860 there's serious consequences for these types of things.
00:01:59.460 So in general, it's not worth parsing these statements literally because they're not meant
00:02:02.740 to be taken that way, though it is kind of hard not to pause on the phrase, we win, and ask the
00:02:08.360 obvious question, which is, how does executing this guy who's been in prison for more than a
00:02:11.780 decade constitute a win? Win what? Against whom? He's a federal prison inmate who's going to die,
00:02:18.260 okay, you could argue, I guess, the morality of that, but it's hard to see that his death will
00:02:22.820 lead us any closer to a victory over what. But none of this stuff is ever defined. You're not
00:02:27.220 really supposed to think about what it means. But consider for a moment the idea that the U.S.
00:02:33.860 government will publicly execute a prisoner. So there are two levels on which to assess this,
00:02:38.480 the effect on the prisoner and the effect on the rest of us. Now, for the first, it's pretty easy
00:02:42.220 to make the case that this is a bad person. He is, after all, a mass murderer, an admitted mass
00:02:45.940 murderer who murdered 13 people and shot 30-some others at a military base. He was a military
00:02:52.240 officer, so as Pete Hegseth correctly said, this was not simply a murder, it was a betrayal of the
00:02:57.760 country whose uniform he wore. So there's something especially ugly about this crime. He wasn't
00:03:02.420 fighting combatants, he was fighting people just standing in a room who were unarmed. So it's awful
00:03:07.360 what he did, and it's hard not to argue that the guy doesn't deserve to die for that. Well, of course
00:03:11.880 he does. Of course, he took 13 lives and wrecked many others. So on that level, okay. But that's
00:03:20.160 not really the question. There are a couple other questions that aren't getting enough attention.
00:03:26.160 Maybe the most deepest question is, okay, he's guilty and needs to be punished. But as you assess
00:03:31.360 that, ask yourself, am I guilty of anything that I haven't been punished for? Have I gotten away
00:03:35.460 with anything? Not mass murder, of course. But like there is a deep sense on which there aren't
00:03:40.360 a lot of truly innocent people in the world. All of us get away with stuff if we're being honest
00:03:45.440 with ourselves, including the person you just heard say this, and the person he works for as
00:03:49.300 well. And so while you always want justice to be done and wrongdoers to be brought to account,
00:03:53.980 and certainly you want the rest of us to be protected from murderers, you never want
00:03:58.380 self-righteousness to creep into your assessment of other people. Because in the end, you may not
00:04:04.120 be a mass murderer, but are you anyone to judge other people? No. You should always extend grace
00:04:10.120 to everyone, because again, just to restate, all of us, and if we're honest with ourselves,
00:04:14.880 we know this is true, are getting away with things, just a fact. And so it doesn't mean
00:04:20.980 you shouldn't punish murderers. Of course you should. It just means dial back the self-righteousness
00:04:25.580 a little bit, because who are you? Who am I? Who are any of us to stand up and pretend we're God?
00:04:33.020 Well, of course, we're not in a position to do that, and we should never forget that.
00:04:36.040 but the second question which hasn't gotten enough attention is okay he's a bad guy killed all these
00:04:41.800 people we're going to execute him okay but do it in public so we don't do that in this country and
00:04:50.860 we haven't in a very long time 100 years the last public executions in this country were in the 1930s
00:04:56.320 i think the last one was in the late 30s uh in the south for rape it was a real rape the guy
00:05:02.860 deserved it, but it was in public. And they shut down that process. No more public executions.
00:05:08.420 In Europe, same thing. Hasn't been done in about 100 years. In Britain, it hasn't been done
00:05:12.760 in 150 years. And so you have to ask yourself, why? You could say, well, these countries have
00:05:18.500 just grown weak. They don't punish the guilty anymore. Yeah, maybe. Okay. But there's more
00:05:23.900 than that. They continued executing people, but not in public. Why? Because they want to humiliate
00:05:29.300 the condemned? Well, he's dying. No. The reason that we don't conduct public executions is
00:05:34.780 because of the effect of the spectacle on the rest of us. Is it good for your society to have
00:05:40.540 people gawk as a bound man is killed? Whether or not he deserves to be killed, that's a secondary
00:05:45.780 question. Is it good for you to watch it? I don't know. Probably not. Is pornography good for people?
00:05:52.200 Does it enhance your sex life? Probably not. Is watching ugly things inherently virtuous? No.
00:05:57.400 but in the case of public executions we know pretty well because there's a long record of them
00:06:03.020 because they have been a staple of civilization since the very beginning there's a long record of
00:06:09.020 what they do to people who watch them and if you're interested in the topic it's really worth
00:06:14.460 taking 20 minutes and reading an essay really a letter to the editor that Charles Dickens the
00:06:19.540 one of the most perceptive novelists ever read in English wrote in 1849 after seeing a public
00:06:24.580 execution in london without getting boring about the details was a husband and wife a pair of
00:06:30.020 murderers who had killed a guy who was actually the wife's boyfriend at one point stolen his money
00:06:34.980 and buried him under the stones in their kitchen and they got caught and they were executed and
00:06:39.160 no one really argued that they didn't deserve to be punished maybe even executed for what they did
00:06:43.640 dickens didn't make that argument he made and said the argument that doing it in public brought out
00:06:49.140 something ugly and dangerous in the people who watched. It lowered them almost to the level of
00:06:57.900 the people they were watching die. It incited bloodlust in them. So you will hear the argument
00:07:03.200 made by dumb people, and really dumb people are the only people with power right now, so that's
00:07:07.320 the argument you're likely to hear, that this will deter crime. Well, if that's true, do videos of
00:07:14.300 people getting killed deter violence? Have you ever seen a war movie? People get killed in the
00:07:20.440 war movie? Is the lesson of the war movie that if you're at war you could be killed? No, of course
00:07:26.080 not. Every person in the audience takes away the same lesson from any war movie, which is it's good
00:07:32.260 to shoot bad guys. They incite an animal instinct in all of us, and that instinct will never die.
00:07:42.000 We can either encourage it or we can do our best to suppress it
00:07:46.060 or encourage other people to suppress it within themselves.
00:07:49.140 But the last instinct you ever want to encourage,
00:07:51.680 if you want to keep your society orderly and happy,
00:07:54.900 if you want brotherly love to reign,
00:07:56.900 is bloodlust between citizens.
00:08:00.020 Now, again, you could make the case there are plenty of Americans
00:08:03.140 who deserve the death penalty, for sure.
00:08:05.160 but watching it makes americans
00:08:10.620 much more likely to hurt each other and if you deny that then you're denying an obvious reality
00:08:19.300 that people have bloodless in them and you probably don't want to incite it any more than
00:08:25.600 you have to so it degrades the people who watch in the same way that pornography degrades people
00:08:30.720 who watch, the way that snuff videos degrade people who watch. Child pornography is illegal,
00:08:36.320 even child pornography that's AI generated. Why is that? No child is being hurt because we
00:08:41.800 collectively understand that watching something like that is bad for the people who watch. In
00:08:46.220 fact, it may be dangerous. You can inspire people to become pedophiles if you play them enough
00:08:51.520 child pornography. That's just true. Anyone who claims it's not true doesn't understand human
00:08:56.360 nature and has some reason to lie about it but that's a fact so how are public executions
00:09:01.180 different well they're not and it's not clear that dickens understood that before he saw one
00:09:05.840 but after he saw when he said no decent nation should allow this this is worse than what heathens
00:09:11.140 do and our people are behaving as heathens do as they watch these people march to the gallows and
00:09:16.420 swing and so he began a campaign to end it and the parliament responded about 20 years later and
00:09:22.220 ended it in Britain in the late 1860s. And so it ended for a reason. And we should think about
00:09:29.540 why the idea of it is now being resurrected. It's important to pause and ask, why did the
00:09:35.220 Secretary of War just suggest this? Now, whether he'll be able to pull it off is an entirely
00:09:39.140 different question. There's reporting today that apparently the president had no idea that Nadal
00:09:43.640 Hassan was in a wheelchair. He was struck a number of times by bullets, which ended his murder spree
00:09:50.380 lo those many years ago and he's been a paraplegic ever since and do you really want 0.65
00:09:55.460 to execute a paraplegic on camera not that it makes maybe a moral difference but it looks
00:10:00.240 kind of bad and so it's possible that trump will shut this down but it's really interesting in the
00:10:06.700 meantime the number of people who endorsed it which is pretty much everyone in the administration
00:10:10.500 mark wayne mullen who you know it's not a minor fact that he is the head of the department of
00:10:16.380 Homeland Security, and also a committed neocon, and there is a connection between neoconservatism
00:10:21.780 and the worship of violence, which we'll get into in just a minute. It's very obvious. Mark
00:10:25.640 Wayne Mullen was asked about this, and it commands a lot of armed federal employees. He's one of the
00:10:31.320 biggest ammo buyers in the United States, and so when asked, is it a good idea to publicly execute
00:10:36.900 someone on a live stream, he said, yeah, of course. It's probably not a coincidence that someone like
00:10:44.240 Mark Wayne Mullen, who believes that killing foreigners is a great idea just because they're
00:10:49.860 foreigners or whatever, who has the kind of callous attitudes you'd have to have to support
00:10:53.480 neoconservative foreign policy, would be for this. It's also true that Mark Wayne Mullen is a part
00:10:59.420 owner of a Kratom company. Without getting too far afield, what's Kratom? Well, Kratom is as yet
00:11:05.100 not banned by the Fed's substance that's sold in many convenience stores that acts on the brain
00:11:10.300 much like opiates do. It's addictive, it's fatal in high doses, and it's in a lot of places
00:11:15.860 completely legal. So this is the guy who runs the Department of Homeland Security, our second
00:11:22.380 biggest law enforcement agency, who's invested, personally invested, in a drug that is addicting
00:11:30.000 kids and killing kids in the country. He's already rich, by the way. So you have to ask yourself,
00:11:35.100 like what kind of person would invest in something that killed American kids and not just invested
00:11:40.540 in it, but has, according to news reports, personally lobbied throughout the administration
00:11:44.940 to keep it legal so he can keep getting paid. So imagine the sensation of going to sleep totally
00:11:50.320 sober, feeling like you're floating and then waking up rested with no soreness from a stiff
00:11:54.460 mattress. You can do that. All you got to do is switch to Brooklyn bedding. We guess you're
00:11:59.880 probably thinking a mattress like that is super expensive and made in bangladesh but no brooklyn
00:12:05.560 bedding is an american company hence the name it's got a 650 000 square foot facility in indiana a
00:12:12.160 guy called john started it and built it from the ground up right here in the u.s no college degree
00:12:17.900 by the way brooklyn makes mattresses for every sleep style and body type plus uses temperature
00:12:22.840 regulation to make sure that you stay cool throughout the night no hot nights 365 night a
00:12:28.620 full-year sleep trial, so you can return your mattress if you don't love it. We don't expect
00:12:32.620 that to happen, but you could. Brooklyn Bedding has been awarded the best mattress by CNET,
00:12:37.020 the best hybrid mattress by Wirecutter. It's totally real and vetted.

00:12:56.220 well it's up to god to judge that behavior but i think we here on earth can say that's not a guy
00:13:02.200 you want to hand guns to or give the power of life and death over because that is clearly a sign
00:13:10.100 that this is a callous cruel person who just doesn't care about other human beings
00:13:14.860 so that's the kind of person and those are the kind of people who think there's no problem at
00:13:20.580 all was supporting public executions and what's interesting is because this is a republican
00:13:26.240 administration and because there are still people out there who support them on the basis of the
00:13:32.500 idea they're conservative you have to ask yourself like is this the conservative position
00:13:36.620 that you execute people in wheelchairs on camera for the what edification of your population that
00:13:44.840 bread and circuses are okay. These are people on whom it hasn't dawned that like executing a guy
00:13:50.820 in a live stream is not that different from, I don't know, feeding people to the lions.
00:13:56.900 So is that the conservative position? Well, I mean, conservative, like so many other words in
00:14:02.980 our language doesn't have a precise definition. But I mean, you can turn to people who are widely
00:14:07.340 recognized as conservative leaders and ask them what they think. And we found a clip from Charlie
00:14:11.540 kirk because we checked kind of interesting to know what charlie kirk thought of this you know
00:14:15.180 he's not the the end all source of what's conservative but you know the guy thought
00:14:19.200 about it a lot and he was the single biggest conservative political leader in the united
00:14:22.600 states and he was asked about this not that long before he died what do you think of the death
00:14:26.500 penalty and it's worth watching his answer and paying close attention because there's some
00:14:32.560 really interesting observations in this here's charlie kirk on the death penalty
00:14:36.260 what was the exact wording of the question death penalty is wrong the death penalty is wrong that's
00:14:40.420 a moral question. So you did answer correctly. I would say it's political. But I would say in
00:14:45.040 America, I would oppose the death penalty for a very specific reason, because right now the trend
00:14:50.460 is this current government will use any power we give them against us. And this is the Patriot
00:14:56.620 Act argument, right? The moral argument, I'm totally on board. If we had a government that
00:15:00.440 was ethical and understood, you know, duty and use. You're saying just you think the government's
00:15:06.360 so far gone that they could in the practically right now in america i think we should oppose
00:15:10.740 the death penalty we should because they could start executing they would charlie kirk so they
00:15:14.380 would they absolutely i mean maybe i don't know if it's that far i mean like it's pretty bad i'm
00:15:19.280 just saying you know no it's that bad they're not but they're not they're not doing it yet at least
00:15:23.200 they could the death penalty part yeah they barely carry out the death penalty at all because right
00:15:27.200 now opposing the death penalty fits their agenda which is to try to have compassion supersede 0.89
00:15:32.460 justice right but make make no mistake as soon as the actual bolsheviks take over they're going to 0.78
00:15:38.380 want to bring back the geek yeah right i'm going to come to the state the idea that michael knolls
00:15:41.960 and charlie could still be in a gulag on alba is like no no no we got to wipe him off he's still
00:15:47.060 a threat he's still breathing two things jump out of that clip uh the first is his statement
00:15:54.940 not even a prediction a statement of fact there are people who want to kill me and if they have
00:15:58.140 the power they will. Pointing to see that now. The second is the word he used to describe the
00:16:03.500 people who use the power, government power, to kill people. And he called them Bolsheviks. And
00:16:10.360 that's more right than we acknowledge. So one of the great lies of history is that the Bolsheviks 0.98
00:16:15.840 who took over Russia and then the entire region in 1917 were ideologically motivated. That 0.59
00:16:21.120 Bolshevism was an economic program. Well, of course it wasn't. They were agnostic on economics, 0.84
00:16:24.860 the people who began that revolution. The Bolshevik Revolution was a revolution against
00:16:29.300 Christianity and the Christian order. And it replaced God with what? Well, money and power. 0.82
00:16:36.180 And it used violence as a kind of secular blood sacrifice, both to terrify the population and 0.98
00:16:41.220 the submission, but also for more power, because that's what a blood sacrifice does. You kill in
00:16:47.200 order to receive power. And so that word, which is not used often enough, kind of describes what
00:16:54.100 we're living through now. This isn't ideological. When people are calling for killing, and as you'll
00:17:00.100 hear, it's much more common than it ever has been in this country, the idea that killing is itself
00:17:04.520 a good thing. It's just something innately satisfying in killing, taking life. That's not
00:17:11.380 an ideology, of course. That's an ancient religion. It's the religion of blood sacrifice, which is
00:17:19.920 still common, by the way, around the world today. Wikipedia doesn't spell that out, but it is.
00:17:25.800 But the idea that you get powerful by killing is the oldest understanding of the supernatural.
00:17:34.160 But in modern terms, in modern secular terms, which of course are never really secular, 0.78
00:17:38.760 it was the Bolsheviks who embodied this, replace God with money and power. And of course, 0.88
00:17:43.960 that's what they were after, and they gave themselves both money and power. How is that
00:17:47.800 different from what we're watching now well it's not that different actually once you take out the 0.85
00:17:53.180 window dressing of marxism and marx and angles and what's the you know power of the proletariat
00:17:58.020 and all the slogans that obscured what it actually was it was a revolution against christianity that
00:18:04.380 began with the murder of the christian regent of russia the czar and his family you see it clearly
00:18:11.740 and how is that different well it's different in scale and severity than what we're living through
00:18:16.000 now, but the idea is not different at all. Overthrow the old moral order, which is rooted
00:18:21.720 in Christianity, and replace it with blood, money, and power. So that's not a conservative idea. 0.53
00:18:30.060 The conservative idea, at its core, at least always has been, these things are moving fast
00:18:34.360 and changing, has always been equality. Well, how could you say that? Equality? Are conservatives
00:18:39.960 racist well yeah probably some of them but the idea that's kind of not the point the point is
00:18:46.020 that at the root of the worldview we have called conservative for so long and certainly at the root
00:18:51.980 of the founding documents of this country is the belief the bedrock belief that god not just a
00:18:58.760 higher power but the highest power created every person and because god created every person people
00:19:06.440 are imbued with what the documents call inalienable rights, rights that cannot be taken
00:19:11.120 away. So while there's massive variation in ability, of course, in appearance, of course,
00:19:16.580 there is no variation at all in moral value. Every human being has a soul. And so on the most basic
00:19:24.020 level, we are all equal. It's the basis of the idea of citizenship, of course. And it's that
00:19:30.460 idea that is evaporating before our very eyes and being replaced by exactly what you would
00:19:37.380 imagine to be replaced by, total callousness for human life, because not all lives are created
00:19:42.240 equal. So it's interesting that this whole moment began, you could say this on a lot of issues,
00:19:49.440 with exactly the opposite promises. So it's hard to believe this is real, but it is.
00:19:54.060 Here's the current president at a pro-life event of some kind explaining, well really reading words
00:19:58.760 other people wrote, but he read them explaining why life itself is the most important thing.
00:20:06.140 Watch. Together, we must protect, cherish, and defend the dignity and the sanctity of every
00:20:12.740 human life. When we see the image of a baby in the womb, we glimpse the majesty of God's
00:20:22.840 creation. I notified Congress that I would veto any legislation that weakens pro-life policies
00:20:31.240 or that encourages the destruction of human life. The destruction of human life. So that's the key
00:20:43.120 right there. Not simply, you know, whatever Trump believes personally, and he's obviously not
00:20:47.840 opposed to abortion that's pretty clear now or for human life but the idea exists outside of trump
00:20:54.300 and outside of the moment in which we're currently living because it's an eternal idea and it's true
00:20:59.160 we don't seek to protect just american life or value just american life or life that contributes
00:21:07.400 meaningfully to gdp or non-palestinian life or whatever but life because every human being is
00:21:15.020 inherently valuable life itself is valuable because we didn't create it and sorry ai guys
00:21:22.380 we're never going to be able to so that right there underpins the entire american project
00:21:32.900 and that's why and it goes downstream to every interaction that you have with your government
00:21:37.600 or did until recently that's why the police can pull you over for broken taillight but they have
00:21:43.380 to be polite to you. They can't violate your rights because they didn't grant you your rights.
00:21:47.780 God did. And you're a citizen of the United States, but you're also a human being.
00:21:51.440 And once again, those rights are inalienable. So when that goes away, the deal changes completely.
00:21:58.260 When the people in charge no longer see other human beings as human and feel that they can
00:22:03.980 kill them without apologizing for it, everybody's in peril. Everybody's in peril. Well, when does
00:22:11.400 that happen? How could that happen? How could something so foundational, a belief that really
00:22:16.500 kind of describes every part of our country, that belief that every life is sacred, how could that
00:22:23.980 belief be overturned? Well, of course, by war. Things change fast in war. Attitudes change,
00:22:29.220 realities change, famously on the ground, but we change, and that's what we don't perceive. We
00:22:33.020 change as we watch the brutality of war. Our expectations change, our understanding of other
00:22:38.900 people changes even our views on the humanity of our fellow human beings change very very fast
00:22:45.120 there's one of the reasons you don't want to have wars if you can help it because they make you
00:22:49.780 callous and brutal you become the monster you're fighting this has been noted since ancient greece
00:22:54.760 it's not a new concept but every generation forgets it but if you doubt it ask yourself
00:23:00.640 in say 1985 or 1995 during the 1980s and 90s if the secretary of then defense stood up
00:23:07.920 and said, you know, we're going to execute this guy
00:23:10.380 by firing squad.
00:23:11.500 You might say, fine.
00:23:12.520 And we're going to do it in public.
00:23:15.060 There would have been an outcry.
00:23:18.160 What?
00:23:19.060 No.
00:23:20.260 And debase us?
00:23:21.820 Even people who are for the death penalty would say,
00:23:23.580 no, you can't do that to us.
00:23:24.820 You can't put this on a public medium
00:23:28.220 where my kids can see it
00:23:29.700 any more than you can stream pornography
00:23:32.980 because we're not going to be degraded by you.
00:23:35.980 so most of the snacks you could buy at your local corporate grocery store are not real food
00:23:40.840 at all they're made of weird chemicals kinds of ingredients you can pronounce you don't want to
00:23:45.460 put that in your body all those dyes red 40 yellow five no thanks grass-fed beef sticks from paleo
00:23:53.100 valley are totally different unlike most beef sticks they are completely natural and entirely
00:23:58.420 free of something called encapsulated citric acid zero encapsulated citric acid paleo valley uses
00:24:05.100 old-world natural fermentation.
00:24:07.080 That's a method that people have used for centuries.
00:24:09.320 And that means what you eat is totally real.
00:24:11.680 It's healthy, tastes good,
00:24:13.380 no sugar, soy, nitrates,
00:24:15.300 or any of this stuff you'll find at gas station meat sticks.
00:24:18.360 It's quick, it's easy, and it's good for you.
00:24:20.880 The original flavor is our favorite.
00:24:22.500 It's seasoned perfectly.
00:24:24.360 Throw a few Paleo Valley beef sticks in your bag,
00:24:27.080 in your glove box, in desk drawer,
00:24:29.340 whenever you need protein, quickly.
00:24:32.000 It's worth it.

00:24:43.660 But nothing like that happened.
00:24:45.320 I mean, there were, of course, people who were texting each other and saying,
00:24:47.620 can you believe Pete Hegseth, the Secretary of War, said this?
00:24:51.400 But there was no attack on Pete Hegseth really by anybody.
00:24:56.740 Because nobody in power saw it, maybe as ugly or whatever, but as shocking.
00:25:03.580 no moral rubicon was crossed in their minds now why is that well there are a lot of different
00:25:08.620 reasons but partly it's because war changes all of us we see incredibly ugly things and the more
00:25:14.660 we see those things the more we accept those things as normal and that's why you could see
00:25:19.160 a man like that that video that you just saw was shot in 2020 become the man you're about to see
00:25:24.200 this is the same man president united states donald trump responding to a question about the
00:25:29.420 Iranian girls' school that the United States apparently bombed, vaporizing over 100 little
00:25:34.480 girls in class. His response to this reveals what appears to be a completely different man.
00:25:42.120 Watch. Now that you're approaching a new phase in this conflict with Iran, can you now say whether
00:25:48.260 you will hold anyone in your administration accountable for the strike on a school that
00:25:52.600 killed more than 100 children on the first day of the war? No, if it was a fault, and as you know,
00:25:59.100 that's under investigation.
00:26:01.400 It's such a strange question to be asked at this stake.
00:26:04.840 She's talking about a long time ago,
00:26:06.480 but nobody did that on purpose.
00:26:10.100 I guess you'd have to say about them,
00:26:12.420 what about the thousands of soldiers
00:26:14.200 that they blew up when they opened their car door?
00:26:16.480 What about the thousands of people 0.97
00:26:18.060 that were killed by Iran?
00:26:20.260 No, mistakes are made. 0.96
00:26:21.460 The war is nasty.
00:26:23.300 But I know it's under investigation,
00:26:25.360 and I could have a report for you tomorrow.
00:26:27.600 i'd ask i would ask pete i would ask pete heggsett that question because they have it under
00:26:33.380 investigation yeah it's under investigation just like every time settlers shoot a palestinian
00:26:39.740 including christians it's under investigation yeah it's under investigation can't talk about
00:26:42.520 active investigation can't talk about it well it's probably a lie maybe it's true who knows
00:26:46.500 but you don't need an investigation to reach a quick and certain response and it's one rooted in
00:26:54.920 your own decency as a human being? And the response is, that's awful. I hope we didn't do it.
00:27:01.540 If we did it, we're going to apologize for it immediately because girls are never a legitimate 1.00
00:27:07.020 target ever in war or peace. You can't kill little kids ever. And so we just want to say 1.00
00:27:16.240 that we're really sorry about this. We're not at war with the children of Iran or any other country.
00:27:20.060 god willing we hope they never declare war on our children because it's just awful it's the worst
00:27:26.500 thing it's not hard to say that and any normal person would say that because that's the obvious
00:27:30.560 conclusion right but he didn't say that and what did he say instead well he immediately went to
00:27:36.300 well they were mean to us and you should be asking about that and during the iraq war doesn't make
00:27:41.780 any sense of course during the iraq war which another american president also started on behalf
00:27:46.060 of Israel. We had no reason to have an Iraq war at all. They had nothing to do with 9-11, but
00:27:49.800 whatever. During that war, Iranian-backed proxies killed American soldiers. Well, yeah, that's
00:27:54.740 absolutely true. And whose fault is that? It was the fault of the American president who sent them
00:27:58.460 into battle on behalf of the Israeli government. So that person, his name is George W. Bush,
00:28:05.280 ought to be punished for that. All those people died because of a decision he made.
00:28:10.020 But whatever, Trump, of course, would have said that five years ago, back when he was opposed
00:28:15.640 to neocon forever wars but won't say that now since he's leading one but it's interesting
00:28:22.300 the mechanism by which he defends the indefensible what he says is why are you asking me about this
00:28:27.560 bad things have happened to us and that illustrates one of the deep truths about people
00:28:33.520 which all of us should keep in mind this is one of the reasons therapy is tends to be so poisonous
00:28:39.160 for people and the principle is this once you believe you are the victim you lose empathy
00:28:44.860 for other people. Narcissism makes it impossible to care about others. Once you start collecting
00:28:51.980 wounds, once you start brooding about how you've been mistreated, the mistreatment of others means
00:28:57.300 absolutely nothing to you. You become a monster to the extent you believe you are a victim.
00:29:03.940 This is exactly what's happening in Israel. It was a country which not that long ago had all kinds of 0.99
00:29:08.200 decent, interesting people who disagreed with each other and debated the moral course of action
00:29:12.100 all the time in public. That's no longer the country. There are still people like that in
00:29:16.480 Israel. But overwhelmingly, the consensus in Israel is we were hurt, we have always been hurt,
00:29:23.600 and therefore we have no obligation whatsoever to care about what we do to other people.
00:29:30.240 But of course, it's not just Israel that's like this. We're all like this. People are like that.
00:29:34.180 The more you consider yourself a victim, the less empathy you have for other people. It is a
00:29:41.360 consistent and unchanging theme of human nature. And by the way, you see it in crime videos in this
00:29:46.580 country and in other countries. People who believe they've been victimized, they're the
00:29:50.380 target of systemic hatred or whatever, tend to be unusually cruel in the way that they treat other
00:29:55.640 people. It's just a fact. So here you have Donald Trump basically saying, I don't have to apologize
00:30:02.660 for a strike that almost certainly came from the United States or its ally Israel that murdered
00:30:08.560 all these little girls because they were mean to us once. And really, the outrage is what they did 0.77
00:30:11.940 to us. No, the outrage is both. Killing innocents is always wrong no matter who they are, period.
00:30:19.020 And if that's not true, then Charlie Kirk was really right to worry about where this impulse
00:30:26.560 to kill people could lead. What's used against my opponent will be used against me. That is a fact.
00:30:33.040 so we have to preserve the truth and say it out loud it is always wrong to kill the innocent
00:30:41.100 and simply because you were harmed or your family or your nation was harmed
00:30:45.240 your feelings were harmed by someone else does not give you license to hurt them but of course
00:30:51.480 it's a very human thing that's the truth so you would think in a normal country one with a working
00:30:58.400 political system there'd be some pushback because our system is designed to police itself through
00:31:02.720 the adversarial relationship between the two parties. We only have two parties. Lots of other
00:31:06.480 countries have a ton of parties. We have two. But the idea is that's enough because they keep each
00:31:11.400 other honest because they called each other out when they go too far in one direction or just into
00:31:16.000 complete lunacy, as you just saw. But of course, no one really called Trump out on that. There's
00:31:21.660 no groundswell demand from Democrats that Trump apologized for killing all those girls in a girl
00:31:27.140 school. I mean, different politicians may mention it. That's bad. But no one's marching in the
00:31:32.800 streets over it. Of course, there are no no king's demonstrations against killing schoolgirls in
00:31:38.360 Iran. Now, why is that? Well, there's only one conclusion because they're not really against it
00:31:43.000 because they don't believe in the only precept that makes that wrong. And what's that? Equality.
00:31:51.020 every human soul has identical value again the idea this country is based on
00:31:57.040 no longer has the support of its leaders in either party well how do you know that well
00:32:04.260 you know that because they don't ever challenge trump on that it's all about his corruption okay
00:32:07.960 yeah it's bad is it worse than the u.s president coming out and saying it's okay to kill the
00:32:13.140 innocent nothing is worse than that nothing is more dangerous to all of us than that and if the
00:32:16.820 Democratic Party, at least at its leadership level, is not opposed to that. And if you don't
00:32:22.280 believe it, watch something that got completely lost. It's just kind of an amazing moment that
00:32:27.620 we would like to put in a time capsule somewhere so our descendants can look at it in horror and
00:32:32.660 say, boy, we're a lot better than we used to be. Those were the dark ages. This is Governor Maura
00:32:36.780 Healy of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts announcing passage of a bill in that state
00:32:41.960 which would allow abortion up to birth, infanticide.
00:32:44.580 Watch this.
00:32:45.460 We're here today to take another step
00:32:47.500 to protect and strengthen abortion protections
00:32:50.960 and to make sure that patients get the care that they need.
00:32:54.080 To be clear, abortion is on the ballot
00:32:56.120 this November in Massachusetts and around the country.
00:32:59.300 And the role of governors is really, really important.
00:33:02.660 And I'm proud as governor
00:33:03.800 that I've been able to work with the legislature
00:33:05.420 to make sure that we stand up for women,
00:33:08.080 mothers and fathers and families
00:33:10.080 in making health care decisions for themselves
00:33:12.820 in consultation with licensed and trained professionals.
00:33:17.120 My opponents are anti-abortion.
00:33:20.300 One of my opponents, Mike Minogue, is proudly anti-abortion.
00:33:23.760 But the bottom line for people in Massachusetts,
00:33:26.280 if you care about women's health,
00:33:27.820 if you care about making sure that women are able to access
00:33:31.240 the health care that they need in consultation with their doctors,
00:33:36.040 to be clear, I stand with women. 0.70
00:33:37.840 My opponents do not.
00:33:40.080 everything about that is depressing and sad the delusion of the people behind or imagining they've
00:33:57.720 been liberated from something they haven't but for longtime connoisseurs of american politics
00:34:02.540 the first thing that jumps out is the way the governor describes the bill she doesn't dress it
00:34:07.540 up. She doesn't say this is health care. Abortion is health care. It's vital health care. She doesn't
00:34:12.560 say it's reproductive freedom. She calls it what it is. It's abortion. So people didn't used to 1.00
00:34:18.100 talk like that at all. Why? Because everybody recognizes that abortion is awful. No one wants
00:34:22.660 to hear the details of abortion. If we were to play video of a late-term surgical abortion right
00:34:27.820 now, you'd turn away. In fact, we might be taken down because it's so brutal. And everyone kind
00:34:32.840 of senses that and even under circumstances where normal people think okay i guess abortion is 0.53
00:34:37.520 allowed only a ghoul would celebrate that because it is death and there's kind of no way around that
00:34:42.860 you can get mad and scream at people for imposing the patriarchy or your religious values nothing
00:34:48.200 to do with patriarchy or religious values you're ending a life science attests to that it's
00:34:53.360 indisputable owning a home has always been the core of the american dream it's the asset that
00:34:57.780 families work their lives to build, a place of stability, security, and actual wealth. But too
00:35:03.900 many homeowners right now are stuck swiping credit cards to cover groceries, paying a survival tax
00:35:08.540 of 20% interest or more. So we're against debt. We always say that. But you can't buy a house
00:35:14.780 without debt right now. Almost anybody has to take out a loan. So the question is, who are you going
00:35:20.700 to get a loan from? Why are you handing your money to big banks when you can keep it for your family?
00:35:26.500 Our friends at American Financing have a better way.
00:35:28.920 They're helping homeowners tap into their hard-earned equity.
00:35:31.340 They're supporting Americans looking to fulfill the American dream of owning a home.
00:35:35.460 American Financing saves its customers an average of $800 a month.
00:35:38.940 That's nearly $10,000 a year.
00:35:41.580 It's not just a loan.
00:35:42.920 It's a total financial reset.
00:35:44.760 And so American Financing is worth looking at.
00:35:46.940 They're called America's Home for Home Loans for a reason.

00:36:02.540 So the media loves to scare the crap out of you with reporting about crises.
00:36:07.020 Some are fake. Some are not fake, which is real. Well, the source of concern is often the best
00:36:13.960 measure. Take artificial intelligence. Fears about AI ending humanity are coming not just
00:36:18.920 from crazy people, they're coming from the people who are creating AI right now. People working on
00:36:24.720 AI are terrified of AI. So if the people who created the technology fear it, then you probably
00:36:32.780 should pay some attention because they know what they're talking about. So how can you prepare for
00:36:38.580 whatever is coming in this AI-dominant future? Well, it's hard to know for sure, but you definitely
00:36:44.000 need to own key survival essentials, obviously. I mean, like, why wouldn't you? And that's why
00:36:49.220 we started Last Country Supply, to make it easy for you to do that. They would include survival
00:36:54.000 food, light, energy, and just basic supplies. Last Country Supply has everything and it's high
00:37:00.780 quality. We've got all of it in our garage. You probably should too. So if you're concerned at
00:37:08.480 all that maybe the future won't be quite as stable as today. Last Country Supply is a very quick way
00:37:15.360 to put your fears at ease and to do the right thing for your family. LastCountrySupply.com
00:37:21.660 slash Tucker. So the only way to get the public to accept it, of course, is to dress it up as
00:37:28.120 something else, to lie about it, to cloak its reality in euphemism. And that's what generations
00:37:32.460 of pro-choice politicians have done. I'm not pro-abortion. It should be safe, legal, and rare,
00:37:38.080 said bill clinton but there are extenuating circumstances when the 12 year old daughter
00:37:41.840 the migrant farm worker gets pregnant and like you want to deny her a future of course she needs
00:37:46.480 access to this life-saving care okay okay it was all lie of course but at least they're paying me 0.69
00:37:52.840 the compliment of lying to me mora healy didn't this is abortion we're for abortion up to the
00:37:59.320 moment of birth and my opponent the other guy the republican is bad because he's quote anti-abortion
00:38:05.680 aren't we all anti-abortion some of us think it could be necessary and therefore should be allowed
00:38:11.060 under certain circumstances when a doctor and her clergy person of choice talk it through no
00:38:17.740 we're just for abortion more abortion the better we've got a million a year but that's not enough
00:38:21.820 so we're not going to lower gas prices or make it easier for your kids to go to college or buy a
00:38:26.580 home or make your life better in any way but the one thing we're going to do is give you more 1.00
00:38:30.760 abortion. And guess who responded to that? Nobody. Like a small group of evangelicals and passionate 1.00
00:38:38.280 Catholics who follow this stuff online, they were upset. You know, they've been upset for
00:38:41.660 50 years since Roe v. Wade, but nobody else. It didn't even rate. Yeah, more Healy doing her
00:38:46.800 women's thing. That is another marker of our collective callousness. And it's bipartisan. 1.00
00:38:58.520 Yes, there is a guy posing as the president.
00:39:02.060 He doesn't make any of the key decisions,
00:39:03.320 but whatever, he calls himself president.
00:39:04.640 He just got us into an unwinnable war
00:39:06.180 that is tanking our empire and our economy.
00:39:08.160 Okay, he deserves the blame.
00:39:10.000 But if we're being honest about how we got here
00:39:12.600 in the first place, we have to say
00:39:14.620 it is the refusal of the leadership of both parties
00:39:18.620 to acknowledge the humanity of every person
00:39:20.740 that got us here, that allowed the Biden administration
00:39:23.040 to fund genocide, actual genocide, in Gaza.
00:39:28.520 And so there's no, the point of all of this is, there's no restraint. There is no part of the
00:39:35.140 system that is working to correct these impulses. There's no constituency for treating human beings
00:39:42.920 as human beings. The system is so completely out of whack that everybody with power agrees
00:39:48.320 that if you are inconvenient or annoying, you can be killed. If you're an Iranian schoolgirl,
00:39:55.400 if you're a baby in the womb who's unfortunate enough to be in the belly of a woman who doesn't 0.99
00:40:01.520 want a baby if you're a palestinian and you don't have a seat at the u.n and no one really cares
00:40:07.140 what you think because there's no incentive to care because like what can you do for me 0.92
00:40:11.400 that it's okay to kill you and both parties feel that way and trust me if you're not a billionaire
00:40:18.260 if you don't have your own private lobby in the congress if you don't have trump's cell phone
00:40:22.840 that could be very bad news for you because whatever they're doing to a eight-month-old
00:40:27.480 in utero or the palestinians or the iranian schoolgirls why wouldn't they do that to you
00:40:32.660 who's going to stop them this is the point that charlie kirk made that bolshevism is a replacement 0.92
00:40:39.980 of the christian social order an order which was open to non-christians thankfully since its
00:40:47.200 inception but that was based on the humanity of every person because god created him so when that 0.67
00:40:53.440 goes away what does your society become of course vicious and cruel and obsessed with money and
00:41:00.000 power obviously and that's exactly what we're seeing now what we're seeing is is bolshevism
00:41:06.160 which is non-ideological and not the same as marxism which is like absurd and no one even
00:41:10.000 cares what's in marxism marxism nobody even cares all this accelerates however during war
00:41:17.180 and how does that work well as noted part of it is the nature of war results in the deaths of
00:41:24.400 innocence and if you look at that enough on a screen it's like if you look at pornography
00:41:28.020 enough or bestiality videos all day after a while like it's kind of an attractive horse i get it
00:41:33.320 i'm not into it personally it's not crazy like we are shaped by the world around us of course
00:41:39.560 so if you're like living in a country that's blowing up school girls the first time you hear
00:41:43.720 about it, it shocks you. The fifth time you hear about it, you're like, yeah, war is hard. Mistakes
00:41:48.600 are made in war, as Trump said. Civilians die in war, it's very unfortunate. But they did a lot
00:41:54.260 of bad stuff to us. Really? The Iranian schoolgirls did? Okay. But there's another mechanism by which
00:42:01.700 the rest of us become monsters. And that is the fear that is instilled in us by our leaders on
00:42:11.660 purpose in order to control us and to get us to comply with what is very obviously an anti-human
00:42:18.700 agenda. And what's interesting, having seen this many times, what's interesting is how often the
00:42:23.920 leaders employ this tactic. It's like since the beginning of time, be afraid, be very afraid and
00:42:28.620 do what I say. But how those leaders, even as they tell these lies, push this propaganda, become
00:42:35.020 besotted by it themselves. Like they start to believe it. They start to become paranoid. You
00:42:40.020 see this in Netanyahu all the time he gets up and gives these gassy speeches about you know we're
00:42:45.100 everyone wants to kill us all the time and it's like actually people are pretty mad at you now
00:42:49.420 that you committed genocide and like blew up southern Lebanon and leveled all these churches
00:42:53.920 what do the Christians have to do with this so they're pretty mad you're the least popular 0.84
00:42:57.540 country in the world but you can envision another path where Israel sought peace with its neighbors
00:43:04.580 like 60 years ago yeah okay we took Gaza and the West Bank and East Jerusalem but like we're not
00:43:10.680 and we're not giving them back but let's figure out a way to live together that never happened 0.81
00:43:14.320 but it's not just the Israelis who are like this it's everybody so how do you get like that you
00:43:19.520 get like that by telling yourself again and again and again everybody else hates me we are under 0.68
00:43:24.600 constant threat we are never safe kill them before they kill us it's a kind of brain disease that 0.86
00:43:31.820 again, does not just happen in Israel, though that's the most obvious example because it's 0.92
00:43:35.660 been going on for so long. It happens here in the United States. And even the people spewing
00:43:41.400 this nonsense are susceptible to being swayed by it. So the number one fact about the United
00:43:49.180 States, as in any country, the number one fact is a geographical fact. The first thing to know
00:43:53.900 about a country is where it is on the globe, who lives there, and what are the resources.
00:43:57.940 Like those are the actual facts of a country. And a lot of the stuff is just an overlay.
00:44:01.620 like, well, they have this kind of system, and it's a bicameral system, and they're Marxists,
00:44:05.300 they're capitalists. Oh, shut up. Do they control the Strait of Hormuz or not? How much oil do they
00:44:11.420 have? How close are they to their historic rivals? Like, these are the actual questions. Is there a
00:44:16.460 mountain range or an ocean defending them from invasion? Like, these are the basic questions
00:44:20.920 that somehow get lost in all of this. So the most basic fact about the United States is
00:44:26.920 it's separated from the rest of the world by the two biggest oceans on the planet.
00:44:31.620 That's a pretty good thing, especially now with the internet service. It's an inherently safe
00:44:36.660 country, and it's a dangerous country only to the extent that our leaders want it to be.
00:44:44.220 All things being equal, this is the safest country in the world and remains so. It's not,
00:44:49.380 but it's not because our leaders have intentionally made it dangerous to keep us on edge and control
00:44:54.400 us. But it's still safe. This country has never been invaded, and it, I mean, God willing,
00:45:00.720 never will be pretty hard to invade it how you're going to invade it how you get the troops over
00:45:05.160 here maybe by drones now but this country is very very safe it has a vanishingly small number of
00:45:11.080 terror attacks too many but not as many as they told us were coming do you remember that after
00:45:15.260 9-11 we're never going outside again no more commercial air travel and by the way you cannot
00:45:20.980 see the 9-11 files they're classified forever okay any case they whip themselves into a frenzy
00:45:29.100 George W. Bush and all the dumb people around him whipped themselves into a frenzy, which was
00:45:35.140 designed to terrify the population, but in the end terrified them. You're seeing the same thing with
00:45:39.760 Trump right now. The same thing with Trump. This is an amazing clip that got almost no attention,
00:45:43.740 or the right kind of attention. Here is Trump explaining why he needs a ballroom. Now, on some
00:45:48.240 level, you may suspect he needs a ballroom because he wants more monuments to himself. And he's like
00:45:52.420 a sad guy who doesn't like himself, and he's 80, and so he wants to leave behind, you know,
00:45:57.080 stat gilded statues so you never forget that he existed okay obviously that's true but there's
00:46:02.680 another reason and he kind of talked about it in this clip here's trump on the ballroom
00:46:08.760 are you worried about the ballroom funding mr president there's speculation the ballrooms are
00:46:12.920 being built i'm building the ballroom you saw it yesterday right yeah we're building a great
00:46:18.280 ballroom it's been needed it's a very military complex the roof is actually a drone port the
00:46:25.480 The roof of the ballroom is a drone port, and it gives great safety to everything below.
00:46:30.860 We're building a really great ballroom, but it's also a military, a strong military position for our people.
00:46:41.220 The roof is actually a drone port.
00:46:43.480 That's the cool thing.
00:46:44.220 It's a drone port.
00:46:45.380 The drones go out.
00:46:49.560 It's so stupid.
00:46:51.220 The president of the United States is very unsafe.
00:46:53.120 we just haven't spent enough in the federal budget to protect the president of the united states
00:46:57.440 i should probably spend too much actually i mean the core requirement of leadership is that you're
00:47:04.200 willing to one hopes you don't have to but that you are willing to lay down your life for the
00:47:09.340 people you lead it's the father's first job of course most important job there's a home invasion
00:47:13.900 honey will you get the home invasion no you're the dude go deal with the home invader
00:47:19.120 it's true in the military it's true in every structure the leader is the person willing to
00:47:24.280 lay down his life for the people he leads and so like of course you want to keep the president safe
00:47:27.660 of course he's elected by the people he's a person you don't want him to face undue risk
00:47:32.100 but the idea that the president's life is worth a lot more than your life is a lie and we should
00:47:37.300 call it out as a lie his life is worth exactly as much as mine and yours and everyone else in
00:47:41.880 this country's every single person has identical value to the president of the united states that's
00:47:46.260 why we're not slaves he's not a king he wasn't appointed by god he was appointed by us so the
00:47:53.140 idea that we need more protection for the president oh stop you narcissist but it also suggests that
00:47:59.960 this is a guy who's been convinced that we are under serious peril and is now doing his best
00:48:05.980 to convince us of that and that paranoia makes us much more easy to control you'll accept things
00:48:13.020 you would not accept otherwise if you think your life is at stake. Of course. So what is this? Well,
00:48:19.100 of course you know what it is. It's the only other way to rule a population. There are two ways to
00:48:24.660 rule a population. One is by consent. Happy families are ruled by consent. There's someone
00:48:30.120 in charge called the dad, but he doesn't impose things on his family that they hate or that are
00:48:36.060 bad for them. Of course, it's a subtle dance. And in every happy family is the same. It's a subtle
00:48:41.000 dance. Find out what people want. Mix that with what you think is good for them and come to a
00:48:44.580 decision. But it's not totalitarian in any sense. People who attempt to run any structure in a
00:48:52.120 totalitarian way have an unhappy and unstable structure. Fact. So we have always had at least
00:48:58.460 the appearance of a government run by consent. The people want this. That's why we're doing it.
00:49:02.520 So that's one way to do it, historically, the way that we have run this country.
00:49:06.760 The other way to do it is to rule by fear.
00:49:09.300 It's to terrify the crap out of everyone
00:49:10.700 so they do what you say.
00:49:12.260 And that's a much more traditional
00:49:13.560 and longstanding form of government.
00:49:14.960 In fact, that's the form of government
00:49:16.460 of most countries at most times in history.
00:49:19.640 And it's popular because it works.
00:49:21.360 You can terrify people into doing what you say.
00:49:27.520 And this probably has been the rule for all of history.
00:49:30.700 It was probably the rule in the caves.
00:49:32.980 But it ended in the West in 33 AD with the rise of Christianity.
00:49:38.980 How did that happen?
00:49:40.100 Here's how.
00:49:42.060 The early Christian church existed within the Roman Empire.
00:49:45.760 Jesus lived within the Roman Empire.
00:49:48.740 And the Roman Empire ruled by fear.
00:49:51.780 It was a huge slave population.
00:49:53.140 They probably didn't have a choice.
00:49:55.300 And one of the ways they instilled fear was by torturing people to death
00:49:59.400 in the most gruesome possible way.
00:50:00.680 In fact, in the 2,000 years since, very few people, even the most diabolical minds on the internet, have devised a form of death by torture more gruesome or more painful than crucifixion, which consisted of hanging a man by his arms, attaching him to a wooden crossbar with nails, and letting him just die there.
00:50:19.520 and the process took days, sometimes several days, and he was hung naked in full public view
00:50:26.820 along a busy thoroughfare, so everyone could see this guy writhing in unending agony for days
00:50:34.160 until he died. It was such a horrible form of execution that it was effective, and it was,
00:50:42.660 by the way, not meted out to everybody. There were lots of ways the Romans executed people,
00:50:46.380 but the people whose deaths they hoped
00:50:49.420 would make a statement, a powerful statement
00:50:51.080 to the rest of the population, were crucified.
00:50:54.560 And they were convinced to crucify Jesus.
00:50:57.200 So, okay, and a lot of other people, by the way,
00:50:59.700 including two people with him that day.
00:51:03.040 What makes it different?
00:51:04.660 What makes it different is that the followers of Jesus
00:51:07.920 took that symbol, that cross, that torture device,
00:51:12.280 and didn't run away from it, but embraced it.
00:51:16.380 as the symbol of their religious faith, of their faith in Jesus. And that cross for 2,000 years,
00:51:23.280 that torture device has been the symbol of the Christian church and of Christianity itself and
00:51:27.780 of belief in Jesus. Think about that. Imagine if a new religion started next week and it took as
00:51:34.760 its symbol the electric chair or the rack or some other unimaginably horrible torture device. Why 0.98
00:51:40.560 would you do that? Well, you would do that probably to send the very clear message inherent
00:51:45.940 in the symbol, which is we are not afraid. The worst thing the temporal world has for us is slow
00:51:53.360 torture by nails and a cross. And that doesn't, that doesn't scare us at all. And so it was at
00:52:00.520 that moment, that's inherently destabilizing to temporal authorities. That's the worst you got.
00:52:07.640 I'll make it, I'll put it on the side of our churches. I'll wear it on a pendant around my
00:52:12.720 neck your torture it means nothing nothing you do can scare me because this is not the end
00:52:20.860 and that has been the position of faithful christians ever since for 2 000 years paul
00:52:25.580 the author of a lot of the new testament wrote a bunch of his letters while chained to a wall in
00:52:29.800 a prison and they're cheerful by the way so you can't intimidate people like that in fact people
00:52:35.120 like that intimidate the people in charge there is nothing scarier to people who seek to rule by
00:52:42.160 fear than someone who is not afraid. They're not afraid of you fighting back. I got my AR-15. Yeah,
00:52:49.180 they got drones. They're not afraid of you at all. The only thing that puts fear in their hearts
00:52:55.120 is your fearlessness. And the only thing that gives people true fearlessness is a belief that
00:53:00.300 this is not the end, but instead the beginning. And so if you want to rule the world by fear,
00:53:05.540 The very first thing you have to do is extinguish Christianity. 0.91
00:53:10.120 And Bolsheviks of every age, of every age, going back to the first century and extending 0.93
00:53:16.220 through the French Revolution and the Spanish Civil War, and yes, the Russian Revolution 0.68
00:53:19.640 of 1917, and the current revolution that we're watching, the AI revolution, all of them have 0.86
00:53:25.720 as their aim, extinguishing this one religion.
00:53:28.660 Not all religions, that religion. 0.74
00:53:30.980 The religion that put a torture device on the side of its buildings and called it holy.
00:53:35.540 and said to temporal leaders, there is nothing you can do or say to us that will make us afraid.
00:53:41.300 So they have to extinguish that, and they're trying hard to do it. They won't succeed, obviously.
00:53:48.740 But in the process of doing that, they are changing our society.
00:53:57.780 And by they, we mean adherence of a very specific worldview, and that's neoconservatism,
00:54:03.760 which apparently is supposed to be like an anti-Semitic slur but the truth is a lot of
00:54:08.360 neoconservatives are not Jewish you don't need to be Jewish to be a neoconservative some of
00:54:13.400 those famous aren't it's not synonymous with Judaism actually sorry but it is anti-Christian
00:54:19.600 neoconservatism is an attack on the Christian order and Christianity itself and you know that
00:54:26.300 by its aggressively callous attitude toward the taking of innocent human life
00:54:33.340 so aggressive and so callous that after a while if you've watched it for 20 years as some of us
00:54:40.060 have you begin to suspect that the taking of human life especially innocent human life people
00:54:45.580 with no role in anything made no decision worthy of the death penalty that killing them is the
00:54:54.100 point that this is some kind of blood sacrifice ritual they derive some kind of deep charge from
00:55:01.560 this. That's not a slur. That's not just like the nastiest thing we could say about the neocons.
00:55:06.760 That's a considered opinion based on years of observation. And we could give you a million
00:55:12.900 examples, but we'll just point to the arch neocon, no longer with us, Lindsey Graham of South Carolina.
00:55:19.480 So January 6th happens, whatever you think of January 6th, I think decent people can agree
00:55:25.180 that the government would have been wrong to respond by murdering a bunch of unarmed Americans
00:55:30.420 who, misguided as they may have been, wound up in the U.S. Capitol.
00:55:33.620 But that's not Lindsey Graham's view.
00:55:35.820 Listen to the account of a law enforcement officer who was there.
00:55:40.320 Listen to him describe what Lindsey Graham said about the protesters.
00:55:44.120 And then there's Lindsey Graham, another Republican who later joined the endeavor
00:55:48.120 to whitewash January 6th in earnest.
00:55:51.020 Former D.C. police officer Michael Fanone says in a meeting with officers who responded to the attack,
00:55:56.280 Graham told them this, quote,
00:55:57.640 you guys should have shot them all in the head we gave you guys guns and you should have used them
00:56:04.280 i don't understand why that didn't happen end quote now in a normal country in which
00:56:11.600 love of people and the belief in the fundamental humanity of every person
00:56:16.320 was real that would have been i mean you know people get taken out of office for sex scandals
00:56:22.440 or for investing in companies they're regulating,
00:56:24.620 which is all fair.
00:56:26.600 But calling for the murder of your fellow Americans,
00:56:28.940 unarmed people who, however wrong they may have been,
00:56:32.400 thought they were exercising their constitutional rights,
00:56:33.940 calling for them to be shot in the head?
00:56:35.800 Talk about a disqualifying statement.
00:56:37.740 There should have been an investigation immediately
00:56:39.400 by the Republican Party, by the Congress,
00:56:41.520 maybe by courts, what?
00:56:43.580 Calling for the killing of unarmed people?
00:56:47.620 Isn't that a crime?
00:56:49.220 Well, it's certainly a moral crime,
00:56:50.240 but nobody even noticed at all.
00:56:52.440 So hard have our hearts become.
00:56:54.260 And of course, his fellow neocons didn't notice
00:56:56.040 because that's the whole program.
00:56:58.480 So again, to restate, neoconservatism has geopolitical aims
00:57:02.860 and we need to be tough on this country 0.99
00:57:04.840 and blow up the Iranian government 0.65
00:57:06.600 and Putin is our enemy and they dress it up.
00:57:09.320 But at its core, neoconservatism is an attack on Christianity,
00:57:16.260 on the belief that all people have souls
00:57:18.940 and they're united in that.
00:57:20.420 that people cannot be treated like animals or objects,
00:57:23.740 that there are limits to human power.
00:57:25.260 There's some things you can't do.
00:57:26.640 You're not allowed to do them.
00:57:29.580 Neoconservatism is a rejection of that.
00:57:31.440 And that, by the way,
00:57:32.180 is the basis of Western civilization.
00:57:34.060 So neoconservatism, of course, Satan lies,
00:57:37.200 isn't a defense of Western civilization.
00:57:39.580 It is a direct assault on it
00:57:41.620 and all of its precepts that make it Western, 1.00
00:57:44.440 that make it different from the East
00:57:45.600 or from what Dickens called the heathen world.
00:57:49.400 it is an attack on christianity and most people who espouse it probably don't know that and it's
00:57:55.240 sad to say but also true that a lot of the people who are spouting these ideas and calling for
00:58:00.460 murdering this or that person are actually nice people and i know that because i know them and
00:58:04.320 that would include lindsey graham he's one of the most charming people ever ever no one would turn
00:58:08.940 down a dinner invitation from lindsey graham because he was like hilarious and fun to be with
00:58:12.500 sorry that's just a fact but the ideas themselves are diseased and how sad is it to watch people
00:58:18.540 you know and like personally espouse those ideas in public with moral certainty now one of the
00:58:24.540 reasons you know that killing is the whole point not saving life but extinguishing it is the point
00:58:28.660 is by the studied indifference of advocates of the ukrainian government
00:58:33.380 indifference to how many ukrainians have died so if you really believe that it's worth fighting a
00:58:40.540 war against a country you can't beat which would be russia then you have to answer why do you
00:58:47.140 believe that and they will always say well because this is wrong and we need to protect the sovereignty
00:58:51.420 of ukraine and you'll give a speech all of us have heard many many times but you would think anyone 0.98
00:58:57.160 giving that speech would be giving it on behalf of the ukrainian people so there would be a point
00:59:01.720 at which they might ask how many ukrainians have died in this effort to save ukrainians
00:59:05.220 how many ukrainians have died in the effort to save ukrainians and yet not only do they not ask
00:59:11.160 that question they don't care at all they don't ask it privately they don't know if you press
00:59:16.440 them privately like in a gentleman like how many people died in this world no idea they don't care
00:59:21.020 so if you don't care about the deaths of other people it's fair to assume over time like five
00:59:25.800 years that you probably applaud them and how sad is that to see how sad to see the total distortion
00:59:34.440 of decent people by these ideas which again at root are an attack against the core precepts
00:59:40.600 of christianity so here's an example from fox news just the other day but for me for the way
00:59:45.580 they innovated drone technology in order to take out what's fueling the russian war machine
00:59:50.900 is phenomenal to be writing about this way in war journals forever the ukrainians have modernized
00:59:57.600 modern war before our very i'm not so sure that's a positive brian i mean there are 30 000 young men
01:00:03.500 on each side that are dying every single month putin every single month we should not be
01:00:08.860 practicing drone you know technology we need and using these kids as guinea pigs if you've seen
01:00:14.740 the videos the war is good a war other people's sons are fighting and now their daughters
01:00:21.880 apparently and their sons with down syndrome and their fathers in their mid-50s the entire
01:00:27.180 population is fighting and losing a war in eastern europe at the behest of leaders in the west and
01:00:33.360 thought leaders like the one you just saw and they're being decimated the historic nation is 0.99
01:00:38.400 gone and will not be rebuilt it'll be repopulated by people from south asia just a fact so that's 1.00
01:00:43.820 a tragedy but you look at that it's an avoidable tragedy that we caused but you look at that and 1.00
01:00:49.740 your conclusion is what we're getting valuable drone technology as watching other people's kids
01:00:53.600 die by the way since i know everyone on that set i can tell you they're all super nice people
01:00:58.320 who love their kids and have good values and go to church they're not monsters at all
01:01:02.080 but that idea is monstrous and it is being repeated uncritically at every level of our
01:01:11.960 leadership? That the upside of war is Raytheon shareholders make money? Can you hear yourself?
01:01:21.060 This is disgusting. And no nation that puts that as a priority, killing people in exchange for a
01:01:31.460 rise in defense tech stocks, can long endure. It's too disgusting. And ultimately, a nation like that,
01:01:40.060 that allows itself to become totally callous to human life
01:01:43.580 that celebrates an infanticide bill
01:01:45.480 or looks at the Ukraine war and says,
01:01:48.100 we're getting valuable drone technology, 0.86
01:01:50.400 a society like that will destroy itself.
01:01:53.540 It won't be destroyed from the outside.
01:01:54.840 It'll be destroyed from within
01:01:55.900 because people will lose all love for each other.
01:02:00.580 The sympathy that binds the nation together,
01:02:03.340 the idea that, oh, you're an American.
01:02:05.220 You know, we're in an airport in Frankfurt,
01:02:06.480 but you speak American accent in English.
01:02:08.060 I don't know who you are.
01:02:08.660 maybe you're a different color or whatever,
01:02:10.160 but we're American, we're in this together on some level,
01:02:12.860 that dies.
01:02:14.900 And Americans lose sympathy for each other
01:02:16.700 and therefore cohesion and therefore the country collapses.
01:02:19.220 That's exactly where that goes and is indeed going.
01:02:23.220 Here's a clip that just kind of says it all.
01:02:26.740 So there was a woman called Christina Pike,
01:02:28.680 I think is her name. 0.62
01:02:29.420 She's a murderer, not defending her, never would. 0.99
01:02:32.600 She killed somebody and she's been sentenced to death.
01:02:36.020 and however you feel about women being executed,
01:02:39.580 for the record, against it. 0.98
01:02:41.360 Our society exists to protect women. 0.99
01:02:42.720 Sorry, that's patriarchal. 0.99
01:02:44.880 You're not supposed to send them to go die in war
01:02:46.520 with their limbs blown off by landmines
01:02:48.140 or be executed just against it. 1.00
01:02:49.580 Sorry, call me Libra. 0.98
01:02:52.180 Liberals, of course, are totally for it.
01:02:53.300 But the point is,
01:02:54.400 whatever you think of the idea
01:02:55.780 that this woman was executed
01:02:58.640 or sent to be executed,
01:03:01.560 any normal person would pause when learning
01:03:04.620 that the prison failed twice to execute her. Now, this is not the first failed botched execution
01:03:11.620 in human history. There have been many, and they're famous. Why are they famous? Because
01:03:16.280 in civilized countries, Britain, for example, at one point in history, civilized countries
01:03:23.120 looked at botched executions, particularly repeated botched executions, and said, wait a
01:03:28.300 second, maybe there's a message here for us. And you can look it up, and they're fascinating to
01:03:32.480 read about there are a number of instances from english history american australian the civilized
01:03:38.900 countries in which a condemned man dropped through the trap door in the gallows and the rope broke
01:03:45.840 and in some cases broke twice and spectators at the execution who had come to gawk come for the
01:03:51.600 most ghoulish possible motives said whoa wait a second the rope broke twice maybe there's a message
01:03:58.840 there. Maybe we're not in charge of the universe. Maybe God himself is weighing in on this question.
01:04:04.180 And in a number of instances, which you can read about, the crowd at the execution pressured
01:04:11.660 authorities by yelling at them to stop trying to kill this guy and acknowledge that maybe something
01:04:16.660 else was going on here. And in some cases, they just let the guy go. Sorry, we tried to kill you
01:04:21.520 twice and it didn't work. Clearly, there's something going on. God has a say in this too.
01:04:28.840 so this woman christina pike apparently tried to kill her twice and didn't work through lethal 0.55
01:04:32.640 injection and probably going to try it again so a longtime conservative and religious
01:04:40.360 commentator commented on this the other day and and is a very nice guy by the way glenn beck
01:04:47.840 jovial seems kind to his family but the callousness the cruelty the wanton cruelty expressed in this
01:04:56.960 clip should make you wonder about our future unless we pull back from this here's glenn beck
01:05:02.300 executions work you know it's like what's her what's her name uh ricky uh you know who's like
01:05:09.400 i can't use my arms anymore because you yeah yeah that was the point you know you weren't supposed
01:05:16.280 to use your arms or your legs or any other part of your body that was the point when they were 0.60
01:05:20.740 trying to execute you yeah krista pike so um she says she's confused now well she was supposed to 0.53
01:05:29.080 be brain dead i mean she was supposed to be dead dead and then when she didn't die they said she 0.94
01:05:33.540 was brain dead and then she came back of course she's confused of course she's confused uh she
01:05:39.200 was supposed to be dead uh and i'm sorry but i told you i told you the minute it happened they're
01:05:46.280 going to make a case that you know this is gruel and unusual punishment and you botched it and so
01:05:50.260 she shouldn't be executed again no i don't know why we rushed her to the hospital and we were 0.90
01:05:54.340 trying to save her you're executing her execute her do it again you know if that's conservative 0.99
01:06:03.640 most decent people will be out i mean make a case that what she did was worthy of the death penalty
01:06:08.960 okay but to mock her because she's paralyzed and was brain dead now she's back and shut up and 1.00
01:06:14.920 kill her as a human being by the way she's a fellow american who you know obviously gave up 0.99
01:06:18.720 a lot of her rights by murdering someone, not defending her in any way, but to look at the case
01:06:23.380 and feel that it's like outrageous that anyone would feel sympathy for this woman. Well, she's
01:06:27.840 a person, and a woman, by the way. Aren't you a man? Isn't your duty on this earth to protect
01:06:33.620 women? Apparently not. Giving up that duty. Send them to the front lines in Ukraine.
01:06:38.220 We'll get valuable drone technology out of it. Glenn Beck's opinion on whether this woman is
01:06:45.400 executed again probably will have no material effect on the outcome, but it's a window into
01:06:49.940 his total degradation and the degradation of the rest of us who sort of nod along and be like,
01:06:54.780 yeah, yeah, she killed someone. I've never committed any crime at all.
01:06:59.620 I've been treated totally justly. I've been punished for every bad thing I've done. Who can
01:07:03.300 say that? Again, it's not an argument against the death penalty, though you can make a pretty good
01:07:08.980 argument against the death penalty, and we probably should. It's an argument against callousness and
01:07:14.480 self-righteousness. And it's an acknowledgement that if you engage in callousness and self-righteousness
01:07:20.000 long enough, you'll be their victim. What goes around comes around. That is a fact of nature
01:07:28.240 and of theology. So slow down, Mr. Self-Righteous Guy, mocking the woman whose arms are paralyzed.
01:07:34.880 She's not suffering enough. Do you even know anything about the crime? Are you just taking
01:07:38.940 joy in the suffering of another human being. So if you talk this way enough, if our leaders talk
01:07:45.220 this way enough, if they encourage callousness toward fellow Americans, do you think it changes
01:07:49.300 the behavior of Americans? Well, of course it does. If you tell people that the people who
01:07:54.820 oppose you are not fully human, they're just Palestinians, you can kill them, 75,000 of them, 1.00
01:08:00.820 who cares then after a while they're going to behave like that's true take a look at this tape 1.00
01:08:10.520 watch this tape this is from a recent trump rally yes he's still doing rallies and a protester in
01:08:16.600 the back sure we disagree with her on a lot of things she seems to be american however gets up
01:08:21.440 with a shirt that says like release the epstein files watch for yourself watch what happens to her 0.97
01:08:25.420 when she does that paid protest 1.00
01:08:28.300 U.S.! U.S.! U.S.! U.S.! 1.00
01:08:54.300 These are paid protests, or they're all paid.
01:08:57.300 they get paid by the lefties in order to destroy our country they're scum
01:09:03.760 just punch her in the face trump calls her scum punching women in the face again it's remarkable
01:09:12.180 the extent to which the conservative leadership has internalized the most repulsive and untrue
01:09:19.180 lie of the feminist movement which they purport to oppose and that is the sexes are identical
01:09:24.960 and have identical roles and identical obligations. 0.98
01:09:27.200 That's not true anywhere in nature.
01:09:30.080 It's not true in the animal kingdom, among plants,
01:09:31.940 and it's definitely not true among people.
01:09:33.960 It is materially different to punch a woman in the face
01:09:36.780 than it is to punch a man in the face.
01:09:38.320 And in a lot of ways,
01:09:39.180 our legal code reflects that obvious truth.
01:09:42.280 And so you should be, as a man, 1.00
01:09:44.180 upset to see a woman, 0.82
01:09:45.240 even if you despise what she's saying,
01:09:48.300 punched in the face by a man.
01:09:49.780 Your impulse should be to protect her, period.
01:09:52.040 That's your job.
01:09:53.680 Nature ordains that.
01:09:55.160 It's not up to you.
01:09:56.620 And any society that loses touch
01:09:58.600 with that unchanging fact has lost its honor.
01:10:02.400 What's worth defending? 1.00
01:10:04.180 If you're sending women to go die on the front lines, 1.00
01:10:07.000 what's the point of the military in the first place?
01:10:08.460 I thought it was to protect the women and the children.
01:10:12.160 Now they get to go die? 0.98
01:10:13.600 That's equality? 0.70
01:10:14.460 No, it's degradation.
01:10:16.420 And any normal person feels that instantly.
01:10:19.500 show a hundred people, a hundred men, video of a man getting punched in the face, and they'll say,
01:10:24.820 you go, you get him. I don't know what he did, but yeah, they support it. How about a woman
01:10:29.280 having her nose broken? No normal man finds that appealing. They recoil because it's disgusting 1.00
01:10:37.540 inherently. But we have gotten to a place where some woman says, release the Epstein files. It's
01:10:42.460 hardly like a left-wing trope. If that's left-wing, then we need to, I think we need to redefine the
01:10:49.280 terms. It's left wing. I don't want to know anything more about Epstein. I think he was
01:10:54.160 drinking grape soda and eating pizza. No doubt about it. And anyone who says he wasn't is a
01:10:58.080 liberal. Yeah, that's not really how the terms are defined, actually. But whatever. She gets up and
01:11:07.100 says, release the Epstein files. And some guy punches her in the face. And the president of
01:11:10.740 the United States says, you're scum. What the hell is going on? Because again, this is the president.
01:11:15.920 we're not just singling out trump was hardly the worst offender here but he is the president
01:11:23.420 the most powerful president in the world we were told before we learned he has no power at all but
01:11:28.300 whatever he's still symbolically important and he is encouraging violence against this person for
01:11:34.780 making a totally normal in fact you could argue conservative point at this rally what message
01:11:41.200 are we being trained to receive? Well, you don't really have to overthink it.
01:11:49.420 We're being trained to believe that violence against other people, including our fellow 0.53
01:11:55.500 Americans, is totally fine. It's normal. It's the same message that the Bolsheviks went out 1.00
01:12:01.760 of their way during the Russian Civil War and in the years after to deliver to the Russian people. 0.92
01:12:06.340 it's totally normal to execute people to crucify them which the bolsheviks did 0.89
01:12:11.700 to murder all your clergy it's like totally normal this is just how the state works 0.98
01:12:15.380 fall in line and we'll do it to you
01:12:17.780 are we really being trained to believe that is that just paranoia i don't know take a look at
01:12:26.120 president trump's truth social post from today this is real by the way watch
01:12:30.860 what was that well i mean there are probably many levels
01:13:00.860 of meaning there, but on the most obvious, that was video of human beings getting killed by wild
01:13:06.560 animals, like in the Colosseum. That was people, just a kind of jump cut of people being eaten by
01:13:14.160 lions and tigers. Some apparently are AI generated, some are real, doesn't matter.
01:13:18.960 The president of the United States just sent that out with reference to nothing as a non-sequitur.
01:13:22.780 Oh, by the way, here's some video of people getting killed by big cats. Huh? I mean,
01:13:28.980 you know there's a kind of chaotic quality to trump that's appealing under certain circumstances
01:13:34.160 but that's not chaotic that's a constructed video of people getting eaten by wild animals
01:13:42.080 what could possibly be the point of sending that out over your social media channels
01:13:47.860 well there are probably many points again but the most obvious one is i would like to desensitize you
01:13:55.620 to cruelty suffering and death now why would they want to do that why would your leader
01:14:03.020 ever want you to be desensitized to human suffering and death i don't know but it can't
01:14:10.060 be good it doesn't portend a rosy tomorrow it's not good news for you and then you have to ask
01:14:18.460 where is this going so we've been thinking about this for a full year a little more than a year
01:14:24.020 actually. Since early last summer, Tulsi Gabbard, who was the director of national intelligence,
01:14:30.440 put together a video that decried the horrors of nuclear war. Of course, only two bombs have
01:14:38.440 ever been dropped against populations in the summer of 1945 in Hiroshima and then Nagasaki.
01:14:44.940 And hundreds of thousands of people were incinerated and many died later of radiation
01:14:47.960 related illness. And Tulsi Gabbard has been saying for many, many years, over 10 years,
01:14:53.400 that her main concern as a public official,
01:14:55.740 a member of Congress,
01:14:56.400 and then a member of Trump's cabinet,
01:14:59.380 that we are moving toward a nuclear exchange.
01:15:03.780 So last summer, in her capacity as a Trump official,
01:15:06.760 she put together this little video that just said,
01:15:08.840 hey, just to remind you,
01:15:11.200 nuclear explosions are the worst thing.
01:15:13.540 They kill the most people.
01:15:14.900 They have the longest lasting effect.
01:15:16.580 It's a freaking nightmare.
01:15:17.960 Nothing is worse than a nuclear exchange.
01:15:20.220 It very easily has the potential
01:15:21.700 to eliminate all life from this planet,
01:15:24.020 not just human, but all life,
01:15:26.140 make it unusable for millions of years.
01:15:29.000 And so we should know that.
01:15:31.080 So we exercise restraint
01:15:32.760 and make wise decisions to avert it.
01:15:35.200 That's it.
01:15:35.840 That's all she did.
01:15:37.360 And two things happened almost immediately after.
01:15:39.480 One, Trump exploded in rage, including to me.
01:15:42.920 So I know that happened.
01:15:44.560 He was outraged.
01:15:45.720 What is she doing?
01:15:47.200 I don't know, making a point that you made
01:15:48.940 for years and years and years,
01:15:50.460 citing your uncle the mit professor nuclear war is the worst thing you don't know how destructive a
01:15:55.000 nuclear weapon is trump often said this in private and in public nuclear war is the worst thing it's
01:16:01.180 scarier than people know so here you have your director of national intelligence just repeating
01:16:05.980 what you have said many times and it outrages you why is that what has changed well the butler
01:16:11.380 shooting for one and maybe other things but trump was outraged but so critically was the entire
01:16:19.720 neoconservative mob the cheerleaders for endless war the death cult here is an amazing analysis
01:16:29.960 by ben shapiro and every time we play ben shapiro club feel a little guilty because like why are we
01:16:33.920 elevating this guy in his eyebrows but still he reveals unintentionally the entire program
01:16:39.640 not his program not the podcast the failing podcast but the the program the plan
01:16:46.060 unintentionally. So here is, and watch this carefully, here is Ben Shapiro's response
01:16:52.620 to Tulsi Gabbard saying, you know, nuclear war is not good. Watch this.
01:16:57.000 Tulsi Gabbard, of course, has presidential aspirations of her own. And she put out a 1.00
01:17:01.660 very bizarre video that I think speaks to the horseshoe theory connection between the
01:17:07.160 isolationist right and the Howard Zinn left, which sound almost identical. This video made
01:17:12.680 a lot of waves for good reason, mainly because many of the things she's saying here are pretty
01:17:16.700 egregious. Here is Tulsi Gabbard, the DNI. I recently visited Hiroshima in Japan and stood
01:17:23.980 at the epicenter of a city that remains scarred by the unimaginable horror caused by a single
01:17:29.980 nuclear bomb dropped in 1945, 80 years ago. This attack obliterated the city, killed over 300,000
01:17:37.820 people, many dying instantly, while others died from severe burns, injuries, radiation
01:17:43.600 sickness, and cancer that set in in the following months and years.
01:17:48.560 Yes, dropping an atomic weapon has massive consequences.
01:17:52.660 Yes, there is carnage that emerges from dropping a nuclear weapon.
01:17:55.980 Everyone knows this, and no one is taking that lightly.
01:17:58.380 But why is she dropping this?
01:17:59.360 It's such a strange thing.
01:18:01.220 This happened in 1945.
01:18:02.440 It is now 80 years later, and she is dropping a video about how terrible the dropping of
01:18:08.960 the A-bomb was.
01:18:10.000 This kind of bizarre retcon of American history, where America was the bad guy in World War
01:18:14.520 II because we dropped an A-bomb, actually two A-bombs, in order to end World War II.
01:18:20.260 That is historical revisionism of the highest order. 0.53
01:18:23.780 So it's pretty funny.
01:18:25.880 So first he's like, yeah, well, this is what happens when you're a fringe character.
01:18:29.380 like the horseshoe theory like if you're a total wacko lefty a marxist if you're marxist or if
01:18:36.040 you're like a total right-wing extreme if you're a nazi you agree on everything only the fringes
01:18:40.940 agree unlike me ben shapiro sits squarely in the middle of american public opinion
01:18:44.900 what's the percentage of americans who are okay with the nuclear exchange
01:18:49.720 not very high outside the daily wire and like the white house and the israeli embassy pretty small
01:18:54.920 actually most people are sort of against exterminating all human life so that's not a
01:18:59.880 fringe position that's the position of the overwhelming majority of people on the planet
01:19:04.560 the fringe players are the ones who think it's okay and in that group is ben shapiro which leads
01:19:09.060 to the second point which is amazing this a guy with outside verbal outsized verbal skills but
01:19:15.580 not a super high iq is an amazing vehicle for actually revealing the truth unintentionally
01:19:20.080 and that's exactly who he is.
01:19:21.740 So he says, why is she bringing this up?
01:19:25.100 80 years later, like, why is this relevant?
01:19:28.580 I don't know.
01:19:30.180 Maybe because you want the United States 0.94
01:19:32.360 to use nuclear weapons on behalf of Israel, 0.99
01:19:33.940 which obviously he does.
01:19:36.100 And by the way, if it's irrelevant,
01:19:37.360 why are you upset about it?
01:19:38.260 If she's just doing some like kooky,
01:19:40.780 you know, little piece on World War II,
01:19:44.600 why is that, you know, why be mad about it?
01:19:47.040 Why devote precious airtime on the Daily Wire
01:19:49.500 to denouncing it because she's getting in your way. That's why. Tulsi Gabbard, whatever you think 0.89
01:19:54.720 of her, knew early that neocons want a nuclear exchange, which they do openly now. 0.97
01:20:05.900 They want a nuclear exchange. Most people don't want a nuclear exchange. Tulsi Gabbard called
01:20:13.180 that early, and that's why they're attacking her. Now think about that for a minute.
01:20:16.120 in what world could you openly and now they are openly call for a nuclear exchange
01:20:23.420 only a world that had gone completely crazy well how did that world go crazy
01:20:27.120 well through words that's how the world always goes crazy so here's how it works you can speak
01:20:38.400 reality into existence you can make things true by repeating them it is often noted that a lie
01:20:45.640 repeated often enough will be accepted as the truth. What's too seldom noted is that the lie
01:20:50.360 will actually in some sense become true simply through words, otherwise known as spells or
01:20:57.460 incantations. I mean, this is sort of recognized as a witchcraft principle. It's almost never
01:21:02.840 acknowledged as just a human principle. If you keep saying something long enough, it is likely
01:21:07.300 to happen. Trump believes this, but you can see it all around you. Do you remember the first time
01:21:11.560 you heard of gay marriage in the 80s? No matter how liberal you are, you're like, well, that's
01:21:15.520 not going to happen. Gay marriage? What? Like Steve meets Steve? People made fun of it. Liberal 1.00
01:21:21.480 people. Democrats made fun of it. In fact, all Democrats opposed it. In fact, they voted to ban
01:21:25.980 it. That's how much they opposed it. This wasn't that long ago. I remember it. I was there for the
01:21:32.300 vote. So this wasn't in the 1920s. This was like 20 minutes ago. This was in the 2000s.
01:21:38.980 The state of California had a referendum that banned gay marriage. The state of California.
01:21:43.560 Can you imagine if you woke up tomorrow and it's like, oh, by the way, California voters
01:21:46.860 just banned gay marriage?
01:21:48.140 You'd be like, what?
01:21:49.220 Well, that's clearly false.
01:21:50.260 Well, they did.
01:21:51.880 Less than 20 years ago, they did.
01:21:53.980 And now, of course, it's like you're a freak for saying there's something wrong with gay
01:21:57.040 marriage.
01:21:57.420 What are you, like a weirdo?
01:21:58.860 You're like, I don't know, some kind of extremist?
01:22:01.480 So in 20 years, whatever you think of it, it's not an argument either way, but just
01:22:05.440 acknowledging that's what happened.
01:22:06.800 Well, how did that happen?
01:22:08.320 Just by saying there's nothing wrong with this, it's great.
01:22:10.100 and over a while over a period pretty short period people just accepted it do you remember
01:22:16.780 the first time you heard the idea that a man could become a woman again no matter how liberal you are
01:22:21.240 the first time you heard that you're like what a man can become a woman how by like wishing it so
01:22:27.180 isn't isn't sex determined at the dna level how can you change your dna well you just you just 0.78
01:22:32.060 wish it that way because you're born another gen and you were like shut up and even if you like 0.78
01:22:36.800 didn't judge transgenders, then called trannies, you were dead certain that there's no chance that 0.97
01:22:43.640 this could ever be widely adopted. There would never be like a boy on your daughter's soccer 0.97
01:22:47.900 team because that's insane. And then in a couple years, again, it's not even taking a side on the
01:22:52.260 question. It's just acknowledging what happened because people kept saying, no, no, this is
01:22:56.280 normal. Most people accepted that it was normal. That's exactly what's happening now. That's why
01:23:04.120 Ben Shapiro was outraged that Tulsi Gabbard would criticize dropping nuclear bombs on civilian
01:23:10.320 populations because he would like to do it. And in fact, they plan to do it. And in fact, 0.51
01:23:14.100 they are changing the internal American nuclear doctrine in order to make it easier to do. That's
01:23:20.400 why they're doing that. It's not like they expect to be hit with a nuclear weapon and have trouble
01:23:24.000 responding. That's already in the nuclear doctrine. The only reason they're changing the nuclear
01:23:28.300 doctrine is they can drop a nuclear bomb in what we used to call a first strike against a non-nuclear
01:23:33.020 armed nation, and thereby risk total annihilation of the global population, 8.3 billion people.
01:23:40.040 And like they're doing it in public. And almost everything we're seeing,
01:23:44.960 the encouragement to feel callous about other human beings, not to love your fellow human
01:23:49.980 beings, the encouragement to become monsters, is preparation for that. Because there is a small
01:23:56.040 and determined group of people who see nuclear war as both inevitable and a fulfillment of some
01:24:03.800 kind and now we're getting into theological territory but it's no less powerful a motivator
01:24:08.480 of human behavior than any other motive and that's absolutely real and we know it's real
01:24:13.740 because the president of the united states just threatened a nuclear strike at the united nations
01:24:19.380 watch this but i have a big decision to make will a deal be made with iran that lets them
01:24:28.820 rebuild and create a far greater country than it ever was before maybe one of the greatest
01:24:35.800 in the middle east or even the world or do i annihilate the islamic republic and do it quickly 0.98
01:24:44.060 never giving them a chance to kill and destroy people and countries again do i drive them into 1.00
01:24:51.820 hell with no chance of survival and no hope of future greatness or generations but i believe
01:24:59.100 we'll make a deal right after the election so just to be totally clear in case anyone tries
01:25:08.540 to lie to you about what you just heard the president say he is not threatening the use
01:25:12.780 of conventional weapons because there is no conventional weapon in the u.s arsenal that can
01:25:17.580 achieve anything like what he just described the total annihilation of a civilization of a nation
01:25:23.100 for centuries with no hope of recovery and an instantaneous annihilation that does not allow time
01:25:28.940 for them to respond there's only one thing he could possibly be describing and it's the thing
01:25:32.860 he is describing which is a first strike with nuclear weapons after which it's hard to know
01:25:39.340 what would happen but it's pretty likely we would be down the road to a total annihilation of
01:25:44.540 everyone on earth so to be clear that's crazy that's reckless that's a crime casually threatening
01:25:55.740 the extermination of the world's population is a crime if you were to talk like that to the clerk
01:26:02.780 at 7-Eleven, you would be arrested for threatening to murder him. And when the President of the
01:26:10.040 United States talks that way about exterminating the entire population of the earth, or even of
01:26:15.540 the 90 million Iranians, that is a crime. And it's only because we have been trained by successive 0.94
01:26:22.920 generations of leaders in this country to accept casual brutality against the innocent that we've
01:26:29.700 been encouraged to hate each other on the basis of our differences to dehumanize each other
01:26:33.600 sufficient that a trump supporter and we're willing to give the benefit of the doubt here
01:26:38.340 is probably a decent law-abiding man who loves his kids is willing to punch a woman in the face
01:26:43.480 in public on camera because she dared to demand the release of the epstein files how deranged have
01:26:50.100 we become utterly deranged and where is this headed to total extermination of the species
01:26:55.840 because that's the terminus. That's where it ends. That's where it always ends. And the only
01:27:01.180 relief from this, the only possible relief from this, the only off-ramp from the cycle of attack
01:27:07.180 and counterattack of blood grudges, of course, is the off-ramp offered in the Sermon on the Mount
01:27:14.380 where you do not respond with violence, where you do not keep a grudge, where you remember
01:27:23.900 that as much as you hate your enemy
01:27:26.580 God provides him sun and rain too
01:27:30.120 and God created him too
01:27:31.360 that we are all human
01:27:32.320 that's not liberal claptrap
01:27:34.040 that's the only thing that keeps us
01:27:36.840 from mutually assured annihilation
01:27:39.040 at the hands of lunatics like this 0.97
01:27:40.880 and Netanyahu and others 0.94
01:27:42.740 that's exactly where we're heading
01:27:44.420 with the encouragement
01:27:45.680 of every institution in American life
01:27:48.900 don't forget the stakes
01:27:53.520 this country founded on true equality not of ability not of outcome but of humanity
01:28:01.580 and when you give that up the logical end is what you just heard and that's an end for all of us
01:28:08.040 thanks a lot for watching tonight
