On this Thanksgiving weekend, many of our fellow Canadians are going without enough food to feed their families. Food banks are overwhelmed with the number of people in need of help. The government is doing all they can to help, but we need to do more.

00:00:00.000 But if you knew that a huge portion of our country was going hungry,
00:00:03.620 you would see it as an emergency and you would do something about it today.
00:00:07.080 And I got a lot of people thanking us for what we're talking about
00:00:09.600 because they're average Canadians who, even if they're retired,
00:00:15.060 are still working because they have to.
00:00:16.680 Right.
00:00:17.180 Because they don't have enough money to feed themselves.
00:00:20.160 They had a plan that no longer works because the economy has crashed around them.
00:00:24.780 They're young people who got the degree like they were told
00:00:27.020 and don't have enough money to do other things,
00:00:30.180 so they're doing extra side hustles to feed themselves.
00:00:33.660 They totally know what's going on,
00:00:35.300 and they totally understand in this country
00:00:37.360 what is happening to average Canadians,
00:00:39.320 especially getting to Thanksgiving weekend.
00:00:41.480 People are desperate for a little help
00:00:43.380 just so they can feed themselves.
00:00:45.400 Like, really thank God for food banks
00:00:47.140 because really what the government has put us in the position to do
00:00:50.560 is barely be able to afford food for our own families,
00:00:54.440 but also we must now take care of
00:00:56.720 And most people, thank goodness, that are approached to help feed another family will certainly do so if possible.
00:01:03.120 But the reality is, even when it is more difficult for your family, even though you can feed yourselves, it will be more difficult to help donate to somebody.
00:01:10.580 You will do it.
00:01:11.380 And that's great on Canadians and food banks because we've been put in this position.
00:01:16.820 And that's, as I say, it does my heart good.
00:01:19.540 It makes me so proud to be Canadian.
00:01:21.160 but all we're asking is when the government is going out of the way to help everybody else
00:01:26.520 just help ourselves now and then take care of our own
