00:00:00.000 No, and that's, for me, these giants, these icons,
00:00:04.740 these titans of broadcasting who came up with the powder blue jackets
00:00:08.780 and the host and the interviews and the Hockey Night in Canada towel
00:00:12.420 and that, and, you know, I get a little emotional thinking about it
00:00:16.020 because I grew up with it, and then I became a broadcaster,
00:00:19.240 and I was telling some of the other day, Steve,
00:00:21.120 I remember covering my first Leafs training camp at Maple Leaf Gardens
00:00:24.380 in September of 95, and Hockey Night in Canada showed up
00:00:27.920 do some feature interviews and it was like the red sea parted with all the other reporters because
00:00:32.400 we were in awe of hockey night coming in to do their features to get ready for the season it
00:00:36.960 was unbelievable and you know we tried a lot of us tried not to let our heads get too big because
00:00:43.920 it kind of was like that we were royalty walking in but we just tried to we just have this job to
00:00:50.000 do we just want to focus on our job and do the best job we can but i remember looking around and
00:00:56.480 seeing people looking at us like, wow,
00:01:00.240 you guys know how, like, this is a big deal.
00:01:03.240 We did know, but we're like,
00:01:04.580 we just tried to be one of the group.
00:01:06.980 But yeah, when you walk in on those jackets,
00:01:09.200 you're kind of a target for people to say,
00:01:11.940 oh, wow, hockey nights here.
00:01:13.540 This must be a big deal.
00:01:15.860 Yeah, it is.
