Valuetainment - “An A$$hole Factory” - Bill Maher TORCHES Harvard Ties To CCP & Defends Trump

00:00:00.000 Harvard University, in particular its Kennedy School of Government, has been a key destination for Chinese Communist Party officials,

00:00:04.660 earning the nickname Party School in China.

00:00:06.220 As noted in 2014 Shanghai Observer commentary,

00:00:10.100 if we were to rank the Chinese Communist Party's overseas party schools,

00:00:13.840 the one deserving top spot has to be Harvard University's Kennedy School of Government in the U.S.

00:00:21.060 The Trump administration, led by Mark Rubio, announced by Wednesday a plan to tighten visa criteria for Chinese students with Communist Party ties,

00:00:27.540 potentially revoking visas for those in critical fields,

00:00:31.240 prompting Chinese foreign ministry spokeswomen mounting to state,

00:00:35.460 seriously damage the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese students.

00:00:38.380 Go ahead, Rob.

00:00:39.460 Meanwhile, as the Trump administration works to cap Harvard's foreign enrollment,

00:00:43.420 a new Wall Street Journal report outlines how much the university has become a training ground for CCP leadership,

00:00:50.120 all on the American taxpayer's dime.

00:00:52.680 The list goes on and on.

00:00:53.840 You have a former vice president, a former vice premier, the country's current top trade negotiator.

00:00:59.880 They have all passed through Harvard's elite programs.

00:01:03.200 According to the report, they affectionately call it their, quote,

00:01:06.280 party school and not the party like the fraternity.

00:01:09.500 It's raising serious questions about how much influence Beijing has gained inside our own institutions.

00:01:17.320 Okay.

00:01:18.020 Tom, your thoughts on this?

00:01:19.100 So my first thought is this, Brendan.

00:01:23.820 What's up?

00:01:24.720 I tell you, listen, over the next 10 years, this is what I want to do.

00:01:28.080 I want you to get 20 of our best and brightest students,

00:01:32.320 and I want to get them into universities in Beijing,

00:01:36.060 and I want them to study foreign policy over there,

00:01:38.560 and I want them to, you know,

00:01:40.380 assimilate with classmates and get really close to people.

00:01:44.300 And really what we're going to do is a shadow spy network.

00:01:48.880 We're also going to learn everything we can over there.

00:01:51.580 Okay.

00:01:52.440 You go over to China and try to do that. 1.00

00:01:55.400 How many minutes does it take for them to throw you out on your ass? 1.00

00:01:59.080 Yeah, in seconds. 1.00

00:02:00.080 Seconds.

00:02:00.800 Correct.

00:02:01.480 And we allowed it.

00:02:02.840 So I look at it, Pat.

00:02:03.820 We allowed this.

00:02:05.300 We freaking allowed it.

00:02:06.580 You know, in the name of globalism, we allowed them to do what they would never allow us to do.

00:02:14.980 Look at social media over there, over here.

00:02:17.160 How many examples do we need?

00:02:18.860 It shocks me that we are so shocked.

00:02:21.960 There's my point.

00:02:23.180 I love it.

00:02:23.860 I love it.

00:02:24.260 Brandon, your thoughts on this?

00:02:25.740 Yeah, no.

00:02:26.280 China's one of the biggest donors to Harvard,

00:02:28.140 and Harvard's a weird thing where it gets, like,

00:02:30.000 all these privileges from the government where it's a tax-exempt organization.

00:02:32.840 They got their big, giant endowment.

00:02:34.620 And, you know, they've had a lot of CIA work done there.

00:02:37.960 So I think Harvard needs to have a lot more attention paid to it.

00:02:41.480 And, yeah, Tom's right that we don't treat other countries the same way that they would treat us 0.59

00:02:45.220 in a lot of these situations when it comes in terms of defying national security.

00:02:48.680 Like, when I went to school, there were, like, kids who were from the Middle East

00:02:53.140 who were driving Ferraris and stuff that, like, their parents were, like, oil tycoons and whatnot.

00:02:57.100 Like, in my national security classes, like, learning about, you know,

00:02:59.780 like, how the CIA works and how the NSA works and everything. 0.94

00:03:02.300 So it's ridiculous. 0.87

00:03:03.280 It's a joke. 0.83

00:03:04.280 Yeah.

00:03:04.620 And, by the way, while this is going on, there's a story that comes out from Newsweek.

00:03:07.860 Xi Jinping's daughter faces called to be deported from U.S.

00:03:11.140 Laura Loomer called for the deportation of Chinese president Xi Jinping's daughter, 0.97

00:03:16.100 Xi Mingzhi, claiming she lives in Massachusetts and went to Harvard,

00:03:19.960 and alleging PLA guards from CCP provide her private security on the U.S. soil.

00:03:23.980 Though no public evidence supports Mingzhi's current U.S. residency,

00:03:28.880 as a New Yorker reported, she returned to China in 2015 after graduating from Harvard University.

00:03:33.480 Loomer's allegations follow Secretary Marco Rubio's announcement that U.S.

00:03:36.960 will aggressively revoke visas for Chinese students.

00:03:39.160 Adam, your thoughts on this?

00:03:40.060 So there's three things going on here.

00:03:41.560 Number one, follow the money.

00:03:44.280 You import these international students, the best and brightest minds in the world.

00:03:49.200 You train top talents.

00:03:50.480 And then you just send them back to their countries with all our culture, with all our information, 1.00

00:03:57.040 and then just their countries reap the benefits for the four, five, ten years that they spend in the United States.

00:04:03.740 This, to me, is reverse ROI.

00:04:06.960 So they get to build the future in their country but learn it here in America.

00:04:13.260 This makes absolutely no sense to me.

00:04:14.980 If you're going to have these people here, you keep them here and let them be an asset for America.

00:04:20.840 And then you've come out to find that Xi Jinping, what's his job again?

00:04:24.960 Oh, the communist dictator of China?

00:04:27.980 His daughter goes where?

00:04:29.920 To Harvard?

00:04:31.340 Are you flipping kidding me?

00:04:33.000 You don't think she's reporting back to daddy?

00:04:36.140 Un-freaking-believable.

00:04:36.940 Then you have the whole situation with, remember the FIRE results, that the freedom information of repressive expression, whatever it is,

00:04:48.380 basically what the least free university is in the world as far as free speech?

00:04:54.360 Harvard.

00:04:55.740 So then you have the whole situation that's happening with Trump, the war that Trump is waging on Trump.

00:05:00.580 I think he's basically hijacking or holding back $3 billion.

00:05:03.940 By the way, Harvard has what, $50 billion endowment?

00:05:07.340 Yeah.

00:05:07.820 So there's a whole conversation of what's happening with Trump and Harvard.

00:05:13.900 But there's no free speech.

00:05:15.800 They indoctrinate.

00:05:16.800 They don't educate.

00:05:17.920 And this is my biggest problem with Harvard.

00:05:19.960 They're raising an entire class of our citizens who not only don't love America, they don't barely like America.

00:05:29.580 They hate America.

00:05:30.860 And Harvard's supposed to be this bastion of free speech and this intellectual, amazing community.

00:05:36.860 And they seem to be like they hate America.

00:05:39.080 And they're getting more pressure today than ever before, and rightfully so.

00:05:43.320 Exactly.

00:05:43.980 Rightfully so is what's happening today right now. 1.00

00:05:46.420 And I'm glad it is taking place to the point where Bill Maher blasts Trump, blasts, backs Trump, blasts Harvard University in an asshole. 1.00

00:05:55.660 It's an asshole factory. 1.00

00:05:56.740 Watch this one. 1.00

00:05:57.320 You go for it.

00:05:57.920 The Harvard situation.

00:05:59.980 Trump has declared full-scale war on Harvard.

00:06:04.160 And like so many things he does, there's a kernel of a good idea there. 0.96

00:06:09.120 I mean, I've been shitting on Harvard long before he was. 0.96

00:06:11.880 Look at that. 0.99

00:06:12.820 Oh, you went to Cornell.

00:06:14.520 That's not why. 1.00

00:06:15.540 It's because Harvard is an asshole factory in a lot of ways that produces smirking fuckfaces. 1.00

00:06:25.640 Okay. 1.00

00:06:26.440 Thank you.

00:06:27.740 Can I just go to Harvard?

00:06:29.820 He has three degrees from Harvard.

00:06:32.740 He has three degrees from Harvard.

00:06:34.200 So he is present company accepted.

00:06:36.460 I think we have tripled. 0.99

00:06:38.820 He's a fuckface times three. 0.99

00:06:40.580 Well, okay. 1.00

00:06:41.320 Says the Dartmouth guy.

00:06:42.420 But I could name a lot of people.

00:06:44.240 You know who I'm talking about.

00:06:46.300 There you go.

00:06:47.140 I mean, when you get the sides on the left end agreeing with Trump on what's going on with Harvard,

00:06:53.140 this is probably the worst season for Harvard.

00:06:55.180 Harvard's not in a good place right now with everything that they're getting exposed with.

00:06:57.840 But back to back to back, you know how some brands get a black eye and then you wonder how they recovered from it?

00:07:05.540 Like, you know, Budweiser, we saw them go through until Dana White came and saved them.

00:07:09.580 And I don't even know if they fully saved them yet or not.

00:07:11.940 I don't know if they've recovered from it, right?

00:07:13.520 You go through AIG.

00:07:15.440 They got a black eye in 2008.

00:07:17.260 They recovered from it.

00:07:18.300 People forgot about what happened to AIG because of a great CEO, Bob and Moshe.

00:07:21.680 I don't know how Harvard's going to recover from this anytime soon because they're losing people from the left,

00:07:26.980 the right, and the center.

00:07:28.380 They're not just losing people from one side.

00:07:30.500 They're losing people from all sides.

00:07:31.880 So it'll be interesting to see how they make their next moves to get back in the market again

00:07:37.380 of being an attractive place for parents to want to send their kids to school.

00:07:42.040 If you believe the future looks bright and you live in Florida, Texas, California, or New York,

00:07:49.260 in that order, by the way, of the hats, the hats are available for your state where you get to where future looks bright

00:07:54.760 and on the site has your state on it.

00:07:57.620 I think the Florida numbered hats, there's three left on the numbers for Florida,

00:08:00.780 but the rest of them there's a few left for you to go order, Rob.

00:08:04.380 Do you have a video on this or no with the hats?

00:08:06.180 Yep.

00:08:07.300 Press the video on this here.

00:08:08.380 You can go ahead and play it.

00:08:09.780 And it tells you.

00:08:10.660 So on the cover it says future looks bright.

00:08:13.040 Vitamin logo on the other side.

00:08:14.280 You got Florida, California, Texas, and New York.

00:08:18.740 If you're proud of your state, where you live in, and you believe the future looks bright, go sport it.

00:08:25.040 And by the way, we got emails from people saying, how about our state?

00:08:28.340 How about this?

00:08:29.020 How about that?

00:08:29.820 Look, we even had a couple guys that order the hats and send it to people that live in Texas, New York, California, and Florida.

00:08:35.680 And a lot of good commentary.

00:08:37.200 I was tagged on a bunch of different gifts that people got.

00:08:39.340 So go place your order.

00:08:40.120 Go to vtmerch.com.

00:08:41.080 Place the order for the hat that represents your state.

00:08:43.200 Or buy it as a gift for somebody that lives in those states.
