Valuetainment - ＂Don't Vote Like You Did Back Home＂ - Florida Sheriff GOES OFF On Liberals FLEEING To Red States

00:00:00.000 I'm assuming you don't have a lot of illegal immigrants in Polk County.

00:00:02.720 Well, we have illegal immigrants in Polk County, just like we do in every other county across this country. 0.98

00:00:08.460 How do you handle that? What is your relationship with them? 1.00

00:00:11.140 Here's what we do.

00:00:12.680 Florida law says we will assist our federal partners.

00:00:17.300 And I tell folks I don't do anything different today than I did in the Biden administration,

00:00:22.720 than I did in the last Trump administration, than I did in the Obama administration.

00:00:27.700 When we are working, we run a warrants check on everybody.

00:00:35.340 Consensual encounters, traffic stops, suspects, witnesses, victims.

00:00:41.040 If we find there's a warrant out for the arrest, whether it is a criminal warrant or an ICE warrant,

00:00:49.340 then if it's an ICE warrant, we call ICE up and say, 0.83

00:00:53.760 we're detaining a guy that's here illegally in this country. Do you want him or not? They say

00:01:00.960 yes or no. They say yes, we take him to the jail, and then within 48 hours, they have to pick them

00:01:06.660 up. The difference is, since President Trump's gotten back into office, he's done a remarkable

00:01:13.920 job immediately at sealing off the border. And now the job is, how do you remove the 10 to 20

00:01:21.680 million people that are in the country illegally. Well, it is physically impossible to get all 10 1.00

00:01:31.340 or 20 million people out through the due process system in your life or their lives. So we prioritize

00:01:38.080 starting with the worst first, starting with the criminal committers. And that's how we engage them

00:01:45.580 because we see them during our normal course of business.

00:01:48.900 In our county, we're not going to Home Depots.

00:01:52.780 We're not going out into strawberry fields or citrus groves.

00:01:58.140 We're not going on to construction sites.

00:02:01.880 What we're doing is we're doing our job, and when we bump into them,

00:02:06.220 we notify ICE.

00:02:07.240 ICE says to hold them, we hold them.

00:02:09.220 And that's the appropriate thing to do.

00:03:09.200 yeah and and you know everything you're saying is just a lot of common sense which by the way a lot

00:03:15.920 of people are floridians at least when i speak to them i've only been here for five years a little

00:03:20.480 over five years we lived in dallas for five years and we lived in california for 20 some years

00:03:24.400 minus my time in the military germany and iran but a lot of people are moving to florida

00:03:29.380 are you concerned long term like you're seeing the wealth tax of what mamdani and those guys

00:03:35.640 are doing in New York or California, the mess that they're doing with the wealth tax or Illinois

00:03:39.680 crime being horrible. So Ken Griffin and some of these guys are just moving down here. How worried

00:03:44.980 are you with the way of thinking may change in Florida if more and more people from these liberal

00:03:49.180 states end up in Florida? Are you concerned about that or not really? Well, what I've found is the

00:03:53.820 people that are moving to Florida from these liberal states, percentage wise, are conservative.

00:03:59.780 They're running from that craziness.

00:04:03.420 They are running from it, and we welcome them with open arms.

00:04:07.080 But when I go through my retirement communities and my new communities,

00:04:10.860 we've added 135,000 new people in our county in like five years.

00:04:17.520 135 in five years?

00:04:18.780 In five years.

00:04:19.480 So you've gone up 13%, 14% in the last five years.

00:04:22.780 That's right.

00:04:23.560 And what types of people?

00:04:24.780 And retirees, new businesses, or businesses moving to Florida, remarkable people, remarkable.

00:04:33.400 But here's what I tell them.

00:04:35.320 You moved here for warm weather in the winter.

00:04:38.080 And they go, yeah.

00:04:39.480 You moved here for lower taxes than you had where you came from.

00:04:44.120 And they said, yeah.

00:04:45.860 And I said, and you also moved here because it's safe.

00:04:49.620 And they said, yeah, that's really why we moved here first.

00:04:52.760 And I said, well, do me a favor.

00:04:54.060 don't vote the way the majority did where you came from you'll still have warm weather in the winter

00:04:59.740 but you won't have lower taxes and you won't have lower crime because the decision makers we elect

00:05:06.180 to the majority of the house majority of the senate the governor your mayors your city

00:05:11.340 commissioners and your county commissioners they are the ones that pass the laws or the rules that

00:05:16.140 determine whether or not you care more for the criminals or more more for the law-abiding citizens

00:05:22.320 And in Florida, we care more for the law-abiding citizens.

00:05:25.620 You know, this whole thing with Vag Timmon and PPD Podcast started with a phone, me and Mario.
