00:02:18.280we need criminal reform. And that criminal reform comes in, you're either going to behave
00:02:24.200or you're going to be held accountable. We have a forgiving system. You're going to prison,
00:02:30.220however, if you do something very bad or very dangerous or hurt someone. And if you go to
00:02:37.360prison, we're going to give you robust training before you get out at 85% of your sentence,
00:02:43.400which I think is generous. We give them 15% off. We ought to give them 100% and let them earn the
00:02:50.36015% off. And then we're going to train you so you can be a productive member of society.
00:02:57.860I see those people that have been to the county jail or to prison and have come out and have become
00:03:03.960productive members of society. I go to church with them. I see them in the community. I have
00:03:10.020my picture with them but if you want to misbehave you're going to be held accountable how do they
00:03:15.960talk to me when they see you at church what do they tell you they hug me thank me yeah i've got
00:03:20.120i've got a faith-based dorm we help people with mental health counseling with drug addiction
00:03:26.660counseling i've got a program where now if you can't afford your your medicine your mental health
00:03:31.600medicine and you're in the jail we'll give it to you when you get out of jail if you'll take a
00:03:36.560probation as opposed to a year in jail. We'll give you that. We're going to help you, but we're also
00:03:42.760going to hold you accountable. We're going to be like a good parent and a good parent does whatever
00:03:48.940is necessary to protect the children, the rest of the family and society. And that's what we do
00:03:55.940in Polk County. You are a hero, sir. You're amazing for what you're doing. It's an honor.
00:04:01.200Yeah, truly, when I say this to you, because, you know, as a kid who grew up, you know, not necessarily having a direction of what I was going to do was men like you who took the time to work with me that got me to make better decisions to be where I'm at today.
00:04:16.640And sometimes you don't know the impact you're making for decades.
00:04:19.120I know, obviously, you know it because you've been around and I'm sure you've had a lot of conversations with people that come up to you and tell you I am where I'm at because of you.
