00:00:00.000 If there's one thing about my message that I constantly challenge you to do is to not be
00:00:03.460 naive and not fall for everything, no matter what people say, including myself or anybody else,
00:00:07.440 go process it for yourself. Do your own due diligence, your own research, but do not fall
00:00:11.360 for BS. There's a man named Robert Reich, who has done a lot of work with the government. He's
00:00:16.540 worked under Gerald Ford, Jimmy Carter, Clinton, Obama, went to Yale, got all the fancy degrees,
00:00:22.160 can't stand capitalism except when it works for him. And he's pretty much a socialist.
00:00:27.060 He calls out every capitalist, every chance he gets. Secretly, I'm convinced this guy hates
00:00:33.400 anyone who's a billionaire. He tweeted something last week that I responded to. And I asked him
00:00:38.580 a question whether we should be concerned about this or not. And I want to get your thoughts on
00:00:41.840 it. And by the way, if you get value from this video and it gets you thinking, give it a thumbs
00:00:46.480 up and subscribe to the channel. So here's a tweet. Robert Reich tweeted out the following.
00:00:50.620 Since 1978, CEO pay has increased by 1,460%. Yes, you read that correctly. So don't tell me that
00:00:58.800 corporations can't afford to pay workers higher wages and provide decent benefits as if they're
00:01:05.880 not doing that currently today. However, I responded back with my own set of questions, whether I should
00:01:10.960 be concerned about this or not. And here's what my response was to Robert Reich. I'd like to get your
00:01:15.340 thoughts on three additional stats. Average NBA player salary has increased from 1978 till today
00:01:20.760 by 9,400%. College tuition has increased by 1,400%. And last but not least, you make $100,000 an hour
00:01:29.940 for your keynote. That's more than 99.9% CEOs make in America, should we be concerned. So watch this.
00:01:37.520 I want you to actually test this out. Go do it. Call a speaking bureau today. I would love it if a
00:01:44.060 thousand people did this and say, how much is Robert Reich's rate for one hour keynote. Then take
00:01:51.620 that email and post it all over Twitter and tag him and say, why should you get paid $100,000 an hour
00:01:59.840 for being a professor and a government employee? How could you ask for that dollar amount? Now, here's
00:02:04.820 the problem. I don't care if he makes $100,000 an hour. I don't care if he charges $300,000. If the
00:02:11.800 market's willing to pay for it, I'm totally fine with it. Heck, pay the guy $3 million an hour. If
00:02:17.220 a guy's able to get those kinds of eyeballs, more power to him. NBA players, they used to make 40 grand
00:02:23.520 a year in 1978. You know what the NBA player's average salary is today? $8.8 million. You know
00:02:28.080 what these guys do? They play a game. Can you imagine playing a game and you make $8.8 million for
00:02:34.800 playing a game and you're just playing a game? Is there anything wrong with that? Nothing. I think
00:02:41.120 today, many NBA players are still underpaid, but the market's going to increase their value every
00:02:46.640 single year. We're going to have a billion dollar contract very soon for a player and whoever that
00:02:51.380 player is, is probably worth it because they bring a lot of eyeballs and they make money. The other one,
00:02:57.200 college education has college tuition that's increased nearly 1500% since 1978. Has the
00:03:04.780 actual education improved 1500%? Why are professors, you know, no one sitting there bashing
00:03:12.700 capitalism at the same time they're seeing college tuition was nothing 40 some years ago. Now I'm
00:03:18.040 paying $40,000, $50,000 to universities that are sitting on tens of billions of dollars of endowment.
00:03:23.540 Should we question that? So a Robert Reich, a socialist who hates it when capitalists become
00:03:29.680 billionaires, you know, but loves it when, because of a capitalistic society, he makes $100,000.
00:03:34.780 And offer a keynote and he trashes people. Anytime you're telling the story, tell all sides of the
00:03:40.060 story. There are many leaks in his argument that a lot of people, when they read his tweet and they
00:03:45.480 say, wow, it's not fair that corporations are getting paid this and CEOs are making all this
00:03:50.760 kind of money. Yeah. But you know, if corporations get all that money, you know, who else makes a lot
00:03:54.800 of money? Do you know how much more government is getting today in tax revenue than they did in
00:04:00.100 1978? Over a thousand percent. What does it mean? The money evens out. Whoever's making the money
00:04:06.880 that's sealed, they have to pay taxes because it's ordinary income. All these corporations that are
00:04:11.720 creating all these jobs and becoming trillion dollar enterprises, they have tens, if not hundreds
00:04:15.500 of thousands of employees that pay taxes and everybody pays taxes. They bring revenue. The government
00:04:21.420 doesn't need to go out and create these jobs. So again, anytime arguments like this are given,
00:04:26.200 think about hundreds of thousands of kids go to college and every year, 13 professors believe what
00:04:33.040 Robert believes. For every one professor that believes in pure capitalism, that these guys are
00:04:37.740 doing great things. What do you think happens to these kids graduating from colleges? If you go to
00:04:42.100 college right now and your professor talks about Robert Reich, ask the question I just asked.
00:04:47.180 Hey, Professor Johnson, I understand what you're saying about Robert Reich and how corporations are
00:04:51.880 making more money than ever before. Do you think it's fair that NBA player's salary has increased
00:04:55.420 9,400 percent since 1978? Do you think it's fair that college tuition has increased nearly 1,500
00:05:01.020 percent since 1978? Do you think it's fair that the same Robert Reich you just talked about made
00:05:05.060 $100,000 a keynote? I think it's okay. But should we be concerned about that as well? That professor is,
00:05:10.900 one, going to kick you out of the classroom. Two, they're not used to debating. They're just used to
00:05:15.500 spewing out what they believe in because nobody pushes back. Students have to listen and take
00:05:19.880 their stuff. But the reality is the following. Next time you hear a message like this, go see what
00:05:23.780 the opposing argument is. And then from there, make a decision for yourself. If you only listen to one
00:05:28.780 side of stuff that people are saying, your argument doesn't get stronger. I interview communists and
00:05:33.520 socialists because I see leaks in the capitalistic argument where crony capitalism gets involved.
00:05:40.540 And I also see leaks in the socialism and communism argument because it just takes a matter of few
00:05:46.800 minutes before they start seeing their own leaks. And then all of a sudden they have to make stuff
00:05:50.040 up and they're getting stuck with their arguments that they're making. Anyway, so if you got value
00:05:53.760 out of this video, give it a thumbs up and subscribe to the channel. I got two interviews I want you to
00:05:57.380 watch. One is the leading socialist professor in America, according to Forbes, Richard Wolff,
00:06:03.060 loved my conversation with him. If you've never seen it, we debate over capitalism against socialism.
00:06:08.280 And the other one is a professor, Aster Blair from Riverside, who sits there saying the two
00:06:14.880 best leaders of the last hundred years is Mao. And you know who the other one he talks about?
00:06:20.500 Stalin. And he's a full blown communist professor. And we had a wonderful conversation together.
00:06:25.920 So if you want to see this one, communism, click here. If you want to see the socialism one,
00:06:30.420 click here. Either way, have a great day. Take care, everybody.
