00:00:00.000 in regards to Mamdani and Eric Adams.
00:00:03.760 It's a very interesting story what happened here.
00:00:05.500 On Wednesday, we read a poll that showed that if Curtis Sliwa,
00:00:11.480 if Eric Adams, and if those two stepped out the race,
00:00:18.260 Cuomo, Andrew, would be beating Mamdani.
00:00:21.980 And that was the poll, and I said, well, if that's going to be the case,
00:00:24.900 someone's got to give Mayor Adams a job,
00:00:26.880 and someone's got to give Sliwa a job at the White House, 0.99
00:00:30.920 President Trump needs to make that phone call, and guess what happened?
00:00:33.740 That's the story that apparently now is circulating.
00:00:36.660 Eric Adams and White House in talks.
00:00:38.660 We literally said this two days ago.
00:00:41.080 In talks over Trump administration's job as pressure mounts for New York City
00:00:45.800 mayoral candidates to sink Zoran Mamdani.
00:00:49.960 Let me read this, and then I'm going to come to this Mamdani, 1.00
00:00:52.660 because now Mamdani is saying that, why don't you come and debate me?
00:00:55.960 Mamdani, he knows this game very well.
00:00:58.480 You've got to give him credit.
00:00:59.700 He knows how to do a spin job and make it all about him,
00:01:01.900 and that's what he's supposed to be doing.
00:01:04.540 Top White House officials are in talks with a potential job for Eric Adams,
00:01:09.940 including a possible ambassadorship, nothing related to Turkey,
00:01:13.100 as Tom said earlier, as pressure mounts for mayoral candidates
00:01:15.880 to drop out in candidate support for around former Governor Andrew Cuomo
00:01:20.540 to challenge Democratic Zoran Mamdani.
00:01:22.480 A source close to Trump administration said,
00:01:25.540 I think Adams will be able to craft a position and a portfolio that's to his liking,
00:01:30.720 while another source to the White House said, I've heard Adams' team wants it.
00:01:34.760 And although Mayor Adams has been the most pro-housing mayor in New York City history,
00:01:39.260 at no time did he ask for it, nor was he offered a job at HUD.
00:01:44.080 So, hence, that's kind of one of the things that's coming up.
00:01:46.840 Rob, play this clip with Mamdani.
00:01:47.880 I think it's outrageous, and I think oftentimes in a race such as this,
00:01:54.000 it's tempting to think of this solely in the question of how does this impact the race.
00:01:57.740 But this is an affront to our city's democracy.
00:02:00.700 This is an affront to the values that make so many of us proud to be Americans,
00:02:03.960 that we could choose our own leaders, not that our leaders pick themselves or their friends.
00:02:07.820 And we're seeing in this time when Donald Trump has taken snap from hungry New Yorkers,
00:02:14.660 has passed legislation that would throw millions of New Yorkers off their health insurance,
00:02:18.620 that we have Democrats in Andrew Cuomo and Eric Adams working with this administration
00:02:24.060 to try and subvert the will of Democratic primary voters right here in New York City.
00:02:28.340 Okay, so that's Mamdani.
00:02:30.500 Eric Adams denies that there was anything there.
00:02:33.060 He's saying, what happened, Tom?
00:02:34.700 He's saying there's anything there.
00:02:35.800 Wait for you.
00:02:36.240 What's this one, Rob?
00:02:36.980 This is CNN reporting.
00:02:39.080 I can't find a clip of Eric Adams actually denying the rumors,
00:02:41.700 but CNN reports that he has denied the rumors.
00:02:44.080 That he has denied the report.
00:02:45.160 Okay, so we don't need to play the clip.
00:02:46.380 I thought it was Adams.
00:02:47.040 That's fine.
00:02:47.320 So we know he's denied it.
00:02:48.700 Tom, what do you think is going on here?
00:02:49.980 Well, first of all, also, this just in, independent candidate, 3% of the polling.
00:02:54.720 One poll had him at 4%.
00:02:56.220 Jim Walden has dropped out.
00:02:58.360 So now he's out, and we're working on Eric Adams.
00:03:02.240 I love to carefully look at words that people say.
00:03:06.980 I have not been offered a job in the White House.
00:03:09.820 And then I looked around, and there was two little leaks, and you don't know how credibility, that he's actually being offered a job at HUD.
00:03:19.840 Weird.
00:03:20.060 Well, if he's offered a job at HUD.
00:03:21.820 It's not the White House.
00:03:22.540 It's not the White House.
00:03:23.680 It's very smart.
00:03:24.720 I'm not being offered a job in the White House.
00:03:26.160 I'm being offered a job on the HUD.
00:03:27.460 But guess what?
00:03:28.060 Where there's smoke, there's fire.
00:03:29.680 I believe Eric Adams is in talks.
00:03:31.640 And by the way, if you look at his background with police and union and understanding the plight of the inner city and the things that he responded to with domestic violence and everything that he did with the police,
00:03:43.040 I actually think he would be good at HUD with that kind of experience, with the kind of things that HUD tries to do to help downtown cities.
00:03:50.840 So I actually think Eric Adams, it wouldn't be like one of these, remember when college kids would get a job watering the grass for like $300 a week because he's on the football team?
00:04:01.700 Of course.
00:04:01.760 And then you find out that the sprinklers are on a timer and he's just giving him cash.
00:04:06.400 He gets $300 a week.
00:04:07.460 No, I don't think it's something like that at all.
00:04:09.080 I think Eric Adams is negotiating.
00:04:11.780 I think you were dead on, Pat.
00:04:13.220 You were correct in what you said.
00:04:14.700 And now we're seeing it in print.
00:04:16.220 I think he's going to be at HUD.
00:04:17.900 I think that's very possible.
00:04:19.280 I think that would actually be a good job for him.
00:04:21.360 And Walden is out, which means that right now that's probably another 10 full points.
00:04:29.960 You go back to Cuomo.
00:04:30.920 So I think Cuomo is probably at 40.0 right now with this if he steps back.
00:04:38.120 Now, Curtis Sliwa from Guardian Angels, that's going to be the tough one.
00:04:47.280 I think that's going to be the Ross Perot guy in the middle here.
00:04:49.880 That's what I think.
00:04:50.620 Well, let me ask you a question.
00:04:51.900 Do you guys think, with all this, with Eric Adams leaving, Walden leaving, do you think New Yorkers are going to rally around Cuomo?
00:04:59.020 Is that push going to be hard enough?
00:05:00.500 Are they going to forget all the stuff he did while he was governor, especially during COVID with all the nursing home deaths that is looming over him?
00:05:08.680 And the controversy with the women and all that stuff. 0.60
00:05:10.320 As they say, that's his bloody albatross. 0.96
00:05:12.320 That's the old thing.
00:05:12.920 You think that's going to get in the way?
00:05:14.120 I don't think it is.
00:05:15.160 Let me tell you how politics works, Vinny.
00:05:17.140 It's such a... 0.97
00:05:18.580 Crazy.
00:05:19.020 To the average person, it won't make sense.
00:05:22.400 Because you could have something right now that's...
00:05:25.540 You realize the governor of California hooked up with his best friend's wife, campaign manager.
00:05:32.440 Yeah.
00:05:33.460 And he's the governor of California.
00:05:35.500 Yeah.
00:05:36.420 You realize the governor of California got $24 billion to clean up homelessness and it increased by $36,000.
00:05:42.300 It's crazy.
00:05:43.900 It's crazy.
00:05:44.480 So to me, politics is very weird.
00:05:47.280 Yeah.
00:05:47.780 And these guys, they know you have to learn how to be Teflon.
00:05:51.980 You're going to be in the tornado for the next two, three weeks.
00:05:54.060 They're going to attack you nonstop.
00:05:55.120 It's going to go away.
00:05:56.260 And then you're going to come back.
00:05:57.260 Americans move on. 0.94
00:05:58.120 There's going to be a new story cycle and da-da-da-da.
00:06:00.440 That's what happens.
00:06:01.080 So do you think...
00:06:01.480 Do you think...
00:06:02.600 That being said, and I agree.
00:06:04.220 Do you think with Mamdani's rise right now, because he's climbing...
00:06:07.760 Yeah.
00:06:07.820 Do you think them leaving and Cuomo coming in, it'll be a close race?
00:06:11.080 Yeah, it's going to be a close race.
00:06:12.080 I think it's going to be...
00:06:12.620 That's what we need.
00:06:13.220 I think it's going to be a very close race with the involvement of one person.
00:06:16.700 DJT.
00:06:17.200 That's it.
00:06:17.980 Yep.
00:06:18.320 With that.
00:06:18.760 Adam.
00:06:19.240 I don't know.
00:06:19.840 I'm actually with Mamdani on this.
00:06:21.580 I think this stinks to high heaven.
00:06:23.660 You know, Trump made a famous line, it's a rigged system, it's a rigged system, it's a rigged system.
00:06:29.640 This seems like a rigged system.
00:06:31.780 Because in a democracy, you don't want to avert the will of the people.
00:06:36.680 You know, democracy, sometimes the politicians want to protect the people from the decisions that the people make. 0.88
00:06:42.620 Sometimes you've got to let the people make some damn bad decisions. 0.90
00:06:45.940 And that's what needs to happen in New York City. 0.86
00:06:48.260 So, you know, people in 2011, they were doing the Occupy Wall Street movement,
00:06:54.220 because they were pissed as hell as the big bank bailouts.
00:06:58.460 And they had every right to think that way.
00:07:00.420 And Chamath, the famous from the All In podcast, you know, when they bailed out the airlines,
00:07:05.660 he said, let them fail.
00:07:07.260 If you're making bad decisions, and you're doing stock buybacks,
00:07:10.060 and you're not prepared for a black swan event or anything like that, then you should fail.
00:07:16.120 New York City is a failing city.
00:07:18.220 And you're going to try to avert the will of the people who want this socialist, communist, Islamist. 0.93
00:07:23.760 Let them have who they want. 0.80
00:07:25.540 Let the boy watch, as they say.
00:07:27.140 Anyway, so a democracy is only as strong as the wisdom of the people.
00:07:30.960 And if the wisdom of the people in New York City want Mamdani, give them Mamdani. 0.65
00:07:35.700 Stop trying to basically have Trump come in, Eric Adams, Cuomo.
00:07:40.200 That seems like a rigged system.
00:07:42.160 Now, I'm no Mamdani fan, but I'm a fan of democracy.
00:07:45.100 But let me ask you a question, Adam.
00:07:45.960 America isn't just some company like Boeing or whatever like that.
00:07:49.900 You're talking about, and I know where you stand on this, is it, are you, like, he's not interfering.
00:07:54.260 He's helping.
00:07:55.420 Do you think him getting involved isn't trying to help from a, quote, unquote, or alleged communist, terrorist,
00:08:02.820 sympathizer, whatever the hell the media is calling him?
00:08:04.900 Are you willing to go, hey, let them learn.
00:08:06.820 And then he comes in.
00:08:07.940 And then in Dearborn, you have freaking Arabic writing on freaking, like, and then it starts spreading. 0.99
00:08:12.500 And then we get to a point where you're like, wait a minute, we shouldn't have let that one guy get in in New York.
00:08:17.080 Because if it starts there, it's going to keep spreading.
00:08:19.000 Let me tell you, buddy, there's a lot of, there's a lot that you said that I agree with.
00:08:22.760 And that's, these are going to be conversations, Vinny, that we're going to be having every year for the next couple decades.
00:08:30.860 Of, do we want people who don't stand for typical American values running our government?
00:08:36.300 I don't, I don't.
00:08:37.100 And we're going to see them, you think, you think Mamdani's the last. 1.00
00:08:41.360 Oh, no.
00:08:41.860 Hell no.
00:08:42.680 Look at them in Minneapolis and all the, so get ready for more.
00:08:45.760 There's a part of what Adam is saying is an actual good point, but.
00:08:51.280 That's shocking.
00:08:53.280 Rob laughing.
00:08:54.600 But the part you got to be thinking about.
00:08:56.460 You probably misspoke.
00:08:57.760 But the part you're probably thinking, you have to think about, this is politics.
00:09:01.960 They're going to call for the favors.
00:09:04.000 Very simple.
00:09:04.960 Oh, no doubt.
00:09:05.360 And they're going to do it on the left.
00:09:06.800 They're going to do it on the right.
00:09:07.800 They're going to do it everywhere.
00:09:09.120 What do you think is going on?
00:09:09.920 Right.
00:09:10.120 California is going to be 48 to four on House of Representatives for the state.
00:09:15.360 Out of 52 House of Representatives in the state of California by November 4th, if this
00:09:19.160 gerrymandering new structure goes down, 48 is going to be on the left.
00:09:23.460 What kind of control do you think they're going to have?
00:09:25.340 You know, same with Texas. 0.92
00:09:26.580 What they did there.
00:09:27.620 Crockett about to be fired by November 4th.
00:09:30.100 So this is the political game.
00:09:32.460 But there's a guy, every once in a while, somebody's endorsement carries weight.
00:09:38.020 Okay.
00:09:38.420 For a long time, it used to be Obama.
00:09:40.780 Obama no longer carries weight.
00:09:42.320 Oh, no.
00:09:42.800 His voice no longer carries the weight he used to carry at all.
00:09:46.100 And it's not even close.
00:09:47.820 Trump's voice has just gotten bigger and bigger and bigger.
00:09:52.660 Everybody wants his endorsement.
00:09:55.200 He gets involved left, right, and center.
00:09:57.820 Things get done.
00:09:59.000 People move.
00:10:00.000 And I think there's one guy that can do this for New York.
00:10:01.820 And he's got a heart for New York.
00:10:03.220 Family, parents, dad, all of that stuff.
00:10:05.600 You don't have to agree with it.
00:10:07.240 But that's probably what's going to end up happening.
00:10:09.700 Listen, you know, I'm on the Trump team.
00:10:11.940 I'm on the Trump train.
00:10:13.240 I don't think Trump carries that much weight in New York City at this point.
00:10:17.940 New York City, I get that they leaned towards Trump this time.
00:10:21.700 He didn't win New York.
00:10:22.540 He didn't win the state.
00:10:23.240 I don't think that he's helping the cause here.
00:10:27.420 Because anyone who's Republican or independent is already voting against Mamdani.
00:10:31.000 You need to convince people in the Democratic Party to stop voting against their own interests and not vote for Mamdani.
00:10:37.700 None of those people are Trump guys.
00:10:39.420 So from a macro perspective, from a federal perspective, presidential perspective, I think New York City hates Trump.
00:10:46.260 Yeah.
00:10:46.600 I think New York City, there are people that hate Trump.
00:10:50.860 But a lot less than what it was 10 years ago.
00:10:52.800 Yeah, because they're waking up.
00:10:54.460 We're still seeing the reverberations of how woke New York City is now.
00:10:58.700 He's optimistic on what he can do.
00:11:01.000 And I think it's more than you think.
00:11:03.540 But I also understand what your point you're making.
00:11:06.020 The fact that, you know, let him fail.
00:11:07.960 Let the too big to fail happen.
00:11:09.680 Here's my prediction.
00:11:10.420 I'll give it to you in 10 seconds or less.
00:11:11.800 Mamdani gets elected. 1.00
00:11:13.480 City turns to crap. 0.99
00:11:14.400 They find in five years their next mayor, Rudy Giuliani, and they clean up that city because it needs to go to the depths of hell. 1.00
00:11:22.680 I think it'll be too late.
00:11:23.020 I think it'll be too late because I think—
00:11:24.640 That's what they said in the 90s, though.
00:11:25.880 No, I think it'll be too late because, you know, people—when Democratic Socialists took over Detroit, what happened?
00:11:31.300 It's too late.
00:11:32.200 When that happens and the billionaires leave, they're not coming back.
00:11:35.700 Once the billionaires leave, King Griffin's not going back to Chicago.
00:11:38.820 Rest in peace, New York City.
00:11:40.140 That's what I'm saying.
00:11:41.320 If this happens, it's going to be—
00:11:43.020 What a shame.
00:11:43.660 It's going to be catastrophic, and they'll feel it.
00:11:45.400 Folks, go get these because these products—I wore them. 0.91
00:11:49.860 It feels—anybody that sees it up front, they can't believe what it looks like.
00:11:54.520 Can I say one thing?
00:11:56.000 Go ahead.
00:11:56.460 I wash and dry.
00:11:58.360 I'm dead serious.
00:11:59.080 Nothing's—I wash and dry.
00:12:01.020 Nothing comes off.
00:12:02.340 The majority of these do mess up.
00:12:03.820 It's amazing.
00:12:04.340 Take it off.
00:12:05.080 It's magical.
00:12:05.620 For those of you in California, the ink is flame retardant. 0.99
00:12:08.900 Wildfire season.
00:12:09.540 Go to vtmerch.com.
00:12:12.580 Get your future looks bright.
00:12:13.900 By the way, Rob, can you go to the new polo?
00:12:15.560 Can you go to the polo shirts that we got?
00:12:17.480 Guys, I saw a polo shirt that just came in.
00:12:19.900 Eric Caballero was wearing it. 0.95
