00:00:00.000 This is an iHeart Podcast.
00:00:02.560 Guaranteed human.
00:00:05.280 Welcome, it is Verdict with Ted Cruz.
00:00:07.480 Week in Review, Ben Ferguson with you.
00:00:09.600 And these are the stories that you may have missed
00:00:11.200 that we talked about this past week.
00:00:13.180 First up, the largest funder
00:00:15.920 of a terrorist organization, Al-Shabaab,
00:00:18.720 apparently is the American taxpayer.
00:00:21.880 How did this happen?
00:00:23.160 We'll explain it in just a moment.
00:00:25.540 Also, whiteness is apparently a pandemic
00:00:28.660 so dangerous that one university says
00:00:32.000 it's a major study point that we have to talk about.
00:00:35.540 And finally, Texas designates the Muslim Brotherhood
00:00:39.660 a terrorist organization.
00:00:42.120 And the president follows suit.
00:00:44.620 It's the Week in Review, and it starts right now.
00:00:48.200 There is a story that broke
00:00:49.960 that should make every American angry.
00:00:54.020 And that is the story of the largest funder
00:00:57.860 of Al-Shabaab.
00:00:59.800 Turns out to be, and Al-Shabaab is a terrorist organization,
00:01:03.160 a Somali terrorist organization,
00:01:04.660 is actually the Minnesota taxpayers.
00:01:07.920 Now, that may just seem like a weird headline to people,
00:01:11.320 but what we're witnessing is tax dollars
00:01:14.420 funneling directly to the Islamic terrorist organization,
00:01:17.640 and it's been going on at numbers
00:01:20.340 that were clearly warning signs
00:01:22.640 when Joe Biden was president,
00:01:24.000 and the amount of funds that were leaving Minnesota.
00:01:28.060 And no one seemed to bat an eye,
00:01:30.060 or no one seemed to care that this was happening.
00:01:33.300 Break it down for everybody
00:01:34.300 that doesn't know anything about this.
00:01:36.500 Well, this is a story that's really
00:01:38.000 at the intersection of two issues
00:01:39.960 that matter enormously.
00:01:41.260 Number one is waste, fraud, and abuse in government.
00:01:44.240 And we see that at the federal government.
00:01:45.740 We see that at the state level,
00:01:47.480 particularly in big blue states.
00:01:49.020 But secondly, the rise of radical Islam in America.
00:01:52.280 And it's dangerous.
00:01:53.480 It is threatening our liberty.
00:01:55.060 And it is spreading.
00:01:56.100 It's spreading often with the enthusiastic cheerleading
00:01:58.880 of Democrat elected officials.
00:02:01.200 This story is right at the intersection of both of them.
00:02:03.640 And so the City Journal reported,
00:02:05.680 I'm just going to read a portion of this article
00:02:07.280 because it really is, it's a stunning report.
00:02:10.560 And it begins,
00:02:12.200 the largest funder of Al-Shabaab
00:02:13.720 is the Minnesota taxpayer.
00:02:15.280 How some of the state's welfare funds
00:02:17.040 ended up in the hands of a terror group.
00:02:19.420 Minnesota is drowning in fraud.
00:02:21.480 Billions in taxpayer dollars have been stolen
00:02:23.720 during the administration of Governor Tim Waltz alone.
00:02:26.860 Of course, Tim Waltz was Kamala Harris's nominee to be VP.
00:02:31.140 Democrat state officials overseeing
00:02:32.900 one of the most generous welfare regimes in the country
00:02:35.340 are asleep at the switch.
00:02:37.400 And the media, duty-bound by progressive pieties,
00:02:40.740 refuse to connect the dots.
00:02:42.800 In many cases, the fraud has allegedly been perpetrated
00:02:45.400 by members of the Minnesota's sizable Somali community.
00:02:49.520 Federal counterterrorism support sources confirm
00:02:52.500 that millions of dollars, millions,
00:02:55.520 in stolen funds have been sent back to Somalia,
00:02:58.500 where they ultimately landed in the hands
00:03:00.320 of the terror group Al-Shabaab.
00:03:01.960 One confidential source put it,
00:03:04.160 quote,
00:03:04.420 The largest funder of Al-Shabaab
00:03:06.680 is the Minnesota taxpayer.
00:03:09.000 Our investigation shows what happens
00:03:10.700 when a tribal mindset meets a bleeding-heart bureaucracy,
00:03:14.220 when imported Klan loyalties collide
00:03:16.660 with a political class too timid to offend,
00:03:19.540 and when accusations of racism are cynically deployed
00:03:22.380 to shield criminal behavior.
00:03:24.740 The predictable result is graft,
00:03:26.860 with taxpayers left to foot the bill.
00:03:29.660 If you were to design a welfare program
00:03:31.860 to facilitate fraud,
00:03:33.300 it would probably look a lot like
00:03:34.760 Minnesota's Medicaid Housing Stabilization Services Program.
00:03:38.360 The HHS program, the first of its kind in the country,
00:03:41.400 was launched with a noble goal
00:03:43.220 to help seniors, addicts, the disabled,
00:03:45.260 and the mentally ill secure housing.
00:03:47.100 It was designed with, quote,
00:03:48.560 low barriers to entry and, quote,
00:03:50.300 minimal requirements for reimbursement.
00:03:52.520 Nonetheless, before the program went live in 2020,
00:03:54.860 officials pegged its annual estimated price tag
00:03:58.020 at $2.6 million.
00:03:59.680 Cost quickly spiraled out of control.
00:04:02.500 In 2021, the program paid out more than $21 million.
00:04:06.980 By the way, it was projected to be $2.6 million.
00:04:09.820 In the following year,
00:04:10.860 annual costs shot up to $42 million,
00:04:13.260 then $74 million, then $104 million.
00:04:17.400 On August 1st,
00:04:18.360 Minnesota's Department of Human Services
00:04:19.860 moved to scrap the HHS program,
00:04:21.860 noting that payment to 77 housing stabilization providers
00:04:26.060 had terminated this year
00:04:27.860 due to credible allegations of fraud.
00:04:30.620 Joe Thompson, then the acting U.S. Attorney
00:04:32.500 for the District of Minnesota,
00:04:34.260 went even further, saying,
00:04:35.860 the vast majority, let me repeat that,
00:04:38.280 the vast majority of the HHS program
00:04:41.560 was fraudulent.
00:04:43.260 On September 18th,
00:04:44.460 Thompson announced criminal indictments
00:04:46.040 for HHS fraud
00:04:47.080 against Mokhtar Hassan Aydin,
00:04:49.680 Mustafa Dayib Ali,
00:04:51.460 Khalid Ahmed Dayib,
00:04:53.500 Abdi Fita Mohammed Mohammed,
00:04:57.140 Christopher Adesoli Falad.
00:04:59.980 By the way, Ben,
00:05:00.700 you try to go through those names.
00:05:02.160 Yeah, I'm going to pass on that.
00:05:03.280 You did a great job.
00:05:04.500 I give you a B-plus on that.
00:05:06.280 Okay.
00:05:06.720 Six of whom,
00:05:07.960 according to the U.S. Attorney's Office,
00:05:09.980 are members of Minnesota's Somali community.
00:05:11.960 Thompson made clear
00:05:13.040 this is the first round of charges
00:05:15.020 for HHS fraud
00:05:16.460 that his office will be prosecuting.
00:05:18.460 Most of these cases,
00:05:19.480 unlike a lot of Medicare fraud
00:05:20.840 and Medicaid fraud nationally,
00:05:22.720 aren't just overbilling,
00:05:24.000 Thompson said in a press conference
00:05:25.180 announcing the indictments.
00:05:26.660 These are often just
00:05:27.640 purely fictitious companies
00:05:29.660 solely created to defraud the system,
00:05:33.100 and that's unique
00:05:34.300 in the extent to which
00:05:35.640 we have that here in Minnesota.
00:05:37.380 Thompson said many of the firms
00:05:38.660 enrolled in the program
00:05:39.660 operated out of dilapidated storefronts
00:05:42.020 or run-down office buildings.
00:05:43.600 The perpetrators often targeted people
00:05:45.880 recently released from rehab,
00:05:47.680 signed them up for Medicaid services
00:05:49.100 they had no intention of providing.
00:05:51.000 He noted many of the owners of companies
00:05:52.660 engage in HHS fraud,
00:05:54.620 had other companies
00:05:55.560 through which they build
00:05:56.400 other Medicaid programs,
00:05:58.240 such as the EIDBI Autism Program,
00:06:01.360 the Adult Rehabilitative Mental Health Services Program,
00:06:05.720 the Integrated Community Services Program,
00:06:07.680 the Community Access for Disability Inclusion Program,
00:06:10.320 PCA services,
00:06:11.600 and other Medicaid-waivered services.
00:06:14.740 What we see are schemes,
00:06:17.300 stacked upon schemes,
00:06:19.300 draining resources meant for those most in need.
00:06:22.200 It feels never-ending.
00:06:23.680 I have spent my career as a fraud prosecutor,
00:06:26.160 and the depth of the fraud in Minnesota
00:06:28.940 takes my breath away.
00:06:30.780 You read that,
00:06:32.640 and you just think about
00:06:34.100 how much money this is
00:06:35.940 that not only was stolen from the taxpayers,
00:06:38.980 and they go into how much it kept growing
00:06:41.360 and growing and growing,
00:06:42.840 these programs,
00:06:44.040 but it's obvious that people knew there was fraud.
00:06:47.280 Then you find out
00:06:48.320 it's going to a terrorist organization,
00:06:49.960 and so we're funding the terrorist organization.
00:06:53.340 How the hell do people not go to jail for this?
00:06:56.380 Well, they are.
00:06:57.260 A number of people are being prosecuted.
00:06:59.200 But, you know,
00:07:00.160 what is striking is
00:07:01.160 not just was there massive fraud,
00:07:03.480 but the massive fraud was funding terrorism.
00:07:05.680 Here's what the City Journal continues saying.
00:07:07.900 Perhaps the most surprising aspect
00:07:09.400 of the Somali fraud story
00:07:10.760 is the scale,
00:07:11.940 with total costs running into
00:07:14.100 the billions of taxpayer dollars.
00:07:16.720 That raises the question,
00:07:18.340 what happened to all that money?
00:07:20.720 The Somali fraud rings
00:07:21.860 have sent huge sums and remittances,
00:07:24.900 or money transfers,
00:07:25.940 from Minnesota to Somalia.
00:07:28.000 According to reports,
00:07:29.020 an estimated 40% of households in Somalia
00:07:31.780 get remittances from abroad.
00:07:34.060 In 2023 alone,
00:07:35.940 the Somali diaspora sent back
00:07:38.020 $1.7 billion,
00:07:41.880 more than the Somali government's budget
00:07:44.620 for that year.
00:07:46.220 Our investigation reveals,
00:07:47.720 for the first time,
00:07:48.880 that some of this money
00:07:50.040 has been directed
00:07:50.820 to an even more troubling destination.
00:07:52.820 The Al-Qaeda-linked Islamic terror group,
00:07:56.540 Al-Shabaab.
00:07:57.500 According to multiple law enforcement sources,
00:08:00.340 Minnesota's Somali community
00:08:02.000 has sent untold millions
00:08:04.780 through a network of Hawala's,
00:08:06.860 informal,
00:08:08.200 clan-based money traders,
00:08:09.900 that have wound up
00:08:11.160 in the coffers of Al-Shabaab.
00:08:13.280 According to Glenn Kearns,
00:08:14.460 a retired Seattle Police Department detective
00:08:16.480 who spent 14 years
00:08:17.720 on a federal joint terrorism task force,
00:08:20.260 The Somalis ran a sophisticated money network
00:08:23.460 spanning from Seattle to Minneapolis
00:08:25.740 and were routing significant amounts of cash
00:08:28.620 on commercial flights
00:08:29.640 from the Seattle airport
00:08:31.080 to the Hawala networks in Somalia.
00:08:33.660 One of these networks,
00:08:35.200 Kearns discovered,
00:08:36.340 sent $20 million abroad
00:08:38.080 in a single year.
00:08:40.180 So this is money
00:08:41.000 that's coming from the Minnesota taxpayers.
00:08:43.480 It is going through the Somali community
00:08:46.860 in Minnesota,
00:08:47.740 back to Somalia
00:08:49.380 on the order of magnitude
00:08:50.780 of $1.7 billion a year.
00:08:53.940 And millions of those dollars
00:08:55.580 were flowing directly to Al-Shabaab,
00:08:58.060 an Al-Qaeda-linked
00:08:59.160 major terrorist organization.
00:09:01.600 This is tragic.
00:09:03.500 It is shocking.
00:09:04.620 And by the way,
00:09:05.300 I'm curious,
00:09:06.120 have you seen it on CNN?
00:09:07.620 No.
00:09:08.120 NBC, CBS?
00:09:09.360 Nope, none of them.
00:09:10.220 None of them touching it.
00:09:11.720 MSNBC?
00:09:12.700 No.
00:09:13.020 Washington Post,
00:09:13.700 New York Times?
00:09:14.640 Nope.
00:09:15.260 You would think that would be news.
00:09:16.500 I also look at the amount of money
00:09:18.400 and how quickly it grew.
00:09:20.220 That's something else
00:09:20.940 that I do think is interesting here,
00:09:23.220 is how, I mean,
00:09:24.240 you want to talk about warning signs,
00:09:26.560 Senator.
00:09:27.260 There was clear warning signs.
00:09:31.000 Like, very, very clear warning signs
00:09:34.620 that this was happening.
00:09:36.780 And yet,
00:09:38.400 no one in government
00:09:40.840 seemed to stop, pause,
00:09:42.400 or ask a question.
00:09:44.040 That part also,
00:09:45.240 to me,
00:09:45.520 is just like,
00:09:47.160 is it always unlimited funds?
00:09:49.040 Is that how it's now in government?
00:09:50.740 Whatever you start,
00:09:51.740 just keep making it grow
00:09:52.960 and double and triple in size
00:09:54.960 year after year after year
00:09:55.860 and spinning.
00:09:56.360 And no one's like,
00:09:58.160 hold on a second,
00:09:58.800 this doesn't add up.
00:09:59.880 This many kids with autism,
00:10:01.240 that doesn't seem normal.
00:10:02.540 Look how much it went,
00:10:03.460 doubled from last year,
00:10:04.320 the year before,
00:10:04.860 the year before that.
00:10:05.700 I mean,
00:10:05.960 there's a clear line here
00:10:07.700 of like red flags
00:10:09.080 that no one seemed to care about.
00:10:10.680 Well, and it's worth remembering,
00:10:12.320 Tim Waltz is not someone
00:10:13.780 at the fringe
00:10:14.580 of the Democrat Party.
00:10:16.340 Tim Waltz is who Kamala Harris
00:10:17.840 thought should be
00:10:18.500 vice president
00:10:19.060 of the United States.
00:10:20.540 Presumably,
00:10:21.080 Kamala thought
00:10:21.740 that he should succeed her
00:10:23.720 and become the president
00:10:25.300 of the United States.
00:10:26.560 And Tim Waltz,
00:10:27.860 like many Democrats,
00:10:29.320 but Waltz is worse
00:10:30.820 than many of them,
00:10:31.980 just look the other way,
00:10:33.240 just turn a blind eye.
00:10:35.260 And one combination,
00:10:36.660 it's a combination
00:10:37.260 of a number of factors,
00:10:38.220 one piece of it is
00:10:39.340 just the left-wing view
00:10:40.940 that the more money
00:10:41.700 you're giving away
00:10:42.500 in welfare,
00:10:43.100 the better.
00:10:43.560 And so it doesn't matter
00:10:45.160 how much it grows.
00:10:46.500 If you're giving
00:10:47.360 a million dollars this year,
00:10:48.540 they want it to be two million,
00:10:49.680 then four,
00:10:50.140 then six,
00:10:50.660 then eight,
00:10:51.100 then 12.
00:10:51.820 They want it to grow
00:10:53.440 without any consideration
00:10:56.060 about number one,
00:10:57.260 bankrupting the state
00:10:58.200 and the taxpayers,
00:10:58.960 but number two,
00:11:00.060 about the impact
00:11:01.340 of spending all that money
00:11:02.500 trapping people
00:11:03.200 in dependency.
00:11:04.260 But a second component of it,
00:11:06.140 it's not just dependency.
00:11:07.260 Dependency assumes
00:11:08.260 someone's actually
00:11:09.520 getting welfare payments.
00:11:11.280 It is also blatant fraud.
00:11:14.860 And there is unfortunately
00:11:16.380 a network of corruption
00:11:17.720 where many of those
00:11:18.580 engage in fraud
00:11:19.500 are also writing checks
00:11:22.020 to elect Democrats.
00:11:23.760 And if you look
00:11:24.400 at the Somali community
00:11:25.440 in Minnesota,
00:11:26.220 it is a major voting network
00:11:28.340 that votes for Democrats
00:11:30.100 in Minnesota.
00:11:30.860 And so at the end of the day,
00:11:32.940 the Democrats,
00:11:33.660 when it comes to buying votes,
00:11:35.560 shoveling this cash
00:11:36.900 into this maw of fraud,
00:11:39.740 even though the taxpayers
00:11:41.080 were being robbed
00:11:42.280 and the money was going
00:11:43.300 to a radical Islamic
00:11:44.620 terrorist organization,
00:11:45.780 if you're a Democrat,
00:11:47.440 it made political sense
00:11:48.820 on some level
00:11:49.560 because you got money
00:11:51.180 and you got votes.
00:11:52.900 And it is astonishing
00:11:54.780 that there's not,
00:11:55.960 do you know
00:11:56.620 of a single Democrat
00:11:57.500 denouncing this?
00:11:58.720 No.
00:11:59.200 I mean,
00:11:59.640 that's a striking thing.
00:12:00.980 Now,
00:12:01.920 if you want to hear
00:12:02.560 the rest of this conversation,
00:12:04.080 you can go back
00:12:05.080 and listen to the full podcast
00:12:06.660 from earlier this week.
00:12:08.620 Canadian women
00:12:09.420 are looking for more,
00:12:10.740 more out of themselves,
00:12:11.800 their businesses,
00:12:12.740 their elected leaders,
00:12:13.700 and the world around them.
00:12:14.940 And that's why
00:12:15.380 we're thrilled
00:12:15.900 to introduce
00:12:16.540 the Honest Talk podcast.
00:12:18.760 I'm Jennifer Stewart.
00:12:19.860 And I'm Catherine Clark.
00:12:21.080 And in this podcast,
00:12:22.140 we interview
00:12:22.680 Canada's most inspiring women,
00:12:24.700 entrepreneurs,
00:12:25.520 artists,
00:12:26.200 athletes,
00:12:26.800 politicians,
00:12:27.440 and newsmakers,
00:12:28.380 all at different stages
00:12:29.420 of their journey.
00:12:30.580 So if you're looking
00:12:31.580 to connect,
00:12:32.380 then we hope you'll join us.
00:12:33.800 Listen to the Honest Talk podcast
00:12:35.180 on iHeartRadio
00:12:36.180 or wherever you listen
00:12:37.160 to your podcasts.
00:12:39.640 Now on to story number two.
00:12:42.560 Senator,
00:12:43.180 finally on the show,
00:12:44.340 let's deal with
00:12:45.380 a major problem.
00:12:46.880 It's huge.
00:12:48.280 A university
00:12:49.360 is now warning
00:12:50.400 of a quote-unquote
00:12:52.180 whiteness pandemic.
00:12:55.140 Not a problem,
00:12:55.760 but a pandemic,
00:12:56.880 a whiteness pandemic.
00:12:58.340 This coming
00:12:59.500 from the University
00:13:00.540 of Minnesota.
00:13:01.540 I'll let you
00:13:02.300 take it from there.
00:13:04.300 Yeah,
00:13:04.820 I gotta say
00:13:05.360 this is gonna piss you off.
00:13:07.020 Are you white?
00:13:08.220 Then apparently
00:13:08.920 you are an evil,
00:13:10.420 noxious scourge
00:13:11.520 on America.
00:13:12.000 You are a pandemic.
00:13:13.240 You are a virus.
00:13:14.200 You are a disease.
00:13:15.640 And woke leftists
00:13:17.220 are gonna re-educate
00:13:18.580 the whiteness
00:13:19.140 right out of you.
00:13:20.440 Like,
00:13:20.860 I wish I were
00:13:21.800 making this up.
00:13:22.580 Like,
00:13:22.700 when I say these words,
00:13:24.840 you sound like a lunatic.
00:13:26.900 You sound like you're wearing
00:13:28.160 like a tinfoil hat
00:13:29.320 and you believe
00:13:30.600 in conspiracy theories.
00:13:32.100 But I want to read to you
00:13:34.140 from a website
00:13:35.700 from the University
00:13:36.620 of Minnesota.
00:13:37.400 By the way,
00:13:37.740 this is a state website.
00:13:39.020 This is,
00:13:39.760 all right,
00:13:40.100 here's what the website says.
00:13:41.820 Quote,
00:13:43.000 what is the whiteness pandemic?
00:13:46.320 Racism is an epidemic
00:13:47.540 that can also be considered
00:13:49.140 a pandemic
00:13:49.900 given its large
00:13:51.300 cross-national proportion
00:13:52.580 and spread.
00:13:53.160 However,
00:13:54.640 there is another pandemic
00:13:55.820 lurking behind
00:13:56.640 and driving
00:13:57.340 the racist pandemic.
00:13:59.160 The whiteness pandemic.
00:14:01.860 Whiteness refers to culture,
00:14:03.260 not biology.
00:14:04.380 The centuries-old culture
00:14:05.740 of whiteness
00:14:06.420 features colorblindness.
00:14:08.200 In other words,
00:14:08.620 not being a racist,
00:14:09.620 that is the whiteness pandemic.
00:14:11.620 Passivity
00:14:12.200 and white fragility
00:14:14.280 were all covert expressions
00:14:16.580 of racism
00:14:17.300 common in the United States.
00:14:19.840 Naming the whiteness pandemic
00:14:21.200 shifts our gaze
00:14:22.260 from the victims
00:14:23.000 and effects of racism
00:14:24.180 onto the systems
00:14:25.720 that perpetrate
00:14:26.500 and perpetuate racism,
00:14:27.760 starting with the family system.
00:14:30.000 In other words,
00:14:30.900 families are racist
00:14:32.180 if you believe in families,
00:14:33.320 if you believe in a mom
00:14:34.280 and dad raising kids,
00:14:35.520 loving kids.
00:14:36.440 That is,
00:14:37.140 the family system
00:14:38.080 is part of the whiteness pandemic.
00:14:41.400 At birth,
00:14:42.920 young children
00:14:43.820 growing up
00:14:44.440 in white families
00:14:45.580 begin to be socialized
00:14:46.880 into the culture
00:14:47.680 of whiteness,
00:14:49.180 making the family system
00:14:50.700 one of the most powerful systems
00:14:52.640 involved in systemic racism.
00:14:55.340 This is open.
00:14:56.320 We hate families
00:14:57.340 is what the University of Minnesota
00:14:58.480 is saying.
00:15:00.000 And, okay,
00:15:01.260 what's the next section?
00:15:03.080 Quote,
00:15:03.820 how do we halt
00:15:04.980 and reverse
00:15:06.300 the whiteness pandemic?
00:15:08.660 If you were born
00:15:09.620 and raised
00:15:10.160 in the United States,
00:15:11.080 you have grown up
00:15:12.280 in the whiteness pandemic
00:15:14.120 and you can play a role
00:15:15.700 in halting
00:15:16.340 or reversing this pandemic,
00:15:18.200 especially if you are white
00:15:19.900 because of the power
00:15:20.820 and privilege you hold
00:15:22.000 in this racialized society.
00:15:24.420 If you were socialized
00:15:25.960 into the culture of whiteness
00:15:27.200 during your childhood,
00:15:28.440 it is not your fault,
00:15:30.020 but as an adult,
00:15:31.040 it is now your responsibility
00:15:32.780 to self-reflect,
00:15:34.620 to re-educate yourself
00:15:36.180 and act.
00:15:37.800 If you are a white adult,
00:15:40.360 anti-racist action
00:15:41.680 involves an ongoing process
00:15:43.340 of self-reflection
00:15:44.460 in order to develop
00:15:46.020 a healthy,
00:15:46.860 positive white identity
00:15:48.000 while encouraging
00:15:49.500 courageous,
00:15:50.920 anti-racist parenting
00:15:52.800 slash caregiving.
00:15:54.960 What utter
00:15:56.200 and complete garbage.
00:15:58.340 What racist,
00:15:59.480 leftist,
00:16:00.100 communist dreck.
00:16:01.880 And this is
00:16:02.640 the University of Minnesota.
00:16:03.680 By the way,
00:16:04.720 look,
00:16:05.340 there are like
00:16:06.340 great people in Minnesota.
00:16:08.480 They're great people
00:16:09.280 in every state
00:16:09.980 and yet these people
00:16:11.240 are racist radicals
00:16:13.780 and this is what
00:16:15.380 they're indoctrinating
00:16:16.500 our children with.
00:16:17.680 Not only do they
00:16:18.340 indoctrinate our children,
00:16:19.360 but this is where
00:16:19.960 a lot of our dollars,
00:16:21.060 our tax dollars go,
00:16:22.120 which is the other
00:16:22.640 frustrating part
00:16:23.400 that this is what
00:16:24.100 they're indoctrinating
00:16:24.880 them with.
00:16:26.640 Undoubtedly,
00:16:27.360 and by the way,
00:16:29.120 our podcast on Monday,
00:16:30.620 so we do this podcast
00:16:31.540 three days a week,
00:16:32.360 Monday, Wednesday,
00:16:32.960 and Friday,
00:16:33.340 our podcast on Monday
00:16:34.380 talked about
00:16:35.880 what is the number
00:16:38.720 one funder
00:16:40.980 of Al-Shabaab,
00:16:44.400 the radical
00:16:45.460 Islamic terrorist group.
00:16:47.880 And the answer,
00:16:48.820 terrifyingly enough,
00:16:49.760 is the taxpayers
00:16:50.640 of the state of Minnesota.
00:16:52.360 So Minnesota
00:16:52.940 has a huge
00:16:54.160 Somali community.
00:16:56.120 Somalis have invaded
00:16:57.300 the state of Minnesota.
00:16:58.260 It's how you elect
00:16:58.920 Ilhan Omar,
00:16:59.820 who actively
00:17:00.880 is anti-American,
00:17:03.380 racist,
00:17:04.600 radical,
00:17:05.700 embraces and supports
00:17:07.180 radical Islamic terrorists.
00:17:09.540 And the Somali community
00:17:11.740 sends billions
00:17:13.460 every year
00:17:14.400 back to Somalia,
00:17:16.540 and millions
00:17:18.420 of that money
00:17:19.780 sent back
00:17:20.420 ends up directly
00:17:21.680 in the pockets,
00:17:22.560 in the coffers
00:17:23.300 of Al-Shabaab.
00:17:24.740 And it is the
00:17:25.460 Minnesota state taxpayers.
00:17:27.340 So we detailed
00:17:28.500 this on Monday,
00:17:29.420 how
00:17:30.080 welfare fraud,
00:17:33.240 fraudulent
00:17:34.140 collection of
00:17:34.880 welfare payments,
00:17:36.520 an entire
00:17:37.360 welfare system
00:17:38.320 set up
00:17:38.980 seemingly
00:17:40.320 on the face
00:17:40.980 of it
00:17:41.260 to encourage
00:17:41.980 fraud,
00:17:42.400 to facilitate
00:17:42.960 fraud,
00:17:43.800 is resulting
00:17:45.020 in Minnesota
00:17:46.000 taxpayers
00:17:46.740 sending millions
00:17:47.720 of dollars
00:17:48.200 to radical
00:17:48.740 Islamic terrorists.
00:17:50.260 This is the
00:17:51.360 same ideology.
00:17:53.420 Like,
00:17:54.360 what do you
00:17:56.000 do
00:17:56.520 if you happen
00:17:58.300 to be a white
00:17:58.800 kid at the
00:17:59.320 University of
00:17:59.840 Minnesota?
00:18:00.340 You show up
00:18:01.020 and be told,
00:18:03.120 by the way,
00:18:03.560 you're just,
00:18:04.100 you know,
00:18:04.380 you're a 17,
00:18:05.740 18-year-old kid.
00:18:06.660 You show up
00:18:07.000 as a freshman.
00:18:08.080 And if you're
00:18:09.180 white,
00:18:09.560 you're told
00:18:09.980 you're a
00:18:10.640 pandemic,
00:18:11.460 you're a virus,
00:18:12.640 and the only
00:18:13.520 answer is
00:18:14.160 re-educate
00:18:15.220 yourself.
00:18:16.740 Because who
00:18:17.680 you are,
00:18:18.800 who America
00:18:19.600 is,
00:18:19.980 and understand
00:18:20.620 this screed
00:18:21.340 against,
00:18:21.840 quote,
00:18:22.060 anti-whiteness,
00:18:23.260 is also a
00:18:24.440 screed against
00:18:24.980 America.
00:18:25.400 These Marxists
00:18:27.100 hate the
00:18:28.260 United States
00:18:28.860 of America.
00:18:29.380 They hate
00:18:29.600 the Constitution.
00:18:30.320 They hate
00:18:30.560 our freedoms.
00:18:31.680 And this
00:18:32.500 garbage that
00:18:33.580 is anti-racism,
00:18:34.680 this garbage
00:18:35.220 that is
00:18:35.620 DEI,
00:18:36.700 this garbage
00:18:37.360 that says
00:18:37.900 we must
00:18:38.620 institutionalize.
00:18:39.520 By the way,
00:18:39.920 the fix
00:18:40.480 for the
00:18:41.440 anti-
00:18:42.400 for the
00:18:43.340 whiteness
00:18:43.700 pandemic
00:18:44.160 is to
00:18:45.160 discriminate
00:18:45.640 against
00:18:46.160 anyone who
00:18:46.780 is white.
00:18:47.320 It's to
00:18:47.640 institutionalize
00:18:48.800 racism,
00:18:49.320 and that is
00:18:50.300 grotesque.
00:18:50.920 It is wrong.
00:18:51.720 It is contrary
00:18:52.600 to the
00:18:53.600 14th Amendment
00:18:54.320 of the
00:18:54.580 Constitution,
00:18:55.240 which protects,
00:18:56.520 provides the
00:18:57.100 equal protection
00:18:57.720 of the law
00:18:58.780 to all people
00:18:59.660 regardless of
00:19:00.640 race.
00:19:01.500 It is contrary
00:19:02.580 to the founding
00:19:03.120 notions of this
00:19:03.920 country.
00:19:04.540 The Declaration
00:19:05.420 said we
00:19:06.860 hold these
00:19:07.320 truths to be
00:19:07.760 self-evident
00:19:08.260 that all
00:19:09.300 men are
00:19:10.000 created equal,
00:19:10.800 not some,
00:19:11.780 not just white
00:19:12.660 people,
00:19:13.000 not just black
00:19:13.500 people,
00:19:13.820 not anyone,
00:19:14.540 all men
00:19:15.240 and all women
00:19:15.940 are created
00:19:16.460 equal,
00:19:16.880 that they are
00:19:17.200 endowed by
00:19:17.860 their creator
00:19:18.460 with certain
00:19:18.940 unalienable
00:19:19.420 rights,
00:19:20.200 that among
00:19:20.800 them are life,
00:19:21.700 liberty,
00:19:21.920 and the pursuit
00:19:22.320 of happiness.
00:19:22.960 That's what
00:19:23.380 this country
00:19:23.860 was built
00:19:24.340 on,
00:19:24.980 and these
00:19:25.620 Marxists
00:19:26.280 who have
00:19:26.580 taken over
00:19:27.080 our institutions
00:19:27.760 hate that
00:19:29.460 notion,
00:19:30.840 and this
00:19:31.260 kind of
00:19:31.620 garbage is
00:19:32.200 being spewed
00:19:33.640 to our
00:19:34.140 children and
00:19:34.820 being used
00:19:35.320 to brainwash
00:19:36.120 our children
00:19:36.740 at a massive
00:19:38.680 rate.
00:19:39.520 I tell this
00:19:39.980 all the time
00:19:40.420 to parents
00:19:40.820 when they
00:19:41.080 ask,
00:19:41.400 be careful
00:19:41.820 where you
00:19:42.180 send your
00:19:42.640 kids to
00:19:43.180 college,
00:19:43.620 because they
00:19:44.420 could be
00:19:44.720 indoctrinated
00:19:45.220 to literally
00:19:45.700 hate this
00:19:46.460 country.
00:19:47.480 This is
00:19:47.760 another example
00:19:49.080 of exactly
00:19:50.120 that.
00:19:50.380 And to hate
00:19:50.840 their mom
00:19:51.220 and dad.
00:19:51.600 By the
00:19:52.540 way,
00:19:53.060 what I
00:19:53.560 just read,
00:19:54.180 the family
00:19:54.900 system,
00:19:55.620 they are
00:19:55.960 attacking
00:19:56.540 families.
00:19:57.160 They're
00:19:57.420 telling your
00:19:58.540 kids,
00:19:59.540 family is
00:20:00.580 evil.
00:20:01.180 That's what
00:20:01.720 Marxists
00:20:02.240 believe.
00:20:03.520 As before,
00:20:04.560 if you want
00:20:05.020 to hear the
00:20:05.360 rest of
00:20:05.700 this conversation
00:20:06.460 on this
00:20:07.220 topic,
00:20:07.740 you can go
00:20:08.140 back and
00:20:08.620 download the
00:20:09.160 podcast from
00:20:09.980 early this
00:20:10.440 week to
00:20:10.760 hear the
00:20:11.040 entire thing.
00:20:12.820 I want to
00:20:13.460 get back to
00:20:14.100 the big story
00:20:15.100 number three
00:20:15.640 of the week
00:20:16.040 you may have
00:20:16.480 missed.
00:20:17.360 This is
00:20:17.820 something that
00:20:18.300 you've been
00:20:18.700 talking about
00:20:19.220 for a while.
00:20:20.320 Yep.
00:20:20.920 Designating the
00:20:21.480 Muslim Brotherhood
00:20:22.300 as a terrorist
00:20:22.740 organization,
00:20:23.340 and Texas is
00:20:25.160 now taking a
00:20:25.740 big step.
00:20:26.320 I think this is
00:20:27.000 going to be a
00:20:27.320 great example for
00:20:28.040 the rest of the
00:20:28.480 country.
00:20:29.620 Talk about how
00:20:30.720 big of a
00:20:31.120 victory this is
00:20:31.820 in Texas
00:20:32.340 leading the
00:20:32.780 way.
00:20:33.420 Well, it's a
00:20:34.040 big victory.
00:20:34.580 Let me tell you
00:20:34.960 about what
00:20:35.300 Texas did,
00:20:36.040 and I'm going
00:20:36.360 to take it
00:20:37.040 more broadly
00:20:37.620 into the
00:20:38.020 national fight
00:20:38.780 over designating
00:20:39.480 the Muslim
00:20:39.840 Brotherhood.
00:20:40.880 So Texas
00:20:41.400 this week
00:20:41.980 declared CARE
00:20:42.980 and the Muslim
00:20:43.500 Brotherhood as
00:20:44.040 terrorist groups
00:20:44.740 preventing land
00:20:45.800 purchases.
00:20:46.500 Let me read
00:20:46.920 from Fox News.
00:20:48.360 Texas Governor
00:20:48.940 Greg Abbott
00:20:49.500 designated the
00:20:50.200 Council on
00:20:50.780 American-Islamic
00:20:51.880 Relations CARE
00:20:52.860 and the Muslim
00:20:53.640 Brotherhood as
00:20:54.320 Foreign Terrorist
00:20:55.640 and Transnational
00:20:56.580 Criminal
00:20:56.940 Organizations
00:20:57.660 Tuesday.
00:20:58.960 Preventing both
00:20:59.880 groups from
00:21:00.500 obtaining land
00:21:01.560 in the Lone
00:21:02.240 Star State.
00:21:03.760 Abbott said in
00:21:04.360 a statement that
00:21:04.960 he made the
00:21:05.400 move as
00:21:06.100 quote,
00:21:06.500 the Muslim
00:21:06.840 Brotherhood and
00:21:07.480 CARE have
00:21:07.980 long made
00:21:08.620 their goals
00:21:09.120 clear.
00:21:10.240 To forcibly
00:21:10.940 impose Sharia
00:21:11.900 law and
00:21:12.800 establish Islam's
00:21:14.280 mastership of
00:21:15.080 the world.
00:21:16.600 The actions
00:21:17.160 taken by the
00:21:17.820 Muslim
00:21:18.040 Brotherhood and
00:21:18.620 CARE to
00:21:19.040 support terrorism
00:21:19.820 across the
00:21:20.380 globe and
00:21:20.920 subvert our
00:21:21.440 laws through
00:21:21.980 violence,
00:21:22.620 intimidation,
00:21:23.280 and harassment
00:21:23.800 are unacceptable.
00:21:25.780 Today, I
00:21:26.860 designated the
00:21:27.560 Muslim Brotherhood and
00:21:28.380 CARE as
00:21:28.940 foreign terrorist
00:21:29.680 organizations and
00:21:30.680 transnational
00:21:31.500 criminal
00:21:32.280 organizations.
00:21:33.940 These radical
00:21:34.700 extremists are not
00:21:35.760 welcome in our
00:21:36.380 state and are now
00:21:37.300 prohibited from
00:21:37.980 acquiring any real
00:21:39.120 property interest in
00:21:40.200 Texas.
00:21:41.500 A proclamation signed
00:21:42.800 by Abbott claims that
00:21:43.800 CARE, quote,
00:21:44.540 is an Islamist
00:21:45.540 organization that,
00:21:46.760 according to the
00:21:47.100 FBI, was founded as a
00:21:49.300 front group for Hamas
00:21:50.740 and its support network
00:21:52.280 in the United States.
00:21:53.640 It added that, quote,
00:21:55.820 CARE and its members
00:21:56.940 have repeatedly
00:21:57.580 employed, affiliated
00:21:58.860 with, and supported
00:21:59.940 individuals promoting
00:22:01.300 terrorism-related
00:22:02.280 activities, including
00:22:04.200 Ghassan Elashi, a
00:22:06.760 founding member of the
00:22:07.620 Texas Branch for
00:22:08.440 CARE and treasurer of
00:22:10.000 the Holy Land Foundation
00:22:11.260 for Relief and
00:22:12.040 Development charity,
00:22:13.560 quote, who was
00:22:14.240 sentenced to a total
00:22:15.220 of 65 years in
00:22:16.660 prison for financing
00:22:18.380 terrorism in 2009.
00:22:19.820 The proclamation also
00:22:21.600 states that Hamas
00:22:22.680 was, quote,
00:22:23.800 formed in 1987 as
00:22:25.500 the Palestinian branch
00:22:26.540 of the Muslim
00:22:26.960 Brotherhood, and that
00:22:28.300 activities of the
00:22:29.000 Muslim Brotherhood
00:22:29.620 branches have similarly
00:22:30.580 been eliminated or
00:22:31.640 prohibited by the
00:22:33.600 governments of
00:22:34.200 Austria, Bahrain,
00:22:35.860 Egypt, Jordan,
00:22:36.780 Saudi Arabia, and the
00:22:37.600 United Arab Emirates
00:22:38.620 in light of the
00:22:39.780 Muslim Brotherhood
00:22:40.500 encouraging terrorism
00:22:41.680 or attempting to
00:22:42.720 destabilize these
00:22:43.640 countries.
00:22:44.640 Look, this is real
00:22:45.640 leadership from the
00:22:46.620 state of Texas.
00:22:47.500 It is what the
00:22:48.600 federal government
00:22:49.200 should be doing.
00:22:50.040 The Muslim
00:22:50.400 Brotherhood, I
00:22:50.940 believe, is
00:22:51.280 unquestionably a
00:22:52.180 terrorist organization,
00:22:53.140 and we have yet to
00:22:55.260 designate them, as
00:22:56.440 Governor Abbott noted,
00:22:57.840 many other countries
00:22:58.660 on earth have, and I
00:22:59.860 believe the United
00:23:00.560 States, during the
00:23:01.920 Trump administration,
00:23:02.900 we're going to do
00:23:03.360 this.
00:23:03.620 I've introduced
00:23:04.040 legislation literally
00:23:05.140 for 10 years to make
00:23:06.220 this happen at a
00:23:06.880 federal level.
00:23:07.680 So what has been the
00:23:08.600 holdup there for
00:23:09.360 people that are new
00:23:10.020 to this subject?
00:23:10.740 We talked about
00:23:11.300 before, maybe they
00:23:11.980 missed an episode.
00:23:13.020 How the hell is it
00:23:13.840 so hard to get the
00:23:15.820 Muslim Brotherhood to
00:23:16.700 be declared a
00:23:17.580 terrorist organization
00:23:18.280 through the U.S.
00:23:19.080 government?
00:23:19.560 What is the holdup?
00:23:20.800 You mentioned it.
00:23:21.580 This is like a
00:23:22.100 decades-long fight
00:23:23.000 now.
00:23:23.700 So for five
00:23:24.620 consecutive
00:23:25.100 congresses, I've
00:23:25.920 introduced legislation
00:23:26.900 to designate the
00:23:27.680 Muslim Brotherhood.
00:23:28.640 The holdup, we got
00:23:29.900 very close during the
00:23:31.360 first Trump
00:23:31.880 administration.
00:23:32.320 I thought we were
00:23:33.120 going to get it
00:23:33.520 done during the
00:23:34.260 first Trump
00:23:34.680 administration.
00:23:35.920 The resistance was
00:23:37.520 from the deep state
00:23:38.820 at the State
00:23:39.360 Department, the
00:23:39.980 career bureaucrats
00:23:41.020 there, and I'll
00:23:42.300 tell you, the old
00:23:43.020 versions of the
00:23:43.700 legislation, the way I
00:23:44.740 wrote it, it was
00:23:45.400 top-down.
00:23:46.040 What does that
00:23:46.540 mean?
00:23:46.780 It directed the
00:23:47.940 State Department to
00:23:49.260 designate the Global
00:23:50.480 Muslim Brotherhood, which
00:23:51.440 is the big umbrella
00:23:52.340 organization as a
00:23:53.380 terrorist organization.
00:23:54.880 Here's the argument the
00:23:56.160 career employees at State
00:23:57.360 made.
00:23:57.640 They said, look, there are
00:23:58.420 lots of different
00:23:59.080 affiliates of the
00:23:59.740 Muslim Brotherhood.
00:24:01.040 We cannot definitively
00:24:02.620 prove that every one of
00:24:03.960 the affiliates meets the
00:24:05.280 statutory criteria for being
00:24:06.780 a terrorist organization.
00:24:07.980 That's how they stopped it
00:24:09.260 from happening in Trump.
00:24:10.720 So in Trump 2, I rewrote
00:24:13.560 the legislation, and
00:24:14.600 instead of being
00:24:15.560 top-down, I rewrote it
00:24:18.600 to be bottom-up.
00:24:19.540 And so what the
00:24:20.100 legislation currently
00:24:21.060 says is it says that
00:24:23.820 the State Department
00:24:24.700 should designate every
00:24:26.220 one of the Muslim
00:24:27.100 Brotherhood affiliates for
00:24:28.300 which the evidence is
00:24:29.420 clear and unequivocal as
00:24:31.600 terrorist organizations.
00:24:32.700 For example, Hamas.
00:24:34.100 Yeah.
00:24:34.580 Hamas is the Muslim
00:24:35.740 Brotherhood in Palestine.
00:24:36.880 It is indisputable that
00:24:38.380 Hamas is a terrorist
00:24:39.600 organization.
00:24:40.720 They carried out
00:24:41.500 October 7th, murdered
00:24:42.680 1,200 Israelis, raped
00:24:44.220 and murdered women
00:24:45.360 and little girls.
00:24:46.800 Hamas is unquestionably
00:24:47.980 a terrorist organization.
00:24:49.100 That's true of multiple
00:24:50.300 Muslim Brotherhood
00:24:51.060 affiliates.
00:24:52.080 What my new legislation
00:24:53.220 said is designate
00:24:54.360 those affiliates, and
00:24:56.180 then it directs the
00:24:57.320 State Department to
00:24:58.240 designate the Global
00:24:59.520 Muslim Brotherhood
00:25:00.400 because it gives money
00:25:01.740 to those affiliates,
00:25:02.700 and so designate the
00:25:04.240 umbrella organization for
00:25:05.860 material support of,
00:25:07.100 for giving money to
00:25:08.360 unquestionable terrorist
00:25:10.640 organizations.
00:25:11.540 Now, part of the reason
00:25:13.260 I think we're going to
00:25:13.800 get this done is that
00:25:15.000 chain of reasoning,
00:25:16.220 there's not a step in
00:25:17.160 that reasoning that is
00:25:18.920 assailable.
00:25:19.640 The deep state can't
00:25:20.840 fight that.
00:25:22.000 Yeah.
00:25:22.740 But at the end of the
00:25:23.560 day, let me tell you,
00:25:24.200 this is not going to be a
00:25:25.420 fight, I think, that is
00:25:26.460 won legislatively.
00:25:27.920 So I've introduced the
00:25:28.760 legislation.
00:25:29.980 I tried very, very hard
00:25:31.420 in this Congress to get a
00:25:32.520 Democrat to support me.
00:25:34.000 I will tell you, I talked
00:25:35.120 to numerous Democrats.
00:25:36.860 They said no.
00:25:37.460 They said no.
00:25:38.880 Look, the Democrat
00:25:39.640 Party is very afraid,
00:25:41.900 unfortunately, of
00:25:43.120 disturbing the pro-Hamas
00:25:45.080 wing of their party.
00:25:46.880 In the House, the
00:25:49.440 companion legislation to
00:25:50.880 my legislation has four
00:25:52.120 Democrats on board, so we
00:25:53.280 do have some Democrat
00:25:54.140 support.
00:25:54.980 I was able to get one
00:25:56.040 Democrat, so John
00:25:56.940 Fetterman is supporting
00:25:57.840 me.
00:25:58.100 So the legislation is
00:25:59.140 Cruz Fetterman.
00:25:59.860 It is bipartisan.
00:26:01.220 By the way, can we just
00:26:02.100 pause there and just talk
00:26:03.180 about how cool that is?
00:26:04.600 The more that we have
00:26:06.700 interacted, that you've
00:26:07.500 interacted with, John, the
00:26:08.540 more respect I really do
00:26:09.660 have for him as a Democrat,
00:26:11.240 the way he stood up to his
00:26:12.240 party on the shutdown.
00:26:13.840 Look, there are some
00:26:14.800 places where you don't win
00:26:16.340 races.
00:26:17.300 I never thought I would
00:26:18.460 say I am thankful for
00:26:19.640 John Fetterman and his
00:26:20.980 leadership in the Senate
00:26:21.980 when he was first elected.
00:26:23.800 I got to tell you, he may
00:26:25.320 be the biggest surprise in
00:26:26.580 the last decade for me of
00:26:28.780 a true Democrat
00:26:30.680 statesman that is
00:26:32.700 willing to come to the
00:26:34.040 table on sane issues
00:26:35.900 like the government
00:26:36.540 shutdown or like this.
00:26:38.300 And I think when this
00:26:39.800 happens, we as
00:26:40.620 conservatives should take
00:26:41.740 that moment and say job
00:26:42.900 well done to Senator
00:26:44.220 Fetterman.
00:26:45.040 I'm really impressed
00:26:46.440 because there's a lot of
00:26:47.200 issues.
00:26:47.520 He says politics are
00:26:48.520 aside.
00:26:49.260 I don't care the heat I'm
00:26:50.220 going to get from my party
00:26:51.080 for this.
00:26:51.480 I'm going to do the right
00:26:52.520 thing.
00:26:53.000 We used to have a lot more
00:26:54.360 of that in politics.
00:26:55.480 Yeah, it used to be much
00:26:56.740 more commonplace.
00:26:58.300 When I showed up in the
00:26:59.480 Senate 13 years ago,
00:27:00.840 there was such a thing as
00:27:02.140 moderate Democrats.
00:27:04.620 They largely don't exist.
00:27:06.100 Actually, someone before
00:27:07.360 that was Kyrsten Sinema.
00:27:08.820 Kyrsten Sinema was
00:27:09.620 elected from Arizona.
00:27:11.760 When she came in, there
00:27:13.420 was not a whole lot of
00:27:14.360 reason to believe she would
00:27:15.400 be a moderate.
00:27:16.020 And I will say, Kyrsten,
00:27:17.040 I really like Kyrsten.
00:27:18.140 She stood up to her
00:27:19.040 party.
00:27:19.440 She demonstrated real
00:27:20.460 courage.
00:27:21.380 And you know what
00:27:21.860 happened?
00:27:22.160 The Democrats chased her
00:27:23.240 out of the party.
00:27:23.900 Both Sinema and Joe
00:27:24.840 Manchin, who were the
00:27:25.600 only two Democrats who
00:27:26.580 said no to eliminating
00:27:28.580 the filibuster, the
00:27:29.720 Democrats chased both of
00:27:31.020 them out of the party.
00:27:31.840 They said, we don't want
00:27:32.820 any dissent.
00:27:33.520 You must obey the
00:27:35.280 dictates of the radical
00:27:36.340 left.
00:27:36.900 Well, John Fetterman got
00:27:38.600 elected.
00:27:39.340 And listen, you and I
00:27:40.380 both did not support him
00:27:42.260 when he was running for
00:27:43.240 the Senate to begin with.
00:27:44.940 He was a Democrat.
00:27:46.340 And his prior record as
00:27:48.040 Lieutenant Governor of
00:27:48.900 Pennsylvania gave little
00:27:50.520 reason to think that he
00:27:52.140 would be anything other
00:27:53.040 than a left-wing Democrat.
00:27:54.360 That's certainly what I
00:27:55.340 anticipated.
00:27:56.940 He has astonished me.
00:27:58.500 I like John personally.
00:28:00.260 He obviously, during the
00:28:01.600 campaign, suffered a
00:28:03.380 stroke.
00:28:03.800 He had serious medical
00:28:06.500 issues.
00:28:07.020 It was very difficult.
00:28:08.020 His mind could not
00:28:09.000 process the spoken word.
00:28:10.640 So when he was newly
00:28:11.480 elected, you would talk
00:28:13.360 to him, but he would
00:28:14.220 carry around an iPad that
00:28:16.260 translated the words that
00:28:17.860 are being said into text.
00:28:19.080 And he would have to read
00:28:19.760 the iPad because it was
00:28:20.880 just one of the
00:28:21.360 consequences of the
00:28:22.180 stroke, that when you
00:28:22.820 talk to him, his brain
00:28:24.880 was operating, but the
00:28:26.260 input of the oral
00:28:28.440 spoken word did not
00:28:30.560 make it through.
00:28:31.820 I will say his health
00:28:33.200 has improved significantly.
00:28:34.700 He's now able to have a
00:28:35.860 conversation and engage.
00:28:37.300 So the aftermath of the
00:28:39.100 stroke, thankfully, has
00:28:39.960 gotten better.
00:28:41.400 But Fetterman has shown
00:28:42.600 real courage in standing
00:28:44.280 up to his party on the
00:28:45.240 shutdown.
00:28:46.140 He stood up to Schumer
00:28:47.140 and said, this shutdown
00:28:47.960 is stupid.
00:28:48.540 We need to end the
00:28:49.220 shutdown.
00:28:49.740 And on Israel, the level
00:28:51.860 of courage he has shown
00:28:53.200 by saying the pro-Hamas
00:28:54.540 wing of our party is
00:28:55.620 wrong.
00:28:55.980 It is terrible.
00:28:57.460 And I, John Fetterman,
00:28:58.660 are proud to stand with
00:28:59.480 Israel.
00:28:59.940 It's been heroic.
00:29:01.900 And I got to say, he's
00:29:02.940 been demonized by his own
00:29:04.680 party.
00:29:05.140 The Democrats, they treat
00:29:07.840 him terribly.
00:29:08.820 The Republicans in the
00:29:09.640 Senate treat him much
00:29:10.480 better than the Democrats
00:29:11.340 do.
00:29:11.840 Well, and not only demonize
00:29:12.880 him, this goes back to
00:29:13.940 his civility.
00:29:14.700 He had a fall this past
00:29:16.100 week, and Democrats were
00:29:18.260 cheering his fall before we
00:29:21.020 even knew, like, his
00:29:21.900 health.
00:29:22.160 Now, he put up a picture
00:29:22.960 of himself.
00:29:23.840 I was glad to see he's
00:29:24.780 going to be okay.
00:29:25.440 But, like, it just tells
00:29:26.640 you about how much, if
00:29:27.760 you don't get in line with
00:29:28.760 the Democratic Party, it
00:29:30.100 doesn't matter if your name's
00:29:30.820 Fetterman or Schumer at this
00:29:32.740 point, or Nancy Pelosi.
00:29:34.220 Like, it is off with your
00:29:35.800 heads in the Democratic
00:29:36.600 Party as a leadership
00:29:37.980 perspective from them.
00:29:39.320 They are done with you if you
00:29:41.340 are not going to the extreme
00:29:42.580 left on every issue.
00:29:43.820 So, Ben, it's worse than that.
00:29:46.180 When Fetterman newly arrived in
00:29:48.100 the Senate, the Democrats all
00:29:49.360 assumed he would just be a
00:29:50.700 left-wing, reliable vote.
00:29:52.440 And so you had all the
00:29:53.140 Democrats putting out
00:29:53.940 statement, he's fine, his
00:29:55.080 health is not a problem.
00:29:56.040 And as I said, the stroke had
00:29:57.240 very real and limiting effects
00:29:59.320 on him.
00:29:59.820 I mean, it was significant.
00:30:02.340 But every Democrat defended
00:30:04.260 him.
00:30:04.740 And then, as his health started
00:30:06.180 to get better, he was willing
00:30:09.020 to buck the Democrats.
00:30:10.260 And if you disagree with the
00:30:11.860 Democrat Party line on even
00:30:13.060 one issue, but especially on
00:30:14.500 an issue like the current
00:30:16.480 Democrat Party's embrace of
00:30:18.140 Hamas and their anti-Israel
00:30:20.140 animus, they turned on him
00:30:22.880 viciously.
00:30:23.620 And I've got to tell you,
00:30:24.300 there have been dozens of
00:30:25.640 articles written with quotes
00:30:28.080 from Democrat senators,
00:30:29.520 Democrat staffers, just doing
00:30:31.700 everything they could to
00:30:33.520 shiv him, to say, to actually
00:30:35.960 attack his mental capability
00:30:37.600 and say, oh, he's not able to
00:30:38.880 do the job.
00:30:39.460 The irony is, they attacked
00:30:42.100 him once he had improved
00:30:43.400 significantly and was
00:30:44.420 recovering, but yet, in their
00:30:47.220 view, the unforgivable sin was
00:30:49.400 daring to deviate from what
00:30:50.980 every other Democrat was
00:30:52.100 saying.
00:30:53.220 And I view Fetterman as the
00:30:55.040 exception that proves the
00:30:56.180 rule.
00:30:57.320 That being said, this
00:30:59.320 legislation to designate the
00:31:00.640 Muslim Brotherhood at the
00:31:01.480 national level, it's Cruz
00:31:02.540 Fetterman, to pass, we would
00:31:05.940 need 60 senators.
00:31:07.020 That would mean we would need
00:31:08.220 at least seven Democrats.
00:31:10.980 I have no indication that
00:31:12.700 seven Democrats are likely to
00:31:14.260 support this.
00:31:14.840 I'm going to try.
00:31:15.580 I'm going to keep pressing it.
00:31:17.120 We'll see.
00:31:17.780 We'll put it for a vote.
00:31:18.780 I would love to have that
00:31:20.540 bipartisan support.
00:31:21.560 But as of now, I've not been
00:31:24.300 able to get any other
00:31:25.160 Democrats.
00:31:25.600 How discouraging is it?
00:31:26.640 I mean, when you ran for
00:31:27.480 Senate, you know, several
00:31:28.920 years ago, did you ever think
00:31:30.840 you'd you would govern in a
00:31:34.000 body, work with a group of
00:31:35.320 people where you can't even get
00:31:36.480 agreement on a designating a
00:31:39.000 terrorist organization, a
00:31:40.160 terrorist organization?
00:31:41.840 Oh, look, partisan politics has
00:31:43.840 always been part of Washington.
00:31:45.640 That being said, it's gotten
00:31:48.020 much, much worse.
00:31:49.080 And actually, when President
00:31:50.120 Trump, when President Trump
00:31:52.080 got elected in 2016, it broke
00:31:54.520 the heads of the Democrats.
00:31:55.980 Their minds are melted.
00:31:57.100 They just hate him.
00:31:58.020 And so there's much less
00:31:59.860 middle ground.
00:32:00.480 But anyway, my strategy on the
00:32:02.700 Muslim Brotherhood legislation is
00:32:04.180 not necessarily to pass it through
00:32:05.940 Congress, although I'd love to.
00:32:07.100 I'm going to continue trying to
00:32:08.560 pass it through Congress.
00:32:10.160 But it is instead to build the
00:32:12.300 public case for this so that the
00:32:14.580 Trump administration does so
00:32:16.140 unilaterally.
00:32:16.820 They have the authority to do so.
00:32:18.100 There's no dispute.
00:32:18.920 As I said, in Trump one, we
00:32:20.920 almost got it done.
00:32:22.180 And I believe that President
00:32:24.140 Trump will do so.
00:32:25.200 I think he'll do so probably in
00:32:26.520 the next year.
00:32:27.920 I was in the White House just a
00:32:30.240 couple of weeks ago.
00:32:30.960 I talked with the president
00:32:31.880 directly about designating the
00:32:33.700 Muslim Brotherhood.
00:32:35.440 I have met with Seb Gorka, who
00:32:38.100 is the senior official
00:32:39.320 and the National Security
00:32:40.220 Council, who's handling this
00:32:41.360 issue, as I've talked with Seb
00:32:42.440 about it.
00:32:43.820 I believe the Trump
00:32:44.920 administration will do it this
00:32:46.320 time.
00:32:46.660 I think the fact that we
00:32:47.600 redesigned it to be bottom-up
00:32:49.060 is going to make it much
00:32:50.860 harder for the deep state to
00:32:52.420 oppose it.
00:32:53.660 And I want to commend Greg
00:32:54.820 Abbott in the state of Texas
00:32:55.760 because Texas is designating
00:32:57.580 the Muslim Brotherhood and
00:32:58.600 CARE as well really helps for
00:33:01.420 building the momentum.
00:33:02.620 The whole purpose of the
00:33:03.460 legislative push is to build
00:33:05.540 the momentum to provide the
00:33:06.780 air cover for the Trump
00:33:08.820 administration to do so, and
00:33:10.300 I think that's going to
00:33:10.900 happen.
00:33:11.880 All right.
00:33:12.520 I also want to bring up CARE,
00:33:13.940 and this is another aspect of
00:33:15.640 this, you know, legislation in
00:33:19.300 Texas making it clear.
00:33:20.660 It's not just the Muslim
00:33:21.400 Brotherhood.
00:33:21.920 It's also CARE.
00:33:22.880 This one's a little bit more of
00:33:24.280 a complicated organization.
00:33:25.980 Break that down why they're
00:33:27.300 also getting on the list.
00:33:28.980 Yeah, it's not actually that
00:33:30.220 complicated.
00:33:31.060 I mean, CARE is a domestic
00:33:32.160 organization.
00:33:33.160 They have previously been
00:33:34.120 implicated in supporting Hamas,
00:33:35.600 supporting other terrorist
00:33:36.700 organizations.
00:33:38.620 Let me read a story from the
00:33:40.100 New York Post.
00:33:40.900 It's entitled,
00:33:41.580 Muslim Group CARE Cutting
00:33:42.840 $1,000 Checks for Anti-Israel
00:33:45.840 Agitators Who Have Been
00:33:47.000 Disciplined by Colleges.
00:33:48.140 And here's what the New York
00:33:48.820 Post reported.
00:33:50.300 Anti-Israel agitators who
00:33:51.640 spread disruption at U.S.
00:33:52.980 colleges and were punished by
00:33:54.940 authorities were awarded
00:33:56.700 checks for $1,000 by a
00:33:59.280 Muslim non-profit, the Post
00:34:00.500 has learned.
00:34:01.560 The money was given to
00:34:02.540 students who faced penalties
00:34:03.660 for leading pro-Palestinian
00:34:05.200 protests before and after the
00:34:06.880 Hamas attack on Israel on
00:34:08.760 October 7, 2023, according to
00:34:11.300 a bombshell report by the
00:34:12.580 Network Contagion Research
00:34:13.740 Institute and the Intelligent
00:34:15.440 Advocacy Network.
00:34:17.520 The cash was awarded from a
00:34:19.060 quote,
00:34:19.460 Champions of Justice Fund set
00:34:21.240 up by a California chapter of
00:34:23.280 the Council on American
00:34:24.840 Islamic Relations CARE as an
00:34:27.420 institutional endorsement, the
00:34:29.000 report claims.
00:34:30.480 In California, the largest arm of
00:34:32.220 the CARE web of non-profits,
00:34:33.480 affiliates in San Francisco and
00:34:35.720 Los Angeles raised more than
00:34:37.380 $100,000 in donations for the
00:34:40.940 campus radicals, while the main
00:34:42.960 group solicited $64,000 in
00:34:45.660 donations, records show.
00:34:47.860 The money was then offered as
00:34:49.580 interest-free loans in grants of
00:34:52.120 $1,000 to students who lost
00:34:54.020 scholarships, housing, or other
00:34:55.960 support because of their advocacy,
00:34:57.480 according to CARE's website.
00:34:59.440 This is, you have CARE literally,
00:35:01.360 you want to know why you had
00:35:02.600 anti-Semitic protests on college
00:35:04.340 campuses.
00:35:05.360 I've been saying from the
00:35:06.380 beginning, follow the money.
00:35:08.160 There's clear money behind it.
00:35:10.240 Follow the money.
00:35:11.140 The tents all matched, and it's
00:35:13.380 because this is being funded, and
00:35:15.080 this is being funded by Islamists,
00:35:17.340 this is being funded by communists,
00:35:19.040 this is being funded by foreign
00:35:20.300 nations, this is being funded by
00:35:21.820 left-wing, billionaire donors who
00:35:25.220 frankly want to undermine America.
00:35:26.940 And so, Texas designating CARE as
00:35:29.400 well, that's a big step forward
00:35:31.240 also.
00:35:32.440 As always, thank you for
00:35:34.280 listening to Verdict with Senator
00:35:35.920 Ted Cruz, Ben Ferguson with you.
