00:05:03.620 And then that is on top of another local station that just exposed a massive trucking company fraud.
00:05:11.080 All of these trucking companies, like dozens and dozens, all at the same exact address in these suites.

00:05:56.640 he can do real news work in a way that CNN, ABC, NBC, they don't do anymore. But this story,
00:06:04.760 I want to read a good chunk of this story because if you haven't read it, you need to know what's in
00:06:08.940 it. It's entitled Daily Wire Investigation Reveals One of the Biggest Government Waste Scandals
00:06:14.100 Hiding in Plain Sight. I've been investigating federal waste and fraud for 20 years. This is
00:06:19.920 the biggest scandal I've ever found. Columbus, Ohio, just before the Department of Government
00:06:25.420 Efficiency closed its doors. It made a quiet move that may end up being its most lasting impact
00:06:31.800 on the federal deficit. Doge published a massive trove of data in February that for the first time
00:06:39.240 let the public see what companies are billing Medicaid for. For decades, the payouts have
00:06:46.040 been shrouded in secrecy. One of the largest government programs was a black box. I've spent
00:06:52.960 the past two months diving into the numbers. What I found was the most blatant waste of federal
00:06:58.040 dollars that I've encountered in my two decades as an investigative reporter. I've set my sights
00:07:05.260 in Ohio, which, like Minnesota, has been granted waivers to expand Medicaid well beyond its original
00:07:12.440 purpose. Under the guise of health care, Ohio pays people to go to Medicaid beneficiaries' homes
00:07:19.760 to perform, quote, homemaking and, quote, chores, like cooking and cleaning. The people performing
00:07:27.860 these quote personal services tasks don't even have to be health care workers and in many cases
00:07:33.160 are actually relatives of the medicaid recipient according to a daily wire data analysis
00:07:41.760 ohio spent a billion dollars billion with a b on home health care in 2024 the last year for which
00:07:50.160 data is available since the services are performed inside private residences there's no way to know
00:07:57.380 whether the workers went at all, or what they're actually doing in exchange for taxpayer funds.
00:08:03.540 An infinite number of small black boxes inside a black box. Multiple signs said the service
00:08:11.400 provided and billed to the government was sometimes just, quote, companionship and
00:08:18.760 conversation. So understand, you can talk to your relatives, you can hang out with your relatives

00:10:11.560 is going to pay you to do it, one home health operator told me. People see it as lucrative,
00:10:16.960 so they just jump on it. The new welfare queens aren't the recipients whose low incomes qualify
00:10:23.340 them for poverty programs. They're the companies getting rich off them. Now listen to these
00:10:28.380 companies. Driving down Cleveland Avenue in less than 40 seconds, you come across endless home
00:10:35.140 health companies. Capital home health. Continental home health. Dynamic home health care. Ohio
00:10:42.700 senior home health care. Entire buildings throughout the city are filled entirely with
00:10:48.440 what appear to be identical businesses. The enormous complex pictured below, and there's
00:10:54.980 a picture in the article, is 6161 Bush Boulevard. Its lack of windows would be a problem for most
00:11:02.760 office buildings, but there is almost no one in this one. What's inside is 94 different companies
00:11:13.320 signed up to bill Medicaid, each with a tiny office, often marked with a sheet of paper
00:11:19.600 proclaiming some generic company name ending in Home Health LLC. And sometimes, this is particularly
00:11:26.960 funny, another piece of paper claiming the employees had just stepped out for a break. Mind
00:11:32.080 you they've all stepped out for a break and they never come back yeah this building alone
00:11:36.980 billed taxpayers 66 million dollars in the span of a few years the records show
00:11:45.300 pick the owner of a columbus home health care company at random and look them up on public
00:11:50.660 records you're likely to go down an endless rabbit hole years of unpaid taxes and debts
00:11:56.860 sometimes criminal records and an astonishing number of llcs created in other industries as
00:12:02.700 if the millions they make from medicaid are just a side gig we went down several of those rabbit
00:12:08.520 holes in the coming days you'll meet and i'm going to give you several of these examples
00:12:11.720 every one of these is going to piss you off these are real people or at least real fake people
00:12:17.540 uh in ohio number one a politician who founded an 11 million dollar home health care company
00:12:27.860 that he appeared to run part-time without even mentioning it in his political biography
00:12:35.160 who then funded his campaign he funded his campaign with donations from other home health
00:12:45.620 care owners. So this is a guy robbing $11 million. He's hiding it because obviously he's embarrassed
00:12:53.400 about it. And he's relying on other fraudsters to fund his political operation. This is the
00:13:00.220 shameless grift, the cycle of thievery that we're seeing over and over again. All right, here's
00:13:05.320 another one. Number two, a woman who reinvented her janitorial LLC. So she had a janitorial company
00:13:12.420 as a, quote, health provider.

00:14:55.300 address of a convicted money launderer's teenage son. Now, I'm going to say, Ben, if you're listening
00:15:02.080 to this, if you're not pissed off, you're not paying attention. I mean, Senator, this story
00:15:07.620 really brings us back to even a bigger point and that is this is probably nationwide like what
00:15:13.680 we're witnessing what we're saying this is going to end up being fraud at different levels probably
00:15:18.840 in every state of america because you're still dealing with fraud through the federal government
00:15:24.600 so you can set up shop anywhere because it's not like it's a lot of state oversight here
00:15:28.480 well listen this is brazen uh these are fraudsters who believe no politician will ever call them to
00:15:36.840 account. No government employee will ever examine the facts. No prosecutor will look at it. And
00:15:42.480 they're quite confident that the press will never examine it. These are not geniuses. Let me read a
00:15:47.560 little more from the story. These are not, in fact, here's the point I was just making. These are not
00:15:52.120 business geniuses, nor even people with any training or specialty in the health field.
00:15:58.000 They've often failed at a variety of businesses before suddenly becoming millionaires in home
00:16:03.300 healthcare. Sometimes a company will have a full roster of clients in its very first month,
00:16:08.500 making one wonder where the clients come from. The companies don't have websites or appear to
00:16:15.480 advertise. They can't stand out from their thousands of rivals based on price unless they
00:16:21.680 pay kickbacks because the government pays the same to everyone. Nearly every owner of a healthcare
00:16:29.820 company in Columbus appears to be foreign. Let me repeat that because that's a stunning statement.

00:16:42.280 They live in a parallel society where every associate in public records also has a foreign

00:17:41.740 the name bean ferguson yeah ban fergie ferguson like like how many how do you misspell your name
00:17:51.300 multiple times in a document and backwards sometimes it was ben ferguson it was ferguson

00:18:11.360 their birthdays are unknown. The business model is simple. A 40-year-old Somali immigrant gets
00:18:18.180 paid for spending time with, and maybe cooking for, his own 65-year-old mother. The middleman
00:18:25.040 is one of thousands of home health firms that have the NPI number necessary to bill Medicaid.
00:18:31.880 The 40-year-old becomes a, quote, employee of that company, but has no clients other than
00:18:40.100 his mother. There is no way to verify whether he actually provided the, quote, services
00:18:46.160 unless his own mother is willing to testify against him. This poverty program is different
00:18:53.680 from things like food stamps because it has no monetary cap and its extent is decided not by
00:18:59.780 politicians but by any doctor willing to sign a form saying you could use some help around the
00:19:05.400 House. It only takes one doctor who will say yes to churn out enough forms to bankrupt a state.
