00:00:00.000 This is an iHeart Podcast.
00:00:02.600 Guaranteed human.
00:00:05.760 Welcome. It is Verdict with Senator Ted Cruz.
00:00:08.520 Ben Ferguson with you, Senator.
00:00:10.320 Nice to be with you as always.
00:00:12.100 And there is new intel coming out that the Biden administration
00:00:15.460 may be welcoming a whole lot of refugees from Gaza as part of their new plan.
00:00:20.700 Well, that's exactly right.
00:00:21.900 There's breaking news that the Biden White House is considering
00:00:24.380 allowing refugees to come from Gaza,
00:00:26.800 which would be an enormous national security threat.
00:00:30.100 It makes no sense at all.
00:00:31.500 We're going to talk about that and examine what they're talking about.
00:00:34.340 We also now have new data on the cities that the Biden administration
00:00:38.740 is flying illegal immigrants to all over the country.
00:00:42.060 We've got numbers and breakdown.
00:00:43.280 We're going to get into that.
00:00:44.720 And finally, we're going to talk about a new bill that I've introduced.
00:00:47.320 It's a bipartisan bill designed to limit kids' access to social media
00:00:51.860 and in particular to stop young kids from getting on social media
00:00:54.700 and to protect kids from all the negative influences
00:00:57.440 that can be found on social media.
00:00:58.960 We're going to discuss that as well.
00:01:00.900 Yeah, I want to talk to you real quick about what's happening in Israel right now
00:01:05.020 and a way that you can help and have a significant impact.
00:01:09.020 It's been over six months since that first brutal attack by Hamas
00:01:12.600 on our brothers and sisters in Israel.
00:01:15.080 And since then, the attacks on Israel have actually increased
00:01:18.340 with Iran and its proxies launching that massive attack
00:01:21.900 of hundreds of drones and missiles.
00:01:23.520 That is where your help is needed.
00:01:26.380 The International Fellowship of Christians and Jews is on the ground now
00:01:30.440 addressing all the urgent needs.
00:01:32.700 And that's why I'm partnering with IFCJ and I want you to join me
00:01:36.380 because your life-saving donation can help provide security needs
00:01:41.320 like placing actual bomb shelters in communities in Israel that need it the most.
00:01:47.620 When the sirens go off, people have 15 seconds or less to get to safety.
00:01:53.960 IFCJ has helped renovate as well as install nearly 3,000 bomb shelters to date.
00:01:59.960 As Israel and her people live with the harsh reality of terror every day,
00:02:04.880 your support will help address emergency security needs such as food
00:02:09.040 and utility equipment for bomb shelters, flak jackets,
00:02:12.620 and other essentials for the people of Israel.
00:02:15.260 So if you want to help, this is a way to help.
00:02:18.040 And we're asking listeners to get $50 or any amount to help provide life-saving aid.
00:02:23.980 All you have to do is visit supportifcj.org.
00:02:29.800 That's one word, supportifcj.org.
00:02:33.460 Supportifcj.org.
00:02:37.120 Senator, let's talk about this plan.
00:02:39.920 And I'm still trying to get my head around what the play is here politically,
00:02:44.540 except that they're trying to signal to young people that are on these college campuses,
00:02:48.720 hey, we're not in favor of Israel by any means.
00:02:52.540 Stick with us.
00:02:53.440 And then while all that's going on,
00:02:55.700 they signal that we're going to allow a bunch of refugees to come to America.
00:02:58.800 Why?
00:02:59.800 Look, it is absolutely crazy.
00:03:01.960 The White House has put out a story.
00:03:04.560 Here's the CBS headline.
00:03:06.260 Quote,
00:03:06.880 White House considers welcoming some Palestinians from war-torn Gaza as refugees.
00:03:12.460 And what CBS reported is,
00:03:14.360 quote,
00:03:14.540 The Biden administration is considering bringing certain Palestinians to the U.S. as refugees,
00:03:19.040 a move that would offer a permanent safe haven to some of those fleeing war-torn Gaza.
00:03:23.440 According to internal federal government documents obtained by CBS News.
00:03:28.360 In recent weeks, the documents show senior U.S. officials across several federal agencies
00:03:33.400 have discussed the practicality of different options to resettle Palestinians from Gaza
00:03:39.260 who have immediate family members who are American citizens or permanent residents.
00:03:44.200 One of those proposals involves using the decades-old United States Refugee Admissions Program
00:03:50.040 to welcome Palestinians with U.S. ties who have managed to escape Gaza
00:03:54.900 and enter neighboring Egypt, according to the interagency planning documents.
00:03:59.600 Top U.S. officials have also discussed getting additional Palestinians out of Gaza
00:04:03.580 and processing them as refugees if they have American relatives, the documents show.
00:04:08.160 The plan would require coordination with Egypt, which has so far refused to welcome large numbers of people from Gaza.
00:04:15.080 So, understand this.
00:04:17.340 Egypt, which is a direct neighbor of Gaza, is saying,
00:04:22.840 We don't want these refugees here.
00:04:24.300 And by the way, the reason the Egyptians don't want them there is they're afraid of terrorism.
00:04:29.460 They're afraid that there are too many Hamas terrorists that are part of the so-called refugees
00:04:36.120 and they don't want them committing acts of terrorism and violence in Egypt.
00:04:41.820 And yet, the Biden administration is saying,
00:04:44.640 Well, heck, we'd love to have them here.
00:04:47.100 Like, this is a level of insanity in the wake of October 7th,
00:04:53.860 in the wake of this grotesque terror attack that murdered 1,200 Israelis,
00:04:58.860 that murdered Americans, that raped women and little girls.
00:05:02.400 The reaction of the Biden White House is,
00:05:05.260 Well, we need to welcome more of these folks into America.
00:05:08.400 Yeah, and the timing of this is incredibly questionable.
00:05:11.480 You look at what the crackdowns that we're finally seeing on college campuses right now, Senator.
00:05:17.020 We're seeing hundreds that have been arrested, for example, at Columbia,
00:05:20.600 other universities where this is happening as well.
00:05:23.260 And the timing seems to be, in essence, perfect.
00:05:25.760 It's like, hey, we're still with you guys.
00:05:28.180 I know you guys are kind of getting rid of your encampments and you're getting arrested,
00:05:32.000 but just know we really are on your side.
00:05:36.200 Well, it really is remarkable how terrified the so-called mainstream Democrats are
00:05:42.660 of ticking off the radical left in their party.
00:05:46.560 The Democrat Party has a problem right now.
00:05:48.940 It has a hard anti-Semitism problem.
00:05:51.420 There is literally a pro-Hamas wing of the Democrat Party.
00:05:56.520 And we've talked about this before.
00:05:59.720 It's not just the squad.
00:06:01.220 It's not just the radicals.
00:06:03.800 Joe Biden is terrified of them.
00:06:06.160 Chuck Schumer is terrified of them.
00:06:08.120 Nancy Pelosi is terrified of them.
00:06:10.480 And they are really setting the agenda.
00:06:14.440 It's why Joe Biden has so carefully avoided speaking out with any clarity on the topic
00:06:23.220 because he wants the votes of the anti-Israel, the anti-Semitic protesters.
00:06:29.480 He's trying to get support from them.
00:06:32.600 And he and the other Democrats view that as a major portion of today's Democrat Party.
00:06:38.700 What does the oversight look like?
00:06:40.900 And can they go around Congress completely to allow refugees in from Gaza specifically?
00:06:47.080 How many could this be?
00:06:48.980 How big could this program get?
00:06:51.420 Well, we don't know the answers to that right now.
00:06:53.560 I will tell you in the Senate, the chances of there being meaningful oversight is really quite low.
00:07:01.600 The White House gave a statement to CBS on Tuesday night that said the U.S. has, quote,
00:07:10.040 helped more than 1,800 American citizens and their families leave Gaza,
00:07:14.080 many of whom have come to the United States.
00:07:16.440 At President Biden's direction, we have also helped and will continue to help
00:07:19.700 some particularly vulnerable individuals, such as children with serious health problems
00:07:23.900 and children who are receiving treatment for cancer, get out of harm's way
00:07:26.860 and receive care at nearby hospitals in the region.
00:07:30.420 The statement went on to say that the U.S., quote,
00:07:33.200 categorically rejects any actions leading to the forced relocation of Palestinians from Gaza or the West Bank
00:07:38.680 or the redrawing of the borders of Gaza.
00:07:40.920 The best pass forward is to achieve a sustainable ceasefire through a hostage deal
00:07:45.020 that will stabilize the situation and pave the way to a two-state solution.
00:07:49.700 So the White House, remember, these are internal documents from the government
00:07:55.000 where they're discussing plans, hey, how many refugees can we bring from Gaza to America?
00:08:00.180 And you've got U.S. officials going back and forth on different programs they can use to do that.
00:08:05.880 It's not clear who chose to leak those documents or what their motivation was.
00:08:11.980 The motivation could well be what you suggested.
00:08:14.040 It could have been a political decision by the White House to show some love
00:08:18.940 to the pro-Hamas wing of the Democrat Party, and that may well have been part of the motivation.
00:08:25.320 But in terms of oversight, look, the sad thing is in the Senate,
00:08:28.920 as long as Chuck Schumer is the majority leader,
00:08:32.040 he has zero interest on oversight on this question.
00:08:34.940 The Democrats have zero interest on oversight on this question.
00:08:37.940 Remember, just a couple of weeks ago, I forced a vote on the Senate floor to block
00:08:43.220 the Biden administration from giving additional billions of dollars to Iran, to the Ayatollah.
00:08:50.440 And by the way, Iran funds 90 percent of Hamas.
00:08:53.400 So it was a very simple amendment.
00:08:54.920 Stop giving money that goes to Hamas to kill Jews and to kill Americans.
00:08:59.400 And every single Democrat but one voted no.
00:09:06.200 That's where they are.
00:09:07.180 So on bringing people from Gaza who could be terrorists,
00:09:11.300 who could endanger the safety of American citizens here,
00:09:14.860 it does not surprise me that's what this administration is talking about doing,
00:09:19.180 because it's clear that's where their sympathies and their loyalties lie.
00:09:23.640 And the rhetoric is going to be exactly what you described, Senator.
00:09:26.580 They're going to say, look, there's a lot of people that are innocent.
00:09:29.920 You should be compassionate and loving and those that need, you know, for humanitarian reasons.
00:09:35.700 But 72 percent of Palestinians believe, quote,
00:09:39.020 that Hamas's decision to launch the October 7th attack was correct,
00:09:43.080 which goes back to what you were saying a moment ago about other countries in the region saying,
00:09:47.780 we don't want these refugees here because we're afraid about terrorism.
00:09:52.080 Well, 72 percent of Palestinians believe that Hamas's decision to launch the attack
00:09:56.040 was the right decision.
00:09:57.620 Then we have a real concern about who may be coming into this country.
00:10:01.320 Well, that's exactly right.
00:10:02.800 And by the way, the polling you're citing, that's the results of the latest polls
00:10:07.380 by the Palestinian Center for Policy and Survey Research.
00:10:10.980 And it was conducted in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip between November 22nd and December 2nd of 2003.
00:10:18.360 And that period witnessed the October 7th launch.
00:10:22.920 So this was a little bit over a month after October 7th.
00:10:27.880 And I got to tell you, those numbers, 72 percent, the sample size of the poll was 1,231 adults,
00:10:35.940 of whom 750 were interviewed face to face in the West Bank and 481 in the Gaza Strip
00:10:41.800 in 121 randomly selected locations.
00:10:44.440 And so if you look at this, and we also know, in the Gaza Strip,
00:10:50.200 residents were interviewed in 24 shelter locations, of which 20 belonged to UNRWA,
00:10:54.780 the UN agency that Hamas terrorists worked for, and four to governmental institutions.
00:11:01.740 A total of 250 interviews were covered in these shelters.
00:11:04.500 Another 21 were conducted in the homes of relatives and friends of displaced people from the north.
00:11:09.460 And the numbers, findings indicate that a majority of respondents believe that Hamas' decision
00:11:16.420 to carry out the offensive is correct, and believe that the attack came in response to,
00:11:22.220 quote, settler attacks on the Al-Asqa mosque and West Bank residents,
00:11:26.900 and for the release of Palestinian prisoners.
00:11:28.860 Those numbers, and it goes on to say, the poll says, it is worth noting that there are significant
00:11:35.180 differences between the attitudes of the residents of the West Bank compared to the Gaza Strip
00:11:38.940 in terms of the correctness of Hamas' decisions, as the attitude of Gazans tend to show a greater
00:11:45.140 degree of skepticism of that decision.
00:11:47.140 I'll tell you, the videos I've watched of October 7th, when Hamas terrorists are coming back to Gaza,
00:11:52.980 and they're coming back to Gaza, and they're bringing Israeli hostages, they're bringing women,
00:11:58.560 they're bringing children that are beaten, that are bleeding, some of them have gunshot wounds,
00:12:02.540 some of them have, you know, very, very serious injuries.
00:12:06.300 They're dragging them out of the truck, into the truck.
00:12:10.920 Some of them have injuries that are consistent with violent, forcible rape.
00:12:17.620 They're bleeding from where they would, being the victims of those kinds of attacks.
00:12:26.780 And the reactions, Ben, of Palestinians in Gaza is you see hundreds of them cheering in celebration,
00:12:35.880 as they are watching these hostages dragged out, clearly suffering serious abuse.
00:12:42.260 And we're not talking just the Hamas terrorists.
00:12:44.880 We're talking just in the town square, when they come back, the reaction is cheering.
00:12:51.580 Who the hell in their right mind would say, you know what we really need?
00:12:56.100 Is the people committing these atrocities, the people cheering on these atrocities?
00:13:00.300 We need them here in America.
00:13:01.820 That sounds like a great idea.
00:13:04.140 Yeah, and then the other question I have for you, final question on this is,
00:13:08.100 we've seen this administration be incredibly deceptive towards the American people, towards the taxpayers.
00:13:13.340 We've seen them fly flights, which we're going to talk about in a minute, into random cities in America,
00:13:19.400 without giving notice to those cities.
00:13:22.560 I'm assuming if they want to start importing people from Gaza,
00:13:25.640 they would use the same exact tactics that they've been using all over the country in the middle of the night.
00:13:31.160 I think that is absolutely right.
00:13:33.520 They would do it surreptitiously.
00:13:35.020 They would hide it.
00:13:35.860 That's how they've handled this border invasion.
00:13:38.380 They lie about it.
00:13:39.660 Alejandro Mayorkas still says our southern border is secure.
00:13:42.280 They're perfectly happy to lie about it.
00:13:44.700 And listen, from day one, the Biden administration has undermined Israel and has sent money to people who hate us and people who want to kill us.
00:13:54.220 They've sent billions of dollars to Iran.
00:13:56.260 They've sent hundreds of millions of dollars to Gaza that in turn has almost certainly flowed to Hamas.
00:14:04.500 And they want to continue doing that.
00:14:07.120 That is their commitment.
00:14:09.000 And so I think this threat is real.
00:14:11.760 These people are zealots.
00:14:13.100 These are also people who look at the viciously anti-Semitic protests at Columbia and Yale and NYU and UCLA and say,
00:14:21.500 you know what, we're with those folks and we need more people like them.
00:14:25.340 And it's really I think this is this is really revealing a divide that is frightening and scary.
00:14:35.160 And it's not a divide that normal people in their normal lives encounter.
00:14:40.480 It is the radicals who are more and more taking over the Democrat Party.
00:14:45.280 And Ben, I want to dig a little bit more into these poll results because they're deeply concerning.
00:14:49.940 So the results of the poll, as you noted, 72 percent of the public believe that Hamas's decision to launch the October 7th attack was correct.
00:14:59.500 A majority, 53 percent, believe that Israel's war objective is to destroy the Gaza Strip and to kill or expel its residents.
00:15:07.720 And 42 percent believe it is to take revenge on Hamas and the resistance and to destroy them.
00:15:12.380 A majority believes Israel will fail to achieve these goals.
00:15:17.560 Eighty five percent have not seen any videos showing atrocities committed by Hamas against Israeli citizens on October 7th.
00:15:25.340 And over only seven percent say Hamas committed atrocities against Israeli civilians.
00:15:31.920 Let me repeat that because that is horrifying.
00:15:35.460 They did a poll of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip in the West Bank.
00:15:40.320 And only seven percent will admit that Hamas committed atrocities against Israeli civilians.
00:15:47.420 So so so they're truthers who are denying October 7th even happen.
00:15:52.800 Seventy percent, seven zero percent of West Bankers and half of Gazans expect Hamas to emerge victorious.
00:16:01.300 That is deeply frightening.
00:16:06.020 And and the Biden administration is talking about wanting to bring to America a group of people of whom 93 percent of them deny that Hamas committed atrocities against civilians, which is indisputable.
00:16:20.460 They filmed it and put out the videos.
00:16:22.500 They're very proud of it.
00:16:23.760 And yet this population is is so radicalized that they don't believe it's true.
00:16:30.640 Yeah.
00:16:31.200 Great point there.
00:16:32.280 Want to talk to you real quick about your morning routine.
00:16:35.040 If you are like me, you start your morning off with coffee.
00:16:37.980 Question is, how good is your coffee?
00:16:39.940 And is your coffee woke?
00:16:42.000 There's a lot of woke coffee companies out there.
00:16:44.480 And if you're like me, I say no more wokeness.
00:16:46.920 I'm done with it.
00:16:47.620 I'm not giving my money to companies that hate my values and fight against me.
00:16:52.060 Well, blackout coffee is the coffee I'm drinking now every morning.
00:16:55.540 I'm on the radio 7 a.m.
00:16:56.980 I've got to be up.
00:16:58.000 I've got to be awake.
00:16:58.860 I've got to be alert.
00:16:59.800 And I'm not going to start my day off with an average or bad cup of coffee.
00:17:03.500 I want a premium cup of coffee.
00:17:05.460 And that's what I get every single morning from blackout coffee.
00:17:09.300 I want you to try blackout coffee, not just because they're 100 percent committed to conservative values from the sourcing of the beans to the roasting process.

00:17:25.480 And they accept no compromise, which is the part I really love on taste and or quality.
00:17:30.820 I want you to try it.
00:17:32.260 And I'm going to save you 20 percent off your first order right now.

00:18:17.720 Be awake, not woke.
00:18:18.980 That's blackout coffee dot com slash verdict.
00:18:21.980 Senator, I want to pivot to something we just mentioned a moment ago.
00:18:25.160 And that was we there's real consensus in the polling data that Biden's border policy and specifically when it comes to safety and national security issues is disastrous.
00:18:36.900 But we're learning now more about internal Department of Homeland Security data revealing the 45 plus U.S. cities that hundreds of thousands of migrants have flown into via the Biden administration's mass parole program that they refuse to disclose the public where all of these illegal immigrants are being dropped off.
00:19:00.980 And you apparently have no right to know who they are or even where they're coming from.
00:19:05.420 Well, that's exactly right, Ben.
00:19:07.100 And we did a pod on this topic when when the story first broke about the Biden administration's program that wasn't just dealing with illegal immigrants who cross the border and stream across our southern border, but actually was arranging flights to come in for illegal immigrants to come into cities all across the country.
00:19:24.340 And at the time, the Biden administration's position was we're not going to tell you where they're coming.
00:19:29.120 We can't tell you because it's a national security risk.
00:19:32.000 And so they refuse to tell us, well, we now have data from DHS that that covers an eight month period.
00:19:39.820 So it is from January through August of 2023.
00:19:43.700 And there are about 200,000 illegal immigrants who flew into the U.S. using the program.
00:19:49.040 And and and we we have the breakdown.
00:19:51.520 Let me give you the top 15 cities and how many came.
00:19:53.920 The number one city the Biden administration flew people illegal immigrants into was Miami, Florida.
00:19:58.740 Ninety one thousand eight hundred and twenty one.
00:20:02.080 The number two city Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
00:20:06.100 Sixty thousand four hundred and sixty one.
00:20:09.320 The number three city, New York City.
00:20:11.620 Fourteen thousand eight hundred and twenty seven.
00:20:13.560 Number four.
00:20:14.620 You're in my hometown, Houston, Texas.
00:20:17.080 Seven thousand nine hundred and twenty three.
00:20:18.920 Number five.
00:20:19.620 Orlando, Florida.
00:20:21.100 Six thousand and forty three.
00:20:22.620 Number six.
00:20:23.580 Los Angeles, California.
00:20:25.340 Three thousand two hundred and seventy one.
00:20:27.140 Number seven.
00:20:27.600 And Tampa, Florida.
00:20:29.080 Three thousand two hundred and thirty seven.
00:20:31.100 Number eight.
00:20:31.760 Dallas, Texas.
00:20:32.740 Two thousand two hundred and fifty six.
00:20:34.880 Number nine.
00:20:35.660 San Francisco, California.
00:20:37.020 Two thousand and fifty two.
00:20:38.320 Number ten.
00:20:38.920 Atlanta, Georgia.
00:20:40.340 One thousand seven hundred and ninety six.
00:20:42.200 Number eleven.
00:20:42.960 New York, Newark, New Jersey.
00:20:44.720 One thousand four hundred and ninety eight.
00:20:46.380 Number twelve.
00:20:47.600 Washington, D.C.
00:20:48.580 One thousand four hundred and seventy two.
00:20:50.320 Number thirteen.
00:20:51.680 Chicago, Illinois.
00:20:52.760 Four hundred and ninety seven.
00:20:53.900 Number fourteen.
00:20:55.260 Las Vegas, Nevada.
00:20:56.420 Four hundred and eighty three.
00:20:57.300 A number fifteen.
00:20:58.400 Rounding out the top fifteen.
00:21:00.400 Austin, Texas with one hundred and seventy one.
00:21:04.140 And so those are now what's striking.
00:21:06.800 They're sending the vast majority of the illegal immigrants in this program to Florida and Texas.
00:21:12.380 Florida is getting hammered.
00:21:14.200 Just Miami and Fort Lauderdale have over one hundred and fifty thousand that that are going there.
00:21:19.480 And actually, blue cities and blue states get relatively few.
00:21:22.940 So they're really hammering Florida and Texas.
00:21:27.040 That's one obvious conclusion of this.
00:21:31.420 A second conclusion.
00:21:34.040 Look, the White House is trying to spin.
00:21:37.380 Well, no, no, no.
00:21:37.820 These are not illegal immigrants because we're we're letting them in using legal authorities.
00:21:41.780 Well, I can tell you that that that in litigation.
00:21:44.840 Here's what DHS wrote in response to a subpoena quote.
00:21:49.580 DHS said all individuals paroled into the United States are by definition inadmissible, including those paroled under the CHNV processes, which is what this this program is.
00:22:01.420 And to give you a sense of the numbers on this program, CBP says at least four hundred and four thousand illegal immigrants have flown to the U.S. using this program and the breakdown we know of one hundred and fifty four thousand Haitians, ninety five thousand Venezuelans, eighty four thousand Cubans and sixty nine thousand Nicaraguans.
00:22:27.760 Canadian women are looking for more, more out of themselves, their businesses, their elected leaders and the world around them.
00:22:34.720 And that's why we're thrilled to introduce the Honest Talk podcast.
00:22:38.440 I'm Jennifer Stewart and I'm Catherine Clark.
00:22:40.860 And in this podcast, we interview Canada's most inspiring women, entrepreneurs, artists, athletes, politicians and newsmakers, all at different stages of their journey.
00:22:50.340 So if you're looking to connect, then we hope you'll join us.
00:22:53.340 Listen to the Honest Talk podcast on iHeart Radio or wherever you listen to your podcasts.
00:22:57.760 This is, again, the reason why they were trying to hide this.
00:23:03.620 It's also the reason why they have not been informing state.
00:23:07.720 We're talking about governors or local municipalities of who they're bringing in, because they knew there would probably be a lot of people that would say, no, we don't want to deal with this.
00:23:17.080 No, please don't drop them off here.
00:23:18.740 Well, that's right.
00:23:21.060 And it's interesting also.
00:23:22.600 So the number three city was New York City.
00:23:24.500 And then the number again was 14,827.
00:23:27.320 So it was a lot less than went to Miami or Fort Lauderdale.
00:23:29.580 What's interesting, though, is we know that the mayor of New York, a liberal Democrat who has declared it a crisis, said it's an emergency, said illegal immigration is destroying New York City.
00:23:42.000 He has blamed what he called that madman from Texas.
00:23:45.820 And as we've talked about, I'm actually disappointed that he's talking about Greg Abbott and not me.
00:23:52.500 I wonder what I have to do to qualify for that insult from the mayor of New York City.
00:23:57.660 But Texas has sent to New York City roughly 10,000 illegal immigrants.
00:24:02.880 So if he's blaming that madman, well, Joe Biden has sent 14,827.
00:24:09.200 And that's just using this one program that doesn't measure the other thousands that Biden has sent that crossed the border illegally on the southern border and that Biden put on a bus or a plane.
00:24:19.120 But yet the Democrat mayor of New York can't actually blame the person responsible, which is Biden.
00:24:24.640 And for that matter, Chuck Schumer and every other Democrat in Congress.
00:24:27.660 Will this change and move the needle at all, do you think?
00:24:30.780 Because we know what Mayor Adams has now been saying and we know about even in places like Colorado, where they're having to get rid of people in law enforcement, for goodness sakes, and letting people go in New York to cover for the cost that it is to take care of all of these illegal immigrants.
00:24:46.780 At least seeing the disclosures and the number of people involved, could this move the needle a little bit?
00:24:53.620 Well, ask yourself this.
00:24:54.880 How many of the home newspapers where this data were reported actually covered it?
00:25:00.980 How many of them covered it on the front page?
00:25:02.600 How many of them had a headline?
00:25:04.320 I feel confident that the New York Times and New York City does not have a headline.
00:25:09.040 Biden administration flew 14,827 illegal immigrants to New York City.
00:25:14.360 I would be surprised if you can read it anywhere in the New York Times.
00:25:19.360 And if you look at newspaper by newspaper, I certainly haven't read it in the Chronicle in Houston.
00:25:24.500 Houston was number four.
00:25:25.960 It may have been covered in the Chronicle.
00:25:27.420 I haven't searched it.
00:25:28.460 But you know the media doesn't want to cover these numbers.
00:25:32.500 You know that Democrats don't want to admit these numbers.
00:25:35.180 And so their plan is going to be the same as their plan consistently has been, which is ignore the crisis, pretend it's not happened, count on the silence and complicity of the media to cover this up.
00:25:45.920 Because I got to say, if you live in any of those 15 cities, you ought to be pissed off.
00:25:52.240 And by the way, you know, I gave the numbers of the biggest group that has been flown in are Haitians.
00:25:58.400 And it was at least 154,000 Haitians.
00:26:01.420 We've talked about one of those Haitians was flown to Boston, Massachusetts, and he was just recently arrested for raping a 15-year-old girl who was severely mentally handicapped.
00:26:13.780 And I got to say, if you're the parents of that girl and the Biden administration literally flew the rapist from Haiti to Boston and then released him where he attacked your daughter, I can't imagine the frustration at the utter insanity of that policy.
00:26:35.280 A couple of years ago, I hit 40.
00:26:38.120 And my oh my is after 40 different than before 40.
00:26:42.120 The problem is men's testosterone levels are off a cliff historically.
00:26:46.500 And in fact, they're at an all-time low.
00:26:48.380 And it isn't just that it's at an all-time low.
00:26:52.480 It's that many people are like, all right, I don't want to give up having a blast by playing sports.
00:26:58.060 I don't want to feel tired and fatigued every day at around 10, 30, or 11.

00:28:27.460 Limited time offer.
00:28:28.620 Finally, Senator, I want to get into something else.
00:28:30.880 It's a very important piece of legislation that you're working on.
00:28:35.240 And I have actually seen a little bit of this be talked about on social.
00:28:39.840 There are some people that don't actually think they understand the intent of what we're trying to accomplish
00:28:45.020 when it comes to protecting kids on social media.
00:28:48.220 So explain why this legislation is something that parents really need to know about.
00:28:53.920 Well, this is legislation I introduced this week.
00:28:56.860 And it's bipartisan legislation.
00:28:58.640 I teamed up with Brian Schatz, who's a Democrat from Hawaii.
00:29:01.820 And the bill is called the Kids Off Social Media Act.
00:29:04.840 And it does several things.
00:29:06.420 Number one, it prohibits children under 13 from accessing social media.
00:29:12.600 So kids, there's no reason for an 8 or 9-year-old to be on TikTok or to be on social media.
00:29:17.580 And there are a lot of harmful things.
00:29:20.280 I'll tell you, listen, you and I are both parents.
00:29:23.020 And any parent who is dealing with, I'm dealing with teenagers.
00:29:26.360 Your kids are not teenagers yet.
00:29:27.900 But if you blink, they will be.
00:29:31.380 Any parent dealing with teenagers or adolescents,
00:29:35.060 how to deal with phones and social media is one of the greatest challenges
00:29:39.560 because phones are really a portal for kids to access all sorts of harmful content.
00:29:46.440 And so this bill says if you're under 13, you can't be on social media.
00:29:50.340 And then it says for kids younger than 17,
00:29:53.780 big tech companies are prohibited from using algorithmic boosting to send messages to them.
00:30:00.800 So we know right now, and there's been a lot of testimony in the Senate,
00:30:03.920 that big tech companies send messages to our kids, to our teenagers, that are really harmful.
00:30:09.680 They send messages that undermine their body image.
00:30:12.580 They send messages that encourage self-harm.
00:30:15.500 They send messaging that increases suicidal ideation.
00:30:19.500 They send messaging that increases their feelings of depression and anxiety.
00:30:26.320 They send messages encouraging dangerous behavior.
00:30:29.600 They send messaging pushing radical beliefs, things like pro-Hamas beliefs.
00:30:34.460 And so this bill says if you're under 17, big tech cannot target using algorithmic boosting
00:30:41.540 to send messages that are addicting and that are harmful.
00:30:46.140 And then the bill also includes a separate bill that I had introduced previously,
00:30:51.260 and I introduced it with John Fetterman.
00:30:52.880 It was also bipartisan.
00:30:55.060 And my separate bill was called the Eyes on the Board bill.
00:30:57.860 And the Eyes on the Board bill, which is now part of this bill,
00:31:01.700 says that any school that receives federal funds has to block social media on campus.
00:31:09.640 And the basic idea is while our kids are in school, they ought to be listening to teachers.
00:31:13.860 They ought to be doing schoolwork.
00:31:15.140 They don't need to be posting on Instagram while they're in school.
00:31:18.560 For older kids, they can do that when they get home.
00:31:22.020 But at school, they ought to be focused on the schoolwork.
00:31:25.200 Yeah, they should be.
00:31:26.020 And this is legislation that you mentioned is bipartisan here.
00:31:29.400 What does it look like, the chances of this moving forward, since it is a bipartisan piece of legislation?
00:31:35.400 So I'm actually quite optimistic.
00:31:37.200 We are likely to have a markup in the Senate Commerce Committee next week.
00:31:42.360 I'm the ranking member, the senior Republican on the Commerce Committee.
00:31:45.760 And I think it is very likely to pass the Commerce Committee with overwhelming bipartisan support.
00:31:51.640 I think there's a good chance it'll pass unanimously.
00:31:54.420 And I think there is a good prospect of this bill being passed into law.
00:31:58.480 There are two other bills called COSA and COPPA that are both dealing with things like online predators targeting kids.
00:32:04.520 And I think there's a real possibility of all three of these bills being put together and brought to the Senate floor.
00:32:11.360 And I'm hopeful we can pass all three of them.
00:32:13.500 We'll keep you updated on it.
00:32:14.640 It's so important, especially preventing children under 13 from having access to these social media sites.
00:32:20.540 And also, as you mentioned, programming those algorithms for teens younger than 17.
00:32:25.480 This is a really important job well done.
00:32:28.020 And we'll keep everybody updated on how this looks moving forward.
00:32:32.280 Well, that's right.
00:32:32.980 And, look, I'll say something also as a parent.
00:32:35.440 I mean, these are hard issues.
00:32:37.080 And one of the things – I talk to a lot of parents.
00:32:39.100 I don't know a parent who disagrees on this issue.
00:32:41.700 And that's true right or left.
00:32:43.580 That's true regardless of politics.
00:32:45.860 We're all worried about our kids.
00:32:47.340 I mean, it's really – it's hard to be a teenager right now.
00:32:50.060 The pressures on our kids.
00:32:51.940 You and I didn't have these kind of pressures when we were teenagers.
00:32:54.140 It's really tough what is all of the influences that are pounding our kids.
00:33:00.740 And it's hard to be a parent right now.
00:33:02.140 And one of the challenges – because some people say, well, parents ought to just restrict this.
00:33:06.360 Look, it is a hard dynamic when your kid – when every student in their class is on the social media platform.
00:33:14.480 When that's how the kids communicate, when that's how they schedule playdates, when that's how they interact.
00:33:20.340 No parent wants to socially ostracize their kids.
00:33:24.660 And so a lot of parents will talk to each other and say, I wish they were all off of it.
00:33:28.900 But I'm not willing to have my kid the only one that's not able to interact with their peers and have a social life.
00:33:34.960 And that's one of the reasons why – you know, it's interesting in the Senate, the folks that are coming together and supporting this bill,
00:33:40.780 so myself and Brian Schatz and we've also got Katie Britt, we're all about the same age.
00:33:47.600 We're all in our 40s or 50s.
00:33:49.080 We all have kids the same age.
00:33:50.460 I have to say, the senators that are in their 70s or 80s, they don't quite get this issue in the same way that if you're a parent, you're dealing with it.
00:33:59.300 And so I'm hopeful that we'll see some real bipartisan agreement that we ought to enhance the tools parents have to keep their kids safe.
00:34:08.640 Yeah, great point.
00:34:09.540 We're going to keep you updated on this legislation as it moves forward.
