00:04:42.140It has been a theme the last several elections,
00:04:44.560and now we have a very big controversy out of Alaska.
00:04:49.300Now, I want you to understand exactly what is being alleged
00:04:51.900because this story raises some extraordinary questions
00:04:54.920about how far political operatives on the left
00:04:57.820are willing to go to alter or change an American election.
00:05:02.880Now, we're less than a week away from Election Day.
00:05:05.660Control of the United States Senate is absolutely on the line.
00:05:09.200You've heard President Donald Trump talk about that everywhere he's been doing a rally.
00:05:13.180But now an explosive investigation done by the New York Times has uncovered evidence of what is being described as a coordinated effort involving Democratic political operatives to deliberately manipulate the field of candidates in the Alaska Senate race.
00:05:33.060And here's the part that sounds almost unbelievable.
00:05:36.980The plan allegedly involved recruiting another man named Dan Sullivan to run against the Republican senator named Dan Sullivan.
00:06:18.180Now, the objective was to create confusion among voters on Election Day and potentially take votes away from the Republican incumbent senator from Alaska.
00:06:28.420Now, if you think about the implications of that, it's shocking.
00:06:31.880The Democratic Party, instead of simply persuading voters that your candidate has better ideas,
00:06:38.660their strategy was to introduce another candidate whose name would directly match the Republican incumbent
00:06:45.480and then cause you to make a mistake and vote for the wrong person with the same name of Dan Sullivan.
00:06:54.280Now, this came to a head earlier this week on Sunday on Save the Union
00:07:01.440when Dana Bash was interviewing the Attorney General Todd Blanche.
00:07:05.060And I want you to hear what Todd Blanche had to say to CNN
00:07:07.900as he was calling them out on their reporting and their hypocrisy on this story
00:07:13.200as the DOJ sues to block Alaska's Senate results if the Republican loses.
00:07:19.640...state Supreme Court, and they ruled four months ago on this matter.
00:07:23.360They said that Daniel J. Sullivan Jr. could remain on the ballot.
00:07:28.240Well, conveniently, you put up the Constitution on your screen, but you highlighted only the first clause.
00:07:33.580Why don't you show the next clause to your viewers, which says that Congress is allowed to pass laws to make sure that that happens?
00:07:57.420And that's the law that we're relying on when we when we filed suit earlier this week.
00:08:01.960So this is about taking away the rights of a well, that's not what that's what is so-called mean.
00:08:07.780That's not what the law is called. The law is a voter registration act.
00:08:10.400I mean, so go ahead. Go ahead. No, you go.
00:08:12.700No, but what we're doing, what we're doing, the Alaska Supreme Court has said that under Alaskan law, this second Sullivan can can run.
00:08:21.280That's because, unlike many states, Alaska doesn't have a statute or a law that says that the same name can't run.
00:08:27.920But make no mistake about it, the head of Alaskan elections has made very clear that this candidate's only purpose is to confuse voters.
00:08:35.480And so what do you think the Department of Justice should do when there's a federal system in place,
00:08:41.380there's laws in place that allow us to step in if constitutional rights and statutory rights are potentially being violated in the election process?
00:08:49.020We don't do it very often, but can you name a single time in our history where this has happened at a Senate race?
00:08:55.280No, it's happened in local races before.
00:08:57.420It's happened in local races before, not in Senate races like this.
00:09:02.560So, again, you go back to the strategy here.
00:09:05.460The Democratic Party is not saying we have better ideas.
00:09:07.720They're saying we just want to steal votes by introducing another candidate whose name would cause voters to make a mistake on their ballot.
00:09:15.440And then that brings us to the second part of this story.
00:09:19.780In this shocking report that has come out from the New York Times,
00:09:24.020they have now explained exactly how this happened,
00:09:29.120where you have a Dan Sullivan and a Daniel J. Sullivan on the ballot.
00:09:35.040And how we got to this point, we now know it was the Democratic operatives
00:09:38.580and the candidate knew about it and apparently was lying about it.
