00:00:00.000 This is an iHeart Podcast.
00:00:02.660 Guaranteed human.
00:00:04.760 Well, the only thing I totally admired about sleepy Joe Biden is the following.
00:00:08.780 He'd go to a beach, he'd lay down in a cot, barely able to get his feet through the sand.
00:00:13.540 And within minutes, he's sleeping and you have cameras watching him.
00:00:16.360 I could never do that.
00:00:17.460 I would never be able to sleep like that.
00:00:19.480 You're listening to the 47 Morning Update with Ben Ferguson.
00:00:23.240 Good Thursday morning, Ben Ferguson with you.
00:00:25.440 It's nice to have you on the 47 Morning Update.
00:00:27.700 And there's three major stories we're dealing with.
00:00:30.180 First up, Donald Trump to sign a major order shutting down the Department of Education.
00:00:37.100 I'll have the details in just a moment.
00:00:38.920 Also, a major win for American consumers with gas and egg prices coming down quickly.
00:00:45.280 What caused it and will this have an effect on other products?
00:00:48.680 That in a moment.
00:00:49.620 And finally, Donald Trump moves to get rid of, well, major debt issues in this country
00:00:54.660 with the introduction of golden visas.
00:00:56.980 And he explains exactly how to work.
00:00:59.880 It's the 47 Morning Update and it starts right now.
00:01:03.140 Story number one.
00:01:04.280 It is another promise that Donald Trump made to the American people.
00:01:08.040 We're going to get rid of the Department of Education because they're doing a terrible job.
00:01:13.060 And they're not actually educating our kids.
00:01:15.460 In fact, we are the lowest ranking in many categories of industrialized nations.
00:01:20.020 And that is why Donald Trump today is going to sign an order to shut down the Department
00:01:25.940 of Education.
00:01:27.320 Now, to be clear, as the left is already fear-mongering over this, this doesn't mean that any child
00:01:32.880 in a public school is not going to be able to go to a school.
00:01:36.320 He's made it clear it is time to hand this responsibility back over to the states so the states can do what is
00:01:43.020 right for the students in their state.
00:01:45.740 The president also said that many of the people that are working at the Department of Education,
00:01:51.160 well, they're not even showing up for work or doing their job at all.
00:01:54.700 Take a listen.
00:01:55.760 The Department of Education, maybe more so than any other place, has a lot of people that
00:02:02.600 can be cut.
00:02:03.980 They're number one, not showing up to work.
00:02:05.780 Number two, they're not doing a good job.
00:02:07.460 And if you take a look at our education process, and if you look at the charts, because they
00:02:14.480 have numerous charts where they do the top 40, we're at number 37, 38, 39, and 40.
00:02:21.340 And recently they hit, during Biden's last few days, they hit last.
00:02:25.880 So they were number 40, and yet we're number one in cost per pupil.
00:02:31.020 So it's pretty bad.
00:02:31.960 But we have a dream.
00:02:34.140 And you know what the dream is?
00:02:35.120 We're going to move the Department of Education, we're going to move education into the states
00:02:39.700 so that the states, instead of bureaucrats working in Washington, so that the states can
00:02:44.900 run education.
00:02:45.980 And you have Norway, you have Denmark, you have Sweden, you have various, Finland, you have
00:02:52.360 various countries that do very well.
00:02:53.980 But you also have China that does very well in education, which is a pretty big tribute 0.79
00:02:58.280 to China, I must say.
00:03:00.180 1.4 billion, and they're in the top 10.
00:03:03.740 And it's pretty amazing.
00:03:05.840 So we can't blame size anymore.
00:03:07.940 You know, normally you'd blame size.
00:03:09.600 It's too big.
00:03:10.240 How can you do it?
00:03:11.300 But China does it.
00:03:12.240 So we think when you move it back to Iowa and Indiana and all the states that run so
00:03:19.740 well, there's so many, I could name 30, maybe almost 40, those will be as good as Denmark,
00:03:27.080 those will be as good as Norway, and they'll be as good as any of these, I believe they'll
00:03:31.740 be as good as any.
00:03:32.680 Now, then you're going to have 10 that won't be so great.
00:03:35.640 You're going to have five that will not be good at all, but we'll work with them and
00:03:39.460 we'll get them to be good.
00:03:40.300 But what we want to do is always school choice, but we're going to do school choice and we're
00:03:45.260 doing it, but we want education to be moved back where the states run education, where 0.88
00:03:51.440 the parents of the children will be running education, where governors that are doing a
00:03:56.740 very good job will be running education, not run.
00:04:00.480 I drive through the city and I see like so many buildings, Department of Education, Department
00:04:06.640 of Big Buildings, and by the way, they're empty.
00:04:09.400 Nobody shows up to work.
00:04:10.940 Nobody shows up to work.
00:04:12.540 This is why the president's saying it is time to overhaul the system and save Americans
00:04:18.160 a ton of money and give it back to the states where they can run the system better and have
00:04:23.500 better test scores and test results.
00:04:25.820 Now, you also heard the president talk about school choice.
00:04:28.960 It is something that he is a huge advocate for.
00:04:32.500 Now, the order, I'm being told, from the White House directs the education secretary, Linda
00:04:37.780 McMahon, to, quote, take all necessary steps to facilitate the closure of the Department
00:04:43.400 of Education and return education authority to the states while continuing to ensure the
00:04:49.740 effective and uninterrupted delivery of services, programs, and benefits on which Americans rely.
00:04:56.680 It also mandates that any program or activities receiving remaining Department of Education funds should not advance
00:05:05.900 DEI or gender ideology.
00:05:09.320 The president making it clear this is about educating our kids.
00:05:14.080 Now, get ready to watch.
00:05:15.840 Many states move like never before to advocate for school choice.
00:05:20.560 And if you're in favor of school choice, now is the time to go to work on your elected officials in your state,
00:05:27.380 because this could totally transform education for countless kids all over America.
00:05:34.680 Now, story number two.
00:05:35.920 Donald Trump promised when he was elected that he was going to do everything he could to bring prices
00:05:40.780 that had gotten out of control back down for American consumers, for American families.
00:05:46.120 Two of the big things that American families need is gas for their cars and eggs to feed their family. 1.00
00:05:53.520 Well, we now have some very big news.
00:05:56.800 The average wholesale price per dozen eggs has dropped to $3.10.
00:06:02.760 How significant is that?
00:06:04.600 It is down 47% from $6.55 per dozen from January the 21st of this year.
00:06:14.520 The White House has now stated the White House on March the 17th announced this drop in egg and gasoline prices,
00:06:22.120 calling it a win for not only the Trump administration's economic agenda,
00:06:26.440 but for the American people that have been hurting for so long.
00:06:30.900 Now, egg prices had soared in recent months,
00:06:33.100 reaching an average high of $4.95 per dozen in January.
00:06:38.200 That according to the Department of Labor.
00:06:40.080 And then from January of 2024 to January 2025, egg prices increased by 54%.
00:06:47.540 Now, my primary reason for the skyrocketing prices is the avian influenza, avian flu,
00:06:53.920 which has led to the culling of tens of millions of egg-laying hens in recent months.
00:07:00.040 This is something that was actually talked about by the USDA Secretary Rollins in a recent interview,
00:07:06.480 but saying that it was time for someone to take charge since the Biden administration refused to do it.
00:07:13.320 A long way to go.
00:07:14.740 Listen, combating the avian bird flu is not something that we can do overnight.
00:07:19.620 It is a long-term effort.
00:07:21.640 But the Biden administration, this was a major problem that they had two years ago.
00:07:27.000 They talked about it.
00:07:28.340 They wrote some plans about it.
00:07:29.620 And then nothing ever happened.
00:07:31.920 So I think that it's really important to know, and for your viewers, that we are on it.
00:07:36.220 We have a major plan we've rolled out.
00:07:37.920 As you mentioned, it's got five different points.
00:07:39.980 But the really piece of, at least right now today, good news,
00:07:43.240 is that the price of eggs seem to be coming down.
00:07:45.540 And $1.85 per carton is not insignificant, but we've got a long way to go.
00:07:49.720 Now, the U.S. Department of Agriculture said last month
00:07:52.480 that more than 23 million birds were culled in January to contain the virus.
00:07:56.420 And that followed more than $18 million in December of 2024 that were put down as well.
00:08:03.580 Several weeks ago, the USDA also warned that egg prices could jump by more than 40% this year.
00:08:09.420 But as you just heard there from the Agricultural Secretary,
00:08:12.760 nothing is going to stand in the way of doing everything they can for the prices to continue to come down.
00:08:19.300 So let's move to the other big issue.
00:08:22.060 And that is dealing with the nationwide average for gas.
00:08:25.160 And that has declined for four straight weeks and down 42 cents from one year ago.
00:08:30.880 The White House pointed to data showing that the average for a gallon of gas is now under $3.
00:08:36.760 At $2.99 or less at more than two-thirds of all gas stations.
00:08:42.000 The Trump administration has faced some blowback in recent days over its economic policies.
00:08:47.860 The left continues to attack, particularly their tariffs,
00:08:51.040 and the declines in the Dow Jones Industrial Average and NASDAQ.
00:08:55.160 But the White House saying we are staying the course understanding that there is going to be tough days
00:09:00.980 for America to have a major recorrect on pricing.
00:09:04.880 And tariffs are going to help us get that done.
00:09:07.320 When it comes to the issue of gasoline, the president is saying drill, baby, drill.
00:09:12.800 Making it clear that we're not going to be held hostage by the Middle East or any other nation. 0.54
00:09:17.680 That America has more than enough resources to take care of itself and to lower prices for all Americans.
00:09:24.680 Yet again, another promise from the president that egg prices would come down
00:09:29.100 and the gasoline prices will come down, paying off in the first two months in office.
00:09:35.100 And here is story number three.
00:09:36.560 One of the core issues the president of the United States of America said he believes is his job now
00:09:41.500 is to cut government waste, fraud, and abuse, and to deal with our out-of-control federal deficit,
00:09:47.820 which is in the trillions of dollars.
00:09:50.200 Donald Trump is also looking at ways to bring more money into the country.
00:09:54.780 And one way he says we can do it is by having a $5 million payment to our government for a golden visa.
00:10:03.540 He believes that this is a major opportunity for America to pay down our debt.
00:10:10.360 Now, he was talking with Laura Ingram on Fox News Channel about these visas,
00:10:15.040 and this is what he wanted the American people to know.
00:10:18.000 The golden visa, which you also, you're obviously backing,
00:10:22.140 probably is going to have to go through Congress.
00:10:23.860 We'll see if they actually do that.
00:10:25.280 But $5 million investment from a foreigner coming into the United States.
00:10:30.000 Why should our citizenship be purchased for any amount of money,
00:10:35.460 especially given the fact that you're America first,
00:10:38.500 given the types of people who have $5 million to throw down for a visa or for a permanent residency?
00:10:45.380 That's why, because I'm America first.
00:10:48.000 Because at $5 million, you're getting a lot of things, but you're getting $5 million.
00:10:52.020 Let's say we sell a million of them.
00:10:54.700 That's $5 trillion.
00:10:55.600 We are now an unbelievably successful country, paying down tremendous amounts of debt.
00:11:04.240 It's all going to pay down debt.
00:11:05.840 We're going to have very little debt.
00:11:07.200 Separate fund.
00:11:07.700 But if you did, think of it, if you did $5 million.
00:11:11.340 Now, generally, people that can pay $5 million are going to be job producers, okay?
00:11:16.920 They're going to be successful.
00:11:18.020 They're going to produce jobs. 0.99
00:11:19.020 But here's another thing.
00:11:19.920 Apple comes to me.
00:11:21.840 A lot of companies come to me.
00:11:23.080 They say, sir, we just made a deal to hire the number one student at the Wharton School of Finance
00:11:29.340 or at Harvard Business School or anything else, or MIT or Stanford or any of it.
00:11:36.560 But they're going to throw them out of the country the day after graduation.
00:11:40.360 They'll buy these.
00:11:41.400 Why should an American kid become a computer scientist? 0.98
00:11:43.300 And by the way, they're going to call it either the gold card.
00:11:45.300 The problem is, is mini gold cards, well, I will tell you what my people want to call it.
00:11:50.420 It'll drive you crazy.
00:11:51.780 It'll drive the left crazy.
00:11:53.460 They want to call it the Trump card because the Trump card sells much better than the gold card.
00:11:58.920 Everybody has a gold card.
00:11:59.560 So you're not worried about any unsavory people coming in and taking it?
00:12:02.500 Yeah, I'm worried about unsavory, in which case we're going to give them the money back and they get out.
00:12:07.020 They'll be properly vetted.
00:12:08.520 Oh, they're going to be properly vetted.
00:12:09.880 But, you know, when you're talking about a lot of people, I think it's going to be very successful.
00:12:13.420 If somebody's wrong, we actually are very nice because it makes it a lot easier legally.
00:12:20.080 We give them that money back and we send them out.
00:12:22.720 One thing's for sure.
00:12:24.020 The President of the United States of America is looking for new ways to bring actual cash into the United States of America from people overseas.
00:12:32.180 In other words, he's looking at them as customers instead of all the money coming from the American taxpayer.
00:12:38.640 As for the program and the fear mongering, many in the media are doing this.
00:12:42.620 They're saying, what if an unsavory person comes in?
00:12:45.940 You just heard the President make it very clear.
00:12:48.520 We'll kick them out. 0.97
00:12:49.580 Maybe we'll give them a refund and we'll move on.
