00:01:18.040 Senator Josh Hawley has not only launched an investigation to who's funding the L.A. riots,
00:01:23.720 but we're getting breaking news right now that the list has expanded from what happened earlier in the day.
00:01:32.720 Senator Josh Hawley, who chairs the Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on Crime and Counterterrorism,
00:01:37.900 launching this new investigation into who is funding the Los Angeles riots
00:01:42.520 and other riots that are now breaking out around the country.
00:01:46.880 Now, what we knew earlier was this.
00:01:49.620 There was a target, the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights of Los Angeles.
00:01:54.720 It's a non-profit pro-immigration group.
00:01:58.420 The allegation was very clear.
00:02:00.540 They may have provided logistical support and financial resources to individuals involved in the protests
00:02:06.680 and escalated into riots, obviously on purpose.
00:02:10.340 Now, the formal request he sent to this group and the executive director
00:02:14.840 demanded the preservation and the production of financial documents and donor lists,
00:02:20.100 travel and coordination records,
00:02:22.080 and documents related to protest planning from November the 5th of 2024 to the present.
00:02:28.760 Well, here is now what has happened since that first letter.
00:02:32.960 Hawley's office has now come out saying we are launching an investigation to other groups as well,
00:02:38.860 not just the original one named.
00:02:41.660 Who else is being added?
00:02:43.220 Well, the Party for Socialism and Liberation out of San Francisco, California.
00:02:48.980 The letter reads this way.
00:02:50.280 To whom it may concern,
00:02:51.860 I write in my capacity as the chair of the Senate Subcommittee on Crime and Counterterrorism
00:02:56.540 regarding your organization's alleged role in financing and material support,
00:03:02.160 coordinated protests and riots that have engulfed Los Angeles in recent weeks,
00:03:07.480 while peaceful protests is a cornerstone of American democracy.
00:03:11.760 These demonstrations have escalated into lawless mob actions.
00:03:15.840 They have obstructed federal law enforcement,
00:03:18.340 endangered public safety,
00:03:20.080 and disrupted the rule of law.
00:03:21.800 This lawlessness is unacceptable and it must end.
00:03:25.400 He also stated this.
00:03:26.960 Credible reporting now suggests that your organization,
00:03:30.440 the Party for Socialism and Liberation,
00:03:32.660 has provided logistical support and financial resources to individuals
00:03:37.560 that are engaged in these disruptive actions.
00:03:40.900 Let me be clear.
00:03:42.400 Bankrolling civil unrest is not protected speech.
00:03:45.660 It is aiding and abetting criminal conduct.

00:03:48.940 you must immediately cease and desist any further involvement in these organizations
00:03:52.980 in the organization funding or promotion of these unlawful activities.
00:03:59.300 Now, there's a long list of things that Hawley is asking for,
00:04:03.900 including all internal communications,
00:04:06.320 including emails, text messages, chat logs, messaging apps,
00:04:10.840 related to the protests, related to the planning, the coordination, or funding.
00:04:15.300 He is also demanding that all financial documents related to the protests,
00:04:18.980 the demonstrations, or mobilization efforts in L.A.
00:04:21.560 are elsewhere in the country relating to immigration enforcement.
00:04:25.140 He also said if there are any third-party contacts or vendor agreements,
00:04:29.540 including any arrangements with event organizers,
00:04:33.320 transportation providers, security personnel,
00:04:36.940 or communications consultants relating to immigration enforcement,
00:04:41.760 or the Los Angeles protests or similar protests elsewhere.
00:04:45.960 He also asked for grant applications and funding proposals that relate to
00:04:50.260 or reference immigration enforcement,
00:04:52.860 as well as travel and lodging records for individuals or groups supported
00:04:58.600 or reimbursed in connection with protest activities.
00:05:02.280 He also said we must have media or public relations strategies,
00:05:05.760 including your talking points, press releases,
00:05:08.260 and coordination with journalists or influencers related to immigration protests.
00:05:13.280 And finally, the big one yet again, the donor list.
00:05:16.960 Josh Hawley, the chairman of the subcommittee on crime and counterterrorism in the U.S. Senate,
00:05:21.280 said failure to comply will result in additional actions by the subcommittee,
00:05:26.000 including potential referral for criminal investigations.
00:05:29.720 So that letter has now gone out to the party for socialism and liberation.
00:05:35.200 Well, Josh Hawley isn't done there.
00:05:37.480 He has now also sent a letter to Ron Góchez,
00:05:41.140 spokesman for the Union Day del Barrio,
00:05:43.700 demanding the exact same things that they demanded for the party for socialism and liberation,

00:05:54.880 what do you know, when did you know it, and how long have you been funding it

00:09:28.760 One thing that's for sure, Senator Josh Hawley is making it clear that under Donald Trump's
00:09:33.620 leadership and his leadership in the Senate, we're going to find out who's funding, who's
00:09:38.300 organizing, and who's terrorizing the American people with these riots that are expanding
00:09:43.800 all over the country.
00:09:45.280 Now, story number two.
00:09:46.660 President Trump not backing down and protecting L.A. and any other city where these radical
00:09:52.620 extremists are starting these riots.
00:09:55.380 At Fort Bragg, Donald Trump addressed U.S. troops and vowed to liberate Los Angeles, blasting
00:10:01.080 the situation as third world lawlessness and accusing rioters of bearing foreign flags.
00:10:07.920 He also defended the deployment of approximately 4,000 National Guard troops and 700 Marines, citing
00:10:14.400 their role in protecting ICE agents and federal buildings.
00:10:17.740 Now, Trump also called the protesters animals, a foreign enemy, and paid troublemakers, which
00:10:24.700 will have more on that story of where the money's coming from for all of these protests, asserting
00:10:30.940 that somebody's paying them.
00:10:32.620 Now, Trump has framed the unrest as part of a broader threat, describing it as a full-blown
00:10:50.880 assault on peace, on public order, and national sovereignty.
00:10:55.180 He directly challenged California leaders, calling Governor Gavin Newsom, new scum, and saying
00:11:02.160 they are afraid to act.
00:11:04.300 Trump also insists his forceful response demonstrates decisive leadership and exactly what the American

00:11:11.820 Well, the president was also at the Kennedy Center, walking the red carpet with his wife,
00:11:18.340 the First Lady, and he was asked about some of these decisions.
