00:03:48.200We're less than 48 hours away from the big midterm convention.
00:03:52.860Now, this has never been done before by either party.
00:03:55.840President Donald Trump made it clear that he believed we needed a midterm convention to talk to the American people
00:04:01.880and to explain to them why life is better off now with Trump's policies, America First policies,
00:04:08.380than what we will have if Democrats regain control of the House and or the Senate.
00:04:13.380Now, we know how slim the margins have been, especially on the Senate side.
00:04:17.240And for that matter, on the House side and Democrats are betting on many Trump voters staying home on Election Day this coming November.
00:04:26.160The president, Donald Trump, predicted on Monday in his Labor Day message that Republicans will win big in the critical midterm elections this November.
00:04:35.740Trump delivering this message, which he also decided to go after Democrats in a post on True Social.
00:05:11.580and save America, President Donald J. Trump.
00:05:15.280Now, Republicans control the House of Representatives
00:05:17.620with a 218-214 majority over the Democrats.
00:05:22.260With one independent, Representative Kevin Kiley,
00:05:25.240a Republican from California, well, he defected.
00:05:28.580Now, in the Senate, Republicans hold a 53-47 majority
00:05:32.440when all senators are actually present and voting.
00:05:36.360That's the big problem for Donald Trump there.
00:05:38.340Now, for a party with a presidency in both chambers in Congress, it is historically incredibly difficult to preserve both the congressional majorities at the midterm elections.
00:05:50.420Prevailing in the midterms has only happened twice for a majority party with control of both chambers and the presidency.
00:05:58.160It most recently happened back in 2002 when Republicans expanded their majorities under President George W. Bush on the heels of the September 11th, 2001 terror attacks.
00:06:10.300Now, before that, Democrats expanded their majorities in the House and the Senate under President Franklin Delano Roosevelt back in 1934.
00:06:18.320Republicans, by the way, received a positive sign in the latest Harvard-Harris poll.
00:06:22.600Among likely voters, 51% said they're more likely to vote for a Republican and 49% said they're more likely to vote for a Democrat, giving the GOP a two percentage point advantage.
00:06:36.340Now, the survey goes against broader polling trends showing Democrats with an edge and the generic congressional ballot.
00:06:44.640Now, the poll was also conducted over the last several days.
00:06:48.540In fact, it was the 28th of August through the 30th.
00:06:51.220Now, President Trump's message and the publication of the poll also comes as Republicans, as I mentioned, are set to host a first of its kind Republican convention in the midterms that will happen in Dallas, Texas this week.
00:07:06.980We will be there live, by the way, each and every day.
00:07:10.560And as the Trump-aligned powerhouse super PAC, MAGA, Inc., has begun spending by committing $10 million as well
00:07:17.960to the Texas Senate race between Republican Kim Paxson and the Democrat James Tallarico.
00:07:24.420I'm going to have more on that in a moment.
00:07:27.320But let me wrap up this first story by saying it is clear the president's ready to fight.
00:07:33.500He's ready to remind the American people of exactly why.
00:07:36.300The president's agenda is important. And if you voted for President Trump's agenda just two years ago, then it's time to make sure you don't let Democrats stop it for the next two years.
00:07:47.080And that's why this midterm convention clearly is so vitally important.
00:07:51.360Next story. Number two, there is a massive race in Texas and virtually everyone is talking about in the political world.
00:07:57.880And almost every political donor has connections to this race.
00:08:02.880the amount of money coming into James Tallarico's campaign from outside the state of Texas is
00:08:08.500historic and a number in which we've never dreamed of before. Well, now there are concerns that
00:08:14.600there's not enough money going into Ken Paxson's campaign, into his corner, into advocating for
00:08:20.220him. Well, President Donald Trump's MAGA Inc., the super PAC that he is behind, is putting at least
00:08:26.92010 million we were told over the weekend behind the texas attorney general ken paxton in that race
00:08:33.160against talarico a federal election commission filing that was submitted on saturday shows the
00:08:40.260group plans to spend five million promoting paxton and then another five million directly
00:08:46.420attacking the record of james talarico the filing marks maga inc's first reported investment in the
00:08:53.120fall campaign ahead of the November midterm elections and when it comes to taxes Ken Paxson
00:09:00.140is the better choice and the MAGA war room put out their first campaign well video and here's
00:09:06.320what it sounded like James Tallarico voted to make it easier to increase property taxes
00:09:12.140supported a four trillion dollar tax hike and Tallarico supports a radical health care plan
00:09:17.740that could close rural hospitals and cost thousands in new taxes.
00:09:23.080Ken Paxton supports tax cuts and has a plan to let you deduct medical expenses
