00:00:30.620 It's so nice to have you with us on the 47 Morning Update.
00:00:33.780 And we've got two major stories for you.
00:00:35.980 First up, we're hearing now from Donald Trump's White House
00:00:39.200 that executive order is on its way over debanking of conservatives
00:00:44.920 by small, mid-size, and especially large banks
00:00:49.820 that are attacking conservatives and Christians
00:00:53.320 solely based because of their belief system.
00:00:56.940 I'll break that down for you in a second.
00:00:58.720 Plus, a major fight happening right now in Texas.
00:01:03.780 Yes, Democrats are leaving the state over redistricting battle.
00:01:09.020 And it's a big problem that could expand all over the country
00:01:12.780 as Democrats are holding state legislators hostage
00:01:16.960 as they're trying to redistrict based on what the voters wanted.
00:01:21.480 What does this mean moving forward?
00:01:23.660 I'll explain it all to you.
00:01:25.220 All right, I want to take a moment to talk about the economy.
00:01:27.860 You've been seeing what's happening on Wall Street.
00:01:29.860 You've seen what's been happening with interest rates.
00:01:31.700 And you've probably seen gold prices hitting all-time record highs.
00:01:37.280 Why?
00:01:37.660 Because there is uncertainty all over the world right now.

00:03:44.360 It's the 47 Morning Update and it starts right now.
00:03:47.900 Story number one.
00:03:49.000 In a major move to protect all Americans,
00:03:53.100 the White House, we're now being told,
00:03:54.800 is preparing a new executive order
00:03:56.940 that would fine banks, small, medium, and the largest,
00:04:02.340 for dropping customers for political reasons.
00:04:05.940 The Wall Street Journal is reporting on it now.
00:04:08.780 The order directs bank regulators to investigate
00:04:12.420 whether any financial institutions might have violated
00:04:16.260 the Equal Credit Opportunity Act,
00:04:19.420 antitrust laws, or consumer financial protection laws.
00:04:23.300 The journal reported citing a draft text of the order.
00:04:26.340 The order, which could be signed as early as this week,
00:04:30.380 provides for monetary penalties, consent decrees,
00:04:34.220 or other disciplinary measures against violators.
00:04:37.540 The order also directs regulators to strike policies
00:04:41.080 they have that might have contributed
00:04:43.620 to banks dropping certain customers
00:04:45.800 and requires the Small Business Association
00:04:48.340 to review the practices of banks
00:04:51.260 that guarantee the agency's loans.
00:04:54.080 Now, this is a major move
00:04:56.760 for protecting specifically conservatives
00:04:59.780 that have been debanked by large banks
00:05:03.360 and small banks alike.
00:05:05.220 There are many in the Second Amendment community
00:05:07.280 that have also been debanked as well.
00:05:09.540 There are Christian organizations that have been debanked,
00:05:13.080 missionary organizations that have been debanked,
00:05:16.260 and conservative organizations that have been debanked,
00:05:20.380 especially during the Biden years.
00:05:22.840 Now, the president's saying,
00:05:24.860 you can't do that.
00:05:26.240 It's un-American, and we're not going to allow it to stand.
00:05:29.600 Now, Reuters is also reporting at this hour
00:05:32.340 that the White House is apparently working on this
00:05:35.840 at a rapid pace
00:05:38.000 because they believe it is time
00:05:39.680 to hold banks accountable
00:05:40.740 that targeted people specifically
00:05:42.560 for their political beliefs.
00:05:45.340 Now, after speaking with people at the White House
00:05:47.440 late this afternoon,
00:05:48.940 here's what I can also tell you.
00:05:50.640 The White House, I've been told,
00:05:52.080 is in fact preparing an executive order
00:05:54.180 that would empower the regulators
00:05:56.060 to penalize banks
00:05:57.780 for, quote,
00:05:58.600 terminating customer relationships
00:06:00.800 based on political beliefs.
00:06:03.900 These penalties could include hefty fines,
00:06:06.080 I'm being told,
00:06:06.960 and also disciplinary actions.
00:06:09.940 Now, financial regulators would be instructed
00:06:12.600 to investigate potential breaches,
00:06:15.040 not only the Equal Credit Opportunity Act
00:06:17.400 I mentioned earlier,
00:06:18.540 and antitrust laws,
00:06:19.880 but also consumer protection regulations
00:06:22.360 by banks accused of politically motivated actions
00:06:26.060 against those who had bank accounts at their bank.
00:06:29.700 The draft order also calls on policymakers
00:06:33.200 to revoke existing internal bank policies
00:06:36.560 that actually may have led
00:06:38.080 to politically motivated account closures
00:06:40.420 and directs the Small Business Administration
00:06:43.240 to review loan-back practices
00:06:46.060 that could involve similar issues as well.
00:06:48.780 Now, although no banks are mentioned by name,
00:06:52.220 the order appears tied to public criticism
00:06:54.960 of major institutions,
00:06:57.260 such as JPMorgan Chase
00:06:59.120 and Bank of America,
00:07:00.920 accused of severing ties
00:07:02.940 with conservative clients,
00:07:05.200 a charge that, of course,
00:07:06.340 they strongly deny,
00:07:07.960 and the Wall Street Journal
00:07:08.880 has reported on this extensively recently.
00:07:11.940 Now, according to others,
00:07:13.480 the order could be signed,
00:07:14.860 like I said, this week,
00:07:16.740 potentially spelling major trouble
00:07:18.620 for big banks.
00:07:20.300 Now, this move reflects
00:07:21.940 Donald Trump's ongoing concern,
00:07:24.640 especially from conservative circles,
00:07:26.900 about political bias
00:07:28.460 or debanking in financial services.
00:07:30.640 It forms part of a broader regulatory agenda
00:07:33.920 to ensure economic institutions remain neutral
00:07:37.280 and customers aren't penalized for political beliefs.
00:07:40.800 At the end of the day,
00:07:41.900 the president of the United States of America
00:07:43.340 wants to make sure you're not targeted
00:07:45.140 because you voted for him
00:07:46.980 and in the future to make sure
00:07:49.140 that no matter who you vote for,
00:07:50.620 you're not targeted by a bank.
00:07:52.800 Now, the order has not been officially issued yet,
00:07:55.900 and there's a very good chance
00:07:57.280 there will be changes that are made
00:07:59.300 in the coming days and hours.
00:08:02.300 Banks and regulators
00:08:03.360 also are remaining relatively quiet,
00:08:06.560 and the White House
00:08:07.240 is saying they're willing to talk,
00:08:09.280 but there's many that are scared
00:08:10.800 what may be coming down the pipeline.
00:08:13.460 And the big question is this,
00:08:15.260 which agencies are actually going to lead enforcement?
00:08:19.060 Oversight, I'm being told,
00:08:20.460 is likely going to be by federal banking regulators,
00:08:23.120 the Department of Justice, and the SBA.
00:08:27.260 Implementation details are going to work
00:08:29.740 through the White House
00:08:30.860 in the hours and days ahead.
00:08:33.440 At the end of the day, what does this mean?
00:08:35.700 Well, it means that Donald Trump's looking out
00:08:37.520 for conservatives that have been targeted solely
00:08:40.020 because of our political beliefs.
00:08:42.920 And that's exactly why so many Americans voted for him.
00:08:46.380 Now, story number two.
00:08:47.840 Over 50 Texas House Democrats,
00:08:51.020 including 62 members total in the lower chamber,
00:08:54.900 have left Texas traveling to Illinois,
00:08:57.900 New York, and Massachusetts.
00:08:59.680 Well, at least they're consistent up there
00:09:01.360 being sanctuary states and cities.
00:09:04.100 Why?
00:09:04.840 To deny quorum and block
00:09:07.120 a GOP-backed congressional redistricting plan
00:09:10.260 that would likely add up to five new Republican-leaning
00:09:13.180 U.S. House seats.
00:09:14.760 That is the claim by Democrats
00:09:16.400 and why they're now fleeing the state.
00:09:18.640 Now, this strategy mirrors previous walkouts
00:09:22.020 in 2021 and in 2003 in Texas,
00:09:25.160 where the quorum rules were used
00:09:27.500 to slow down legislation.
00:09:30.020 Governor Greg Abbott has now responded,
00:09:32.800 issuing a 3 p.m. Monday ultimatum
00:09:36.160 for Democrats to return or face serious consequences.
00:09:40.820 He threatened to, quote,
00:09:42.100 invoke a 2021 AG opinion,
00:09:44.640 allowing courts to declare seats vacant
00:09:47.060 due to intentional, quote,
00:09:49.260 abandonment of office.
00:09:51.480 He also could seek civil arrest warrants
00:09:53.880 for absent members.
00:09:55.620 Valid only, however, inside of Texas,
00:09:58.860 which is why so many Democrats
00:10:00.780 have fled to liberal states.
00:10:03.060 Also, he can investigate potential felony charges
00:10:06.180 for fundraising to pay the $500 a day fines
00:10:10.420 that are being imposed by the House rules.
00:10:13.620 Now, the Texas House passed an 85 to 6 vote
00:10:17.780 authorizing the Sergeant-at-Arms
00:10:20.200 to issue civil arrest warrants
00:10:22.240 for those that were purposely absent.
00:10:25.760 Now, breaking quorum, by the way,
00:10:27.980 is not a crime,
00:10:29.160 making extradition impossible.
00:10:31.880 Abbott cannot legally compel lawmakers
00:10:34.660 to return from other states directly,
00:10:38.020 is what is being said now by Politico.
00:10:39.620 Declarations of vacancy
00:10:42.020 would require individual court action
00:10:44.280 in each lawmaker's district,
00:10:46.800 potentially years of litigation,
00:10:48.840 and would delay redistricting
00:10:50.200 beyond the December 2025 deadline
00:10:52.840 for the 2026 primaries.
00:10:56.000 And that's exactly why Democrats
00:10:57.980 are playing this game.
00:10:59.780 Texas Democrats maintain
00:11:01.400 they are, quote,
00:11:02.500 standing up for Democratic norms,
00:11:04.960 not running away.
00:11:06.100 You can decide how ridiculous
00:11:08.060 they actually are in your own minds.
00:11:10.580 But many of the representatives
00:11:11.780 are now taking more heat.
00:11:14.300 Why?
00:11:14.880 Because they are prioritizing
00:11:16.940 the Democrats' agenda
00:11:19.580 over prioritizing flood relief.
00:11:22.600 Yes, that was one of the issues
00:11:24.000 on the table that they're now fleeing from.
00:11:26.420 I'll give you just another example
00:11:28.240 of also how many liberal cities
00:11:30.300 are helping them and states.
00:11:32.080 The Illinois governor, Pritzker,
00:11:34.780 publicly backed the lawmakers' actions,
00:11:37.340 calling them a courageous defense
00:11:39.980 of democracy and saying,
00:11:41.720 welcome to Illinois.
00:11:43.140 Democrats are characterizing
00:11:44.860 the governor of Texas, Abbott's,
00:11:47.060 threats as, quote,
00:11:48.220 smoke and mirrors,
00:11:49.360 pointing out that constitutional tools
00:11:51.280 like quorum breaks
00:11:52.300 are legitimate devices,
00:11:54.020 they say, to use under Texas law.
00:11:57.420 Here's more of what Governor Abbott
00:11:59.300 had to say about what the Democrats
00:12:00.880 are doing and now
00:12:02.500 what they're going to face.
00:12:03.940 So very simply,
00:12:05.300 it would be bribery
00:12:06.520 if any lawmaker took money
00:12:09.480 to perform or to refuse to perform
00:12:11.840 an act in the legislature.
00:12:14.660 And the reports are
00:12:16.260 these legislators have been both,
00:12:19.060 they sought money
00:12:19.880 and they offered money
00:12:21.120 to skip the vote,
00:12:24.280 to leave the legislature,
00:12:25.420 to take a legislative act.
00:12:28.740 That would be bribery.
00:12:29.900 And so the facts
00:12:31.560 will have to come out,
00:12:32.380 but I think based upon comments
00:12:34.540 made by legislators themselves,
00:12:36.200 they face a possibility
00:12:37.880 of facing bribery charges,
00:12:39.580 which is a second degree felony
00:12:41.140 in the state of Texas.
00:12:42.160 There's one way to cure that,
00:12:44.020 and that is,
00:12:45.000 if they get back to the state of Texas
00:12:46.800 and make quorum today
00:12:48.380 at a hearing that we have
00:12:49.720 at three o'clock,
00:12:51.000 they can cure themselves
00:12:52.460 of any quid pro quo
00:12:54.140 that would subject them
00:12:55.360 to potential bribery charges.
00:12:56.740 Well, guess what?
00:12:58.260 Democrats decided not
00:12:59.720 to come back by three o'clock.
00:13:01.600 And why?
00:13:02.260 Because apparently
00:13:03.100 they love the idea
00:13:04.460 of being arrested
00:13:05.280 and saying they're being
00:13:06.440 politically persecuted.
00:13:08.220 Now, the one takeaway
00:13:09.300 from this is pretty simple
00:13:11.160 and clear.
00:13:12.520 You can expect Democrats
00:13:13.740 to probably pull
00:13:14.780 the same exact shenanigans
00:13:16.320 you're witnessing right now
00:13:17.720 in other states
00:13:19.180 around the country,
00:13:20.180 and they're using Texas
00:13:21.780 as the blueprint for it.
