00:01:34.240 We will sit down at the table and negotiate and see if the smart people in that system
00:01:40.260 can take over from the crazy people. Well, here's the basic deal that we cut. The basic
00:01:44.880 deal that we cut was we'll lift our blockade if you stop shooting at ships. But if you
00:01:50.020 shoot at ships, we are going to punch back and we're going to punch back harder than 0.90
00:01:53.840 ever before. That was the deal. They said they would stop shooting at ships. And what 0.98
00:01:58.480 happened 24 hours ago? They start shooting at ships again. Now, they were good. They
00:02:02.500 were well behaved for about a week but then they start shooting at ships so the deal is very simple
00:02:06.980 if they shoot at ships we're going to knock the hell out of them and it's that simple and that's
00:02:11.220 the basic way it's going to work you're listening to the 47 morning update with ben ferguson good
00:02:17.980 thursday morning it's nice to have you with us on the 47 morning update and we've got a major story
00:02:22.900 for you coming out of iran donald trump is declaring now that the iranian ceasefire is over
00:02:28.880 And America is hitting back at Iran hard at this hour.
00:02:32.760 Well, the president's also saying now Iran wants to make a deal. 1.00
00:02:36.740 But they're crazy and sick people. 0.99
00:02:39.100 We have all the audio and the breaking news. 0.99
00:02:41.360 It's the 47 Morning Update, and it starts right now.
00:02:44.700 Story number one.
00:02:45.860 We have major breaking news.
00:02:47.480 President Donald Trump is making it crystal clear.
00:02:50.600 As far as he's concerned, the ceasefire with Iran is over.
00:02:55.460 Now, let me be clear.
00:02:56.780 This is not speculation.
00:02:58.000 That is exactly what he told reporters while attending the NATO summit.
00:03:02.600 His words were blunt.
00:03:04.140 To me, I think it's over.
00:03:06.360 I don't want to deal with them anymore. 1.00
00:03:08.860 They're scum. 1.00
00:03:10.000 They're led by sick people. 1.00
00:03:12.340 The president of the United States of America, 1.00
00:03:14.240 making sure that we hit back extremely hard against Iran.
00:03:17.940 And here's how they described it on ABC News.
00:03:20.980 And the other breaking story at this hour, the U.S. striking Iran right now.
00:03:24.540 A U.S. official telling ABC News at this hour tonight's operations are bigger in scope, meant to degrade Iran's ability to threaten ships in the Strait of Hormuz.
00:03:33.060 CENCOM releasing images of last night's attacks, saying they struck defense systems and coastal radar.
00:03:38.740 Iran tonight saying it has targeted U.S. military installations in Bahrain and Kuwait, and tonight promising more retaliation.
00:03:45.740 And this evening, amid these new U.S. strikes on Iran, oil prices already surging and our gas prices set to go up again.
00:03:52.600 Rachel Scott leading us off tonight.
00:03:54.540 Tonight, as the U.S. launches a new attack on Iran, the second in 24 hours, President Trump now declaring the ceasefire over.
00:04:03.340 I think it's over. I don't want to deal with them anymore. They're scum. You know what scum is? There's something wrong with them. They're cuckoo.
00:04:10.540 The new U.S. strikes hitting Iran's coastal radar sites and anti-ship missile locations.
00:04:16.700 A larger attack than last night when 80 targets were hit.
00:04:20.580 It comes in response to Iran firing on three cargo ships near the Strait of Hormuz.
00:04:26.680 The big question, what comes next?
00:04:29.700 Overnight, Iran launching missiles at U.S. bases in the Gulf.
00:04:33.040 Those missiles intercepted.
00:04:34.740 Now, as you can hear there, even ABC News making it clear the president's hitting back very hard.
00:04:40.120 The president was also asked about what we can expect moving forward.
00:04:43.980 And here's part of what he had to say in Turkey.
00:04:46.460 We're not attacking at the highest level.
00:04:49.880 The highest level of the bridges there, which we can knock down,
00:04:54.760 I would say in one day we knock down every single bridge in Iran. 1.00
00:04:58.540 There's not a thing they can do about it. 1.00
00:05:01.240 They're electric manufacturing facilities, right?
00:05:05.860 They're electric plants where they make their electricity.
00:05:09.440 We will, if we have to, we'll take them out.
00:05:13.020 I don't want to do that, but if we have to, we'll take them out.
00:05:16.580 They have desalidization plants.
00:05:19.140 We'll take them out if we have to.
00:05:20.400 I hate to do that.
00:05:21.200 That's probably the one I would like not to do least.
00:05:25.060 We attacked Cargill Island last night.
00:05:27.420 We knocked out a piece.
00:05:28.380 I said, don't touch the oil because maybe we'll take over Cargill Island.
00:05:33.420 We may take over Cargill Island.
00:05:35.840 There's not a thing they can do about it.
00:05:37.720 And that wasn't all the president had to say about the warnings of what attacks could happen moving forward,
00:05:43.020 what targets could happen, even taking over their island, which is where their oil comes in and out
00:05:47.780 of. President Trump also said he's just sick and tired of dealing with the Iranian negotiators.
00:05:54.040 I don't want to deal with them anymore. They're scum. You know what scum is? They're scum. They're 1.00
00:05:58.040 sick people. President Trump opening the NATO summit by declaring, in his view, the agreement 0.99
00:06:03.400 with Iran is off. There's something wrong with them. They're cuckoo. Appearing visibly angry,
00:06:09.080 the president repeatedly criticized Iranian leaders. They're liars, they're cheats, they're 1.00
00:06:15.540 sick people. His comments came hours after renewed U.S. strikes on Iran, thick orange smoke seen 1.00
00:06:23.640 rising over Bandar Abbas, home to Iran's main naval base. U.S. Central Command launched what
00:06:29.500 it called a series of powerful strikes hitting more than 80 Iranian targets, including air
00:06:34.200 defense systems, radars and at least 60 small boats. All after the U.S. says Iran attacked
00:06:39.380 three tankers in the Strait of Hormuz. I think what you did last night was absolutely necessary. 0.99
00:06:45.240 It was a very strong response. Trump also revoked a waiver allowing the sale of Iranian oil on the
00:06:50.620 world market. In response, a top Iranian warned the era of bullying and extortion is over. It
00:06:57.220 leads nowhere. We don't fold. Iran retaliated with attacks of its own, saying it launched strikes on
00:07:03.380 85 American military targets in Mahrain and Kuwait.
00:07:08.680 The attacks came during a pause in negotiations
00:07:11.620 as Iran holds a massive, days-long funeral for Ayatollah Ali Khamenei,
00:07:16.440 the supreme leader killed on the first day of U.S.-Israel attacks on Iran.
00:07:20.140 We said, go and do your funeral stuff,
00:07:23.480 and instead of that, they start shooting rockets at ships.
00:07:27.660 At the summit, the president also unloaded on alliance members
00:07:30.800 for not doing enough to help the U.S. against Iran.
00:07:33.580 We protect them, but they're not there for us. 1.00
00:07:35.740 Think of it. It doesn't work.
00:07:37.400 The Trump administration's message couldn't be stronger.
00:07:40.860 And the media is clearly carrying that message
00:07:43.080 after the president said so bluntly what he thought about the deal being over
00:07:47.380 and what could come next.
00:07:49.420 And the White House laying it out again,
00:07:51.080 saying for decades Iran has used terrorism, proxy militias,
00:07:55.540 hostage-taking, attacks on American troops,
00:07:58.280 and threats against allies as tools of its foreign policy.
00:08:02.140 President Trump says for 47 years, Iran acted as the bully of the Middle East.
00:08:07.980 And he said that era is ending.
00:08:10.620 Now, the White House also emphasized that these latest operations are about much more than retaliation.
00:08:16.260 They're about preventing Iran from ever becoming a nuclear weapons state.
00:08:20.280 President Trump said the United States is prepared to target additional strategic infrastructure if necessary,
00:08:25.780 including their critical power facilities.
00:08:29.500 He also suggested the U.S. could dramatically increase pressure
00:08:33.160 on Iran's vital oil infrastructure including Karg Island,
00:08:38.140 the country's primary oil export terminal with a threat that we may take it over.
00:08:43.220 The administration has also reinstated those major oil sanctions against Iran
00:08:48.100 tightening the economic screws once again after determining Tehran violated the ceasefire agreement.
00:08:54.640 Those sanctions are intended to cut off revenue that Washington says helps finance Iran's military and their terrorist proxy networks.
00:09:03.940 Now, if you just take a step back, this isn't happening in isolation.
00:09:08.000 President Trump is making these announcements while attending the NATO summit, where another major story is also unfolding.
00:09:14.380 The White House says Trump has fundamentally changed NATO by pushing America's allies to shoulder more of the defense burden rather than relying overwhelmingly on U.S. taxpayers.
00:09:26.340 The administration argues that increased defense spending by NATO members is now helping American manufacturing and strengthening the U.S. defense industrial base as well.
00:09:36.180 Trump also announced that the United States will license Ukraine to manufacture Patriot missile defense systems while leaving open the possibility of future F-35 sales to Turkey as well.
00:09:49.480 So in one trip overseas, what you're seeing is multiple fronts of American foreign policy
00:09:56.000 moving by the president simultaneously, continued pressure on Iran, NATO burden sharing, support
00:10:04.000 for Ukraine's now air defense systems, strategic discussions with Turkey as well, and then
00:10:09.520 the diplomatic regions across the alliance.
00:10:12.400 The White House is also pointing to what they say are encouraging economic developments
00:10:16.200 at home.
00:10:16.780 President Trump highlighting Walmart decision to lower grocery prices and urged other retailers to follow suit.
00:10:24.740 He also argued that falling oil and gasoline prices should translate into lower prices for American consumers across the economy immediately.
00:10:33.820 And the administration is also celebrating several new investment announcements this week,
00:10:38.400 including Apple, reported $30 billion investment in U.S. semiconductor manufacturing
00:10:44.660 and additional manufacturing expansion in Texas,
00:10:48.700 presenting them as evidence that industrial investment continues flowing into the U.S.
00:10:54.340 The White House once again is also urging Congress this week
00:10:57.860 to advance additional legislation on defense funding
00:11:01.320 as well as election security ahead of the midterms,
00:11:04.680 making those priorities a centerpiece of its domestic agenda.
00:11:09.040 Now, why is the White House talking about all of this right now?
00:11:12.080 They're proving that the president is not just focused on Iran,
00:11:15.800 that you can do multiple things at once.
00:11:18.380 And the biggest question today is whether Iran chooses further escalation
00:11:22.940 or if they actually want to get a deal done.
00:11:26.020 The president saying this from Air Force One hours after he had his big meetings at NATO.
00:11:32.360 We hit back much on.
00:11:34.020 Are we returning to a full-scale military conflict, sir?
00:11:37.060 I don't know. I don't know. We'd win it very quickly.
00:11:39.940 It's another way of doing it. We have many ways we can win.
00:11:42.720 But we've already won militarily.
00:11:44.600 They have very little left, and they want to make a deal so badly.
00:11:48.980 They called a little while ago. They want to make a deal so badly.
00:11:53.160 I just don't know if they're worthy of making a deal.
00:11:55.220 I don't know if they're going to honor the deal. That's a problem.
00:11:57.640 If they want to make a deal, why do you think they attacked commercial vessels?
00:12:00.980 because it's not a crazy to be honest with you it's not a crazy they're a little bit out of
00:12:10.220 control but they want to make a deal badly the president united states america saying that on
00:12:18.600 his way home on air force one and here's what the big takeaway is the united states is demonstrating
00:12:24.680 that not only is the trump administration willing to respond militarily after attacks on international
00:12:30.060 shipping. President Trump has also warned that these additional strikes will remain on the table,
00:12:35.880 emphasizing that the objective is to eliminate Iran's ability to threaten maritime commerce
00:12:40.340 and prevent the region from advancing towards a nuclear weapon. Now, the coming hours and days,
00:12:46.320 well, that's going to determine whether Iran backs down or whether this confrontation
00:12:50.160 enters another phase. The one thing that is certain this morning, the ceasefire that many
00:12:56.160 hoped would stabilize the region appears to have collapsed, and the United States has made it clear
00:13:01.640 it intends to respond with overwhelming force if American interests or international shipping
00:13:08.260 are attacked again. Thank you for listening to the 47 Morning Update with Ben Ferguson.
