00:00:34.500 Hey, I'm Jack Armstrong.
00:00:35.700 He's Joe Getty.
00:00:36.340 We've been trying to figure out how to describe what is Armstrong and Getty on demand for many years.
00:00:40.800 I'm going to give it a shot.
00:00:41.580 So most media is either agenda-driven or they're so shallow.
00:00:45.260 And boring.
00:00:46.560 Don't learn anything anyway.
00:00:48.080 We try to get to the bottom of the stories that are shaping our worlds and help you understand what's actually happening.
00:00:54.080 So give it a try sometime.
00:00:55.340 Entertaining and you learn something?
00:00:56.620 Where do I tune in?
00:00:57.400 Listen to Armstrong and Getty On Demand on the iHeartRadio app,
00:01:00.460 Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
00:01:05.360 Hey, it's Drew Franklin from NFL Cover Zero.
00:01:08.080 The 2026 season is underway, and we are loving football on TV.
00:01:12.340 Here's what you can expect from the podcast in our second season.
00:01:14.960 I would suggest for these preseason games,
00:01:17.600 I think they should do what they do on the NFL draft. 0.87
00:01:21.460 You know, when coverage of the NFL draft is basically for moms,
00:01:24.260 And they're just like, hey, he has a dog named Spark.
00:01:30.380 Listen to NFL Cover Zero on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
00:01:39.420 Welcome. It is Vertical Center, Ted Cruz, Ben Ferguson with you.
00:01:43.380 It's so nice to have you with us also on radio stations all over the country.
00:01:47.940 Thanks for joining us.
00:01:49.280 And a reminder, this show, if you're listening on the radio, is also a podcast.
00:01:52.520 three days a week. You can download Verdict with Ted Cruz wherever you get your podcasts.
00:01:57.880 All right. The hangover is somewhat moving. I feel like we're recovering, Senator, a little bit.
00:02:02.580 It was a brutal week. Many people listening for the first time on radio. With the midterm elections,
00:02:07.280 we got a lot more data now about what happened on Tuesday. And we're going to break that down
00:02:13.020 for people so that they understand everything that we're getting out of this. Well, look,
00:02:18.020 Tuesday was a bloodbath, and it is a message from the voters.
00:02:23.280 The voters are pissed off.
00:02:25.280 They're angry.
00:02:27.360 A great many voters, at the end of the day, their lives have been harder the last couple of years.
00:02:36.280 Yeah.
00:02:36.580 It's been harder to pay the rent.
00:02:38.760 It's been harder to pay the mortgage.
00:02:40.040 It's been harder to feed the kids.
00:02:41.860 It's been harder to buy groceries.
00:02:43.040 It's been harder to fill the tank.
00:02:44.320 every expense in life has gotten harder and and and people are angry and they express that rage
00:02:52.760 really in a no volcanic rage on election day and and i will say a lot of us who are engaged in the
00:03:00.720 political world professionally we knew the election day was going to be bad yeah we knew that it was
00:03:07.220 likely very likely we're going to lose the house and and we knew it was likely we're going to lose
00:03:12.240 the senate that being said and to be clear i said on this podcast there's a very real chance that we
00:03:19.140 could lose as many as 10 senate seats i said that on this pod yeah i also said
00:03:25.920 we could end up losing every single statewide election in texas now i gotta say when i said that
00:03:35.060 i don't think a lot of people believe me that they sort of viewed it as okay that's that's just
00:03:41.400 you know ringing the alarm bell trying to scare people that can't really happen
00:03:45.820 and then holy cow and and i was i was looking at the numbers i was like this is this is bad i'm
00:03:51.700 seeing a wave growing and it's getting bigger and it's getting bigger and it's getting bigger
00:03:55.180 and it's taller than the buildings and holy cow it keeps getting so i'm seeing that yeah and and
00:04:01.200 and i'm trying to say let's not have this happen let's let's show up let's vote let's vote against
00:04:07.060 this uh but as bad as i thought it was going to be tuesday was worse yeah um i thought we were
00:04:18.100 going to lose the senate we could lose 10 or 11 senate seats we're waiting on on mississippi and
00:04:25.560 and alaska to be decided i hope we hold on to those two but it is yes we're already at 54 democrats
00:04:34.820 We could be at 56.
00:04:37.540 That is generationally damaging.
00:04:42.160 Yeah.
00:04:42.800 That means...
00:04:44.240 By the way, explain why that's generationally damaging when you get up to 54, 55, 56.
00:04:50.340 I want you to answer that, but before we get to that, I want to tell you about Patriot Mobile.
00:04:54.420 If you think wireless companies are all the same, you might need to take a look at Patriot Mobile.
00:04:58.840 Because Patriot Mobile isn't just different because of its mission.
00:05:01.780 It's actually built to outperform the other carriers.
00:05:04.820 They give you premium priority nationwide service on any of the three major U.S. networks,
00:05:10.860 helping you get the best coverage wherever life takes you.
00:05:14.440 Now, this is the part I love about Patriot Mobile.
00:05:17.340 They are the only Christian conservative wireless provider,
00:05:21.140 and they take millions of dollars, yes, every year,
00:05:24.480 and they give it back to causes that support our First Amendment rights,
00:05:28.860 our Second Amendment rights, the rights of unborn children,
00:05:31.860 and they help and advocate for our wounded warriors,
00:05:34.820 are men and women in uniform that fight and protect us in the streets in this country and
00:05:39.040 around the world. That is why I love giving my money to a company that is actually fighting
00:05:44.900 for the values that I believe in. Now, switching has never been easier. You can keep your same
00:05:49.420 number, keep your phone, upgrade to a new one, and you can switch your home or your office or
00:05:54.380 your business or small business in just a few minutes. Call Patriot Mobile. You're going to
00:05:59.400 talk to someone right here in America. Superior coverage, superior products, and most importantly,
00:06:06.840 they put your money back to work on the things that protect all of us. So go to PatriotMobile.com
00:06:12.500 slash verdict or 972 Patriot. Use the promo code verdict for a free month of service.
00:06:19.980 That's PatriotMobile.com slash verdict or 972 Patriot today. All right, Senator, you just said
00:06:26.360 a moment ago that this is generational harm that can be done. If the Democrats do get to 55-56
00:06:33.520 votes in the Senate, explain why that is so different than if it was 51-52.
00:06:40.620 Well, look, Senate races are very different from House races. House races, every two years,
00:06:47.500 all 435 House races are on the ballot. So we can get obliterated. We could lose 300 seats in the
00:06:54.800 house and the next year we could pick up a hundred of those back now that that's a bigger swing than
00:06:59.180 typically happens but the point is every single one of them is on the ballot every two years
00:07:04.180 yeah the senate is different we have six-year terms in the senate so every two years only a
00:07:11.120 third of the senate is on the ballot that means two years from now all of the losses we had this
00:07:17.980 election we can't turn any of them around we can turn zero of them around it will take six years
00:07:24.680 to have the chance to turn them around so we lost races in bright red states kansas kansas has not
00:07:31.740 elected a democrat to the senate since 1932 yeah we'll flip kansas the next time around
00:07:40.040 we will flip if we lose mississippi i don't know if we are going to or not i hope we don't but if
00:07:44.960 we lose mississippi we'll flip it in six years i believe we will flip texas in six years there
00:07:50.560 are a bunch of red states we will flip but we don't get to flip it 2026 that election is done
00:07:56.200 we're not going to be able to flip it in 2030 because they're not on the ballot we're not going
00:07:59.680 to be able to to 2028 rather they're not on the ballot we're not going to be able to flip it in
00:08:03.780 2030 they're not on the ballot we have to wait till 2032 which is a really long time for now
00:08:10.240 yeah it is it's a long time south carolina south carolina just elected a democrat we'll flip
00:08:16.180 south carolina back but for six years we're going to have a democrat and so retaking the majority
00:08:22.400 in the senate is very very difficult the map is less favorable in two years we've got to win in
00:08:29.280 some more purple and blue states now we might we're going to make i i think 2028 is going to
00:08:35.040 be a really good republican year ironically because 2026 was such a bad republican year
00:08:42.580 yeah that that the democrats who are in power they're going to overreach these guys they are
00:08:50.260 drunk on their own power they are high on their own supply the radicals are running the democrat 0.67
00:08:56.440 party the marxist and islamist are in charge and they believe they have a mandate now by the way 0.64
00:09:02.820 they ran the whole campaign on affordability yep and and prices and now they're all about 0.99
00:09:08.680 subpoenas and attack and rage and socialism and islamism and dei and and and we're going to 0.91
00:09:15.520 train your kids yeah like it is everything they talked about in the election is going to be
00:09:22.800 forgotten and i gotta say the voters who were annoyed at four dollar gas they're going to be
00:09:31.020 really annoyed after two four six years of democrat policies when you see six dollar gas
00:09:36.860 eight dollar gas ten dollar gas because that's what the democrats want one of the big differences
00:09:41.860 republicans want gas prices to be lower democrats want them higher why because they want they want
00:09:48.820 to ban gasoline engines they want to force us all to drive little priuses and and and so
00:09:55.560 the people who were pissed and understandably pissed and said i'm mad at you i'm voting the
00:10:01.120 other side. Every issue they were mad about is going to get worse, but it's going to take some
00:10:08.460 time to turn this around. The good news is we are going to turn this around. I am optimistic.
00:10:13.560 I believe Texas will be red again, and we're going to flip the country. We're not going to socialism.

00:10:49.800 Hey, I'm Jack Armstrong.
00:10:52.020 He's Joe Getty.
00:10:52.700 We're Armstrong and Getty.
00:10:53.780 We've been trying to figure out
00:10:54.800 how to describe what is Armstrong and Getty
00:10:56.760 on demand for many years. I'm going to give it a
00:10:58.820 shot. So most media is either
00:11:00.660 agenda driven. So they intentionally leave parts out
00:11:02.820 or they lie to you. Or they're so shallow
00:11:04.660 and boring. You don't learn
00:11:06.720 anything anyway. We try to get to the bottom
00:11:08.800 of the stories that are shaping our worlds
00:11:10.640 and help you understand what's actually
00:11:12.720 happening. The Armstrong and Getty show
00:11:14.820 practically perfect in every way.
00:11:16.700 Yeah I really like you guys. So I've been listening
00:11:18.560 for over 10 years. I'll always be an
00:11:20.740 avid listener and better informed for it. 0.99
00:11:22.880 The show is a collection of silly
00:11:24.520 serious and irreverent musings of the day hilariously balanced with more than just a
00:11:30.320 pinch of sarcasm whether it's on the left or the right if somebody does something or says something
00:11:35.380 stupid they're going to call it out and i love that i love it keep up the great work i'm rocking 0.69
00:11:40.160 with ang so give it a try sometime entertaining and you learn something where do i tune in listen 0.99
00:11:44.380 to armstrong and getty on demand on the iheart radio app apple podcasts or wherever you get your
00:11:49.340 podcasts football's back hey it's drew franklin from nfl cover zero enjoy the nfl season while
00:11:57.380 listening to nfl cover zero we have storylines predictions and lots of silliness here's what
00:12:02.520 you can expect from the podcast in our second season when you meet people and you say your
00:12:07.680 job's a sports announcer it's always interesting to see what the first thing they say is i did have
00:12:13.640 one of the more difficult questions
00:12:16.000 though. He sits next to me
00:12:17.680 and he sees I'm
00:12:19.480 on my computer and he goes
00:12:21.600 big sports fan. And I was like yeah actually
00:12:23.920 and he goes
00:12:25.220 what do you think about my Jaguars this year?
00:12:28.080 I realized like no one's ever asked
00:12:29.860 me that question ever
00:12:31.460 about anything. And I
00:12:33.860 was like
00:12:34.600 Duval.
00:12:37.340 Listen to NFL Cover Zero on the iHeartRadio
00:12:40.100 app, Apple Podcasts or wherever
00:12:41.780 you get your podcasts.
00:12:43.640 Cass Center, you put out a special statement on this podcast that went viral, went viral on social
00:12:54.300 media. It went viral on YouTube. And I think it's really important that people hear exactly what you
00:13:00.060 had to say right after the election. I want to play that now. Take a listen. History was made
00:13:05.120 last night for months. We were saying that 2026 was the most consequential midterm election
00:13:11.920 of our lifetimes. Unfortunately, we were right. Sometimes history is to be celebrated.
00:13:20.340 Other times, it is to be mourned. Always, it must be reckoned with.
00:13:26.960 2026 was not simply a blue wave. It was a blue tsunami. It was an ass kicking.
00:13:34.700 It was not simply a bad 2006 midterm election. It was a Watergate-level repudiation. 0.98
00:13:46.000 What happened and why? What are the consequences? And where on earth do we go from here?
00:13:54.500 When all the votes were counted, the problem wasn't turnout. Instead, our voters, Republicans,
00:14:01.800 libertarians, and dependents showed up in vote and rejected our candidates voting Democrat
00:14:10.220 instead. We've lost the House. We've lost the Senate. When all is said and done, we will have
00:14:18.360 lost eight to ten Senate seats. We lost in historically red states like South Carolina
00:14:25.440 and North Carolina, Kansas and Iowa. We lost in purple states like Michigan and New Hampshire
00:14:33.220 and Georgia. And we just barely won by just a single point in bright red states like Florida
00:14:42.860 and Louisiana. And then there's Texas. Nowhere are the consequences of this election greater
00:14:52.980 than Texas. In the Lone Star State, we lost every single statewide election.
00:15:02.520 For weeks, I had been publicly warning on this podcast that we were in very real danger
00:15:09.620 of losing everything in Texas. Far too few believed that was possible.
00:15:16.360 I am very, very sorry that it came to pass.
00:15:23.080 Texas has not had a Democrat governor since 1994.
00:15:28.060 We haven't had a Democrat senator since 1993.
00:15:33.640 Now we'll have both.
00:15:36.160 Why were the results so overwhelming?
00:15:40.420 Pundits and analysts will break down the results for weeks or months or even years to come.
00:15:45.320 But several things are already evident today.
00:15:49.880 Years ago, the very best political advice I ever got was from Heidi.
00:15:55.720 She said, it's not about you.
00:15:58.800 It's about them.
00:16:00.260 It's about their kids, their families, their hopes, their dreams, their futures.
00:16:06.660 Too many politicians forget that.
00:16:10.860 Take the state of Kansas, for example.
00:16:12.940 a state that has not elected a Democrat senator since 1932. It just did.
00:16:22.520 Here's what exit polling showed were the top issues in Kansas. Number one, cost of living,
00:16:28.780 energy and groceries. That was listed as number one by 30.6 percent of voters. Corruption,
00:16:36.200 Number two, 18.5%. The cost of the Iran war, 10.1%. The candidates are terrible, 7.9%.
00:16:50.740 The Canada trade war, 7.6%. The GOP didn't do enough to support Trump, 6.6%.
00:17:02.840 5.6%. Republicans didn't pass the Save America Act, 5.6%. Trump's focus on monuments, 5.5%.
00:17:15.520 And data centers and AI, 3.8%. The top issue, cost of living, is very real.
00:17:27.980 Too many in politics dismissed it.
00:17:30.700 They didn't understand.
00:17:32.360 They pointed to the macro numbers showing the stock market soaring, median income at record highs, and poverty at record lows.
00:17:41.400 Those data are true, but they don't tell all of the story.
00:17:46.580 Here are some stats that are a lot more real and personal.
00:17:51.840 Spam.
00:17:53.880 Hormel's process meat substitute.
00:17:57.120 broke record sales, selling 113 million cans last year.
00:18:06.060 That is nearly as much spam as was sold during the entirety of World War II.
00:18:14.620 29% of Americans have used Buy Now, Pay Later for groceries this year.
00:18:23.280 that's double the share just two years ago in august banks repossessed 42 percent more homes
00:18:33.200 than they did last year in 2024 car repossessions topped 2.3 million above the 2009 peak
00:18:46.180 in the middle of the great financial crisis. In 2025, 6% of 401k holders took hardship
00:18:56.200 withdrawals, paying penalties. That is a record and triple the norm. And here's one that's really
00:19:03.980 stunning. Americans made more than 75 million paid plasma donations in 2026. That's another record.
00:19:16.180 That means 200,000 Americans every single day with a needle in their arm just to pay for groceries.
00:19:25.920 That is very real pain from real Americans.
00:19:30.580 And too many Republican politicians seem like they didn't understand or they didn't care.
00:19:36.720 Food is too high. Gas is too high. Diesel is too high. Insurance is too high. Life is too high.
00:19:43.460 tariffs have made everything too expensive and the iran war has dragged on too long
00:19:52.740 it should have been brief decisive and over it needs to end and we should never under any
00:20:02.720 circumstances give the ayatollah billions of dollars there's a very real economic disconnect
00:20:12.720 Our K-shaped economy is a yawning divide.
00:20:18.400 Last year, we saw the world's very first trillionaire, a modern-day Thomas Edison,
00:20:26.120 at the very same time that millions were struggling to feed their families.
00:20:32.120 Data centers being constructed were turning billionaires into centibillionaires,
00:20:38.200 while simultaneously the average American's electricity bill went up 30% in the last five
00:20:45.640 years. Understandably, people were pissed off and elected Republicans didn't do enough
00:20:53.840 to address their very real pain. So what do we do now? We need to listen and respond.
00:21:05.040 we need to champion economic policies that make a real difference in working people's lives
00:21:13.640 and we need to deal with the consequences texas is blue
00:21:20.520 that that is a hard sentence to utter but texas today at least is blue as we sit here today
00:21:33.100 I am the only statewide elected Republican who remains in Texas. That's not something
00:21:41.780 I ever thought I would say. We can be certain that the Democrats in Austin and in Washington
00:21:50.440 will overshoot. In Texas, they will try to raise taxes dramatically. They may even
00:22:00.540 try to adopt a state income tax or even a California wealth tax. They will try to shut
00:22:08.440 down the energy industry, destroying jobs across our state. They will embrace the radical transgender 1.00
00:22:16.620 agenda. They will persecute those they perceive to be enemies, especially Elon Musk. And in 0.99
00:22:27.340 Washington, they will attack Trump every single day, constantly. Impeachment, hearings, subpoenas,
00:22:38.140 his family, cabinet members, business leaders, open persecution, and non-stop retaliation.
00:22:47.120 Make no mistake, nationally, the radicals are in charge. The communists and the Islamists who 0.71
00:22:55.260 have taken over the Democrat Party have now taken over the United States Congress. 1.00
00:23:01.420 They will be unleashed. Sadly, that means many Americans will be hurt. Texans will be hurt.
00:23:15.620 Their assault on business will make Texas a much less attractive place to start or grow a small
00:23:22.760 business, Texas will become more like California. If they succeed in halting all new investment into
00:23:34.780 AI, the economic results will be dramatic. Over 700 billion dollars in new projects are scheduled
00:23:43.700 to start in the next year. If the Democrats shut them all down, our country will very likely
00:23:52.120 go into a recession. That will suit the Democrats just fine. They'll just blame it all on Donald
00:23:59.680 Trump. In the next two years, we need to do two things. One, fight the madness.
00:24:12.300 I will work with Democrats when they're willing to be reasonable. Last night, I called James
00:24:19.640 Tallarico. I congratulated him on his very impressive victory. It was a pleasant conversation
00:24:24.800 and I told him that I looked forward to working with him to try to benefit Texas. So if there are
00:24:32.260 things like flood relief for the Hill Country or trying to get the Space Academy to Texas,
00:24:38.220 he and I will work together. But if the newly elected radicals push policies that hurt Texas,
00:24:45.800 raising taxes, destroying jobs, opening the border, releasing violent criminals,
00:24:54.280 threatening our children, undermining our constitutional rights. I will fight
00:25:00.420 with all of my strength to defend Texas and to defend the Constitution.
00:25:07.040 And number two, we need to rebuild. Getting behind policies that directly benefit the constituents
00:25:18.120 we lost. There's a complicated story, no doubt, of what happened on election day.
00:25:25.360 But as I see it, the key constituencies we lost were blue-collar voters, what had rightly become
00:25:33.120 the core base of our party. Evangelical Christians who didn't show up with the same numbers
00:25:41.200 and fervor as prior elections. Farmers and ranchers. Tragically, we alienated rural America. 0.80
00:25:52.720 young people who excitedly had voted Republican in 2024 and who shifted hard blew this cycle
00:26:03.280 and of course Hispanics for Hispanics there's a strong overlap with young people and blue-collar
00:26:13.240 workers. In 2024, just two years ago, I was proud to carry Hispanics statewide in Texas by six
00:26:22.460 points. And we swung the Rio Grande Valley red for the first time in a century. It can be done. 0.52
00:26:33.300 But in this election, those Hispanic voters overwhelmingly went back Democrat. 0.78
00:26:43.240 We have got to turn that around.
00:26:45.960 And for young people, we need to be the party of the future.
00:26:50.720 We need to champion policies that expand their future.
00:26:55.440 Our two single biggest legislative accomplishments of the past two years,
00:27:00.140 Trump accounts and the school choice tax credit,
00:27:04.480 which will unleash tens of billions of dollars in new scholarships for kids,
00:27:09.640 are generationally powerful. I was proud to author both of those transformational policies.
00:27:19.940 And yet too few candidates all across the country ran on that record. Too few voters were even aware
00:27:26.880 of what we'd accomplished for their kids and their future. But we need to build. We need to
00:27:33.320 expand to continue creating a new investor class for hundreds of millions of Americans.
00:27:41.540 Help everyone, every American, become an owner. To have real skin in the game. To create new
00:27:51.180 generations of capitalists ready to reject socialism. People voted as they did because
00:28:00.600 they were angry. Ironically, the Democrats that they elected are going to advance policies that
00:28:07.340 will make affordability worse. The Democrats want gas prices higher. They want to ban gasoline
00:28:17.540 engines altogether. Their extreme environmental mandates will drive up food prices and the prices
00:28:25.540 of everything else. But hear me now. We will bring Texas back. I am filled with hope and optimism.
00:28:40.840 Texas will be red again. We have not suddenly become a bunch of tofu-eating, gun-banning,
00:28:51.840 tutu-wearing, pinko commie liberals. That ain't us. Texas is still Texas. We will rebuild as a true
00:29:04.400 blue-collar party, not by embracing socialism, but by being real free-market conservatives.
00:29:13.680 The way we built the Texas economic miracle in the first place.
00:29:19.060 and we will build and rebuild America as well. When the zealots overreach, and they will,
00:29:30.740 we will stand ready to lead in the direction of freedom, of prosperity, of safety and security
00:29:41.460 and common sense. We will return to a new dawn of freedom in America.
00:29:52.820 It is dark right now, but it is always darkest before the dawn and morning is coming. That
00:30:01.280 is my fervent prayer and that is my commitment to you. All right, I want to take a moment. I want
00:30:07.060 to talk to you about the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews. What we're seeing in
00:30:12.260 France should send a chill down the spine of every American. Violence in the streets, a synagogue 0.99
00:30:17.480 ransacked in Paris, Jewish families wondering whether their children will be safe. And you'd
00:30:23.360 better understand something. America is not immune to this hatred. Anti-Semitic attacks are at record
00:30:29.820 levels both in Europe and across our national and local cities, and across our nation and our
00:30:36.560 cities. We cannot wait until the danger gets worse to stand with our Jewish neighbors. 0.71
00:30:42.380 That's why I'm asking you to support the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews. 0.59
00:30:47.120 The fellowship is helping French Jewish families make Aliyah, the move to Israel, providing
00:30:52.760 resettlement assistance and strengthening security at Jewish institutions. They've helped more than
00:30:58.180 10,000 French Jews make Aliyah since 2015. Now your generosity can help families seeking safety
00:31:06.140 and support Jewish communities facing fear and uncertainty.
00:31:10.600 So don't wait for the crisis to reach your neighborhood.
00:31:13.420 Stand with the Jewish people today.
00:31:15.520 Donate now to the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews,
00:31:18.980 because standing against anti-Semitism isn't just about France or Israel.
00:31:23.900 It's right here in the U.S.
00:31:26.320 Visit their website, one word, giveifcj.org.
00:31:31.580 That's giveifcj.org.
00:31:34.820 All right, Senator, so you put out this big statement. You got a lot of feedback. I've been traveling the country. You've been around a lot of people talking about what happened on Tuesday. I think it's pretty clear that this may be one of the easiest problems that we've ever had in politics to fix.
00:31:52.620 The people were blunt about why Republicans lost.
00:31:58.440 They felt like they were not listened to.
00:32:00.220 They felt like they were left behind.
00:32:01.960 They were struggling economically.
00:32:03.840 They didn't care where the stock market was.
00:32:06.240 It was can they put food on the table?
00:32:08.800 Can they send their kids to good schools?
00:32:10.960 Can they have a better life?
00:32:12.400 That's what it really came down to.
00:32:15.040 Well, it may be an easy problem to fix, but it's not a quick problem to fix.
00:32:18.620 This is going to take some time.
00:32:20.300 and i gotta say this the statement we just played is what i put out the day after the election and
00:32:26.580 it was when everything was just raw and we were sort of stunned you and i are now sitting here a
00:32:32.280 couple days later yeah and in texas i've traveled around a bit i've spent much of the day in abilene
00:32:40.360 at dias air force base um i've been in houston and i gotta say what i'm seeing in texas is people
00:32:48.840 that are just stunned they're almost in disbelief look there was rage there was rage that produced
00:32:54.920 this election result but there are also a lot of texans and a lot of americans they were like okay
00:33:00.400 i we knew it was going to be a rough election but holy cow we did not anticipate this
00:33:05.800 you know i went this afternoon in in the best buy i i wear an aura ring by the way
00:33:12.200 i'm going to take a digression you want to hear i'm rarely that persuasive but but one thing i'm
00:33:18.680 pretty proud of myself for being persuasive on yeah i actually convinced heidi to let me
00:33:23.340 use this aura ring and replace my wedding ring with it yeah and you know my wedding that's pretty
00:33:29.400 hard to do by the way so so look my wedding ring was just a simple gold band and and i wanted to
00:33:34.860 have an aura ring and frankly i want an aura ring because i used to wear a fitbit and i i like
00:33:39.460 getting like your sleep data and you're walking and all that but i also like wearing a watch like
00:33:45.120 it's sort of like i like looking at watch and and i don't there was a period where i wore a fitbit
00:33:49.480 and a watch and just looks goofy to wear two things so i'm like all right i don't want to
00:33:52.620 wear a fitbit and watch so i want to wear a watch and so an aura ring like gives you a chance to do
00:33:57.100 all the fitbit stuff but like do it on a ring but i didn't want to wear two rings like i didn't want
00:34:02.060 an aura ring and a wedding ring you're not a big jewelry guy i don't see you blinging like that i
00:34:06.360 think that was a good call by the way yeah look i i am actually under my shirt wearing a gigantic
00:34:11.240 gold medallion like mr t but it actually says cruise it's crusted out in diamonds i've seen it
00:34:16.320 it's like it kind of you you wear it out when you're playing basketball but keep going uh you
00:34:21.120 know it's i i only do it when i'm dunking on you ben yes well that's never happened so that means
00:34:26.640 he doesn't have the gold chain but keep going listen i can dunk on a six foot six foot tall
00:34:32.720 yeah an eight foot rim is really stretching it like i have done it on an eight foot rim 0.98
00:34:37.960 not by much yeah um so anyway my aura ring was not working like the stupid thing is not
00:34:46.600 syncing with my phone it's really irritating because i don't know if you know competitive
00:34:51.800 people which you and i are like i go to sleep and i literally wake up and grab my phone i'm like how
00:34:56.180 did i do did i sleep well yeah you want to see the quality of sleep i'm with you get a good score
00:35:01.820 you're like all right look at that rim deep sleep all right good job yeah and then bad night you're
00:35:06.340 like oh wow that that sucked okay why why did i not sleep well that night and for two weeks it
00:35:11.620 hadn't synced so i went to best buy and and because that's where i bought the aura ring and i'm like 0.97
00:35:16.660 okay can you make it work and they looked at it and they ended up it's broken so the damn thing
00:35:21.520 is broken but fortunately i bought it a year ago and so it's still under warranty so or no way
00:35:26.920 that never works that way well done on that but by the way okay we're taking a complete aside so
00:35:32.260 i had an aura ring before but as you know i play hoops twice a week yeah and my left ring finger i
00:35:40.160 keep jamming it's like the one finger out of 10 that when i play hoops i have jammed this like
00:35:46.280 30 times and so my knuckles just swelled up because you keep jamming it gets bigger and so
00:35:52.960 i had a ring that i could no longer get over my damn finger and so there was like two months where
00:35:58.780 i was wearing it as a pinky ring and i felt like joe pesci yeah and i'm like do you think i'm funny 0.96
00:36:04.040 i am usual what about me is funny and i got tired of wearing a pinky ring because i'm not a mobster
00:36:09.540 so i wanted a new ring irritatingly enough aura does not have a thing like if your ring no longer
00:36:16.600 fits they won't let you trade in for a bigger one yeah so these things are like 500 bucks and i'm
00:36:21.980 like okay i'm not buying another damn ring yeah the one that looks like the wedding ring like
00:36:26.800 replaces the gold one it's there you're right it's like 500 bucks yeah so so i'm sitting there 0.94
00:36:32.220 going i don't want to buy a new one i'm hate wearing a pinky ring and so what i ended up
00:36:35.500 doing last christmas is i went to catherine my youngest daughter and i said how would you like
00:36:40.500 an aura ring for christmas she's like oh yeah i'd love it so i gave her my old aura ring which she
00:36:45.640 wears on her index finger and it's it fits you regifted hold on but yeah i regifted but i told
00:36:54.020 her no no i told her this is what i'm wearing got my finger it won't fit i want to buy a bigger one
00:36:59.820 and she's like yeah i would like so i gave her my old one she knew it was my old one and then i was
00:37:04.040 like okay i i could buy my daughter the ring so i bought bought her the ring and i got me the bigger 0.90
00:37:09.060 one and got her the little one but anyway the damn thing broke and the beauty of it is i didn't know 0.79
00:37:13.720 this i actually googled today how long is the warranty in an aura ring and the warranty is a 0.95
00:37:18.360 year because i bought it for christmas you're under the deadline i bought it i think december
00:37:25.180 maybe late november but it's early november so i went in i'm still under the warranty and so i 0.59
00:37:29.860 went into best buy to like hey the damn thing doesn't work and they're actually they're sending
00:37:33.580 me a new one so it's like under warranty they're sending me a brand new one i'm like hot diggity 0.98
00:37:36.840 damn how often does that work and i didn't buy the like extended warranty i just like yeah it's
00:37:41.840 the one-year thing so anyway i went into best buy i literally had three different people come up to 0.97
00:37:49.080 me and they were almost like shell-shocked they're like oh my god what what happened to our state i
00:37:55.720 had one woman who was almost in tears yeah and that's a sentiment and as i said i was up in
00:38:03.340 abilene at dias air force base and there are people that are just like what happened yeah
00:38:08.740 and i get the shock people are just like that they don't understand
00:38:13.980 but more than anything i want to give comfort to our listeners
00:38:18.960 it is always darkest before the dawn that's how i closed the podcast on wednesday yeah it's dark
00:38:28.600 right now it's depressing right now like it sucks i am the only republican statewide elected
00:38:35.100 official in texas that is not i liked it when we were all republican yeah right i i wanted to be
00:38:42.420 the most conservative the strongest republican but i had a lot of friends and colleagues and
00:38:45.640 we were all fighting together for our state like that's how i liked it yeah i believe listen texas
00:38:52.200 is not lost our values are the same who we are are the same and and remember look politics is
00:38:58.820 pendulums so so you can be like oh dear god the country's lost we're all going to die
00:39:04.280 the democrats will overshoot we will bring texas back i give you my word texas will be red again
00:39:12.620 i will i i'm pouring every breath every strength in my body into making that happen and texas
00:39:19.920 and the country will be red again we are going to prevail again we are not going to socialism
00:39:26.480 and you know why because of the men and women who listen to verdict because of the common sense
00:39:32.160 conservative values so be depressed be pissed be angry great but then resolve yourself to go to
00:39:39.780 work because let me be very serious we have a country to say amen amen to that we'll keep doing
00:39:46.940 the show we'll see on the podcast this week download it wherever you get your podcasts
00:39:50.500 and all you guys on the radio thanks for joining us as well don't forget it's verdict with ted
00:39:54.760 Cruz, and we'll see you back here on this radio station
00:39:56.860 next week. Hey, I'm Jack Armstrong.
00:39:59.060 He's Joe Getty. We've been trying to figure out
00:40:00.720 how to describe what is Armstrong and Getty
00:40:02.680 on demand for many years. I'm going to give it a
00:40:04.720 shot. So, most media is either
00:40:06.560 agenda-driven or they're so shallow
00:40:08.500 and boring. You don't learn
00:40:10.580 anything anyway. We try to get to the bottom
00:40:12.660 of the stories that are shaping our worlds
00:40:14.480 and help you understand what's actually
00:40:16.600 happening. So, give it a try sometime.
00:40:18.720 Entertaining and you learn something? Where do I tune in?
00:40:20.780 Listen to Armstrong and Getty on demand
00:40:22.460 on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts,
00:40:24.740 or wherever you get your podcasts.

00:40:31.440 The 2026 season is underway, and we are loving football on TV.
00:40:35.700 Here's what you can expect from the podcast in our second season.
00:40:38.600 I would suggest for these preseason games,
00:40:40.900 I think they should do what they do on the NFL draft. 0.87
00:40:44.800 You know, when coverage of the NFL draft is basically for moms,
00:40:47.620 and they're just like, hey, he has a dog named Spark.
00:40:53.480 Listen to NFL Cover Zero on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts,
