00:00:00.000 This is an iHeart Podcast.
00:00:02.560 Guaranteed human.
00:00:04.580 Welcome in his verdict with Senator Ted Cruz.
00:00:07.160 Ben Ferguson with you on this day after Thanksgiving.
00:00:10.060 Senator, a lot of people driving home today
00:00:12.480 seeing gas prices hit these numbers that they're not liking,
00:00:16.460 even though the administration wants you to believe
00:00:18.060 this is really low right now.
00:00:20.440 And then there's another question, and that is,
00:00:23.300 when do we start putting oil back
00:00:25.320 into our strategic petroleum reserves?
00:00:27.760 The Biden energy advisor was asked about this,
00:00:31.360 and his answer was pretty shocking.
00:00:34.020 Take a listen.
00:00:34.740 Well, okay, so a couple of things.
00:00:38.540 Number one, China lockdowns and the Fed raising rates
00:00:44.120 and trying to orchestrate maybe a slowdown at least,
00:00:48.620 whether it's a recession or not,
00:00:50.220 those aren't the greatest ways to lower the price of oil.
00:00:53.120 Plus, we've been tapping the SPR,
00:00:55.380 which a lot of people criticize,
00:00:57.640 especially if we're down below $80.
00:00:59.780 We're not today.
00:01:00.360 We're back up.
00:01:01.400 But definitely time to end that.
00:01:03.140 Would you start buying?
00:01:04.200 When would you start buying back the oil
00:01:06.360 to try to replenish that?
00:01:07.700 What kind of price would we be talking about, Amos?
00:01:10.360 Now, before the White House responds,
00:01:11.980 Senator, let's just set the stage here
00:01:13.720 on the strategic oil reserves
00:01:14.900 so people understand the abuse here.
00:01:16.960 The president decided he's got a problem.
00:01:19.920 Democrats were screaming about the problem.
00:01:22.040 If the price was too high on Election Day,
00:01:24.260 they thought they would lose, obviously,
00:01:25.620 the House and the Senate,
00:01:26.420 and it would be a red wave.
00:01:28.340 They decided to take the strategic oil reserves
00:01:30.200 and dump a million,
00:01:31.260 then two million barrels a day into the marketplace
00:01:33.500 to artificially lower the price.
00:01:36.740 You heard CNBC say,
00:01:38.080 a lot of people think this was not
00:01:39.500 how the strategic oil reserves must be used,
00:01:41.280 that this was a terrible decision,
00:01:42.800 that this was playing politics.
00:01:44.780 But not only that,
00:01:45.920 now to replenish that oil,
00:01:47.480 it's going to be a very high price.
00:01:51.320 Well, as you're driving home
00:01:53.420 from Thanksgiving today,
00:01:54.580 I will say there's good news and bad news.
00:02:01.400 The good news is that gas prices went down
00:02:06.620 a little bit over the last few months.
00:02:09.320 The bad news is gas prices are going way,
00:02:15.320 way up over the next two years.
00:02:18.320 In fact, it may be that the price you paid
00:02:21.320 to fill up your tank today,
00:02:22.640 it might end up being the lowest price you pay
00:02:24.800 for the next couple of years.
00:02:26.000 Why is that?
00:02:27.120 Because the policies of the Biden administration
00:02:29.540 have waged a relentless war
00:02:31.640 on U.S. oil and gas production.
00:02:34.760 They want gas prices to go up.
00:02:37.360 They want gas prices not just to be
00:02:40.080 $5, $6, $7 a gallon,
00:02:42.540 which is how high it got on the West Coast.
00:02:45.160 They want it to be $8, $9, $10 a gallon.
00:02:48.480 Because what they want to do
00:02:50.300 is they want to make it so painful
00:02:52.160 for you to fill your tank
00:02:53.480 that you sell your SUV,
00:02:56.480 you sell your minivan,
00:02:57.760 you sell your truck,
00:02:59.200 and you buy a little Prius
00:03:00.820 and zip along.
00:03:02.200 And their view is
00:03:04.080 the more burden they put on you,
00:03:06.160 they'll force you to comply.
00:03:07.920 Now, the Strategic Petroleum Reserve
00:03:11.340 was established
00:03:13.320 to protect our national security interests
00:03:15.920 so that if we're at a time of war
00:03:18.040 and our supply of oil gets cut off,
00:03:20.640 and it was also established at a time
00:03:22.080 when we were very energy dependent
00:03:24.020 and needed to import oil,
00:03:25.560 that our enemies couldn't cut off oil
00:03:27.580 and cripple our economy.
00:03:30.240 So it's there for national security
00:03:32.260 to protect us.
00:03:33.040 Now, the SPR, Strategic Petroleum Reserve,
00:03:36.780 in some way should be renamed
00:03:38.520 the Strategic Political Reserve
00:03:40.540 because Joe Biden has used it
00:03:43.260 simply as a political fund.
00:03:44.580 So moving into the election,
00:03:45.960 despite the fact that they want
00:03:47.300 higher gas prices,
00:03:48.680 there's one time that they don't want
00:03:50.020 higher gas prices,
00:03:51.160 and that is Election Day.
00:03:52.820 And so Biden has released
00:03:55.780 millions and millions of barrels of oil
00:03:58.520 from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve
00:04:00.120 in order to try to lower gasoline prices.
00:04:03.040 It was purely Election Day campaigning.
00:04:06.600 By the way, we know it's Election Day campaigning
00:04:08.540 because we know that when Biden
00:04:10.660 was talking to the Saudis
00:04:11.960 and asking them to delay
00:04:14.160 restricting output,
00:04:15.820 his request was,
00:04:17.740 could you just delay it
00:04:18.860 until after Election Day?
00:04:20.000 So we're past Election Day now.
00:04:22.460 He's perfectly fine
00:04:23.560 with gas prices going up.
00:04:25.460 And the degree to which
00:04:27.700 they politically manipulated this
00:04:30.680 is stunning.
00:04:33.100 Now, here's something
00:04:34.500 on top of all of this.
00:04:36.440 Biden is now talking about
00:04:38.360 refilling the SPR
00:04:41.100 when oil hits $75 a barrel.
00:04:45.980 Yeah, let's play that for people
00:04:47.500 so that they can hear
00:04:48.480 the White House's energy advisor
00:04:50.440 telling the world
00:04:51.860 what price he needs
00:04:52.940 to start buying oil again
00:04:54.320 to replenish
00:04:55.200 what we just put out in the market
00:04:56.800 to artificially
00:04:57.720 decrease the price
00:04:59.200 of a gallon of gas
00:04:59.880 to pump
00:05:00.280 so that they could get re-elected
00:05:01.520 on Election Day
00:05:02.160 in the midterms.
00:05:03.220 So we agree with you.
00:05:05.220 Look, we've been tapping the SPR
00:05:07.700 and I don't think
00:05:08.200 there's much criticism today
00:05:09.460 for what we've done.
00:05:10.620 That was a critical part.
00:05:12.980 The releases from the SPR
00:05:14.700 were a critical part
00:05:15.440 of bringing prices down
00:05:16.300 when we did them.
00:05:16.900 Just imagine if we had
00:05:18.540 not increased supply
00:05:20.340 by a million barrels a day.
00:05:21.680 But today,
00:05:22.360 we have to be really opportunistic
00:05:24.880 and look at the market
00:05:26.300 and where it is
00:05:27.120 to see if it makes sense
00:05:28.440 to do continued SPR releases.
00:05:30.820 The president would like
00:05:32.180 to replenish the SPR
00:05:33.840 in full
00:05:34.300 of what we released,
00:05:35.780 so an additional
00:05:36.440 180 to 200 million barrels.
00:05:38.540 And I think when prices
00:05:39.660 start reaching
00:05:40.260 towards that $70 mark,
00:05:42.080 that's when we're probably
00:05:43.300 going to be looking at
00:05:44.820 somewhere around that range
00:05:46.880 of 70, 72, 73,
00:05:48.940 or maybe a little bit
00:05:49.600 below that,
00:05:50.800 we'll look to immediately
00:05:52.980 begin to increase
00:05:54.120 and to repurchase oil
00:05:57.480 into the SPR.
00:05:58.780 And that's because
00:05:59.260 we need to have
00:06:00.300 an SPR that is full
00:06:02.440 than it is today
00:06:03.240 for national security
00:06:04.560 and economic emergencies
00:06:06.080 in the future.
00:06:07.240 We still have 400 million barrels.
00:06:08.900 That's a lot of barrels.
00:06:09.640 We still can manage
00:06:10.700 any emergency.
00:06:12.100 But looking into the future,
00:06:13.460 when prices come down
00:06:14.600 into that $70 range,
00:06:16.180 we're going to look
00:06:16.600 to be buyers in the market.
00:06:19.360 It's weird to tell people
00:06:20.700 your price, isn't it?
00:06:21.720 I mean, if this is about
00:06:22.500 national security,
00:06:23.360 as you just mentioned,
00:06:24.080 and not politics,
00:06:25.660 doesn't that seem odd
00:06:26.740 for the White House
00:06:27.380 to just throw this out there
00:06:28.740 of like, here's our price?
00:06:30.920 So it is weird,
00:06:32.120 but you need to understand
00:06:33.280 Democrats don't care
00:06:34.120 about national security.
00:06:35.340 It's not a priority for them.
00:06:37.020 This is purely politics.
00:06:38.640 I have to admit,
00:06:39.440 my favorite part of his answer
00:06:40.600 is he says,
00:06:41.400 well, no one's criticizing us now.
00:06:43.460 No, that's not accurate.
00:06:45.200 Everyone knows
00:06:45.860 you're obviously playing politics,
00:06:47.720 trying to engage
00:06:48.500 in electioneering
00:06:49.340 to lower gas prices,
00:06:50.920 not on an ongoing basis,
00:06:53.020 but for a brief moment in time,
00:06:55.540 right when people go to the polls.
00:06:57.520 You know, they're ready to stop now
00:06:58.960 because election day is over,
00:07:00.300 so let's get those gas prices up.
00:07:02.320 That's what Democrats want.
00:07:03.660 They want you to pay more.
00:07:05.400 And, you know, it's interesting.
00:07:06.520 So the price he gave was $70, $72, $73.
00:07:10.300 He's gone a little cheaper
00:07:11.840 than Biden was with the Saudis
00:07:14.040 when Biden was desperately negotiating
00:07:16.180 with the Saudis several months ago.
00:07:18.300 He told the Saudis,
00:07:20.320 if you don't announce
00:07:21.700 that you're restricting output,
00:07:24.180 I will promise to fill the SPR at $75.
00:07:27.980 That was the price he promised them
00:07:29.440 because they claimed,
00:07:30.920 well, we're going to do this
00:07:31.960 because we're concerned
00:07:32.760 that the price will fall too low.
00:07:34.580 And he said, well, I'll give you a price floor.
00:07:37.440 At $75, I promise to buy.
00:07:39.840 And the Saudis told him to go pound sand
00:07:41.900 because what Democrats have done
00:07:44.280 on foreign policy
00:07:45.300 is alienated all of our friends and allies
00:07:47.520 and empowered our enemies.
00:07:48.880 And so Saudi Arabia
00:07:50.480 is a very important ally to America,
00:07:52.560 but the Biden administration
00:07:54.480 hates the Saudis
00:07:55.620 because they're in bed with Iran.
00:07:57.780 Iran is led by a theocratic lunatic
00:08:00.560 who regularly chants
00:08:02.560 death to America and death to Israel.
00:08:04.340 And the Biden administration's response to that
00:08:06.720 is they want to send them
00:08:07.480 hundreds of billions of dollars
00:08:08.560 and facilitate the Ayatollah
00:08:10.180 getting nuclear weapons.
00:08:11.160 And the chief counterpoint
00:08:13.400 to Iran is Saudi Arabia.
00:08:15.480 And so the Biden administration
00:08:16.980 has undermined and insulted
00:08:18.340 the Saudis at every turn.
00:08:20.200 So when they asked them,
00:08:21.600 they said they'd set up a price floor.
00:08:24.000 The Saudis said pound sand.
00:08:25.160 Now, here's the interesting thing, Ben,
00:08:27.080 that shows that the Democrats
00:08:28.880 don't really care about national security
00:08:30.460 and they don't care about the taxpayers either.
00:08:33.240 So you just heard Biden's energy advisor
00:08:35.980 admit that the 200 million barrels of oil
00:08:39.240 that they've released
00:08:41.320 in order to try to buy gas prices down
00:08:43.360 right before Election Day,
00:08:44.400 that it makes us more vulnerable.
00:08:45.560 He said we need to fill it.
00:08:46.980 Under Biden, we're at the lowest level
00:08:49.080 in decades.
00:08:51.240 But here's the amazing thing
00:08:53.060 that Democrats almost never address.
00:08:56.700 In 2020, which was just two years ago,
00:08:58.920 oil was a lot cheaper.
00:09:03.320 It was $24 a barrel, $24 a barrel.
00:09:07.440 So Donald Trump issued an order
00:09:10.260 to fill the SPR to full capacity.
00:09:13.520 Now, that order made a lot of sense.
00:09:16.580 At $24 a barrel, that made a ton of sense.
00:09:19.780 And you know what happened?
00:09:21.500 Democrats in Congress blocked it.
00:09:24.080 They said, no, do not fill the SPR
00:09:27.920 at $24 a barrel.
00:09:29.740 So now Democrats are saying
00:09:32.000 fill it at $70 or $75 a barrel.
00:09:34.840 They don't care about the taxpayers.
00:09:37.000 It is all politics for the Democrats.
00:09:39.520 And it would have been three to one
00:09:40.820 just to put it in perspective.
00:09:42.060 I mean, literally the price
00:09:43.700 that they're saying is a good price now
00:09:45.360 to fill the strategic oil reserves
00:09:46.600 are saying what?
00:09:47.160 So let's just round it $75.
00:09:48.380 At $24 a barrel,
00:09:51.760 you could have bought three barrels of oil
00:09:53.240 for the same price as one
00:09:54.800 at their, quote, ideal price now.
00:09:56.580 And the only reason why they blocked
00:09:58.220 Donald Trump back then
00:09:59.260 is because of politics.
00:10:00.580 There was no other reason to block them
00:10:02.520 except they said Donald Trump wants it.
00:10:04.440 So we say no.
00:10:05.380 The White House press secretary
00:10:06.480 was asked about this.
00:10:08.080 Why replenishing the reserves
00:10:09.480 at that price is a good deal,
00:10:11.300 $75 a barrel now,
00:10:13.320 when buying it at $24 a barrel
00:10:15.460 was a bad deal just two years ago.
00:10:17.700 And she said, well, back in 2020,
00:10:19.480 when Congress was debating funding
00:10:21.520 for replenishing the SPR,
00:10:23.840 Democrats blocked it saying
00:10:25.100 it was a bailout for, quote, big oil.
00:10:28.640 Why is it good for taxpayers now?
00:10:30.140 She says, look, it was a different time.
00:10:32.520 It was not the same situation
00:10:34.100 that we're in currently.
00:10:35.700 The reserve was close
00:10:36.840 to full capacity at the time.
00:10:38.400 So there is no reason
00:10:40.020 to make that type of repurchase.
00:10:42.680 That's a response.
00:10:44.580 Ben, that's just stunning.
00:10:45.780 And look, she's right.
00:10:47.300 It was a different time.
00:10:48.400 It was a time when Democrats
00:10:49.580 were playing politics
00:10:50.560 to oppose Trump and Republicans.
00:10:52.200 Now Democrats are playing politics
00:10:54.240 to try to manipulate elections.
00:10:55.780 But, you know, I just did some quick math
00:10:58.460 on the calculator on my iPhone.
00:11:00.960 So the difference between $75
00:11:02.320 and $24 a barrel,
00:11:04.180 that's $51 a barrel.
00:11:07.240 $51 a barrel times 200 million barrels
00:11:12.000 is $1.2 billion.
00:11:17.160 What the Democrats did
00:11:18.700 is blocked filling the SPR
00:11:22.700 at a time when we could have had it
00:11:24.740 at record low prices.
00:11:26.280 And as a consequence now,
00:11:28.280 they want to spend
00:11:29.260 $10.2 billion taxpayer dollars
00:11:33.080 to fill it at three times
00:11:34.840 as high a price
00:11:35.740 because, A,
00:11:37.640 their horrible energy policies
00:11:39.600 have driven the price of oil
00:11:41.220 and the price of gas
00:11:42.200 to record highs,
00:11:43.460 but, B,
00:11:45.020 because they've also manipulated
00:11:47.220 the SPR for politics.
00:11:49.140 And it...
00:11:50.520 There have been
00:11:52.160 few more revealing moments
00:11:54.140 than when Biden asked the Saudis
00:11:57.020 delay your actions
00:11:58.780 until right after Election Day.
00:12:00.480 He didn't even say
00:12:01.120 the end of the year.
00:12:01.840 He said
00:12:03.660 right after Election Day.
00:12:06.060 So Joe Biden right now,
00:12:08.100 green light,
00:12:09.620 raise it sky high
00:12:11.200 because the Green New Deal radicals,
00:12:13.920 they want gasoline sky high.
00:12:16.360 That is their intended outcome.
00:12:19.180 Senator,
00:12:19.760 I want to go into the media
00:12:20.920 and how they're covering this,
00:12:22.060 but before we get to that,
00:12:22.960 I want to tell everybody
00:12:23.680 about our amazing sponsor,
00:12:25.180 Patriot Mobile.
00:12:26.120 If you've got a cell phone
00:12:27.180 and 99% of Americans do,
00:12:29.420 how would you like to know
00:12:30.660 that with every phone call
00:12:31.840 you make,
00:12:32.580 you're supporting conservative causes?
00:12:35.000 Well, that's what Patriot Mobile does.
00:12:36.680 And they use the same cell towers
00:12:38.420 that you're on right now,
00:12:39.480 meaning you get the same exact coverage
00:12:41.560 that you're getting right now.
00:12:43.860 Patriot Mobile is America's
00:12:45.240 only Christian conservative
00:12:46.660 mobile phone provider.
00:12:48.600 They are a force
00:12:49.540 for conservative values.
00:12:51.360 Why?
00:12:51.840 Because they take a portion
00:12:52.860 of every bill that you pay
00:12:54.320 and they fund conservative causes,
00:12:56.900 candidates,
00:12:57.320 and organizations
00:12:58.040 that believe
00:12:59.280 in the sanctity of life,
00:13:01.160 freedom of speech,
00:13:02.560 and the Second Amendment,
00:13:03.960 and they're winning.
00:13:04.900 If you're ready
00:13:06.020 to have your dollars matter
00:13:07.820 when you're paying a bill,
00:13:09.360 switch to Patriot Mobile.
00:13:11.240 They can save you money
00:13:12.620 over what you're paying right now.
00:13:14.500 They can save you
00:13:15.300 and your family money,
00:13:16.300 and they even can save
00:13:17.680 your business
00:13:18.420 or small business money
00:13:19.480 because they have
00:13:20.100 an entire section
00:13:21.180 of the business
00:13:21.640 that's just dedicated
00:13:22.600 to businesses.
00:13:24.060 They offer the same
00:13:25.240 nationwide coverage
00:13:26.080 as all the other major carriers,
00:13:28.260 but the difference is
00:13:29.220 you actually get to stand up
00:13:31.180 for what you believe in
00:13:32.120 every time you pay that bill.
00:13:34.060 So go online
00:13:34.660 to PatriotMobile.com
00:13:37.360 slash verdict.
00:13:39.580 PatriotMobile.com
00:13:41.340 slash verdict.
00:13:42.600 You'll get free activation
00:13:43.800 and other major offers,
00:13:45.680 and you can call them.
00:13:47.200 972-PATRIOT.
00:13:49.000 That's 972-PATRIOT.
00:13:51.660 Use the promo code VERDICT.
00:13:53.080 You mentioned the prices
00:13:56.100 and this administration
00:13:57.640 obviously saying
00:13:58.800 wait until right after
00:14:00.040 the election
00:14:00.560 to reduce your production.
00:14:03.200 There's also that
00:14:04.440 lingering question out there.
00:14:06.100 Yes, we don't have
00:14:07.020 control of the Senate.
00:14:08.620 Will there be any type
00:14:09.740 of investigation, though,
00:14:11.260 into our strategic
00:14:12.220 oil reserves,
00:14:12.960 filling that tanker,
00:14:14.400 going to this company
00:14:16.520 that Hunter Biden,
00:14:18.420 based on their,
00:14:19.220 at least on the company sheets,
00:14:21.220 show that he still
00:14:22.620 has ownership in?
00:14:24.020 But even if he doesn't
00:14:25.240 have ownership,
00:14:26.040 how is it that
00:14:26.780 when our strategic
00:14:27.460 oil reserves were released,
00:14:28.500 some of that oil
00:14:29.060 was going to a company
00:14:30.240 that the Biden family
00:14:32.340 had a vested interest in
00:14:34.480 when it was supposed
00:14:35.100 to be lowering the price
00:14:36.020 in this country?
00:14:36.820 Is that something
00:14:38.000 that Republicans
00:14:38.800 can still look into
00:14:39.980 when we have
00:14:40.760 this new Congress?
00:14:42.520 Well, it is,
00:14:43.480 and it's something
00:14:44.020 that I've got
00:14:44.560 a high level of confidence
00:14:45.620 the House will look into.
00:14:47.840 If you look at
00:14:48.760 what Comer said
00:14:49.560 in this press conference
00:14:50.420 and Jim Jordan,
00:14:51.760 they are appropriately
00:14:53.260 focusing on evidence
00:14:55.000 of corruption of Joe Biden.
00:14:56.980 They're not getting
00:14:57.860 distracted by DOJ
00:14:59.840 trying to focus
00:15:01.100 on Hunter Biden's
00:15:02.620 drug use.
00:15:03.320 They're instead focused
00:15:04.180 on was there corruption
00:15:06.120 at the highest level
00:15:06.980 of government?
00:15:07.640 And this is obviously
00:15:08.440 part of it,
00:15:09.120 that if you have
00:15:10.020 official decisions
00:15:11.340 selling millions
00:15:13.120 of barrels of oil
00:15:14.140 to a company
00:15:14.880 that directly profits
00:15:16.440 Biden's family,
00:15:17.360 that raises
00:15:18.800 very serious issues
00:15:20.240 of corruption.
00:15:20.860 I'm confident
00:15:21.340 the House
00:15:21.840 will examine
00:15:23.100 that closely.
00:15:24.300 Canadian women
00:15:25.120 are looking for more,
00:15:26.440 more out of themselves,
00:15:27.520 their businesses,
00:15:28.460 their elected leaders,
00:15:29.420 and the world around them.
00:15:30.620 And that's why
00:15:31.100 we're thrilled
00:15:31.600 to introduce
00:15:32.260 the Honest Talk podcast.
00:15:34.380 I'm Jennifer Stewart.
00:15:35.560 And I'm Catherine Clark.
00:15:36.780 And in this podcast,
00:15:37.940 we interview Canada's
00:15:38.900 most inspiring women,
00:15:40.400 entrepreneurs,
00:15:41.240 artists,
00:15:41.900 athletes,
00:15:42.500 politicians,
00:15:43.220 and newsmakers,
00:15:44.100 all at different stages
00:15:45.140 of their journey.
00:15:45.980 So if you're looking
00:15:47.300 to connect,
00:15:48.100 then we hope
00:15:48.520 you'll join us.
00:15:49.520 Listen to the
00:15:49.940 Honest Talk podcast
00:15:50.860 on iHeartRadio
00:15:51.900 or wherever you
00:15:52.640 listen to your podcasts.
00:15:55.100 I want to move
00:15:55.960 to another issue,
00:15:57.000 and this is one of those
00:15:57.980 when I love doing verdict
00:15:59.000 because we get to go
00:16:00.080 really deep
00:16:01.480 into a story
00:16:02.600 that is,
00:16:03.160 I think,
00:16:03.960 very important,
00:16:05.340 and it comes
00:16:06.040 from the legal field.
00:16:07.620 You're obviously a lawyer.
00:16:09.180 I want to get your opinion
00:16:10.300 on this new piece
00:16:11.380 of news
00:16:11.860 that we just got this week
00:16:13.060 that the American Bar Association
00:16:14.800 has now voted
00:16:16.420 to end law school's
00:16:18.780 LSAT requirements
00:16:20.060 in the year 2025.
00:16:23.000 This doesn't just apply
00:16:24.040 to the LSAT,
00:16:24.940 but to all potential
00:16:26.240 admissions testing.
00:16:28.380 It wasn't long ago
00:16:29.680 when they tried to do this
00:16:30.600 in November 2021
00:16:31.500 that they started accepting
00:16:32.900 the GRE alongside the LSAT,
00:16:35.700 and now it looks like
00:16:36.640 they are eradicating
00:16:38.080 all entrance testing
00:16:39.760 altogether.
00:16:40.760 this is a rule change
00:16:43.480 that doesn't make
00:16:44.180 any sense to me.
00:16:46.400 Well,
00:16:47.100 it does make sense,
00:16:48.620 but not in a way
00:16:49.340 that will make you
00:16:50.220 remotely happy
00:16:51.080 or encouraged,
00:16:52.020 which is the modern left
00:16:53.860 are racists.
00:16:56.060 They are dedicated,
00:16:58.280 passionately dedicated,
00:16:59.640 to discriminating
00:17:01.340 based on race.
00:17:02.820 They believe
00:17:03.960 in racial discrimination.
00:17:05.520 my latest book,
00:17:08.340 Justice Corrupted,
00:17:09.300 How the Left
00:17:09.800 Has Weaponized
00:17:10.460 the Legal System.
00:17:11.260 There's an entire chapter
00:17:12.320 on critical race theory.
00:17:14.140 There's an entire chapter
00:17:15.180 on affirmative action.
00:17:16.900 It lays out the history
00:17:18.940 of how Democrats
00:17:20.500 believe there is virtue
00:17:22.260 in discriminating
00:17:24.640 against oppressors,
00:17:26.140 by which they mean
00:17:27.160 white people,
00:17:28.020 although they also,
00:17:29.240 oddly enough,
00:17:30.720 embrace discriminating
00:17:32.060 against Asian Americans
00:17:33.340 who are not
00:17:34.100 in their taxonomy
00:17:35.880 oppressors,
00:17:36.820 but they've done
00:17:38.200 too well,
00:17:38.960 and if you've done
00:17:39.640 too well,
00:17:41.340 you know,
00:17:41.560 it's like Harrison
00:17:42.260 Bergeron,
00:17:43.860 they're going to put
00:17:44.900 weights on you
00:17:46.660 and they're going
00:17:47.400 to discriminate
00:17:47.940 against you.
00:17:48.840 And so,
00:17:49.600 what is this about?
00:17:51.380 And I'll tell you
00:17:51.880 that the announcement
00:17:52.860 that the ABA committee
00:17:54.700 recommended eliminating
00:17:56.280 the requirement
00:17:57.040 of the LSAT
00:17:58.020 is connected
00:17:58.620 to another story
00:17:59.500 that broke
00:17:59.920 at the same time,
00:18:01.380 which is Yale Law School
00:18:02.780 announced that
00:18:04.340 it was going
00:18:05.000 to stop participating
00:18:06.220 in the U.S. News
00:18:07.240 and World Report
00:18:07.980 rankings of law schools.
00:18:09.580 Now,
00:18:09.980 that was an odd
00:18:10.900 announcement.
00:18:11.580 Why?
00:18:11.920 Because Yale Law School
00:18:12.760 has been number one
00:18:13.880 in the U.S. News
00:18:15.140 and World Reports
00:18:15.780 rankings for years.
00:18:17.300 It's consistently
00:18:18.060 number one
00:18:18.780 over and over
00:18:19.280 and over again.
00:18:21.120 Shortly thereafter,
00:18:23.060 Harvard Law School,
00:18:24.120 which is often
00:18:25.260 number two
00:18:25.920 in those rankings,
00:18:27.500 announced it was going
00:18:28.820 to stop participating
00:18:29.840 as well.
00:18:30.340 Now,
00:18:31.700 why are these
00:18:32.520 all connected?
00:18:34.000 Because all of these
00:18:35.560 flow from the Supreme Court's
00:18:37.620 case that is currently pending,
00:18:40.020 challenging affirmative action
00:18:41.680 in law schools.
00:18:42.540 And there's a case
00:18:43.340 against Harvard Law School
00:18:44.980 and there's a case
00:18:46.320 against University of North Carolina
00:18:48.220 Chapel Hill.
00:18:48.940 One is a private institution,
00:18:50.360 one is a government institution.
00:18:51.840 It's challenging
00:18:52.720 their explicit
00:18:54.300 racial discrimination.
00:18:55.420 And Harvard
00:18:57.240 and Yale
00:18:57.840 and lots of schools
00:18:58.960 actively discriminate
00:19:00.880 against Asian Americans
00:19:02.100 because Asian Americans
00:19:04.280 in their determination
00:19:05.200 are too successful.
00:19:06.420 They do too well
00:19:07.100 academically.
00:19:07.900 And so,
00:19:08.720 just like Harvard
00:19:09.660 in the 1950s
00:19:10.760 had Jewish quotas
00:19:11.760 because without the quotas
00:19:13.480 from their racist perspective,
00:19:14.900 you'd have too many Jews.
00:19:16.720 Well,
00:19:17.240 now,
00:19:17.780 from their left-wing
00:19:18.740 racist perspective,
00:19:19.860 without the racial quotas,
00:19:21.020 you'd have too many Asians.
00:19:22.140 So,
00:19:22.740 let's discriminate
00:19:23.340 against them.
00:19:24.040 Most observers,
00:19:26.520 myself included,
00:19:28.200 believe the Supreme Court
00:19:29.640 is going to rule
00:19:30.460 against the universities
00:19:31.600 and is going to rule
00:19:32.720 that it is illegal
00:19:34.040 to discriminate
00:19:35.400 based on race,
00:19:36.360 which is going to mean
00:19:37.200 their affirmative action policies
00:19:38.840 where they're eagerly
00:19:39.960 and aggressively discriminating
00:19:41.920 are going to be illegal.
00:19:44.000 This decision on the LSAT
00:19:45.620 is a direct response to that.
00:19:46.980 Why is that?
00:19:48.560 Because,
00:19:49.420 part of the reason
00:19:50.020 you can make this case
00:19:51.340 that they're discriminating
00:19:52.720 against Asian Americans
00:19:53.720 is you look at
00:19:55.440 the LSAT scores
00:19:56.900 and the GPAs
00:19:57.800 of Asian American applicants
00:19:58.960 and they are
00:19:59.820 substantially higher
00:20:01.660 than many of the individuals,
00:20:04.440 in particular,
00:20:05.220 Hispanics and African Americans
00:20:06.500 that they admit
00:20:07.240 who have lower LSATs
00:20:08.540 and lower GPAs,
00:20:09.520 but they admit them
00:20:10.200 based on affirmative action.
00:20:11.720 So,
00:20:11.960 here's what the law schools
00:20:12.720 are trying to do.
00:20:14.120 Get rid
00:20:14.980 of the LSAT
00:20:16.480 so you don't have
00:20:17.860 an objective score
00:20:18.780 because the entire reason
00:20:21.200 and what does
00:20:22.580 U.S. News and World Report
00:20:23.580 have to do with it?
00:20:24.880 Well,
00:20:26.200 in the rankings
00:20:26.940 on U.S. News and World Report,
00:20:29.580 they put significant weighting,
00:20:31.620 I think it's about 20%
00:20:32.800 if I remember correctly,
00:20:34.380 on the average LSAT score
00:20:36.420 of your students,
00:20:38.680 which means
00:20:40.100 if, let's say,
00:20:40.920 Yale suddenly started saying
00:20:42.480 we're not taking the LSAT
00:20:43.780 and the average LSAT score,
00:20:45.440 so they did badly on that,
00:20:46.640 Yale's ranking would drop.
00:20:48.700 And you've got to understand,
00:20:50.320 these racist leftists
00:20:51.480 are not actually willing
00:20:52.540 to diminish
00:20:54.460 their self-declared prestige.
00:20:57.200 So,
00:20:57.700 they're pulling out
00:20:58.380 of the rankings
00:20:59.060 so that they don't have
00:21:01.140 to pay a price
00:21:02.120 for then eliminating
00:21:03.460 the LSAT
00:21:04.240 and all of this
00:21:06.080 is designed
00:21:06.760 so they can say
00:21:07.520 our admissions process,
00:21:09.240 no, no, no, no,
00:21:09.780 we don't look
00:21:10.400 at objective numbers.
00:21:11.720 We just look
00:21:12.860 at a holistic assessment
00:21:14.620 of the total
00:21:16.620 student
00:21:17.080 and wonder of wonder
00:21:18.340 we end up rejecting
00:21:19.960 the same Asian Americans
00:21:21.160 because we don't want
00:21:21.800 too many of them,
00:21:22.520 that's their racist view,
00:21:24.440 and we end up admitting
00:21:25.780 the other students
00:21:27.400 who we want,
00:21:28.940 this is all about
00:21:30.240 affirmative action
00:21:31.080 and they're running away
00:21:32.220 from any objective
00:21:33.800 indicia
00:21:34.520 of merit
00:21:36.120 or academic success.
00:21:38.520 Who are the biggest losers
00:21:39.900 here
00:21:40.420 and the biggest winners
00:21:41.260 because you mentioned
00:21:42.220 obviously Asian Americans
00:21:43.520 and they're going
00:21:45.100 to basically
00:21:45.740 straight up
00:21:46.740 be racist
00:21:47.240 against them
00:21:47.920 but who else
00:21:48.800 does this hurt
00:21:49.880 in the admissions process
00:21:51.140 if they continue
00:21:52.520 to move down
00:21:53.060 this path?
00:21:54.280 Well,
00:21:54.820 it hurts people
00:21:55.680 based on merit.
00:21:56.560 So one of the things
00:21:57.280 interestingly enough
00:21:58.020 these schools
00:21:58.440 are not moving away
00:21:59.340 from is legacy preferences.
00:22:01.760 So you have a leg up
00:22:03.220 on getting into
00:22:03.780 these schools
00:22:04.360 if daddy went there,
00:22:06.260 if mom went there.
00:22:08.000 But if not,
00:22:09.160 listen,
00:22:10.260 I'm an Hispanic guy
00:22:11.520 who went to Princeton
00:22:12.900 and Harvard
00:22:13.420 and mommy and daddy
00:22:14.620 didn't go there.
00:22:15.820 I'm not a legacy.
00:22:17.240 I didn't come from money.
00:22:18.380 In fact,
00:22:18.740 when I went to college
00:22:20.320 my parents had just
00:22:21.680 gone bankrupt.
00:22:22.680 They were in the oil
00:22:23.280 and gas business.
00:22:24.000 We were talking oil and gas.
00:22:25.480 It was the 80s,
00:22:26.420 oil cratered
00:22:27.280 and we lost our home.
00:22:28.820 We lost everything.
00:22:30.560 And so I'm a 17-year-old kid,
00:22:32.880 the son of a Cuban immigrant,
00:22:34.280 doesn't know anybody,
00:22:35.360 has no connections.
00:22:37.280 But I got in,
00:22:38.480 I got into school
00:22:39.380 because I had really good grades
00:22:40.840 in high school
00:22:41.320 and I did really well
00:22:42.080 in the SAT.
00:22:43.400 Which, by the way,
00:22:44.200 is a terrible thing
00:22:45.180 to admit, Ben.
00:22:46.240 You're a much cooler guy
00:22:47.640 who played varsity tennis
00:22:49.560 at Ole Miss.
00:22:50.480 I can promise you,
00:22:52.220 you go to a bar
00:22:53.900 and as a college kid,
00:22:56.280 the worst pickup line
00:22:57.660 on planet Earth is,
00:22:59.200 hey, want to see
00:22:59.740 my SAT score?
00:23:01.040 Yeah, that's just not
00:23:02.560 going to work.
00:23:02.900 Even at Harvard and Yale,
00:23:03.940 I'm not sure
00:23:04.340 that gives you much.
00:23:05.280 It just does,
00:23:05.940 does not work.
00:23:07.000 But it meant
00:23:08.760 that a kid
00:23:10.240 with no connections,
00:23:11.480 with no wealth
00:23:13.540 could get in.
00:23:15.020 And the same thing's true
00:23:16.080 when I went to Harvard
00:23:17.280 that I,
00:23:20.200 that between my grades
00:23:21.600 and my LSAT got in.
00:23:24.460 They want to move away
00:23:25.920 from that
00:23:26.520 and they want to move away
00:23:27.680 from merit.
00:23:28.400 What they want to find also
00:23:29.980 are people who are leftists
00:23:32.440 and woke.
00:23:32.940 So if you go and organize,
00:23:35.320 you know,
00:23:36.300 a transgender protest
00:23:38.020 to shut down corporate America,
00:23:40.860 Yale Law School,
00:23:41.640 here you come, baby.
00:23:42.980 Like, you know,
00:23:43.880 go find,
00:23:44.840 actually,
00:23:45.180 we talked about this
00:23:46.220 a couple of pods ago
00:23:48.540 when we were talking
00:23:50.480 about Sam Bankman-Fried
00:23:51.620 and the direct message
00:23:52.960 he was saying about
00:23:53.940 we do these woke shibboleths
00:23:55.720 because people will like us.
00:23:57.520 Eliminating the LSAT
00:24:00.180 removes one
00:24:02.500 objective differentiator.
00:24:06.760 You know,
00:24:07.340 I remember at the time,
00:24:08.720 so when I was in law school,
00:24:10.720 my roommate
00:24:11.740 and best friend in the world
00:24:13.780 other than Heidi,
00:24:14.520 who is my best, best friend,
00:24:15.680 but my best friend
00:24:16.440 to whom I'm not married
00:24:17.520 is a guy named David Panton.
00:24:19.980 David was my roommate
00:24:21.060 in college,
00:24:22.540 my roommate in law school.
00:24:25.060 And in law school,
00:24:26.480 he was the president
00:24:29.000 of the Harvard Law Review.
00:24:31.480 Barack Obama,
00:24:32.440 you may recall,
00:24:33.160 was the first black president
00:24:34.540 of the Harvard Law Review.
00:24:36.380 David Panton
00:24:37.200 was the second black president
00:24:38.640 of the Harvard Law Review.
00:24:40.200 And David and I
00:24:41.060 were roommates,
00:24:41.680 we were debate partners,
00:24:42.580 and it was interesting
00:24:43.160 at the time.
00:24:43.700 At the time,
00:24:44.240 the LSAT was scored
00:24:45.760 on a 48-point scale,
00:24:48.440 so a perfect score
00:24:49.480 was a 48 at the time.
00:24:51.900 It's kind of a weird scoring,
00:24:53.220 but that's how they did it.
00:24:55.220 At the time,
00:24:56.280 I remember reading
00:24:57.240 a stat
00:24:57.920 that nationally
00:24:59.780 there were fewer
00:25:02.000 than 50 5-0
00:25:03.860 African Americans
00:25:05.420 who had scored
00:25:06.320 40 or above
00:25:07.460 on the LSAT,
00:25:09.000 which David had done.
00:25:11.120 And so I joked,
00:25:12.360 I'm like,
00:25:12.760 David,
00:25:13.100 dude,
00:25:13.860 I'm roommates
00:25:14.640 with 2%
00:25:16.020 of the African Americans
00:25:19.140 who scored above that line.
00:25:20.260 Now,
00:25:20.400 let me say,
00:25:21.040 let me be very clear.
00:25:21.920 I think the fact
00:25:23.920 that you don't have
00:25:24.820 more African American
00:25:25.880 and Hispanic kids
00:25:26.880 scoring much,
00:25:27.680 much higher
00:25:28.080 on those tests
00:25:28.860 is a compelling indictment
00:25:32.420 of our K-12 education system
00:25:34.980 in this country.
00:25:36.140 That there ought to be,
00:25:37.160 there are a lot of
00:25:38.180 really smart,
00:25:39.960 talented minority kids,
00:25:42.100 and many of them
00:25:43.020 are trapped
00:25:43.540 in failing schools.
00:25:44.500 It's one of the reasons
00:25:45.180 I'm so passionate
00:25:46.200 about school choice,
00:25:47.680 because I want to
00:25:48.380 give these kids
00:25:49.240 the chance
00:25:50.300 and opportunities
00:25:51.080 to exceed
00:25:52.060 so that you're seeing
00:25:53.820 hundreds and thousands
00:25:56.700 more African Americans
00:25:58.760 and Hispanics
00:25:59.400 scoring really well
00:26:00.180 on these tests.
00:26:01.140 But,
00:26:01.700 and that stat
00:26:03.260 is also 25 years old too,
00:26:06.160 so the current stats
00:26:07.280 have changed somewhat.
00:26:08.980 That's what
00:26:10.000 the law schools
00:26:11.000 are trying to move away from
00:26:12.380 because rather than address
00:26:13.760 the underlying issues,
00:26:15.360 they embrace discrimination.
00:26:19.000 They believe
00:26:19.740 it is morally virtuous
00:26:21.800 to discriminate,
00:26:23.260 and as you move away
00:26:24.700 from objective
00:26:25.660 indicators of merit,
00:26:28.800 something that people
00:26:29.680 can work hard to achieve,
00:26:31.700 you move instead
00:26:33.080 into subjective,
00:26:34.620 which means you move
00:26:36.000 into the political.
00:26:37.080 This enables also
00:26:38.620 Harvard and Yale
00:26:39.400 and the other schools
00:26:40.340 to go fill their schools
00:26:42.540 with an army of woke leftists
00:26:44.480 who then will go on
00:26:46.280 to all the law firms,
00:26:47.220 will go on
00:26:47.680 to all the investment banks,
00:26:48.940 will go on
00:26:49.420 to corporate America,
00:26:50.400 and will continue
00:26:51.660 to populate
00:26:52.760 the commanding heights
00:26:55.240 of our major institutions.
00:26:57.140 It's going to be interesting
00:26:58.340 to see, Senator,
00:26:59.780 what happens with this
00:27:01.120 because it is,
00:27:01.920 as you said,
00:27:02.620 it's going to have
00:27:03.200 a huge impact on people,
00:27:05.240 and it's going to have
00:27:06.220 a huge impact
00:27:06.920 on who gets
00:27:07.620 into these law schools,
00:27:08.440 and like you said,
00:27:09.100 it all comes down
00:27:09.920 to an issue
00:27:10.280 of basically racism
00:27:11.360 for them.
00:27:12.560 They always scream
00:27:13.540 everybody else to racist,
00:27:14.720 but look at what
00:27:15.340 they're doing right here,
00:27:16.200 and it's a very important
00:27:17.280 thing to keep an eye on.
00:27:18.640 I want to move
00:27:19.580 to one of the best
00:27:20.480 fails of the week,
00:27:22.180 and this deals
00:27:23.360 with CBS News.
00:27:25.320 CBS News Center
00:27:26.600 came out,
00:27:27.620 and they announced
00:27:29.120 that they were going
00:27:30.480 to pause their activity
00:27:31.920 on Twitter.
00:27:33.220 It was moral
00:27:34.360 and fair to them
00:27:35.180 for them to do this.
00:27:36.300 They were trying
00:27:36.960 to lead a train,
00:27:38.340 a bandwagon of people
00:27:39.620 that were going
00:27:40.640 to leave with them.
00:27:41.740 It was Virtue Signaling 101,
00:27:43.540 it was a fail.
00:27:45.140 They announced
00:27:46.040 that they were pausing
00:27:47.100 their activity
00:27:47.780 on Twitter.
00:27:48.880 How big of a screw-up
00:27:50.680 was this?
00:27:51.360 CBS returned to Twitter
00:27:52.880 after bravely leaving
00:27:54.580 for one day,
00:27:56.100 16 hours and 31 minutes,
00:27:58.600 and they came crawling back
00:28:00.060 as no one followed them.
00:28:01.700 Here was their big announcement.
00:28:03.400 And Musk has called
00:28:04.300 for an emergency meeting
00:28:05.300 for all remaining engineers.
00:28:07.580 In light of the uncertainty
00:28:08.500 around Twitter
00:28:09.160 and out of an abundance
00:28:10.180 of caution,
00:28:10.780 CBS News is pausing
00:28:12.820 its activity
00:28:13.500 on the social media site
00:28:14.540 as it continues
00:28:15.640 to monitor the platform,
00:28:17.060 Major.
00:28:17.760 Johnson Vigliotti.
00:28:19.140 I mean, I love this.
00:28:20.460 They're like,
00:28:20.940 we're going to,
00:28:21.840 in light of Elon Musk
00:28:24.120 running Twitter
00:28:24.940 like a company,
00:28:26.500 right,
00:28:26.820 instead of having
00:28:28.240 and actually trying
00:28:29.660 to figure out a way
00:28:30.360 to make money
00:28:30.920 off of a business
00:28:31.600 that's never made money,
00:28:33.140 we're going to pause
00:28:34.560 because we don't like
00:28:35.900 what they're doing,
00:28:36.940 and then they come
00:28:38.220 crawling back.
00:28:39.660 This on top of the fact
00:28:41.180 that CBS News
00:28:43.040 also came out
00:28:44.280 like they were
00:28:44.800 breaking news
00:28:46.000 more than two years
00:28:47.280 after the New York Post
00:28:48.440 broke the news
00:28:49.160 of the Hunter Biden laptop.
00:28:51.840 CBS News,
00:28:52.640 by the way,
00:28:52.960 reported that the laptop
00:28:53.940 now is authentic.
00:28:55.260 It took them more than
00:28:55.920 two years to do this.
00:28:57.560 Just days after
00:28:58.760 the second election,
00:28:59.940 they did,
00:29:00.320 you know,
00:29:01.120 the second election
00:29:01.880 they missed, right?
00:29:02.800 They missed the first one,
00:29:03.740 they missed the second one,
00:29:05.140 the midterms,
00:29:05.800 and now they're like,
00:29:06.460 all right,
00:29:06.720 well,
00:29:06.900 now that we've gotten
00:29:07.680 through the midterms,
00:29:08.580 now that we got
00:29:09.000 through the last presidential,
00:29:10.640 we're going to come out
00:29:12.020 and break news
00:29:13.500 that the Hunter Biden laptop
00:29:15.200 is officially authentic.
00:29:17.720 That's their line.
00:29:19.280 Well,
00:29:19.920 the corporate media
00:29:20.880 is fundamentally corrupt.
00:29:23.340 They are broken.
00:29:24.400 They are damaged
00:29:25.380 and destroyed.
00:29:26.400 So let's focus
00:29:27.780 on the substance
00:29:28.440 of what they said.
00:29:29.580 They said,
00:29:30.240 well,
00:29:30.860 in an abundance of caution,
00:29:32.560 we're going to go
00:29:33.240 off Twitter.
00:29:33.940 Now,
00:29:34.780 they're not being cautious
00:29:35.880 about there's some engineers
00:29:37.140 that are mad.
00:29:37.740 That's not a reason
00:29:38.300 to go off Twitter.
00:29:39.060 Like,
00:29:39.260 what do they care
00:29:39.800 if engineers are yelling
00:29:40.660 at each other
00:29:41.120 or getting fired?
00:29:42.020 They were not protesting
00:29:43.700 the internal management
00:29:45.260 policies at Twitter.
00:29:46.840 They were protesting
00:29:47.880 one thing
00:29:48.480 and one thing only,
00:29:49.900 which is that
00:29:50.440 Elon Musk has said
00:29:51.560 he's going to stop
00:29:52.660 political censorship.
00:29:53.820 And so,
00:29:54.400 for example,
00:29:55.100 he's allowed
00:29:55.700 Jordan Peterson
00:29:56.880 back on Twitter.
00:29:57.740 He's allowed
00:29:58.180 the Babylon Bee
00:29:58.920 back on Twitter.
00:29:59.880 He's allowed
00:30:00.500 Donald Trump
00:30:01.120 back on Twitter,
00:30:02.000 although as of now,
00:30:03.580 Trump hasn't gone
00:30:04.440 back on Twitter,
00:30:05.140 but he's allowed back.
00:30:07.500 And the corporate media,
00:30:09.200 they are so fundamentally
00:30:11.020 damaged
00:30:11.940 that their view is
00:30:14.380 if you do not censor
00:30:17.600 anyone who disagrees
00:30:19.880 with us,
00:30:20.680 we can't handle it.
00:30:22.800 We are fragile
00:30:23.680 little snowflakes
00:30:24.740 and we are going
00:30:25.960 to go hide
00:30:26.880 because not only
00:30:28.780 are we propagandists,
00:30:30.120 not only do we tell
00:30:31.460 a corporate story
00:30:33.060 decided by the corporate
00:30:34.280 head honchos
00:30:34.940 at our media offices,
00:30:36.560 but we're not even
00:30:38.960 prepared to defend
00:30:39.880 the lies we're telling.
00:30:41.140 And if anyone can point out
00:30:42.300 the lies we're telling,
00:30:43.520 we're going to curl up
00:30:44.480 at a ball
00:30:44.900 and hide in the corner.
00:30:47.340 It truly,
00:30:48.680 can you imagine
00:30:49.920 Walter Cronkite
00:30:51.060 saying such a thing?
00:30:53.020 Can you imagine
00:30:54.080 Ted Koppel
00:30:54.920 who hosted Nightline
00:30:56.380 for years?
00:30:56.740 Can you imagine
00:30:57.160 Tim Russert?
00:30:58.360 Like,
00:30:58.560 there used to be
00:31:00.140 journalists
00:31:01.240 and journalists
00:31:03.020 who were not terrified
00:31:04.460 of someone
00:31:05.960 who disagreed
00:31:06.760 with them
00:31:07.180 because they actually
00:31:08.120 knew some facts
00:31:09.000 and they could,
00:31:09.500 and I'm not saying,
00:31:11.180 by the way,
00:31:11.540 those journalists
00:31:12.120 were not biased.
00:31:13.200 There's been journalistic
00:31:14.240 bias for a long time,
00:31:15.520 but journalists
00:31:16.820 didn't used to be
00:31:17.940 complete and utter
00:31:19.080 wusses.
00:31:20.800 And I'm sorry,
00:31:21.760 the corporate media,
00:31:23.540 their reaction,
00:31:24.760 they're running away
00:31:25.940 from free speech.
00:31:27.200 How does anyone
00:31:27.940 that considers
00:31:28.800 themselves a journalist
00:31:30.140 run screaming away
00:31:32.160 from free speech?
00:31:32.980 Now,
00:31:33.200 you noted
00:31:33.620 their,
00:31:34.980 quote,
00:31:35.060 boycott
00:31:35.580 lasted just over a day
00:31:38.020 because no one
00:31:39.180 followed them.
00:31:39.820 And,
00:31:40.040 you know,
00:31:40.460 you're trying to lead
00:31:41.520 a parade
00:31:42.000 and you start marching
00:31:42.920 and swinging your arms
00:31:44.920 wildly
00:31:45.380 and you look behind you
00:31:46.340 and there ain't
00:31:46.600 no one there
00:31:47.160 and it's like,
00:31:47.620 uh-oh.
00:31:48.440 And I will say,
00:31:49.580 there was a tweet
00:31:50.220 I saw online
00:31:51.840 that I retweeted
00:31:52.920 that just made me laugh.
00:31:54.280 It said,
00:31:55.760 Pete Davidson
00:31:56.520 has had girlfriends
00:31:57.480 that lasted longer
00:31:58.720 than CBS News'
00:31:59.880 break from Twitter.
00:32:01.740 And I had a lot
00:32:03.680 of fun with that
00:32:04.340 because that's
00:32:04.900 indisputably true.
00:32:06.620 Our friend,
00:32:07.560 Jesse Waters,
00:32:08.420 over at Waters World,
00:32:09.380 had some fun
00:32:10.080 with CBS News.
00:32:11.460 Finally admitting
00:32:12.260 the Hunter Biden
00:32:12.860 laptop story is real.
00:32:14.000 I just want to play this
00:32:15.160 because the way
00:32:15.920 that he described it
00:32:16.900 for me was like,
00:32:18.160 yep,
00:32:18.460 spot on.
00:32:19.240 Guy is shorthand
00:32:20.240 for 10%
00:32:21.460 held by Hunter
00:32:22.420 for his father.
00:32:23.860 Wait,
00:32:24.520 CBS,
00:32:25.300 you're telling me
00:32:25.880 Hunter's laptop's
00:32:26.800 real now
00:32:27.420 and Joe Biden's
00:32:28.960 the big guy?
00:32:30.160 I thought this was
00:32:31.280 just one big
00:32:32.060 conspiracy theory.
00:32:34.260 Well,
00:32:34.440 Primetime reached out
00:32:35.300 to Leslie Stahl
00:32:36.000 at CBS
00:32:36.420 and asked her
00:32:37.480 if she'd be apologizing
00:32:38.700 to the former president
00:32:39.620 for insisting
00:32:40.620 the laptop
00:32:41.260 couldn't be verified.
00:32:42.240 And we haven't
00:32:44.320 heard back.
00:32:45.540 I'm starting
00:32:46.120 to realize
00:32:46.760 Democrat October
00:32:48.300 surprises are all
00:32:49.280 hoaxes
00:32:49.800 and Republican
00:32:50.420 October surprises
00:32:51.580 are all true.
00:32:52.520 You just have to wait
00:32:53.400 until after the election
00:32:54.660 to find out.
00:32:56.200 And to have a free
00:32:56.880 and fair election,
00:32:57.840 you kind of need
00:32:58.660 to know the truth
00:32:59.280 before the election.
00:33:00.980 That way voters
00:33:01.880 can make an honest
00:33:02.660 assessment
00:33:03.180 and not have any regrets.
00:33:05.120 But let's look
00:33:05.660 at the bright side.
00:33:06.880 If the media
00:33:07.440 didn't bury the laptop,
00:33:09.020 Joe Biden would have
00:33:09.800 never been able
00:33:10.420 to give his granddaughter
00:33:11.360 the wedding of her dreams.
00:33:13.160 That's true, right, Senator?
00:33:14.600 I mean, at least
00:33:14.980 they got to have
00:33:15.480 a great wedding
00:33:16.100 at the White House
00:33:16.820 this week.
00:33:17.760 I love how Waters
00:33:18.680 reminds people
00:33:19.760 that it was CBS News
00:33:22.300 that attacked Donald Trump
00:33:24.600 in the lead up
00:33:25.180 to the presidential election
00:33:26.360 when he brought up
00:33:27.700 the laptop
00:33:28.200 and they actually said,
00:33:30.080 oh, you can't verify
00:33:31.140 this laptop.
00:33:32.000 We can't verify this.
00:33:33.140 We can't verify.
00:33:33.660 You can't say that.
00:33:35.060 You know,
00:33:35.280 and he was like,
00:33:35.880 it is real.
00:33:36.480 And they're like,
00:33:36.700 no, it's not.
00:33:37.360 We're not going to allow
00:33:38.160 you to say that here.
00:33:39.120 Yeah, Leslie Stahl
00:33:40.940 repeatedly said
00:33:42.000 it can't be verified.
00:33:42.940 It can't be verified.
00:33:43.780 It can't be verified.
00:33:44.560 Why?
00:33:45.040 Because she didn't
00:33:45.400 want to verify it.
00:33:46.080 She didn't want it
00:33:46.620 to be true.
00:33:47.160 It was politically
00:33:47.780 inconvenient.
00:33:48.940 She was a propagandist
00:33:50.100 and it was contrary
00:33:50.780 to her propaganda.
00:33:51.620 By the way,
00:33:52.320 this is the same Leslie Stahl
00:33:54.280 that interviewed
00:33:56.140 the head of Iran
00:33:57.300 as he spouted
00:33:59.100 Holocaust denial
00:34:00.320 and she sat there
00:34:01.880 and didn't challenge him
00:34:02.960 because I guess
00:34:04.280 in their mind
00:34:05.620 that can't be verified either.
00:34:07.420 I mean,
00:34:07.660 they literally,
00:34:08.300 their propaganda
00:34:09.300 is such
00:34:09.920 that they're willing
00:34:10.460 to sit there
00:34:11.360 with blatantly
00:34:13.120 dishonest anti-Semitism
00:34:14.620 and broadcast it
00:34:15.780 because the Democrat Party
00:34:18.140 supports giving Iran
00:34:20.660 hundreds of billions
00:34:21.400 of dollars
00:34:21.840 and allowing them
00:34:22.420 to get nukes
00:34:23.040 and so therefore
00:34:23.720 the corrupt corporate media
00:34:25.440 does
00:34:25.920 and if you have to have
00:34:27.360 a racist murderer
00:34:28.500 torturer
00:34:29.160 anti-Semite
00:34:30.360 and give them
00:34:30.800 global coverage,
00:34:31.640 well,
00:34:31.820 that's just a cost
00:34:32.500 of doing business.
00:34:34.000 The Hunter Biden
00:34:34.780 laptop story
00:34:35.740 is a lot of things
00:34:36.960 but one of the things
00:34:38.060 it illustrates
00:34:38.740 is the confluence
00:34:41.180 between all
00:34:42.280 of the corrupt institutions
00:34:43.780 that are coming together
00:34:46.140 to deceive
00:34:46.960 the American people
00:34:49.180 and to steal elections.
00:34:52.200 So,
00:34:53.040 Hunter Biden's story
00:34:54.080 breaks.
00:34:54.760 Evidence,
00:34:55.440 clear evidence
00:34:56.200 of corruption
00:34:57.040 by Joe Biden
00:34:58.220 on behalf
00:34:59.320 of enemies
00:35:00.060 of America,
00:35:00.760 the Chinese communists,
00:35:01.920 on behalf
00:35:02.320 of Burisma,
00:35:03.140 the Ukrainian
00:35:03.960 Ukrainian natural gas company.
00:35:06.220 It's an incredibly
00:35:07.260 inconvenient story
00:35:08.180 because it breaks
00:35:08.940 right before the election.
00:35:10.000 So,
00:35:10.160 several things happen.
00:35:11.020 Number one,
00:35:12.160 the FBI
00:35:12.720 picks up the phone
00:35:13.820 and calls Facebook
00:35:15.840 and says,
00:35:17.460 please suppress
00:35:18.760 this story
00:35:19.680 because it's
00:35:20.940 Russian disinformation.
00:35:22.180 It has all the hallmarks
00:35:23.240 of Russian disinformation.
00:35:24.860 Now,
00:35:25.020 we now know
00:35:25.680 the FBI
00:35:26.720 was lying.
00:35:27.600 That was a lie.
00:35:28.540 So,
00:35:28.700 the FBI
00:35:29.220 corrupted from within.
00:35:30.880 The partisans there,
00:35:32.180 they didn't want
00:35:33.280 Joe Biden to lose
00:35:34.180 so they called
00:35:34.860 their buddies
00:35:35.260 at Big Tech.
00:35:35.940 What does Big Tech do?
00:35:37.400 Big Tech,
00:35:38.560 Facebook and Twitter
00:35:39.460 together acting
00:35:40.340 in concert,
00:35:41.500 say to the New York Post
00:35:42.800 that dared write
00:35:43.720 a story
00:35:44.380 about the Hunter Biden
00:35:45.900 laptop.
00:35:46.580 We are going
00:35:47.040 to de-platform
00:35:48.040 not just your story.
00:35:50.280 We're going to take
00:35:50.880 the entire New York Post
00:35:52.040 down.
00:35:52.400 You're no longer
00:35:53.080 allowed on social media.
00:35:54.560 You are de-platformed.
00:35:55.840 They involuntarily
00:35:56.940 did to the New York Post
00:35:58.600 what CBS
00:35:59.180 just did
00:35:59.820 in its little fit
00:36:00.480 for a day
00:36:01.020 and a few hours.
00:36:02.660 Yeah,
00:36:02.920 and I will remind people,
00:36:04.720 CBS News
00:36:05.460 still not apologize
00:36:06.460 for this moment
00:36:07.540 with Donald Trump.
00:36:08.400 I wish you would
00:36:08.840 interview Joe Biden
00:36:09.740 like you interview me.
00:36:11.500 It would be so good.
00:36:12.660 You know what?
00:36:13.320 You like this,
00:36:14.300 I thought.
00:36:14.860 I thought you liked
00:36:15.560 Spock.
00:36:15.860 I don't mind it.
00:36:16.360 But when I watch him
00:36:17.320 walk out of a store
00:36:18.780 and he's walking
00:36:19.980 with ice cream
00:36:21.260 and the question
00:36:22.760 the media asks him,
00:36:23.800 what kind of ice cream,
00:36:24.840 what flavor ice cream
00:36:25.700 do you have?
00:36:26.840 And he's in the midst
00:36:27.660 of a scandal.
00:36:28.640 He's not.
00:36:29.220 And he's taking,
00:36:30.400 of course he is,
00:36:31.560 Leslie.
00:36:32.220 Come on.
00:36:32.600 Of course he is.
00:36:33.780 There it is,
00:36:34.380 Senator.
00:36:34.660 He's not in the midst
00:36:35.620 of a scandal.
00:36:36.460 He's not.
00:36:37.060 He's not in a scandal.
00:36:38.360 Come on.
00:36:39.240 That was October the 26th
00:36:41.240 with the laptop story,
00:36:42.920 CBS News,
00:36:43.880 and it only took him
00:36:44.620 two plus years
00:36:45.440 to now finally admit
00:36:46.460 that the story is real
00:36:47.720 after she laughed
00:36:49.020 in the face
00:36:49.580 of Donald Trump,
00:36:50.300 the president
00:36:50.660 of the United States
00:36:51.080 of America
00:36:51.480 on 60 Minutes
00:36:52.600 and no comment
00:36:53.820 coming from 60 Minutes
00:36:54.940 and no comment
00:36:55.800 coming from Leslie Stahl.
00:36:57.260 That should tell you
00:36:58.240 everything you need
00:36:58.800 to know about
00:36:59.240 the woke corporate media.
00:37:01.100 So question,
00:37:01.700 what changed?
00:37:02.820 We had an election.
00:37:03.760 We had a midterm election,
00:37:04.860 right?
00:37:05.120 And I think,
00:37:05.920 this is my prediction,
00:37:07.140 Senator.
00:37:07.960 I think the media
00:37:08.960 is starting to turn
00:37:09.640 on Joe Biden
00:37:10.260 because they're useful idiots
00:37:11.440 no longer useful to them.
00:37:13.060 They realize they don't want
00:37:14.400 him to run for president
00:37:15.240 in 2024.
00:37:16.380 I think they needed
00:37:17.280 to get through the midterms.
00:37:18.520 This is only my opinion,
00:37:19.720 but I think now
00:37:20.860 you're watching CBS News
00:37:22.780 and others
00:37:23.400 are starting to realize
00:37:24.440 they got to take their hands
00:37:26.400 off protecting Joe Biden
00:37:27.660 a little bit here
00:37:28.380 and maybe let all this come out
00:37:30.380 so they can move on
00:37:31.180 to their next candidate.
00:37:32.040 That's my gut.
00:37:32.880 I could be wrong,
00:37:33.560 but that's my prediction.
00:37:34.440 So I think that's
00:37:35.860 a significant piece of it.
00:37:36.980 Number one,
00:37:38.080 CBS News didn't do this
00:37:39.380 until after the midterms elections.
00:37:41.340 So they didn't do it
00:37:41.860 two weeks ago.
00:37:43.200 They did it now.
00:37:44.640 Number two,
00:37:45.920 you're right,
00:37:46.460 they're done with Joe Biden.
00:37:47.540 He's not running in 2024
00:37:48.680 and if he even thinks he is,
00:37:49.880 they want to push him out
00:37:50.620 because he clearly can't run.
00:37:52.340 But number three,
00:37:53.520 you've got a House majority
00:37:54.600 that's getting ready
00:37:55.260 to have hearings
00:37:55.880 on these things
00:37:56.680 and the fact that
00:37:58.040 they've been
00:37:58.520 utter complicit liars
00:37:59.920 does kind of look bad for them.
00:38:02.760 So they want to get out
00:38:04.740 and report on all this stuff
00:38:05.920 so when the House has hearings,
00:38:07.080 they say,
00:38:07.400 oh, this isn't news.
00:38:08.040 This is old news.
00:38:08.740 We reported on this.
00:38:09.540 We reported on this
00:38:10.160 a long time ago,
00:38:10.880 like a whole week ago.
00:38:12.180 In fact,
00:38:12.820 we took out the trash
00:38:14.160 as we call it in politics.
00:38:15.800 We report on the story
00:38:17.040 the week of Thanksgiving
00:38:17.980 when a lot of people
00:38:18.900 have tuned out,
00:38:19.760 checked out,
00:38:20.180 and gone to see their family
00:38:21.160 and have kind of
00:38:21.900 walked away from politics
00:38:23.780 after the exhaustion
00:38:24.800 of covering it
00:38:25.600 all through the election.
00:38:26.980 That's why they're doing it
00:38:28.080 right now
00:38:28.560 during the week of Thanksgiving
00:38:29.640 because this is when
00:38:31.280 the fewest number
00:38:32.240 of people are watching them.
00:38:34.160 Well, and it's worth
00:38:35.020 explaining that phrase
00:38:36.180 taking out the trash
00:38:37.140 because people
00:38:37.680 who haven't worked
00:38:38.280 in politics
00:38:38.860 or haven't worked
00:38:39.540 in media
00:38:39.880 may not understand
00:38:40.640 what it means.
00:38:42.040 Often, if you have bad news,
00:38:44.760 what people in politics do
00:38:46.320 is they'll release it
00:38:47.520 on a Friday afternoon
00:38:49.260 and even better,
00:38:50.920 a Friday afternoon
00:38:51.740 when something else big
00:38:52.720 is going on.
00:38:53.480 So it's out there.
00:38:54.320 It's in the public.
00:38:55.060 It's just no one sees it
00:38:56.180 because it gets buried.
00:38:57.100 And that's the phrase
00:38:59.240 take it out the trash.
00:39:00.260 If you look at,
00:39:01.540 you know,
00:39:01.780 it would be a funny thing
00:39:03.160 for someone to go compile,
00:39:05.140 you know,
00:39:05.840 the top 50
00:39:07.520 Friday afternoon
00:39:09.440 press releases
00:39:10.340 because I guarantee you
00:39:12.160 there's some doozies
00:39:13.800 in there on both sides.
00:39:14.980 Both D's and R's do this.
00:39:16.120 This is not an exclusive
00:39:17.220 Democrat failing.
00:39:19.140 But when the media does it,
00:39:21.580 when they release it
00:39:22.660 at a time
00:39:23.120 no one's paying attention,
00:39:24.820 they're engaged in CYA.
00:39:26.460 They're trying to cover
00:39:27.460 their own rear ends
00:39:28.500 by saying,
00:39:29.920 oh, we've covered it.
00:39:30.860 And part of the reason
00:39:32.220 you do that
00:39:33.140 is so then
00:39:34.980 when the world
00:39:36.480 does focus on
00:39:37.380 whatever the bad news is,
00:39:38.480 whatever the scandal is,
00:39:39.900 you say,
00:39:40.900 oh, it's old news.
00:39:41.640 That's been out there forever.
00:39:42.740 Oh, come on.
00:39:43.100 Everyone knows that.
00:39:43.860 Nothing to talk about here.
00:39:45.180 That's what they're trying to do.
00:39:47.140 It's amazing.
00:39:48.100 Senator,
00:39:48.620 we're going to keep
00:39:49.500 covering this story.
00:39:50.500 We're going to keep watching it
00:39:51.640 and we'll keep exposing it
00:39:53.960 as it comes out.
