00:00:02.560 Guaranteed human.
00:00:04.760 Welcome to Verdict with Ted Cruz.
00:00:06.960 I'm Ben Ferguson.
00:00:07.980 Nice to have all of you with us.
00:00:09.760 And Senator, we have got a lot to discuss today,
00:00:13.100 including this new news that Steve Bannon
00:00:16.260 is going to spend, in theory, four months in jail.
00:00:19.420 We also need to talk about some news,
00:00:22.120 and that is the media is starting to actually tell the truth
00:00:25.140 about the damage done to kids with school closures.
00:00:28.560 We're going to have that, plus gun control in Canada,
00:00:31.600 and a very important Senate race in Utah.
00:00:35.200 Now, before we get to those other stories, Senator,
00:00:37.360 I want to get to this shocking headline,
00:00:39.380 and that is that Steve Bannon is supposed to spend
00:00:42.160 four months in jail, in prison,
00:00:45.760 for defying an outwardly partisan kangaroo court,
00:00:50.080 is how one tweet put it earlier today.
00:00:52.860 There's a lot of people asking questions,
00:00:55.220 how did he get four months when guys like Eric Holder
00:00:57.660 didn't get any time in jail?
00:00:59.820 Klein Smith, for example,
00:01:01.320 the former FBI assistant general counsel
00:01:03.580 involved in Crossfire Hurricane,
00:01:05.940 didn't get any time in jail as well.
00:01:09.620 Look, I think the news of Bannon's being sentenced
00:01:12.740 to four months is absolutely outrageous,
00:01:15.060 and I am furious about it.
00:01:17.520 I'm furious because Merrick Garland
00:01:21.040 has presided over a Department of Justice
00:01:23.340 that it now consists of simply being a partisan weapon
00:01:27.880 to attack the political opponents of Joe Biden
00:01:30.880 and the Democrats,
00:01:31.680 and Merrick Garland should be ashamed,
00:01:33.700 he should resign in disgrace,
00:01:35.760 and if he doesn't,
00:01:37.120 he should be impeached and removed from office.
00:01:39.380 What happened here?
00:01:40.640 The January 6th committee
00:01:42.060 subpoenaed Steve Bannon.
00:01:45.380 Now, the January 6th committee
00:01:47.220 is not a real congressional committee.
00:01:49.420 A real congressional committee
00:01:50.500 has members from both parties,
00:01:53.080 and the Democrats
00:01:54.540 select the Democratic members of the party,
00:01:57.980 the Republicans select
00:01:59.080 the Republican members of the party.
00:02:01.360 Nancy Pelosi wanted,
00:02:02.960 didn't want to have a real committee,
00:02:04.300 she wanted to have a kangaroo court.
00:02:06.400 So she selected the Democrat members
00:02:08.220 of the committee,
00:02:09.400 and the House Republican majority leader,
00:02:12.620 Kevin McCarthy,
00:02:13.360 selected the Republicans.
00:02:15.000 And she promptly said,
00:02:16.060 no, I don't like those Republicans.
00:02:17.460 She didn't like Jim Jordan.
00:02:18.680 She didn't want Republicans
00:02:19.600 who actually would oppose
00:02:22.480 the Democrat partisan agenda.
00:02:24.100 So she vetoed the Republicans.
00:02:26.480 The Speaker doesn't get to do that.
00:02:27.920 That is unprecedented.
00:02:29.100 It's an abuse of power.
00:02:30.640 She literally tried to stack the deck.
00:02:33.600 And so this committee consists of
00:02:35.440 100% Democrats,
00:02:37.820 plus two now fake Republicans,
00:02:41.180 Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger,
00:02:42.660 both of whom will be gone in January,
00:02:44.340 neither of whom are coming back as Republicans.
00:02:46.500 And there are two Republicans
00:02:47.560 who Donald Trump shattered
00:02:49.620 into tiny little pieces of impotent rage.
00:02:55.240 And they've conducted a year-long
00:02:57.740 TV commercial for the Democrats.
00:03:00.460 These hearings,
00:03:01.080 I literally have not watched
00:03:02.300 one second of these hearings,
00:03:05.460 for the same reason that I don't watch
00:03:07.240 the Democratic National Convention
00:03:09.400 every four years.
00:03:12.020 It is a paid infomercial
00:03:14.280 for the Democrat Party.
00:03:15.840 So is this.
00:03:16.960 Well, this kangaroo court
00:03:18.320 subpoenaed Steve Bannon.
00:03:20.240 He declined to testify.
00:03:24.680 And the Department of Justice
00:03:26.300 stepped forward
00:03:27.200 and prosecuted him.
00:03:28.980 He was voted in contempt of Congress.
00:03:30.940 And the Department of Justice
00:03:32.060 stepped forward and prosecuted him.
00:03:33.840 And what just happened
00:03:35.300 is the district court
00:03:36.880 sentenced him to four months.
00:03:39.420 The reason I'm furious, Ben,
00:03:41.620 is the wildly double standard.
00:03:44.060 You mentioned Eric Holder.
00:03:45.160 Eric Holder was attorney general
00:03:46.360 under Barack Obama.
00:03:48.100 Eric Holder defied Congress.
00:03:50.620 He refused to give them documents
00:03:52.400 on Fast and Furious,
00:03:53.840 the incredibly scandalous situation
00:03:55.980 where the Department of Justice
00:03:57.320 ran guns to Mexico,
00:03:59.780 guns and turns that were used
00:04:01.280 to murder U.S. agents.
00:04:04.260 And to cover up the scandal,
00:04:06.120 Eric Holder refused
00:04:07.020 to turn over documents,
00:04:08.080 refused to testify,
00:04:09.240 just stiff-armed Congress.
00:04:11.620 Congress voted him in contempt.
00:04:13.720 But here's the piece
00:04:14.620 that was missing.
00:04:15.920 Because it was
00:04:16.820 the Obama Justice Department,
00:04:19.080 the Obama Justice Department
00:04:20.380 never prosecuted him.
00:04:22.160 So Congress voted him in contempt.
00:04:23.840 But look, under our Constitution,
00:04:26.220 Congress, as the legislative branch
00:04:28.340 defined by Article I
00:04:29.440 of the Constitution,
00:04:30.220 doesn't have the power
00:04:31.820 to prosecute anyone.
00:04:33.860 Only Article II,
00:04:35.180 the executive branch,
00:04:36.480 can prosecute.
00:04:37.600 So when Eric Holder
00:04:38.440 was held in contempt,
00:04:40.280 he wasn't prosecuted.
00:04:41.520 The difference is now,
00:04:43.300 when it's Democrats
00:04:44.380 controlling Congress
00:04:45.220 and Democrats controlling
00:04:46.200 the White House,
00:04:47.200 now they go after Steve Bannon
00:04:49.980 and they want jail time.
00:04:51.200 And, you know,
00:04:51.820 you mentioned also
00:04:52.840 Kevin Kline-Smith.
00:04:54.140 I want to focus on him
00:04:55.180 a little bit.
00:04:55.920 And remind people
00:04:57.600 of Kevin Kline-Smith
00:04:58.460 because, you know,
00:04:59.660 they hear,
00:05:00.280 and look,
00:05:00.660 we saw this this weekend,
00:05:01.760 the headlines that came out,
00:05:03.420 Senator,
00:05:03.720 where it says,
00:05:04.100 well, Steve Bannon
00:05:04.840 just got what he always wanted,
00:05:06.180 right?
00:05:06.360 He wanted to be a martyr,
00:05:07.660 is how CNN put it
00:05:08.560 on their website.
00:05:09.640 There was others that say
00:05:10.620 Steve Bannon deserved
00:05:11.520 what he got
00:05:12.100 because he refused
00:05:12.860 to testify.
00:05:13.960 It's not abnormal
00:05:15.400 for people to say
00:05:17.120 they don't want to testify.
00:05:18.440 Can we be clear about that?
00:05:19.900 And that doesn't mean
00:05:20.640 that you deserve
00:05:21.240 to go to jail.
00:05:22.620 Well, I'll give you
00:05:23.620 someone else
00:05:24.340 who refused to testify,
00:05:26.100 who pleaded the fifth,
00:05:26.960 who was held in contempt,
00:05:28.260 Lois Lerner.
00:05:29.400 Lois Lerner directed
00:05:30.680 the section of the IRS
00:05:31.800 under Barack Obama
00:05:32.920 that targeted conservatives
00:05:34.360 for their political beliefs.
00:05:36.100 When it came out
00:05:37.080 that Lois Lerner
00:05:37.780 had targeted conservatives
00:05:38.820 for their political beliefs,
00:05:40.400 Barack Obama
00:05:40.980 held a press conference.
00:05:42.020 He said,
00:05:42.380 I am angry
00:05:43.480 and the American people
00:05:45.140 have a right to be angry.
00:05:46.680 Now,
00:05:47.320 what Barack Obama
00:05:48.140 was doing there,
00:05:48.860 there's a technical word for it,
00:05:50.080 that's called lying.
00:05:51.080 How do we know it's lying?
00:05:53.460 Because,
00:05:54.540 number one,
00:05:55.300 Lois Lerner was never prosecuted.
00:05:56.980 Number two,
00:05:58.580 the Department of Justice
00:06:00.020 appointed a special prosecutor
00:06:01.800 in charge of the case
00:06:02.900 who was a major Democratic donor
00:06:05.080 to give in about $6,000
00:06:06.400 to Barack Obama
00:06:07.520 and the Democrats.
00:06:08.280 So she had a clear
00:06:09.220 partisan bias.
00:06:11.260 Number three,
00:06:11.720 Lois Lerner retired
00:06:12.680 with full pension.
00:06:13.640 But number four,
00:06:14.780 when she defied Congress
00:06:16.340 and was held in contempt,
00:06:18.860 once again,
00:06:19.560 the Department of Justice
00:06:20.440 refused to prosecute her
00:06:21.940 because the Obama
00:06:23.480 Department of Justice
00:06:24.500 was thoroughly corrupted.
00:06:26.060 As you know,
00:06:26.440 next week,
00:06:26.960 my book comes out
00:06:27.920 on this topic,
00:06:29.280 Justice Corrupted,
00:06:30.640 How the Left
00:06:31.240 Weaponized the Legal System.
00:06:32.560 I walked through
00:06:33.160 Lois Lerner.
00:06:34.300 I walked through
00:06:35.280 Eric Holder.
00:06:35.920 I walked through
00:06:36.560 Kevin Kline Smith.
00:06:37.980 Let's do Kevin Kline Smith
00:06:39.140 because it gives
00:06:39.820 another example.
00:06:40.640 So Obama
00:06:41.340 weaponizes DOJ,
00:06:43.660 weaponizes the FBI,
00:06:44.980 weaponizes the IRS,
00:06:47.040 refuses to prosecute
00:06:48.580 anyone for contempt
00:06:49.420 of Congress
00:06:49.980 even though
00:06:50.500 they're voted
00:06:50.900 in contempt
00:06:51.280 of Congress.
00:06:52.520 Fast forward to Trump.
00:06:54.460 When Donald Trump
00:06:55.920 becomes president
00:06:56.840 under Obama,
00:06:58.200 these hard partisans
00:06:59.780 had burrowed in
00:07:01.000 to senior positions
00:07:02.680 at the Department
00:07:03.320 of Justice,
00:07:04.420 the FBI,
00:07:05.260 the IRS,
00:07:05.980 and all different
00:07:07.040 agencies of the
00:07:07.800 federal government.
00:07:09.300 In the FBI,
00:07:10.980 they launched,
00:07:12.360 along with DOJ,
00:07:13.320 what was called
00:07:13.840 Operation Crossfire Hurricane.
00:07:15.440 There's an entire
00:07:16.020 chapter in my book
00:07:17.120 explaining Crossfire Hurricane.
00:07:18.580 Crossfire Hurricane
00:07:20.020 was the hard partisans
00:07:21.480 at DOJ,
00:07:22.160 at the FBI,
00:07:23.260 trying to target
00:07:24.480 Donald Trump,
00:07:26.340 trying to go after
00:07:27.220 the newly elected
00:07:28.140 president because they
00:07:29.040 didn't want the
00:07:29.920 American people
00:07:30.700 to be able to
00:07:31.480 elect Donald Trump.
00:07:32.360 Now, what did they do?
00:07:33.800 Well, the Department
00:07:34.940 of Justice
00:07:35.420 Inspector General
00:07:36.380 issued a report
00:07:37.840 on all of the
00:07:40.000 mistakes,
00:07:40.760 all of the abuses
00:07:41.720 of power
00:07:42.440 of the FBI
00:07:44.040 and the DOJ
00:07:45.160 in Crossfire Hurricane.
00:07:47.000 It outlines
00:07:47.500 17 different
00:07:48.580 major mistakes,
00:07:49.460 the biggest one
00:07:50.080 of which was
00:07:50.540 committed
00:07:50.900 by Kevin
00:07:52.020 Kline-Smith.
00:07:52.660 Kevin Kline-Smith
00:07:53.400 was an assistant
00:07:54.280 general counsel
00:07:55.100 at the FBI.
00:07:56.920 The FBI
00:07:57.720 was seeking
00:07:58.380 a wiretap
00:07:59.420 on a guy
00:07:59.780 named Carter Page.
00:08:00.700 Carter Page
00:08:01.260 was a professor.
00:08:02.900 He was
00:08:03.360 a peripheral
00:08:05.300 foreign policy
00:08:06.560 advisor
00:08:07.060 to the Trump
00:08:07.640 campaign.
00:08:09.160 And the FBI
00:08:10.280 wanted to get
00:08:11.000 a wiretap
00:08:11.820 on Carter Page
00:08:13.400 and the basis
00:08:14.300 of their wiretap
00:08:15.300 is they said,
00:08:15.900 well, he's talking
00:08:16.540 to some really
00:08:17.180 shady Russians
00:08:17.920 and so he may be
00:08:19.220 doing something bad
00:08:20.100 because the Russians
00:08:21.220 he's having conversations
00:08:22.200 with are questionable.
00:08:24.400 Well, the FBI
00:08:25.360 sent an email
00:08:26.620 to the CIA
00:08:27.220 and they asked
00:08:28.080 the CIA,
00:08:28.840 hey, this Carter Page
00:08:30.540 guy, is he a source
00:08:32.360 for the CIA?
00:08:33.260 In other words,
00:08:34.160 when he's talking
00:08:34.780 to the shady Russians,
00:08:36.320 is he doing it
00:08:37.440 on behalf
00:08:38.140 of the United States
00:08:39.040 of America?
00:08:39.700 Is he helping
00:08:40.540 the CIA out?
00:08:42.040 Now, if the answer
00:08:42.720 is yes,
00:08:43.940 then it's not
00:08:44.500 suspicious that he's
00:08:45.280 talking to shady Russians
00:08:46.260 because we expect
00:08:47.460 He's doing it on purpose
00:08:48.220 on behalf
00:08:48.820 of the United States
00:08:49.680 government,
00:08:50.140 which is asking him
00:08:51.340 to do it on their behalf
00:08:52.520 in essence, right?
00:08:53.800 Exactly right.
00:08:54.720 And to ask that question,
00:08:56.200 I want to know
00:08:57.460 because there's so many
00:08:58.260 people that are listening,
00:08:59.440 Senator,
00:09:00.800 they may say,
00:09:01.500 well, that's a weird
00:09:02.040 question to ask, right?
00:09:03.280 For the FBI
00:09:03.840 to talk to the CIA.
00:09:04.940 There was obviously
00:09:06.000 something that popped
00:09:07.060 in Carter Page's file,
00:09:08.520 right, that made them say,
00:09:09.720 oh, he's an asset
00:09:10.740 of the United States
00:09:11.540 government to even think
00:09:12.980 to go ask that question.
00:09:14.840 Yeah, that is
00:09:15.760 a reasonable inference.
00:09:17.120 We don't know
00:09:17.660 what it was
00:09:18.420 that prompted
00:09:19.020 that question.
00:09:20.500 Although,
00:09:21.160 if you are,
00:09:22.660 we don't know
00:09:23.300 what it was
00:09:23.700 that prompted it.
00:09:24.320 We know they asked it.
00:09:25.860 And the CIA
00:09:26.660 responded in writing,
00:09:28.780 yes, he is a source.
00:09:30.340 Thank you for asking.
00:09:31.220 He's very helpful to us.
00:09:32.260 Yes, he is a source.
00:09:33.500 Here's what Kevin
00:09:34.120 Kline Smith did.
00:09:35.480 He took that email
00:09:37.180 and he fraudulently
00:09:39.340 altered it.
00:09:40.300 And he changed
00:09:41.520 the CIA's email.
00:09:42.600 So where they say,
00:09:43.400 yes, he is a source,
00:09:44.640 he changed that to read,
00:09:47.060 no, he is not a source.
00:09:50.100 He then took
00:09:51.280 that counterfeit
00:09:52.320 fraudulent document
00:09:53.460 and he submitted it
00:09:54.340 to a federal court
00:09:55.200 and used it
00:09:56.460 as the basis
00:09:57.040 to get the wiretap
00:09:58.180 on Carter Page
00:09:59.120 to go after Donald Trump.
00:10:00.640 Now, that is a felony.
00:10:03.060 He created
00:10:04.680 a fraudulent document
00:10:05.900 and submitted it
00:10:06.640 to a federal court.
00:10:07.780 He was prosecuted
00:10:09.020 when it became public.
00:10:10.200 And you know what sentence
00:10:11.420 Kevin Kline Smith got?
00:10:13.280 You would assume
00:10:14.280 if you do something
00:10:15.360 that egregious
00:10:16.340 to actually spy on somebody
00:10:17.680 that you would do
00:10:18.400 years, if not a decade.
00:10:21.520 That is absolutely right.
00:10:23.400 If you create
00:10:23.980 a fraudulent document
00:10:25.020 to submit to a federal court,
00:10:26.300 I'll tell you right now,
00:10:27.300 Ben, you or I do that,
00:10:28.820 we're doing hard time.
00:10:30.620 You don't get to submit
00:10:31.620 fraudulent documents
00:10:32.600 to a court on purpose,
00:10:34.740 particularly when
00:10:35.940 you are doing it
00:10:36.800 to target the president
00:10:37.920 of the United States
00:10:38.780 in a partisan vendetta.
00:10:40.560 Well, here's what
00:10:41.440 the D.C. district judge
00:10:42.920 sentenced him to.
00:10:44.640 12 months probation
00:10:45.980 and 400 hours
00:10:48.040 of community service.
00:10:49.100 He did not serve
00:10:50.080 a single day in jail.
00:10:53.460 And by the way,
00:10:54.420 his law license
00:10:55.460 was restored as well.
00:10:57.420 It was an absolute
00:10:58.620 slap on the wrist.
00:10:59.640 And what is infuriating
00:11:01.240 is this is a blatant,
00:11:03.260 it is an obvious
00:11:04.380 double standard.
00:11:05.420 No one can defend it.
00:11:07.000 Why did Bannon
00:11:08.060 get sentenced?
00:11:09.180 Because the Democrats
00:11:11.340 hate Steve Bannon.
00:11:13.260 And this is about
00:11:14.360 punishing your
00:11:15.360 political enemies.
00:11:16.760 And I think it is
00:11:18.220 completely indefensible.
00:11:20.280 You go back to Steve Bannon
00:11:21.680 for a second
00:11:22.280 and why they hate him
00:11:23.140 so much.
00:11:23.680 This is a guy,
00:11:24.480 number one, Senator,
00:11:25.320 I think you would
00:11:26.280 agree with me.
00:11:26.800 You cannot control him.
00:11:28.560 He's a guy that went
00:11:30.240 into the Trump White House
00:11:32.140 and they couldn't
00:11:33.920 even control him.
00:11:35.300 He immediately comes out
00:11:36.720 and starts exposing
00:11:37.700 stories and issues
00:11:39.320 and telling stories
00:11:40.200 the media refuses to tell.
00:11:42.340 He was a guy,
00:11:43.020 for example,
00:11:43.480 that was on the front lines
00:11:44.700 of the laptop from hell
00:11:47.780 and the hard drive
00:11:48.760 of Hunter Biden
00:11:49.600 and was exposing that
00:11:51.220 on a regular basis.
00:11:52.840 Fast forward to January the 6th
00:11:54.720 and they say,
00:11:55.540 well, Steve Bannon
00:11:56.100 had to be involved.
00:11:57.260 He had to orchestrate this.
00:11:58.700 We have no doubt
00:12:00.320 that he was a part of it
00:12:01.960 and that's where
00:12:02.880 the witch hunt
00:12:03.480 happened against him,
00:12:04.420 which is why
00:12:05.160 they've decided
00:12:06.120 to subpoena him
00:12:07.000 and he's like,
00:12:07.500 I don't want to say
00:12:08.240 anything to you.
00:12:08.800 I have nothing to say to you.
00:12:11.080 Well, and not only that,
00:12:12.960 Steve Bannon
00:12:13.440 is also protected.
00:12:14.560 He was a senior advisor
00:12:15.760 to the President
00:12:16.400 of the United States
00:12:17.200 and there is a privilege
00:12:18.460 that is called
00:12:19.080 executive privilege
00:12:20.000 which protects
00:12:20.800 senior advisors
00:12:21.660 to the President
00:12:22.320 of the United States.
00:12:23.180 Why does it do that?
00:12:24.280 Because we want the President
00:12:25.420 to be able to get
00:12:26.160 good and candid advice
00:12:27.380 and if Congress
00:12:28.100 could haul every senior advisor
00:12:29.800 to the President down
00:12:30.760 and force him
00:12:31.300 to testify under oath,
00:12:32.900 the President wouldn't get
00:12:34.200 candid and real advice
00:12:35.420 and by the way,
00:12:36.160 that's a privilege
00:12:36.840 that has been asserted.
00:12:38.940 George Washington asserted it.
00:12:40.440 It has been asserted,
00:12:41.440 I believe,
00:12:41.780 by every President
00:12:42.560 since George Washington,
00:12:44.140 Republicans and Democrats
00:12:46.020 and so Steve Bannon
00:12:47.180 in refusing to comply
00:12:48.240 with Congress
00:12:48.880 was doing his job
00:12:50.700 and let me note,
00:12:52.020 Eric Holder was not.
00:12:53.260 When Eric Holder
00:12:54.040 defied Congress,
00:12:55.200 he was just covering
00:12:55.960 his own ass.
00:12:56.720 He was not protecting
00:12:58.320 executive privilege.
00:12:59.320 He was just saying,
00:13:00.220 I don't want you to catch
00:13:00.940 the bad stuff I've done.
00:13:01.940 I refuse to participate.
00:13:03.520 And why was he subpoenaed?
00:13:04.880 A lot of people
00:13:05.260 may not remember the story
00:13:06.540 of why Congress subpoenaed him
00:13:09.040 and why Congress wanted
00:13:10.100 to talk to Eric Holder
00:13:11.080 in that capacity.
00:13:12.240 So it was a battle
00:13:13.460 over a program
00:13:14.320 that was called
00:13:14.900 Fast and Furious
00:13:16.000 and Fast and Furious
00:13:17.100 is something that
00:13:18.140 was started
00:13:19.400 under the Obama
00:13:20.120 Justice Department
00:13:21.020 where they put illegal guns
00:13:23.980 on the street
00:13:24.720 and they essentially
00:13:25.780 sold them to drug dealers,
00:13:27.600 to Mexican drug cartels
00:13:29.140 and it was a ridiculous program.
00:13:31.540 You should not have
00:13:32.180 the federal government
00:13:32.940 in the business
00:13:33.560 of selling lots of guns
00:13:35.580 to really dangerous people
00:13:36.840 and those guns in turn
00:13:37.900 were used
00:13:38.640 to murder federal agents.
00:13:41.040 So DOJ literally
00:13:42.340 provided and supplied
00:13:44.540 the murder weapons.
00:13:46.180 And Congress,
00:13:47.040 once it was
00:13:47.520 a Republican Congress,
00:13:48.580 Democrats didn't care
00:13:49.340 about it at all.
00:13:50.000 They thought that was just fine
00:13:51.120 that DOJ was selling
00:13:52.200 guns to Mexican drug cartels.
00:13:54.760 When we had
00:13:55.440 a Republican Congress,
00:13:56.380 they said,
00:13:56.860 gosh, this seems
00:13:57.480 like a problem.
00:13:58.740 We want to see
00:13:59.460 all the documents.
00:14:00.300 We want to see
00:14:00.800 what you discussed.
00:14:01.620 We want to see
00:14:02.240 what the hell
00:14:03.820 were you thinking
00:14:04.760 saying guns
00:14:06.320 to drug cartel members
00:14:08.200 and drug hordes in Mexico.
00:14:09.980 That's exactly right.
00:14:11.020 And Eric Holder
00:14:13.280 was covering his own rear end.
00:14:16.020 Kevin Kline Smith
00:14:17.260 was deceiving
00:14:20.140 and committing
00:14:20.740 a fraud on the court
00:14:21.920 in order to carry out
00:14:22.900 a partisan vendetta
00:14:23.960 against someone he hated.
00:14:26.400 Look, you look at Steve Bannon.
00:14:28.040 I know Steve Bannon
00:14:28.960 very, very well.
00:14:30.020 He and I have been friends
00:14:30.820 for a long time.
00:14:31.800 I've worked very,
00:14:32.620 very closely with Steve
00:14:33.700 for years.
00:14:35.140 Steve is smart as hell,
00:14:36.660 number one.
00:14:37.820 But Steve is also
00:14:38.880 a bull in a china closet.
00:14:40.120 Steve does not move gently
00:14:41.900 in anything he does.
00:14:43.840 And in Washington,
00:14:45.620 he broke some china.
00:14:47.120 He ticked off
00:14:47.820 a lot of Democrats
00:14:49.100 because he's not afraid
00:14:50.060 of the Democrats.
00:14:50.840 He's not afraid
00:14:51.380 of the media.
00:14:52.440 And so they want
00:14:53.600 to destroy him,
00:14:54.960 but not because
00:14:56.800 of anything he did.
00:14:58.160 They want to destroy him
00:14:59.360 because they hate him.
00:15:01.060 That is what this is about.
00:15:02.980 This is about corrupting
00:15:04.420 the machinery of government
00:15:05.780 to target your political enemies.
00:15:08.340 And it is outrageous.
00:15:09.900 Anyone who cares remotely
00:15:12.400 about the integrity
00:15:13.440 of the Justice Department
00:15:15.240 or the FBI
00:15:16.000 should be horrified
00:15:18.060 and speak out.
00:15:18.880 And by the way,
00:15:20.140 every Democrat
00:15:21.060 former attorney general,
00:15:22.440 every Democrat prosecutor
00:15:23.760 ought to come out
00:15:24.820 and say this
00:15:25.360 if they have a shred
00:15:26.120 of integrity.
00:15:26.700 And I got to say
00:15:27.780 the silence on the left
00:15:29.240 combined with the gloating
00:15:31.060 from the media
00:15:31.860 has been truly
00:15:33.800 stomach turning.
00:15:35.180 This idea that he wanted
00:15:36.840 this is the headline
00:15:38.220 from CNN is
00:15:39.200 that their analyst
00:15:41.120 said Steve Bannon
00:15:42.140 just got what
00:15:43.520 he's always wanted.
00:15:45.640 They claim that
00:15:46.940 this sentence
00:15:47.420 of four months
00:15:48.080 was his own fault
00:15:49.100 for his refusal
00:15:49.940 to comply with that subpoena.
00:15:51.880 And he did it on purpose.
00:15:53.200 They said this is exactly
00:15:54.620 what he wanted
00:15:55.500 to be looked at
00:15:56.860 as a, quote,
00:15:57.840 martyr.
00:15:58.700 And he deserves
00:15:59.660 to get more time
00:16:00.740 than even four months.
00:16:02.000 He obviously
00:16:02.820 is going to appeal this.
00:16:04.060 I don't think anyone, quote,
00:16:06.700 deserves to go to jail
00:16:08.160 just because you don't
00:16:09.080 like him politically.
00:16:10.060 If you actually commit a crime,
00:16:12.240 that's a different story.
00:16:13.500 But what they're saying is
00:16:15.140 we hate him so much
00:16:16.620 that he deserves this
00:16:18.020 and more.
00:16:19.000 You know, that is
00:16:20.540 maybe among the most
00:16:22.920 ridiculous words
00:16:24.320 ever uttered
00:16:26.280 by CNN.
00:16:27.160 And that's quite a distinction
00:16:28.260 because CNN
00:16:28.860 has a daily business
00:16:30.500 of uttering ridiculous words.
00:16:32.280 But their argument is,
00:16:35.680 look,
00:16:36.780 he really wanted
00:16:37.980 to go to jail
00:16:38.840 because, you know,
00:16:39.380 that's really what
00:16:40.240 Steve Bannon wants
00:16:41.160 is to be locked up
00:16:42.140 with a bunch of bad guys
00:16:43.220 and have to worry about
00:16:44.200 don't bend over
00:16:44.820 for the soap.
00:16:45.900 It is ridiculous.
00:16:47.460 It is outrageous.
00:16:51.440 And to suggest,
00:16:52.880 you know what,
00:16:54.400 maybe CNN ought
00:16:55.280 to be locked up.
00:16:56.000 Isn't that what
00:16:56.460 they've always wanted?
00:16:57.260 I mean, what garbage
00:16:58.160 to say, well, yeah,
00:16:59.720 I mean, you know,
00:17:00.200 we're throwing someone
00:17:00.880 in jail for four months,
00:17:02.100 but gosh,
00:17:02.840 they get to be a martyr.
00:17:03.860 That's like tying someone
00:17:04.840 to the stake
00:17:05.360 and burning them
00:17:06.040 and saying,
00:17:06.700 but hey,
00:17:07.080 they got to be a martyr,
00:17:08.040 so congratulations.
00:17:10.420 It's pure partisan spin.
00:17:12.940 Yeah, and to say
00:17:13.640 that somebody wants it
00:17:15.040 or deserves it
00:17:15.900 because they want it,
00:17:17.060 that's the way
00:17:17.680 they want to spin this
00:17:18.520 so you won't feel
00:17:19.040 sorry for him.
00:17:19.960 And look at the
00:17:20.820 double standard
00:17:21.320 with Eric Holder
00:17:22.040 and the others
00:17:22.480 that we mentioned,
00:17:23.180 I think,
00:17:23.480 is another example
00:17:24.940 of the media
00:17:25.660 is no longer
00:17:26.600 a media in this country.
00:17:27.880 I mean, let me ask you
00:17:28.460 on CNN's analysis.
00:17:31.140 Did Joan of Arc
00:17:32.140 get what she always wanted?
00:17:33.520 She did become a martyr.
00:17:35.060 Yeah.
00:17:35.220 She became a martyr,
00:17:36.860 but she also got tied
00:17:39.600 to a wooden stake
00:17:40.440 and burned to death.
00:17:41.680 I mean,
00:17:42.080 the cynicism of,
00:17:43.700 well,
00:17:44.160 he wants to be a martyr.
00:17:46.100 I promise you,
00:17:47.300 Steve Bannon
00:17:47.800 does not want to go to jail.
00:17:49.180 They know that,
00:17:50.140 but they are reveling
00:17:51.940 in using government power
00:17:54.620 to punish their enemies.
00:17:56.520 Canadian women
00:17:58.160 are looking for more.
00:17:59.520 More out of themselves,
00:18:00.540 their businesses,
00:18:01.480 their elected leaders,
00:18:02.440 and the world around them.
00:18:03.640 And that's why
00:18:04.120 we're thrilled
00:18:04.620 to introduce
00:18:05.280 the Honest Talk podcast.
00:18:07.320 I'm Jennifer Stewart.
00:18:08.520 And I'm Catherine Clark.
00:18:09.800 And in this podcast,
00:18:10.760 we interview
00:18:11.420 Canada's most inspiring women.
00:18:13.560 Entrepreneurs,
00:18:14.240 artists,
00:18:14.920 athletes,
00:18:15.520 politicians,
00:18:16.240 and newsmakers,
00:18:17.120 all at different stages
00:18:18.160 of their journey.
00:18:19.320 So if you're looking
00:18:20.320 to connect,
00:18:21.120 then we hope you'll join us.
00:18:22.540 Listen to the Honest Talk podcast
00:18:23.920 on iHeart Radio
00:18:24.840 or wherever you listen
00:18:25.880 to your podcasts.
00:18:28.300 I want to move
00:18:29.220 to another story,
00:18:30.060 Senator,
00:18:30.280 one that I think
00:18:31.160 is very important
00:18:32.700 ahead of the midterms.
00:18:34.360 And that is
00:18:35.240 American school
00:18:36.940 test scores are in.
00:18:38.600 We've got a wealth
00:18:39.660 of knowledge now
00:18:40.660 and information.
00:18:42.040 And the student test scores
00:18:43.460 have plummeted
00:18:45.280 in math
00:18:46.560 and reading
00:18:47.920 and science
00:18:49.640 since the pandemic,
00:18:52.060 since we went
00:18:52.680 to remote learning.
00:18:53.720 Now, also to be clear,
00:18:55.840 we have compare
00:18:56.720 and contrast numbers
00:18:57.700 now on private schools
00:18:59.440 that did not shut down
00:19:00.800 and private schools
00:19:01.840 that did not go
00:19:02.680 to remote learning.
00:19:04.000 And what we're seeing
00:19:05.100 is not only
00:19:06.600 did those kids flourish,
00:19:08.760 continue to flourish
00:19:09.780 in the private schools
00:19:10.720 where they continue
00:19:11.260 to go to school,
00:19:12.180 but now the public school
00:19:13.580 kids that are traditionally
00:19:14.840 even behind
00:19:15.840 the private schools
00:19:16.560 to begin with
00:19:17.300 are now possibly
00:19:18.700 multiple grade levels
00:19:20.720 behind the kids
00:19:22.180 they're basically
00:19:22.820 going to be graduating
00:19:23.960 with that they're
00:19:25.080 having to compete
00:19:25.880 with in the private sector.
00:19:27.120 And Jake Tapper
00:19:28.080 on CNN
00:19:29.580 actually said this
00:19:31.620 in a conversation.
00:19:32.800 I want everyone
00:19:33.600 to hear it.
00:19:34.620 I have to say
00:19:35.140 I'm surprised
00:19:36.080 that there hasn't been
00:19:37.420 a national conversation
00:19:40.100 about the damage
00:19:41.480 done to kids
00:19:42.280 because of these
00:19:43.240 school closures
00:19:44.800 and the virtual learning
00:19:46.100 and everything
00:19:46.840 because,
00:19:47.920 I mean,
00:19:48.120 I'm not saying
00:19:48.500 there should be
00:19:48.980 a national do-over
00:19:50.040 but we can't just pretend
00:19:51.820 that fifth graders
00:19:53.020 who are now
00:19:53.540 seventh graders
00:19:54.300 that that didn't happen.
00:19:57.380 You know,
00:19:57.640 I feel like there should be
00:19:58.960 and not with a blame game.
00:20:00.620 Look, it happened.
00:20:01.800 People did it.
00:20:02.700 It was criticized.
00:20:03.720 The school closures,
00:20:04.620 the virtual learning,
00:20:05.400 et cetera.
00:20:05.720 But here we are.
00:20:08.480 There needs to be
00:20:09.340 like a bipartisan movement,
00:20:11.000 you know?
00:20:11.800 I love that he calls it
00:20:12.840 bipartisan center
00:20:13.880 because he says,
00:20:14.620 well, I don't want to get
00:20:15.100 in the blame game.
00:20:16.300 Of course you don't
00:20:17.340 because we know
00:20:18.180 who closed down the schools.
00:20:19.620 It was the teachers' unions,
00:20:21.260 it was the public administrators
00:20:22.680 and the private schools
00:20:24.320 that had to keep running
00:20:26.520 their schools
00:20:27.440 like a business
00:20:28.380 and made the right decision
00:20:30.280 which was the kids'
00:20:31.440 rate of infection is low.
00:20:33.180 Even if you get it
00:20:34.220 that the health conditions
00:20:35.320 are not as near
00:20:36.240 as life-threatening as adults,
00:20:37.840 they did the right thing
00:20:39.340 and the public schools said,
00:20:40.860 nope,
00:20:41.140 we're going to go virtual.
00:20:42.200 We demand all this
00:20:42.880 federal government money.
00:20:44.000 Every kid's going to get
00:20:44.800 a free computer,
00:20:45.620 a laptop,
00:20:46.320 whatever,
00:20:46.620 free internet
00:20:47.380 and it was a disaster
00:20:49.280 and if you know anyone
00:20:50.220 that was teaching
00:20:50.860 the public school systems,
00:20:51.980 they were telling you
00:20:52.920 in real time
00:20:53.780 it was a disaster
00:20:55.380 and yet now they say,
00:20:56.780 well,
00:20:56.960 shouldn't this be
00:20:57.640 a bipartisan issue
00:20:58.960 where they all agree
00:20:59.900 we shouldn't have done this?
00:21:01.460 Republicans were never
00:21:02.600 in favor of this,
00:21:03.660 Senator.
00:21:05.100 Well,
00:21:05.600 that's certainly true
00:21:06.480 but let me say,
00:21:07.380 Jake Tapper
00:21:07.960 is being so dishonest
00:21:11.840 and hypocritical there
00:21:12.940 that that clip
00:21:14.260 infuriates me as well.
00:21:15.400 I know Jake very well.
00:21:16.960 I've been interviewed
00:21:18.080 by him many,
00:21:20.160 many times.
00:21:21.200 Jake is a very smart guy
00:21:22.280 and he used to be
00:21:24.080 a journalist.
00:21:25.160 He's one of the few people
00:21:27.120 in the corrupt corporate media
00:21:28.320 who actually had
00:21:29.660 a journalistic bone
00:21:30.540 in his body.
00:21:31.220 He cared about
00:21:31.920 being a journalist
00:21:32.640 and when Donald Trump
00:21:33.780 became president,
00:21:34.760 it shattered Jake
00:21:36.800 into a million
00:21:37.460 different little pieces
00:21:38.780 and he's no longer
00:21:40.120 a journalist.
00:21:40.580 He has these
00:21:41.940 occasional pangs
00:21:43.000 but his role
00:21:44.260 for the last six years
00:21:45.440 is to be
00:21:46.140 a dishonest
00:21:47.400 and lying
00:21:48.080 partisan hack,
00:21:49.080 a propagandist.
00:21:50.200 So,
00:21:50.680 when Democrats
00:21:52.360 were shutting down
00:21:53.140 schools,
00:21:53.520 and let's be clear,
00:21:54.720 it was Democrats
00:21:55.640 and only Democrats
00:21:56.700 that shut down
00:21:57.560 schools across the country
00:21:58.760 for a year or more.
00:22:00.500 Republicans did not.
00:22:02.120 It was only Democrats
00:22:04.080 who did so.
00:22:04.880 They did so,
00:22:05.480 as you noted,
00:22:06.560 at the behest
00:22:07.340 of the teachers union,
00:22:08.300 the teachers union bosses,
00:22:09.440 Randy Weingarten
00:22:10.420 is directly responsible
00:22:12.080 for this,
00:22:12.680 the head of one
00:22:13.100 of the biggest
00:22:13.460 teachers unions.
00:22:14.700 She was urging,
00:22:16.320 among other things,
00:22:17.160 the Biden administration
00:22:18.620 to keep the schools
00:22:20.300 shut down.
00:22:21.800 And not only that,
00:22:24.000 Democrats in Congress,
00:22:25.500 every single Democrat
00:22:26.980 in Congress
00:22:27.700 supported the school
00:22:29.460 shutdowns.
00:22:30.340 I forced vote
00:22:32.200 after vote
00:22:32.920 on the Senate floor
00:22:33.820 to reopen the schools.
00:22:36.420 In the middle of COVID,
00:22:37.720 I forced a vote
00:22:39.640 on the Senate floor
00:22:40.440 with the first big
00:22:41.560 so-called COVID relief bill
00:22:42.860 from the Biden administration.
00:22:44.100 They were giving
00:22:44.640 tens of billions
00:22:45.800 of dollars
00:22:46.480 to schools.
00:22:48.320 And I introduced
00:22:49.260 an amendment
00:22:49.700 and I said,
00:22:50.180 okay,
00:22:50.340 I'll tell you what.
00:22:53.220 If you're a school,
00:22:54.540 you can get
00:22:54.960 all of this new money
00:22:56.600 that is just being
00:22:57.340 showered upon you
00:22:58.200 with one requirement,
00:22:59.580 that you actually
00:23:01.060 be open
00:23:01.880 and teaching students
00:23:04.080 in person.
00:23:04.660 If you're teaching
00:23:05.240 them in person,
00:23:05.940 all this money
00:23:06.500 is yours,
00:23:07.080 go have a party,
00:23:07.820 you got all this money,
00:23:08.620 the Democrats
00:23:09.200 are in power.
00:23:10.460 But if you're not open,
00:23:13.000 if you have shut down
00:23:14.140 the schools,
00:23:14.660 if you are not teaching
00:23:15.880 in person,
00:23:17.200 at the time we were voting,
00:23:18.280 there were more,
00:23:19.340 there were 50%
00:23:21.620 of the kids in America
00:23:22.700 were not
00:23:23.500 in in-person schools
00:23:25.960 five days a week.
00:23:26.960 I said,
00:23:27.300 if you're not open,
00:23:28.800 you still get
00:23:29.960 all the money
00:23:30.380 you got yesterday,
00:23:31.180 you get all the billions
00:23:32.180 of dollars you got before,
00:23:33.320 but the new money,
00:23:34.800 we're not going
00:23:35.260 to pay you extra money
00:23:36.520 if you're not doing
00:23:37.420 the damn job
00:23:38.140 you're supposed
00:23:38.500 to be doing.
00:23:40.000 Instead,
00:23:40.800 the new billions
00:23:41.500 of dollars
00:23:42.020 will go to a scholarship
00:23:43.260 to the child,
00:23:44.860 $10,000 per child,
00:23:46.740 so if you shut
00:23:48.020 your school down,
00:23:49.220 that child can go
00:23:50.280 somewhere else
00:23:50.960 and actually get
00:23:51.780 an education.
00:23:53.120 Ben,
00:23:54.140 every single
00:23:55.600 Democrat
00:23:56.520 voted no.
00:23:58.160 It was a party line vote,
00:23:59.320 it failed by one vote.
00:24:00.440 I went,
00:24:01.140 I'll tell you,
00:24:01.520 I went and begged
00:24:02.180 Joe Manchin.
00:24:02.960 Joe Manchin,
00:24:03.960 back in 2017,
00:24:05.540 briefly voted with me
00:24:07.080 on my legislation
00:24:08.620 expanding College 529
00:24:10.220 savings plans
00:24:11.220 to K-12 education.
00:24:13.260 It was the most
00:24:13.800 far-reaching
00:24:14.760 federal school choice
00:24:15.680 legislation
00:24:16.220 that has ever passed.
00:24:17.900 Manchin voted with me
00:24:18.760 for five minutes
00:24:19.500 until Schumer
00:24:20.160 yelled at him
00:24:21.060 and he flipped his vote.
00:24:22.360 I went and asked Joe,
00:24:23.800 I said,
00:24:24.080 Joe,
00:24:24.340 you know this is
00:24:25.220 the right thing to do.
00:24:26.520 Every single Democrat
00:24:27.860 voted no.
00:24:28.840 They are all responsible
00:24:30.180 for the school shutdowns
00:24:31.520 and let me tell you
00:24:32.980 what the,
00:24:33.380 you mentioned the test scores.
00:24:34.700 I want to explain
00:24:35.260 that a little bit.
00:24:36.620 So every year
00:24:37.360 there's a test done
00:24:38.360 by a group
00:24:39.460 that is called NAEP
00:24:40.580 and it's the National
00:24:41.380 Association of Educational
00:24:42.740 Progress
00:24:43.320 and it does
00:24:45.140 national tests
00:24:46.600 on reading and math.
00:24:48.700 September 1st,
00:24:49.640 they released
00:24:50.860 the NAEP scores
00:24:51.740 for fourth graders.
00:24:53.940 The NAEP scores
00:24:54.660 showed an average
00:24:55.840 decline of five points
00:24:57.460 in reading
00:24:58.760 and seven points
00:25:01.120 in math
00:25:01.860 for fourth graders
00:25:02.780 for nine-year-olds
00:25:03.620 compared to 2020.
00:25:05.040 That was the largest
00:25:06.180 decline in reading scores
00:25:07.480 since 1990
00:25:08.320 and the first ever
00:25:09.940 decline in math scores
00:25:11.500 for fourth graders.
00:25:14.040 That was the result
00:25:15.500 of the Democrat shutdowns.
00:25:16.880 Not only that,
00:25:18.340 the racial divide,
00:25:19.700 unfortunately,
00:25:20.220 we have a divide
00:25:21.400 where African-American
00:25:23.020 students and Hispanic
00:25:24.140 students don't perform
00:25:25.260 as well on these tests
00:25:26.280 as white students
00:25:27.040 and obviously a lot
00:25:28.100 of time and energy
00:25:28.760 has been spent
00:25:29.540 into trying to correct
00:25:31.560 that racial divide.
00:25:32.680 Well, guess what?
00:25:34.760 The racial divide
00:25:35.800 grew bigger
00:25:36.620 under the Democrat shutdowns.
00:25:38.420 In particular,
00:25:39.160 math scores
00:25:39.700 for black students
00:25:40.660 declined 13 points.
00:25:43.300 Math scores
00:25:43.980 for Hispanic students
00:25:45.540 declined eight points
00:25:46.880 and math scores
00:25:47.840 for white students
00:25:49.280 declined five points.
00:25:50.540 So the effect
00:25:51.220 of the Democrats
00:25:51.940 was to hurt kids
00:25:53.960 across the country,
00:25:54.840 but especially hurt
00:25:56.100 low-income
00:25:57.200 and minority kids.
00:25:59.000 And for Jake to say,
00:26:00.780 I'm surprised
00:26:02.440 no one is having
00:26:03.460 a conversation.
00:26:05.220 I and many others
00:26:06.520 were screaming
00:26:07.580 on the Senate floor,
00:26:08.720 were forcing votes
00:26:09.620 on the Senate floor,
00:26:10.340 and you know what Jake
00:26:10.900 didn't do?
00:26:12.160 He never covered
00:26:13.020 the vote on the Senate floor.
00:26:14.300 It wasn't news,
00:26:15.900 according to CNN.
00:26:17.480 But Jake didn't even
00:26:18.540 look at all the parents
00:26:20.000 in real time
00:26:21.020 when the school closures
00:26:22.300 were carrying on
00:26:23.160 that were talking
00:26:24.500 about how far behind
00:26:25.700 their kids had gotten,
00:26:27.240 that they were saying
00:26:28.560 it was clear
00:26:29.120 they were behind.
00:26:30.040 They were worried
00:26:30.700 that their kids
00:26:31.320 are going to be
00:26:31.740 socially promoted.
00:26:33.260 There were parents
00:26:34.000 that were saying,
00:26:34.900 I know my kid
00:26:36.480 is not at the level
00:26:38.040 where they should be
00:26:38.680 graduating the grade
00:26:39.660 that they just said
00:26:40.480 they graduated with B's
00:26:41.940 or A's.
00:26:43.180 They were saying
00:26:44.300 this is a fraud.
00:26:45.300 This is a fraud.
00:26:46.160 I refer to it
00:26:47.040 as a form of child abuse.
00:26:48.220 When you set a kid up
00:26:49.580 for failure,
00:26:51.060 right?
00:26:51.560 To me,
00:26:52.680 I called it
00:26:53.180 the educational Ponzi scheme
00:26:54.600 in this country center
00:26:55.440 because you're taking money,
00:26:57.780 you're claiming
00:26:58.760 you're doing something
00:26:59.840 with the kids,
00:27:01.180 and you're not giving them
00:27:03.120 what they paid for,
00:27:04.300 what the money
00:27:04.980 was intended to pay for.
00:27:06.980 That, to me,
00:27:07.700 is a Ponzi scheme.
00:27:08.980 It's the worst kind
00:27:10.180 because these kids
00:27:11.040 are going to graduate
00:27:11.940 and they're going to
00:27:13.160 go on to society
00:27:14.020 and they're going to realize
00:27:15.220 they're not
00:27:15.940 at a 12th grade level.
00:27:17.800 They're at a 10th grade
00:27:18.780 or a 9th grade level
00:27:20.100 at that point in time.
00:27:22.320 Look, that's exactly right.
00:27:24.400 And by the way,
00:27:25.440 this is not just a problem
00:27:26.700 that happened in the past.
00:27:28.540 This is a problem
00:27:29.300 that is happening
00:27:30.000 right now today.
00:27:31.720 So the D.C. public schools
00:27:33.460 have imposed
00:27:34.660 a COVID vaccine mandate.
00:27:37.000 They've announced
00:27:37.780 they're going to
00:27:38.640 throw out of school
00:27:39.520 any student
00:27:41.020 that doesn't have
00:27:41.740 a COVID vaccine.
00:27:42.540 It's supposed to go
00:27:43.320 into effect in January.
00:27:45.660 Let me give you
00:27:46.460 some stats that show you
00:27:47.720 just how idiotic
00:27:48.920 this vaccine mandate is.
00:27:51.080 The D.C. public schools,
00:27:52.360 roughly 80% of the kids
00:27:53.740 have received
00:27:54.240 the COVID vaccine.
00:27:55.420 That means,
00:27:56.100 for those of you
00:27:56.680 doing math,
00:27:57.360 although after the last
00:27:58.740 two years,
00:27:59.300 doing math is harder
00:28:00.080 for people,
00:28:01.340 that means 20%
00:28:02.500 of the students
00:28:03.900 have not had
00:28:05.060 the COVID vaccine.
00:28:06.060 Now, let's look
00:28:06.700 on racial lines
00:28:07.860 because it's even
00:28:08.580 more exacerbated
00:28:09.640 when you look
00:28:10.080 on racial lines.
00:28:11.400 In the D.C. public schools,
00:28:13.320 roughly 60%
00:28:14.340 of the students
00:28:14.920 have received
00:28:15.400 the COVID vaccine.
00:28:16.220 That means 40%
00:28:17.440 of the black students
00:28:18.840 have not received
00:28:20.680 the COVID vaccine.
00:28:21.820 Just a couple of months ago,
00:28:23.180 I forced a vote
00:28:24.100 on the Senate floor
00:28:24.840 and I stood up
00:28:26.100 and said,
00:28:26.740 we should block
00:28:28.520 this vaccine mandate.
00:28:30.600 Why?
00:28:30.920 Because it's idiotic
00:28:32.080 to throw out
00:28:33.660 of school
00:28:34.500 40%
00:28:36.060 of the black kids
00:28:37.300 in the District of Columbia.
00:28:39.000 And I stood
00:28:39.620 on the Senate floor
00:28:40.340 and I argued
00:28:40.840 for the amendment
00:28:41.360 and I forced
00:28:42.000 an amendment
00:28:42.460 and Ben,
00:28:43.780 every single
00:28:45.220 Democrat
00:28:46.060 voted no.
00:28:47.280 All of them.
00:28:48.360 Every one of them.
00:28:49.540 Raphael Warnock
00:28:50.280 in Georgia
00:28:50.860 voted to throw
00:28:51.920 40% of the black kids
00:28:53.360 out of D.C. public schools.
00:28:54.420 And by the way,
00:28:55.140 this is not
00:28:55.700 some abstract point.
00:28:57.480 Let's say
00:28:58.060 you're a 13,
00:28:59.000 14,
00:28:59.600 15-year-old kid
00:29:00.620 at the D.C. public schools.
00:29:02.620 If they throw you out,
00:29:04.200 if they make you
00:29:05.220 a school dropout
00:29:06.880 involuntarily,
00:29:07.900 the chances skyrocket
00:29:10.360 that you go down
00:29:11.880 a road of crime,
00:29:13.520 of substance abuse,
00:29:15.240 of violence,
00:29:16.520 of incarceration,
00:29:17.720 and you have
00:29:18.600 a very good chance
00:29:19.640 of early death.
00:29:21.300 It is cruel.
00:29:22.900 I cannot imagine,
00:29:24.340 I gotta tell you,
00:29:25.100 I literally was looking
00:29:26.360 at my colleagues
00:29:27.240 and wondering,
00:29:29.440 like,
00:29:29.620 what in the hell
00:29:31.420 is going through
00:29:32.300 your mind
00:29:33.180 when you cast
00:29:35.220 a vote
00:29:35.840 to throw
00:29:36.400 40% of the black kids
00:29:37.920 out of the D.C. public schools.
00:29:40.240 And you know what
00:29:40.620 Jake Tapper didn't do?
00:29:42.280 He didn't cover it.
00:29:43.220 He didn't discuss it.
00:29:44.080 He's never asked
00:29:44.680 one Democrat,
00:29:45.520 not a single Democrat.
00:29:46.480 He has Democrats
00:29:46.980 on a show every week.
00:29:48.020 He's never asked
00:29:48.640 one of them,
00:29:49.560 why'd you vote
00:29:50.040 to throw 40%
00:29:51.200 of the black kids
00:29:51.840 out of the D.C. public schools?
00:29:53.920 That's what's amazing
00:29:55.000 for Tapper to say,
00:29:56.500 I'm surprised
00:29:57.880 there's not a conversation
00:29:59.080 about this.
00:30:00.080 There has been
00:30:00.740 a conversation
00:30:01.460 all across America.
00:30:02.680 There's just not
00:30:03.340 a conversation
00:30:04.000 on CNN
00:30:04.680 because CNN
00:30:05.920 is not
00:30:06.360 a journalistic outlet.
00:30:07.980 It is a pure
00:30:09.640 propaganda tool
00:30:10.940 for the hard left.
00:30:12.360 And so,
00:30:12.820 just because Jake
00:30:14.220 ain't talking about it,
00:30:15.640 that is a choice
00:30:16.820 trying to silence
00:30:18.640 and ignore
00:30:19.180 the real conversation
00:30:20.460 that was happening
00:30:21.680 and should have been
00:30:22.260 happening on CNN.
00:30:23.460 I think one of the
00:30:24.340 interesting points
00:30:25.280 that's going to end up
00:30:25.900 coming out of this,
00:30:26.600 Senator,
00:30:26.800 is the fact
00:30:27.240 that there's going
00:30:27.720 to be many,
00:30:28.760 many,
00:30:29.200 many parents.
00:30:32.140 They're going to
00:30:32.600 now start looking
00:30:33.780 at school choice
00:30:35.760 and vouchers
00:30:37.180 through a very
00:30:38.200 different lens
00:30:39.100 and conservatives
00:30:40.080 like you
00:30:40.700 who have been
00:30:41.080 talking about this
00:30:41.720 for decades
00:30:43.040 are going to
00:30:44.040 have to remind them
00:30:45.020 of how important
00:30:45.800 it is to give
00:30:46.600 parents the ability
00:30:47.560 to take their
00:30:48.780 children to the
00:30:49.460 school that best
00:30:50.200 serves them
00:30:51.320 and that is where
00:30:52.620 I think conservatives
00:30:53.500 can capitalize
00:30:54.400 on this absurdity
00:30:55.920 and there are going
00:30:56.720 to be parents
00:30:57.280 who are not going
00:30:57.760 to want to get
00:30:58.120 their kids vaccinated
00:30:59.020 and they deserve
00:31:00.260 to have their kids
00:31:01.080 get a quality education
00:31:02.320 and have the choice
00:31:03.260 to go to a school
00:31:03.960 that's willing
00:31:04.500 to serve their children
00:31:06.400 and that's something
00:31:07.280 that needs to be
00:31:07.640 on the ballot
00:31:08.020 in the midterms.
00:31:08.900 I will tell you,
00:31:09.620 by the way,
00:31:10.100 as a bit of good news,
00:31:11.740 given these idiotic
00:31:12.900 school shutdowns,
00:31:14.000 given the abuses
00:31:15.100 we've seen
00:31:15.980 from school boards
00:31:17.220 and blue state
00:31:18.760 politicians,
00:31:20.280 the national numbers
00:31:21.560 in support of school
00:31:22.660 choice have skyrocketed.
00:31:24.240 There was always
00:31:25.140 a majority
00:31:26.060 and in fact
00:31:26.680 a super majority
00:31:27.520 of voters
00:31:28.020 supported school choice
00:31:29.120 and by the way,
00:31:29.600 that's true
00:31:29.960 not just Republicans,
00:31:31.460 it's true
00:31:31.920 of independents
00:31:32.560 and it's true
00:31:32.960 of Democrats.
00:31:33.740 It's true
00:31:34.180 60 to 70 percent
00:31:35.900 of African Americans
00:31:37.240 in the United States
00:31:37.920 support school choice,
00:31:39.320 same numbers,
00:31:40.100 70 to 80 percent
00:31:41.000 of Hispanics
00:31:41.620 support school choice
00:31:42.620 and those numbers
00:31:44.100 keep going up
00:31:45.220 because so many parents
00:31:46.800 have seen
00:31:47.460 the disaster
00:31:48.420 that their kids
00:31:51.960 unfortunately
00:31:52.780 were subjected to.
00:31:54.540 I want to move
00:31:55.440 to this other issue
00:31:56.720 real quick,
00:31:57.340 Senator,
00:31:57.520 and that's coming
00:31:58.200 out of Canada.
00:32:00.720 I wouldn't be here
00:32:02.120 if it wasn't
00:32:02.940 for my right
00:32:03.440 to carry a firearm.
00:32:04.520 I was a target
00:32:05.780 of a gang initiation.
00:32:07.960 It was two people
00:32:09.260 that shot at us.
00:32:10.320 I was able to shoot back
00:32:11.440 and save my life.
00:32:12.580 I know how important
00:32:13.740 it is to be able
00:32:14.900 to protect
00:32:15.320 and defend yourself
00:32:16.240 but what's happening
00:32:17.200 in Canada right now
00:32:18.400 is truly unprecedented
00:32:20.200 and Trudeau announced
00:32:21.960 it implying
00:32:23.300 that the country
00:32:24.120 and the rest of the world
00:32:24.920 should be envious
00:32:25.960 to them.
00:32:26.440 Take a listen
00:32:27.360 and I'll get
00:32:27.700 your reaction.
00:32:29.200 In May,
00:32:29.980 our government
00:32:30.560 introduced measures
00:32:31.420 to implement
00:32:32.140 a national freeze
00:32:33.660 on handgun ownership.
00:32:35.600 Today,
00:32:36.240 our national freeze
00:32:38.080 on handguns
00:32:39.320 is coming into force.
00:32:40.660 From today forward,
00:32:43.540 it is no longer legal
00:32:45.440 to buy,
00:32:47.440 sell,
00:32:48.060 or transfer
00:32:49.000 a handgun
00:32:50.140 in Canada.
00:32:52.880 Senator,
00:32:53.500 this is something
00:32:54.460 that you would hear
00:32:55.840 back in Nazi Germany
00:32:57.260 to be honest
00:32:58.120 and now they're saying
00:32:59.540 it in Canada
00:33:00.180 like you should
00:33:00.960 cheer it on.
00:33:03.040 Well,
00:33:03.640 a couple of things
00:33:04.380 come to mind.
00:33:05.100 First of all,
00:33:06.300 this is the Democrat
00:33:07.440 vision for America.
00:33:08.600 This is what my colleagues
00:33:10.400 in the Senate want.
00:33:11.340 This is what
00:33:11.740 Dianne Feinstein wants.
00:33:13.040 This is what
00:33:13.460 Chuck Schumer wants.
00:33:14.480 This is what
00:33:14.920 Bernie Sanders wants.
00:33:16.400 This is what
00:33:16.980 Elizabeth Warren wants.
00:33:18.200 This is what
00:33:18.640 AOC wants.
00:33:19.620 This is what
00:33:20.180 Beto O'Rourke wants
00:33:21.860 where he says,
00:33:22.420 hell yes,
00:33:23.080 we're going to
00:33:23.640 take your guns.
00:33:24.380 This is what they want.
00:33:26.120 This is their desire.
00:33:27.580 They are pretending
00:33:28.560 sometimes they don't
00:33:29.880 want this,
00:33:30.880 but they are looking
00:33:31.940 at Justin Trudeau
00:33:33.320 with envy
00:33:34.060 because this
00:33:34.860 is their objective.
00:33:36.120 Now,
00:33:37.180 why have they not
00:33:38.020 been able to
00:33:38.680 implement it so far
00:33:39.820 in the United States?
00:33:40.820 Two reasons.
00:33:42.320 One,
00:33:42.920 politically,
00:33:44.100 there are
00:33:45.400 tens of millions
00:33:47.220 of Americans
00:33:47.980 who care
00:33:49.360 about defending
00:33:50.360 our right
00:33:51.780 to keep
00:33:52.620 and bear arms,
00:33:53.320 about defending
00:33:53.980 our right
00:33:54.500 to protect
00:33:55.120 our homes
00:33:55.640 and our families
00:33:56.300 and our children.
00:33:57.980 Secondly,
00:33:59.220 we have
00:34:00.120 the Second Amendment
00:34:01.260 to the Constitution.
00:34:02.460 Canada,
00:34:02.980 obviously,
00:34:03.440 is not bound
00:34:04.020 by our Constitution.
00:34:04.740 They don't have
00:34:06.500 a Second Amendment
00:34:07.120 and the left
00:34:09.080 hates the Second Amendment.
00:34:10.440 They wish it
00:34:11.020 didn't exist
00:34:11.900 and it is hard
00:34:13.880 to find
00:34:14.560 a more powerful
00:34:16.240 current example
00:34:17.200 of why the Second Amendment
00:34:18.680 is important.
00:34:21.100 Democrats in Congress
00:34:22.720 would do
00:34:23.500 what Justin Trudeau
00:34:24.620 is doing
00:34:25.180 today
00:34:25.940 if they could.
00:34:28.300 They can't
00:34:29.540 because the Second Amendment
00:34:30.920 says the right
00:34:32.460 of the people
00:34:32.980 to keep
00:34:33.360 and bear arms
00:34:34.120 shall not
00:34:35.580 be infringed
00:34:36.760 and it's important
00:34:37.540 to emphasize.
00:34:39.180 The reason
00:34:40.140 the Second Amendment
00:34:41.120 is in the Constitution
00:34:42.040 is obviously
00:34:43.320 right after
00:34:43.820 the First Amendment,
00:34:45.500 right at the top
00:34:46.540 of the Bill of Rights.
00:34:47.940 It's not about
00:34:49.260 target shooting.
00:34:50.380 It's not about hunting.
00:34:51.420 It's not about
00:34:52.380 skeet shooting.
00:34:54.900 The Second Amendment
00:34:55.980 is fundamentally
00:34:56.820 about the right
00:34:57.800 to protect
00:34:58.560 your life
00:34:59.240 and your family.
00:35:00.460 It is about
00:35:00.940 the right
00:35:01.500 that if someone
00:35:02.660 comes into your home
00:35:03.800 seeking to harm
00:35:05.660 your children,
00:35:06.480 seeking to harm
00:35:07.240 your wife,
00:35:08.640 that you have
00:35:09.800 a fundamental right,
00:35:10.980 a God-given right
00:35:11.960 to defend your life
00:35:13.700 and to defend
00:35:14.240 your family.
00:35:15.240 And that's what
00:35:15.840 the right to keep
00:35:16.460 and bear arms
00:35:17.040 is all about.
00:35:18.120 Look, Ben,
00:35:18.580 what you went through,
00:35:20.380 you were attacked
00:35:22.760 by criminals
00:35:24.000 with guns
00:35:25.060 and the fact
00:35:25.780 that you
00:35:26.420 exercised your right
00:35:28.420 to keep and bear arms
00:35:29.600 saved your life.
00:35:30.640 How old were you
00:35:31.440 when that happened, Ben?
00:35:32.280 I was 23 or 4
00:35:35.580 at the time
00:35:36.100 if I remember correctly.
00:35:38.220 That's a fundamental right
00:35:39.800 that the left
00:35:40.520 doesn't want you to have.
00:35:41.740 And I'll give you
00:35:42.260 a statistic
00:35:42.820 from the Obama White House,
00:35:45.560 not normally
00:35:46.560 a source
00:35:47.840 of right-wing statistics.
00:35:50.380 The Obama White House
00:35:51.920 laid out
00:35:54.220 that every year
00:35:55.180 in the United States
00:35:56.180 firearms are used
00:35:57.740 defensively
00:35:58.900 to stop a crime
00:36:00.340 between 500,000
00:36:03.320 and 1 million times
00:36:04.920 every year.
00:36:06.060 That's a stat
00:36:06.820 from the Obama White House.
00:36:08.040 Yours was one of them,
00:36:08.900 so you were one
00:36:09.620 of that 500,000
00:36:10.760 to a million that year.
00:36:13.460 What Trudeau
00:36:15.100 is saying in Canada
00:36:16.080 and what liberals
00:36:18.900 and Democrats
00:36:20.440 in America
00:36:21.180 are saying
00:36:21.780 is they want
00:36:22.880 that number
00:36:23.340 to drop to zero.
00:36:24.760 And you know
00:36:25.260 what will happen
00:36:25.880 as a result?
00:36:26.620 If you don't have
00:36:27.380 a right to keep
00:36:27.980 and bear arms,
00:36:28.580 if you don't have
00:36:29.080 a right to protect yourself,
00:36:30.680 there will be more murders
00:36:32.280 because the murderers
00:36:34.180 will have their guns,
00:36:35.400 but no one will have
00:36:36.740 the ability
00:36:37.100 to defend themselves.
00:36:38.240 There will be more rapes
00:36:39.780 because the rapists
00:36:41.320 will have their weapons
00:36:42.480 and no one will have
00:36:45.660 the ability
00:36:46.060 to defend themselves.
00:36:46.960 There will be
00:36:47.300 more violent assaults.
00:36:49.300 Look,
00:36:49.640 when you saw
00:36:50.340 Antifa
00:36:51.020 and Black Lives Matter
00:36:52.280 riots
00:36:52.880 all across the country,
00:36:54.420 it was the people
00:36:55.060 that had the ability
00:36:55.800 to defend themselves
00:36:56.760 who had at least
00:36:57.540 some check
00:36:59.640 to the lawless
00:37:03.120 violence
00:37:03.880 that was waging outside
00:37:05.500 and Democrats
00:37:06.840 want to take away
00:37:08.400 your ability
00:37:09.340 to keep yourself safe
00:37:11.300 and this is a really
00:37:12.660 chilling reminder
00:37:13.520 that this is not fanciful.
00:37:15.980 This is reality
00:37:18.240 and we're saying it
00:37:19.520 just to our northern neighbor.
00:37:21.340 Senator,
00:37:22.020 one last thing
00:37:22.720 and I want to bring this up
00:37:23.720 and I know you've got to run
00:37:24.720 to the airport in a second
00:37:26.120 but I think this is
00:37:27.240 very important
00:37:28.180 that we mention it
00:37:29.000 to everyone listening
00:37:30.140 to Verdict today
00:37:30.860 and that's this.
00:37:32.660 The balance of the Senate
00:37:34.780 could very likely,
00:37:37.240 there's a real possibility,
00:37:39.160 could come down
00:37:40.260 to a race in Utah.
00:37:42.340 There is a race in Utah
00:37:43.720 with Senator Mike Lee.
00:37:45.140 We mentioned it
00:37:45.900 on this show last week.
00:37:47.660 This is a race
00:37:48.700 that Democrats
00:37:49.820 understand the value
00:37:51.280 of this fake Democrat
00:37:53.880 he's running
00:37:54.340 as an independent.
00:37:55.580 They understand
00:37:56.080 that he's valuable
00:37:56.900 to them possibly
00:37:57.600 holding control
00:37:58.440 of the Senate.
00:37:59.620 The amount of money
00:38:00.560 that's coming in
00:38:01.300 from outside the state of Utah
00:38:02.420 is going to end up
00:38:03.720 being historic
00:38:04.620 in Utah politics
00:38:06.720 and this is a race
00:38:09.200 that many of you
00:38:10.400 listening to Verdict
00:38:11.380 right now,
00:38:12.280 if you can,
00:38:13.760 donate to Senator Mike Lee.
00:38:15.500 He's a good friend of yours.
00:38:16.700 He's a good man
00:38:17.480 running for office there.
00:38:19.120 Get involved.
00:38:20.140 If you have family
00:38:21.120 or friends in Utah,
00:38:22.720 you need to be reaching out
00:38:24.160 to them and advocating
00:38:25.080 for Senator Mike Lee
00:38:26.160 and this is a race
00:38:27.540 that Democrats
00:38:28.120 are going all in on.
00:38:29.500 This is also a race
00:38:30.400 that may end up
00:38:30.960 taking you back to Utah
00:38:32.200 even though you were
00:38:32.980 just with them
00:38:33.480 on that bus trip
00:38:34.200 because it's going
00:38:34.720 to be so important.
00:38:36.120 No, that's exactly right.
00:38:38.000 This race is dangerous.
00:38:39.620 It's a real race.
00:38:40.540 There's a real possibility
00:38:41.640 that Mike could lose
00:38:42.720 and the reason is
00:38:44.420 what is happening in Utah
00:38:45.900 is one of the most dishonest
00:38:47.540 and deceptive things
00:38:48.540 I've ever seen in politics
00:38:50.360 and it's several things
00:38:52.220 coming together.
00:38:53.000 You have Evan McMullin
00:38:54.220 who you remember in 2016
00:38:55.980 ran as an independent
00:38:57.460 against Donald Trump
00:38:59.660 and Hillary Clinton
00:39:00.400 and he claimed
00:39:01.180 he was kind of a nice Republican.
00:39:04.100 He wasn't Trump
00:39:05.020 and he was just a nice guy
00:39:06.300 and he ended up getting
00:39:07.720 a lot of votes in Utah.
00:39:09.860 He's Mormon
00:39:10.540 and folks in Utah
00:39:13.800 that didn't like
00:39:15.420 what Trump said
00:39:16.340 and how he talked
00:39:17.100 they voted for McMullin.
00:39:19.400 All right, fast forward to now
00:39:20.640 McMullin is one of the many
00:39:22.180 never Trump Republicans
00:39:23.980 who are broken
00:39:24.820 who are shattered
00:39:25.680 who are so filled
00:39:27.080 with hate for Donald Trump
00:39:28.320 that they've abandoned
00:39:29.800 everything they claim to believe.
00:39:32.460 So McMullin is now running
00:39:33.920 as a quote
00:39:35.140 independent in Utah.
00:39:37.180 He is not an independent.
00:39:38.660 Evan McMullin is a Democrat
00:39:40.840 who will elect Chuck Schumer.
00:39:42.920 My confidence level
00:39:44.400 on that is 100%.
00:39:46.120 Let me lay out why.
00:39:48.220 So McMullin is claiming
00:39:49.880 he says
00:39:51.120 I will not conference
00:39:52.540 with either side.
00:39:53.600 I'm not going to caucus
00:39:54.320 with the Republicans.
00:39:55.280 I'm not going to caucus
00:39:55.940 with the Democrats.
00:39:57.160 I'm going to be a happy
00:39:58.620 independent floating
00:40:00.100 like a bee
00:40:00.980 just peaceful and happy.
00:40:03.480 Well, let me give you
00:40:04.940 some data points.
00:40:06.600 Number one,
00:40:07.380 the Democrat Party
00:40:08.320 in Utah
00:40:09.200 did not run a Democrat.
00:40:11.680 They chose
00:40:12.260 let's not have a Democrat
00:40:13.260 at all.
00:40:13.740 So they didn't nominate anyone.
00:40:15.780 Number two,
00:40:17.060 the Democrat Party
00:40:17.980 in Utah
00:40:18.540 formally endorsed
00:40:20.840 Evan McMullin.
00:40:22.740 So they're telling
00:40:23.740 all the Democrats
00:40:24.460 vote for McMullin.
00:40:26.220 Number three,
00:40:27.200 McMullin is raising
00:40:28.340 his money using ActBlue,
00:40:30.100 which is the online portal
00:40:31.480 that you have
00:40:32.580 left-wingers
00:40:33.240 and socialists
00:40:33.900 and Democrats
00:40:34.400 from all over the country
00:40:35.340 fueling millions
00:40:36.560 and millions
00:40:37.140 of dollars
00:40:37.580 into the race.
00:40:38.240 He's being funded
00:40:39.220 by the same people
00:40:40.700 that fund Bernie Sanders
00:40:41.860 and AOC
00:40:42.420 and Elizabeth Warren.
00:40:44.940 Number four,
00:40:46.120 just in the last quarter,
00:40:47.440 Evan McMullin spent
00:40:48.340 $1.6 million
00:40:49.860 going to Democrat
00:40:51.280 consultants
00:40:51.860 and operatives
00:40:52.700 who were running
00:40:53.700 his campaign.
00:40:55.380 Number five,
00:40:57.020 in the last few days,
00:40:59.020 he had a fundraiser
00:41:00.860 hosted by John Tester
00:41:02.560 who used to lead
00:41:03.960 the Democratic
00:41:05.180 Senatorial Committee,
00:41:06.500 the political arm
00:41:07.980 of Chuck Schumer
00:41:08.840 that is devoted
00:41:09.960 to electing Democrats
00:41:11.880 and to keeping Schumer
00:41:12.920 as majority leader.
00:41:14.240 John Tester knows
00:41:15.020 exactly what he's doing,
00:41:16.480 which is trying
00:41:18.080 to put in place
00:41:19.060 someone who will vote
00:41:20.800 for Chuck Schumer.
00:41:21.940 Now,
00:41:22.760 why is it dangerous?
00:41:24.380 Why is bright red Utah
00:41:25.720 even competitive?
00:41:28.000 Well,
00:41:28.240 the reason it's dangerous
00:41:29.240 is McMullin is getting
00:41:31.080 all of the Democrats
00:41:32.260 and there are 40-some-odd
00:41:33.480 percent of voters
00:41:34.600 in Utah are Democrats.
00:41:36.680 And then he is picking up
00:41:38.020 some of the moderate Republicans,
00:41:41.560 some of the more moderate Republicans.
00:41:45.360 So if you look at
00:41:45.980 McMullin's campaign ads,
00:41:47.980 he looks like a Republican.
00:41:49.320 He talks about securing
00:41:50.400 the border.
00:41:51.080 He talks,
00:41:51.480 I mean,
00:41:51.780 everything he talks about
00:41:53.060 is Republican.
00:41:54.280 Because he knows Democrat,
00:41:55.440 if he was a real Democrat,
00:41:56.520 he couldn't win this thing.
00:41:57.880 That's why they've had to lie
00:41:59.040 to the people
00:42:00.560 and imply that he's
00:42:01.780 actually somehow
00:42:03.000 an independent,
00:42:04.780 conservative,
00:42:05.740 Republican-esque candidate.
00:42:07.920 That's why this is a big lie.
00:42:10.940 Well,
00:42:11.200 and Ben,
00:42:11.580 let me tell you the question
00:42:13.000 that Evan McMullin
00:42:14.920 should be forced to answer,
00:42:17.400 but because we have
00:42:18.700 a corporate media
00:42:19.420 that are not actually journalists,
00:42:20.860 he hasn't been forced
00:42:21.560 to answer it.
00:42:22.980 He says,
00:42:23.660 well,
00:42:23.780 I'm not going to caucus
00:42:24.640 with either side,
00:42:25.380 so isn't that
00:42:25.960 wonderfully independent?
00:42:26.940 That's not the question.
00:42:29.040 Let's suppose in January,
00:42:31.900 we have 50 Republican senators
00:42:34.040 that are elected,
00:42:35.860 and we have 49 Democrat senators
00:42:38.920 that are elected,
00:42:41.060 and Evan McMullin.
00:42:44.120 If that happens,
00:42:47.320 McMullin will have a choice,
00:42:48.840 and he will have to vote.
00:42:49.900 It doesn't matter
00:42:50.360 who he caucuses with.
00:42:51.380 It doesn't matter
00:42:51.620 who he has lunch with.
00:42:52.820 At the opening of the Senate,
00:42:54.560 he will have a vote,
00:42:55.380 and he will have
00:42:55.720 one of two choices.
00:42:56.580 If he does nothing,
00:42:58.440 if he abstains,
00:42:59.420 if he votes for Mickey Mouse,
00:43:01.580 then Republicans
00:43:03.000 will be the majority
00:43:03.880 of the Senate.
00:43:06.160 On the other hand,
00:43:07.800 if he votes for Chuck Schumer,
00:43:11.600 Kamala Harris as vice president
00:43:13.200 will break the 50-50 tie,
00:43:15.100 and the Democrats
00:43:16.000 will be the majority.
00:43:17.860 Now,
00:43:18.060 if Chuck Schumer
00:43:18.700 is the majority leader,
00:43:20.780 what will that mean?
00:43:21.760 That will mean
00:43:22.440 that Bernie Sanders
00:43:23.360 will remain
00:43:24.040 the budget chairman.
00:43:25.260 That will mean
00:43:26.080 that Dick Durbin
00:43:26.920 will remain
00:43:27.420 the chairman of judiciary,
00:43:28.760 which means
00:43:29.500 we will do nothing
00:43:30.440 to have oversight
00:43:31.540 of the Biden administration.
00:43:32.520 We will do nothing
00:43:33.600 to have oversight
00:43:34.520 of the corruption
00:43:35.140 of this administration.
00:43:36.080 We will do nothing
00:43:36.900 to examine
00:43:37.940 the origins of COVID-19
00:43:39.460 and the Wuhan Institute
00:43:40.420 for Virology.
00:43:41.520 We'll do nothing
00:43:42.400 to examine the evidence
00:43:44.080 of Hunter Biden
00:43:44.760 and Joe Biden's
00:43:45.480 corruption with China.
00:43:46.860 We will do nothing
00:43:47.640 to secure the border,
00:43:48.600 just like the Democrats
00:43:49.640 have done nothing
00:43:50.280 for the last two years.
00:43:52.460 And by the way,
00:43:53.300 if you think
00:43:53.980 that that is an outcome
00:43:56.080 that McMullen doesn't like,
00:44:00.020 he voted for Joe Biden.
00:44:02.120 He voted for Joe Biden.
00:44:03.560 He actively defends Joe Biden.
00:44:05.160 And yet,
00:44:06.340 they are deceiving the voters
00:44:08.920 because the voters
00:44:09.800 are thinking,
00:44:10.560 well, he's kind of,
00:44:11.220 sort of Republican.
00:44:12.060 No.
00:44:13.080 He is a Democrat
00:44:14.660 through and through,
00:44:16.020 and no reporter
00:44:17.660 has asked him the question.
00:44:19.640 Mr. McMullen,
00:44:20.860 if there are 50 Republicans
00:44:22.780 and 49 Democrats,
00:44:25.100 your vote will determine
00:44:27.120 who has the majority.
00:44:29.680 It doesn't matter
00:44:30.180 who you caucus with.
00:44:31.060 That's not an answer.
00:44:33.040 Which way will you vote?
00:44:34.980 And the odds,
00:44:36.460 I believe,
00:44:37.020 are 100.000%.
00:44:39.800 He will vote
00:44:41.160 for Chuck Schumer
00:44:41.980 and empower
00:44:43.160 the lawless corruption
00:44:45.020 we have seen
00:44:46.000 in Washington.
00:44:46.720 If you want to help
00:44:48.360 Senator Lee,
00:44:49.120 you can go to
00:44:49.900 LeeForSenate.com
00:44:52.280 LeeForSenate.com
00:44:54.340 and tell your family
00:44:55.740 and friends
00:44:56.260 if they are out there
00:44:57.160 and able to vote
00:44:58.040 in Utah
00:44:58.780 about the importance
00:45:00.440 of this race.
00:45:01.100 If you want to take
00:45:02.060 articles
00:45:02.680 I've written about Lee,
00:45:04.320 post them on social media,
00:45:05.680 tell your friends,
00:45:06.400 just support Lee
00:45:07.420 and help that go viral.
00:45:09.640 It's so important
00:45:10.680 in this race.
00:45:11.560 And Ben,
00:45:12.020 let me say
00:45:12.420 two other things.
00:45:13.220 Number one,
00:45:16.280 so let's take
00:45:16.900 the question of life.
00:45:18.720 When McMullen
00:45:19.580 was running
00:45:20.100 for president in 2016,
00:45:21.240 he claimed to be pro-life.
00:45:23.320 He claimed to want
00:45:24.680 to see Roe vs. Wade
00:45:25.660 overturned.
00:45:27.500 Now that it actually
00:45:28.580 has been overturned,
00:45:30.500 McMullen has had
00:45:31.240 a change of heart.
00:45:32.020 He suddenly realizes,
00:45:33.180 oh crap,
00:45:33.560 I need to get all
00:45:34.080 the Democrats
00:45:34.500 to vote for me.
00:45:35.200 So he's now against
00:45:36.240 Roe vs. Wade
00:45:36.980 being overturned.
00:45:38.660 Just today online,
00:45:42.560 Robbie George,
00:45:43.520 Robbie George
00:45:44.080 is a professor
00:45:44.660 at Princeton University.
00:45:45.800 He was my thesis advisor
00:45:47.060 in college.
00:45:47.760 He is one of the most
00:45:48.620 respected conservatives
00:45:50.420 in the country.
00:45:51.380 He is a man
00:45:52.520 of impeccable character,
00:45:53.840 a man of impeccable judgment.
00:45:55.860 He wrote a detailed
00:45:56.900 description about
00:45:57.860 Evan McMullen
00:45:58.460 calling him in 2016
00:46:00.440 and trying to get
00:46:02.600 his support
00:46:03.120 in the 2016 campaign.
00:46:04.600 And Robbie wrote
00:46:05.280 how he asked him
00:46:06.040 at great length
00:46:06.820 about life
00:46:07.960 and about his support
00:46:08.980 for life.
00:46:09.600 And he said
00:46:10.560 McMullen swore up and down
00:46:12.000 he was opposed to Roe
00:46:13.000 and he would fight against it.
00:46:14.920 And Robbie just recounts
00:46:16.640 how everything he said
00:46:17.880 to me,
00:46:18.200 either he was lying
00:46:19.140 through his teeth then
00:46:20.280 or he believes nothing
00:46:23.020 and is willing to change it
00:46:24.140 for convenience now.
00:46:25.120 It really is a devastating
00:46:26.960 indictment
00:46:28.840 because it shows,
00:46:31.180 what it shows
00:46:31.920 is that he's a Democrat,
00:46:32.760 that he's an opportunist
00:46:34.060 and he's taking advantage
00:46:36.360 of deception.
00:46:38.320 I'll say secondly,
00:46:40.380 you want to understand
00:46:41.200 what the stakes are
00:46:42.220 in this race.
00:46:44.160 If Schumer is still
00:46:45.480 majority leader
00:46:46.260 because people in Utah
00:46:47.400 have been fooled
00:46:48.060 into voting for Evan McMullen
00:46:49.240 and there's another vacancy
00:46:52.120 on the Supreme Court,
00:46:53.760 the Democrats will ram
00:46:55.360 through another
00:46:56.020 left-wing ideologue
00:46:57.180 who will undermine
00:46:58.140 our free speech rights,
00:46:59.260 our religious liberty rights,
00:47:00.600 our Second Amendment,
00:47:01.720 all of our fundamental rights.
00:47:03.220 So when you are voting,
00:47:04.460 if you vote for Evan McMullen,
00:47:05.700 you are voting
00:47:06.860 to take away
00:47:07.500 religious liberty
00:47:08.320 from Americans
00:47:09.860 and from people in Utah.
00:47:12.140 Not only that,
00:47:14.040 McMullen has said
00:47:15.260 that he supports
00:47:16.440 S-1.
00:47:19.340 What is S-1?
00:47:20.620 S-1 is Chuck Schumer's
00:47:23.440 number one priority.
00:47:24.500 It is the federal takeover
00:47:25.620 of elections.
00:47:26.920 It strikes down
00:47:27.900 virtually every voter
00:47:29.720 integrity law
00:47:30.460 in the country.
00:47:31.020 It strikes down
00:47:31.620 photo ID laws.
00:47:32.880 It strikes down
00:47:33.740 prohibitions on ballot harvesting.
00:47:35.420 It automatically registers
00:47:37.580 millions of illegal aliens
00:47:39.100 to vote.
00:47:40.340 The purpose of S-1
00:47:42.020 is to ensure
00:47:42.940 that Democrats
00:47:43.740 will remain
00:47:45.320 in power forever
00:47:46.780 and that it becomes
00:47:47.680 effectively impossible
00:47:48.840 to vote them out.
00:47:49.960 The fact that
00:47:51.080 McMullen supports that
00:47:53.160 makes perfectly clear
00:47:55.420 that if you vote for him,
00:47:59.120 you are voting
00:48:00.120 for Chuck Schumer
00:48:01.040 and that is
00:48:01.960 absolutely
00:48:03.560 tragically
00:48:05.060 unacceptable
00:48:05.760 I think
00:48:06.360 to a large majority
00:48:07.500 of people
00:48:09.440 from Utah,
00:48:10.220 even very moderate
00:48:11.020 people from Utah,
00:48:12.420 they don't like
00:48:13.600 what the Democrats
00:48:14.300 are doing
00:48:14.880 and they need
00:48:15.360 to understand
00:48:16.080 McMullen and the media
00:48:17.580 are lying to them
00:48:18.880 by suggesting
00:48:19.720 that he would be
00:48:20.920 anything other than
00:48:22.240 a Democrat foot
00:48:23.360 soldier for Chuck Schumer.
00:48:25.000 Yeah, get involved,
00:48:26.480 go to the website
