00:01:17.800 And Joe Biden is prepared to fund those zealots while Chuck Schumer has decided
00:01:23.920 that the target of his ire should be the elected leader of Israel.

00:03:22.500 and why this timing is so significant.
00:03:25.500 I think it has a lot to do with the State of the Union.

00:03:29.380 It was pretty clear that the president was kind of changing a little bit
00:03:33.940 his perspective and his words on Israel.
00:03:37.540 He was also caught on a hot mic that we talked about here on Verdict as well.
00:03:42.020 And as I watched Chuck Schumer say these words on the floor of the Senate yesterday,
00:03:47.840 there was honestly a part of me that I'm like,
00:03:50.500 I'm not even sure Chuck Schumer believes this,
00:03:52.540 and I want your take on that.
00:03:53.880 Maybe he really does.
00:03:54.840 But it was almost like it was a decision made within the Democratic Party.
00:04:00.020 Okay, we got to get people younger.
00:04:02.440 And a lot of the radicals of the Democratic Party,
00:04:04.880 the socialists and the Marxists and the communists,
00:04:07.840 they hate Israel.
00:04:09.020 They support Hamas and the Palestinians.
00:04:12.440 They believe that Israel is evil.
00:04:14.520 So let's placate to them.
00:04:16.380 I'll go give this speech that I would have never given before.
00:04:19.500 And maybe that'll get them back in an excitement to vote for us.
00:04:23.800 Is there a possibility that could have been part of what this is about,

00:04:28.760 Or do you believe he actually believes what he's saying about getting rid of Netanyahu?

00:04:34.340 Yes, I believe he believes what he's saying.
00:04:38.120 The Democrats have hated Netanyahu from the beginning.
00:04:41.160 They despise him.
00:04:42.660 They view him.
00:04:44.180 Democrats view Netanyahu as the Israeli equivalent of Donald Trump.
00:04:48.300 And they hate him with a comparable fury.
00:04:51.620 And much of that stems back to when Barack Obama was president
00:04:56.020 and Obama pushed forward the catastrophic Iran nuclear deal.
00:05:01.920 And they tried to muscle all of our allies into accepting it.
00:05:07.160 And the Obama White House tried to muscle congressional Democrats into accepting it.
00:05:12.380 Virtually every single congressional Democrat meekly knuckled under
00:05:16.860 to the Obama White House's pressure.
00:05:19.200 And Benjamin Netanyahu heroically stood up and said,
00:05:23.460 this is an existential threat to Israel.
00:05:25.680 That when the Ayatollah says death to Israel,
00:05:29.060 a nuclear Iran poses a very real threat of a mushroom cloud over Tehran or Jerusalem.
00:05:35.940 And it is the one threat on the face of the planet capable of once again murdering six million Jews.
00:05:43.740 If never again is to mean anything, Netanyahu argued rightly,
00:05:48.000 we cannot allow Iran to have a nuclear weapon.
00:05:50.980 And I'll tell you, Democrats have never forgiven him for daring to stand up to the Obama White House.
00:05:58.800 And I remember at the time there was a Republican House of Representatives
00:06:04.260 that invited Benjamin Netanyahu to speak to address a joint session of Congress.

00:06:09.460 I heard that speech.
00:06:11.100 It was an historic speech.
00:06:13.060 It was a speech that I described then and I still consider to be Churchillian
00:06:17.200 in terms of its clarity, in terms of its strength,
00:06:20.760 in terms of its unwillingness to knuckle under.
00:06:23.940 And yet even back then, multiple Democrats boycotted the speech,
00:06:28.660 refused even to listen to the elected prime minister of Israel.
00:06:33.920 Well, that hatred is real.
00:06:36.260 That's one thing that's going on.
00:06:37.600 But then a second thing that's going on that is in many ways even more concerning
00:06:42.520 is the Democrat Party day by day by day is turning against Israel.
00:06:47.820 If you look at polling numbers now among Democrats,
00:06:50.780 if you ask Democrats, whom do you support, Israel or the Palestinians,
00:06:55.740 the numbers are growing every single day of Democrats who say,
00:06:59.760 we're with the Palestinians.
00:07:02.340 And here's the dirty little secret.
00:07:04.860 Some people are saying, well, it's just the squad.
00:07:07.100 It's just the radical anti-Semites on the far left of the Democrat Party.
00:07:11.760 They're the ones doing it.
00:07:12.940 And the crazies on college campuses.
00:07:15.520 I'll tell you, Ben, it's a lot more concerning than that.
00:07:17.840 It is the Biden White House.
00:07:19.920 It is Chuck Schumer, the self-declared guardian of Israel,
00:07:24.600 who is the median of the Democratic Party,
00:07:28.780 is steadily turning against Israel.
00:07:30.660 Here, just play Schumer's comments on the floor yesterday.
00:07:35.880 Israeli side, the U.S. government should demand that Israel conduct itself
00:07:41.840 with a future two-state solution in mind.
00:07:44.340 We should not be forced into a position of unequivocally supporting the actions of an Israeli government
00:07:51.160 that include bigots who reject the idea of a Palestinian state.
00:07:57.000 Israel is a democracy.
00:07:59.480 Five months into this conflict, it is clear that Israelis need to take stock of the situation
00:08:05.840 and ask, must we change course?
00:08:09.680 At this critical juncture, I believe a new election is the only way to allow for a healthy
00:08:18.080 and open decision-making process about the future of Israel,
00:08:22.140 at a time when so many Israelis have lost their confidence in the vision and direction of their government.
00:08:29.820 I also believe a majority of the Israeli public will recognize the need for change,
00:08:35.680 and I believe that holding a new election, once the war starts to wind down,
00:08:41.240 would give Israelis an opportunity to express their vision for the post-war future.
00:08:48.140 Of course, the United States cannot dictate the outcome of an election, nor should we try.
00:08:54.880 That is for the Israeli public to decide.
00:08:59.380 A public that I believe understands better than anybody
00:09:02.640 that Israel cannot hope to succeed as a pariah opposed by the rest of the world.
00:09:10.400 As a democracy, Israel has the right to choose its own leaders,
00:09:15.040 and we should let the chips fall where they may.
00:09:18.060 But the important thing is that Israelis are given a choice.
00:09:21.220 There needs to be a fresh debate about the future of Israel after October 7th.
00:09:27.540 In my opinion, that is best accomplished by holding an election.
00:09:34.340 If Prime Minister Netanyahu's current coalition remains in power after the war begins to wind down,
00:09:41.660 and continues to pursue dangerous and inflammatory policies that test existing U.S. standards for assistance,
00:09:48.380 then the United States will have no choice but to play a more active role in shaping Israeli policy
00:09:54.700 by using our leverage to change the present course.
00:09:59.980 The United States' bond with Israel is unbreakable,
00:10:03.500 but if extremists continue to unduly influence Israeli policy,
00:10:07.880 then the administration should use the tools at its disposal
00:10:10.840 to make sure our support for Israel is aligned with our broader goal
00:10:14.980 of achieving long-term peace and stability in the region.
00:10:19.560 I believe this would make a lasting two-state solution more likely.
00:10:25.720 Senator, you hear that.
00:10:26.940 I mean, he's basically giving the talking points for the Palestinian and Hamas.
00:10:31.320 Well, he's giving the talking points for the left wing of the Democrat Party.
00:10:38.240 And, all right, let's stop for a second.
00:10:42.040 One line that Schumer says there, he says,
00:10:45.100 Israel is a democracy, and that's true.
00:10:47.760 And he says they need to have an election.
00:10:49.940 Well, they did have an election.
00:10:52.160 They had an election, and Benjamin Netanyahu was elected.
00:10:56.100 He's the elected leader.
00:10:57.400 How would Schumer feel if Netanyahu gave a speech and said,
00:11:05.380 America is a democracy, and they should call an election today
00:11:09.400 to determine if Joe Biden should still be president?
00:11:12.800 That's what Schumer just said,
00:11:14.760 that he doesn't give a damn who the people of Israel elected.
00:11:19.500 Netanyahu was elected in a fair and square election.
00:11:22.060 Nobody disputes that.
00:11:23.660 It's just Chuck Schumer and the rest of the Democrat Party
00:11:27.260 doesn't like the choice that the people of Israel made.
00:11:33.700 And there is an arrogance to, if you listen to what he says,
00:11:38.080 he says there should be an immediate election.
00:11:40.560 And then he says if they elect Netanyahu again,

00:12:12.220 Well, Benny Gantz, from the opposing party in Israel,
00:12:15.380 he put out a statement yesterday.
00:12:17.500 Here was Benny Gantz's statement, quote,
00:12:19.080 The United States and Israel share common values and interests,
00:12:22.940 and the citizens of Israel profoundly cherish
00:12:25.740 the clear stance of the United States in support of Israel
00:12:28.720 throughout these trying times.
00:12:30.960 The Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer is a friend of Israel,
00:12:34.360 and though he erred in his remarks,
00:12:37.440 plays an important role in assisting the state of Israel,
00:12:39.980 including during these difficult times.
00:12:43.640 Israel is a robust democracy,
00:12:45.740 and only its citizens will decide its future and leadership.
00:12:50.600 Any external interference on the matter
00:12:52.760 is counterproductive and unacceptable.
00:12:56.040 Well, what do you think Schumer was doing right there?

00:13:05.340 there is consensus that Israel must defeat Hamas.
