Transcript

It is Verdict with Senator Ted Cruz, Ben Ferguson with you.
00:00:08.240
And as we get ready for a new year, it's important that we take a look back at some of the biggest
00:00:13.440
stories of this past year, give you some of those big stories and things to look forward to
00:00:19.540
or issues that you may need to be paying attention to heading into 2024.
00:00:24.020
The White House had a very interesting response, and this is the third change now in the goalposts
00:00:33.040
for Joe Biden's involvement with Hunter Biden's businesses.
00:00:36.560
The first was they never spoke about business ever.
00:00:40.620
Then they changed it to he was never in business with his son.
00:00:48.100
Now the White House's Ian Samms came out and moved the goalposts again when he said this.
00:00:54.960
The other allegations is the president was present at some of the meetings between Hunter
00:01:01.480
Why was the president at those meetings on those phone calls?
00:01:06.300
Well, again, I think this is part of the right wing's misinformation machine to try to confuse
00:01:13.140
The truth is that the president, as he has said publicly for years, calls his family every
00:01:21.620
He calls his other family members to check in to see how they're doing.
00:01:27.140
And what the GOP's own witness testified in this case is that that's exactly what the
00:01:32.780
He was checking in with Hunter during a particularly hard time, I might add, a time where the family
00:01:37.820
was going through Hunter's brother, Beau's illness.
00:01:42.140
And of course, the president checks in with his son and talks to him.
00:01:45.180
But again, that witness testified no business dealings of Hunter Biden's or anyone's was
00:01:52.140
And so, again, they're trying to make this sort of strange connection when their own investigation
00:01:59.300
Before I let you go in, has the president responded in terms of how the president has reacted to
00:02:04.440
this, especially somebody who's been in politics and been in Washington for as long as he has
00:02:09.360
been, the idea that he is now subject to an impeachment inquiry as president of the United
00:02:15.380
You know, the president has been in politics for a long time.
00:02:17.760
And I think, as he would say, he's seen a lot of malarkey along the way.
00:02:22.260
You know, he's focused on the issues that actually matter to the American people.
00:02:24.880
You just saw him spending the last week traveling around the world, shoring up our alliances,
00:02:29.720
advancing national interests in Asia, our economic interests in Asia, showing American
00:02:38.380
He's announcing today a quarter billion dollar investment in cancer research to try to finally
00:02:43.960
That's what his administration and this president is focused on every day.
00:02:47.140
They're focused on the actual needs of the American people.
00:02:49.640
And I think what he would say is maybe the House Republicans should join him.
00:02:53.660
There's the part in there where he says that Joe Biden attended Hunter's business meetings
00:03:01.940
That's the new goalpost that they just moved significantly from.
00:03:08.740
Now it's, well, he just went to the business meetings because he loves him.
00:03:13.080
Well, look, I mean, what good and loving and devoted father hasn't called in 20 times to
00:03:22.400
his son's meeting with corrupt oligarchs who are paying millions of dollars in exchange
00:03:28.720
for favors from that father while he's sitting and serving as the vice president of the United
00:03:34.340
I mean, that's really just what any good dad would do.
00:03:36.580
I mean, it really is, it's cynical because they point out that Joe's other son tragically
00:03:46.280
So they want to wrap it in the sympathy of a human tragedy to say, well, of course, you
00:03:53.820
know, listen, why was Hunter getting paid the millions of dollars?
00:04:14.100
Are there any foreign oligarchs calling you up saying, Ben, I want to wire millions of
00:04:28.880
And what all of these talking heads, what all of these Democrat hacks are saying, what all
00:04:36.780
of the corporate media puppets are refusing to answer is, is what did Hunter get in exchange
00:04:46.360
And according to the House, it could be north of 20, 30 million dollars.
00:04:52.840
And by the way, not money from, you know, normal American companies, not money from our friends
00:05:14.940
They singled out nations with very significant antagonism and hostility to America and some
00:05:33.160
By the way, you don't hear any of these Democrats explaining why did Joe Biden have multiple
00:05:39.640
Why did he use fake emails to send emails to his son Hunter about Ukraine on government
00:05:46.160
email while Hunter was getting paid millions of dollars?
00:05:51.260
All of that, the Democrats want you to ignore and say, well, gosh, Joe's just a loving dad.
00:06:00.480
They help their sons make $30 million from corrupt oligarchs who are enemies of America.
00:06:06.820
I want to get back to this montage, Senator, that was one that went viral.
00:06:10.920
And I hope you will give this to your friends, share it on social media, because it's another
00:06:15.980
example of how many lies have been told by the Bidens and how much the media has been
00:06:20.860
And this is what this impeachment inquiry is going to be all about.
00:06:24.680
Never discussed with my son or my brother or anyone else anything having to do with
00:06:31.600
President Biden met with at least 14 of Hunter's business associates while he was vice president.
00:06:37.200
Then vice president Joe Biden had dinner with his son Hunter, along with Hunter's business
00:06:41.680
associates from Ukraine, Russia and Kazakhstan.
00:06:44.460
And the day after the dinner, a Burisma executive sent a note to Hunter quoting, dear Hunter,
00:06:50.280
thank you for inviting me to D.C. and giving an opportunity to meet your father and spend
00:06:56.740
Hunter's lucrative business dealings often included giving as much as 50 percent of his
00:07:03.460
The text read, quote, I hope you all can do what I did and pay for everything for this
00:07:09.800
It's really hard, but don't worry, unlike Pop, I won't make you give me half your salary.
00:07:14.740
His son, Hunter, joining the then vice president on the official visit to Beijing.
00:07:19.380
Unknown to the press back then, Hunter Biden was forming a Chinese private equity fund,
00:07:24.060
planning to raise money, including from Chinese investors.
00:07:27.200
Ten days after the Biden's trip, Shanghai authorities issued the fund's business license.
00:07:32.300
And Hunter introduced me as this is Tony, dad, the individual I told you about that's helping
00:07:38.260
us with the business that we're working on and the Chinese.
00:07:41.260
The email reads this way, quote, at the moment, there's a provisional agreement that the equity
00:07:50.160
I thousand percent sit here and know that the big guy is referencing Joe Biden.
00:07:54.740
I met with the former vice president in person multiple times.
00:07:58.400
A newly revealed text message shows Bobulinski was apparently warned by business partner James
00:08:10.900
Chinese executives admitted to reporters that they were actually introduced to the vice
00:08:17.700
Hunter and the then vice president, seen with a pair of Mexican billionaires.
00:08:21.720
At the same time, Hunter had been working on energy deals in Mexico.
00:08:25.500
Joe Biden also had Hunter and his business partner fly on Air Force Two to Mexico.
00:08:30.660
His closest business partner, Hunter, has made at least 19 visits to the White House and
00:08:34.780
other official locations, including a sit down with then vice president Joe Biden in
00:08:39.940
There's photographic evidence of Biden on a golf outing with both his son, Hunter, and
00:08:44.420
a man called Devin Archer, who was another member of the Burisma Board.
00:08:48.460
We also know that Devin Archer in that picture had a meeting in the White House, one-on-one
00:08:53.200
meeting with Joe Biden about a week before they joined the Burisma Board.
00:08:57.640
You hear that, Senator, and this explains exactly why this impeachment inquiry is going to be
00:09:07.580
It also explains why the Democrat talking point and the corporate media talking point that
00:09:13.360
there is no evidence of Joe Biden's corruption is flatly false.
00:09:18.340
And I got to say, James Carville saying he's really looking forward to hearings on this.
00:09:24.980
Canadian women are looking for more, more out of themselves, their businesses, their

And that's why we're thrilled to introduce the Honest Talk podcast.

And in this podcast, we interview Canada's most inspiring women.

00:09:56.620
I want to move to something else that obviously got pushed back in the headlines, but it still is
00:10:01.500
The crime wave that we're seeing is not just sweeping the nation, but now it's affecting
00:10:07.020
Democratic leaders and leaders in the liberal movement like we haven't seen before.
00:10:15.700
You have a Democratic representative, Henry Queller, who was carjacked at gunpoint in
00:10:22.640
This comes as in just the past, well, it was in a 24-hour period.
00:10:27.100
You had a liberal gay reporter that was shot and killed in his home in Philly.
00:10:31.740
You had a far-left activist that was stabbed to death by a deranged stranger in Brooklyn in
0.93
00:10:38.480
You had this Democratic congressman who was carjacked at gunpoint in D.C. by four African-American
00:10:44.720
And yet we have Democrats who have a soft on crime policies that aren't just hurting their
00:10:51.760
neighborhoods that I mentioned, these different spots, but it's hurting people in Texas as
00:10:56.100
And almost every House Democrat voted against the Republican efforts to stop the D.C.
00:11:02.760
weak on crime bill, which specifically would have reduced carjacking penalties.
00:11:09.220
This is something that the Democrats, I mean, they voted for this.
00:11:13.840
Aldridge, for example, voted with the Dems on this one.
00:11:18.900
Well, listen, crime is out of control in this country.
00:11:20.860
And it's an issue that has people understandably very concerned.
00:11:24.440
I watched tonight the video of the liberal activist in New York at four in the morning being stabbed
00:11:32.400
to death on the streets of New York by a guy that certainly appears deranged.
00:11:38.700
You're right, the news of the left-wing journalist in Philadelphia who was shot, I think, seven
00:11:44.420
times in his own home and killed in the past few days.
00:11:49.120
Look, Henry Cuellar is a Democrat congressman from Texas.
00:11:55.620
Henry is the most conservative of the Texas Democrats.
00:11:59.240
I worked hand-in-hand with Henry, for example, on the Texas bridges.
00:12:05.260
We've talked on this podcast before about four bridges from Texas to Mexico that Henry and
00:12:10.500
I teamed up in and won big legislative victories to build new bridges to Mexico for legal commerce,
00:12:17.940
Henry, as I said, is by far the most conservative of the Texas Democrats.
00:12:21.640
Well, in the last couple of days, Henry was coming to his apartment in D.C.
00:12:27.080
It was 9.30 at night, and he was getting out of his car, and he was carjacked.
00:12:36.560
Presumably, I haven't spoken to Henry since it happened, but you have to assume that with
00:12:44.180
My understanding is Henry lives at an apartment building where there are multiple members of
00:12:51.660
There are apparently multiple members of congressional leadership who live there, which means there
00:12:58.060
And at 9.30 at night, he was carjacked on the streets of D.C., and then that reflects the
00:13:06.640
Now, the D.C. City Council, which is populated by left-wing Democrats, they voted to lower
00:13:14.660
the penalties for violent crimes, including carjackings.
00:13:17.680
In particular, they voted to lower the sentence from 21 years to seven years, and they voted
00:13:27.440
to lower the sentence from 40 years, if armed, to 15 years.
00:13:32.240
And under the revised code, carjacking is now divided into three gradations, dependent
00:13:38.560
on severity, with the lowest penalties for an unarmed offense ranging from four to 18
00:13:44.880
years, and the highest penalties from an armed offense ranging from 12 to 24 years.
00:13:50.820
Now, in the Congress, thankfully, the Congress has the ability to rescind any legislation in
00:13:56.200
the District of Columbia, and the reason for that is the Constitution gives Congress total
00:14:03.180
We can't rescind laws in Texas or any other state, but D.C. is a federal district, and
00:14:10.380
And so in Congress, we voted to rescind these softened crime laws that lessened the penalties
00:14:15.220
for violent crimes, and the results are horrific as we're seeing carjacking, murders, crime
00:14:23.340
rates skyrocketing in D.C. and all across the country.
00:14:26.420
You also have the White House, who was asked about part of this, and I want to play that
00:14:33.780
If a member of Congress is not safe on the streets of the nation's Capitol, who is?
00:14:40.320
Look, we're grateful and relieved that the Congressman is unharmed.
00:14:45.380
We understand what communities are going through across the country, not just in D.C.
00:14:49.880
That's why the president took action very early on in his administration to get the American
0.67
00:14:54.940
Rescue Plan done, without the help of Republicans.
00:14:58.000
That's why every time he puts forward his budget, he makes sure there are billions of dollars
00:15:04.700
All you've got to look at is what the president has been able to do this past two years.
00:15:08.600
There's always going to be more work to be done, but the fact is, the president has
00:15:19.060
Holy crap, if a Democrat congressman is getting carjacked on the streets of D.C.
0.98
00:15:23.360
at 9.30 p.m., what the heck is the answer?
0.98
00:15:26.500
And she's like, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, I'm not going to answer that.
00:15:30.660
Well, you know, Joe Biden's spending a ton of money, mind you, not actually putting
00:15:35.020
criminals in jail, not supporting police, not doing anything to stop crime.
00:15:38.700
But he's shoveling a whole lot of cash at Democrat special interest groups.
00:15:43.280
He's shoveling a whole lot of cash at deficit spending that's causing rampant inflation.
00:15:53.880
Angie Craig, who is a Democrat member of Congress from Minnesota, was assaulted in the apartment
1.00
00:16:04.160
And this is a pattern that is happening over and over and over again.
00:16:27.120
And the city is on pace for the deadliest year in two decades.
00:16:32.260
Not only that, nine of the top 10 cities with the highest homicide rights are run by Democrats.
00:16:39.000
Twenty-seven of the top 30 cities with the highest murder rates are run by Democrats.
00:16:46.580
And you're saying Corrine Jean-Pierre and the Biden White House utterly dodging responsibilities
00:16:52.920
for their soft on crime policies that are endangering people all across the country.
00:17:02.640
Because even the White House president was asked a question, a follow-up,
00:17:09.720
If President Biden's policies are helping bring crime down,
00:17:14.600
would he be comfortable with somebody borrowing his Corvette
00:17:17.380
and parking it on the street overnight in southeast D.C.?
00:17:22.300
I'm just going to get into the facts about what this president has done in this president.
00:17:31.060
You park your Corvette on the street, it's going to get robbed.
00:18:03.500
They are the propagandists for the administration.
00:18:08.980
And so, look, any sane person would say no to the question,
00:18:14.480
would you be happy with your classic Corvette parked on the streets of D.C.?
00:18:24.800
And the problem is, look, let me underscore that again.
00:18:30.360
City Council looked at skyrocketing crime rates and said, you know what the answer here is?
00:18:38.060
We've got too many murderers, too many carjackings.
00:18:41.560
Let's send people to jail for shorter times for murder and carjacking.
0.58
00:18:50.580
In the House, every single House Democrat except two,
00:18:57.540
Vicente Gonzalez, a Texan, and Henry Cuellar, a Texan who was just carjacked in the last 48 hours,
00:19:07.920
If you can think of a House Democrat, they voted in favor of lessening the penalties on carjackers and on murderers.
00:19:18.700
Yeah, this is a Democratic Party, and this is certainly going to be an issue with the presidential election.
00:19:24.520
Before we wrap up, I want to ask you a final question.
00:19:27.780
If you're standing by a doorway and you see a little red box that is three inches by four inches,
00:19:33.120
and it says the word fire on it, and it says, pull this for the fire alarm,
00:19:42.660
That is not a doorknob, and that is not a way to exit the building.
00:19:53.820
Like, don't you immediately lock that person up forever?
00:19:57.720
It's not like you were a high school principal.
00:20:00.920
It's not like you were a high school principal in a high school that had fire alarms.
00:20:04.300
It's not like you were a high school principal in a high school that had fire alarms,
00:20:07.420
that had a policy that said if you, a student, pulls the fire alarm, you will be expelled.
00:20:13.860
Jamal Bowman, the Democrat congressman, was a principal at a high school that had a policy
00:20:18.660
that if you, Ben Ferguson, a student in his high school, pulled the fire alarm, you would be expelled.
00:20:26.020
Oh, I'm going to pull the fire alarm because I want to stop the Republican vote.
00:20:29.680
And why is it his claim, if you believe him, his defense is,
0.93
00:20:36.360
I'm dumber than a box of rocks and I think a fire alarm is a doorknob.
0.70
00:20:40.460
That is his defense, and that's the best interpretation he can hope for.
0.98
00:20:44.900
By the way, I have to ask now, because you brought it up.
00:20:47.520
If a Republican would have done that, how fast would they have been kicked out of Congress?
00:20:54.740
To be honest, I don't think they'd be kicked out of Congress, but I think they might have a mugshot.
00:21:00.600
And my guess is, look, kicking people out of Congress is pretty severe.
00:21:11.340
I think the votes will be there for censuring him.
00:21:13.620
But it is a criminal offense in the District of Columbia to pull a fire alarm fraudulently.
00:21:21.360
But he is counting on the corporate media to ignore the fact that he was willing to pull a fire alarm
00:21:27.800
to try to stop the Congress from voting on a provision that he didn't like,
00:21:31.980
which, mind you, was a provision to fund the government.
00:21:36.040
So he pulled a fire alarm to cause it to happen.
00:21:38.800
But again, he knew the corporate media would cover for him, and they're doing it right now.
00:21:46.520
More out of themselves, their businesses, their elected leaders, and the world around them.
00:21:50.620
And that's why we're thrilled to introduce the Honest Talk podcast.

00:22:13.620
Senator, I want to play for you quickly the White House.
00:22:18.340
And the White House got themselves in some trouble because the president has mostly been saying the right things.
00:22:25.280
But the White House and the staffers, completely different story.
00:22:29.980
Take a listen to the White House press briefing.
00:22:31.680
What is his level of concern right now about the potential rise of anti-Semitism in light of everything that's going on in Israel?
00:22:45.680
I know there's been always questions about credible threats.
00:22:49.820
And so I just want to make sure that that's out there.
00:22:52.620
But look, Muslim and those perceived to be Muslim have endured a disproportionate number of hate-fueled attacks.
00:22:59.640
And certainly President Biden understands that many of our Muslim Arab Americans and Palestinian-American loved ones and neighbors are worried about the hate being directed at their communities.
00:23:10.620
And that is something you heard the president speak to in his address just last Thursday.
00:23:16.480
And so one of the things that the president has done is directed his homeland security team to prioritize prevention and disruption of any emerging threats that could harm the Jewish, the Muslim, Arab Americans, or any other communities.
00:23:30.780
And that is something that the president has sought to do since day one.
00:23:35.220
And as you know, the president ran on protecting communities, obviously, but bringing people together, protecting the soul of the nation.
00:23:46.700
And so that is something that the president takes very, very seriously.
00:23:51.580
And we're going to continue to denounce any sort of hate towards any American here.
00:23:57.120
And so that's what we're going to continue to be steadfast on.
00:23:59.660
And again, he has advised, directed his homeland security team to make sure that they're on top of this.
00:24:05.820
Now, Senator, the part about this that's so laughable is the White House press secretary has now come out and said, quote,
00:24:13.800
she misheard the anti-Semitism question only because of the massive backlash from that answer.
00:24:22.060
Well, it really is striking that the White House press secretary is unwilling to stand up and clearly and unequivocally condemn anti-Semitism,
00:24:31.180
It is a unique evil that has existed on the face of this planet for thousands of years.
00:24:38.520
Moreover, we will ensure that law enforcement resources are there to protect Jewish Americans.
00:24:44.060
I'll tell you, Jewish communities across this country have a level of concern and a level of fear unlike any time I've ever seen.
00:24:51.020
As the anti-Semitism on college campuses, there was a Jewish student at Columbia who was beaten with a stick in recent days,
00:25:00.800
the threats of violence on campuses because the anti-Israel, the Jew-hating far left, is so extreme that there is a real threat of violence
00:25:13.000
against the American Jewish community and, for that matter, the Jewish community worldwide in Europe and elsewhere.
00:25:18.960
And I've got to say, her answer to that was striking in that the Babylon Bee, which does a fabulous job as a humor and satire site,
00:25:30.420
they had an article that they hadn't published, but they tweeted it out today,
00:25:36.180
and they said it's hard to stay ahead of reality at the Babylon Bee.
00:25:39.060
We had this written up last night only to wake up and see the White House doing exactly this before we had a chance to publish.
00:25:45.400
And here was the fake satirical headline that they had written and they were getting ready to publish when Corrine Jean-Pierre beat them to the punch.
00:25:55.360
In strong response to rising hate crimes against Jews, Democrats denounce Islamophobia.
00:26:03.080
And it's, and I tweeted out, no longer satire, just sad, because their view, listen, when it comes to the anti-Semitic bigots,
00:26:12.960
when it comes to the squad, when it comes to the 35 student groups at Harvard and the radicals running our college campuses,
00:26:21.520
the Biden White House, and I would have to assume including Corrine Jean-Pierre,
00:26:25.640
side with the radicals against the people of Israel and against even American Jews.
00:26:30.760
Their answer, they say, we've seen no credible threat of anti-Semitism in America, really.
00:26:38.340
Well, where the hell have you been if you haven't seen any?
00:26:41.200
Because I got to tell you, the Jewish community is feeling it acutely,
0.84
00:26:45.580
and we've seen multiple horrific acts of violence directed against Jews, directed against synagogues,
00:26:53.140
And for the White House to say they've seen no credible threat is truly absurd.
00:26:57.740
Yeah, I was talking literally today to a dear friend of mine who's Jewish that works very close to Times Square in a largely Jewish community,
00:27:06.800
and he said they had been told by local law enforcement to really be on high alert and be careful,
00:27:13.460
and even had recommended that they travel together in groups, not be isolated alone,
00:27:21.600
That is what he said to me today, and yet the White House is acting like none of that's happening at all.
00:27:26.300
It is sad, and today's Democrat Party is captive to the far left.
00:27:32.800
And I will say, I've had conversations with multiple people on the left who are not deeply political,
00:27:39.400
who are shocked at the open anti-Semitism that is arising on the far left.
00:27:46.160
It's been there for a long time, but if you're not paying close attention,
00:27:49.540
it takes something like the events of the last couple of weeks to really bring in a stark relief,
00:27:57.280
