Summary

Summaries generated with gmurro/bart-large-finetuned-filtered-spotify-podcast-summ .

In this episode, I discuss the push to mandate masks in public schools and public schools across the province, and the opposition to it from the "anti-Vaxxers" outside of City Hall in Toronto. I also talk about some of the conspiracy theories that have been circulating in the anti-vaccination community.

00:00:00.000 The Chief Medical Officer of Health Dome.
00:00:09.000 Masking your children is child abuse.
00:00:13.000 Just say no.
00:00:15.000 No mask, no mask, no passport.
00:00:19.000 They're lying to you.
00:00:22.000 CD1.news.ca, you do not say you do not have access to information.
00:00:30.000 That is a total lie and cop-out.
00:00:34.000 They need oxygen to breathe.
00:00:37.000 Don't mask them, stop muddling now.
00:00:42.000 Okay, here I am at what I think might be my fourth or fifth one of these.
00:00:45.000 I came down to one with Dave Naylor last winter, a couple last winter, some in the spring.
00:00:49.000 It's the same people, it's a small crowd, and they tend to be blunt about it.
00:00:55.000 A lot of very extreme people.
00:00:57.000 Not necessarily dangerous, but they've got some views that are out there.
00:01:00.000 Jason Kenney just announced today in the provincial government the mask mandates are coming back.
00:01:04.000 They're bringing in some restrictions on liquor sales, going to bars, some other things.
00:01:10.000 I think they were talking about public servants going back to work.
00:01:13.000 Well, the infections are going up.
00:01:15.000 I understand there's a lot of people here who don't even believe that COVID exists or things like that.
00:01:18.000 Well, from my perspective, it does.
00:01:20.000 And the infections are going high, and he felt he had to do something.
00:01:23.000 The pressure was on.
00:01:24.000 We're outside of City Hall.
00:01:26.000 But what we're not seeing is broad public opposition to this.
00:01:30.000 As much as people might be saying they're getting upset, and some people are certainly getting upset,
00:01:34.000 but these protests are still a handful of some pretty wild people.
00:01:40.000 I was watching them out on the road.
00:01:42.000 Some of them were yelling at people in cars because they were wearing masks. 1.00
00:01:44.000 They were calling them communists and assholes. 0.97
00:01:46.000 I can't see that exactly broadening the support or bringing out the common public against this. 0.93
00:01:52.000 And that's the only thing that's going to make things change is if we actually see common members of the public coming out and saying,
00:01:59.000 look, I've had enough of this.
00:02:01.000 We want to back off on things.
00:02:03.000 It's time to focus on individual rights while letting this run its course.
00:02:07.000 But in looking at this, this isn't what's going to bring them out.
00:02:11.000 This is not rational discourse.
00:02:14.000 We've got Kevin J. Johnston.
00:02:15.000 They let him out of jail long enough to be able to come out and add to his campaign for mayor out here.
00:02:20.000 You know, we've got people with signs about how Jesus is coming and, you know, we've got to repent before the apocalypse
00:02:29.000 and pretty much other people with their other pet causes.
00:02:31.000 But we're just not seeing a rational pushback or groundswell against government control.
00:02:37.000 And I am concerned about it.
00:02:38.000 I really am.
00:02:39.000 I worry about how they look.
00:02:42.000 Some leaders are looking at the pandemic as an opportunity for change.
00:02:45.000 I mean, they're realizing that the public will allow section one of the charter to be utilized
00:02:50.000 and have our individuals rights suspended in the name of a health emergency.
00:02:54.000 We've heard language of the government talking about guns being a health emergency, climate change being a health emergency.
00:02:59.000 They're going to learn from this and use it to infringe on our rights in other areas.
00:03:03.000 But when I look behind me and I see this is the depth, this is the base, this is what we've got for opposition against it.
00:03:09.000 Are we really that surprised that the government's not afraid to push further with restrictions, with stepping on individual rights?
00:03:16.000 We can't be surprised anymore.
00:03:18.000 We'll watch this for a little while, but I'm not seeing common folks coming out.
00:03:22.000 I'm not seeing a groundswell against the mask mandates and vaccinations and things such as that.
00:03:28.000 Though there was a person who assured me we are going to turn into lizard people soon because of the vaccination.
00:03:32.000 I am watching for scales or a third nipple or any other consequences.
00:03:36.000 But I did get my vaccines.
00:03:37.000 I'm not looking forward to getting a booster every six months.
00:03:39.000 It's getting crazy with how far they push it.
00:03:41.000 But I'm not in that vaccination fear crowd.
00:03:45.000 But there's plenty of them here.
00:03:46.000 If you want some really actually interesting discourse and a good study into human mentality, there are some very colorful folks to speak with at this.
00:03:56.000 We'll keep watching and see if anything more of interest comes about.
00:03:59.000 There are guys I know in my army unit right now who know this is all a fraud.
00:04:03.000 Okay, they know it through and through since day one.
00:04:06.000 They're not telling their buddies.
00:04:08.000 And my buddies are going and getting jabbed and they're just posting their records on the internet, which is kind of probably some good info for China to have for later. 0.69
00:04:15.000 Which is a serious security breach.
00:04:18.000 But this is coming right from the command.
00:04:21.000 Where is this guy getting his info from?
00:04:29.000 Ignore service.
00:04:30.000 I'll be right back.
00:04:31.000 Havingята.
00:04:32.000 You're not telling me about.
00:04:33.000 That's going toonto me.
00:04:34.000 You're not telling me about this thing?
00:04:35.000 That's the primero.
00:04:36.000 You're not telling me about.
00:04:37.000 And without any restrictions opinions.
00:04:38.000 You may not wait on the phone.
00:04:39.000 That's the surely thing you might have, because if you'd have the same message left or you would bewolf for trucks.
00:04:41.000 That's the new rule because you can't wait a bit towards the beginning of yourying story.
00:04:42.000 Is it really not supposed to have something left or you already up?
00:04:44.000 And without a doubt
00:04:45.000 At this point you can write me down.
00:04:46.000 And without your assing, you know, highly塔, you know exactly.
00:04:49.000 At next level, personally if we're gonna test you any activity.
00:04:51.000 Wait until the following day one thing.
00:04:53.000 We'll still have the same regulations.
