Western Standard - Calgary EMS gives update on victims after Saddleridge bus crash

00:00:00.160 uh so as my colleagues mentioned about 1 p.m uh shortly after 1 p.m we received a call for

00:00:06.160 multi-vehicle collision here um yeah we have uh saddle ridge um our numbers state that there

00:00:15.040 is approximately or about um this may alter slightly but 19 individuals that were injured

00:00:24.480 or involved in this incident so that's a one nine uh of those 19 i'll break goes down a little bit

00:00:30.160 further as we go here excuse me 10 of those 19 were transported that's 10 10 were transported

00:00:38.080 via ambulance uh to various hospitals uh around calgary here so of those 10 conditions are as

00:00:46.240 follows one in life-threatening condition two in um or i'm sorry one in life-threatening condition

00:00:53.760 and nine in non-life-threatening condition of those nine again varying injuries i can't really

00:00:58.800 break those down any further so again of those ten um nine non-life-threatening one life-threatening

00:01:04.800 in addition to those paramedics did determine three individuals to be deceased at the scene

00:01:10.640 as I was previously mentioned here. On top of those, there was five non-life-threatening

00:01:19.520 walks in the street, as we would call them. They were taken to hospital or cleared at the scene

00:01:25.760 and taken to hospital for further assessment via city bus, I believe. And then lastly, I believe

00:01:33.680 there was a, as the police mentioned, a police officer that was involved. They were dealt with

00:01:39.360 on their own we didn't have any involvement with them but i believe their condition list was

00:01:42.720 all life-threaty at the time so i hope that made sense again 19 uh individuals uh involved um

00:01:50.000 three fatalities and that's all i have at this point just to clarify is the police officer

00:01:57.040 included in the tent who were sent to hospital or that's totally separate that's totally separate

00:02:02.720 so so the total number of of people injured here today was 19 essentially but again just to break

00:02:08.240 that down because it was a very busy scene for everyone involved. Ten of those individuals were

00:02:13.440 taken to hospital via ambulance. Three determined deceased, five via a city bus after they were

00:02:21.920 cleared at the scene.
