00:00:00.000 Good day. Welcome to a Western Standard special. I'm Corey Morgan. I know you're used to me
00:00:05.540 coming up on your Wednesday scroll with my weekly show. I'll be back again tomorrow with more of
00:00:10.420 that, but we had a special opportunity to speak to somebody today who's been touring Alberta and
00:00:16.060 livening a lot of things up. He's been stirring the pots for quite some time throughout North
00:00:21.060 America. So, I mean, we couldn't pass this up and this is fantastic. So today in studio,
00:00:25.140 we have Dr. James Lindsay. I forgot about that. Good day. Yeah. Good day. Yeah. Good to be here.
00:00:31.540 Should have had the beers on the go and everything for the old classic Canadian thing. Strange brew.
00:00:35.920 Yeah. Yeah. I grew up on that. Underrated movie. That's classic. That's fantastic. So, yeah. I mean,
00:00:42.720 it's great to have you up here. This is your first visit to Calgary then or? Yeah. First visit to
00:00:47.080 Alberta too. Yeah. It was great. I was saying as we drove into the city, how gorgeous it is. It's
00:00:51.360 really pretty city. Yeah. It really has its moments. I mean, we still have our challenges
00:00:55.080 here like everywhere else. I'm looking at the leaves. It's in its moment. It's like,
00:00:58.640 this is the time. Yeah. It is. We're seeing the colors right now anyways. So, I mean, we'll get
00:01:04.100 down to it. You've been a couple of stops in Alberta, events going on. You had one last night
00:01:08.800 in Edmonton. It's partnered with Take Back Alberta. Yeah. I'll let you introduce it. What's the event
00:01:15.380 about? Well, I mean, it's about protecting the kids. So, I'm here. David Parker, Take Back
00:01:21.900 Alberta, have me come up, try to give color for the Albertans to what's going on in the
00:01:26.560 world. Why? People know their kids are being targeted. Why? What's happening? What's going
00:01:31.860 on behind it? And the answer I'm giving is Maoism. A Maoism that's been adapted to the North
00:01:36.920 American context through race and gender and sexuality. And it's really resonated with the
00:01:41.300 crowd. The crowd was lit up last night. We had like something like 800 people show up.
00:01:45.680 The energy was high. People said it was one of the more clarifying things that they'd heard,
00:01:49.860 that light bulbs are going off. So, I'm trying to give people the understanding of what's going on
00:01:54.120 in, I mean, the U.S. is a little bit further down the road than you guys. We maybe actually
00:01:58.260 have passed ripeness, and you guys are a little worse off than we are now. But Canada is coming
00:02:02.120 along. Britain's coming along. The whole Western world is coming along with this woke project. Well,
00:02:06.940 what is it? And I'm trying to answer that question. Yeah. Well, and it gets mischaracterized a lot. I mean,
00:02:11.140 it's really stirred things up. People have gotten very emotional. I mean, from what I interpret,
00:02:15.600 is this movement is trying to wedge itself between parents and their children. It's saying that you
00:02:21.880 can't be trusted with raising your children responsibly. So, we through the state are going
00:02:26.580 to take that on. And we're seeing that in Canada, where they're saying schools shouldn't even be
00:02:30.380 allowed to tell parents what their children under 16 are doing in class. But I think they've crossed the
00:02:35.860 line. I mean, do you feel the same? Yeah. I've actually been saying for a few years,
00:02:39.840 if they ever got into the sexualization stuff, the kids stuff, that was it for them. And I kind of,
00:02:45.380 you know, there's the person me who cares and doesn't want these bad things to happen. And then
00:02:49.800 there's the kind of, you know, culture war me, who's like, finally, they've taken the step. Now we can
00:02:55.360 win. And so, I was pretty excited in that regard to see them decide to cross the line that it's really
00:03:02.340 an uncrossable line. And they did. It is, people can argue, is it communism? Is it fascism? Is it
00:03:08.740 something new or whatever? It doesn't matter. It's totalitarianism. And totalitarianism always tries
00:03:13.620 to break apart the three things that are most in its way, which are family, faith, and property. And
00:03:19.800 so, they have to get in between people and their faith, people and their families. So, there's your
00:03:24.140 parents and kids. And then they have to start disrupting property rights so they can control
00:03:27.740 people's lives. And this is what's visiting the Western world. The tactics are straight out of
00:03:31.880 Mao Zedong from China in the 1960s Cultural Revolution. And it's most visceral. I was speaking
00:03:38.740 with some of the Sikh leaders in Edmonton yesterday, and they said, if they take our kids, they take
00:03:42.700 everything. That's the last thing. We have nothing left. And so, it's awakened a fire in people that
00:03:48.560 crosses all borders, political, religious, doesn't matter. Well, the polls are showing that even though
00:03:53.620 our Prime Minister has been supportive of this woke garbage, people in general are not supporting
00:03:59.340 this. I mean, myself, I'm pretty socially liberal, actually. But I want it to be between me and my
00:04:04.260 children to discuss these things. As I said, that line is crossed when the school is getting in the
00:04:09.480 middle. The school is dominated by teachers, unions, and woke individuals and others. And I think a lot
00:04:13.980 of other progressives are feeling the same way. They might be fully supportive of trans ideology and all
00:04:19.200 those things, but they want it to be between them and their children, not the state and their
00:04:22.320 children. That's a big line. It's a huge line. It is, in fact, like we said, it's the uncrossable
00:04:26.660 line. It has been crossed. I have the feeling, and I'm getting the sense, at least in this part
00:04:31.000 of Canada, it's probably more broadly in Canada for hearing what you're saying. But in the United
00:04:35.160 States, at least, the term I use for this woke garbage now is that it's a zombie ideology.
00:04:40.860 It already died. People hate it. People don't like it. They're not on board with it. They hear it.
00:04:44.560 They roll their eyes. They're tired of it. It's got its hardcore base of support. But for the most part,
00:04:49.260 people are sick of it. They don't want to hear it anymore. You had your day in the sun.
00:04:52.320 And the institutions, on the other hand, the government, the state has not moved on. They're
00:04:59.160 just ramming it on people. And this disconnect is causing, in my opinion, actually a downward spiral
00:05:05.260 for the ideology itself. People don't want it. They're tired of it. The government's forcing it.
00:05:10.780 That makes people want it even less and get more tired of it. And it's just a downward spiral for the
00:05:15.400 whole ideology. Well, the ideologues themselves, there's something of a mouse that roars, though.
00:05:19.380 They do manage to get out there and get a disproportionate amount of airtime or influence
00:05:25.060 on things. We're seeing that with the pushback for your events, which, again, they've been
00:05:30.540 trying to chase your events away from venues. But these protests never materialized because
00:05:34.780 they're really, I would posit there's not that many people protest.
00:05:38.220 No, I think that's true. And I've seen that in the States. I've seen cases where entire school
00:05:42.440 boards are being pushed around by hundreds of people where they investigate and it's six,
00:05:46.600 that they're calling repeatedly or emailing using different email accounts and all of this stuff.
00:05:50.700 And this has been the case. I've been canceled on these two events here, Edmonton, Calgary,
00:05:55.060 five times. The ticket vendor got canceled. One venue in Edmonton and three here in Calgary have been
00:06:01.020 canceled on us to try to prevent us from having the event. Online, it started to circulate that I would speak
00:06:06.620 into Denny's parking lot. And I was like, you're damn right, I will. I'm not afraid. I'll get a megaphone
00:06:10.620 and talk to people on the street. I don't care. But the fact is that just left Edmonton, the venue
00:06:17.360 there was actually some East Indians hosted us, a very nice banquet hall they have. I think it's set up
00:06:23.180 for weddings. It was very pretty. And they got over 200 phone calls. Oh, I don't want this to happen.
00:06:29.980 They're just using you. They don't like you. They're not your friends. We're getting along great.
00:06:33.720 Everybody's having a great evening. The guy was completely mystified by what's going on in the
00:06:38.580 phone calls versus reality. And did anybody show up? Well, if they did, they didn't say a word. They
00:06:43.080 didn't make themselves visible. It was all virtual. It was all phone calls, emails, online petitions,
00:06:49.100 noise on social media. Mouse that roars is a good way. I don't know that the protests really even
00:06:53.500 exist. Maybe it's six guys, as Trump once said, maybe it's six guys in their basement making phone
00:06:59.160 calls all day long to try to intimidate the community. Yeah. Well, and so before we go
00:07:04.280 further, I should remind people then, I mean, for those watching it today, which is the Tuesday,
00:07:08.540 that there is an event tonight in Calgary because of these chasing around on the venues, people can sign
00:07:14.400 up, but they won't find out where exactly it's going to be until a couple hours before the event
00:07:18.960 takes place. Where can people sign up for this event and get registered? It's through the Take Back Alberta,
00:07:24.680 I guess, social media and website. So you'll have to go to Take Back Alberta, go to your search engine,
00:07:30.140 type in Take Back Alberta, you'll find it. I found it in one try when I was on the airplane trying to show
00:07:34.440 somebody about the events when I was flying in. So I know you can find it. Take Back Alberta, go to their
00:07:38.440 website, and you can go ahead and register for the event. There's still, from what I understand, about 100 seats
00:07:43.700 available. And you'll find out where the venue is a couple hours in advance. So these people won't get harassed
00:07:48.440 by, you know, the six guys in their basement or whatever. Yeah, well, and it's interesting as well. I mean, it's just, I
00:07:53.120 guess, the nature of identity politics and where things have gotten. Something that changed this time was
00:07:57.220 minority groups are getting up. And I mean, it gets forgotten that we have a very diverse population in
00:08:03.220 Canada, but observant Sikhs and particularly Islamic followers have little use for the woke stuff. And it
00:08:10.660 was one of the most patronizing things I ever saw was when Muslim groups were very, a large part of the
00:08:15.720 recent March for Children. Yeah. And Prime Minister Trudeau said along the lines of, they've been misled and
00:08:20.440 they don't understand. Like talking about talking down, basically saying you're too stupid to
00:08:23.780 understand what you're protesting and extremists have led you astray. That only infuriated them
00:08:28.180 further. Yeah. Well, it's like when they, when Larry Elder ran for governor in California and they
00:08:32.540 called him the black face of white supremacy on the front page of the LA Times or whatever. You know,
00:08:36.660 it's not about who you, what you look like. It's not about where you came from. It's not about your
00:08:40.060 sex or gender, any of this. It's not about any of that. It's about whether you agree with them or not.
00:08:43.900 If you agree, then you're good. And if you don't agree, then you're a white supremacy suit and misled.
00:08:47.840 We've got, they say in the United States now that the white supremacy movement is multicultural.
00:08:54.000 You know, it's a multicultural whiteness movement or something like that. So it's just whether you
00:08:58.000 agree with them or whether you don't agree with them determines whether you're a racist or right.
00:09:02.080 Congratulated. We spent the day with the Sikhs and Muslims yesterday. All they talked about is how
00:09:05.960 much they love Canada, how much they want Canadian values. It was great. And then we come to the event
00:09:10.460 and I, you know, they hosted me. So I congratulated them because what happens in the United States when
00:09:14.220 something like that happens, they are now white. The Sikhs are now white because they hosted me.
00:09:18.880 So, oh, well, you know, observant Sikhs, white people in Canada from now on that, because it's
00:09:22.180 the only move that the activists have. If you don't agree with them, they have to classify you with a
00:09:28.460 identity category that they've turned into a smear and try to smear you with it. And it's, it's,
00:09:33.860 it's horrible. It's patronizing. You see it from the top of the government, from Trudeau.
00:09:38.520 So we see it from President Biden. I almost got sick saying President Biden, but it is what it is.
00:09:45.160 Well, we're stuck with Trudeau. I assure you, I know the feeling very well. And I mean, you know,
00:09:49.940 there's room for discussion on the family unit, the importance of the family unit, the strength of
00:09:54.960 the family unit. It's been an interesting thing with identity politics, watching Asian populations in
00:10:00.960 North America doing fantastic, you know, economically, socially, all over the place. The Jewish
00:10:07.560 community as well. They've had some really rough times 100 years ago, Canada mistreated the Chinese
00:10:12.100 terribly. And a lot of people from India had a very rough go, but they prosper and are doing
00:10:17.480 fantastic. And you can't deny a large part of that is because they have very tight, strong family bonds.
00:10:22.880 And why are we not allowed to discuss that? They're trying to break these family bonds.
00:10:26.120 That's exactly right. That is the one unspeakable variable is that what we see is that success in
00:10:32.200 adult life has overwhelming correlation with family structure growing up. Neighborhood structure
00:10:37.840 matters too. But a stable home life and stable neighborhood life have almost all of the determining
00:10:43.040 power in terms of how people turn out as adults and how successful they are in whatever society
00:10:47.680 they live in, under whatever cultural rules that happen to predominate there.
00:10:52.660 That's it. I mean, it's something I said online, I got a bunch of people worked up, but it was true.
00:10:56.220 I've worked downtown. I observe a lot of things, a lot of homelessness, a lot of addiction.
00:10:59.500 I've never seen a homeless person with a turban. Calgary has a very high South Asian population.
00:11:05.620 They are not immune from addiction. They're human like anyone else yet.
00:11:10.360 Very, very rare. I'm sure there's an exception or two out there. Are they ending up on the street?
00:11:14.600 Again, it comes back to that family unit. So why can't we discuss this?
00:11:18.380 Well, you said, because that's what they have to destroy. They have to break apart faith.
00:11:22.240 They have to break apart family. They have to depose people of property because that's how they can
00:11:26.320 control people. What you're talking about in this moment is you're talking about diseases of isolation,
00:11:32.120 diseases of alienation, of loneliness. And so tyrants throughout all of history have weaponized
00:11:37.740 loneliness against people. They make them feel isolated and they say, you know, just agree with
00:11:42.580 us and we'll be in unity. And then you'll, you won't be so isolated. But by the way, if you don't
00:11:46.280 agree with us, we're going to shun you, we're going to smear you, we're going to put you, we're going to call
00:11:49.840 you enemies of the people in Mao's China or whatever it is. We're going to, we're going to put you in
00:11:54.300 in second-class citizen status. All you have to do is agree with us. But then what happens is,
00:11:58.500 you know, you lied to fit in. And when you lie to fit in, you sell your soul and you feel more alone
00:12:04.020 than ever. You know, you have doubts, but you know, you can't say them. So I can't connect with you if
00:12:07.780 I can't talk honestly with you. So now we're isolated from one another. And these are diseases,
00:12:12.720 the addiction, the homelessness, these are diseases of isolation, alienation, and loneliness.
00:12:17.700 And the tyrants weaponize these things. That's why they're on the rise. We can't talk about the fact
00:12:21.520 that stable family structures and neighborhoods are what cure those diseases. Why do you see very
00:12:27.100 low rates of them where you, where, where families proliferate and where they, they prosper and
00:12:31.720 thrive. You can't talk about it because it takes away one of their most powerful tools. They need
00:12:36.560 us isolated, lonely, alienated from one another, and feeling like the only place we can turn to get
00:12:42.720 solace is the state or a substance. So, I mean, just to kind of close things up in a nutshell,
00:12:48.260 what can people expect to see and coming out to the event tonight and hear from what you've got to
00:12:52.580 share with us? Well, I can tell you based on what happened in Edmonton last night that they're going
00:12:55.880 to see, there's going to be a lot of energy. There's going to be a lot of camaraderie. There's
00:12:58.660 going to be a lot of people from diverse backgrounds. It turns out it's not going to be like some kind
00:13:03.640 of a white supremacy rally. It's nothing like that. They're going to have a lot of fun, I think.
00:13:08.500 And I, from what people said, I hate to speak this way about my own work, but a lot of clarity
00:13:13.140 about what's going on in the world is what I hope to deliver. And with Take Back Alberta being the
00:13:18.420 sponsors and the people also hosting this, you're going to hear a lot of things that you can do to
00:13:22.900 get involved and make a difference to Take Back Alberta and then Canada and then North America,
00:13:28.580 then the world. And before I let you go as well, where can you find information about yourself and
00:13:33.140 where you're doing your work in general? Yeah, I have a website. It's called New Discourses. There's a
00:13:37.140 podcast. There's articles. It's located at newdiscourses.com. You can find it on social
00:13:41.940 media at New Discourses on virtually all the social media platforms. Personally, I am Conceptual James
00:13:48.020 on social media, all the platforms except Facebook, which permanently removed me for making a joke about
00:13:52.820 your MAID program. Yeah, well, we don't have time to go into that. Oh, terrible, terrible ball of wax
00:13:59.540 that's going on. Yeah. Well, thank you very much for coming out to Alberta and for coming into the studio
00:14:03.700 to talk to us today. I'm looking forward to a fantastic event happening tonight. And, you know,
00:14:09.060 we can beat back the wall. But well, as you said, they're already broken. We just need to finish the
00:14:13.140 job. Yeah, I think so. Great. Thanks. You can become a Western Center member for just $10 a month
00:14:18.820 or $99 a year for unlimited access.
