In this episode, I sit down with Conservative candidate for the upcoming election, Joseph Borgol, to talk about his views on gun control and gun rights in Canada. We talk about what he would like to see the Conservative Party of Canada do at the federal level in order to protect our rights and freedoms.
00:00:00.000Okay, I'm Corey Morgan coming from the Western Standard booth at the firearms show at the Seven Chiefs Sportsplex here in Calgary.
00:00:08.300It's been a great event, just jam-packed with thousands of people, lots of firearms, lots of people exercising their rights.
00:00:14.360And I've only seen, though, one and only Conservative Party of Canada candidate, though, Joseph Borgol has shown up and he's here enjoying firearms and firearm rights today, are you?
00:00:24.620Yeah, it's a great show. This is the first time I've been to this one in Alberta.
00:00:28.820I'm a firearms owner myself. I have a restricted license.
00:00:33.120I grew up with firearms and in general, you know, I'm very supportive of property rights and gun ownership.
00:00:41.560And I'm, you know, pretty much 100% opposed to the Liberal Order and Council restricting, trying to restrict 1,500 categories of firearms.
00:00:53.740We don't need more controls on firearms. In my lifetime, I've not observed any problems with firearms owners.
00:01:03.160All the problems appear to be it's about the people who own the firearms.
00:01:07.800If the criminals get a hold of them, that's really the problem.
00:01:10.220And I feel that that's where the focus needs to be on, you know, preventing firearms from getting in the hands of people who have criminal intent.
00:01:20.320Well, that's it. I mean, the criminal intent, the firearms, the criminals aren't here today.
00:01:24.400They're getting them smuggled across the border.
00:01:26.020They're getting them from robbing people's homes, things such as that.
00:01:29.160They're not coming to a firearms show to get these things.
