00:00:01.000 Lemonade Day is a free, kind of hands-on, experiential program for kids ages 5 to 13
00:00:07.000 who get to experience the thrill and the excitement of being an entrepreneur
00:00:11.000 through starting, owning and operating their very own business, the Lemonade Stand,
00:00:16.000 just like we have behind me right here.
00:00:21.000 I got inspired because I love cars and I definitely love F1.
00:00:25.000 And, well, when they come in to get their wheels changed, the pit crew does it.
00:00:30.000 So I said, well, let's go with that.
00:00:32.000 So I decided to make my Enzo's Pit Stop Lemonade.
00:00:38.000 I was looking for something for my son to do because technology these days just
00:00:44.000 rob them from everything outside and, yeah, pop up on Google for me
00:00:49.000 about the Lemonade Canada Day or Calgary Day.
00:00:53.000 And, yeah, it was awesome.
00:00:56.000 Our founder and CEO, Chantelle Little, she's an entrepreneur herself 1.00
00:00:59.000 and always kind of had entrepreneurial spirit as a young child.
00:01:02.000 When she heard about Lemonade Day and the program
00:01:04.000 and how this kind of empowered youth to kind of experience the same journey,
00:01:08.000 she thought she had to bring this thing to Calgary as well.
00:01:10.000 So we're now in our third year running and it's getting bigger and better each year.
00:01:14.000 I think we saw it on Facebook or Instagram.
00:01:17.000 And I love the fact that it really encouraged kids to be entrepreneurial.
00:01:23.000 We downloaded the app and Jack took the time to go through it all
00:01:27.000 and learned about marketing and budgeting and coming up with a plan.
00:01:31.000 So it was just a great project for us to do.
00:01:37.000 Yeah, like once I owned enough, I was by the dirt bike.
00:01:42.000 I think it was actually on Facebook.
00:01:48.000 I saw something about it and it looked like a great opportunity for the kids
00:01:52.000 to make some money and learn about finances and to also give back to the community.
00:01:57.000 20% is going to the Calgary Humane Society.
00:02:09.000 Today, I think, is probably one of the most exciting days of my life
00:02:14.000 because we've been making money pretty much the whole time and having fun.
00:02:20.000 Next year, we're going to keep doing a lot of the same.
00:02:23.000 We're going to be encouraging and empowering these young entrepreneurs to come back,
00:02:27.000 do their stands bigger and better, as well as expand the reach.
00:02:29.000 We're hoping to get way more youth to come into the program for the first time
00:02:34.000 and we're hopefully going to be able to even visit more and more every single year
00:02:37.000 and really blow the program up across the city so everyone in the whole city will know
00:02:41.000 Lemonade Day is in Calgary.
