00:05:21.760 cancels all right well we're gonna we got an interesting show um calgary mayor jody gondack
00:05:27.460 says it's bonkers uh that the unvaccinated walk among us they walk among us i walk in fear knowing
00:05:35.240 that they're i mean you can't pick them out of the crowd you think they look sickly and everything 0.95
00:05:39.460 They look like us. They blend in. They look like us, but their duty. Wintermensch.
00:05:45.860 Yeah. So Jody Gondack with some very inflammatory comments about the unvaccinated having anything
00:05:54.340 resembling civil rights. Also, quite a flame out, if you will. The Calgary Arena deal has blown up
00:06:03.860 for reasons that are still not yet completely clear, but it does seem that Mayor Jody Gondek
00:06:10.700 is very upset about it, but we're getting an early sense that this might be because of
00:06:15.940 the climate emergency. Climate emergency is necessitated. City of Calgary imposing new
00:06:20.940 costs for, quote, climate contingency. I don't know. I thought having an indoor arena,
00:06:29.380 we're doing our part to fight global warming.
00:06:31.600 We're literally cooling the place down indoors.
00:06:35.060 I thought you'd cool the place down.
00:06:36.540 I guess it made a little windmill on top or something,
00:06:39.000 I guess.
00:06:39.280 It wasn't quite enough.
00:06:40.180 Yeah.
00:06:40.560 Okay.
00:06:42.100 Alberta Premier Jason Kenney,
00:06:43.960 tightening restrictions in time for Christmas.
00:06:47.340 Yes.
00:06:47.840 The Premier thinks that you should be allowed to do less at Christmas,
00:06:51.060 including dancing,
00:06:53.300 dirty dancing,
00:06:54.500 no dirty dancing or dancing of any kind during Christmas.
00:06:58.340 strictly verboten. Also, Ottawa is spying on you. Yeah, you. Yeah, I'm not just talking in general,
00:07:08.000 some of you. Every single one of you. Ottawa using your cell phone data to track you. Make sure
00:07:12.660 you're behaving during lockdowns. We've got some interesting information on that coming from
00:07:18.760 Black Locks Reporter, our wire service coming out of Ottawa. Let's get started though. Dave,
00:07:26.620 Why don't you set us up with this whole bonkers situation from Calgary Mayor Jody Gondek.
00:07:33.600 Well, Derek, the whole situation is bonkers.
00:07:37.440 Mayor Gondek took to QR77 radio last Friday morning, and in an interview, she said it was completely bonkers, quote, unquote, that the unvaccinated are allowed to walk amongst regular people.
00:07:53.200 uh you know it was quite a stunning statement to be honest and obviously it set off a firestorm
00:08:00.560 not only in calgary but uh across uh canada people's party of uh canada leader maxine
00:08:08.080 bernier was holding the end of uh press conference uh review end of the year press conference in
00:08:14.320 in ottawa and he was asked about it and he literally lost his temper he was raising his
00:08:19.760 voice and saying you know shame on jody gondek shame this is this is just a disgusting segregation
00:08:26.720 of uh of two classes of people uh social media exploded with people saying this was was crazy
00:08:35.360 it was discriminatory there was a even a breach of uh city hall discriminatory rules uh paul
00:08:43.760 Paul Hinman, the leader of the Wildrose Independence Party, he also called for Gondek to issue
00:08:49.840 a public apology, saying you just can't have one set of rules for one group of people and
00:08:56.460 one set of rules for another.
00:08:57.640 So as far as I know, Gondek has yet to apologize, Derek, and she's sticking by her bonkers comment.
00:09:13.760 Thank you.
00:09:43.760 uh, race-based schooling, uh, race-based economics. Everything is about race and
00:09:50.120 dividing people. And they're happy with segmenting people, uh, when it's specialized
00:09:53.980 privilege groups. But, um, I, I suppose they're feeling, uh, oh, apparently, uh, there's an audio
00:10:01.080 issue. Okay. Uh, we'll have to, yeah, forgive us there. I think we had an audio issue. Um,
00:10:09.600 but, but is there any political, could be any political fallout? Like her supporters,
00:10:13.140 I think, are probably pretty uniformly in favor of vaccine discrimination and this kind of thing.
00:10:19.400 But this is a whole other level where she's saying quite explicitly that vaccinated people should not be allowed to leave their homes.
00:10:27.420 They shouldn't be allowed to gather for Christmas.
00:10:29.820 I know Jason Kenney banned people from gathering for Christmas last year in most circumstances.
00:10:35.920 I don't know a single person that actually respected those orders.
00:10:40.140 But I don't know.
00:10:42.800 Do you think politically she's going too far in saying that unvaccinated people should not be allowed to leave their home?
00:10:48.340 She's got nearly four years till the next time she has to face the electorate. 0.99
00:10:51.660 And her base, as you said, loves authoritarianism, loves division, loves segmentation of society.
00:10:57.160 So no, this won't cost her anything.
00:10:58.400 Those of us who already despised her kind of politics still despise them. 1.00
00:11:01.680 And we're just that much more annoyed with her.
00:11:03.440 But as far as the cost to Gondek herself, no, it won't harm her a bit.
00:11:07.860 um well i think this is i i guess the only common thread here is jody gondack but uh dave uh big
00:11:17.440 flame out yesterday kind of just as we're kind of leaving the office yesterday uh quite a kerfuffle
00:11:22.680 erupting calgary mayor jody gondack saying uh the calgary flames arena deal is kaput uh tell us
00:11:30.680 about it well i don't know about you guys but i thought this was a done deal and we were going to
00:11:35.660 get shovels in the ground ASAP. Shock announcement from Gondek late yesterday evening. She says the
00:11:45.420 flames have pulled out of the deal and it's no longer going ahead. Apparently City Hall sort of
00:11:52.740 changed the terms of the deal and added in some climate change stuff, believe it or not, and the
00:11:58.420 flames weren't willing to pony up the extra cost for that, which I think was in the neighborhood of
00:12:03.620 $10 million. Gondek said it was astonishing that with a project so large, a multi-billion dollar
00:12:12.080 project, that somebody would pull out of 1.5% of what the complete cost would be. She seemed
00:12:22.080 fairly shocked by it. Obviously, social media just exploded instantly after the announcement.
00:12:28.680 And to me, it seemed split, you know, almost 50-50.
00:12:33.680 A lot of people angry at the Flames owners.
00:12:36.860 Again, we're getting back to the old controversy.
00:12:39.580 Should taxpayers' dollars be used to build arenas for billionaire owners and millionaire athletes?
00:12:46.540 And the sense on social media last night was no, overwhelmingly no.
00:12:51.500 And you know what? Good riddance, Flames.
00:12:53.700 Enjoy your time in Houston or Quebec City.
00:12:57.760 The other, you know, the other group were applauding Gondek for standing up to them.
00:13:05.180 Again, it's this whole climate change things, guys, that, you know, she made that her top priority with coming in.
00:13:12.760 And now this seems to have killed off something that this city desperately needed.
00:13:18.260 And I think most people understand the need for because we were missing out.
00:13:21.900 It's not just a hockey arena, guys.
00:13:23.460 It's concerts.
00:13:24.980 It's, you know, ice shows.
00:13:26.460 It's Lipizan or dancing stallions, all those type of things that weren't coming to Calgary because the saddle dome wasn't working.
00:13:35.100 So I don't know whether we're back to square one, but we certainly took two steps backwards in a large way yesterday.
00:13:43.120 I think I'm a little less of a fan of the deal than yourself.
00:13:46.080 I'm always a bit more tepid about putting taxpayers' money into anything that's privately owned like this.
00:13:53.320 But a deal is a deal.
00:13:55.260 They had a deal between the city and the Flames.
00:13:58.880 What are they called?
00:13:59.460 Sports and Entertainment or...
00:14:00.460 Calgary Sports and Entertainment Group.
00:14:02.140 Yeah.
00:14:03.240 They had a deal.
00:14:04.180 I thought this was a done deal.
00:14:06.240 I thought that's what happened.
00:14:07.120 Well, they did.
00:14:07.800 I got a feeling there might be some lawyers looking at that.
00:14:09.880 We'll see.
00:14:10.480 Yeah.
00:14:11.520 I mean, $10 million.
00:14:13.000 Yeah, that's not a lot in the greater scheme of a project this big.
00:14:16.940 But one party can't add a dollar to a deal.
00:14:20.340 Oh, that's it.
00:14:20.980 It doesn't matter if it's 1.5% or 80%.
00:14:24.600 You had a deal. And this was crap that had nothing to do with the original deal. They didn't talk
00:14:29.180 about solar panels and expanded sidewalks for bike riders and that sort of garbage when they
00:14:34.480 first negotiated this years ago. She threw that in later and they'd had enough. I mean, if they,
00:14:40.160 if they capitulate on this one, what's the next demand going to be? What's the next demand going
00:14:44.000 to be? I mean, you've got to draw some boundaries somewhere. Again, the discussion of whether or not
00:14:48.800 tax dollars should go into something like this or not. The time for that was before the deal was
00:14:53.160 signed. And I don't think they ever should have signed into it. But the bottom line is you're in
00:14:56.580 now. And what I worry about is the chilling effect on business in Calgary in general. We've seen a
00:15:02.500 mayor who will not think twice on jeopardizing $600 million deals over her climate crusade.
00:15:08.740 What's going to happen if it's a business looking to set up shop in Calgary? She says, oh, by the
00:15:12.120 way, with our new climate emergency, you're going to have put solar panels outside and do this and
00:15:16.000 this, and it's going to cost you another 10%. You know what will happen? They're not coming here.
00:15:19.000 And if she's also known for changing the deals after it's been signed, they're not coming here.
00:15:24.140 So there's a lot more to be read into this rather than just whether you think the flames should come or go or whether the city should be in it.
00:15:29.760 They breached a deal, and that's bad.
00:15:31.220 Well, and it's not like she was trying to get a better deal for taxpayers even here.
00:15:34.380 It's not like she's saying, oh, well, you need to take a bigger share of the cost of building this thing.
00:15:38.380 Taxpayers are taking on a bigger share.
00:15:40.300 It's, oh, climate mitigation.
00:15:43.580 Because the arena is not cold enough.
00:15:45.720 You know, it needs to be even colder to change the average temperature in Calgary or something.
00:15:51.220 I don't know. I don't know. But she's changed it on such a bonkers nothing burger issue.
00:15:58.420 But I mean, as I think you and Dave both said, this is her top priority.
00:16:03.540 The first thing she did coming into office was to declare a climate emergency like that is the biggest issue facing Calgary.
00:16:09.400 I mean, like, let's take a walk 10 feet outside of the building we are here, and I'm sure we'll find someone who is either overdosed in the last 24 hours or will overdose in the last 24 hours.
00:16:19.420 Let's take a look at some of the violent and property crime taking place within a one block radius of this place.
00:16:27.800 That's probably a bigger, that's probably a bigger emergency than the climate.
00:16:31.900 The city has some huge issues.
00:16:33.120 And I mean, some of that also is due to the fact that our downtown's turned into a dystopian nightmare because half of the buildings are empty.
00:16:39.000 And, you know, and again, it gets back to this.
00:16:40.940 I mean, I'm watching the social media storm
00:16:43.300 and they're going after Murray Edwards
00:16:44.880 and they're calling him every name in the book.
00:16:46.780 He's the big Scrooge McDuck billionaire.
00:16:48.840 He's evil, he's nasty.
00:16:50.080 Screw him, we don't need him.
00:16:51.360 Glad you're gone.
00:16:52.280 Well, don't forget the other operations he has here
00:16:54.640 employed thousands.
00:16:56.460 You know, whether you like the man or not,
00:16:58.420 billionaires are who are going to fill our offices,
00:17:00.140 not hipsters with coffee shops.
00:17:02.100 We need to at least be civil to the large.
00:17:04.900 If you want to play these politics of envy,
00:17:06.420 we're on the road to Venezuela.
00:17:08.340 Okay, well, let's talk about Scrooge McDuck at Scrooge McDuff. Is it Duff or Duck? McDuck.
00:17:15.980 McDuck? Yeah. Okay. Let's talk about Scrooge here coming up into the Christmas season.
00:17:21.820 Alberta Premier Jason Kenney tightening restrictions again. He did loosen them a little bit in saying
00:17:29.540 that, well, he will grant the unvaccinated the privilege of being allowed to see their family
00:17:35.520 at Christmas. Very kind of the premier to allow people to leave their homes to see their family
00:17:39.800 at Christmas. He took some flack on the more left-leaning mainstream media for that, as if
00:17:47.100 these people aren't going to just leave their bloody homes anyway. I mean, if you're going to
00:17:52.780 say, no, I'm not giving in to mandatory vaccination and all this kind of stuff,
00:17:57.520 and you're willing to suffer the penalties that come with that already, I'm pretty sure you don't
00:18:01.380 care about what some politician says you're allowed to do at Christmas and who you're allowed
00:18:05.120 to have dinner with. But Jason Kenney responding to pressure from the NDP and the media has
00:18:11.880 predictably done what the NDP and media have told him to do. Dave, tell us about the new
00:18:17.760 restrictions for Christmas. Yeah, it was a bit of a shift in policy from one week to the next,
00:18:24.040 wasn't it? Surely they have not flip-flopped on COVID policy. Flip-flop, flip-flop. They would
00:18:28.960 never do that. No, it's the official sound of the legislature, isn't it? Flip flop, flip flop, flip
00:18:35.440 flop down the hallway. I'm sure Premier Kenney and Chief Medical Officer of Health, Dina Henshaw, 0.99
00:18:42.480 were watching what was going on in Europe, which is now being hit hard by Omicron. England for the
00:18:48.920 first time today recorded more than 100,000 cases in a single day. Hospitalization rates are up in
00:18:56.560 london 78 percent because of omicron other provinces have started to take measures to
00:19:02.960 to lock down and jason kenny saw this and figured he'd better get on the lockdown bandwagon
00:19:10.160 so that's what he announced yesterday uh not as bad as bc we're not quite closing nightclubs and
00:19:17.920 and whatnot but we are putting a lot of restrictions on a lot of things at this time of year
00:19:23.260 Let's start with the World Juniors, a massive worldwide event.
00:19:26.480 Can you hear me?
00:19:27.580 I can hear you, yeah. 0.98
00:19:29.140 I'll just say we have effectively closed nice clubs because it's illegal to dance in Alberta.
00:19:33.460 That's true.
00:19:34.660 That's true.
00:19:35.380 They are just closed effectively.
00:19:37.260 But, I mean, for us middle-aged white guys, we kind of just sit there and nod our heads and shake our shoulders anyways.
00:19:43.220 I've seen you dance, Dave.
00:19:45.700 Don't sit yourself short.
00:19:47.420 That's true.
00:19:48.360 So World Juniors, capacity is capped at 50%.
00:19:53.340 So, I mean, that's a shame.
00:19:54.860 When you were going to get Canada, Russia, Canada, the U.S.,
00:19:58.140 all those huge international games,
00:20:00.660 only 50% of the crowd is going to be there.
00:20:03.320 And for those poor people that are at the games,
00:20:05.700 they can't even get a beer.
00:20:07.580 There's no food service.
00:20:10.500 There's nothing at all.
00:20:13.060 No food, no beer, no wine during the intermission.
00:20:16.700 Basically, you just move in, you move out.
00:20:19.480 Good.
00:20:20.140 I'll just elaborate a bit.
00:20:21.620 That's because you have to wear a mask.
00:20:24.580 And, you know, you're allowed to take your mask off for beer.
00:20:28.280 But, you know, I mean, it's a pretty simple hack.
00:20:30.960 If you're at an event where you don't have to wear a mask while you're drinking a beer,
00:20:35.020 the trick is to just drink beer the whole time.
00:20:37.740 Never stop drinking beer.
00:20:39.700 That's the trick.
00:20:41.280 And I guess enough people have caught on to that.
00:20:43.240 I mean, you go to Flames games, some people are wearing masks, but most people aren't.
00:20:48.260 So I guess not enough people wearing masks at Flames games for the Premier's comfort.
00:20:54.880 Right. Let's turn to pubs.
00:20:57.500 If you were thinking of holding a late Christmas gathering with all the people in your office,
00:21:02.740 you're only allowed 10 at a table.
00:21:05.420 I don't think that's going to affect too many people at the community level,
00:21:08.940 but last call at 11 p.m. may do so.
00:21:13.240 last call at 11, doors must be shut. Because COVID transmits after 11. We all know that.
00:21:17.880 It goes home and goes to bed. Well, that's usually where the herpes transmission happens,
00:21:23.800 so we might reduce that a little bit. There are plenty of diseases that transmit after 11,
00:21:29.000 but I'm not aware that COVID gets particularly virulent after 11 o'clock.
00:21:35.160 Among other things, yeah. Well, apparently the health officials think it has a curfew that it's
00:21:39.640 It's got to get home to abide to.
00:21:42.480 So as you've mentioned, no singing, no dancing.
00:21:46.160 Hey, if you thought about having a quick game of darts, no chance because you could catch Omicron.
00:21:53.000 From darts?
00:21:54.500 Yeah, because you're standing, you're moving, you're walking.
00:21:57.420 You're saying 180 all the time.
00:22:00.460 So it's, you know, it's tough.
00:22:06.260 No singing, no karaoke.
00:22:11.100 Basically, the province will be the place that fun forgot.
00:22:14.820 And this goes till mid-January.
00:22:16.500 It's not just for this week.
00:22:19.640 And I think the health officials have basically said, look, we're all going to get it.
00:22:24.220 We're all going to get Omnicron, but it's not going to be that bad.
00:22:28.100 It's going to be a mild thing.
00:22:29.400 some people won't even feel it. I was talking to a friend today in Ottawa who has it. He doesn't
00:22:36.400 feel a thing wrong with him, but he can't not fly back to Calgary for Christmas to be with his
00:22:40.720 family. I can tell you from personal experience, Derek, as you know, you sent me up to the airport
00:22:46.780 on Sunday to investigate whether the federal travel advisory has had any effect on passengers
00:22:53.840 at the airport I can report that no the airport was packed planes were packed airplanes were I
00:23:01.100 know WestJet was flying like 11 planes a day down to Mexico filled with Canadians dressed in shorts
00:23:07.140 wearing those proverbial flip-flops and and ready to have fun and do some dancing and some singing
00:23:12.800 on the beach so it doesn't look like anybody's listening to the to the federal travel advisories
00:23:18.560 anyways but uh the you know the lockdowns are there and people are being asked to be careful
00:23:24.040 uh cory uh i mean i i mean from one perspective uh this is smarter than restrictions last year
00:23:33.080 these are restriction businesses tend to be much more likely to uh obey the orders of government
00:23:38.400 than individuals as i've said i don't know anyone who follows the government's orders on this stuff
00:23:44.560 I'm sure there's someone somewhere in Alberta who probably listens.
00:23:50.100 They probably just don't have anyone hang out anyway.
00:23:51.740 They say they're listening, but businesses tend to not want to rock the boat too much.
00:23:58.100 They don't want to end up like Chris Scott and the Whistle Stop, half the government
00:24:01.160 raiding your business.
00:24:02.500 Yeah, they can't.
00:24:03.260 Like the hospitality industry has just had the crap beat out of it for two years now.
00:24:07.320 And I know from having owned a pub for five years, it's a tough business in regular times.
00:24:12.360 and the AGLC and the AHS can shut you down in a heartbeat. They have the authority, the ability,
00:24:18.520 they can enter at any time and have a massive amount of arbitrary power. So when the government
00:24:23.880 brings in something saying you have to do this, pretty much every business owner is going to
00:24:27.880 comply because they can't afford not to. And then this is all coming at a cost. I mean,
00:24:33.560 all of the vendors, the people who work there, things like for the World Juniors,
00:24:37.800 That's lost revenue on concession sales. People have put out a work that that was their
00:24:43.240 a lot of students and that was their Christmas time job. These bars and nightclubs,
00:24:49.720 huge amount of their revenue comes between 11 and three in the morning. I mean, that's when
00:24:54.200 they're dancing and partying. At least I remember from way back when I used to go to those kinds of
00:24:57.640 places. This is hurting them. It's hurting them a lot. We can't keep pretending that every time
00:25:02.440 they do this, it doesn't have a cost. It's costing businesses, it's costing employees,
00:25:08.200 and I don't see a hell of a lot of benefit out of it. My question for you is, I guess it's one
00:25:14.840 we've been wrestling with since the beginning. Does Jason Kenney actually believe he can will
00:25:21.480 COVID away by the sheer force of government? Or is this just pure politics? Is he doing this
00:25:29.240 just because he thinks this is actually going to work, despite the evidence?
00:25:33.380 Or does he believe, or is this just, wow, the NDP, the media are beating me up
00:25:39.680 because I said unvaccinated people can get together for dinner at Christmas,
00:25:43.880 and I need to show I'm tough at taking this on,
00:25:47.740 and he's so gun-shy because he botched the Open for Summer thing.
00:25:52.040 What is this? Does he actually believe in this?
00:25:54.740 It's politics. I mean, he's in a rock and a hard place.
00:25:57.620 I mean, we've seen how much the legacy media just goes wild on him for him daring to lighten up on anything.
00:26:04.600 I mean, really, he gets castigated whenever he lifts a restriction.
00:26:08.660 And now things, everybody's getting all worked up over the Omicron.
00:26:11.480 It doesn't seem to be hurting anybody, but we're worked up about it.
00:26:13.480 We're scared.
00:26:14.400 Damn it, do something.
00:26:15.320 He has to look like he's doing something.
00:26:17.900 So, I mean, just from a political point of view, to his credit, I think he's trying to do the bare minimum he has to.
00:26:24.240 But nobody can say he's done nothing.
00:26:25.880 and that's where it's sitting right now.
00:26:27.920 I don't think he believes it's going to make much difference to it.
00:26:30.320 I don't know.
00:26:30.780 Guys, I was watching the press conference yesterday
00:26:34.600 and I've never seen Kenny and Dr. Hinshaw in such a pleading mode.
00:26:40.640 They were almost begging people to follow the rules.
00:26:45.880 If Jason Kenney could have got down on his hands and knees
00:26:48.300 and did one of these, he probably would have.
00:26:51.800 I've never seen him that sort of pleadingly say,
00:26:55.880 Please follow the rules.
00:26:57.260 So, but I think they're just sort of hoping for the best at this point.
00:27:03.120 Dave, do we know how many people have died of Omicron in Alberta?
00:27:07.700 None, Derek.
00:27:08.940 As far as I know, the only ones I've heard about are somebody in England and somebody in Texas.
00:27:15.680 What's their Omicron death numbers in Canada?
00:27:19.900 None.
00:27:21.380 And I guess North America, you say one, one in all of North America?
00:27:24.620 one in North America. Holy shit, we better close down. It's one in the Western Hemisphere.
00:27:32.100 I mean, it's as I wrote in a column, you know, the other day, I mean, we still have to take care.
00:27:37.600 Even if it's a tiny, tiny fraction of people who do get, you know, very adverse reactions. If we're
00:27:43.120 if we get a million infected, it's going to still drive a good number of people to a hospital. But
00:27:47.360 so far from all the numbers that are coming out all over the world on this, this is an incredibly
00:27:53.160 weak version of covid we shouldn't be panicking over this not even close yeah yeah no you've
00:27:59.760 had a great column on that west germany both west germany or sorry not west germany both
00:28:05.560 germany how old are you dave you know what year it is i remember when the wall came down yes
00:28:10.900 both germany and israel are now saying officially you will need a fourth booster shot so uh you can
00:28:19.900 see that coming to Canada in a month or so.
00:28:22.540 Hey, Corey, what do the vaccinated 0.89
00:28:23.920 and unvaccinated, sorry, what do people with
00:28:25.940 two shots and no shots have in common? 0.98
00:28:28.720 Go for it. Neither are
00:28:29.960 fully vaccinated.
00:28:32.680 There we go.
00:28:34.120 Okay, well, speaking of
00:28:35.980 more fun authoritarianism,
00:28:38.540 we've got an interesting story
00:28:39.980 coming from Black Locks Reporter. They're
00:28:41.800 a newswire service that we contract
00:28:44.280 out of Ottawa doing great
00:28:46.140 work minding Ottawa's business.
00:28:48.800 They've got a
00:28:49.900 fascinating story about Ottawa spying on Canadians during lockdowns using their
00:28:54.640 cellular phone data. Dave, tell us about it. Yeah, this is a very concerning story,
00:29:01.240 Derek. The Public Health Agency admitted this week, or probably didn't admit, but
00:29:06.660 Black Locks found out, that they have been using, being spying on 33 million 0.69
00:29:12.760 Canadians and what they're doing during the pandemic. They're using their 0.84
00:29:17.420 cellular phone data to find out where they're traveling, where they're going, basically anything
00:29:24.240 about your daily routine that you're taking your cell phone on, the federal government is spying
00:29:30.320 on you. And it is shocking to, you know, groups across the country that take this sort of breach
00:29:39.480 privacy seriously uh but it's to me it's it's mind-boggling it's not just like a half a dozen
00:29:47.640 dissidents it's 33 million canadians it's everybody who's got a cell phone you know
00:29:52.920 from your teenage daughter to uh to your uh 80 year old grandmother they've got a cell phone
00:29:58.760 they're being spied on and to me that's very concerning soviet canada cell phone listens to you
00:30:05.080 Oh, Corey, I've seen nothing in the mainstream media on this. Black Locks broke it. We've picked
00:30:16.180 it up from the Black Lock service, but there's been nothing about us. Is this just not a big
00:30:22.240 deal? Is this just something we should just come to expect in the 21st century? For people who
00:30:27.420 value freedoms, it's a huge deal. Again, it just shows how indifferent and compliant our mainstream
00:30:32.620 media is. I mean, you've got to remember, a lot of them are very dependent on federal tax dollars,
00:30:36.240 so they don't want to shake that boat too much. But I mean, this at least puts a lot of the
00:30:40.200 conspiracy theorists that we're getting injected from microchips for Bill Gates to track where
00:30:43.480 we're going. He doesn't need to. You're carrying a tracker with you everywhere you go. In fact,
00:30:47.900 90% of us go into the bathroom with it, so they even know when you're pinching one off.
00:30:52.500 I mean, you can see, I know somebody leaves the office and I see tweets popping up out of them.
00:30:56.740 I don't know what he's doing there, but thankfully it's just Twitter, I guess. But
00:31:00.380 I mean, it is
00:31:03.020 serious, though.
00:31:05.360 You know, they are watching you.
00:31:06.920 They're setting the groundwork. They're seeing everywhere you go.
00:31:09.020 Like when my pub got robbed repeatedly,
00:31:10.580 the way they caught that gang of lunatics
00:31:12.840 and losers was actually
00:31:14.900 they got the names and they tracked all their cell phones. 0.76
00:31:16.840 And all these idiots came together in one spot
00:31:19.120 one night in Calgary, and it turned out they were going
00:31:21.060 in to rob the place, and the police swooped in and
00:31:22.980 caught them. But they had to get a warrant to do
00:31:24.960 that. They had to go through a process
00:31:26.720 to do that. This is the government
00:31:28.760 already following us at all times and we aren't even making noise about it. So when it starts
00:31:34.020 to come to the next step of picking and choosing who's going where and when and why, we've already
00:31:38.500 opened the door to it. And this is very serious. Well, this is like what Snowden talked. If any of
00:31:42.240 you have not yet watched the movie Snowden, watch it. It is a really good inside look at Edward
00:31:49.580 Snowden blowing the whistle at the National Security Agency and the CIA and other agencies
00:31:55.680 the United States' intelligence community, blowing the whistle at them, breaking the Constitution,
00:32:02.040 breaking the law, spying on Americans at large without a warrant. No judicial oversight,
00:32:09.780 no checks and balances, easily, or by its nature, a corrupted system. And this is happening in
00:32:17.260 Canada. No warrants, no oversight, no protections, no checks and balances whatsoever.
00:32:22.940 Ottawa's just able to spy on you. And their only excuse is, well, we need to make sure people are
00:32:28.420 locked down. Yeah. Well, and who's to say they won't come and do things retroactively. They got
00:32:32.340 all that data. Data is easy to acquire and store now. So maybe those people who did ignore the laws
00:32:38.000 and went out and went to a family gathering and we're going to find out Ann Ethel was unvaccinated
00:32:42.420 and she went out to a Christmas dinner and we've got proof in this phone and we're going to send 0.63
00:32:46.420 her a fine or a threat or a warning. I mean, this isn't beyond belief, you know, I mean,
00:32:51.360 it's something that a lot of people have been pointing out all the time. The stuff that was
00:32:54.640 called conspiracy theories a year and a half ago has been coming true lately. That's just news now.
00:32:58.900 Yeah, so we should be very concerned. I mean, in one of the most shocking cases of
00:33:08.800 governments spying, although it was not secrets spying to its credit, was in Australia. One of
00:33:13.440 the states in Australia that went just so nuts. It required that every person in this state in
00:33:19.840 Australia had a certain app installed on their phone and you would get random messages like a
00:33:25.840 notification pops up on your phone from the government and says you have say something
00:33:30.280 along the lines of you have five minutes to take a picture of yourself and geotake it and send us
00:33:35.500 so we know that you're in your house that you're not out grocery shopping or at a bar or at a
00:33:41.820 friend's house or something you have to send us a geotake picture within five minutes or otherwise
00:33:45.600 the police will come and knock your door down.
00:33:48.760 Now, my...
00:33:50.100 I don't know how I put this politely.
00:33:51.640 My thinking was the best way to resist
00:33:53.340 that kind of government tyranny
00:33:54.460 would be for everyone to... 0.99
00:33:56.340 I'll send dick pics. 1.00
00:33:57.200 Take dick pics. 0.92
00:33:57.880 Yes. 0.96
00:33:58.340 Send the government dick pics.
00:33:59.660 There we go.
00:34:00.160 You just imagine the poor...
00:34:01.020 They'll feel sorry for me
00:34:01.980 and just leave me alone.
00:34:02.820 Like, that guy's got enough challenges.
00:34:04.040 Some guy's sitting in a government office here
00:34:05.820 just getting hundreds of thousands of dick pics.
00:34:07.960 I think the government goes away pretty soon.
00:34:09.840 Depends on the guy in the office.
00:34:10.840 Might get a rise out of the government.
00:34:12.420 Yeah.
00:34:13.100 Hey.
00:34:13.420 uh dave what do you think would that be the right way to respond to the government
00:34:18.220 i think you guys can't be left alone because you just get out of control there without me uh
00:34:22.780 without me uh looking after you we need pop a nailer in here to keep it ordered orderly yeah 0.92
00:34:27.980 uh yeah dick pics uh you can't go wrong with a good dick no there is a good one uh i don't
00:34:35.260 think there's many good circumstances for it but uh if we end up with this kind of application
00:34:40.940 uh, in Canada and Alberta or any of the West here, uh, I, I, I can assure you all, we will
00:34:45.740 organize a campaign for mass dick pics to be sent to the government. Oh, some poor intern's gonna 1.00
00:34:49.820 have to sort those emails. Well, we're not, we're not organizing the pictures. Yeah, I know, but, 0.53
00:34:54.060 you know, we, our readers misinterpret stuff all the time. Yeah, some of our readers might get the
00:34:59.180 wrong impression, especially from anything you can say. Okay, well, let's leave it there before
00:35:04.060 we degenerate any further into the gutter. Uh, please like and share the video or podcast you're
