Summary

The Rant for November 9th, 2020 - I rant about a man who tattooed six turds on his leg in honour of his six children, a father of six who has a tattoo of the names of his children on his lower leg, and a woman who calls men who have given birth "menstruators" and calls them "mothers".

00:00:00.000 Welcome to The Rant for November 9th, 2020. This is my weekly show for the Western Standard where I bitch, piss, moan, vent, get things off my chest, just go on about general stupidity and issues going on in the world.
00:00:17.000 It's my therapeutic action for the week, so I lay off my poor, long-suffering wife who has to listen to me rant for the rest of those days. It's an effective vent, and hopefully my venting on your behalf will help you relax a little as well.
00:00:31.260 You get angry throughout, but damn, you feel really nice and relaxed afterwards because it just builds up and builds up, and you get pent up, and it's terribly unhealthy. It's like a political constipation, so this is where it blasts forth, and the morons of the world provide me the laxative to clear this out, and they've always provided in spades.
00:00:50.980 Since I'm starting actually on a fecal theme, I'm going to start with this father of the year. This guy has reported he has six children, and in honor of them, oh, they must be so proud of their dad, he has tattooed six turds on his leg with their name associated with each one.
00:01:09.980 I'm not sure if this guy is a hero or lunatic. I do love tasteless, sick humor, but then I do feel for these children who are now being represented by a number of turds.
00:01:20.960 He's gone to great detail on this. He's even got corn on there and little flies going around. I'm sure Bobby is going to blow that up for his Christmas cards to send for years to come.
00:01:35.520 I don't know. It's a strange world. I might as well start this with a bit of a laugh. Again, dark humor, I guess, considering he probably has traumatized his six kids through this, but, well, they'll toughen up a little, I hope.
00:01:50.080 Now we'll get on to more annoying stupidity, and there's lots of it.
00:01:53.240 So, this here, we've got from Femcare, some feminist site about feminine issues and whatnot. I really do try not to be insensitive.
00:02:05.880 I'm having a hard time, but I'm getting better in understanding trans issues and some of the terminologies, things that I've been insensitive about in the past.
00:02:15.960 I endeavor not to misgender people, though I don't care if they have them in their pronouns on their Twitter account or any of that crap.
00:02:22.140 That's just virtue signaling. But, I mean, once I've been told the person prefers to be called one thing, I'll refer to them as such from there on in.
00:02:29.080 And if they present as something until I've heard otherwise, I will go with that.
00:02:33.720 Either way, now we've got to, as you can see, menstruators who have given birth.
00:02:39.260 We used to call them mothers.
00:02:40.360 Maybe that's a little exclusionary, but, okay, how about just people who have given birth?
00:02:46.620 I mean, as soon as you say that, you already know they're a menstruator, but we're really fixated on this menstruation thing and those who do menstruate and don't, because they may have transitioned and still menstruate.
00:02:59.500 How many cartwheels have we got to do?
00:03:01.500 How far has this got to go?
00:03:02.720 And then, you see, when these little landmines are laid, these politically correct things, even if well-meaning, if we don't abide by them, we don't find them or keep up with how fast these things are changing, we get called the usual things.
00:03:16.140 We're intolerant.
00:03:16.860 We're bigots.
00:03:17.540 We're cruel.
00:03:19.420 Look, we're not going out to hurt, you know, I mean, people who are, you know, cisgendered and straight, okay, the majority.
00:03:25.480 And it's fair enough that we want to be sensitive to the minorities, but it's getting absurd.
00:03:30.800 I mean, we can't keep up.
00:03:32.140 And menstruators who have given birth, really, is that how clinical and awful you really want to refer to individuals as?
00:03:39.640 It's really pathetic.
00:03:40.800 You guys are dehumanizing the people you're supposed to be speaking up for, and it's ridiculous.
00:03:46.640 It's stupid, as I like to point out on here.
00:03:48.220 There's a lot of stupid things.
00:03:50.160 And, sorry, I'm just never, never going to be referring to menstruators who have given birth,
00:03:55.300 except when referring to morons like you who have queefed forth crap like this at me.
00:04:02.620 So, getting on to somebody even more stupid, though, this is brilliant.
00:04:06.620 Whole Foods Market.
00:04:08.080 You know, that's a specialty large commercial chain of virtue signaling where people can waste their money on ethically sourced foods and products
00:04:16.820 and get wormy organic apples and overpriced broccoli, which, of course, is shipped out in wintertime with jets and transport trucks.
00:04:25.240 And they probably cut down a lot of old-growth southern forests in order to grow that and, you know, get these people their February avocados for the avocado toast.
00:04:33.920 But either way, they do have a lot of virtue signalers and hipsters and hippies and so on who patronize their place.
00:04:39.240 And, I guess, they determined that poppies are offensive.
00:04:45.860 And it's offensive if their staff are wearing poppies.
00:04:48.520 There's probably a hippie or two whined about it.
00:04:50.560 You know, these clowns wear their white poppies every year to decry, you know, militarism and things like that.
00:04:57.220 Despite the fact that the poppy, you know, serves a few things.
00:05:00.480 It certainly, it commemorates the sacrifices.
00:05:03.020 It's not celebrating the deaths or the killing.
00:05:05.720 It commemorates the sacrifices of veterans, people who died, people who sacrificed before us in the big wars.
00:05:14.180 Things that modern hipsters could never imagine.
00:05:16.220 I mean, their biggest tragedy tends to be, you know, if the video game broke down or something like that versus these people who lived through a...
00:05:24.040 I listen to it. I'm just going to relate on that.
00:05:25.840 You know, a monologue about that.
00:05:27.000 Like, imagining somebody who's born 1900.
00:05:29.340 You know, you got old enough just in time to go into World War I.
00:05:32.140 And you suffered through all that horror and misery and went over there and then you got back.
00:05:37.140 And then just in time for the Spanish flu and you watch people around you, which, again, you know, puts COVID to shame that flu.
00:05:42.980 People compare the numbers.
00:05:44.100 Well, remember, the Spanish flu killed everybody every age, not just the dying like COVID does.
00:05:48.500 And those numbers, when you look at the world population for how many the Spanish flu killed are horrifying.
00:05:53.600 Either way, you survive that and you get through it.
00:05:55.500 And you have some kids and World War II comes along and your kids go off to that mess, you know.
00:06:01.520 Oh, and you had the Great Depression in there while you were at it, of course, 2 through the 30s.
00:06:05.460 You know, you get into the 50s and maybe your grandchildren are going to Korea.
00:06:08.780 In the 60s, they're going to Vietnam.
00:06:10.900 Lots of war.
00:06:11.720 Lots of misery.
00:06:12.460 Lots of suffering.
00:06:13.180 Lots of economic hardship.
00:06:14.500 Lots of disease.
00:06:15.500 Pandemics.
00:06:15.860 And our millennials cry about how tough they have it now.
00:06:22.140 Oh, the fascism, the dictatorship.
00:06:24.260 Oh, this is awful.
00:06:25.240 Oh, Trumpism.
00:06:25.940 We're all going to die.
00:06:27.220 You guys have got it good.
00:06:28.340 Read a little history.
00:06:29.480 And, you know, there's part of the problem with our educational system, just teaching a bunch of bullshit.
00:06:32.260 But forgetting the history of true suffering of Canadians right from start to end there.
00:06:39.260 Though I guess it's hard to teach and make an understanding of those sacrifices.
00:06:42.200 I was fortunate.
00:06:43.020 I was born into a nice time.
00:06:45.300 Either way, so getting back to this poppies commemorating that that started.
00:06:48.580 It's also a good fundraiser for the Legion for veterans who have been out.
00:06:52.380 And the morons, and I mean it, morons.
00:06:54.420 Talk about a public relations fail.
00:06:56.440 Here's a symbol that is honored throughout Canada, respected throughout the entire nation.
00:07:02.220 And you've banned your staff from wearing them.
00:07:05.820 You're not allowed to wear that to work any longer.
00:07:07.680 What fucking idiots.
00:07:10.160 So one of the staff members leaked it to the media that, yes, we're banned from wearing poppies.
00:07:14.340 And people, of course, lost it.
00:07:15.840 And they went postal.
00:07:16.420 And it's funny.
00:07:17.160 It took them like a day and a half, you know, with it hitting the fan.
00:07:21.400 Even our stammering prime minister even came out and decried, you know, this move by them.
00:07:28.500 And then the idiot, the other idiot, you know, Doug Ford, and he is an idiot.
00:07:31.660 But he comes out saying he's going to legislate it so a place can't stop people from wearing poppies.
00:07:36.440 Now, let's just double down on stupid, okay?
00:07:38.120 We don't need more laws and rules.
00:07:39.880 You don't want to force people to wear poppies.
00:07:41.960 I mean, that's like with the Seinfeld episode I love so much, you know, where they're getting a Kramer's case for not wearing the ribbon.
00:07:47.040 Even though it's important because he's not wearing the ribbon.
00:07:49.040 We don't need to be in that world.
00:07:51.800 We don't have to.
00:07:52.440 We shouldn't have to shame people or force people to allow to wear poppies.
00:07:56.600 We don't need another bloody law for it.
00:07:58.720 All we needed, as we saw here, was to expose this idiocy and these guys realizing that their sales are going to drop 30% if they keep up this stupid stance and they backed off.
00:08:09.000 Probably still aren't going to recover a number of the people alienated and pissed off with that move.
00:08:12.800 But either way, I like to rant about stupidity.
00:08:14.720 I like to rant about virtue signaling stupidity that backfires because virtue signaling is just so fucking stupid to begin with.
00:08:20.500 So, good on you.
00:08:21.740 You've earned the egg on your face.
00:08:23.440 Hopefully these people shop at Superstore or at least you can pay a better price for better produce.
00:08:27.860 Now, on to a more bitter stupid.
00:08:32.780 This is Peter Downing's latest initiative, I believe.
00:08:36.680 He's the fellow who started Wexit and was going around, had the foresight to realize there's going to be a lot of Western alienation.
00:08:43.520 As he got more increasingly extreme, I think Wexit basically kind of kicked him to the curb.
00:08:48.620 And he's resurfaced with this now, Alberta first in game.
00:08:55.640 And he wants Alberta, I guess, to join the United States.
00:08:59.080 So, he's modeled this flag.
00:09:02.000 Isn't that beautiful?
00:09:02.980 The Confederate flag, which has nothing to do with Canada or Alberta.
00:09:07.920 It's a symbol that even Mississippi said, you know what, this thing is out of date.
00:09:10.460 They voted on that in the last election and said, we're going to change our flag because it just doesn't represent what we're about anymore.
00:09:15.260 It's a part of their history, but they don't need to display it for what it is.
00:09:18.360 And he's got little maple leafs in there.
00:09:20.560 What the fuck, dude?
00:09:21.640 Dude, this is what kills independence movements, you know, people who do want to examine a constitutional change or Alberta having increased independence within Canada or possibly leaving Canada altogether.
00:09:34.920 When you see this kind of crap from a leader within the independence movement, how much do you think it draws people towards you?
00:09:42.460 Because you do need the general public.
00:09:44.300 You will need a strong majority vote in a referendum for any province to go.
00:09:51.560 That's in the Clarity Act.
00:09:52.620 And I think that's just in basic principle.
00:09:54.760 I mean, for something that major, we want to make sure the majority really actually wants it.
00:09:59.580 And you're not going to get the majority when you pull off shit like that.
00:10:04.880 So, just go away, Peter.
00:10:06.460 Just go away.
00:10:08.380 But he gave me something to rant about, I guess.
00:10:11.620 See how that goes.
00:10:12.680 Getting on to electoral nightmares.
00:10:14.600 I guess I better address it.
00:10:16.160 This image, I know.
00:10:17.300 I know.
00:10:17.780 It's still going to the courts.
00:10:19.220 It's still being counted.
00:10:20.180 It's still changing, potentially.
00:10:23.720 And, fine.
00:10:25.780 What a mess.
00:10:26.860 You know, what a mess.
00:10:28.180 I remember sitting up all night waiting on the gore and bush and then waiting for weeks with the hanging chads and all that, that crap.
00:10:36.520 And it's just, maybe it's time, at least whatever comes out of this election.
00:10:43.760 I really don't want to jump too far into speculations on who won or what's going on with it.
00:10:49.080 It's looking pretty likely like Biden's got it.
00:10:50.780 And I know there's some mail-in stuff and things, but I don't know.
00:10:53.620 We'll see what happens.
00:10:55.420 Why does it always have to be such a damn mess?
00:10:57.780 You know, I'm not talking about getting rid of the electoral college either or things like that.
00:11:01.660 But just the system for casting and counting ballots, can't you at least make that uniform?
00:11:09.580 I understand.
00:11:10.560 And I like the fact that there is so much state-by-state independence in the states.
00:11:15.420 You know, they've got so much autonomy because they are quite different.
00:11:17.620 I've traveled a lot in the United States.
00:11:19.620 I spent a lot of time down there.
00:11:21.240 And Texans are nothing like the people you find in Oregon.
00:11:24.340 And the people in Oregon aren't like the people you find in Pennsylvania.
00:11:26.860 Well, the people in western Pennsylvania aren't anything like the people in eastern Pennsylvania and so on.
00:11:32.520 And they need some autonomy so that they can still stay as one unit.
00:11:35.700 But for something that's a federal election, it's the whole country.
00:11:38.880 Why can't they just, you know, because what they have right now is like 50 different little elections.
00:11:42.920 And they all got to put it together.
00:11:44.440 And that's why you get these delayed results.
00:11:45.800 And this place had their count in within hours.
00:11:47.580 And this place takes weeks.
00:11:48.780 It's just kind of absurd.
00:11:50.760 So maybe, maybe just set a goal to standardize the electoral methods for the next election.
00:11:57.520 That's all.
00:11:58.560 I'm not talking about the electoral college and other things.
00:12:00.500 But just one way for everybody to vote and count votes and so on.
00:12:04.860 And they'll all come out at the same time.
00:12:06.320 Oh, there'll be division and there'll be things.
00:12:09.360 But at least it's one improvement maybe.
00:12:12.800 The worst sort of thing kind of happened in this.
00:12:16.620 You know, I talked about that when we were on the panel last week.
00:12:19.400 And I really didn't want to see a close election.
00:12:24.460 I mean, I've made no secret.
00:12:25.600 I'm not a fan of Trump.
00:12:26.580 Never really have been.
00:12:27.540 If I lived in the States, I still probably would have voted for him.
00:12:30.060 I would have held my nose to do so.
00:12:31.600 Because I think Biden's worse than Trump.
00:12:33.360 And as Albertan, he's definitely worse than Trump for us.
00:12:36.840 But I just didn't want to see a close race.
00:12:40.860 You know, if one side or another is going to win, let it be definitive so that they're not fighting and arguing for four years over who won.
00:12:47.100 Well, we didn't get that.
00:12:49.460 But no matter what happens, they're going to be fighting for four more friggin' years.
00:12:53.980 You know, the irony of all this, again, I don't think Trump did all that great a job.
00:12:57.760 He didn't do all that bad a job, too.
00:12:58.880 He got a lot more crap than was warranted with him.
00:13:02.080 The media certainly turned against them.
00:13:03.820 The mistrust and everything in general down there has just been horrific.
00:13:06.480 And up here, our media is no friggin' better.
00:13:10.440 But if the Democrats had just had a sane, solid candidate and campaign, I'm pretty sure they could have won this thing definitively.
00:13:18.500 I mean, they didn't take the Senate.
00:13:21.680 They didn't make much, if anything, for gains in Congress.
00:13:24.160 Like, this wasn't a giant victory.
00:13:25.700 I mean, all they did, which was what they were all fanatically about doing, though, was it was perhaps, and we'll see, once all the court challenges are done, may have unseated Trump.
00:13:33.760 But that's because they spent four years trying to overturn it through impeachments and other challenges and other crap.
00:13:40.000 Spend the four years getting ready for the next four years, or two of them.
00:13:42.680 You know, you've got midterms coming up.
00:13:44.020 Whoever loses this election, spend the next two years getting ready for the next election.
00:13:48.960 Try and take Congress, or maintain Congress, or whoever you might be, instead of freaking out claiming that the last election wasn't valid.
00:13:57.260 Because it's just not going to do you any favors in the long run.
00:14:01.220 Elections are tough, and they take some work over some time.
00:14:04.040 But getting on to morons who were elected, so this is distressing.
00:14:08.720 And this is where I'm talking about Biden being much worse for Alberta than Trump.
00:14:11.320 There's no doubt about that.
00:14:12.660 Biden's promise to shut down the Keystone and other things are very troubling.
00:14:16.680 I'm hoping it'll be one of those election promises that, and there's so many when it comes to politicians in every country, that they just kind of ignore once it's inconvenient.
00:14:24.520 I'm hoping Biden kind of ignores that one, because it's such a big project.
00:14:27.560 And they're going to lose a lot of money in the lawsuits if they back off.
00:14:30.240 I mean, that thing's damn near built.
00:14:31.100 But either way, Justin already jumped in there and spoke with Biden.
00:14:35.200 You know, the president of Mexico, who's their biggest trading partner, has already publicly said he's going to stay out of this until it's fully settled.
00:14:40.900 He's just not touching it, which is the smart move to do.
00:14:44.340 This is our biggest partner, our strongest partner.
00:14:48.320 When that elephant moves over, we feel it, whether we like it or not.
00:14:52.200 Don't want to piss them off needlessly.
00:14:53.820 I mean, it doesn't mean we always have to bend over to the Americans, but you want to be diplomatic.
00:14:58.140 But Justin jumped right in there and talked to Biden.
00:14:59.580 And so I guess Justin better really hope Biden wins, because Trump is going to despise him all the more if he ends up remaining president.
00:15:08.720 So it's a gamble there, Justin, on our behalf, unfortunately.
00:15:13.700 But the other thing is he wants to work on the challenges facing us with COVID, okay, whatever, and climate change.
00:15:19.540 You see, Justin's as anti-Alberta as Biden is, probably more so.
00:15:22.900 So this does not bode well, and these are the first two things Justin wants to talk about.
00:15:27.700 We've got economies that are in the toilet.
00:15:31.180 We are in a catastrophe, not just a pandemic catastrophe, an economic catastrophe.
00:15:36.280 Justin didn't mention the economy in his little tweet there, which he really should have.
00:15:40.920 And one of the things that could help the economy, keep energy prices low, keep people working, get the damn Keystone pipeline through.
00:15:46.600 But if he's not going to advocate on that pipeline on our behalf, I don't see Biden changing his mind much on it.
00:15:52.380 Biden, look at this picture from him.
00:15:55.160 I'm in the middle there looking off, all of us united, how unifying.
00:16:00.080 Nice red kind of background color looking off into the future.
00:16:04.880 Uncle Joe, you know, rather than creepy Joe, let's be nice, he's Uncle Joe.
00:16:08.000 There was an Uncle Joe before, that was Stalin, and they put out imagery that was astoundingly similar.
00:16:16.520 You know, you've got the nation, the country, you've got those faces all pointing in one direction.
00:16:20.440 They're looking ahead, and they're stoic, and they're strong, and they're red.
00:16:26.420 I don't know if it was subconscious or purposeful, but it doesn't make me more comfortable with the Biden administration.
00:16:32.700 Either way, moving on from old Uncle Joe.
00:16:40.300 Yes, everybody's panicking about the COVID again.
00:16:43.260 This thing that is castrated.
00:16:44.740 I'm just going to talk Alberta-wise.
00:16:46.400 You know, our economy has been disrupted.
00:16:48.360 It's been a mess.
00:16:49.260 It's been a catastrophe.
00:16:51.700 Less than 400 people died out of 4.4 million.
00:16:54.520 It's good.
00:16:55.040 I'm glad the, you know, the risk hasn't been nearly as bad as people make out.
00:16:58.200 But now the cases, and as people start referring to it, I am not one of the conspiracy theorists.
00:17:02.440 Look, COVID exists.
00:17:04.240 It does kill people.
00:17:05.720 It is dangerous.
00:17:06.780 And you know what?
00:17:07.740 When a vaccine comes, if a vaccine comes, there's another big one.
00:17:10.580 And it sounds like some good news on it today from Pfizer.
00:17:13.540 The timing really feeds the conspiracy theorists.
00:17:16.180 But they feel they have one that may be 90% effective.
00:17:19.440 That would be great.
00:17:20.240 And if it's tested and safe, I will get it.
00:17:23.620 I'm not anti-vax, though I do worry about rushed vaccines.
00:17:26.560 Either way, it's not nearly, though, the plague that they try to make it out to be.
00:17:33.420 Or as I said earlier, it's nothing like the Spanish flu.
00:17:36.300 It's not that bad.
00:17:37.700 Cases are rising in Alberta.
00:17:39.200 Now, we've got some challenges.
00:17:40.400 It's pressuring our health system.
00:17:41.600 I think we've got some questions that if our health system is that fragile, particularly this far into the pandemic.
00:17:46.760 But, I mean, we're up to, what was it, 600, 700 cases that came up today.
00:17:51.260 No one's cases.
00:17:51.980 And they're not all in the hospital or whatnot.
00:17:53.580 70 doctors, though.
00:17:54.480 They're screaming.
00:17:55.320 And they, oh, don't worry.
00:17:55.960 Old Rachel Notley's right in the background screaming for it, too.
00:17:58.780 Lockdown.
00:17:59.120 We want to lock down.
00:17:59.820 We want to shut things down.
00:18:01.180 We want to put everybody out of work.
00:18:04.060 Send everybody home.
00:18:05.060 It's easy to say when you're on a fucking salary.
00:18:07.520 You know?
00:18:08.260 When you're a government worker.
00:18:09.980 When you're talking about hundreds of thousands, maybe a couple of million people are going to be out of work.
00:18:14.740 Who've been out of work periodically throughout this year.
00:18:17.340 Whose companies are going broke.
00:18:18.860 Whose employers might have gone broke.
00:18:20.660 Hang on with this bloody lockdown talk.
00:18:23.140 That's a last resort.
00:18:25.060 Last resort.
00:18:26.160 And we're nowhere near that desperate.
00:18:28.860 God, these guys have no sense of the damage they're doing when they pull this shit.
00:18:31.800 They really don't.
00:18:33.120 But that's what they're doing.
00:18:33.880 They're howling for it.
00:18:34.500 The media are giving them all the press.
00:18:35.960 And Notley and their little clowns are all jumping around.
00:18:37.680 We've got to lock down.
00:18:38.240 We've got to lock down.
00:18:38.680 We've got to lock down.
00:18:39.340 Jesus.
00:18:40.420 So let's look at the stats.
00:18:41.520 What have we got?
00:18:42.000 What do you want to shut down our economy again for weeks?
00:18:44.740 Put hundreds and hundreds of thousands of people out of work for.
00:18:47.580 What?
00:18:48.040 More billions into debt.
00:18:49.960 For what?
00:18:52.220 369 deaths so far.
00:18:55.200 192 in the hospital.
00:18:56.400 39 in ICU.
00:18:57.660 This is 4.4 million people in Alberta.
00:19:01.020 Yes, I know.
00:19:01.740 It's growing.
00:19:02.580 You've been saying that for six fucking months.
00:19:04.440 And it goes up and down.
00:19:05.700 We're in a big spike right now.
00:19:06.900 But the deaths are flat.
00:19:08.260 Six people died today.
00:19:09.400 That's tragic for six people.
00:19:10.700 It is.
00:19:11.160 When you do a lockdown, you put millions of people out of work.
00:19:15.860 You put stress and pressure on everybody.
00:19:19.500 And it's causing damage.
00:19:21.840 Real damage.
00:19:23.440 I mean, opioid deaths.
00:19:24.460 You want to lock down.
00:19:25.500 Opioid deaths have long and far surpassed COVID deaths.
00:19:30.300 More are dying from overdoses.
00:19:32.160 And it's a spike.
00:19:32.940 It's doubled in the last year.
00:19:34.180 It's directly tied to the stresses and challenges and CERB and a number of things with COVID has got the people on this drugs and they're overdosing.
00:19:44.520 That's just one of the factors that lockdowns are causing more damage than good.
00:19:48.340 So be careful when you're screaming for these lockdowns.
00:19:50.540 And I understand some people are well-meaning when they're calling for these lockdowns.
00:19:54.880 But there's some real questions about whether these lockdowns even help.
00:19:58.340 There's some solid ones.
00:19:59.420 I mean, we're six, seven months into this thing now.
00:20:01.340 We're starting to see some real numbers and we can't pretend we don't know about this thing anymore.
00:20:07.240 We're knowing a lot more.
00:20:08.300 And it turns out that only a small, tiny percentage of the population is vulnerable.
00:20:11.960 So let's do everything we can to protect them.
00:20:14.260 I mean, what we've got going on in Alberta right now, part of the reason there's a big spike in some hospitalization is because it's gotten into our hospitals.
00:20:20.520 That's concerning.
00:20:21.380 Of course it is.
00:20:21.980 That's our most vulnerable people.
00:20:23.280 The number of hospitals have infections with them.
00:20:25.460 Let's get on that.
00:20:26.360 Let's see what we can do.
00:20:27.300 But locking down the whole province to try and address this doesn't look like it's even going to help.
00:20:32.920 Hey, so let's talk about the most hated country in the world, those evil blonde bastards.
00:20:37.700 The Swedes.
00:20:38.180 Eh, no bikini shots this week.
00:20:39.380 It's too cold.
00:20:40.000 It doesn't work right.
00:20:41.740 The Swedes.
00:20:42.420 Yes, I like bringing them up every couple weeks.
00:20:44.300 Why?
00:20:44.660 Because they were right.
00:20:46.660 They didn't lock down.
00:20:48.880 They didn't make mask laws.
00:20:51.080 They didn't shut down their hairstyles.
00:20:52.400 They didn't shut down their schools.
00:20:53.360 They did things.
00:20:54.000 They stopped larger gatherings.
00:20:56.100 They upped their health care game.
00:20:58.040 They did a number of things.
00:20:58.760 They screwed up at the start.
00:20:59.860 They put a bunch of infected people into their seniors' homes, which led to a terrible death rate at the very early part of the pandemic.
00:21:05.720 As every country had a big death rate at the early part of the pandemic.
00:21:08.700 Those deaths have gone down.
00:21:10.380 Again, by every measure, Sweden should be the worst on earth.
00:21:12.600 They should be the worst.
00:21:13.380 And they aren't even close.
00:21:14.160 They aren't even close.
00:21:14.640 But they are having, as we are, as you can see here, a spike in cases.
00:21:19.140 The whole world has got a spike in cases right now.
00:21:21.740 The cooler weather, the season, whatever number of factors.
00:21:24.040 But the cases are really shooting up fast and hard.
00:21:26.640 But look at the deaths.
00:21:27.780 The deaths are the chart there.
00:21:30.180 It's reversed on this thing.
00:21:31.520 Either way, the top chart is the deaths, if you can't read that.
00:21:34.280 They're spiking a little bit here at the end of October.
00:21:36.500 You don't want people to die.
00:21:37.720 But look at it.
00:21:38.940 It's nothing, guys.
00:21:39.980 It's not that big.
00:21:40.780 The cases are going through the roof.
00:21:42.080 And the deaths are not reflecting it.
00:21:45.280 Something's wrong here.
00:21:46.300 I mean, if these lockdowns were the be-all and end-all, Sweden's deaths should be through the roof.
00:21:52.440 They're not.
00:21:53.700 And there's been studies done.
00:21:55.160 So this is a large study that was done looking at over 50 nations and a bunch of factors.
00:22:00.760 And it's in The Lancet.
00:22:01.640 You can look it up.
00:22:02.600 The Lancet's a pretty respected medical journal.
00:22:04.780 And you can see somebody showed the conclusion below, though, that there's found no correlation whatsoever between the severity of the lockdown and the number of deaths.
00:22:17.560 That's pretty striking, isn't it?
00:22:20.420 No.
00:22:21.020 No correlation.
00:22:21.880 Not even a slight correlation.
00:22:23.360 So we're doing cost-benefit.
00:22:25.020 There might not be any benefit to these lockdowns.
00:22:27.100 This bug might be sliding right through our lockdowns.
00:22:29.800 We're bankrupting ourselves and the bug's just sliding right by us anyway.
00:22:32.260 I'm not saying we should do nothing, but let's not put all our eggs into the lockdown basket.
00:22:36.520 It doesn't seem to be working.
00:22:38.260 And let's talk about that.
00:22:39.180 Doug Ford, the moron.
00:22:40.420 And, yeah, I'm totally, the shine is off that guy for a number of reasons, but particularly on the way he's dealt with the pandemic.
00:22:46.240 He panicked on October 9th.
00:22:47.960 Shut down all the restaurants and bars again.
00:22:51.220 You know, gyms, a whole bunch of things.
00:22:53.100 Well, let's look at it.
00:22:54.060 It's been a month since that happened.
00:22:56.180 There's the chart above showing COVID deaths right up to now.
00:22:58.960 Or not deaths, sorry.
00:22:59.880 Not deaths.
00:23:01.560 Cases.
00:23:03.060 They're going up, constantly spiking.
00:23:05.460 Their curve is just like any other province that didn't lock down.
00:23:09.340 His lockdown appears not to have had any effect on it whatsoever.
00:23:13.620 So if it's not having an effect, why the hell are we doing it?
00:23:16.320 I mean, if it worked, you know, if you could see a big downward spike from October 9th, you know, two weeks later,
00:23:21.800 because it's always two weeks later, you know, that the case is dropped or flatlined or leveled,
00:23:26.440 then we said, oh, geez, maybe we better lock down and see if we can get this under control.
00:23:30.100 But it doesn't seem to be doing a damn thing.
00:23:32.880 You know, during our biggest lockdown was the time when we had the most cases back in spring, too.
00:23:36.660 We were really locked down then.
00:23:37.800 Our schools, our hairdressers, our everything.
00:23:40.380 And the cases, you know, as we eased off, the cases leveled out through summer.
00:23:44.640 Now we're getting a spike in cases.
00:23:45.640 But the deaths, again, aren't going up much.
00:23:50.140 You know, some people are dying.
00:23:51.440 The average age of them is 82.
00:23:54.420 You know, I wish they'd all make it to 100.
00:23:56.260 But we've got to get a little realistic with our reaction to this thing here.
00:23:59.400 So when 70 doctors are screaming and howling for lockdown in Alberta,
00:24:02.200 come on, please, Premier Kenney, think hard.
00:24:06.860 And I think he has been.
00:24:08.420 Among premiers, he's been the one at least most reticent about really castrating our economy
00:24:13.360 to try and fight this invisible monster here.
00:24:15.440 So I'm going to get on.
00:24:16.820 That's enough about COVID for today.
00:24:19.860 And get on to when.
00:24:21.680 And you can tell it's an election year in Calgary.
00:24:24.760 Because suddenly they've rediscovered fiscal conservatism, responsibility,
00:24:30.000 all these things that these lying assholes claim to be when they're on their way in.
00:24:33.380 And she claimed to be pro-business.
00:24:34.520 I think pretty much everybody agrees he's the most anti-business mayor we've seen in a generation.
00:24:40.500 And our businesses are reflected as well.
00:24:42.460 The economy, the taxes.
00:24:43.940 But, of course, in election year, as with four years ago,
00:24:46.640 four years ago I think they froze the property taxes.
00:24:49.140 Now they're just saying they could even lower them.
00:24:51.680 This year.
00:24:52.180 But you see, you know what he's going to do if he gets back in.
00:24:54.120 Is he'll triple them the year after.
00:24:55.220 They're not going to cut the spending.
00:24:56.280 They're just cutting the taxes.
00:24:57.140 They're kicking the can down the road.
00:24:59.680 He's got his purple gin diaper on there.
00:25:02.720 And then things he's virtue signaling.
00:25:04.520 Getting ready for the season.
00:25:05.820 For the electoral push.
00:25:07.540 And he hasn't committed to it.
00:25:08.580 Because his approval numbers are in the toilet.
00:25:11.540 Very, very vain man.
00:25:13.260 So, he's not going to commit until he's really sure he can win this thing.
00:25:16.440 Of course, he doesn't want to look like he's running away from Farkas.
00:25:18.640 Plus, he's never going to get a gig as sweet as this one.
00:25:20.660 I mean, the kind of pay and profile he's getting.
00:25:22.940 So, he's not quitting quite yet.
00:25:24.340 We'll see.
00:25:24.920 It's a toss-up as to whether or not an inchie stays in.
00:25:28.420 Then we get into the stupidity end of things, though.
00:25:30.960 So, here's another one.
00:25:31.900 Keating.
00:25:32.400 He was terrible.
00:25:33.540 He voted to spend almost as much as Drew Farrell.
00:25:36.420 Again, he came in supposedly as a pro-business conservative.
00:25:39.460 No, it's pure bullshit.
00:25:40.560 He just sang the tune so he could get in there and then turn into the leftist fool that he is.
00:25:45.620 And he is.
00:25:46.900 He's not even running again, thankfully.
00:25:49.360 Hopefully, we just don't replace him with another Keating.
00:25:53.080 But he's making excuses because they voted and they defunded the police.
00:25:57.300 And they're trying to polish a turd.
00:25:59.380 You know, they're trying to say, no, no.
00:26:01.080 We reallocated.
00:26:02.140 We didn't defund.
00:26:02.840 Look, you got this pile of money here for the police.
00:26:04.780 You took money out of it and you put it somewhere else.
00:26:07.400 It's still defunding.
00:26:08.380 The police have less money than they had to begin with.
00:26:11.120 And you're not doing it to try and balance the whole budget.
00:26:14.420 You're not doing it to try and have targeted community things to reduce the need.
00:26:20.840 And, again, it's BS.
00:26:23.980 You're doing it to pander to the extremists at Black Lives Matter, which have you guys terrified with your tails between your little legs and this ridiculous blind defund movement.
00:26:34.160 And that's what it is.
00:26:34.920 And Black Lives Matter are extreme.
00:26:36.360 I'll say that in every grant because it's the truth.
00:26:38.160 All you have to do is go to their own site, Black Lives Matter Canada.
00:26:41.400 They aren't calling for reallocations.
00:26:43.880 They want the police abolished.
00:26:45.280 They want them gone.
00:26:45.940 They're in this fruit loop world of no police.
00:26:48.180 You know, as a libertarian, I'd almost like to see it.
00:26:49.740 That's fine.
00:26:50.420 Me and my neighbors would band together, put some money together.
00:26:53.000 So, assuming we get the associated tax break when the police are gone.
00:26:56.000 And we'll get a private police force.
00:26:58.780 I don't think the criminal element would like that.
00:27:02.340 It could be a little rougher on them than the sensitivity-trained police we have today.
00:27:07.920 But either way, Keating, piss off.
00:27:09.900 You didn't reallocate.
00:27:11.040 You guys voted to defund, and that's what it was.
00:27:13.200 That's what the vote was about.
00:27:14.800 Let's not BS around there.
00:27:17.500 There's the little BS meter.
00:27:18.660 It's gone, you know, quite high on the chart there with Keating, as it's prone to doing.
00:27:24.620 So, let's look here.
00:27:25.860 Save Calgary kindly posted this picture just so we can all remember.
00:27:30.140 Let's remember this through this year as we're voting.
00:27:32.400 These are the ones that voted to defund.
00:27:33.560 Ward Sutherland, there's another turd, you know, really came in on supposedly being responsible.
00:27:39.940 It just turned out to be terrible.
00:27:43.400 You know, Karra, well, you know, at least with him, I could respect him.
00:27:45.860 Or Farrell, we always knew they were leftists.
00:27:48.280 You know, Wooley, I'll get to him later.
00:27:50.580 And some of these others.
00:27:51.360 Sean Chu, you know, what would he, you know, of course, he voted to keep funding for the police.
00:27:55.760 But he was only a member of the police force for decades.
00:27:57.720 What would he know, right?
00:27:59.140 Diane Collinger-Cart voted to keep money on.
00:28:00.840 She's been, well, it might be too long, but all the same, spent a lot of time on the police commissions and things like that.
00:28:06.360 Farkas, who got kicked off of the police commission or committee because he wasn't big on this defunding idea.
00:28:12.860 And also this groveling statement of having them try and all admit that the police are inherently evil and racist and just out to, you know, kill people of color or something.
00:28:23.720 It's just absurd.
00:28:25.300 Look at this gang of clowns and keep that in mind when you pick who to vote for this year.
00:28:30.380 This year, we've got one chance to flush these assholes out and you're stuck with them for four more years.
00:28:35.680 So I think he's gotten heated over it.
00:28:37.760 And yeah, Evan Woolley.
00:28:39.780 Evan Woolley is the chode of the week.
00:28:41.580 And he's earned it.
00:28:42.820 He's earned it a number of times.
00:28:44.360 He's a hipster peckerhead, you know, from downtown Calgary.
00:28:48.060 And he went off on a tantrum because Sean Chu, again, didn't support his defunding the police crap and called Chu one of the most ignorant morons in the city council.
00:28:57.400 Every developer that donates to him is a target that I will push.
00:29:00.940 I'm not 100% sure even what he was getting at with that.
00:29:04.660 Oh, it was pretty clear what he was getting at with Chu.
00:29:07.400 Eh, whatever.
00:29:08.380 I name call all the time.
00:29:09.520 God knows I'm calling Woolley a peckerhead right now in the chode of the week.
00:29:12.460 That's not a big deal.
00:29:13.360 And Sean's got thick skin.
00:29:14.360 I'm not too worried about him there.
00:29:16.300 And Woolley has since refused to apologize for that.
00:29:18.320 What I'm more concerned about is his threat, though.
00:29:21.500 His threat.
00:29:22.040 You're a sitting counselor.
00:29:24.380 And you're saying that every developer that donates to Chu is a target that you will push.
00:29:30.940 You type this at 20 to 2 in the morning.
00:29:32.880 I wonder if you meant punish.
00:29:34.780 I don't know.
00:29:35.520 I haven't really clarified on that.
00:29:36.960 So, this is getting into that world similar to Gil McCowan, who got the chode of the week for that before, where you're going to start targeting, literally the term he used, donors to political opponents.
00:29:49.440 And are you going to use your city authority to, what, hold up permits?
00:29:54.440 Shut them down?
00:29:55.620 Take away their licenses?
00:29:57.360 Influence bureaucrats to delay projects?
00:30:00.600 What's your plan there, Evan?
00:30:01.740 What's that threat about?
00:30:02.860 That is a big, big concern.
00:30:05.880 Very big concern.
00:30:07.680 And developers, they're really out to demonize the big, bad developers right now.
00:30:11.280 You know, if you live in a house in the city, it's probably built by a developer.
00:30:15.000 Even if you're in your city, they were just older developers.
00:30:17.360 They're not inherently bad.
00:30:18.540 They're providing a service that people want.
00:30:20.340 But that's a discussion for another day.
00:30:22.260 The hypocrisy of Evan Woolley, too.
00:30:23.800 So, here's his spending, his financial statement from the last election.
00:30:29.480 He spent almost $183,000 on his election campaign in the last election.
00:30:35.000 This is a city councilor.
00:30:38.400 $183,000?
00:30:39.960 What the hell?
00:30:41.140 How much do you need to spend?
00:30:41.960 Either way, I couldn't print the whole thing on here.
00:30:44.380 I didn't want to bother with it.
00:30:45.200 Anyways, if you want to go, it's all online.
00:30:46.520 The disclosure's there.
00:30:47.760 He's got piles of developers that have donated to him.
00:30:50.180 I do hope they're going to slap their checkbook shut in light of this guy feeling that he can use his position to threaten people who donate to his opponents.
00:30:59.840 That's an affront to democracy.
00:31:01.780 To be honest, it should go to the Ethics Commissioner.
00:31:03.520 Maybe it will.
00:31:05.360 Either way, Evan, you're Choate.
00:31:08.700 You're the Choate of the Week.
00:31:10.280 I hope you're the Unemployed Choate of the Week in a year and a bit from now.
00:31:14.000 Now, that's how I'll close off the rant for tonight.
00:31:17.740 Y'all have a good night, and I'm sure I'll have a lot of stupidity and stuff to bitch about next week.
