00:00:00.000 Good day. It's August 24th, 2022. My name is Dave Naylor. I'm the news editor of the Western
00:00:07.660 Standard. And here's what we're working on at the moment. Our Mike Damore has got a big exclusive
00:00:13.260 out of Vancouver Island, where nurses and families are concerned over what's happening at a long-term
00:00:21.380 care facility. The facility is now housing, or will be housing, psychiatric patients and drug
00:00:29.140 addicts. And nurses and the family are concerned about what's going to happen. They're not supposed
00:00:36.240 to interact with each other, the patients, but one of the psychiatric patients is already attacked,
00:00:44.100 a resident of the long-term care home, and staff and family members are worried that there's more
00:00:50.240 to come. There's more fallout from Western University's decision to enforce vaccine mandates
00:00:56.680 when students return this fall. One of their affiliated colleges has put their hands up and
00:01:01.700 said, hell no, we won't do it. So our Jonathan Bradley's got that story up at the moment.
00:01:08.380 It's also got one on the Finnish prime minister, our favorite world politician at the moment.
00:01:13.660 She has issued a public apology, got quite emotional about it, saying, you know, she's a young woman,
00:01:21.720 she has a right to enjoy herself and keeps work and partying separate. We've also got the NDP saying
00:01:31.780 that Canada should follow what Germany's doing in trying to get rid of oil and gas production.
00:01:40.160 Well, I mean, the Germans are being cut off from gas from the Russians because of the Ukrainian war,
00:01:45.740 and they've been told to stock up on firewood to try and help heat themselves this winter. But that's
00:01:51.280 apparently what the NDP wants Canadians to come up with. Hackers got involved on the AHS EMS Facebook
00:02:01.540 page last night, and we're playing video games for a while before officials figured out what was going
00:02:08.160 on. Our Arthur Green's got the story on that. So that's what we've got for now. I'm Dave Naylor,
00:02:13.940 news editor of the Western Standard. Thanks for watching.
00:02:19.480 The Alberta Prosperity Project and Rebel News are hosting a special UCP leadership dinner and
00:02:25.040 forum at the Edmonton Convention Centre. We're asking the UCP leadership candidates tough but
00:02:30.040 fair questions, like how will they protect our rights and freedoms from the United Nations Agenda 2030
00:02:35.300 and World Economic Forum's Great Reset? How will they fight the climate change initiative?
00:02:39.880 And how will they counter inflation? You won't want to miss this event. Get your ticket
