00:00:38.080 matter appears to have been done. Could you imagine the outrage if we never excavated and investigated

00:00:43.920 at the Picton farm site when it was discovered that murders had taken place there? The allegations at

00:00:48.720 the Kamloops school site are more horrific and involved several orders, more victims than than

00:00:54.240 Picton's acts, yet there's been no forensic follow-up. When the GPR anomalies at the school site were

00:01:00.160 publicly reported in 2021, it rocked the nation and made international headlines. We had protests

00:01:06.320 erupting across the country. Over 70 churches have been burned to the ground. Canadian flags were kept

00:01:11.680 at half-mast for over six months, and a new national holiday was created to address the tragedy. Not to

00:01:17.840 mention, of course, the government floodgates of spending and chronic apologies opened right up,

00:01:22.800 yet no further investigation was done. Now, of course, people are starting to speak up. They're

00:01:28.400 saying, well, wait, what happened? Questions are being asked, and why shouldn't they be? Stories claimed

00:01:34.720 that 200 children were killed and secretly buried in an apple orchard in the 1950s and 60s.

00:01:42.640 The perpetrators in that case might still be alive and on the loose. Also, shouldn't we be trying to

00:01:46.960 identify these victims so the remains can be repatriated to their families? In response to the

00:01:52.480 questions that people are starting to ask now, the government, though, is responding by saying it

00:01:56.320 might illegalize the questions. An independent special interlocutor on unmarked graves has asked

00:02:03.280 the Justice Department to illegalize what they're calling residential school denialism. And Justice

00:02:09.680 Minister David Labetti has said he's open to the idea. The person assigned to dealing with the alleged

00:02:15.040 graves appears to be more concerned with shutting down discourse than actually dealing with what's

00:02:19.520 happened with these graves. Now, of course, they're using the term denialism purposely to try and draw

00:02:25.520 a parallel to Holocaust deniers. There's several reasons, though, we can't compare the questioning of the

00:02:32.080 lack of investigation into alleged graves with people who question the actual existence of the Holocaust. I

00:02:38.720 mean, to begin with, there were records tracking the horrific mass murder carried out during the

00:02:43.600 Holocaust. The Nazis were actually horrifically meticulous record keepers when it came to that.

00:02:50.400 It was known who entered those camps and who was killed. Now, residential schools kept record as well.

00:02:56.400 The schools needed to do so if only to ensure they got their government transfers per child.

00:03:01.200 Deaths were recorded. But there's no records of over 200 children dying and being buried in Kamloops.

00:03:07.200 The Holocaust also had witnesses in the millions, actually, from the Allied forces and Russian

00:03:13.040 liberators who showed up in the camps, to local citizens in the areas of the camps, to the survivors

00:03:17.920 of the camps, to the camp guards. The atrocities committed were well witnessed and corroborated.

00:03:24.720 Now, all their stories have been made of children being hung from hooks and thrown into the furnace at

00:03:30.240 the Kamloops school and things such as that, claims that children were taken out in the night and

00:03:33.680 forced to dig graves to bury their compatriots. But there's no corroborating witnesses to these acts.

00:03:40.080 The Holocaust left millions of families seeking lost loved ones for decades. But there's no records

00:03:46.880 of any families claiming to have had children disappear at the Kamloops residential school site.

00:03:52.080 So where did these kids come from? And where were their families? Where are their families?

00:03:56.800 Most importantly, encountering deniers. The Holocaust had bodies. Millions of them. From pits filled with

00:04:03.680 charred bones and ash to mass graves to literal piles of bodies found by liberators. At the Kamloops

00:04:10.880 site to date, not a single body has been recovered. The count is zero. GPR. It's an effective tool for

00:04:18.480 finding ground disturbances, but it can't distinguish between what could be a grave or what could be an old

00:04:23.600 outhouse pit. Excavations must be done. And this was stated even as part of the original report on the

00:04:29.520 GPR anomalies found at the Kamloops site. In a different site, six months after the Kamloops anomalies

00:04:35.520 were discovered, a GPR survey was carried out on the site of a former hospital in Edmonton, where it was

00:04:40.720 alleged that indigenous victims of ill treatment were buried. The GPR identified 34 anomalies thought to be

00:04:47.280 graves. Yes, everybody was rending and losing it there. Oh my god, here we go. It's even more.

00:04:53.440 So with the supervision of indigenous elders, the anomalies were all carefully excavated over the

00:04:58.560 course of several days. But no human remains were found. Not a bit. It's not unreasonable or

00:05:05.760 hateful to ask questions about something as important as the possible mass murder of children.

00:05:10.480 Demanding an investigation of these alleged crimes actually is the opposite of denialism.

00:05:48.480 you know. Well, we've had a mass murder. We've had one of those these horrific things that happened.

00:05:52.000 But no, no, no, we can't investigate further. Well, no, it doesn't work that way.
