00:00:00.000 We've purchased this huge 2,700 square meters building with this huge 7,500 square meters of land
00:00:09.160 and insha'Allah with your help we are going to convert this huge property
00:00:14.280 into the most epic Islamic center in the whole country of Norway.
00:00:19.640 Now this is a sadaqah jaria that will keep on giving you rewards for as long as this masjid stands.
00:00:26.060 Click the button to donate whatever you can.
00:00:30.000 The thing that I'm not clear on is if Allah is all-powerful and all-loving,
00:00:41.360 he is benevolent, then how do those two attributes, how can you reconcile them with free will?
00:00:52.000 Because if he knows what we're going to will, then how, how, and then we sin
00:00:58.000 and ultimately end up in, is it Jahanah, the hell?
00:01:00.860 Jahanah, Jahanah, Jahanah.
00:01:01.360 Yes, then, I think it was a, right, originally the word may have come from a rubbish sheep outside Jerusalem. 1.00
00:01:09.360 Anyway, so if he's all-loving, why would he create beings which are inevitably going to end in Jahanah, in hell, the sun or suffering?
00:01:18.460 Okay, that's a good question.
00:01:21.600 So this question, actually Muslims ask this question as well.
00:01:25.200 And it's a question where a lot of us, we kind of grapple with.
00:01:28.640 Now, I found, I wouldn't say a formula, but I found a way of, because when a person asks this question,
00:01:35.040 they are ridding themselves of accountability.
00:01:37.400 What they're saying is, if God knows where I'm going to go, then what's the point of me doing anything?
00:01:42.060 And I'm like, well, why don't we use that logic in the same way and say, well, if God knows I'm going to go paradise,
00:01:46.340 you know, why is it only with hellfire?
00:01:48.440 Why do we apply it with the paradise?
00:01:50.660 So this is the way I kind of found an answer to it, because when he talks about it, we're compatibilists, yeah?
00:01:57.000 So we don't, we're not determinists in the context that we just believe that God is in full control only.
00:02:02.680 No, we believe God knows, he has willed our action, yes?
00:02:06.640 And also, we have free will.
00:02:08.640 How they work together, we don't know.
00:02:10.200 It's a mystery, we do not know.
00:02:12.460 But, check this out and tell me if that makes sense.
00:02:16.240 What's your name?
00:02:17.320 Strobo. 0.98
00:02:18.420 Strobo. 0.98
00:02:18.960 That's a very unique name.
00:02:20.000 It is.
00:02:20.300 I actually like it, Strobo.
00:02:21.580 I haven't met another.
00:02:23.240 Strobo, I like that.
00:02:24.940 Gal, what's your name?
00:02:26.240 Gal, Ali.
00:02:26.860 Ali, yeah.
00:02:27.700 Gal and Strobo.
00:02:28.920 Yeah, Strobo.
00:02:29.540 That's a very, I like that.
00:02:30.500 I like that.
00:02:32.080 Okay, so my real name is Erdi.
00:02:35.240 Erdi?
00:02:35.700 Yeah, that's my real name, by the way.
00:02:36.820 Yeah, that's my MI5 name.
00:02:38.640 So, okay.
00:02:39.400 Let me put it like this, yeah?
00:02:40.460 So, Strobo and Gal.
00:02:42.980 Gal.
00:02:43.400 Gal, sorry.
00:02:44.320 Gal?
00:02:44.700 Yeah, yeah.
00:02:45.200 Okay, Gal.
00:02:45.560 Gal in my country means come. 0.91
00:02:46.960 Oh, yeah.
00:02:47.460 Gal, okay.
00:02:48.340 So, Gal is someone who believes he's going to go to paradise.
00:02:53.860 Strawberry is somebody who believes he's going hellfire.
00:02:56.700 Argument's sake.
00:02:57.640 You both believe in God, but you're a pessimist, you're an optimist.
00:03:01.700 Yeah?
00:03:01.980 You're optimistic, you're pessimistic.
00:03:03.180 However, Strobo, yeah, believes he's going hellfire, but he, argument's sake.
00:03:11.760 Yeah?
00:03:11.880 Let's go with the Jewish thing, yeah? 0.99
00:03:13.660 It's time for a second, yeah?
00:03:14.740 He believes he's going hellfire, but he still sticks to the Sabbath.
00:03:18.960 He still does whatever he needs to do.
00:03:21.080 Yeah?
00:03:21.220 I don't know what you guys exactly do, yeah?
00:03:22.520 So, he follows the commandments.
00:03:24.040 Yeah?
00:03:24.320 He follows the commandments.
00:03:25.260 Okay?
00:03:26.280 I think you've got a festival coming out with you guys drink alcohol.
00:03:28.900 It's coming out soon, yeah?
00:03:30.100 Okay.
00:03:30.340 So, he's doing everything God tells him to do.
00:03:33.920 Gal is someone who believes he's going to paradise, but he does none of the good deeds.
00:03:39.980 Now, both of you, if you stand in front of God, you as someone who believes go in hellfire,
00:03:48.020 and you've done all the deeds God told you to do, do you think God will send you to hellfire or heaven?
00:03:53.440 Sure are you.
00:03:54.260 Well, again, he determined that I do those good actions.
00:04:03.320 So, yes, but that was also determined.
00:04:06.380 And if Gao, Gao can be a blind optimist, but still commit acts of immorality.
00:04:12.240 But he has no power over his will.
00:04:15.760 So, that is an interesting argument, but it only takes it back a step.
00:04:20.700 There's still that issue.
00:04:22.540 So, I want to give you a disclaimer, we don't believe that, we believe God has willed our action, but he didn't force us to do it.
00:04:29.720 We have free will.
00:04:30.500 I made that very clear.
00:04:31.180 I tell them, they don't listen, what I'm saying is, free will and God's free destiny, they do not conflict.
00:04:40.360 They conflict in our mind because we can't grasp God's work.
00:04:43.040 So, I want to give you a disclaimer.
00:04:44.400 When I do this, this is not God forcing me to do it.
00:04:50.320 He's willed it, but I have chose to do it and I'll do it again.
00:04:54.200 And I'm going to do it again.
00:04:55.020 So, I can't come and say, okay, this is God, no, I'm doing this.
00:04:59.080 However, God has willed it.
00:05:00.200 So, coming back to my question, because we can come to that, I just want to make that disclaimer.
00:05:03.620 When I do these actions, there is no one forcing me to do it.
00:05:08.080 God willing it does not mean he's forcing me to do it.
00:05:11.520 And also, you said God's will.
00:05:15.800 Just before we go there, I'm so sorry, can we not ask the question because it will make a bit of sense.
00:05:21.140 Remember what I said to you, you're a pessimist.
00:05:23.300 He's an optimist, yeah?
00:05:25.500 He's optimistic or pessimistic.
00:05:26.820 You keep all of God's commands.
00:05:28.960 Would God send you to hellfire or heaven?
00:05:33.400 Well, I would hope if I kept his commands, it would be heaven.
00:05:37.660 That's the idea.
00:05:38.340 Okay, girl, based on you, you're an optimistic individual.
00:05:42.760 You believe you're going to paradise, but you keep none of God's commandments and you're a sinner.
00:05:47.440 Would God give you heaven or hell?
00:05:50.140 Well, if I am an optimist, I'll go to heaven.
00:05:52.480 No, no, no.
00:05:53.040 If you're...
00:05:53.600 No, no, no.
00:05:55.280 You're thinking, I'm going to paradise anyways.
00:05:57.540 I'll commit all the sins I like and I'll go against all of God's commands.
00:06:01.540 Just because you think like that, but you actually...
00:06:03.660 Does that mean that I'll go to heaven or hell?
00:06:04.860 No, that doesn't mean...
00:06:06.040 Good.
00:06:06.220 Now, the point that I'm trying to get here is the following, yeah?
00:06:08.960 Because I was thinking about this a lot.
00:06:10.100 Just because one might think they are going to a certain destination, if they do not put in the work, they are not going there, if that makes sense.
00:06:20.480 So, just because you believe you're going to hellfire, but you still follow the God's commandments, which shows what?
00:06:26.980 Your actions play a role in where you end up.
00:06:31.240 I'll repeat again.
00:06:32.280 Your actions...
00:06:32.480 Because the people that ask this question of the issue of, if God knew, they are ridding their self of accountability.
00:06:39.060 They're saying, God knows where I'm going to go.
00:06:41.640 What's the point of me doing anything?
00:06:43.000 And I'm saying, no, hold on a second.
00:06:44.520 Your actions play a role, regardless of where you think God is going to take you.
00:06:48.000 Why did God instill what he wanted?
00:06:50.920 What...
00:06:51.300 How he wanted humans to act?
00:06:53.740 He gave...
00:06:54.180 Not instill.
00:06:54.800 He asked you to do it.
00:06:55.940 Well, I think it was revealed, wasn't it, in the Quran and in the Hadith.
00:07:01.100 So, coming back to my argument, the thing that I was making here, Strawberry and Gel, I'm actually bad with names, but that's a very unique name.
00:07:07.840 And yours.
00:07:08.740 So, therefore, it shows us what?
00:07:11.660 Our actions play a role in where we can go.
00:07:15.100 One disclaimer.
00:07:16.340 In Islam, we believe, it's initially...
00:07:20.860 The main thing is this.
00:07:22.240 You enter paradise by the mercy of God.
00:07:24.820 So, no works you can do is...
00:07:26.800 You can't come to God and say, hey, God, look how righteous I was.
00:07:30.140 You cannot pay God back for the blessing of the eye that you have.
00:07:33.540 So, in totality, it's actually God's mercy that you enter paradise, but does not mean that you don't do actions.
00:07:41.220 You do actions because of who he is.
00:07:44.040 He's deserving of those actions.
00:07:45.200 So, could you not have...
00:07:47.400 So, you're saying that ignorance... 0.97
00:07:49.980 If you are ignorant of the word, then you're exempt... 0.98
00:07:54.820 In some respects. 0.83
00:07:55.940 In this life, you would have a test on the Day of Judgment.
00:07:58.680 So, if I was ignorant, but I lived a terrible life, and I indulged in the worst acts of immorality, 0.92
00:08:05.800 I would still have a chance of getting into heaven, purely on the grounds that I was ignorant of Islam. 0.99
00:08:12.600 No, because in Islam, for example...
00:08:15.280 Sorry, I'm sorry for interrupting, but from what I understand, in Islam, you believe that everybody is born a Muslim.
00:08:23.280 Yes, the fitra.
00:08:24.340 Yeah.
00:08:24.580 So, we have this belief that you have the fitra, the inclination to the belief in one God.
00:08:31.640 We've purchased this huge 2,700 square meters building with this huge 7,500 square meters of land.
00:08:40.680 And insha'Allah ta'ala, with your help, we are going to convert this huge property into the most epic Islamic center in the whole country of Norway. 0.79
