00:03:56.820 No.

00:03:58.820 We wanted to come here and give a little money to people to help out and say that we're

00:04:01.720 sorry that this happened to you.

00:04:17.720 I really appreciate it.

00:04:18.720 Thanks a lot.

00:04:20.720 Thank you.

00:04:25.720 Don't make me cry.

00:04:28.720 Oh, thank you so much.

00:04:30.720 You just changed that.

00:04:32.720 This is good.

00:04:33.720 Thank you.

00:04:35.720 Welcome to East Palestine, Ohio.

00:04:37.720 It's a sweet, patriotic community.

00:04:39.720 5,000 people live here.

00:04:40.720 They have homes here.

00:04:41.720 Their children go to school here.

00:04:42.720 There's playgrounds and businesses and restaurants.

00:04:45.720 And there's also a train track that runs right through the center of town.

00:04:48.720 And on that train track, there was a massive derailment a couple days ago.

00:04:51.720 Chemicals spilled into the air and into the water and into the soil.

00:04:55.720 These people have to live with that now forever.

00:04:57.720 Worse yet, the government came along and then lit it all on fire, sending a black toxic plume of smoke directly into the atmosphere.

00:05:03.720 And then they told everyone to go back into their homes.

00:05:05.720 Everything's safe.

00:05:06.720 But there's been no reassurances.

00:05:07.720 And in order to compensate these people, the railroad responsible has given them five whole dollars.

00:05:13.720 We think that's wrong.

00:05:14.720 And so we're here today.

00:05:15.720 We've identified the 20 homes closest to that toxic burn.

00:05:18.720 And we're going to walk up to those homes and we're going to hand them a thousand bucks.

00:05:21.720 And we're going to say, we're sorry this happened to you.

00:05:22.720 We don't need the government to come in and save us or help us out.

00:05:25.720 We, the American people, can help each other out.

00:05:26.720 That's the way it's supposed to be.

00:05:28.720 Let's go do that.

00:05:32.720 As soon as we arrived in East Palestine, we drove to these five houses.

00:05:35.720 These homes are the absolute closest in town to the toxic explosion.

00:05:39.720 So close, in fact, you can see the train car wreckage from their backyards.

00:05:43.720 We thought this would be a good place to start.

00:05:45.720 We're going to walk up and hand them an envelope.

00:05:48.720 Inside of that envelope is going to be a thousand bucks cash.

00:05:51.720 And hopefully this money will go towards clean food, water, whatever they need right now.

00:05:56.720 But nobody's helping these people.

00:05:58.720 So we're going to help.

00:06:00.720 We're going to help.

00:06:01.720 And we have 20.

00:06:03.720 We have 20 of these to give out.

00:06:04.720 If you're interested in where we got this money, please stay tuned to the end of the video.

00:06:08.720 We'll tell you where every single dollar came from.

00:06:11.720 As soon as we were done filming this scene, a man named Smiley walked up to our car to talk with us,

00:06:16.720 tell us his story, and show us the train wreckage in his backyard.

00:06:20.720 So this is your house right here?

00:06:22.720 Yeah.

00:06:23.720 So no one's shown up to help?

00:06:24.720 No, I haven't talked to anyone from the railroad.

00:06:26.720 You know, they're all hiding.

00:06:27.720 You've helped out other people before.

00:06:29.720 Yeah.

00:06:30.720 Yourself?

00:06:31.720 Yeah.

00:06:32.720 I give them food.

00:06:33.720 I give them food.

00:06:34.720 They need something.

00:06:35.720 If I have the ability to give it to them, I do.

00:06:37.720 We wanted to help you out today.

00:06:38.720 Oh, thank you.

00:06:39.720 Inside of that envelope is a thousand bucks.

00:06:42.720 And we hope that it can go to-

00:06:45.720 Oh, this will help out a lot.

00:06:46.720 God bless you, sir.

00:06:47.720 Oh, thank you.

00:06:48.720 All right.

00:06:51.720 Yeah, I'm just trying to move my things in.

00:06:53.720 I don't want to be bothered.

00:06:54.720 Okay.

00:06:55.720 Well, I don't need to interview you.

00:06:57.720 I need to hand you this.

00:07:01.720 Inside of that is a thousand dollars cap.

00:07:03.720 It's from people all around the country who care about people affected by this.

00:07:08.720 Well, I'll just tell you right now, I appreciate you.

00:07:11.720 It definitely helps, man.

00:07:12.720 You just paid for my rent for my first month.

00:07:14.720 So, I appreciate you guys.

00:07:15.720 Well, there you go.

00:07:16.720 I'm out of here and I'm going to be in a lot better shape after this.

00:07:18.720 Well, good.

00:07:19.720 All right.

00:07:20.720 Bye, man.

00:07:21.720 Yeah, have a great day.

00:07:22.720 How has this been affecting you?

00:07:23.720 Oh, God.

00:07:24.720 My whole life's turned upside down.

00:07:25.720 Spent $148 on cleaning supplies.

00:07:27.720 But I'm more concerned about the elderly in the area.

00:07:30.720 Disabled, they can't clean their house top to bottom. 1.00

00:07:33.720 We're here to help.

00:07:34.720 We've brought this for you.

00:07:37.720 So, that'll pay for your cleaning supplies. 0.99

00:07:39.720 Thank you.

00:07:40.720 Don't make me cry.

00:07:43.720 For real.

00:07:45.720 No catches?

00:07:46.720 We don't want anything.

00:07:47.720 We just want to say.

00:07:48.720 I really appreciate it.

00:11:08.720 So where did we get this money?

00:11:09.720 Who paid for this?

00:11:10.720 Well, you did, actually.

00:11:11.720 By watching our videos, we get monetization, and we got about $20,000 last month from that.

00:11:17.720 And so we decided to spend it here and take the money that we get from you watching our program and give it to these people.

00:11:23.720 So if you like these videos, keep watching, keep sharing.

00:11:25.720 Share this video so we can inspire more people to do good.

00:11:28.720 From East Palestine, Ohio, my name is Benny Johnson.

00:11:30.720 See ya.

00:11:31.720 See ya.

00:11:32.720 It's Wednesday, 22 February in the year of our Lord, 2023.

00:11:38.720 It's Ash Wednesday, the first day of Lent, and there's not a better way to start this Lent season off, the 40 days of Lent, than the tale of two cities.

00:11:46.720 The Ukraine in Kiev, Warsaw, Poland, all of it, versus East Palestine, Ohio. 0.54

00:11:53.720 Benny Johnson joins us live now.

00:11:55.720 Benny, how did you get that?

00:11:57.720 How did you get the idea?

00:11:58.720 It's the most moving piece of reporting I've seen coming out of East Palestine.

00:12:02.720 How did you get the idea?

00:12:03.720 Thank you, Steve, and good morning.

00:12:06.720 I fundamentally believe that this country is facing a battle of darkness and light, good and evil.

00:12:12.720 I also know that Christians are more powerful than we could possibly know.

00:12:17.720 We have the creator of the universe on our side, and he asks us to be a light in dark places.

00:12:22.720 And there's few places darker right now than East Palestine, Ohio.

00:12:26.720 You know, those people were already hanging on by a thread, and then the government came in and nuked their town with chemicals, and so they needed help.

00:12:32.720 And so we just followed the teachings of our Lord Jesus Christ.

00:12:37.720 We are simple Christians, and we just went and gave what we could.

00:12:41.720 That was what we could give.

00:12:42.720 That was our monetization for last month on social media.

00:12:45.720 We didn't need to ask the government's permission.

00:12:48.720 We didn't need to ask Joe Biden to go in there and do something good for our fellow Americans.

00:12:52.720 We just went and we delivered action for them.

00:12:57.720 Just action.

00:12:58.720 Just got up and moved.

00:13:00.720 Enough complaining.

00:13:01.720 Enough talking in our little boxes.

00:13:03.720 Just get up and do something nice for people and bring some light into the world.

00:13:07.720 That's what we're called to do as Christians, and we're stronger than we think we are.

00:13:12.720 Benny, we've got about a minute.

00:13:14.720 I want to hold you through the break.

00:13:15.720 I know you're busy, but I've got to hold you.

00:13:17.720 But the question I want before we go to break.

00:13:18.720 Great.

00:13:19.720 You've done so much reporting on the callousness of the government in Norfolk, southern the corporate in the government interest.

00:13:27.720 Has that rubbed off on the people?

00:13:29.720 Are they been hardened because of this?

00:13:31.720 Are they still the same good folks, the hobbits of East Palestine, sir? 1.00

00:13:36.720 I'll tell you this.

00:13:37.720 I live in Tampa, Florida.

00:13:39.720 If there was a tragedy in Tampa, Florida, these people in East Palestine would be the first ones to be delivering what they could. 0.98

00:13:47.720 They would give us the shirt off their back if they could. 0.96

00:13:50.720 They are the salt and the earth of this country, and that earth has now been poisoned by an evil corporation and the government that has been bought off by that corporation.

00:13:59.720 And so it is truly up to us, the American people, to fix that for them.

00:14:03.720 And that's what drove us to go there, and that's what drove us to go and do good because they would do good for us.

00:14:09.720 And that's actually how you build a country.

00:14:11.720 That's how you keep a country is you have Americans helping other Americans.

00:14:16.720 And again, we don't need the government's permission to do that.

00:14:20.720 Okay.

00:14:21.720 Benny, if you can just hang on for one second and take a short commercial break.

00:14:24.720 I want everybody, including Captain Ben and Grace Chung, to share this.

00:14:28.720 I want Benny's video to go everywhere, and you guys not just share it but also join it.

00:14:33.720 He talked about monetization.

00:14:35.720 Short break.

00:14:36.720 Benny Johnson, Ben Burquam, Steve Cortez, all next in The War Room.

00:14:41.720 Everything's begun, and you are over.

00:14:45.720 Because we're taking down the CCP.

00:14:49.720 Spread the word all through Hong Kong.

00:14:51.720 We will fight till they're all gone.

00:14:54.720 We rejoice when there's no more. 0.95

00:14:56.720 Let's take down the CCP.

00:14:58.720 Despite the U.S. blowing through $31.4 trillion debt ceiling in January, the leftist White House still refuses to reduce spending.

00:15:07.720 While our national leadership has buried their heads in the sand, when it comes to fiscal responsibility, it's time to pull yours out.

00:15:15.720 Think about this.

00:15:17.720 To dig our country out of this mountain of debt, every single taxpayer in America would have to write a check for $247,000, and it's only going to get worse.

00:15:28.720 Now would be a great time to diversify into gold with Birch Gold.

00:16:24.720 Here's your host, Stephen K. Bannon.

00:16:29.720 Welcome back.

00:16:30.720 We begin the 40 Days of Lent today.

00:16:32.720 We're going to have a special at 6 o'clock tonight.

00:16:35.720 We're going to talk a lot about Lent, a lot about this nation, where we're headed, Ash Wednesday, all of it.

00:16:39.720 Benny Johnson joins us, having gone to East Palestine.

00:16:42.720 Ohio made this incredibly moving video about the citizens there.

00:16:47.720 Benny, what is your recommendation of what needs to happen?

00:16:52.720 You've been there on the ground.

00:16:54.720 You've talked to people.

00:16:55.720 You've done amazing reporting on what's happening overall between DeWine and Shapiro and the EPA and Norfolk Southern.

00:17:02.720 Having been there on the ground, what is your recommendation of how we go forward on this?

00:17:06.720 Yeah, you have to speak truth to power.

00:17:08.720 You have to humanize these people and tell their story.

00:17:10.720 They are the forgotten man and woman in America.

00:17:12.720 And so let me tell you really quickly what a couple of hours on the ground meant for me and my team.

00:17:18.720 We were coughing and wheezing.

00:17:20.720 We had chemical burns on our faces, Steve.

00:17:22.720 We had a pepper spray style reaction to breathing the air there.

00:17:29.720 Our mouth, ears, nose and throat were all on fire.

00:17:33.720 Those people have to live there.

00:17:34.720 We've all seen the water supply.

00:17:36.720 Those people have to live and shower in that water. 1.00

00:17:39.720 How else are you going to take a shower?

00:17:40.720 How else are you going to take a bath?

00:17:41.720 Where are you going to bathe your children? 1.00

00:17:43.720 How are you going to make baby formula?

00:17:44.720 They have to live there and they need proper testing.

00:17:48.720 They need people to come in and actually tell them whether it's safe.

00:17:51.720 I can tell you I'm not the only journalist who had the same response when I went there.

00:17:57.720 The Fox News journalists, the Newsmax journalists, they were all getting sick.

00:18:01.720 And so people are having to live there, children, with train wreckage behind their homes.

00:18:07.720 The little woman in the video with the small child.

00:18:09.720 That train wreckage is right behind their house.

00:18:11.720 So they need proper testing and then they need relocation if it is truly uninhabitable.

00:18:16.720 And the question I suppose I have most predominantly is why does it fall to us?

00:18:22.720 Where's Greenpeace?

00:18:24.720 Where's the federal government?

00:18:27.720 Where's FEMA?

00:18:28.720 Where's the Red Cross?

00:18:29.720 Why am I having to ask for PETA of all things?

00:18:31.720 Why am I a conservative begging PETA and Greta Thunberg and Greenpeace to come to this place

00:18:36.720 to observe the largest man-made disaster ecologically in American history?

00:18:42.720 Well, they're too busy on private jets going to Davos to give speeches and throwing paint on Monet's at museums in London

00:18:51.720 to actually go and see these forgotten men and women.

00:18:54.720 So I guess it falls to us to tell their story, which is what you and I do every single day.

00:18:58.720 And then to speak truth to power and hope that the powerful act.

00:19:03.720 And praise the Lord, Donald Trump, a real president, is finally visiting East Palestine, Ohio today.

00:19:10.720 What would be your recommendation for President Trump, the best use of his time since you've been there, the best use of his time?

00:19:19.720 We know he's been a forcing function.

00:19:21.720 You know, Mayor Pete's showing up this afternoon.

00:19:23.720 He's had, you know, the big press.

00:19:25.720 He forced Shapiro, DeWine, EPA director, to stop the trip to Africa to do the boondoggle on climate change

00:19:32.720 and come back yesterday to try to get ahead of him.

00:19:34.720 But what would Benny Johnson, what would be your recommendation for President Trump, the best use of his time today in East Palestine, Ohio?

00:19:41.720 Of course, Steve, you know Trump far better than me or almost anyone on the planet.

00:19:45.720 However, in the small hours that I've gotten to spend with Donald Trump privately,

00:19:50.720 I watched him behind the scenes in a kitchen environment at one of his hotels before a speech.

00:19:56.720 And that man went to the person for the service staff in the kitchen and asked them their stories, spoke with them.

00:20:05.720 Half these people were from Guatemala.

00:20:07.720 And so they spoke very broken English, but Trump connected with them, hugged some of them, spoke with them about their children.

00:20:13.720 That is a superpower for our president.

00:20:16.720 And so Donald Trump should use that superpower today to connect with the people of East Palestine.

00:20:21.720 What they need is a hug, most importantly, from someone powerful.

00:20:25.720 What they need is somebody to know that they're not lost in the darkness, that there is a light out there,

00:20:30.720 because it is a very, very dark place right now, East Palestine.

00:20:33.720 And again, they were hanging on by a thread, thanks to globalism and thanks to the central planners moving out all of the industry from that area of the country.

00:20:42.720 That used to be a deeply prosperous area of the country.

00:20:44.720 Now it's hanging on by a thread.

00:20:45.720 And then they nuked their town with chemicals.

00:20:47.720 And so they need someone powerful to say that they care, to embrace them and to do what Donald Trump does best,

00:20:54.720 which is to bring humanity to the forgotten man and woman in this country.

00:20:59.720 Benny, I couldn't think of a better way to kick off the 40 days of Lent Ash Wednesday with your witness and testimony from East Palestine.

00:21:07.720 How do people get to you?

00:21:08.720 How do they continue to get the videos you put up and all your work?

00:21:11.720 Thank you, Steve.

00:21:13.720 If I may, for just a moment, if you missed the video, the way we were able to give the $20,000 to the people, which was our revenue for January when this crash happened,

00:21:24.720 the way we were able to do that is because people watch our show.

00:21:28.720 And so you can find us at Benny Johnson at all social media.

00:21:31.720 You can download our podcast, The Benny Show.

00:21:34.720 And what that does is it, even if you don't have $5 to give to these people of East Palestine, I know your heart breaks for them.

00:21:41.720 So by watching our programming and by watching our show, we get monetization from that.

00:21:45.720 And then we can give on your behalf.

00:21:48.720 And so we deeply appreciate a download or a follow so that we can continue to share God's light and Christ's light in the world.

00:21:55.720 Benny Johnson, honored to have you on here.

00:21:59.720 Couldn't kick off the show any better.

00:22:00.720 Thank you, sir.

00:22:01.720 Thank you, Steve.

00:22:04.720 It's a tale of two cities.

00:22:05.720 I'm going to play.

00:22:06.720 Ben Berquam is on the ground.

00:22:07.720 We're going to play a cold open for Ben and then go directly to Ben Berquam in East Palestine, Ohio.

00:22:12.720 An agency has ordered Norfolk Southern to clean up the toxic chemicals spilled when one of the company's trains derailed nearly three weeks ago now along the Ohio, Pennsylvania border.

00:22:22.720 The order requires the rail operator to identify and clean any contaminated soil and water, pay all EPA costs and to participate in public meetings at the agency's request.

00:22:33.720 If the company fails to do any of these, the EPA says it will take over and charge Norfolk Southern triple the cost.

00:22:41.720 In no way, shape or form will Norfolk Southern get off the hook for the mess that they created.

00:22:50.720 Folks, I know this order cannot undo the nightmare that families in this town have been living with, but it will begin to deliver much needed justice for the pain that Norfolk Southern has caused.

00:23:03.720 Action also being taken at the state level.

00:23:06.720 Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro says his office now has made a criminal referral to the acting attorney general there.

00:23:12.720 Ohio Governor Mike DeWine signaled yesterday his office also is preparing to take legal action.

00:23:18.720 The Biden administration has been criticized for what some say has been a slow response to the derailment.

00:23:24.720 Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg was asked yesterday if he should have spoken out sooner.

00:23:29.720 I was focused on just making sure that our folks on the ground were all set, but could have spoken sooner about how strongly I felt about this incident.

00:23:39.720 And that's a lesson learned for me.

00:23:41.720 President Biden also posted a long Twitter thread defending the actions of the White House and criticizing rail companies for, quote, resisting safety regulations.

00:23:50.720 The president also blamed the previous administration for, quote, limiting our ability to implement and strengthen rail safety measures.

00:23:57.720 Speaking of the previous administration, John, former President Donald Trump says he's going to be there in East Palestine, Ohio today.

00:24:04.720 Yeah, we don't know what his agenda will be or when he is supposed to arrive, but he said he'll be there today.

00:24:09.720 And we should note that his administration rolled back some of the safety regulations that may have played a role here in this crash.

00:24:15.720 Certainly now there is a lot of scrutiny. This is all this is all this is all license.

00:24:20.720 This is all lies and spin. And we now know from a White House readout that Biden's been on the phone nonstop.

00:24:25.720 They made Michael Regan go yesterday. DeWine finally after the war room hammers him.

00:24:29.720 You got DeWine looking at legal action. The legal action ought to be against you, DeWine.

00:24:33.720 OK, and you Shapiro and you Mike Regan. OK, and the company, obviously the company, but the company did not have you only set up a unified command yesterday against federal regulations.

00:24:43.720 You're three weeks late. Ben Burkwam, you're there on the scene, sir. Put us in the room.

00:24:49.720 Well, I got you can see behind me, Steven. It's there's some freezing rain coming down right now.

00:24:56.720 But behind me, you've got the construction crews. All of this is the broken down, exploded train.

00:25:02.720 Some of the the remnants of what's left. It's an absolute disaster over to my left.

00:25:06.720 You've got the the heavy equipment over here picking up train cars, picking up the wheels of the train and loading them into dumpsters.

00:25:15.720 But I'm standing in mud and talking to the people on the ground here.

00:25:19.720 They feel just like Benny mentioned. They feel like they've been abandoned.

00:25:23.720 And they were coming up to us just saying thank you for coming and telling the story.

00:25:27.720 You know, we've we've just been waiting here.

00:25:29.720 So one of the women women that I talked to said she was told to just stay in her house. 1.00

00:25:32.720 So the evacuation zone was just a mile wide.

00:25:35.720 And then everybody else where the plume of this cloud of toxic gas went above their house was told to just stay in their house.

00:25:41.720 She said she's had a sore throat and had headaches ever since.

00:25:44.720 And we're hearing that over and over. I actually got I don't know if this is placebo, but we came down here last night.

00:25:49.720 And this morning I woke up with a sore throat and stuffy nose.

00:25:52.720 I don't know if it's connected or not, but I got to tell you, the fear on the ground here is palpable.

00:25:57.720 The people, they don't trust the federal government and not just here.

00:26:01.720 What you see going on right now, you've got the rain coming down here.

00:26:04.720 We had this toxic gas that came from here, went northeast across Pennsylvania, up into Canada, across the eastern states.

00:26:11.720 And all of that landed on the ground.

00:26:13.720 And what's happening now is as this rain falls, it all gets washed down into the tributaries and the rivers.

00:26:19.720 I was talking to a guy last night named Wes, and he said these rivers flow right into the Ohio River, goes right down through Cincinnati.

00:26:25.720 I have family just outside of Cincinnati. I was with them yesterday.

00:26:29.720 And they said the grocery stores are running out of fresh water there because the people don't trust the water that's coming down the Ohio River.

00:26:35.720 It's just it's an it's a disaster on on an epic proportion.

00:26:39.720 And to have Joe Biden and Pete Buttigieg blame President Trump.

00:26:44.720 It's I mean, it's it's shocking. It's absolutely shocking.

00:26:48.720 It's not surprising, sadly, but it's just like being here.

00:26:51.720 It's absolutely shocking.

00:26:53.720 And the people here, the people of East Palestine deserve better and the American people deserve better.

00:26:58.720 By the way, Nick Sorter has just reported, just tweeted out how people are so excited to see President Trump.

00:27:05.720 Ben, real quickly, what would be your recommendation to President Trump when he comes, he gets wheels down there and gets to East Palestine sometime this afternoon?

00:27:13.720 What's your recommendation?

00:27:14.720 Use every bit of leverage that he has to help the people here.

00:27:20.720 They are desperate. And really, as Benny said, they just want to know that they're heard.

00:27:25.720 The people here feel like they've been abandoned.

00:27:27.720 Blue collar workers, you know, a lot of steel industry here.

00:27:30.720 These are people that that are just hard workers, love their country, love God, love their families.

00:27:35.720 And they just want to feel like they're not being abandoned. And as up to this point, they've been abandoned.

00:27:40.720 And that's really it. It's just I'll say it.

00:27:42.720 Wes said it best. I said, what do you make of and Wes was a guy interviewed last night talking about all of this stuff flowing down into the into the Ohio River.

00:27:50.720 I said, what do you make of President Trump coming here before Joe Biden or our Pete Buttigieg or any of them?

00:27:56.720 And he said, President Trump's a man of the people. And that's really what it comes down to.

00:28:01.720 Ben, just hang on for one second. Our stand is starting to rain there. Just hang on one second.

00:28:05.720 We'll take a short break. We're going to go back to East Palestine, Ohio.

00:28:08.720 Ben Burke on Real America's Voice, the best lead investigative reporter is there on the scene.

00:28:13.720 Cortez is with me. Ben Harnwell's with me. We're going to go.

00:28:17.720 We've got Michael Patrick Lea, Jeff Clark, all of it. Wall to wall today.

00:29:22.720 Here's your host, Stephen K. Band.

00:29:29.720 Okay. Ben Burquam is in East Palestine, Ohio.

00:29:32.720 Ben, order a battle today with President Trump.

00:29:35.720 We know he, and by the way, it's a tough logistics.

00:29:37.720 He's got a flying, I think, outside of Youngstown.

00:29:39.720 There's like an hour trip in.

00:29:42.720 Give us your best estimate of what's going to happen and what's your reporting going to, where are you going to be?

00:29:50.720 Well, I've heard a few different things.

00:29:52.720 They've been keeping it pretty close to their chest on what they're actually going to be doing,

00:29:56.720 but I understand he's going to be getting in here a little bit after noon

00:29:59.720 and going to be making several stops to first responders, fire department, some locals.

00:30:04.720 There's a local park here where he's expected to go.

00:30:07.720 Again, it's been raining, freezing rain all morning, so they may shift that somewhere else.

00:30:11.720 And I know he's going to go to several local businesses that have been affected by this.

00:30:15.720 Just real quick to the question you asked too, Steve.

00:30:18.720 All you have to do is come down here.

00:30:20.720 If the Democrats, if the left want to know what's happening and how people have been affected.

00:30:24.720 I was down in a coffee shop.

00:30:25.720 We just had the morning show at the Roadhouse, and you just sit there and listen to people.

00:30:29.720 There's a guy I was talking to this morning, lives 40 miles from here.

00:30:32.720 He said all of the fish in his pond died, floated to the surface.

00:30:36.720 I mean, 40 miles from here because the creek runs down

00:30:39.720 and because that plume of toxic gas went over his property.

00:30:44.720 It's just absolutely a disaster.

00:30:46.720 So President Trump's going to be here.

00:30:47.720 He's going to be talking to the people.

00:30:48.720 As far as the specific times, we don't have that yet,

00:30:51.720 but we will be here on the ground.

00:30:53.720 Ed Henry, Karen Turk are here as well.

00:30:54.720 They're doing their morning show again tomorrow.

00:30:56.720 And then I've got a jet.

00:30:57.720 I'm going to be heading back down to the border for a little while,

00:30:59.720 but I'll be back here on Friday as well.

00:31:00.720 So we're going to continue to tell the stories that the mainstream media clearly don't want told,

00:31:05.720 but that's why we're here and why we exist.

00:31:09.720 Fantastic, Ben.

00:31:10.720 And how do people track your reporting throughout the day?

00:31:13.720 How do they get to you?

00:31:15.720 At Ben Berquam, the last name is B-E-R-G-Q-U-A-M. 1.00

00:31:19.720 I'm banned on Twitter right now.

00:31:21.720 So you can find me on Getter, on Truth, on CloudHub, on the rest of it,

00:31:25.720 and then on americasvoice.news and frontlineamerica.com for all the stories.

00:31:31.720 Don't give me any happy talk about Elon Musk and Twitter.

00:31:38.720 All the key elements of the anti-CCP movement have not, no, they haven't let any,

00:31:43.720 he hasn't let any, he hasn't let any of the anti-CCP guys on, the hardcores,

00:31:47.720 the ones who are trying to take down the CCP with Lao Bajing.

00:31:50.720 I've been banned more since he took over than I had before.

00:31:54.720 So I don't know if it's the algorithms or the people in charge of it.

00:31:57.720 All I know is, you know, it's gotten worse for me.

00:32:02.720 So that's why I'm on Getter, on Truth, on CloudHub.

00:32:06.720 That's why I'm so proud of Getter.

00:32:08.720 You go to Getter, you're going to get the real truth.

00:32:10.720 Berquam, the reason you're banned more now than ever, you are on fire.

00:32:14.720 You're in the zone on reporting right now.

00:32:16.720 You're at every hot spot.

00:32:17.720 You're doing the best work of anybody.

00:32:19.720 So fantastic.

00:32:20.720 Thank you, sir.

00:32:21.720 Ben, we'll get back to you in the afternoon.

00:32:22.720 Thank you, sir.

00:32:23.720 See you, sir.

00:32:24.720 Cortez, you talk about a tale of two cities in the beginning of the third, the early days of the Third World War.

00:32:30.720 Here you see the personification of the forgotten man and woman.

00:32:34.720 And here's the hypocrisy of the corporatist and the administrative state.

00:32:39.720 All of them kick these guys to the curb and just forgot about it until all of a sudden Trump goes, hey, I'm going to East Palestine.

00:32:45.720 The next thing you know, they're at the ramparts.

00:32:47.720 You know, DeWine's down there.

00:32:49.720 Josh Shapiro's down there.

00:32:50.720 They're filing, you know, sending criminal complaints.

00:32:53.720 And this EPA, I want to make sure everybody understands. 0.90

00:32:55.720 This guy is such a phony. 0.83

00:32:57.720 He's got to be brought up in front of the house. 0.89

00:32:59.720 This is another guy who got a role in impeachment.

00:33:01.720 Michael Regan left, was going to Africa on a seven day boondoggle with a bunch of Hollywood celebutards.

00:33:07.720 Right.

00:33:08.720 They're going to going out there in some boondoggle on climate change, on the cult religion of climate change.

00:33:14.720 Forgot about these people until Trump announced he was coming.

00:33:17.720 And now he's sitting out there.

00:33:18.720 Oh, wait.

00:33:19.720 They just announced yesterday.

00:33:20.720 We did a unified command.

00:33:21.720 Dude, you're supposed to do a unified command by federal regulation.

00:33:23.720 The moment the Norfolk Southern at 1123 at night, 2323 or 2353 on that Friday night, they notified you by federal regulation.

00:33:33.720 It's supposed to kick in with a unified command.

00:33:35.720 You didn't do your job.

00:33:37.720 You should be turfed out immediately.

00:33:39.720 Cortez, your give me your assessment of this is this is the personification, the manifestation of the forgotten man and woman.

00:33:47.720 Steve Cortez.

00:33:48.720 It certainly is.

00:33:49.720 And by the way, it's not just the right thing to do for President Trump to travel there.

00:33:54.720 It's also very politically savvy.

00:33:56.720 And President Trump, in many ways, owes his 2016 triumph to just to the people just like those good citizens of East Palestine, Ohio.

00:34:05.720 And, you know, Benny Johnson mentioned, you know, look at the indignities,

00:34:09.720 at the suffering that has been inflicted by the ruling class upon these people, even before the tragedy of the train wreck.

00:34:16.720 Right. What globalism has done to towns like that in eastern Ohio, in western Pennsylvania.

00:34:22.720 Think of the constant interventions and needless wars all over the world.

00:34:26.720 The sons and daughters of places like East Palestine are the people who went and bled and died in those needless wars, which were perpetrated by the ruling class. 0.97

00:34:34.720 By the way, speaking of President Trump, there's a fantastic paper done by a couple of academics who are not Trump people at all.

00:34:40.720 One of them is Professor Shen, who is a law professor at University of Minnesota.

00:34:44.720 And they give a great statistical analysis attributing the 2016 triumph, which you largely engineered, Steve,

00:34:51.720 attributing it to areas of the country like East Ohio that had extremely high war casualty rates.

00:34:58.720 Those places flipped from being Democrat Obama voters to Trump voters, largely because of his America first foreign policy promises of realism and restraint,

00:35:08.720 promises that he then followed up on as president.

00:35:11.720 We see the exact opposite right now as Joe Biden.

00:35:14.720 And you're exactly correct to present this stark contrast between the tale of two cities, East Palestine, Ohio versus Kiev.

00:35:21.720 Where is the focus? Where is the fixation? I would say not just a focus.

00:35:25.720 Where is the fixation of the ruling class of America right now, whether it's giant corporations or the corporate media or Joe Biden himself?

00:35:33.720 Their fixation is on Kiev, is on a regional Slavic struggle five thousand miles away from America,

00:35:40.720 a battle that has gone on for time immemorial and will probably go on until the end of time.

00:35:46.720 That thankfully involves no discernible, definable U.S. national interest.

00:35:50.720 And yet that is the fixation of the ruling class instead of places like East Palestine, Ohio, which right now is suffering.

00:35:59.720 And by the way, too, let's not let the politicians and the political leaders absolutely deserve all of our derision regarding their their abdication of leadership here.

00:36:09.720 But let's not let Norfolk Southern off the hook. And it's CEO Alan Shaw.

00:36:14.720 Let's remember that he offered one thousand dollars. Think about how paltry this is.

00:36:19.720 He offered one thousand dollars per resident.

00:36:22.720 You saw Benny Johnson go and give that much in an envelope in cash.

00:36:25.720 OK, just an independent broadcaster offered as much as the CEO of a 50 billion dollar corporation.

00:36:33.720 That is the market cap of Norfolk Southern. Alan Shaw made over four million dollars last year.

00:36:38.720 He lives in a four million dollar mansion right now.

00:36:42.720 And instead of relocating temporarily, he should be on the ground constantly in East Palestine. 0.62

00:36:47.720 So should Buttigieg. So should EPA Regan.

00:36:50.720 So should Governor DeWine. Instead of relocating there, instead of drinking the water,

00:36:54.720 if they tell us it's safe and doing so on camera out of the tap.

00:36:58.720 Where is he? He's aloof. He's disconnected.

00:37:01.720 And again, he is representative of the larger corporate class, the ruling class in this country, whether it's politics or media or big business.

00:37:10.720 They don't care about the deplorables in places like East Palestine. 0.93

00:37:14.720 And this this unfortunate tragedy is revealing that for the country.

00:37:18.720 I sent you the readout from the White House that showed that they actually put out that Biden was not.

00:37:25.720 I think it's five phone calls from Warsaw, five phone calls about this to EPA, to other people in the administration, to Josh Shapiro.

00:37:33.720 They're in panic mode when he's in Warsaw.

00:37:36.720 They're given this bizarre speech.

00:37:38.720 It's kind of in Cortez essentially.

00:37:40.720 He he's kind of become messianic.

00:37:42.720 I mean, there's something very weird of what's going on.

00:37:45.720 Right. This is like another.

00:37:46.720 The Warsaw speech was like another version of the one in front of Independence Hall.

00:37:50.720 This guy.

00:37:51.720 There's something deeply wrong with what's going on that doesn't match the facts on the ground or really the the facts of what the starting days of the Third World War.

00:38:00.720 When the Chinese are there. 1.00

00:38:02.720 Well, walk us through that.

00:38:03.720 He's he's calling.

00:38:04.720 By the way, you notice he didn't call Pete Buttigieg.

00:38:06.720 That's a big buried lead.

00:38:08.720 Didn't call Buttigieg.

00:38:09.720 Called all these other people.

00:38:10.720 Get them back there.

00:38:11.720 Get them out there.

00:38:12.720 And then he gives this messianic speech that I'm going to end world empires.

00:38:16.720 I mean, what is he talking about?

00:38:18.720 Yeah.

00:38:19.720 By the way, first, before we get to Biden, just quickly on Buttigieg, we realize here that, you know, this is the travesty of hiring for quotas.

00:38:27.720 Right.

00:38:28.720 Of diversity hires.

00:38:29.720 And let's face it.

00:38:30.720 He was hired for one reason only because he's gay and he's very upfront about it. 0.98

00:38:34.720 And he and he loves to talk about it constantly because he is an immature, arrogant McKinsey consultant with no significant experience in the transportation sector at all. 0.97

00:38:44.720 The mayor of a pretty small town with a pretty bad track record as mayor.

00:38:49.720 The mayor was brought into the Biden cabinet and is totally unprepared in every way to manage several crises, plural, but including this most recent crisis.

00:39:00.720 I think Biden, you know, he put out a tweet and you're exactly right.

00:39:03.720 There's something almost eerie about it.

00:39:05.720 And you're right, too, that it's messianic in a sense.

00:39:09.720 This is what he said in his tweet.

00:39:10.720 The people's love for liberty said nothing will ever be able to erase the people's love for liberty.

00:39:16.720 What people is he talking about?

00:39:18.720 OK, is he talking about the people of Ukraine?

00:39:20.720 Because, by the way, if he is, Zelensky is hardly a harbinger of liberty.

00:39:26.720 OK, Zelensky is a man who has literally outlawed a Christian church in his country, a man who has nationalized the media, who has outlawed opposition parties in Ukraine.

00:39:38.720 He is an incredibly corrupt man who is supported by oligarchs. 0.97

00:39:41.720 Putin is every bit as corrupt, if not more so. 0.97

00:39:44.720 My point is there's no good guy in this fight. 0.60

00:39:47.720 And thankfully, there's no American interest in this fight.

00:39:50.720 And yet we get these ridiculous platitudes, the people's love for liberty.

00:39:55.720 Look, Joe Biden is reckless and he is absolutely playing with fire right now.

00:40:01.720 And he is risking sending the United States into World War Three over a regional struggle in the Baltic that has nothing to do with the United States.

00:40:12.720 So realize what is happening right now.

00:40:14.720 Realize the gravity of this situation, what the Davos set wants, what the Washington war machine wants, what the defense contractors want right now.

00:40:23.720 And I think also realize we are at the most dangerous moment right now.

00:40:27.720 We are at a national security precipice that is as dangerous as any time since the Cuban Missile Crisis.

00:40:33.720 That is my my my dispassionate analysis of the current situation.

00:40:38.720 Now, in the Cuban Missile Crisis, we had nuclear missiles 90 miles away from the United States.

00:40:43.720 OK, that was a crisis that we could not avoid and that we had to confront.

00:40:48.720 This is a crisis that we are creating, fomenting, financing with money that we don't have, with money that we're borrowing and escalating.

00:40:56.720 This is a totally avoidable crisis for the United States.

00:41:01.720 And yet, Joe Biden, you're exactly correct.

00:41:04.720 And perhaps it's a massive diversion because he realizes what is going on at home, particularly economically, as the situation deteriorates rapidly here on the economy for Americans.

00:41:14.720 He's trying to create a massive wag the dog moment.

00:41:17.720 But Steve, he is absolutely playing with fire and the American people could pay dire consequences for it.

00:41:24.720 Let's let's pay. 1.00

00:41:26.720 We got a couple of minutes, Steve.

00:41:27.720 We're holding into another segment.

00:41:28.720 But give us the wag the dog.

00:41:31.720 What is he trying to divert attention away from the reality of life in the in the country and particularly for folks, the types of people from East Palestine, Ohio?

00:41:40.720 Yeah.

00:41:41.720 And by the way, yeah, let's let's talk about that, because yesterday on the show we talked about credit card debt, which has reached one trillion dollars, almost nine hundred eighty six billion dollars, one trillion dollars in credit card debt right now in the United States.

00:41:54.720 That is by far the highest of all time and not just the highest in dollar terms, but also the biggest year over year leap of all times.

00:42:02.720 That one trillion dollars of credit card debt is at an interest rate now on average of over 20 percent because of Biden's inflation, the highest interest rate of all time.

00:42:11.720 So Americans are struggling and are unfortunately reaching for risky credit card debt just to pay for the for the staples of life, not for luxuries.

00:42:21.720 Just yesterday, by the way, speaking of retailers of consumer facing companies, just yesterday, Home Depot stock fell seven percent at the higher end of the scale.

00:42:30.720 Nordstrom stock stock fell eight percent.

00:42:33.720 So on a day when Home Depot falls seven percent and Nordstrom falls eight percent, instead of worrying about the U.S. economy, Biden is in Europe trying to stoke an escalation and a global war, a global conflagration.

00:42:46.720 You know, think of that contrast. And by the way, this credit card problem is not just a problem for individuals.

00:42:52.720 It's also a problem for the federal government.

00:42:55.720 You know, if it's possible, if we can pull up chart number one, I'd like to show what is going on.

00:42:59.720 I tell you, Steve, Steve, Steve, Steve, hang on one second.

00:43:02.720 We're going to get to the government's credit card in a second.

00:43:05.720 We're taking a short break.

00:43:06.720 Steve Cortez is going to walk us through from the details of the consumer to now the federal government and how that's all going to roll back downhill in a moment in the world.

00:43:21.720 In Joe Biden's America, criminals are exalted and the police are condemned.

00:43:27.720 Sad to say, but you need to be prepared and properly trained to defend yourself and to defend your family.

00:46:17.720 Steve Cortez from the from the from the particular about a trillion dollars of credit card debt.

00:46:24.720 And it's going up to 20 percent because of what you're about to tell us about the Federal Reserve's balance sheet.

00:46:30.720 This all rolls downhill and where it rolls down to is everybody in this audience and down to East Palestine, Ohio.

00:46:37.720 OK, you're on the receiving end of all this, sir.

00:46:39.720 Walk us through it.

00:46:40.720 Exactly.

00:46:41.720 Exactly.

00:46:42.720 Correct.

00:46:43.720 Ten year Treasury yield, by the way, as we speak here today, three point eight nine percent nearing four percent once again.

00:46:50.720 Why is it rising dramatically?

00:46:51.720 Because inflation is absolutely out of control.

00:46:54.720 Who's at fault for that inflation?

00:46:56.720 Well, there are really two main actors, two main culprits.

00:46:59.720 They are Joe Biden, along with the rest of permanent Washington, which includes a lot of Republicans, unfortunately, on the fiscal side.

00:47:05.720 And then on the monetary side, the Fed, which has finally found religion on inflation.

00:47:09.720 But for years and years, unfortunately, fanned the flames of this current inflationary spiral.

00:47:16.720 To show you what I'm talking about, if we can go to chart number one, please.

00:47:19.720 This shows the Fed's balance sheet.

00:47:21.720 So we've been talking about the unfortunate explosion in credit card debt for regular Americans.

00:47:26.720 Well, the Fed effectively has viewed its balance sheet as an almost limitless credit card.

00:47:32.720 So that is the Fed balance sheet going back five years.

00:47:36.720 As you can see before the lockdowns, relatively tame.

00:47:40.720 And thanks to the policies, the growth, pro-growth policies of Donald Trump, the Fed balance sheet was thankfully starting to slowly go lower.

00:47:47.720 If you look on the left-hand side of that chart, it then absolutely exploded higher with the lockdowns and with the unfortunate election of Joe Biden.

00:47:58.720 Now, in recent months, the Fed has promised, because it finally found religion and promised to fight inflation, in recent months, the balance sheet has been getting reduced.

00:48:07.720 It went from almost $9 trillion to $8.38 trillion, a reduction of almost $600 billion.

00:48:13.720 Now, that sounds like a ton of money, and it is in reality.

00:48:16.720 But the reason I want to show that chart is it is immaterial.

00:48:19.720 It's nothing in the context of the rise.

00:48:23.720 In other words, this recent very slight reduction matters very little compared to the ascent of previous years.

00:48:30.720 And yet, Steve, I think this is critically important.

00:48:32.720 And yet, even this very slight reduction in the Fed balance sheet has brought tumult to global financial markets.

00:48:39.720 You know, I talked yesterday about the intense pain for retailers, particularly Home Depot and Walmart.

00:48:45.720 That kind of pain and that kind of market volatility has resulted from just a very slight decline in the Fed's balance sheet and what is effectively the credit card of the Federal Reserve for America.

00:48:58.720 Now, it's reducing its balance sheet, by the way, though, in a time.

00:49:01.720 It should be doing this in a time of growth.

00:49:03.720 That's the way it should operate.

00:49:04.720 You take the punch bowl away when the party is roaring, not when the party is winding down.

00:49:09.720 But hang on one second.

00:49:11.720 Two things.

00:49:12.720 And Trump never talks about this.

00:49:14.720 Trump did quantitative tightening.

00:49:16.720 He took almost a trillion dollars.

00:49:18.720 He took almost a trillion dollars of liquidity off of the balance sheet of the Federal Reserve.

00:49:23.720 That's unheard of since 2008.

00:49:25.720 Trump did this.

00:49:26.720 Obama didn't do it. 0.99

00:49:28.720 Biden's been insane.

00:49:30.720 Trump took in the first year.

00:49:32.720 He had a three percent growth rate.

00:49:33.720 The great, you know, the golden year of 2019, which the CCP and others focus on.

00:49:39.720 We got to get rid of Trump.

00:49:40.720 Right. 0.66

00:49:41.720 Just randomly, a virus came out of a biological weapons lab in Wuhan. 0.91

00:49:46.720 He took a trillion dollars off.

00:49:48.720 One of the reasons about what they have to do now, Steve Cortez, correct me if I'm wrong, and Mercatus did the analysis.

00:49:55.720 There's they've been they've been playing this game because the interest rate arbitrage of kicking 50 billion or 100 billion dollars in to take care of the deficit.

00:50:03.720 They're sitting on still, I think, a trillion dollar loss over there on the Federal Reserve.

00:50:09.720 Am I approximately right on that?

00:50:12.720 That's exactly correct.

00:50:13.720 No.

00:50:14.720 So the Fed was able to transfer to the Treasury every year significant profits and, you know, the really profits in quotes because the Fed was effectively eating its own tail.

00:50:22.720 In other words, it was buying bonds as it was buying bonds.

00:50:24.720 They were naturally going up in price because it has such massive buying power and they were capturing profits on the way up.

00:50:31.720 Well, now, as it unwinds the balance sheet on the way down, there's enormous losses.

00:50:36.720 And you're exactly correct that the federal deficit situation, which is already terrible, it's going to get even worse without that injection, that basically fake transfer from the Fed over to the Treasury.

00:50:48.720 You know, and all of this, by the way, against the backdrop of an economy, which unfortunately is falling apart.

00:50:53.720 And that's not my opinion.

00:50:54.720 That's what the numbers tell us.

00:50:55.720 If we go to chart number two, this is the Philadelphia Fed Manufacturing Index.

00:51:00.720 And this is since the beginning, since Biden took off, since the beginning of 2021.

00:51:04.720 Look at the handoff like so many of these charts.

00:51:06.720 Look at the handoff from Donald Trump.

00:51:08.720 The Trump boom 2.0.

00:51:09.720 The economy was recovering with gusto.

00:51:11.720 That's the first arrow pointing upward ever since Biden's policies took effect.

00:51:16.720 Look at the arrow downward and the demonstrable trend, unfortunately, into deeply negative territory for Philadelphia Fed.

00:51:24.720 Manufacturing came in shockingly low in recent days, minus 24.3.

00:51:30.720 Other than the lockdowns, that is the lowest number we have seen since the 08-09 great financial crisis, the great recession.

00:51:38.720 That is the reality of where we are right now, not according to Steve Cortez or Steve Bannon, according to the numbers, according to the Philadelphia Fed.

00:51:46.720 And it's on the ground assessment of what is happening in manufacturing in this country.

00:51:50.720 It is absolutely falling apart.

00:51:53.720 And by the way, speaking of McKinsey, I mentioned them earlier.

00:51:55.720 McKinsey, which almost always recommends layoffs for basically every corporate client that engages McKinsey.

00:52:01.720 The most elitist firm in the world.

00:52:03.720 I mean, the definition of globalism.

00:52:05.720 McKinsey itself laying off 2,000 people.

00:52:08.720 Now, I'm never happy about anybody losing their job.

00:52:10.720 But what's good for the goose sometimes is good for the gander.

00:52:13.720 And unfortunately, people are losing their jobs even at McKinsey.

00:52:18.720 Cortez, if your wife and the workers will allow you to stick around for the first part of the next block, hang in there.

00:52:25.720 We've got to get to immigration. 0.99
