00:05:55.980they're all cut from the same cloth here.
00:05:58.200the bait and what they're all engaging is a bait and switch right they're pulling you in
00:06:05.480these people are coming in for the faith and now they're being sucked in as being marshalled in
00:06:11.700as troops as it were for the pope's private political opinions i will hand over to frank
00:06:18.500walker on this observation i remember about five or ten years ago there's a left-wing politician
00:06:23.640in italy and the name escapes me right now but she was saying when bergoglio the late
00:06:28.940unlamented francis was um the papal pretender and she said we're so grateful in the hard left
00:06:38.080because there's these the political parties on two and three percent in the polls we're so grateful
00:06:43.400that that bergoglio that that pope francis is leading on these issues because he's pushing
00:06:50.540issues she said more to the left of what even we think we can get away with right and these
00:06:56.480are political parties on as i say one two three percent and she was coming out publicly saying
00:07:01.640that that bergoglio she's grateful for him because he's pushing a view even to the left that is a
00:07:07.060even more electorally unviable but when it's when it's the pope that's doing it um and as frank
00:07:15.500will tell you who is the spiritual leader of 1.4 billion catholics when the pope does it that
00:07:23.620gives it that magnifies this voice so just hold on to that image of the photo here of the backdrop
00:07:30.340in france because it's pretty important i think as frank unrolls this the man is speaking for
00:07:36.960himself on a set of political views that have very little electoral resonance amongst the people
00:07:44.600especially amongst the people in France.
00:07:46.200We know this because Marine Le Pen is almost certainly going to come first.0.99
00:07:51.600It'll head to the second round run-offs in the French elections next spring,
00:07:55.860but she's almost certainly going to come first.0.96
00:07:58.680The pro-invasion, the pro-migration lobby,
00:08:02.120has never had less support in continental Europe.
00:08:07.280Leo is pushing this with all his might,
00:08:09.280and the backdrop of the photo there is the throngs,
00:08:12.280throngs make it look as if he's speaking for the 1.4 billion Catholics, which simply is not the
00:08:18.400case. Frank Walker, thoughts and observations, if you please. Yes, I agree with you. I think this is
00:08:26.500a triumph of the narrative makers. This is such a successful way to push their position. Francis
00:08:35.680did not have, he did not have both sides of the machine backing him. Leo does. Leo has all the
00:08:45.000narrative makers. He has the neoconservative size and he has a neoliberal size. He has the whole one
00:08:50.220party together. And this whole event here showed, you know, it's a whole class up in making people
00:08:58.560believe something about Leo, believe that he's the Pope. Remember when Leo showed up in the
00:09:04.680seen him a year ago, we were all talking about how the traditional Catholic media was sort of
00:09:09.500falling over and making him look like he's a Catholic when he's not a Catholic and how terrible
00:09:16.000that was. Well, this is phase two. What happened in France, you know, I don't know. You say these
00:09:23.260people are Catholics. I wonder, who are these people? Do they not know Leo who show up? And
00:09:29.060And they had a difference here in this is that at Lourdes, in that picture that you showed, Leo actually said very many faithful Catholic things.
00:09:38.120And in this trip, Leo actually did correct France on euthanasia and on some pro-life things.
00:09:45.540Specifically, I don't remember him ever doing that before.
00:09:49.560But most of the time, see, that's something to help the Catholic voters think that it doesn't take much.
00:09:57.920people who aren't paying attention, that think that this is a Catholic pope, and they see these
00:10:03.240events, and they see all the people, and they think they're all Catholics. But Leo spent most
00:10:08.400of his time doing what he always does, saying woke pope things, talking about more migration,
00:10:16.460giving backhanded hits to Trump, getting up on the plane and saying that he makes sure that all
00:10:22.260the press they um they're they have all access not like that trump you know saying oh ai isn't
00:10:28.880fake news he was he was very political and then he went to the city of mess i think is how they
00:10:34.500pronounce it which is like the where the eu started to promote this fake eu saint who tried
00:10:41.260to create when eu is a mess it's it's a it's sort of a tyranny and he's promoting that and he spent
00:10:47.980most of his time there with macron and the elite and unesco doing his leo yeah so that's all right
00:10:56.360firstly seeing as you mention it we'll get the details out for you folks um metz um right that
00:11:05.400the reference of metz and the the fake saint that they're trying to make one of the one of the so
00:11:14.060called Fathers of the Open Union, Robert Schuman, French Catholic.
00:11:17.600Of course, that was pre-Conciliar Catholicism, so fair enough on that.
00:11:24.260The AI thing, right, the AI thing, you're absolutely right
00:12:25.020I have a certain sympathy, for example,
00:12:27.820on the position of not invoking God's name for war, for example.
00:12:35.020But of course, it depends on the circumstances
00:12:36.760because you can have some wars which are just um i think that's been less i think it's been more and
00:12:44.180more debatable since the second world war about which wars have been just and which ones haven't
00:12:49.260put that aside those are prudential judgment calls on which men and women of goodwill can differ
00:12:58.240in good faith these things however and i'll riff off what you said frank because you mentioned
00:13:03.880the ai thing right the a against the ai do um excuse me against um in favor of the ai doomers
00:13:10.960excuse me in favor of the ai he was speaking in favor of the ai doomers he was speaking in the
00:13:18.720importance of international law the importance of multilateralism and against invoking god what
00:13:23.700those things all have in common they are all anti-trump positions right that's what what i
00:13:29.300want to say here he is setting himself up has been doing from day one as the anti-trump on the world
00:13:36.920stage and as you saw from the um the headline in the washington post piece that position is being
00:13:45.820fully endorsed by the the mainstream media which is basically the the the the um the uh communications
00:13:55.100office for the um the powers that govern this world they mentioned specifically pope leo leans
00:14:04.460into the the statesman's the statesman role this is so he's countering trump because he's you know
00:14:12.740he doesn't have any electoral base but someone who is generally recognized as being a pope of
00:14:20.080the catholic church i don't i'm not in that camp but just put that aside i'm not dogmatic about it
00:14:26.760um but as someone who is generally recognized as as being the catholic pope that comes with a
00:14:32.440certain credibility it would certainly have a credibility to it were that the case let me put
00:14:37.400it like that um so he's he set himself up as the anti-trump the world's media now um are falling
00:14:44.620very much behind that and promoting him in that role. Frank, I know you've got a quick
00:14:50.420summation, summary that you want to do. Share that with us, and then we'll go on to Jenny.
00:14:55.320Well, it makes him look much more Catholic and beloved to have these events. And Leo even takes
00:15:01.440credit for it. He says, this is my new church. I can't believe all the people that come here.
00:15:06.000It's a rebirth. It's a renewal. I'm having a renewal. My new renewed church is all here to
00:15:12.640see me like you said and taking credit that is so powerful and people are going to believe that he
00:15:18.080said it's like burned up notre dame notre dame burned and it's been rebuilt and the church is
00:15:23.420a big renewal now well we've been hearing that forever but i think that's going to that's this
00:15:28.560is a powerful political statement like you say it's political it's it's perfectly timed but you
00:15:35.080but you see marine le pen is surging just the news right in the middle of this event they come
00:15:41.200out and they say marine le pen is like going to double her her position in the in the government
00:15:45.680so i don't i think this is hype this is a lot of well put together taking advantage of a situation
00:15:53.060to create hype frank hold on to the marine le pen thing when i come back to it um when we continue
00:15:59.340the analysis of the it's very important actually um because she herself intervened on on the visit
00:16:05.900and i have some some strong views on that um but we'll hit that let's before we hand over to jenny
00:16:12.940let's give a quick shout out to our show's sponsor birch gold as always this time of the show america
00:16:19.580has we're hitting this basically every day now america has a 40 trillion dollar national debt
00:16:28.140that's being serviced the price the cost of servicing that the annualized figure is 1.2
00:16:33.980trillion dollars per year uh analysts are suggesting that's going to be up to two trillion
00:16:39.260by the end of the year we mentioned yesterday on the show the axios article that indicated that
00:16:45.180five percent now is going to be the new base rate thanks guys uh going forward uh so so the 1.2
00:16:54.380trillion that you're paying at the moment simply to service your national debt um is going to go up
00:17:01.500as interest rates themselves go up and the debt requires renewing and of course the second thanks
00:17:08.140very much again denver you're on the balls today uh the um the again staying with axios they're
00:17:14.700there with an article that came out today i flagged this up for you uh talking about the
00:17:22.620pressures this is going to have on the economy long story short we are heading into
00:17:29.260times of economic turbulence and therefore you might want to be thinking more closely than
00:17:37.980normally how you might preserve protect your savings especially your cash savings investments
00:17:49.960are one thing but if you have cash savings as we move into these this period of turbulence
00:17:55.560Almost certainly, almost certainly, the Federal Reserve will start printing dollars, which means that's going to destroy the purchasing power of your dollar against gold.
00:18:10.380So before that starts, it's already taking place, but before that really takes off, speak to Philip Patrick and his team at Birch Gold Group.
00:18:21.340you can do that by texting bannon b-a-n-n-o-n over to 989898 get that conversation with philip
00:18:30.840patrick going or go to birch gold all one word birchgold.com forward stroke bannon find out more
00:18:38.480find out how they can help you find out ask them get them on the end of the phone and ask them how
00:18:43.620you can convert an old IRA into an IRA in physical gold because you want to be protected
00:18:54.520in these economic times of turbulence to the best of your ability what that entails what it involves
00:19:00.860how to do it all right okay on to Jenny Jenny I know you've been wanting to talk about this
00:19:06.780all week and the lindsey clancy holdout juror um who spoke on the we had this in the cold open very
00:19:16.460convincingly i thought about the importance of his catholic faith uh tell me just uh break this down
00:19:25.580about the case about the juror about the fact i have noticed there that the press is sort of sort
00:19:32.080of snickering about the fact that he's Catholic, and lo and behold, they're also snickering
00:19:37.560about the fact that his family is of Haitian descent, right?0.83
00:19:58.100They're snickering about him being a Catholic and they're snickering about him being of Haitian descent, which would never be acceptable in any other circumstance.
00:20:08.420But because he held up the jewelry on this, he gets thrown under the bus, under the steamroller.
00:20:15.600So tell us, give us your insights on this then, please, Jenny Holland.
00:20:19.820Yeah, that's absolutely spot on, Ben. Progressives only love and protect and defend Black people insofar as Black people toe their line. Once they break free from that, they are then declared the enemy.0.98
00:20:33.040So, yeah, the Lindsay Clancy trial, as everyone will know, was declared a mistrial at the end of or toward the end of September after a grueling trial in which she pled not guilty by reason of insanity to strangling her three babies.1.00
00:20:54.000And the case created such a media firestorm, not least because a very strange and demented subculture of crazy liberal women sprang up defending her slavishly all over social media.
00:21:11.640So it was really this hothouse atmosphere around the trial with Lindsay, the admitted killer of her own babies, being held up as some sort of victim and heroine of a apocryphal system that had somehow failed her.1.00
00:21:30.700And the jury selection obviously hadn't done a very good job because there was quite a few libtarded women on there.0.99
00:21:37.480and from the get-go they were pressuring the rest of the jury to agree with the defense that she was1.00
00:21:43.840not culpable and criminally responsible by reason of insanity and over I think it was something like
00:21:50.70038 hours multiple days of browbeating by these women who then went on a media tour so we know
00:21:57.320who they all are this one man refused to bend and when it first the when the misra was first
00:22:05.960declared, it didn't take long for his identity to be outed. First of all, the defense attorney,
00:22:15.940a man by the surname of Reddington, I believe, came out and personally attacked the holdout
00:22:22.500juror as he was at first known. He referred to him as a he, thus narrowing it down to one of the
00:22:28.340three men on the jury. He said he hoped the man could sleep at night. He essentially blamed him
00:22:34.980for wasting everyone's time. And through just a public hissy fit, it was really beneath his
00:22:39.760profession, the way he went after the juror. And he has since petitioned the judge to haul the man
00:22:44.840back into court to answer for his behavior. A really extraordinary attack on this individual
00:22:51.580private citizen. And of course, the media went to town on him as well and started leaking
00:22:56.760information about a criminal record and all this stuff that was much more nuanced in actual fact
00:23:02.260than was at first presented basically he was slandered and dragged through the mud um and as
00:23:07.280that headline showed um just to give one example of that of the drive-by shooting i noticed that
00:23:18.380the press had gone in there and seen that he was reported but not charged for having beaten um or
00:23:25.280thrown a nephew to the ground of course no one knows what the facts of that story are or the
00:23:30.680context but it was um it was dragged out obviously um in in the media's trial i mean
00:23:37.340the the court the a court of law has one trial the media sets it sets it sets itself up as judge
00:23:44.920and jury um without any provocation whatsoever and they they convicted this guy right they said
00:23:51.880you know he beats his up beats up his own family criminal record i'm not sure of course how much
00:23:57.560of this is actually true but it's a great attempt of the media to come in and discredit this guy
00:24:03.060who's who by the way by the way from from from the the video that we had in the cold open seemed to
00:24:10.720me if one can read the aura of a person in in a 60 second um interview seemed like a very decent
00:24:19.680guy to me decent yeah vibes very decent guy to me that's the the word i would choose decent and
00:24:26.780He comes across as very humble as well, sort of an everyman, salt of the earth kind of fellow.
00:24:31.740Now, the thing that enraged these harridans, these screeching liberal harridans and their beloved defense attorney, was that he refused to allow the beatification of Lindsay Clancy, the murdering mother, the killer mother.
00:24:50.580And he insisted on bringing attention back over and over again in the deliberations to the children, the actual victims in this case.
00:24:59.740One other juror actually went on television, and this is a direct quote, said, we just couldn't get him over the fact that she had viciously killed her own children as if this was a bad thing.
00:25:13.980So it was just beyond, it just beggars belief that these people are running around out there voting and living lives like intelligent people.
00:25:23.500However, this is a very big, I think, sort of PR victory for Catholicism, as it is represented in the flock, as it is represented in the congregation, the laity.
00:25:40.960Because he, as I just said, refused to allow the murderer to be centered and instead kept the focus on the children and kept the focus on, as is consistent with his faith, the culture of life.
00:25:58.640And the fact that he has been slandered and doxxed and forced into public renown or infamy over this is an extremely telling story, not just about America, but about actually the Catholic faith itself.
00:26:22.700And it's a good one. It's a good one. It shows the Catholic faith in a good light.0.74
00:26:26.300um i think jenny just to synthesize what you you're saying here is that you appreciate
00:26:34.820and respect the integrity of this guy who has been in this instance
00:26:40.920the um the yeast that has made the bread rise that's what our lord jesus christ calls on us
00:26:50.940to be, to be the yeast that makes the bread rise. And this is a good example of how one man
00:26:56.240can be that. Back in two minutes, folks, after this break.
00:27:01.020We're a couple of months out, but the midterms are fast approaching. And make no mistake,
00:27:06.800if the House flips to the Democrats, it's a big deal for our economy. That uncertainty
00:27:13.040is one of the reasons to diversify with gold from Birch Gold Group.
00:27:17.520In the three months leading up to the 2024 presidential election, the spot price of gold jumped over 12 percent.
00:27:25.120Now, why was that? Because we've taught you here on the show, it's a hedge against times of uncertainty.
00:27:32.780If you don't own gold, I would suggest talking to Birch Gold Group, Philip Patrick and the team.
00:27:38.820They'll discuss your goals, explain how precious metals can fit into your savings.
00:27:42.920They can even help you convert an existing IRA or 401k into an IRA in gold with no additional money out of your pocket.
00:27:53.720Easiest way to do this is text my name, Bannon, B-A-N-N-O-N, to the number 989898.
00:27:59.580Get a free information kit and get some solid information on gold.
00:28:05.640The midterms will be here before you know it.
00:31:55.180sign up for free and be part of the movement welcome back folks so let's carry on then with
00:32:01.540the um the analysis of the historic visit of pope leo to france um another point here frank
00:32:15.200walker that and i i actually did some original research on this because i saw how the press the
00:32:21.080mainstream media was doing um an in life canonization of provost um by talking in such
00:32:34.160glowing terms about the turnout how many people like headlines being revised up which we all saw
00:32:40.760this um every day you know how many people coming out now it's difficult to compare like for like
00:32:47.980but i went back and looked to the recent over the last 40 years papal visits you had one by
00:32:55.940john paul ii about 40 years ago you had one in 2020 20 excuse me 2004 just the year before he
00:33:04.640died um then you had one by bergoglio about what 10 15 years ago and then you have this one so you
00:33:12.300have four of the last 40 years um and guess what as i say it's been difficult to compare some of
00:33:19.220these like for like because they're not all identical the one that is comparable because
00:33:25.180it's been more or less constant is the mass at lords excuse me i got that wrong i got that wrong
00:33:34.260Bergoglio didn't go to France, it was JP2 40 years ago, JP2 the year before he died, it was Benedict, it's not Bergoglio, Benedict about 15 years ago, and I misspoke, and Provost, the one that is comparable is the one at Lourdes, and guess what folks, the turnout from JP2 40 years ago,
00:34:03.480So Benedict 15 years ago, and Prevost this time around is exactly the same at 150,000 people at the Catholic Shrine of Lords.
00:34:13.920The uptick was JP2 in 2004, which had over a million.
00:34:21.180Of course, he'd been Pope for like 25 years. He was clearly very ill, made huge sacrifices to get to France.
00:34:27.860people could sense that the that the end was almost there um and people sort of really did
00:34:33.940turn out there's a lot of affection for john paul ii um especially amongst the youth the jp2
00:34:40.180generation right uh and then they turned out in huge numbers um but apart from that the um the
00:34:48.740the the figures there has been um pretty much constant for the lords for the lord's mass uh
00:34:56.180That's not reflected in the mainstream media's breaking this down.
00:35:03.300Frank, here's one thing I do want to ask you,
00:35:05.620because you're mentioning Marine Le Pen.
00:35:08.020She's the leading contender in the French elections next week,
00:35:11.900excuse me, next year, in the spring of next year.
00:35:15.960She went and she said it was only natural for her to go
00:35:20.200to hear Leo's message of peace, harmony, and hope.
00:35:26.180which was almost word for word what president macron said um he said that harmony he was going
00:35:34.700for harmony and brotherhood that's where he was um that's why he went to go in here uh strange i
00:35:40.900think that marine le pen i mean she knows what she's doing because she's she's ahead in the polls
00:35:45.480i find it strange when there is such an appetite in france right now for for visible muscular
00:35:52.860christianity and in the french historical tradition that means muscular catholicism
00:36:00.220that marine le pen herself i think would be not only so weak on the um on why she was
00:36:08.460going to hear leo but she's giving him moral authority and moral credibility by going to0.76
00:36:17.860to hear him as he plays up the message which is diametrically against her own campaign that's the
00:36:26.140one i i just can't work out why she would be doing that but um break it down for me give me your
00:36:31.260analysis please frank walker it seems to me in this uh piece here that we were looking at the
00:36:36.440telegraph now that they're the the right in france is just not that far right even in the plane they
00:36:42.220mentioned the big french renewal and they said what about germany pope leon he slammed
00:36:47.200the ifte party he slammed the right party in germany but in france you have le pen that and
00:36:53.880she's just like i mean this is just the way the americans handle him too they don't touch him
00:36:58.460on on his uh uh his faith related things oh well that that's not our thing that's the faith or
00:37:05.160anything that's exactly the wrong way to approach leo because faith is everything and faith is the
00:37:11.160reason that you do things and so if you're going to make political choices you have to have a
00:37:14.920faithful reason about it. There's all sorts of faithful Catholics that are saying that they're
00:37:18.700going to let the Democrats win in the midterms. That's just not applying your faith. Marine Le
00:37:24.380Pen, they asked him about Leo and migrants, and she goes, well, he's the Pope. We don't want to
00:37:28.980confuse the Pope between the politicians. Yeah, but that's not a Catholic position. Just like
00:37:34.020Jen was saying right now, it's not a Catholic position to argue that the death penalty is bad.
00:37:39.800It's a pro-life position. So when the Pope takes un-Catholic positions, politicians should flag them on it, you know, and it just shows the weak, that that's a weak, that's another weak Le Pen response.
00:37:53.080You know, Trump actually one time, or maybe two, has confronted Leo on his actual, the way he's a Pope, you know, what kind of, because that's just dealing with reality.
00:38:04.080um it you know and they even even talk to frank the same way he's right in france but he's yeah
00:38:12.640exactly the same exactly the same they're projecting i mean i get why they're trying
00:38:18.600to project onto him the champion of their narrative because they're thinking if they
00:38:23.080can do that successfully it legitimizes their own arguments i get that but the point is it's
00:38:29.240i don't think it's going to be a strategy that will land with people and worse than that is
00:38:35.900that they're going to build up his moral um his moral authority and moral credibility which he
00:38:42.520will then use to beat them around the head with um and it's pretty clear that that that's exactly
00:38:47.460how that's going to be playing playing out but you said yes you absolutely right eric's are more
00:38:51.740people could consider him to be further to the right um on certain cultural issues than marine
00:38:59.140le pen again same thing go go same thing um blancmange uh in welcoming leo excuse me yeah
00:39:07.900he's untouchable you can't touch the pope you know he's the pope we all believe in him because
00:39:12.540we're catechism it just shows that marine le pen it reminds everybody that marine le pen doesn't
00:39:16.800really believe the catholic faith because if you were a catholic then they'd be drawing attention
00:39:21.100to the fact that the pope's not catholic i mean he even compared the rebirth that he the renewal
00:39:26.020of the church he compared to uh the new eu that rose after the after world war ii i mean you can't
00:39:32.580compare the catholic church to the eu i mean he supported the french he supported the ideals of
00:39:37.300the french revolution while he was in france that's the essence of the political enemy of the
00:39:43.400catholic faith that you know how many thousands and thousands of of catholics were murdered at
00:39:48.980the french revolution and and those ideals are leon's ideals he supported them there he was at
00:39:54.720unesco praising all of their science you know yeah yes he was yes yeah yeah yeah it's just it's a
00:40:01.260stunt is what it is they're trying to make him look like like he's a catholic when really he's
00:40:06.740just this um the political operator that believes in the french revolution and he hates the catholic
00:40:11.080church let's um two things right so you say that um marine le pen and eric zamore are
00:40:24.260giving out certain vibes to actual believing, practicing Catholics,
00:40:29.260that these, that Le Pen and Zemore might not actually be...
00:40:38.260Well, we know she's not very Catholic.
00:40:41.620Familiar, familiar, intimately familiar with what the Catholic Church teaches,
00:41:20.240So I sort of think that the present, what are they, boomers, that they're going to, you know, when they move on, when the boomers who are in the populist nationalist iterations at the moment move on and make way for the generation coming through, there's going to be a huge difference from that.
00:41:42.100So I think you're absolutely right on that, Frank.
00:41:43.980With regards to Le Pen, however, I must underline this point.
00:41:51.260Leo is going to use every means at his disposal to try and persuade Catholics that give him credibility not to vote for her at the next election.
00:42:02.700um the um so i again that that's really important to to to to stress um the the the fact that he
00:42:12.620he's going to the catholic hierarchy in france are going to do that you can take that to the bank
00:42:17.040um and the idea that the catholic church and the european union are similar well the post concilia
00:42:25.880fake church that isn't the true catholic church it isn't the mystical body of jesus christ
00:42:32.640that is very similar to the european union um it's the spiritual arm of the european union if
00:42:40.600you will it's the european union at prayer if you will um but for those who have the faith they will
00:42:46.860realize that they will realize pretty quickly that that means that that cannot be the true
00:42:51.520catholic faith okay and going over to it we'll be following on from that point to jenny now

00:44:37.920forward stroke bannon promo code bannon all right jenny so here's a story from the wall street journal
00:44:45.000this has your name written all over it um it's basically that they've basically rift i think
00:44:53.000They've put an article, quite a well-written and substantial article together on the back of everything that you've been saying every Wednesday on this show over the past year.
00:45:03.180So let's start off with the statistics.
00:45:07.040They're talking here about in France this year,
00:45:12.480they had over 13,000 adults baptized at Easter this year
00:45:22.240Quite a huge number and a threefold increase up from 2019.
00:45:28.700um tell us then about the wall street journal's analysis of the rise of gen z
00:45:36.500pegged around the visit of leo to france yeah it is pegged around the visit to leo
00:45:43.900to france by leo um and it attributes um leo's interest in traveling there at least in part to
00:45:52.640this uh this increase in baptisms and i think the article says that france is sort of leading the
00:45:59.080way on this and we've done stories similar in the past um there was the pilgrimage story and i think
00:46:05.340i think we also covered the the number of baptisms at easter um this year earlier this year um yeah
00:46:11.780so um the number is up what did you say have multiple fold um of adult baptisms um three
00:46:20.900three times since 2019 three times and the number of teen baptisms is up tenfold so teens and uh
00:46:30.020adults are yeah so it's 8 000 something teens were baptized this year but that's a tenfold increase
00:46:36.780um and you know considering what teens normally are like i think 8 000 is a hugely is a hugely
00:46:41.860significant number um now the the piece kind of details um the well-known um troubled history i
00:46:52.480would say of france that france has with the catholic church and its strict enforcement of
00:46:57.320laicite the separation of church and state um and it it says the it attributes the rise in the um
00:47:07.420adult converts to the spiritual void that was left in the wake of the extreme secularization
00:47:15.680of a once very, very, very Catholic France. And I think that's an interesting take. Yes,
00:47:23.140sure, let's say it's the spiritual void. But what else is going on in France and across Europe
00:47:28.980right now. We have an insurgent Islam. We have a flooding of these countries with third world men,1.00
00:47:39.560migrant men from the Middle East and Africa, many of them Muslim, many of them committing crimes1.00
00:47:47.480and being violent within these societies and seeing their governments and their chattering1.00
00:47:54.420classes, bend over backwards to cater to them. And the longer standing Muslim communities in0.90
00:48:02.460France are extremely confident, extremely chauvinistic. The article even says that the1.00
00:48:08.440Muslim communities have no fear testing the bounds of the laicite, the separation of church
00:48:14.180and state, in ways that the Catholic Church and Christians in general are terrified to do.
00:48:19.280I'm so terrified that even one of the interview subjects in this article is a former Muslim who was turned away by his local Catholic priest when he approached and said he and his wife wanted to convert to Catholicism because the priest was scared off by the fact that he was a Muslim.
00:48:38.160And, you know, not unreasonably, given given the history of terrorism and the attacks on Christian and Catholic churches.
00:48:46.020There was a priest beheaded at the altar in France several years ago by a Muslim attacker.
00:48:52.440So, yeah, I mean, the other thing they attribute this to is covid.
00:48:55.920In fact, the main subject of the article, the young man who's pictured in the in the main photograph, came to faith during the covid lockdowns when he was off, sequestered with his grandma.
00:49:06.720um and the intense loneliness he was feeling um um and you know so it's a lot of the the familiar
00:49:13.760themes we see in other stories the the the new york congregation the the village the manhattan
00:49:21.060church in the village that's got this very robust and lively young um congregation um but you know
00:49:28.860it's very and what is very amusing to me is that this article describes the church church officials
00:49:35.680how they view this the rise in adult converts the article describes the church officials as
00:49:43.860viewing that as a mixed blessing which I find odd why isn't it just a blessing and I'm going to
00:49:51.440I'm going to hazard a guess as to why it's not just an out and out blessing like with every
00:49:57.400other story we do on this topic we see cradle Catholics people who were born into the church0.90
00:50:04.320falling away, losing all energy, losing all confidence, losing all faith, being demoralized
00:50:13.320away into secularity from the church, whilst all of the energy, and I would say all of the sort of
00:50:20.560spiritual, I mean, purity, that's not the greatest word, but you know what I mean,
00:50:24.740the spiritual energy and the spiritual integrity is coming from adults, from new converts, I should
00:50:32.400say. And my personal guess is that that's not what church officials want. They want the much
00:50:38.600more docile and checked out laity. All right. You know, just very quickly,
00:50:49.780before we end, Jenny, I have to say, when you were talking about the laicite and Frank was
00:50:57.320talking about the values of the French Revolution, the liberty,
00:51:01.160equality, and fraternity that Leo endorsed.
00:51:07.080I just want to make a very quick sideswipe here at Ratzinger,
00:51:11.960who many people in Trad Inc acclaim as some kind of traditionalist,
00:51:17.300because he said, lest we forget, Ratzinger,
00:51:21.580stroke known to some by his stage name of Pope Benedict XVI,
00:51:26.900Ratzinger said it was the job of the French,
00:51:29.620it was the job of the Second Vatican Council
